I welcome you to my little piece of paradise in a very beautiful and quiet valley. With lots of wildlife, horses, chickens, 3 big dogs, fresh running creek and lots of trees. I have hosted many people since 2012. It was the most wonderful experience and I helped many to stay in Australia as I have a tree farm. All my old helpX helpers have remained friends and we still keep in touch through Facebook from time to time. I have lived here for 16 years and my children have all left home and apart from all my animals it would be wonderful to invite people from all over the world. I can’t travel due to commitments so this would be the next best thing. I would love help with animals, gardening, mowing, slashing paddocks, tree and vegetable planting. Painting, building a new chicken coop and anything else we might think of. I did start a cabin in a secluded spot and would love to continue building it so I can give people a little private place to stay. I’ve lived in France and was bor...

We live on a 5 acre hobby farm in the beautiful Huon Valley, Southern Tasmania. Our family consists of three young adult children (two live at home), two horses, many chickens, ducks, geese, goats and two gorgeous dogs. We grow organic vegetables and breed heritage chickens in an attempt to be more sustainable. Jobs involve general gardening, helping with the animals and housekeeping. If you would like a Tassie small farm experience message us with some details of the work you have previously done. We have separate accommodation, with a bathroom. All our HelpXers have loved working and living with us and I hope you will too (please remember Tassie is a cold place in winter). There are many areas of natural beauty in Southern Tasmania which are all fairly close to us. For example, the Hartz mountains, Hastings Caves and the Tahune Airwalk. We live close to a sleepy village called Cygnet and Hobart is only a 40min drive away. (Unfortunately we can't approve 2nd year visas)

Beautiful 56 acre mountainous property, completely off grid with a small hardwood house /cottage that I have built using milled wood from trees on the property , with lovely views everywhere . Also doing a lot work to improve the land and infrastructure. There are over 4 kilometers of walking trails through gorgeous forest, on this completely vegan property, with mountainous views all over ranging from 150 to 230 meters above sea level. The beautiful forest trails have old growth national park like forest at the very top. Lots of wildlife to see , with all kinds of exotic birds , including families of black cockatoo’s which live here in the pine’s, and beautiful little kingfisher birds, yellow robins, willy wagtails and kookaburras to name a few. We have recently found koalas living on the property in the flooded gum trees, with many wallabies and goanna’s are everywhere in summer ! Lots of lovely contemplative spots to relax , . If you would like a homely, wondrous Blue Mountains experience, nestled in nature, without being surrounded by tourists, you’re welcome to stay with us. You will relax and unwind here, sit in front of the fire in the evenings, drink tea, go on bushwalks, watch the alpacas, and share stories. Then wake to amazing sunrises! Especially quiet for those that have just come from a Vipassana meditation retreat. If you're a rock climber, you can walk to crags at Shipley and Centennial Glen. We have two alpacas, some chickens, and two indoor cats. We live in a new house on a two acres, next to the Blue Mountains National Park. Amazing bushwalks begin at our home. Walk to Govetts Leap waterfall, Evans Lookout, the Grand Canyon, and Blue Gum Forest. We need ENERGETIC help in the yard, mainly splitting firewood. There are lots of small jobs, all requiring good strong MUSCLES. We also need help with BUSH REGENERATION because there are weeds that have invaded the rare and endangered hanging s...

Hi beautiful people! I’m Christine, a happy spirited former language and arts teacher working across two continents. Since I retired I work in the natural health field. I live on an urban block called The Roo‘s Pouch, where I maintain a sustainable vegetable garden and created a community of nice people living with me. I live in one of the buildings on this sunny property which runs on rainwater harvesting. We avoid chlorine and contaminates by filtering, harmonizing, and energizing our own water though Ionisation. Water conservation is part of life for me. You can come to Maryborough via plane, bus or train. The Hervey Bay Airport is only 30min from my home. There are meanwhile several bus companies to choose from. If you use the train please book Maryborough town from the drop down menu. The shuttle bus from the train station in Maryborough west (20 min out of town) is free of charge if it is pre-booked. As international travelers you qualify for a concession card on Queensland trai...

We are a fit and active couple in our 70s who have recently bought a home (2021) right by the water on Lamb Island in Moreton Bay, 30km from Brisbane. It has great views over the bay and has good access to fishing, crabbing, safe swimming and boating. There is a fast and regular ferry to the mainland that takes 20 minutes. There are also several other islands nearby that can be explored including North Stradbroke Island that has wonderful beaches and walks and lots of wildlife including koalas, kangaroos, turtles and dolphin and - from June to October - humpback whales. Over the next two years we will renovate and paint the home, install new kitchen and two bathrooms. Graham has some woodworking skill but needs help during that time with various tasks and we are willing to give you a comfortable bed, good food and company and access to bathroom and washing machine in exchange for 4 hours help per day, 5 days per week. Our preference is for a single person or couple who have some skil...

