It looks like we are full until at least mid July but you are still welcomed to make inquiries about future dates. We appreciate help with DIY construction, repairs and maintenance, timber work, boat work, metal work repairs to trailers and for help with gardening, housekeeing, cooking, duck and chicken rearing and dog walking on the beach. Fishing, snorkelling, and rainforest walks can help occupy your spare time. We are looking for reasonably good DIY handymen and women, capable of working effectively, when necessary, on your own or as a pair and, ideally, someone who also has some gardening experience, but that is not really necessary, learn on the job! 😉👍. So you need to be a "morning person" who is happy to start work at 07.00 hr, at least five mornings a week, not a night-owl. This is to avoid the heat of the afternoons at this time of year, mornings ca n be beautiful. Much of the work will be outside, based out of a well-equipped, air-conditioned, woodworking worksho...

This is a Standardbred Race Horse (Harness Racing) farm at the foot of Tamborine Mountain. Located 45 minutes from Brisbane in the beautiful Gold Coast hinterland. The closest train station is Beenleigh. Your own car is a plus. We welcome working holiday visa holders with good horse experience and most importantly a passion for horses !! In order to learn your daily task, routine and horses personalities, we will ask you to stay a minimum of 3 weeks. Long stays are really welcome. We need to feed and water all the horses again each night before dark. The ideal helpers will be positive, willing and with a some decent english. My husband and I moved to this 240 acre farm in the South Burnett Region of South East Qld 2 years ago and have recently moved into a purpose built cottage (to reduce our footprint) relying on rainwater for the house and bore water for the gardens and to reduce our footprint further we have installed a composting toilet. 40 fruit trees have been planted and raised garden beds made which is the start of our edible oasis. Next on the jobs list is creating wicking beds from IBC totes and fencing the house yard for our two Jack Russell dogs. We have an old thunder box we would like to restore to make into an outdoor composting toilet (let us know if you’re handy on the tools). There’s plenty to do and learn around the farm depending on your ability and interests. Enthusiasm is a must. There’s gardening and learning about soil health, learning how to erect barbed wire and electric fencing, animal husbandry, building, cleaning and general maintenance. There’s always something different g...

One helper for 7 to 10 days or a couple traveling together for 5 to 10 days I am retired and reside on a property situated in the Noosa Hinterlands I have two daughters who live close and two granddaughters who I love to spoil. I also have a large dog who is turning 5 years old and enjoys nothing more than her afternoon walks around the property followed by playtime and then food. The helpers must not be afraid of an extra large dog, she is contained but enjoys interaction with others. Volunteers would experience the joy associated with living on a small acreage property of 28 acres in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland 20 minutes from Noosa and also experience the peace and tranquility that small acreage living has to offer. Hi, it's Stephen and Philamae here. We have a beautiful rural property in Buckland, Tasmania (45mins NE from Hobart airport). The views are stunning - the accommodation is lovely and we are running it as holiday accommodation as we move towards turning it into a funky retreat space. The experience of the place - and Tasmania as a whole - is soul stirring. Lots of beautiful animals surround us - sheep, wallabies, possums, echidnas, bunnies and the occasional deer. A pair of the endangered and majestic wedge-tailed eagles live 1km away and often soar above us. This link has a lot more photos of our place : https://www.airbnb.com.au/rooms/1404048948970319721 (we have a series of 7 wellness retreats running 5 June to end August: see www.sherwoodloves.com.au/retreats-overview ) The next specific needs are: a) any time from now onwards - Mostly cleaning and bedrooms resetting, & some gardening. Generally we like stays of 4+ weeks but in this case we'd also be happy to host for a ...

Hi you young and beautiful travelers, Bundaberg is a less known touristic town, with a mild climate, beautiful beaches and wonderful surroundings. It is also an agricultural country town with many backpackers hostels . With a bit of lack there might be opportunities for paid work on a farm. It’s only 350km north of Brisbane and easily reachable by train. My home is only a few minutes drive from the town center, yet secluded and peaceful, sitting on 2.5 acres. I am looking for people who would like to visit this promising coastal town and help with general house and backyard maintenance, around 4 -5 hours a day, 6 days a week. The person helping me will have a home away from home and a cosy room to rest in. I am hoping he/she will treat the place with respect and consideration, observing the few requirements related to the use of bathroom and kitchen. Otherwise, regretfully, we will have to part ways sooner then expected. A good home cooked meal and an occasional glass of wine is...

