Hello, we are two friends living here since 4 years My name is Gabriele, 43 (Italian). I'm easygoing and friendly, looking for a simple, independent (as much as I can) and creative way of life. I'm also a traveler who has been volunteering and working around. Clara 34 (Spanish), is also living here, she is kind, funny and really creative. She also is travelling often, so depending on the period, you can find her, me, or both. We are here because we would like to know people and find new human energies to make this place richer. The first and most obvious thing is that both the house and the coexistence need more people, and that is why we have decided to open the house and receive people. There is plenty of space. We have realized that we are not enough to take advantage of this place, and in the long run we hope to be able to share the house with more people wanting to come here and share. We have some creatives spaces for ceramics, hand working, painting, music, video, ...

Hi, we are Swiss couple, Barbra and Roberto and we live in the south of the peloponnes on a large piece of land that has fig, olive and fruit trees. We also have horses and animals so we always welcome help. Mainly we need help in the winter with the olive harvest but in the summer we need people to help us with picking figs as well. There is plenty more to do such as taking care of the animals and building work (currently we are building walls, a cage for pheasants and getting our garden ready for vegetables) and just general help with the upkeep of our land. If you come to stay there is always plenty of space. We have a new stables that has two rooms and a bathroom which you could use or in the summer people often prefer to sleep outside on one of the balconies that overlook the mountains and the sea. We generally prefer people who are able to stay for more than just a couple of weeks. in the beginning of November we are always low on people and we are happy for anybody that can ...

We are in the process of renovating an old house in the Pyrenees. There is only decorating to do such as stripping paint on walls and woodwork, and repainting. We live in a small village with some shops and a climbing centre and a river just opposite the house. We have a quite a size garden where we grow vegetables and fruit bushes and trees. Here, we have spectacular mountain views on our doorstep, hiking trails through the mountains and forests, cycling paths, and skiing in the winter months. We love company of other people, and love having visitors. There would be plenty of chances to be alone, if that is what one is looking for. We offer homestay experience. We can lend you a bicycle to do your own exploring, you can hike, take a bus or train to go further afield. We also like to explore the area and show it to our visitors. We are located 10km from Spain. We have fibre internet. We will share duties such as cooking, cleaning after meals, keeping clean common areas, and colle...

We are both retired and live in a converted barn in about two acres of land. The nearest town is Villefranche de Rouergue which is ten kilometres away. We have lived in France long enough to appreciate what we call proper food so. we strive to vary the diet so that no main meal is repeated for at least 14 days (unless specially requested) It may be French, it may be British, or it may be a mixture of French and British and on occasions you will taste the local delicacies We are very flexible about working hours all we ask is that in return for five hours work per day, five days a week, at a time to suit yourself, we will provide you with good healthy tasty food and a private comfortable room which has TV and en-suite facilities, If you are a couple who wish complete privacy, we could provide you with a separate self-contained apartment. Must be non-smoker and we find that feeding vegans is difficult. Please note. If you want to practice your English, then we are your ideal hosts a...

Hello! We are Charlotte (USA) and Christian (Ecuador), and we have an Ecoculturual Finca outside of Santo Domingo de los Tsachilas, Ecuador. The Finca is about 8 hectares of hilly jungle, filled with cacao, banana, avocado, papaya, coffee, bamboo, sugar cane, and other tropical fruit trees. Christian started this project in 2012 to create a community of people who want to live consciously and in harmony with the natural world. We believe sustainability has an environmental component (we eat vegetarian, use composting toilets, minimize waste, use resources we have on the finca, etc), but that it also has a cultural component; infusing art, cultural exchange, genuine connection, music, inter-generational sharing, and creative problem solving into daily life is important to living sustainably! The hope is that by starting small, by living well on the finca, we can spread an environmental consciousness to our surrounding community, and hopefully beyond. Accommodations: Volunteers stay in ...

