Big hello helpX helpers Come and hang out with us and have a yarn about some of the amazing places we lived when we were working in regional and remote areas of the north. These days Northern NSW is home. We live next to a nature reserve and have ample wildlife. Over 40 species of birds have been recorded by the Tweed bird observers group. We are off grid and generate our own electricity and collect our own water. Because of this we can could build on our property where we have spectacular views from the large veranda that extend all the way to the QLD border ranges. We offer our visitors accomodation in this beautiful space in return for help on our property. We have a veggie garden and make our own bread. I keep bees, both European honey bees and Australian stingless bees. We love our local cycle rides, kayaking, music, and sharing our beautiful region with visitors. We can offer great food and can teach bread making and bee keeping. The help we need depends on time of year and w...

Hey guys we don't have caller I D on our landline, so please leave your number when you leave a phone message. Currently we are looking for strong guys/ girls skilled in carpentry, plumbing, landscape gardening ,gardening and IT, and if not then just enthusiasm and a love for lifeand laughter. OH and someone who loves to share the cooking is always appreciated.. even though i love to cook healthy foods from all over the world, it's great to learn new styles, and also have a break from the kitchen from time to time. We are here to have fun and leave this earth a little more beautiful than when we found it and celebrate it with kindred spirits, with a lust for life. We live on a spectacular property on the slopes of Gulaga-( a Mt held sacred by both the indigenous and local population) with a view out to a spectacular coast, where we swim, and play, and run with our four legged mate. Steve and I offer a high quality experience (as you can see from our reviews) and so we expect our Helpers to pitch in and help. The more you put into your time here at Larnook the more you will get out of it. I think the absolute best time to help here with us is between July and October. The days are usually sunny, temperature in high teens or low 20s, and nice and cool at night, when you are snuggled up in yr bed. We have lots of small work jobs at present including lots of weeding and gardening, mowing, pruning and cutting back and some other work. Our property is situated at the foothills of the Billen Cliffs at beautiful Larnook, 30kms north west of Lismore and 20 mins away from Kyogle and Nimbin. We (Kev and Steve - we are a gay couple) have all kinds of work including weeding, mulching, watering plants, weed removal, creek revegetation, painting and planting. We usually expect around 4 hours per day of work in exchange for all meals, your own room, access to internet (fo...

Do you love nature? what about off grid living? How about great food and great company? How about learning some new skills? We need your help with our dream. We have built an earthship (with lots of help already) and want to share in this type of building design. We are located in a gorgeous mountain/ bush setting, totally off grid. We make electricity from solar, and our water comes from a mountain spring. The taskswe do are different everyday as we hope to teach many things to our fellow travellers. Some jobs include; cob making, bottle brick making, rendering, gardening, landscaping, working on a hugle wall (a living wall), horse care, harvesting and much more. No experience necessary, just your creative loving hands. Though, if you are skilled in carpentry, construction and earth dwellings then we could use your expertise. Such is the life on a property in the bush. You can sleep in a hut and camping space is also available. In December you may need your own tent as our community c...

You can sleep in your own room in the house or Tiny House on wheels depending? Lindy also lives on the property and helps care for the flora and fauna. She also likes meeting new people and sharing in life's wisdoms. Nice big deck to hang out on. With small friendly dog, Percy the Possum, Wesley the Water Dragon, Larry the Lizard and Bobi, Hopi and Popi the wallabies when they feel social. Hi Helpxers! My house is by the beach and far away from farm work. This is Surfers Paradise. So I guess it's not much of a cultural exchange in that respect but it could be convenient to you if you are looking to be in central Gold Coast. I’m Lynne, British, in Australia for 20 plus years and have a beautiful, big and very modern house in Isle of Capri, Surfers Paradise, everyone loves it here. The location is amazing for people who want to experience the Gold Coast. I live alone with my small cute white fluffy dog, Roxie. I also often rent out another room on the short term rental market so it's a fun and busy house as you get to meet quite a few people. Private swimming pool, fabulous fast wifi and movie theatre room with Netflix. There are shops and cafes within 1 minute walk. Walking: beach 8 mins, central Surfers Paradise 12 minutes. I am looking for 1 or 2 people to come and help around the inside and outside of my house. I prefer for you to let me know the skills you have so ...

