We live a simple but calm lush tropical Darwin suburban house, right near the beach, a corner shop, and a few hundred metres from buses that take 10 or 15 minutes to the city. There is are vibrant weekend Asian food markets on the weekends close by. We normally prefer people to stay for 5 days to a week. We are open to longer stays as well . There is unlimited wireless internet and a big new pool to cool off in . Our attitude is relaxed and easy-going but lifestyle is quite varied with busy periods, so guests need to be fairly flexible and self-sufficient, able to cook their own meals, etc if needed, and have few demands. We generally go to bed reasonably early as we have two children. We offer our hospitality in exchange for 4 hours work per day with meals, dishes, housecleaning, gardening, house repairs, painting, etc to assist us in getting things done. Come and check out Darwin!

PLEASE READ MY WHOLE HOST PROFILE BEFORE YOU APPLY TO VISIT MY PLACE AND ASK ABOUT ANYTHING YOUR NOT CLEAR ON Not much work to do here now, so I mostly only take 1 person at a time. Not the place just to get a free room.for a while, but also not the place if you get bored easily You don't need to have an overwhelming desire to save the world, live off the land, or be more useful than a Swiss army knife, to stay here. A nice honest person is good enough. This is a relaxing place, close to nature, away from the backpacker trail on the coast but still got a bit happening, somewhere to recharge your batteries, do a bit of work, have a laugh and meet some real Aussies, maybe get out of your comfort zone a bit😜 My place is a cattle farm with one skinny, old farmer, one dog, some cattle, lots of birds and wildlife, relaxing place, near Kyogle, a quiet country town, which is 1.5 hours drive west from Byron Bay. Two hours south of Brisbane by train. Very close to the beautiful Border Rang...

Beautiful 56 acre mountainous property, completely off grid with a small hardwood house /cottage that I have built using milled wood from trees on the property , with lovely views everywhere . Also doing a lot work to improve the land and infrastructure. There are over 4 kilometers of walking trails through gorgeous forest, on this completely vegan property, with mountainous views all over ranging from 150 to 230 meters above sea level. The beautiful forest trails have old growth national park like forest at the very top. Lots of wildlife to see , with all kinds of exotic birds , including families of black cockatoo’s which live here in the pine’s, and beautiful little kingfisher birds, yellow robins, willy wagtails and kookaburras to name a few. We have recently found koalas living on the property in the flooded gum trees, with many wallabies and goanna’s are everywhere in summer ! Lots of lovely contemplative spots to relax , . Located 12 minutes the pristine beach’...

Hi beautiful people! I’m Christine, a happy spirited former language and arts teacher working across two continents. Since I retired I work in the natural health field. I live on an urban block called The Roo‘s Pouch, where I maintain a sustainable vegetable garden and created a community of nice people living with me. I live in one of the three buildings on this sunny property which runs on rainwater harvesting. We avoid chlorine and contaminates by filtering, harmonizing and ionizing our water. So water conservation is part of life for me. The corner block is in a suburb of Maryborough. There are 3 beautiful public parks surrounding with lots of kangaroos hopping peacefully around, near to the Mary River. The historic city of Maryborough has a lot to offer and is the home town of Mary Poppins. We are only 30 min by car from the ocean in Hervey Bay with wale watching when in season. Hervey Bay is at the doorsteps of Fraser Island/K’Gari. I offer for single or couple a bedroom wit...

We ALWAYS need some able bodied helpers with assist with goat feeding and some light garden maintenance on my son's farm.. I have loved planting a garden there for them as they are so busy developing their beautiful farm. We favour couples with their own transport if possible. Our son and his family have a small mixed farm of 60 acres nearby (approx 25 hectares) which they are tirelessly working on to develop it as a farm stay with miniature cattle and goats, chickens, two riding horses, ducks and guinea fowl. etc. along with an abundance of local birds and animals. We put his Instagram and Facebook links below. There are a multitude of small jobs needing to done, attending to the animals welfare as well as in the developing garden. The work is not hard with small weeds etc needing to be removed, easy work but rewarding. You will be housed and fed at our home in Coffs Harbour and do one full days work (usually 6-7 hours) at our house or on the farm and have the next day off to exp...

I live on one acre of land, about 5k's out of Cooroy, where buses and trains are available, plus a supermarket, library and several shops. The help I am seeking is to do with keeping the property tidy. My pet dog does not venture into areas that guests are likely to be using. Guests are welcome to use cooking equipment, cutlery, crockery and glassware. I can make one shelf available in my fridge, and guests can use my washing machine. I do NOT have a microwave. I can supply breakfast and an evening meal for a small fee or other arrangement. Please ask if you have any further questions.