We can sign off towards the 88 days -Days you are here go toward your visa extension. We had a natural disaster with excessive flooding in 4895 disaster recovery program. There is always something happening on the farm not too stressful. Helpers say our place is a good safe place to visit or start your travels !! . Learn the wild life ,weather, slang or just Hit the reset button🤔😂 , Re boot , Recharge, Re focus & Re access. The area is often referred to as, 'The last frontier', due to the extreme weather & wildlife. Bush walks, Beach combing, Fishing , Nursery work etc take stamina. A small amount of fitness is a MUST. You cannot enjoy the long beach walks or bush walks without fitness. If you are lazy or unfit or just want to sit on your ass and do nothing this is not the place for you. We need helpers who are willing to give anything a go, outgoing, and willing to experience a very different lifestyle. We especially want you if you have INITIATIVE, can help the farm and wor...

I am flexible with my time (especially during the week days) and love to hang out and make new friends.. In the summer I travel around Victoria and Australia a lot, going on road trips with friends and many music festivals -camping in the bush etc.. I am into music (composing/playing); Alternative health / medicine ; Electronics / Engineering / technology ; Anything weird wacky unusual unexplained strange secret, and business combining most of the above, ;) .. The world is full of amazing things and possibilities and Life can never be dull for the seeker with an open mind. Hi, we’re Shari and Ross. We’re both recently retired (pharmacist and nurse), in our 60s, having met while travelling in Tibet nearly 40 years ago. Shari is from New Zealand and Ross is from Australia. Our interest in travel continues, with our focus on Asia and the Pacific, and we have many traveller friends who drop by to stay. Our main interest though is in caring for our land. We live on a beautiful 52 hectare property near Lansdowne on the Mid North Coast, New South Wales. Our land is dedicated to Australian flora and fauna protection, and as such we decided to have the property listed with the NSW Biodiversity Conservation Trust so that its environmental/ecological values are protected in perpetuity. (Think “private national park”). We also have a large productive vegetable garden and extensive orchard, mainly citrus (many varieties), macadamias, mangoes and sapotes. There’s a large deep, clean dam for swimming in the warmer months. Having built everything on the proper...

Room and simple breakfast of toast, tea or coffee, I can show you where to find free bread and there is generally some rice or pasta you can use, occasionally some fruit and vegetables, or other food included but not guaranteed. Ipswich is a lovely place in itself and is about an hours drive to Brisbane, about an hour to the Gold Coast, about an hour and a half to the Sunshine Coast or about an hour to the mountains in Toowoomba. Many visitors to Australia assume it will be hot here and in summer it is, in winter the temperature can be very cold. Make sure to pack some warm winter clothing if travelling in the winter months. I don't have fans or air conditioning so the temperature is what it is. It's hot in summer and cold in winter. Electricity has become too expensive for me to run heating or cooling appliances. I am not on a farm, it is a residential block in Ipswich. My house is small and cluttered and surrounded by trees. I need help to clean my home as I am always busy doing ...

Hi you young and beautiful travelers, Bundaberg is a less known touristic town, with a mild climate, beautiful beaches and wonderful surroundings. It is also an agricultural country town with many backpackers hostels . With a bit of lack there might be opportunities for paid work on a farm. It’s only 350km north of Brisbane and easily reachable by train. My home is only a few minutes drive from the town center, yet secluded and peaceful, sitting on 2.5 acres. I am looking for people who would like to visit this promising coastal town and help with general house and backyard maintenance, around 4 -5 hours a day, 6 days a week. The person helping me will have a home away from home and a cosy room to rest in. I am hoping he/she will treat the place with respect and consideration, observing the few requirements related to the use of bathroom and kitchen. Otherwise, regretfully, we will have to part ways sooner then expected. A good home cooked meal and an occasional glass of wine is...

