Ipswich is a lovely place in itself and is about an hours drive to Brisbane, about an hour to the Gold Coast, about an hour and a half to the Sunshine Coast or about an hour to the mountains in Toowoomba. Many visitors to Australia assume it will be hot here and in summer it is, in winter the temperature can be very cold. Make sure to pack some warm winter clothing if travelling in the winter months. I will introduce you to the wonder that is Dodges Ferry. Dodges Ferry is a village with beautiful beaches, some shops (IGA, Chemist, Bakery, Coffee Shop) and a magnificent community garden. With great cafes overlooking the glorious main beach it is wondrous and relaxed port of call for any traveler. Guest will be able to help with gardening, cooking, cleaning etc. From time to time there will be maintenance jobs (painting, repairs). Preferably work in the morning and then free time after lunch. I offer short stays of 3-4 days. I help at a Coffee Shop at our local community garden where we have music once a month, yoga, ti chi. We are looking for up to 2 people to help feed cattle and sheep, and a handyman that would like to do some building work. We have approximately 2000 hectares of undulating country, situated in the middle of New South Wales. We run sheep, cattle, and do some farming. We run approximately 1500 sheep, which need lamb marking and shearing. With the cattle we have mustering and yard work. We also have daily feeding of calves and lambs. The bee hives need some attention, eg extracting honey, moving boxes around, cleaning area. We also have chickens and turkeys, which need attention daily and working dogs to be cared for. It’s only 350km north of Brisbane and easily reachable by train. My home is only a few minutes drive from the town center, yet secluded and peaceful, sitting on 2.5 acres.
