We are in the process of renovating an old house in the Pyrenees. There is only decorating to do such as stripping paint of walls and woodwork, and repainting. There might be the occasional carpentry to do also, nothing too complicated. We need help 5 hours per day, five days per week. Weeding, pruning trees, making paths. We are looking for help from two strong and healthy individuals to assist with a house redecorating project and gardening, trimming trees, path making etc. This requires physical strength and stamina. PLEASE NOTE WELL: we absolutely cannot host anyone with any pre-existing health issues, physical or mental (we are not medically trained to manage such conditions), such as hay fever, any other allergies, sensitivities or intolerances. We live in a small village with some shops and a climbing centre and a river just opposite the house. We have a quite a size garden where we grow vegetables, fruit bushes and trees. Here, we have spectacular mountain views on our do...

After an intense house renovation, we are now entering the final phase, focusing on cleaning and refreshing the house. From APRIL (for about one month), we are looking for help with PAINTING work inside and outside, as well as some light gardening tasks such as weeding. This period is ideal for someone who enjoys practical, hands-on work and likes to see visible results at the end of the day. From JUNE onwards, as the weather becomes warmer, the help will mainly consist of daily HOUSEKEEPING tasks (cleaning, ironing), with occasionally some light gardening. We’ve found that this experience works best for people who enjoy staying active and contributing in a practical way to daily life. We truly appreciate volunteers who bring positive energy, a hands-on mindset, and a genuine willingness to help. We are a Belgian family who has been living in France for over 20 years. In our late fifties, we speak French, Dutch, English, and a bit of Spanish. Our home is located in the beautiful r...

Hey, hello you ! We are Caro and Chris, Zion and Kiara. We were travelling around the world since a gorgeous time until all this virus craziness happened. Caro, then Chris & Caro were backpacking, doing hitchhiking, etc... The beautiful wildlife. Then kids arrived in 2017 and 2019 so we mainly stayed travelling in Europe by van until they will be able to carry a little backpack ;) When the virus arrived, we were crossing Sweden. Everything became complicated with borders, shops and people so we decided to enjoy the strange time to build our home. We bought an over 300 years old stone house on a big peace of land which were abandoned and this new adventure started. Bretagne is a nice place full of culture, traditions, nice villages, forest and legends and history, and surrounded by the sea. After being helpers ourselves, we now want to be hosts too. We loved it so we expect people love it here too. Our kids are homeschooling with mainly their mother and we would be happy to have Eng...

We are restoring an old traditional Béarnaise house located at the foot of the Pyrenees in the Ouzom valley. We want to share it with people who can help us with the garden as well as with the house to maintain or restore it. Assistance activities concern the maintenance or restoration of buildings (lime plaster, carpentry, plumbing, electricity, etc), maintenance of the garden (brush clearing) and its vegetable garden, whether it is windy or raining, depending on the projects in progress and the skills of each. Slug hunting to be planned every evening at nightfall. Once a week a complete cleaning of the premises will be carried out by all. We ask for 5 hours help a day, 5 days a week. We offer accommodation in a large 4-bed dormitory. Please, bring your work gloves and clothes , if you have any. Everyone must be autonomous and responsible enough to know how to clean and store the tools or things they have used, as well as to participate daily, outside helping time, in all the househo...

Hello! Would you like to stay in a villa by the sea? I offer free accommodation in exchange for a few hours of help. The villa is located 15 minutes from Ajaccio. It has bedrooms with private bathrooms, a gym with a spa, a jacuzzi in a landscaped garden, large terraces and a swimming pool. The beaches are just a short walk away, with small coves and natural pools directly opposite the villa. The panoramic sea views and sunsets make the setting particularly idyllic. Simply indicate your available dates in your request. The help mainly involves cleaning, cooking, garden maintenance or small painting jobs. Hello, we have a small 3-hectare farm with a vegetable garden, a few fruit trees, and 250 lavender plants. The work is not at all difficult; it consists of watering the vegetable garden every day, which takes about two hour. During the summer, we water the lavender plants twice a week .we need a girl or women as Yoko is Japanease origine feel uneasy with men. There’s also some work involved in tending to the plants or harvesting sometime in season . Other than that, if we’re away, you’ll be looking after our mini rooster and his two chicken for the moment . We also have a very sweet girl cat. Please note that our land is certified organic. It’s located on the edge of a national park, with the option to go for bike rides on a 60-km-long flat, sandy “greenway.” We use water from a groundwater source 110 meters deep—absolutely pure. We are a vegetarian couple; we use soy milk and vegetable butter. If you prefer vegan options, we can provide meals without eggs or dairy. Please do not smoke...

