We have built a special earthen cob building to be used as a small meditation/ seminar center in a tropical rainforest setting. We often require devoted helpers who wish to assist with a plant nursery, veggie gardens, honey bees, and fruit orchids in exchange for free accommodation and food supply. We prefer helpers who have the right attitude toward working and giving back and who want to make a contribution to this planet. We expect a minimum of one week or longer to stay. We are living off-grid, use rainwater, solar power, compost toilets and aim towards self-sufficiency. We are only 15 minutes away from Kuranda village, near the Steiner School, and 50 minutes from Cairns Domestic/International Airport. Own transport is required. At the moment, I am working on a new project near Mission Beach/Bingil Bay, 600 meters away from the ocean with great views. The focus is on renovating a two-story house, the ground floor is separate, where future guests can stay, and self-contained with a...

The intercity bus stops in Kerikeri. Our property is 5km from State Highway 10. We will collect you from Kerikeri if necessary. We are a pretty colourful bunch of nice people composed of an austrian and a middle east family and long standing international friends. Actually living here permanently: Feri (1982), Lise (1975) and Mia (1942). The children Layla (2013) and Aisha (2015) are coming regularly to see us. We also have a lot of different visitors here from all over the world. We live here in Lower Austria at the beginning of the alps in one of the beautiful natural spring water protection areas of the city of Vienna. (100 km south of the city - by train within 1 hour). Its the last small village before the Höllental (hell canion) at the foot of the mountain Rax near the river Schwarza. We are on a hill, hidden behind ancient giant coniferous trees. The farm was built over 150 years ago as a guest house, then used as a simple farmhouse and then converted in the style of a century-turnvilla. From the original stable became another residential house. The old house is still very original (as 100 years ago) an...

Transforming a summer house into a place for living organically. I must finish preparing the terraces and the garden for winter planting. Some tasks (not all) can be somewhat boring such as cutting and stacking firewood, removing, digging, collecting vegetable remains,... I appreciate the dexterity in physical and manual works and you need to be fit and able to use your strength efficiently. Hi, I'm looking for creative minds efficient bodies who would like to get involved on an sustainable country house project, with some animals and plenty of work to do. There's a protected little forest surrounding the house with small wild animals, and 5 domestic geese, two chickens, two dogs and two cats. I need help with many things; work on the greenhouse which I have designed by myself, planting organic plots, habitual garden work, Cleaning the Forrest, building a new lodge for the geese. I'd also like help to build a traditional kitchen and central heating installation with pellet syst...

No more helpers needed until October 2024 Hi, my name is Sylvia and I'm Dutch. After having lived for the majority of my life in cities I wanted to roam around with Helpx, so I did. However, I fell in love with the first place where I stayed, many years ago. A very small rural village in Bavaria, Germany, at the Czech border. I rented the huge house and intend to stay here, with my little dog, for the rest of my life. It’s a beautiful hilly area and the forests invite for long walks in which you may spot deer, lynxes, boars and other animals. Public transport ends in Weiden (train) or Lohma (bus), but I have a car, can pick you up and drop you off. Plenty to see within reasonable distance like Nuremberg, Regensburg, Munich, and Prague. Ski and snowboard centre at 7 km distance and lots of others a bit further away. In the holiday season, Christmas markets can be found everywhere. You will have your own room (with WIFI) and a shared bathroom, and you are welcome to the rest of the h...

We are a fit and active couple in our 70s who have recently bought a home (2021) right by the water on Lamb Island in Moreton Bay, 30km from Brisbane. It has great views over the bay and has good access to fishing, crabbing, safe swimming and boating. There is a fast and regular ferry to the mainland that takes 20 minutes. There are also several other islands nearby that can be explored including North Stradbroke Island that has wonderful beaches and walks and lots of wildlife including koalas, kangaroos, turtles and dolphin and - from June to October - humpback whales. And we always take our HelpX guests for a sail in our sailboat, Over the next two years we will renovate and paint the home, install new kitchen and two bathrooms. Graham has some woodworking skill but needs help during that time with various tasks and we are willing to give you a comfortable bed, good food and company and access to bathroom and washing machine in exchange for 4 hours help per day, 5 days per week. My name is Boudani Abidine. I live with my family in a small town called Tagounite in the southest of Morocco. We have an organic farm. It dates back to centuries when my grandfathers settled down in the Daraa Valley. We were nomade family. The farm is a beautiful place for families and pets to spend an enjoyable time. Also, there is an opportunity to connect with nature and soil. It is friendly for the whole family and pets. So, you're welcome to your second home! There is shower and toilet. For the daily activities in the farm, our volunteers can do housework, taking care of children, garden-work and taking care of the farm animals like shepherding and milking etc. We generate our own electrical power using a solar system. There are families who come with a motorhome, truck and vehicles have the option to park in the farm. There is a security-guard for securing trucks, cars, motorhome etc. Volunteers with tents can pitch them in the farm. In the farm, our volunteers can relax, have...