I run private English school for children aged between 10 and 19 years old in a small city in West Sumatra. My goal as the principal of the school is to provide youth from my region with the English skills required to communicate better in the modern world, and therefore provide them with better opportunities in their lives. I would like to welcome any fluent English speakers under the age of thirty to come assist my teachers in the classroom. You would help immensely by having simple conversations with the students and give them a real English speaking experience inside or outside the classroom. All the students are very welcoming and curious about my visitors and I am certain that you will have a great experience while interacting with them. You can expect answering all their curious questions, pose for pictures and be invited for lunches, snacks and dinners. Classes in my school run from 2pm to 6pm and mostly consist of two lessons/classrooms per day. I would also like to invite...

Welcome to our wonderful mountains still considered part of Melbourne! If all this sounds of interest, we’d love to hear from you! We can accommodate stays of anything from a week to a couple of weeks/months - let us know what works for you. You are very welcome at our home as long as you have a negative RATS on the day you arrive as we have vulnerable family members. We are a friendly family interested in having a cultural exchange and supporting you during your stay. We basically need help in improving and maintaining the property, help needed would include gardening, painting and general housework. We were a busy couple with a great social life. We need help as we have long-term injuries after car accidents and a large part of our property was destroyed in the June storms in 2021. Sometimes our adult children 28-36 are home and 6 grandchildren under 5. We currently have 1 dog that does not come inside and have a huge yard (in case yo...

Current availability is from now until the end of June. Then from September onwards. Message me for a chat 🙂 Hello! How are you? My name is Andy and I've been hosting people for years now with Helpx and other organisations. If you are seeking a true cultural exchange, want to really improve your English to a more advanced level and you are a person with high expectations of yourself or want to be around people who also want to help you, then please read on. I appreciate spending my time with people who like me want to learn more about this strange and wonderful planet we all occupy. I get on with people who are usually self-transparent, with whom I have common interests, who care about others, and like me want to continually learn more about themselves. I have learned a lot from my time hosting people and my journey continues. I am a well-educated person who believes life is a continual learning experience. We are Sunny from China and Jeff from New York and we live in a small town in Oklahoma called Olustee of about 500 people. Nearby is a city called Altus of 19,000 people with stores, bars, restaurants and entertainment. You are invited to our place, either just to visit or to stay and help out. We have 4 bedrooms for travelers and helpers in our guest house available for you (can accommodate probably up to 10 people) and there is also a game room, swimming pool (in the summer) and basketball court on the property. We are a cultural and arts community that is working towards being self-sustained. The community is situated in the mountains of Monchique, Portugal surrounded by nature. Our community provides an alternative way of living with permaculture gardens, farm animals, sustainability projects, and arts and cultural workshops. It is a great place to come to meet other like-minded people if you are passionate about sustainability and alternative living. We hold community meetings throughout the week alongside activities and workshops, such as quiz nights, dance nights and yoga classes. If you have something you are passionate about and want to share with others, we would love for you to run a workshop. One of the best things here is the variety of tasks you can do as a volunteer, which gives you the opportunity to learn new skills and discover what you enjoy doing most. We have a combination of short-term and long-term volunteers and on average we have between 10 to 20 volunteers and resident...

Gerry and I would love (really need) to have some help with general hospitality duties and gardening. It may be that you are on your way to somewhere else and want a week or two HelpX volunteering enroute or you may want to stay longer. You would have your own accommodation with kitchen and you can either eat with us or we can take you shopping in the local village and market so you choose your own shopping and we pay for it. We are close to the local town, Riberac 24600, that has shops, bars, restaurants as well as horse riding canoeing and lots of wonderful walks. A lot of the work is largely unskilled, ( but we would love it if you can do renovation work) and is about working alongside us rather than working on your own (although if you have special skills we would be happy to assist you) so dont worry if you havent done much helping yet. We can provide all the equipment including gloves and boots. We have been here some years and are technically retired but life is too boring wi...

