Our home is in Shailer Park, a Southern suburb of Brisbane between the inner city and the Gold Coast. I have previous experience as a host with HelpX when I lived near Sydney in NSW. It's a quiet safe area and I need help with a gardening project, digging & levelling out soil, arranging some heavy bricks/stones and general tidying up the garden, repotting pot plants ect., plus some small handyman jobs. Most likely a 2 week job. I am a retired female. I have my own ensuite separate to the main bathroom which you will share with one other housemate plus there is an extra toilet downstairs. Help is required 4 to 5hrs per day, Monday to Friday with weekends to yourself and my swimming pool is there for all to enjoy as much as the other communal areas inside. We have the Daisy Hill Koala Centre & Conservation Park in the suburb next door, plus many walking & bicycle trails. A bus trip going North to Brisbane City Centre is about one hour & only 50 cents, and 2.15 hrs by bus, South to...

He enjoys working hard to meet his customers needs and utilising his love of constructing things ;) Helen is normally a personal trainer, gym instructor and head of group fitness at the gym…… yes, a vast world away from recovering from knee surgery. Hi! We are well travelled family of three. Huyen & Michael are self -employed and working from home. We have a small Queenslander about 5km from the Brisbane City Centre. It is a very green and peaceful cul-de-sac. We love living here. However, the house & garden need constant maintenance, and we are struggling to keep on top of it. We have a space downstairs that is self-contained so we occasional host helpx. Our previous helpx loved the space. We are selective of who we invite to our home. You need to be willing to provide preferences & IDs. Carpenters, landscapers, handy persons are very welcomed to apply. We ask for about 3 hours of work a day in exchange for accommodation only or 4 hours with food. We can be flexible on when the work is done according to your needs. Look forward to hearing from you.

Hello, I’m David! I have sold my coffee shop after 45 years in the hospitality trade, where travelling workers would once work, however I STILL offer helpers the same excellent own room lodging as homestay & great food in exchange for a little light work and some social contact. I live close the train station and bus stop and am a 30 min trip by train to Melbourne City. There is a vehicle to drive locally if are appropriately licensed. You are welcome to use it. I go to the outback in western New South Wales about 3 times a year for the purpose of experiencing the beautiful "timeless land" of Australia and to legally hunt feral animals which endanger our wildlife. I often take workers to the outback so they can have a taste of the real Australia and I can assure that none of the numerous helpers/woofers I have taken over a many year period did not thoroughly enjoy it. . However the choice is theirs whether they accompany myself or whether they stay and "mind the house" I also oft...

If you would like a homely, wondrous Blue Mountains experience, nestled in nature, without being surrounded by tourists, you’re welcome to stay with us. You will relax and unwind here, sit in front of the fire in the evenings, drink tea, go on bushwalks, watch the alpacas, and share stories. Then wake to amazing sunrises! Especially quiet for those that have just come from a Vipassana meditation retreat. If you're a rock climber, you can walk to crags at Shipley and Centennial Glen. We have two alpacas, some chickens, and two indoor cats. We live in a new house on a two acres, next to the Blue Mountains National Park. Amazing bushwalks begin at our home. Walk to Govetts Leap waterfall, Evans Lookout, the Grand Canyon, and Blue Gum Forest. We need ENERGETIC help in the yard, mainly splitting firewood. There are lots of small jobs, all requiring good strong MUSCLES. We also need help with BUSH REGENERATION because there are weeds that have invaded the rare and endangered hanging s...

Hi beautiful people! I’m Christine, a happy spirited former language and arts teacher working across two continents. Since I retired I work in the natural health field. I live on an urban block called The Roo‘s Pouch, where I maintain a sustainable vegetable garden and created a community of nice people living with me. I live in one of the buildings on this sunny property which runs on rainwater harvesting. We avoid chlorine and contaminates by filtering, harmonizing, and energizing our own water though Ionisation. Water conservation is part of life for me. You can come to Maryborough via plane, bus or train. The Hervey Bay Airport is only 30min from my home. There are meanwhile several bus companies to choose from. If you use the train please book Maryborough town from the drop down menu. The shuttle bus from the train station in Maryborough west (20 min out of town) is free of charge if it is pre-booked. As international travelers you qualify for a concession card on Queensland tr...