Anyone interested in Nimbin? Please message or text me. 5km from Nimbin is our 200-acre farm. Approximately 100 acres is bush land and rain forest, while the remainder is pasture/plateaus for grazing cattle. A bus service runs past the front gate twice daily, some connecting to the Byron Bay shuttle bus. The property has an abundance of rain forest, native flora and fauna and all weather streams that have plenty of native life. The farm has beef cattle, 3 horses vegetable garden and the start of permaculture operations. Help may include animal care, garden, fencing, mowing, mulching, building work. A long stay opportunity is possible.Usually a mutual trial and if suitable helpers have often stayed for months. mechanical types are in high demand for my 4x4 collection. If possible we like to receive an email that outlines your interests/ skills and what you want to experience during your stay.

I live in a small village in the hinterland of Byron Bay. The household is one adult and two dogs. Walking distance to the local store and cafe the home feels rural and sits on the outskirts of the town. There is a bus stop near by. Byron Bay is approx 20 mts away and Bangalow 12 mts away. I love having guests and enjoy the interaction of helpx. Gardening, cooking and cleaning are the main jobs I would like help with and caring for the dogs. I look forward to meeting you. Linda:)

Our slice of paradise is home to a stunning array of native vegetation and a bustling community of native wildlife, making it the perfect retreat for nature lovers and eco-warriors alike. Are you looking for somewhere to have unique experiences? We have hosted lots of helpers over the years, and love the different people we have met. We enjoy the cultural exchange and look forward to meeting you. We are a family with two kids, on a small horse stud with some sheep, chickens, dogs, cats and horses on the banks of the Macquarie River, at Narromine, in central NSW. We have a comfortable 4 bedroom house and will provide all meals and accommodation in exchange for help with a variety of tasks, a bit of gardening, house work, cooking and general light farm duties. In winter we usually spend time checking and fixing the fences, collecting firewood, controlling weeds, as well as maintaining the vegetable garden and new orchard. Happy for people who love animals and outside work to contact us. Also looking for some farm and house work help too. We try to grow everything that we eat so we have an extensive veggie garden and orchard if you like working in nature! If you like so...

After my husband died in 2022 I am living with my daughter Bess (22) maintaining the vegetable garden and the house by myself. She lives in one of the buildings on the property. We live on an urban block in a suburb of Maryborough. There are 3 public parks around me and my property is close to the Mary River. There are lots of kangaroos to observe. We are only 30 min by car from the ocean. I love to cook and entertain. I offer for single or couple a bedroom with bathroom, The vegetable garden needs topping up soil and mulch, some trimming of hedges, some maintenance on the house like painting some areas outside (wooden Queenslander), maintaining the gutters and weeding. All jobs are able to be done in 4 hours or less.

Hi, my name is Mary. I live on the border of NSW and Victoria, a town called Albury. There is a train service to Albury from Sydney about 9 hours and Melbourne about 5 hours train trip. I am happy to pick someone from the Albury railway station. Albury is a pretty town on the Hume Highway., it is inland on the Murray River and there are a lot of local attractions, vineyards, historical small towns, snow fields and many more, only a few hours drive. I am located in town, with the railway station and the airport not too far, about 15minutes drive. I am fully vaccinated and require the same of a helper.I only take Non-smokers( meaning you do not smoke at all, outside as well.) I would like help with the garden and other general duties around the house.,such as cleaning. If you are travelling this way, either going to Melbourne or locally and can help out that would be great. My photos are of local scenery and attractions such as the Railway station, Hume weir and there are a lot of c...

We have a vacancy from Wednesday 14 Aug 2024 for one person with technical skills sufficient to work on your own part of the time. You will be especially welcome if you have good DIY skills (i.e. good with hand tools and "fixing stuff") and especially if you love working with wood. You need to be an early riser in the mornings. We normally start work by 8 a.m. but it is important to be flexible. Neighbours often offer my HelpXers paid work in the afternoons once a week, sometimes more. We live almost on the beach (tide line 135 metres from the door) in the small rural community of Wonga Beach, 90 minutes north of Cairns. We are establishing a small permaculture set up with chickens and tropical fruits and vegetables. We are keen on wildlife photography, fishing and snorkeling with occasional SCUBA diving, weather dependent. TransNorth run a bus from Cairns, north to Cooktown on Tuesdays, Thursdays & Saturdays, departing only at 06.30 hr from Cairns Central railway station. The ...