We, Matthias and Johanna, came from Germany as backpackers in the 1980s, and met here in NZ, so our home language is German. We are now a family with 8 children - 3 still living at home (1 of them home-schooling, 2 working). Our oldest son with his wife and 4 young boys have moved back onto our property, - they are now living in our cottage. Our lifestyle block is home to a gaggle of geese, a flock of domestic ducks, around 40 chicken, 8 sheep and a few goat bucks, - and of course many wild birds, rabbits and the tiny creatures of fields, woods and duck-pond. An old apple, apricot and peach orchard and a young walnut grove are also part of our little paradise. Amazingly, though situated just off SH1, our place affords a cosy sense of privacy, as it nestles behind an old pine-tree shelter belt and is lined with a shelter belt of poplar trees along the rest of its border. The township of Amberley is 5 min away by car or 20 min by bicycle, where you can do all essential shopping, go to t...

Thanks for visiting our page.. I look forward to the possibility of hosting you :) My family has recently moved to a riverside farm property. We live here with chickens, geese, bunny rabbits, ducks and two cats! We are in the beginning stages of planning and implementing a small productive farm based upon a mix of permaculture, biodynamics, regenerative agriculture and land for wildlife. We live in a sub-tropical, unique area of regional NSW, on the East Coast, at Upper Orara which is close to Coffs Harbour and its beaches. We need some help with variety of projects, cleaning and cooking, also possibly some childcare. It is envisioned that you would like being a part of family life while you are here. At our new riverfront 1 acre home there are permaculture projects, art projects, painting projects, furniture up cycling projects, garden preparation and design etc. Bring your own skills and experience to the situation eg yoga classes, build a mud brick oven, mosaic project ...

We offer a farm stay with great views and good conversation. We chopped down a pine forest and replanted with Manuka about 4 years ago so its starting to look really great, and more native birds are about. Also we are developing a small reserve that needs assistance with tracks and tree management. Some stock work is all so on offer but we will work with you all the time as its safer and more fun. cheers Geoff and Declan

I would really like some help for the next month in the garden from mid April until mid May and I am interested in helpers who are keen to work outside in my garden but there are also other jobs available when the weather is not suitable. .Active lady, keen gardener and conservationist, cyclist, hiker and world traveller. I have travelled to many countries and across many continents over the last 40 years. I love the cultural exchanges and Challenges that travel brings and I am a keen explorer. My house is in Onerahi overlooking the inner harbour, mangroves and the distant hills and only 5 minutes from the vibrant town Basin. It is very peaceful and quiet and there are many things to do locally. Lots of beaches, hiking trails and cycling close by. My house is just above the walking track and cycle path that takes you in to town in one direction and out to the Onerahi Penninsula in the other. I can easily take you into town and there is also a local bus service at the end of the stree...