Hello travellers! We’ve recently built a wonderfully energy efficient passive solar house, complete with off-grid solar for all our energy needs, rain water collection for all our water needs, and a worm farm waste management system for natural black and grey water processing. We’ve put a lot of work in to achieve a fossil-fuel-free, all-electric, household, with as small an environmental footprint as possible. We’re also lucky to live in a beautiful rural/coastal area near Inverloch, Victoria, approximately 1 hour 45 minutes south-east of Melbourne. We are close to some of Victoria’s most famous wildlife and wilderness attractions, including the Penguin Parade at Phillip Island, the Koala Conservation Reserve, and hiking and camping at Wilson’s Promontory (not to mention numerous local beaches and fishing spots only 10 minutes away!). With our house complete, we’re now working to progress the landscaping aspects of our project. We’d be very appreciative of a helping hand or two to ...

Beautiful 56 acre mountainous property, completely off grid with a small hardwood house /cottage that I have built using milled wood from trees on the property , with lovely views everywhere . Also doing a lot work to improve the land and infrastructure. There are over 4 kilometers of walking trails through gorgeous forest, on this completely vegan property, with mountainous views all over ranging from 150 to 230 meters above sea level. The beautiful forest trails have old growth national park like forest at the very top. Lots of wildlife to see , with all kinds of exotic birds , including families of black cockatoo’s which live here in the pine’s, and beautiful little kingfisher birds, yellow robins, willy wagtails and kookaburras to name a few. We have recently found koalas living on the property in the flooded gum trees, with many wallabies and goanna’s are everywhere in summer ! Lots of lovely contemplative spots to relax , . Located 12 minutes the pristine beach’...

Hi beautiful people! I’m Christine, a happy spirited former language and arts teacher working across two continents. Since I retired I work in the natural health field. I live on an urban block called The Roo‘s Pouch, where I maintain a sustainable vegetable garden and created a community of nice people living with me. I live in one of the buildings on this sunny property which runs on rainwater harvesting. We avoid chlorine and contaminates by filtering, harmonizing, and energizing our own water though Ionisation. Water conservation is part of life for me. You can come to Maryborough via plane, bus or train. The Hervey Bay Airport is only 30min from my home. There are meanwhile several bus companies to choose from. If you use the train please book Maryborough town from the drop down menu. The shuttle bus from the train station in Maryborough west (20 min out of town) is free of charge if it is pre-booked. As international travelers you qualify for a concession card on Queensland tra...

We are offering travelers a warm, comfortable two-story Celery Top Pine Pole home we built ourself. You will enjoy magical views of the ocean and mountain and will wake to the sounds of the wild birds that flock to our food and water bowls. We are regularly visited by possums, wallaby's and various other wildlife. If you're lucky you may even see a Tasmanian Devil. We aspire to a sustainable way of living and adore our large established organic garden, which we are needing help with maintaining. We ask helpers to provide a minimum of 4.5 hrs of work each day for 5 days with two full days off. If you would like a day off after working a few days we ask you to make up the hours on other days. Some helpers also purchase their own food and only work 2.5 hours a day if this suits you better. We are also very flexible and happy to listen to your requests. Previous gardening experience is essential as well as cooking/helping with evening meals, household duties, and other jobs as required...

Mataranka Station is located 90 km south of Katherine in the Northern Territory. Our cattle operation involves low stress stock handling using horses and dogs supplemented with motorbikes and helicopters. If you'd like to help out with some cooking and cleaning but also get a chance to be a part of station life and see what it's all about, there's a place here! Things change on a regular basis depending on the priorities but there are always things to do for anyone that is keen to have a go and experience the vastness of what outback Australia is really about. It's a team environment where everyone pitches in but there will be times when you will be doing things independently. As station life is physical in nature, a degree of fitness and affinity with outdoor living is beneficial. Air-conditioned lodging with shared facilities. We are 10 minutes from Mataranka and Bitter Springs and an easy day trip from Edith Falls, Southern Rockhole and Katherine Gorge. With the wet season comin...