Taking HelpXers from early April 2026! Welcome to Geelong and the Surf Coast! We would love to welcome helpers to our Honeysuckle House - a five bedroom home in a quiet court. We have a guest room with queen bed and a private toilet/shower available for 1-2 people. Some examples of jobs that we need help with include: - reviving the veggie garden - tending to the garden (cottage plants and flowers) - cooking and baking (if you're into that) - oiling the deck - general house cleaning and fixing bits and pieces. - open to other creative projects around the house and garden We are asking for about 20 hours per week in exchange for food, accommodation and wifi. I live between a yacht on Sydney Harbour and a house in a tall eucalyptus forest on the mid north coast of NSW, and need some assistance in working on the house and on another yacht. I'm a carpenter who worked with National Parks and Wildlife for 25 years before retiring, and live with a small dog Billy. I've had many helpers come stay over the last few years and have been lucky to have so many interesting travellers stay. My yacht, is currently on the hard at Whoota, where we are renovating her while helping with work on her. I often take helpers out sailing to see the magnificent Sydney Harbour Bridge and Opera House but this is not possible while she is being worked on. Yet, I hope to invite helpers out when she is back in the water. The house is located in Whoota, near Forster. It is surrounded by forest and located a 10 minute drive from pristine beaches, lakes, and bushwalks. There a lots of dolphins to see and beautiful areas to explore. The work we are doing on the house ...

We live in a fun share house in Maryborough, Marry Poppins Town, with awesome meals and a big edible garden. We're Mars, the owner of the property and Tracy, a former theatre/restaurant owner who's cooking the most awesome meals and looking after everyone like a mum. There're 2 adorable dogs in the family, so you must be a dog lover. Also 6 chicken, so we always have fresh eggs. We need help with building and creating, and with an awesome but overgrown edible garden. We're about to get ducks in addition, we're about to put 12v solar power into the rooms, also natural air-conditioning and are finishing up the spa bath in the 2nd bathroom... so there's a bit for you to learn and lots of knowledge to take home. We like to work with fun and laughter and love to see you letting a bit of your craziness out. Be yourself and join the family... We have had awesome experiences with travellers so far 😃. Please note that there's a minimum of 1 week stay, we do not like to be used as a pit...

Hi Everyone We are a Mixed farming enterprise. We have Cattle and seasonal cropping. We have 2 resident working dogs. The home and accommodation are on the Beach front in a small coastal town. The beach front home is only 100mts to the ocean so great for all beach activities out the front gate. There is Separate accommodation to main house with amenities. Work will involve travelling to the properties to help inspect livestock waters and wellbeing. Other jobs include feeding stock, gardening, marking calves, shifting hay, loading hay so being able to drive a tractor is an advantage but not essential. Hello! Thank you for reading our profile. Guy, myself, and our dog Ava would love to welcome you to our home and community here in Far North Queensland — a place like no other. We live at the northern edge of the Daintree Rainforest, beside the pristine waters of Wallaby Creek, which is safe for swimming, and surrounded by beautiful bush walks. There is so much to enjoy here. Just a few kilometres north is the famous Lions Den Hotel, which offers live music during the tourist season and is a true local icon. Heading south through the Daintree to Port Douglas, you’ll find some of the most breathtaking coastal scenery in Australia. On your days off, we’d be delighted to take you exploring through the hills and show you some of the amazing places only locals know about. Living in the tropics means we experience severe weather events fairly often, especially during the wet season, with heavy rain, flooding, and cyclones. Fortunately, our home is on a hill and has remained safe. We are p...

Vacancy from Tuesday 2 April. We require help with DIY repairs and maintenance, timber work, upgrading a dinghy to fit a roof and remote steering, repairs to trailer and for help with early morning gardening, housekeeing, cooking and dog walking on the beach. We are looking for reasonably good DIY handymen and women, capable of working effectively, when necessary, on your own or as a pair and, ideally, someone who also has some gardening experience, but that is not really necessary, learn on the job! 😉👍. So you need to be a "morning person" who is happy to start work at 07.00 hr, at least five mornings a week, not a night-owl. This is to avoid the heat of the afternoons at this time of year, mornings ca n be beautiful. Much of the work will be outside, based out of a well-equipped, air-conditioned, woodworking workshop and/or in our vegetable garden and hen and duck coops, just over 100 meters from a very quiet, sandy beach.🧜♂️ Opportunities on your day off include fishing...

We are a fit and active couple in our 70s who have recently bought a home (2021) right by the water on Lamb Island in Moreton Bay, 30km from Brisbane. It has great views over the bay and has good access to fishing, crabbing, safe swimming and boating. There is a fast and regular ferry to the mainland that takes 20 minutes. There are also several other islands nearby that can be explored including North Stradbroke Island that has wonderful beaches and walks and lots of wildlife including koalas, kangaroos, turtles and dolphin and - from June to October - humpback whales. Over the next two years we will renovate and paint the home, install new kitchen and two bathrooms. Graham has some woodworking skill but needs help during that time with various tasks and we are willing to give you a comfortable bed, good food and company and access to bathroom and washing machine in exchange for 4 hours help per day, 5 days per week. Our preference is for a single person or couple who have some skil...