Experience the peace and tranquility and help with various projects around my home in rural Occitanie, France I am an independent, free spirited 54 year old Australian who will be living most of the year in France when I am not running my charities overseas in Africa. I am qualified primary school teacher who has taught in the west (Australia, France, Italy and the UK) and in Tanzania, Ghana, Sudan, China, and Thailand. We have hosted since 2014, although have taken a few years off recently. We are building our dream house and need help with some parts on and off all year. We are happy to take helpers all year round. We are a busy family of 5 living in a small house 45 minutes from Yass, 1.5 hours from Canberra and 4.5 hours from Sydney. We are looking for a dynamic, self motivated couple or 2 friends to come and help our family. Because we are so busy we really are only looking for people who have lots of initiative and who can work independently. Your own car or driving licence is NOT essential, but will make your time with us easier, as we are quite isolated. If you don't have a vehicle we can pick you up from Yass train station or bus stop. Local attractions include caving, 4WD, swimming, fishing and bushwalking in Wee Jasper, Yass (45 minutes), Canberra (1.5 hours and the capital city of Australia) and Goulburn (1.75 hours) We would like you to become part of our family whilst you are here. Current availability is from now until the end of June. Then from September onwards. Message me for a chat 🙂 Hello! How are you? My name is Andy and I've been hosting people for years now with Helpx and other organisations. If you are seeking a true cultural exchange, want to really improve your English to a more advanced level and you are a person with high expectations of yourself or want to be around people who also want to help you, then please read on. I appreciate spending my time with people who like me want to learn more about this strange and wonderful planet we all occupy. I get on with people who are usually self-transparent, with whom I have common interests, who care about others, and like me want to continually learn more about themselves. I have learned a lot from my time hosting people and my journey continues. I am a well-educated person who believes life is a continual learning experience. Hola..I am Chris, a 70's baby, 80's child, 90's raver (30 years a DJ)....Farmer and father of 3 kids, the youngest of which, Savi - now a teenager - lives with me part-time on our large (2 hectares) organic farm in Las Alpujarras, Southern Spain. Our family life here began 20 years ago, with us living in self-made geodesic domes up in the mountains, totally off-grid and off-road. We continue to farm there, though much of our attention is now with our off-grid farm in a community valley, where we have extensive fruit and vegetable gardens (including many olive trees), a greenhouse, 3 dogs and a cat! We use traditional and modern methods of organic farming, growing produce all year round for ourselves and a local cooperative. Alongside this we continue to create a venue for Earth conscious events and accommodation for nature loving people, which we are building using natural and up-cycled materials. We have various hand-crafted spaces able to accommodate 15-20 people, including 2 tradi...

Hi, I have just returned from Italy and excited to be able to host again! I love living close to nature, co creating with my environment and doing my best to live with awareness. I enjoy simple things like food I have grown, good company, birdsong, swimming in the river,singing... I am also an artist/musician and traveller. I like to do yoga and meditation most days. I am always happy to meet other travellers to share knowledge and life experience. As well as English I speak Italian. I am looking for help on my property which I am developing as a nature retreat. It is a great place to re centre and recharge. It would suit people who are nature lovers who like being off the beaten track. There is no wifi or TV Sending and receiving texts is generally ok Phone reception is dependant on your phone or if the gods are happy! I enjoy meeting people from around the world to share knowledge, experiences, work and hopefully some laughs together. I enjoy hosting and meeting new people I otherwi...

Groenendaal is a beautiful, hilly area of the municipality of Hoeilaart, with beautiful old villas and at a 2-minute walk from the vast Forest de Soignes. There I live, together with my two dogs Saffran and Kira, in a spacious house surrounded by garden and forest land of 1.5 hectares. To maintain that large garden and the forest, I would like the help of someone who is not necessarily specialised in gardening, but who likes some solid outdoor work. I'm thinking, for example, of splitting wood or clearing out rampant plants. For the really heavy work, there is the help of Ramzan, a Chechen who lives in a cottage in the garden with his small family. Indoors, too, there are some clearance tasks on the to-do list. The helper, preferably someone who loves dogs, will have his own room, bathroom and toilet. Through my activities and commitments, he or she will get to know many new people. Groenendaal station is a 10-minute walk away, and the train will take you into the centre of Brussels, t...

Hi, my name is Marianne. I live on a classic New Zealand "tree quarter acre section" on a north facing (all day sun) hobbit hill, looking down to Oamaru and from my kitchen window or climbing up the jungle hill behind the cottage, you can see the sea and watch the sunrise. A 10 minute stroll down Eden Street gets you either to the CBD or to the shoreline. After five years of absence house and gardens have been badly damaged physically and spiritually. In the effort to restore the above, I re-discovered HelpX for finding spirited support for all sorts of quirky manifestations of visible and touchable things. In my role as your host, I am fully committed to provide three basic meals per day, to be fully there when our agreed upon four hours of work start and to offer you some nice and clean room to stay. With my double bed guest room created to a comfortable Kiwi standard and a renovated lounge fit for more than two friends, a family or a yoga space, I am happy to open my home again for...

Hi We’ve enjoyed a year ‘off’ and are now ready to again open our door to people who wish to experience real New Zealand life ie day to day living on a lifestyle block where we grow as much of our food as we can. The cabin is available from 7th May. We currently need help with firewood stacking, vege garden prep for winter and of course always weeds & blackberry to deal to. There is still more mulch spreading to do before winter. We also need to build a new seed raising boxes plus various small projects that you might like to get involved in. Please get in touch if you would like to help us. We live in paradise. Between the sea & the hills in sunny Te Horo, on the beautiful Kapiti Coast (see photo of Kapiti Island from Te Horo Beach). We've built a comfortable place for you to stay (the purple cabin)... now come & help us keep on top of our glorious acres. We currently only have chooks & cats. But will restock with beef cows soon. Only small numbers and very easy to manag...

