We live on a 5 acre hobby farm in the beautiful Huon Valley, Southern Tasmania. If you are over 25, we may be able to lend you a small Toyota Yaris which is registered for free Byron Bay parking. This will depend on the fuel situation in Byron. You may be able to use it for short trips into Byron and but you will need to work out how to share the car and petrol costs if we have several helpers staying. We are near the Shoalwater Marine Park and Penguin Island 40mins from Perth city centre. Very close to public transport, cafes and library. Ideal for beach walking, diving, swimming, cycling, fishing, sailing and windsurfing (beach is 60 metres away). Accommodation would take form of a fully insulated cute tiny garden room with access to undercover cooking area and bathroom. IT is small so please See photos. On week days we are usually working it Perth so we cant provide meals, but a well-stocked supermarket is 200 metres away. We have a property located within walking distance of Fremantle centre near the river , grocery stores and public transport as well as a local coffee strip. You would have the whole house self-contained with kitchen and bathroom. The helping exchange arrangement would be helping with repairs, landscaping, painting etc. Fremantle cottage is on quarry st if you want to check location. It would be useful if you have had some experience with painting and renovation as we are trying to bring a property in for a sale this year. it would suit someone who would like some peace and quiet because it lacks entertainment facilities such as stereos and TVs at the moment. Your role on the farm would be helping with the daily care of our racehorses. It's an everyday job starting depending of the sun (4.30am in summer and later on winter time). We start each morning training the horses, washing them and feeding them. All the retired horses need to be feed and watered as well. We produce our own food, including goat's yoghurt & cheese, wild or raised meats, eggs, fruit and veggies from our established gardens. We have no income from our property as we are always wanting to become more self-sufficient, so guests must be self motivated and hard working, and be able to contribute skills. We do not allow the use of chemicals (shampoo, sunscreen deodorants etc...) as our grey-water goes directly onto the food gardens, but we do supply our own home made organic soaps and creams.