We are looking for help to mulch orchard prune trees, genral gardening, spliting banana suckers and spliting stacking firewood. Preparing vegetables gardens and composting. **Note: We generally like people to stay longer term, a minimum of 4 weeks, so you get use to our farm and learn how we do things. You will get the most from your stay with us if you are hands on and get involved and interested in everything we do. Please if you are only interested in a free place to stay you are better looking elsewhere. The value equation only works if you place value on the experience and learning while with us.***** About Our Farm Hamish purchased the original farm in December 2010. In the few years Hamish and Nicole lived there they worked towards self sufficiency on the smallholding of 2 acres. In August 2014 Hamish and Nicole purchased and moved to a new farm of 2.5 acres at Summerholm Queensland. Hello, I’m David! I have sold my coffee shop after 45 years in the hospitality trade, where travelling workers would once work, however I STILL offer helpers the same excellent own room lodging as homestay & great food in exchange for a little light work and some social contact. I live close the train station and bus stop and am a 30 min trip by train to Melbourne City. There is a vehicle to drive locally if are appropriately licensed. You are welcome to use it. I go to the outback in western New South Wales about 3 times a year for the purpose of experiencing the beautiful "timeless land" of Australia and to legally hunt feral animals which endanger our wildlife. I often take workers to the outback so they can have a taste of the real Australia and I can assure that none of the numerous helpers/woofers I have taken over a many year period did not thoroughly enjoy it. . However the choice is theirs whether they accompany myself or whether they stay and "mind the house" I also oft...

Join us on our 6acre property, 30min inland from beautiful Pambula on the South Coast of NSW! We are after some help maintaining our property. This can involve anything from planting out the vegetable garden, to lawn mowing and cooking. All that's needed is a 'can do' attitude, a willingness to learn and a good sense of humour. Keep in mind that we do have two dogs, two cats and a whole bunch of chickens - so being an animal lover is a bonus! In return we offer accomodation, food and frequent trips in and around the valley to ensure that you get the most out of your stay on the Sapphire Coast. Our area is renowned for its pristine coast line, native animals and plants, and its untouched wilderness. A 1-2 week stay is ideal, with the option of extending. My 21 year old son lives with me part time inbetween bee keeping and studying, and my daughter and her family live on the coast - so there's plenty of family meals and adventures! We have a lot of experience hosting, but haven't for a ...

Hello travellers! We’ve recently built a wonderfully energy efficient passive solar house, complete with off-grid solar for all our energy needs, rain water collection for all our water needs, and a worm farm waste management system for natural black and grey water processing. We’ve put a lot of work in to achieve a fossil-fuel-free, all-electric, household, with as small an environmental footprint as possible. We’re also lucky to live in a beautiful rural/coastal area near Inverloch, Victoria, approximately 1 hour 45 minutes south-east of Melbourne. We are close to some of Victoria’s most famous wildlife and wilderness attractions, including the Penguin Parade at Phillip Island, the Koala Conservation Reserve, and hiking and camping at Wilson’s Promontory (not to mention numerous local beaches and fishing spots only 10 minutes away!). With our house complete, we’re now working to progress the landscaping aspects of our project. We’d be very appreciative of a helping hand or two to ...

We bought this big old house about a year ago, and we are struggling to keep up with gardening, cleaning and maintenance. We would love some help! Work can be flexible! We want our helpers to feel like they can spend their day how they like, and choose when they feel like working. If you want to work all day for a few days and...

Hi, we’re Terry (64) & Tricia (56)! We live on a beautiful 5 acre lifestyle property in Yandaran, about 35 km north of Bundaberg. Yandaran is a small rural village surrounded by farmland, offering a relaxed country atmosphere. We love showing people around our wonderful area - you can enjoy fishing, catching mud crabs, exploring freshwater river crossings, and visiting a beautiful beach only minutes away. We’re looking for some help putting the finishing touches on our property- small fencing jobs for animal yards, establishing lawn and garden areas and a few homestead projects. We offer accommodation in our 21 foot caravan, complete with own toilet and bathroom. We haven’t hosted for a few years, but we have previous experience as hosts and made many friends around the world because of it - and we look forward to meeting many more!

Set in a hidden valley of Woonona, this 1 acre oasis is on a journey from forgotten, overgrown grassland to Permaculture wonderland! Over the next two years we will renovate and paint the home, install new kitchen and two bathrooms.
