I have a minimum stay of 2 weeks and a maximum stay of 3 months. Ipswich is a lovely place in itself and is about an hours drive to Brisbane, about an hour to the Gold Coast, about an hour and a half to the Sunshine Coast or about an hour to the mountains in Toowoomba. Many visitors to Australia assume it will be hot here and in summer it is, in winter the temperature can be very cold. Make sure to pack some warm winter clothing if travelling in the winter months. I don't have fans or air conditioning so the temperature is what it is. It's hot in summer and cold in winter. Electricity has become too expensive for me to run heating or cooling appliances. Willunga is a small country town in a wine growing region and is famous for its cafes and Saturday morning Farmers Market. My home is about 45 mins south of Adelaide and a short drive to the beach. I can provide a room within my house for one or two people and delicious vegetarian meals in exchange for working with me on improving my organic garden. We are a fit and active couple in our 70s who have recently bought a home (2021) right by the water on Lamb Island in Moreton Bay, 30km from Brisbane. It has great views over the bay and has good access to fishing, crabbing, safe swimming and boating. There is a fast and regular ferry to the mainland that takes 20 minutes. There are also several other islands nearby that can be explored including North Stradbroke Island that has wonderful beaches and walks and lots of wildlife including koalas, kangaroos, turtles and dolphin and - from June to October - humpback whales. Over the next two years we will renovate and paint the home, install new kitchen and two bathrooms. We live on ten acres in the Noosa hinterland on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland, Australia.