We are both retired and live in a converted barn in about two acres of land. The nearest town is Villefranche de Rouergue which is ten kilometres away. We have lived in France long enough to appreciate what we call proper food so. we strive to vary the diet so that no main meal is repeated for at least 14 days (unless specially requested) It may be French, it may be British, or it may be a mixture of French and British and on occasions you will taste the local delicacies We are very flexible about working hours all we ask is that in return for five hours work per day, five days a week, at a time to suit yourself, we will provide you with good healthy tasty food and a private comfortable room which has TV and en-suite facilities, If you are a couple who wish complete privacy, we could provide you with a separate self-contained apartment. Must be non-smoker and we find that feeding vegans is difficult. Please note. If you want to practice your English, then we are your ideal hosts a...

Our home is a lively, creative hub—a blended Dutch-French family where English is spoken by all. We heat with a central wood-burner, grow our own organic vegetables, and operate on a circular water system where greywater and rainwater are filtered through natural phyto-basins. **Your Stay with Us** We offer a unique stay in either a cozy camper-van or a room in our house. There is space for camping. The outdoor sanitary building features a dry toilet, and you're welcome to take a refreshing dip in our natural, plant-filtered swimming pool. Hello, we are Cat and Silvan, who is 6 years old. We live on an organic permaculture farm in the Pyrenees in the south of France. The property is situated in a small hamlet of 8 houses bordering a wild forest including chestnut, ash, oak, acacia and cherry. We grow much of our own fruit and vegetables and collect hazelnuts, walnuts, mushrooms and wild herbs from the forest. I cut my own wood and much of the wood used in the construction has been harvested from the land. We have 5 goats and friends graze their horses during the summer months. I enjoy eating fresh food from the garden and like to be creative with dishes with what can be sourced locally rather than necessarily going to a big supermarket. We buy locally and organic where possible to supplement what we have in the garden. When there are more of us here we often do a rotation of cooking, which is great as we get to taste each others variations and be inspired. If you are not confident in cooking don't worry, it is a gre...

Hi! I'm Elena, and I live in the south of France, not far from Carcassonne. I haven't used HelpX for more than 10 years, but I recently broke my ankle, so I suddenly have a lot more free time. I'm looking for someone who would enjoy exploring the area, helping me improve my garden and terrace, and giving me a hand with light household tasks such as cleaning, cooking, watering the plants, and similar things. I don't have a lot of tasks to do per day, more like 2 -3 hours a day. The rest of the time, you're free to explore the region. I'll be happy to show you the best parts of the region, I also love to cook together. You can use my bicycle, and if we build mutual trust, you may also use my car. In the village you'll find two small museums, beautiful walking trails, vineyards and fields, a grocery shop, a greengrocer, two cafés, a pizzeria, a cinema, a wine cellar, a bakery, and more. There are also caves to visit and mountains nearby. There is public transport as well, although...

We're Manon, Alessandro and Brioche (I'm a dog) a little young family passionate about nature, travelling, independence, regenerative practices, agriculture, farming, gardening, trekking and life. After almost 10 years of working and travelling overseas we felt the the needs to set roots and to transform our dream in to a reality. We bought an old farm stable in ruins (dry stone building) inside a very small village and a few hectares of old chestnuts forest next to it. On one side we want to restore the old building using eco techniques, as much as we can, to transform it in to our house and on the other side we are developing a syntropic garden, a little orchard based on agroforestry systems principles that will also be applied to some parts of the chestnuts forest. We're located in South Ardèche, near the town of Joyeuse. The place is famous for its rivers, canyons and forests with plenty of hiking and biking trails, bathing spots, canyoning, rafting, climbing spots, old small vil...