Autonomy for everyone, especially for you and us at mealtime ... Resources are shared according to the availability of the moment. More possibilities if my children are not there, less if I have other guests ... fortuitous ... In the meantime we have no shortage of space in the garden to let you plant your tent or you lend a space... This is the minimum we can guarantee. A cabin is also available on the family sailboat ... Here too, there is work ... The room with double bed of the house is not often free for our helper sometimes the chance does things well, ask what you want, we are in French Polynesia climate is stable all year ;-) We will not ask for more than 2 or 3 hours of help a day in exchange we plan to lodge without food, although fruits from the garden are still part of the tradition of sharing the house... It's up to you to do your shopping and your dish washing and cleaning up after, the load will be in our situation not equitable otherwise.

We grow organic table grapes, a few fruit trees, chickens and a few pigs. This is a real farm experience, mostly working in the vineyard, with some fun too. There is biking to town, swimming in the ocean or our lake, fishing, basketball, volleyball, hiking, nature walks, beach strolling and look for fossils at Blue Beach, camp fires , rope swing in our little lake, take in the fantastic views, sunsets, star gazing, internet, tv, phone and go to nearby towns such as Wolfville and Hantsport as well as the rest of the Annapolis Valley with the local bus. The accommodations and kitchen are separate for helpers cooking with an abundance of food. This is a more independent farm stay. Hope you can make it here.

We are in the process of renovating an old house in the Pyrenees. We live in a small village with some shops and a climbing centre and a river just opposite the house. We have a quite a size garden where we grow vegetables and fruit bushes and trees. Here, we have spectacular mountain views on our doorstep, hiking trails through the mountains and forests, cycling paths, and skiing in the winter months. We love company of other people, and love having visitors. There would be plenty of chances to be alone, if that is what one is looking for. We are both retired teachers that would be happy to help you improve your knowledge of English. We offer homestay experience. We can lend you a bicycle to do your own exploring, you can hike, take a bus or train to go further afield. We also like to explore the area and show it to our visitors. We are located 10km from Spain. We have fibre internet. We would cook together or take turns (so make sure you can cook some interesting vegetarian dish...

We are looking for 1 person or a couple to help Mark around the construction of a house, with painting etc. If a couple the second person can help Nathalie in the garden. We live in West Auckland, only 30 km from Auckland airport, so perfect for your arrival in NZ to get over your jetlag and organise your admin papers, buy a van etc. or on your departure, giving you time to sell your car/van and still have a roof over your head.

I founded a small community school in Thailand and for three years we had a constant stream of amazing helpers. I could not have achieved what I did without them. I also founded an educational maths charity and a washable period pad charaity that operates in Tanzania, Zambia, and Kenya. I am a vegetarian, who is into mindfulness, breathworks, yoga and also enjoys a laugh. I like listening to the music of most genres, watching a good movie and ...

Come stay on a honey winery within the Greater Toronto Area (GTA). Michele and Gregg operate the farm with Gregg's parents. We have a private guest room along with a separate bathroom. Farmhouse has a swimming pool and is very comfortable. Typical tasks include weeding the berry patches, checking on honeybees, organizing the bee yard and the honeyhouse. Canada's premier polo club is within walking distance next door. There you can watch weekly matches from Canada's best players. Fall is the honey harvest time on the farm. We are 35 minutes from downtown Toronto by car but in the middle of 500 acres of farmland. Public transit is a few km away and high speed wifi internet is available throughout.

Sorry no vacancies from middle 15th may until september PLEASE READ THE PROFILE AND REVIEWS BEFORE YOU APPLY TO VISIT MY PLACE.. You dont need to have an overwhelming desire to save the world, live off the land, or be more useful than a Swiss army knife , to stay here. A nice , honest person is good enough This is a relaxing place, close to nature, away from the backpacker trail on the coast but still got a bit happening, somewhere to recharge your batteries, do a bit of work, have a laugh and meet some real Aussies ,maybe get out of your comfort zone a bit😜 My place is a cattle farm with one farmer, 45 angus cattle, one dog,, lots of birds and wildlife, relaxing place, near KYOGLE, a quiet country town which is 1.5 hours drive west from Byron Bay.