This is a Standardbred Race Horse (Harness Racing) farm at the foot of Tamborine Mountain. Located 45 minutes from Brisbane in the beautiful Gold Coast hinterland. The closest train station is Beenleigh. Your own car is a plus. We welcome working holiday visa holders with good horse experience and most importantly a passion for horses !! In order to learn your daily task, routine and horses personalities, we will ask you to stay a minimum of 3 weeks. Long stays are really welcome. Your role on the farm would be helping with the daily care of our racehorses. It's an everyday job starting depending of the sun (4.30am in summer and later on winter time). We start each morning training the horses, washing them and feeding them. All the retired horses need to be feed and watered as well. We need to feed and water all the horses again each night before dark. The ideal helpers will be positive, willing and with a some decent english. Hello helpers! We are a family living on a rural property near Lake Barrine, on the Atherton Tablelands. Brett is Australian, Caroline is French, and we have 4 children (7yo boy, 4yo girl, 2yo girl, baby boy). We need help to build our family house! The walls are made of earthbags, which is a natural building technique that anyone can learn. If you're not familiar with it, there's plenty of YouTube videos that can show you quickly how it's done, so you can get an idea. We are using mesh tubes (hyperadobe). We have already built an earthbag dome, and are currently living in it. Rainy days jobs are mostly property maintenance and gardening. We cannot build the earth walls if it's raining. It doesn't matter if you don't have any building or gardening experience, as long as you are willing to have a go. We will work with you most of the time. We will ask you to do about 4h of work a day, in the morning , 5 days a week. But it can be flexible, depending on our schedule. Our accommo...

This is for those of you who plan ahead. We are full until mid July, right at the start of our best fishing season and in the middle of our best weather when at least some of the time we should be cutting great timber from unwanted trees using a 26 inch/56cm bandsaw. So anyone who loves fishing, snorkelling on inshore reefs and is good at DIY or carpentry and loves the simple, quiet, rural life by the beach, next to the rainforest, this is for you 🤗. We appreciate help with DIY construction, repairs and maintenance, timber work, boat work, metal work repairs to trailers and for help with gardening, housekeeing, cooking, duck and chicken rearing and dog walking on the beach. Fishing, snorkelling, and rainforest walks can help occupy your spare time. We are looking for reasonably good DIY handymen and women, capable of working effectively, when necessary, on your own or as a pair and, ideally, someone who also has some gardening experience, but that is not really necessary, learn o...

Currently looking for helpers - July 2026* Minimum stay 4 weeks preferred. We are a small, family-run horse farm at the lower end of the Hunter Valley, NSW. We have a mix of retired racehorses and eventing horses, plus a handful of hairy ponies, and need help in feeding, grooming, and riding horses (for the right, experienced people only) and general property maintenance. This can include anything from painting jumps, picking up horse poo, building fences, clearing fallen trees, to clearing weeds and overgrown areas of bush! We might also ask for help with our active, imaginative, 12 year old daughter; but generally we don't consider child care a job for helpers! Lyndel is a qualified riding instructor, specialising in Eventing, and teaches and trains people and their horses on our cross country course, show jumps, or grass and (floodlit) sand arenas. We have welcomed a number of travellers from all over the world, and offer excellent accomodation and full board in return for help...

Looking for helpers now!! Located in Melbourne's Southern eastern suburbs, only 1 hour by train to Melbourne CBD. We have a hobby farm with 2 cows, goats, alpacas, dogs, and cats. We are best suited to accommodate a couple or 2 friends travelling together and wanting to stay for 2 weeks or more. Helper accommodation is very neat self contained studio style cottage, with your own King Bed, Lounge, kitchen, bathroom and meals area. We would welcome anyone with any handyman skills etc. General duties include caring for the animals, gardening, mowing, weeding, fence repairs, painting, wood splitting and other odd jobs.

Located 12 minutes the pristine beach’...

Beautiful location, FRIENDLY HOSTS. Easy travel to Toowoomba from Brisbane. AVAILABILITY FOR one or two people from September 2025 Australian bushland, in summer teeming with goannas, kangaroos, and sometimes evan a koala. Beautiful views and places to explore. We breed dogs for therapy and assistance work, and have pups that we would love a hand with. We also provide high quality accommodation and training for other breeds of dogs. Lots of socialising and cuddles needed for them, and a hand with the day to day care. We have just finished an awesome Natural Swimming Pool, so great 15 metres of swim distance and beautiful environment. You will learn lots about sustainability and the Australian countryside. Sleeping accommodation is in a lovely new 2 bedroom cottage next to the house, with some meals on your own and social dinners usually with us. We are fine with mixed meals or vegetarian.

There is a comfortable sleep-out available or a room in the main house. The adjacent bush and wetlands provide kangaroos and birdlife for the nature lovers. Helpers may enjoy feeding the sheep and cows or other farm related tasks and there is always firewood to split for the wood stove. The 4 alpacas enjoy some attention too.

We aspire to a sustainable way of living and adore our large established organic garden, which we are needing help with maintaining.

Helpers say our place is a good safe place to visit or start your travels !! .