We are a French/Australian artist couple, living 8 months of the year in France, in our two-storey stone Provencal “mas”. Navacelles is a small village in the South of France, an hour's drive North of Nimes and an hour's West of Avignon and only 30 minutes from the famous medieval town of Uzes. Our “mas” has been undergoing massive renovations after having been abandoned for 19 years. After 7 years tof intensive renovation, we have completed 90% of it as well as the landscaping and it is now looking stunning and is very comfortable. We are now planning the last stage of the renovation process. The structural work (new roof and new slab poured on part of the upper floor will be done by a builder this winter. However, comes April 27, we will take over and finish all the interior. We are both visual artists with many years of renovation experience and are looking for help with both the garden maintenance and the building renovation. So experience and skills in these areas would be welc...

Hello, and thank you for looking at our page/profile! We are looking for a helper (1 person) during the summer (2026) for a 2 week period, maybe longer. Starting in June and continue through the summer and fall. We would like help inside and outside and with plenty of gardening and watering of the garden. Outdoor work includes keeping the gardens tidy, cutting and trimming of trees and mowing the lawn. Also the helper must be able to lift and haul fireplace wood and (ideally) know the use of a chain saw but not necessary. All these tasks we do together. Further work includes simple window washing, exterior window and door painting. Saturday house cleaning, gardening, pool cleaning, ironing sheets for the rentals, etc. We are chefs from New York City so we offer great food and comfortable accommodation though we do not do cooking classes to our helpx friends. In the summer time when weather permits, you have a deluxe caravan for your home. You must be very neat and punctual for work...

All our summer visitors have come and gone, as, hopefully has the unbearable heat. Time to get a few things in order around the garden and the petit bricolage and hoping for some assistance! . As ever, there is plenty to keep one busy, but plenty of time to enjoy this wonderful part of the world. We would be delighted to welcome a single or couple willing to help us around the place. We look forward to hearing from you, and are ready to welcome you soon. Best wishes David and Helen

Hello! We’re Clara and Fabien. After having some amazing experiences abroad as HelpX helpers ourselves, we thought it was time to become hosts and welcome travellers into our home. We live in a small mountain village in the heart of the Ariège Pyrenees. If you enjoy nature and being outdoors, you’ll probably love it here. In winter, there are ski resorts nearby, snowshoeing, beautiful walks, and plenty of hiking trails starting right from the village. We can host one person or a couple. We’re not looking for perfect helpers—just people who are easygoing, respectful, curious, and happy to share a bit of their daily life with us. During the winter season, we’ll need some help with our Nordic hot tubs. The work is pretty straightforward: getting the tubs ready for guests, carrying and stacking wood, keeping the area tidy, and helping with a few everyday tasks. We’ll explain everything, so no experience is needed. In exchange, we’ll share meals, spend time together, and happily show y...

Hello! We are Andrew and Gail We are a British couple who made the move to France many years ago in search of a different way of life. What began as an adventure renovating old buildings by ourselves has grown into a life we love in the beautiful Livradois-Forez Regional Natural Park, one of France's best-kept secrets. Before settling here, we spent years traveling, volunteering, and exploring different cultures. We spent extensive time on the road traveling by motorcycle, volunteering on community projects, and meeting wonderful people along the way. Those experiences taught us how rewarding cultural exchange can be, and they continue to shape the way we welcome helpers today. For more than twenty years we have been exploring and falling in love with this remarkable region. We now run three holiday homes in and around the village of Le Monestier, welcoming guests who come here to enjoy nature, walking, cycling, photography, local culture, and the simple pleasure of being surrounded ...

Hi, my name is Claire, I'm 49 and I live in a charming hamlet in the Dordogne countryside. I have an orchard, a small henhouse with two chickens, and a small vegetable patch. I have two children (14 and 21) but they may not be present during your stay. We have two cats. The setting is very pleasant, very green and touristy, with many places to visit: castles, swimming spots, farmers' markets, forest walks... After an unsuccessful project, I'm in need of help to clear, sort, tidy and maintain the house and grounds. I'm a handywoman with an ecological bent, and can pass on a few skills: sewing, crocheting, knitting, embroidery, drawing, recipes for eco-friendly household products, etc. There is Wi-Fi in the house for communication. The train station is a 20-minute drive away. There is no transport, so I'll be your “cab” if you don't have a car. I can lend bicycles. I'd be delighted to share and exchange, as I like to create links. If you'd like, I'll help you discover the festive events ...

