My husband and I moved to this 240 acre farm in the South Burnett Region of South East Qld 2 years ago and have recently moved into a purpose built cottage (to reduce our footprint) relying on rainwater for the house and bore water for the gardens and to reduce our footprint further we have installed a composting toilet. 40 fruit trees have been planted and raised garden beds made which is the start of our edible oasis. We live on 47 hectares in beautiful Callignee in the Latrobe Valley. Callignee is only 18 minutes from Traralgon (by car) which has everything that one could need. Shops, cinema, pubs, restaurants and a V-Line train to Melbourne (2 hour trip). Callignee is an area with a lot of wild life. We have resident kangaroos, wombats, echidnas and many different birds. This is a Standardbred Race Horse (Harness Racing) farm at the foot of Tamborine Mountain. Located 45 minutes from Brisbane in the beautiful Gold Coast hinterland. In order to learn your daily task, routine and horses personalities, we will ask you to stay a minimum of 3 weeks. Long stays are really welcome. Your role on the farm would be helping with the daily care of our racehorses. It's an everyday job starting depending of the sun (4.30am in summer and later on winter time).