We are a fit and active couple in our 70s who have recently bought a home (2021) right by the water on Lamb Island in Moreton Bay, 30km from Brisbane. It has great views over the bay and has good access to fishing, crabbing, safe swimming and boating. There is a fast and regular ferry to the mainland that takes 20 minutes. There are also several other islands nearby that can be explored including North Stradbroke Island that has wonderful beaches and walks and lots of wildlife including koalas, kangaroos, turtles and dolphin and - from June to October - humpback whales. Over the next two years we will renovate and paint the home, install new kitchen and two bathrooms. Graham has some woodworking skill but needs help during that time with various tasks and we are willing to give you a comfortable bed, good food and company and access to bathroom and washing machine in exchange for 4 hours help per day, 5 days per week. Our preference is for a single person or couple who have some skil...

This is for those of you who plan ahead. We are full until mid August, in the middle of our best fishing season, wind permitting. Its also during what is normally our best weather. At least some of the time we should be cutting great timber from unwanted trees using a 26 inch/56cm bandsaw. So anyone who loves fishing, snorkelling on inshore reefs and is good at DIY or carpentry and loves the simple, quiet, rural life by the beach, next to the rainforest, this is for you 🤗. We appreciate help with DIY construction, repairs and maintenance, timber work, boat work, metal work repairs to trailers and for help with gardening, housekeeing, cooking, duck and chicken rearing and dog walking on the beach. Fishing, snorkelling, and rainforest walks can help occupy your spare time. We are looking for reasonably good DIY handymen and women, capable of working effectively, when necessary, on your own or as a pair and, ideally, someone who also has some gardening experience, but that is not r...

I've previously been a Helpx host with my family winery and vineyard, as well as my farm property south of Adelaide. These days the winery is winding down, but in the past 18 months I've tripled the farm size to 130Ha (325ac). I'm currently growing hay and agisting sheep, with dozens of kangaroos for company. The farm is minutes from Victor Harbor (population 16,000), but the feeling is remote, as neighbouring houses can't be seen. The big projects at the moment are fencing and laying pipework for water for the sheep. There's also things like cutting firewood, machinery maintenance, road building, shed building and looking after a patch of native scrub. I have a covered orchard and the beginnings of a veggie garden, but I have no idea what I'm doing, so someone who could help with that would be much appreciated. The property is off-grid, but has all the modern conveniences of power, water, heating and air conditioning, all of which I've done myself. In the down-time I like to drive...

This is a Standardbred Race Horse (Harness Racing) farm at the foot of Tamborine Mountain. Located 45 minutes from Brisbane in the beautiful Gold Coast hinterland. The closest train station is Beenleigh. Your own car is a plus. We welcome working holiday visa holders with good horse experience and most importantly a passion for horses !! In order to learn your daily task, routine and horses personalities, we will ask you to stay a minimum of 3 weeks. Long stays are really welcome. Your role on the farm would be helping with the daily care of our racehorses. It's an everyday job starting depending of the sun (4.30am in summer and later on winter time). We start each morning training the horses, washing them and feeding them. All the retired horses need to be feed and watered as well. We need to feed and water all the horses again each night before dark. The ideal helpers will be positive, willing and with a some decent english. Hi there We have had many backpackers stay with us before and enjoy the new chats, music and vibes. I have stayed in hostels and backpackers here in Australia and overseas and always like to travel in WA to along the coast. Our house is walking distance from town and the beach is 200m away. It's an older house mix and match furniture, incense always burning and music playing with only 1 bathroom and 4 bedrooms with with big backyard. We have 1 cat named Sassy. The house is always tidy but by no means immaculate. There is wifi and a large bedroom that has heaps of cupboards and a desk with mirror and has a Queen bed, fan etc There is myself and my 17yr old son who live here. In return for accom and utilities etc we just ask for help with evening meals and general upkeep inside the house. Come and go as you please and enjoy your time here. I'm looking for enthusiastic volunteers to share some time with me on my peaceful 10-acre organic rainforest hobby farm in Far North Queensland. This is about companionship, sharing everyday life, and enjoying the experience of hobby farm life together. It's just me and my two Australian Terriers, and I'm looking for someone who enjoys good conversation, shared meals, and being part of the day-to-day experience rather than simply working a few hours and then disappearing. I was away from the property for around 18 months, so the farm has become quite overgrown and needs some love and attention to bring it back to the way it used to be. There will be plenty of projects to work on together, including gardening, mulching trees, clearing and tidying areas, organising the shed, and helping bring the property back to life. Some of the tropical fruit trees are now starting to reward the effort, with my jackfruit and rollinia trees producing their first fruit, which is exciting to be pa...

Because it’s a 30 hec property and there is always some...