My husband and I are in our early 60s but still very active. We have a large stone house in the Cevennes national park and we're looking for help keeping the land at bay! We also have a few projects like laying paving and renovating our shutters, which we would like to do over this autumn period. On any (rare) wet days there are always projects inside the house, including painting ceilings and walls and removing some damaged plaster from the walls in one room. We would ideally like someone who can help with manual work (I have had an operation on my shoulder so I'm left doing cooking duties), for instance helping my husband to renovate our terrace roof. We think there is about 2 weeks' work. I am a retired Music and English teacher as well as having done 18 years in the Finance sector as HR Manager for my sins. My husband is a retired IT and Project Manager for large events having survived the rock and roll era touring with various bands. We have an independent apartment with full Wi...

PLEASE NOTE THAT WE ARE NOT CURRENTLY LOOKING FOR HELPERS We’re a family of three humans and three charismatic pups, living in a beautifully renovated farmhouse in the picturesque countryside of Normandy. After taking on the challenge of transforming what was once a shell of a house into the warm and welcoming home we now enjoy, we’re looking for a lovely volunteer to help us with the final touches. We’re just a short car journey from the coast, where sandy beaches and fascinating history await. Volunteers will have opportunities to explore the local area - whether enjoying the many beautiful walks around us or travelling further afield to visit the famous D-Day beaches. If you’re looking to escape to a place of serenity and comfort, La Houssaye offers exactly that. Volunteers will stay in our fully renovated, self-contained cottage, La Porcherie. Located away from the main house, it provides privacy for up to two guests and a lovely space to relax both indoors and outdoors. With Wi...

We are located near the foothills of the Pyrenees in the region of Occitania (formerly Languedoc-Roussillon) in the department of Aude. We speak several languages including English, French and Spanish. You will have lots of free time to explore this very beautiful and interesting region of France. We have no animals and cannot host pets. We need people who have experience and can help with stream restoration before the rains and winter floods come; the water level is presently low enough to reach the parts needing work, but this may not last for long. There is also a fallen tree that needs to be to removed from last year's floods. Accommodation and basic meals offered in exchange for up to four hours of work per day, 5 days per week. We can also offer a camping place for your tent or camper van in exchange for two hours of work per day, or four hours per day with basic meals and other amenities provided. You can spend your free time going on outings to nearby villages and scenic...

We are a family of 4 starting an around-the-world voyage! We have been lucky enough to have been given guardianship of a 63' ocean-going catamaran called The Spirit of Gaia. It is an amazing boat, with a lot of room on deck, and it sails very well. We are looking for helpers who can be a part of our family on the ship (A love and understanding of children is a must). Our boys are ages 6 & 7. They love people and are very social. They have big imaginations and enjoy learning new things. We would love helpers who could possibly teach them cultural things like music, sports/athletics, cooking, dancing and languages (especially Spanish), though anyone interested in helping us teach them traditional academic subjects is welcome as well. We would prefer helpers who can stay at least 2 weeks. Most of the time the boat will be at anchor, though we will try very hard to go sailing at least once or twice while helpers are here (we want to see and visit different places too!) :) We wi...

A transfer from the airport or port can be arranged depending on availability, during the daytime only (details available on request). The minimum stay is one week. Simply indicate your available dates in your request. The help mainly involves cleaning, cooking, garden maintenance or small painting jobs. It represents around four hours per day, with the option of grouping the work into one full day every other day. The rest of the time can be spent enjoying Lava’s large beach, the coves in front of the villa, the hiking trai...

**A Sustainable Family Haven in the South of France** Nestled in a beautiful, old stone farmhouse on the edge of the Cevennes National Park, our family is on a continuous journey towards a more conscious and sustainable lifestyle. We are passionate about reusing materials, reducing waste, and living in harmony with our stunning natural environment between Provence and Ardèche. Shared vegan meals, prepared with produce from our garden and local m...

Hello, We are a family who have been living in Brittany for a little over a year, specifically on Cap Sizun, west of Douarnenez.