We are a dad & daughter (16) with a loving, crazy Airedale, living on a 60 acre mountain top with distant 360 degree views of both the Green & White Mountains. From sunrise to sunset we are having fun and loving the land, with tons of hiking/biking trails, and a nearby connection to a 25 mile network. There's generally a refreshing breeze here, but when it gets too warm we head down to our stream & spring fed pond, which is a piece of heaven -- deep and cool. Our whole mountain is magical, with strong meridians, and located in a very artsy & progressive part of southern Vermont. And yes, there's a lot involved in being good stewards, even though we are not a commercial farm, so we have many diverse projects, and you might assist in managing our generous garden, making meals, clearing land, nurturing the flower beds, painting, bucking up or stacking firewood, routine cleaning & maintenance, doing arts & music with Luna, or building a steam hut or other structures, for several hours mos...

I am a principal of a primary school. We have so far 35 foster kids and we would love to have volunteers in our small organisation and at our school. We welcome visitors here and if you want, we can pick you from the airport Entebbe and you can just pay the fuel or when you are already in Uganda and you want to come to Masaka, we can pick you from the bus park in Masaka without pay. So whoever is ready to come is welcome. Due to the inflation and rise of prices of things in Uganda, we will always charge 15 dollars per night, this includes accommodation, local meals, wishing clothes, Water bills, Electricity bills and other simple things that you need help like taking you to town and move around to the place like Lake Nabugabo and for internet use at home.

Gardening, forestry We live in a small cottage on a friendly lake about 3 hours north of Toronto. We have the usual cottage toys available, canoe, small sailboat, row boat. Looking for help with selective cutting trees for firewood and lumber which we cut on our own small mill. Hopefully someone that is a better gardener than we are as we would like to start growing our own produce and maybe even get some chickens. Help with some construction and painting projects. We have some old machinery we are always trying to keep running. We are offering free accommodation and meals in exchange for help. This is a no smoking environment.

This is a Standardbred Horse stud located at the foot of the Tamborine Mountain. Located 45 minutes from Brisbane in the beautiful Gold Coast hinterland. We welcome working holiday visa holders with horse experience and most importantly a passion for horses!! Your role on the farm would be helping with the daily care of our standardbred racehorses, yearlings, broodmares and stallions. Day to day life on the farm is easy going, and we encourage our travellers to enjoy their down time exploring all the area has to offer, such as walks in the national park and rainforest or swimming in the creeks and waterfalls. There will be plenty of time for playing pool, horse riding, swimming in our indoor pool, meeting our lovely big family and getting involved in the backyard cricket matches! We...

Our farm consists of 88 acres; all permanent pasture (except a small wood and kitchen garden). WE farm livestock - about 200 sheep, about 20 Devon cattle, some poultry and a retired sow. We are licenced by the Soil Association and follow their organic standards. We sell our produce in the local Ilfracombe Farmers' Market and on line. Our sheep flocks are kept for the production of lamb and mutton, and also wool, knitting yarn and felted "sheepskins". Our cattle herd is registered with the Devon Cattle Breeders' Society and consists of pedigree polled Red Ruby Devons. They are mainly sold as pedigree breeding stock but we occasionally have a steer killed for beef. We have planted a small orchard of fruit trees, mainly apples, cider apples, pears and perry pears. We have also recently re-introduced beekeeping to our activities and currently have three beehives. Our general aim is to farm in a humane and sustainable way, restore and maintain the traditional landscape features of ...