I live between a yacht on Sydney Harbour and a house in a tall eucalyptus forest on the mid north coast of NSW, and need some assistance in working on the house and on another yacht.  I'm a carpenter who worked with National Parks and Wildlife for 25 years before retiring, and live with a small dog Billy. I've had many helpers come stay over the last few years and have been lucky to have so many interesting travellers stay.  The yacht, is currently on the hard at Whoota where we are renovating her while helping with work on Joyelle. I often take helpers out sailing to see the magnificent Sydney Harbour Bridge and Opera House this is not possiable while Joyelle is being worked on. Yet, I hope to invite helpers out when she is back in the water. The house is located in Whoota, near Forster. It is surrounded by forest and located a 10 minute drive from pristine beaches, lakes, and bushwalks. There a lots of dolphins to see and beautiful areas to explore. The work we are doing on the ho...

Plant Based Diet only property. I am approx 30 mins drive South of Cairns. Do you like to prepare healthy plant based meals for groups of people? I need a health conscious person to run the kitchen and make delicious, nutritious meals, whilst the rest of us are out in the garden or shed. I am at a camp, not a regular house, my guests often sleep in my retired hilux camper with double bed. Some guests ask to stay in tents, Many have stayed in their campers, rooftop tents and swags too. My favourite guests get introduced to my kitchen, after seeing all the appliances and supplies, adjust the camp kitchen to their liking and take over. This is when I can get much more design work done and planning around the property. Too many times, I get over hungry with no food ready, so I often eat quick naughty fast foods. So yeah, if you are a plant based chef wannabe, I would like to hear from you. You would be great help in my efforts to create an Organic Off Grid, Self Sufficient Green Have...

We live on a 5th generation sheep and cattle property. My partner Ross is a farmer, while I’m a psychologist in a town nearby. We have 2 small children, Maddy is 3 and Berny is 19 months. We also visit my 3 step sons in Coffs Harbour every fortnight, where we have a small beach house and a spare room for guests too! Our place is reasonably isolated, with no public transport. We love the outdoors though so are more than happy to show you some swimming spots, short hikes and any other local activities that are kid friendly! We would love help around the house with meals and basic cleaning, gardening, speaking French with our children, maintenance or small farm jobs (we cannot offer enough work to sign off your 88 days). Our visitors often stay with us while they wait for their TFN, plan their trip and organise their next adventure with the comfort of our family home, meals and our beautiful farm. If you have experience with childcare that would be great as our children are very energe...

These days Northern NSW is home. We live next to a nature reserve and have ample wildlife. Over 40 species of birds have been recorded by the Tweed bird observers group.

Hospitality is a cornerstone of my culture, so ensuring that you have a comfortable and enjoyable stay is of utmost importance to me. You will have your own private bedroom and bathroom, with all meals provided. Special dietary needs can be catered to upon request. In exchange, I would greatly appreciate your help with 4 hours of work per day in the garden, primarily focused on weeding. After 5 days of work, you can enjoy two days off, or if you prefer, you can opt to work 3 hours each day instead. The nearest train station is Springwood, and I am happy to pick you up from there. Hello from the beautiful Dandenong Ranges of Melbourne! I am a self-employed ARTIST in a very colourful home. I have 2 dogs, 4 chickens and 3 goats. EXPECTATIONS Enthusiastic, trustworthy English-speaking helpers who enjoy a laugh, practical and can work INDEPENDENTLY. There are several varied DIY projects on the go. Most of the work is outside, you need to be physically fit and prepared for manual labour. I look forward to hearing from travellers who can help with limited instructions, unsupervised and have a passion for gardening, fence repair, building and house painting projects. Garden maintenance duties include but not limited to: use a whipper snipper to tidy garden edges; rake leaves; hand weed, collect fallen branches and sticks off the ground. Gather fire wood, cut and stack. Help burn garden waste. Plant new or potted plants, spread mulch on garden beds. Helping around the house and other odd jobs that come up. External house clean and pavers with pressure hose. On rainy...