We are 10 minutes from Byron and we can see the famous Byron lighthouse from our front balcony. We love hosting Help X guests. We also need help in managing a 6000 sq meter block with a garden that needs a lot of work and a big house that needs cleaning. Our house has views and a pool and spa as well as a media room, all of which, we share with you. If you are over 25, we may be able to lend you a small Toyota Yaris which is registered for free Byron Bay parking in most places. You can use it for short trips into Byron and but you will need to work out how to share the car and petrol costs if we have several helpers staying. Unfortunately, our insurance does not cover younger drivers and without a car, you may find us too isolated as there is no public transport. We ask for 20 hours of work a week not counting cleaning up after meals and when you are leaving, cleaning the studio or your room. You can either work whenever you choose and record your hours each day...

We are Todd and Wiebke, living just outside Toowoomba in Queensland (about 1.5 hours from Brisbane) on our rural property surrounded by beautiful countryside. Todd is Australian and works in equine bodywork. Wiebke grew up in Germany and works in accountancy. We have both travelled extensively through Europe, South East Asia, Canada and Australia and we truly value cultural exchange and the opportunity to experience everyday local life rather than just passing through as tourists. Our property is currently transitioning from avocado farming into a dedicated equine facility focused on horse wellbeing and performance support. Horses are at the heart of what we do and we are passionate about creating a calm, thoughtful and educational environment around them. What You Can Experience Here: Staying with us offers a genuine rural Australian experience. You can: -Be part of daily life on a small equine property -Learn about horse care, bodywork principles and rehabilitation environments...

We are a fit and active couple in our 70s who have recently bought a home (2021) right by the water on Lamb Island in Moreton Bay, 30km from Brisbane. It has great views over the bay and has good access to fishing, crabbing, safe swimming and boating. There is a fast and regular ferry to the mainland that takes 20 minutes. There are also several other islands nearby that can be explored including North Stradbroke Island that has wonderful beaches and walks and lots of wildlife including koalas, kangaroos, turtles and dolphin and - from June to October - humpback whales. Over the next two years we will renovate and paint the home, install new kitchen and two bathrooms. Graham has some woodworking skill but needs help during that time with various tasks and we are willing to give you a comfortable bed, good food and company and access to bathroom and washing machine in exchange for 4 hours help per day, 5 days per week. Our preference is for a single person or couple who have some skil...

This is very much a cultural exchange (for us and for you) as you will be in our family home sharing our lifestyle. NO SMOKERS OR VEGETARIANS PLEASE. We prefer our helpers to stay 2 weeks or more. Work outside is a major part of what we do so expect to be outside on a rural property as part of the experience. Please message us through this platform to allow us to view your profile The property is located 60km South of Brisbane and 20km West of the Gold Coast on the upper North slope of Mt Tamborine, 320m above sea level.

Your role on the farm would be helping with the daily care of our racehorses. It's an everyday job starting depending of the sun (4.30am in summer and later on winter time). We start each morning training the horses, washing them and feeding them. All the retired horses need to be feed and watered as well. We need to feed and water all the horses again each night before dark. The ideal helpers will be positive, willing and with a some decent english. Because it’s a 30 hec property and there is always some...

Volunteer help for 4 hours per day each person which would including but not limited to gardening, pruning and mulching (must be use to physical work) also some housework and assisting with home cooked Australian meals in exchange for accommodation with own private...

In fact we really like longer stays.....Accom is in a self contained caravan near the house, with all food supplied and sharing some meals with the family, in return for working each morning with us..

If you love wildlife, the outdoors, great views and good food, send us an email (only emails from this site will be responded to). We are surrounded by National Parks and abundant wildlife. The property is 6Ha with a sub-tropical climate and has great country views to the North up to 140km on a clear day. We also have a tennis court (I will always give preference to tennis players who love to cook and eat great food), an outdoor cob pizza oven, chooks/ducks, two Rh...

Fantastic location close to buses and trains (2 minutes walk). We are very close to Sydney centre (10 minutes by train). A big sunny private room is available with a queen size bed.