Hi folks, YES, we achieved a lot since returning from a 3+ year break in Feb 2022, beautifying our wonderful property, something we could not have done on our own. We are thankful for having had great assistance from amazing volunteers over the years, enriching our lives culturally and socially while progressing our beautification projects. We are a fit & energetic older couple with the following background: - Rene, 68yo, Swiss origin, Architect / Photographer / Traveller / Retired Resort Owner & Operator / Retired Tour Operator / Retired Restaurateur / Handyman (DIY Building) / Landscaper / Gardener . - Julie, 64yo, Philippine origin, Chef / Traveller / Retired Resort Owner & Operator / Retired Tour Operator / Retired Restaurateur. We are located on the Vatnsnes Peninsula, 25km north of road no. 1. Ósar ocean beach is full of life. Seals abound and also eider ducks and other birds, and the rock Hvítserkur, which resembles a prehistoric Dinosaur, is within walking distance. The unspoiled nature, peaceful environment and a variety of recreation opportunities makes this an ideal place. In only about 5 min walk you are in unusually close contact with nature. Here guests can see a number of different birds and one of Iceland`s biggest colonies of seals, swimming only a few meters from the beach. We are offering a help exchange, we are offering helpers to come and stay with us in exchange for help on the farm, or with the Hostel.. That could be helping cleaning rooms, or doing reception, on the farm it could be fence work, or helping with the animals. A superb place for nature lovers

We previously lived in Boreen Point on the Sunshine Coast where we hosted many helpers through helpx with amazing reviews over a period of 17years.. Most never wanted to leave. We have now moved and bought an equally stunning property in Far North Queensland in a small country town (Cardwell) on 3 acres 15 minutes from beach. We are located between Cairns and Townsville and just south of Mission Beach. Terry and I are not as young as we used to be and are struggling with maintaining the property. We need help with weeding, mulching, pruning and watering the gardens. We back onto tropical rainforest and creek. Help around the inside of property would also be helpful. You will have your own bedroom and own bathroom (1 queen for couples and 2 queens for singles). The fridge will be stocked for you to prepare your own breakfast and lunch and we all sit together for evening meals which I will prepare. We like to take our boat out as much as possible when weather permits to explore all the ...

Hello! Thank you for reading our profile. Guy, myself and our dog Ava would love to welcome you to our home and community up here in Far North Queensland. A place like no other. On the edge of the rainforest, across the road from pristine waters of Wallaby Creek (croc-free swimming) and some amazing bush walks: there is so much to see and do around here. The Lions Den pub is only a few KM to the north (with live bands playing throughout the tourist season) and is an experience in itself. The southerly route towards the Daintree is currently inaccessible following the recent flooding. In December 2023 our entire area was heavily impacted following our biggest regional flooding event in recorded history, Many homes, possessions and land was lost after water as high as 14 metres swept across our land only a few months ago. Our population is still in shock and in the process of recovery, yet the camaraderie and support for each other is heart warming. On a hill, luckily our home was...

Kia Ora and hi Help-x helpers, We're Chris and Meri. We live on a little farm with some beautiful rural views, native birds & bush and a beautiful little stream that runs through the property where we're gradually restoring the natural environment and habitats. We're interested in all of nature generally, particularly keen on Australasian birds (Australian, NZ and South Pacific Islands) and we're involved from time to time with bird conservation and ornithological projects. We run a little flock of South Suffolk Sheep, we have free Range Brown Shaver Chickens, some Khaki Campbell Ducks (perfect eggs for baking!), have a pair of very rare Cape Barren Geese and we also have a little fruit tree Orchard too. We enjoy cooking and sharing good food (and favourite recipes) with others and your stay wouldn't be complete without experiencing a few of Meri's traditional yummy Indonesian styled dishes. We share making meals together and welcome helpers to help make some of the meals too 😋. ...

We would like help with cleaning of guest rooms, cooking, painting of walls and murals, some light construction work (very simple, you don't need to know anything), fixing bicycles for the neighborhood kids as well as maintaining the pool (in the summer).

Our hosting, as well as workflow, is intermediate, as such, we may have breaks in between and preferences & requirements may change. With most of the earlier days' heavy lifting on structural projects done, our current projects are more along fine-tunin...

We share making meals together and welcome helpers to help make some of the meals too 😋. ...
