We live in a beautiful part of the world between the beach and Margaret River town. We live on a farm with multi- generational families, we work towards a lot of self sufficiency and we work off the farm also. Our interests include music and wellbeing. The Margaret River community is vibrant and has many activities on offer. Our family welcomes cross-cultural experience. We like our Helpxers to be happy; we offer clean, comfortable, private caravan accommodation. Tasks are dependent on helpxer skills, farm, family and home requirements (such as whipper snipping, gardening, wood splitting, domestic tasks, artistic skills and painting). Having a car is necessary as there is no public transport. We ask for 1 hour work a day (couple) and 1.5 hours work a day (single) which means that helpxers can get work off the farm, if you like. Kind regards :) Sabine, Tony and Family

I am an aquatic ecologist who has fortunately been working out of our coastal rain-forest property for 35 years. Driven by strong curiosity, I have recently been developing long-term data sets on the animal life in the forest that surrounds our home, plus on tropical marine fish that are steadily increasing in numbers under the influence of climate change at the nearby very beautiful Seal Rocks area (for details click on my website link below). We have 20 acres with 2 acres cleared and the remainder moist tall forest and rainforest. It is on the coast 3 hrs drive north of Sydney (1.5km from Smiths Lake; 30km south of Forster) See my blog link below to glimpse the accommodation, typical work and fun. We have a 180 squ m vegetable garden at times needing attention which has been enclosed to keep out our friends the wallabies (pademelons), possums, parrots and native bush turkeys. Bush regeneration is another activity as well as assisting in ecological surveys of local rivers when t...

We live in a large old house 20km inland of Byron Bay, in a quiet area of farmland and bush. We have a large garden and vegetable garden which is where we primarily need help. We have chickens, cats and 2 donkeys! We can offer a separate 'cottage' to stay in, and we provide all meals- some helpers have not wanted to go home! There is our new natural pool to cool off in too. In return we request 4 hours of genuine work per day. We are 8km from the nearest village so your own car is a big advantage, although we can pick you up if you don't have transport. Our family loves the cultural exchange aspect of HelpX and looks forward to meeting you and learning about your country. Right now we have work to do outdoors mainly weeding, some heavy lifting, pool cleaning, painting & gardening.

Hi, we are looking for one or two keen, healthy helpers to work with us on a range of tasks.🌻 We have a small berry orchard and vegetable gardens with roaming Guinea fowl, friendly kangaroos and our cute indoor house cats. The rest of the property is natural woodlands and we try to live as sustainably as possible. Work at moment is raking and clearing around our property, weeding the berry area and planting seedlings in our garden. Soon we will be picking berries as well. We have built our own unique home and there are still some parts to complete. Helpers with some skills are welcome but an actual interest in experiencing a more sustainable life during your stay with us is more important. We don't take bookings in advance but if you are ready to come help now or soon contact us. All your meals are provided and we eat together to plan our day. The food is tasty vegetarian and we are happy to cater for vegans. Your accommodation is in a private and comfortable converted shipping cont...

This very peaceful rural property is located within a special coastal Karri forest and is just 6 km from Hamelin Bay - where friendly stingrays swim along a beautiful white sand shallow beach. The weather is warming up now and the flies are starting to die out. We start work early here(7am) and that means helpers have from 9am to be free to play and/or relax !! I invite helpers who are travelling in a camper van or similar to come and help here. This place is very special location" because it is 'away' from the hustle and crowds of Margaret River(20 min away) and it's only 15 min drive to Augusta and the mouth of the Blackwood river. All the usual native animals roam freely over this land - Kangaroo, Emu, Possum, various reptile also so many birds are in abundance on this land. 2 helpers are moving on soon and I will need a couple of helpers to replace them. I am seeking at least 2 helpers(a couple) who are staying in their own camper van, or car with roof top tent or similar. I wil...

Welcome! I am Fern. I live together with my 3 year old daughter on our small, off grid and very humble farmlet in Guildford, Central Victoria. Guildford is home to one of Victoria's largest river red gums. It is over 500 years old. It's a very small town with only a general store, primary school & pub, half way between Castlemaine & Daylesford. We have been on this land for 1 and a half years & have started using permaculture principals & design. So far, we have completed the fence line, (to keep the rabbits out) & joyously have begun some planting both in the food forest, cottage garden & in the veggie patch. We always have seeds growing in our tiny greenhouse. Fern has a background in florist & plant nursery work and has completed a PDC. Currently a full time Mama, her interest lie in walking softly on this earth, while the little one loves watching the abundant birdlife in our vast open skies! I love kirtan and am busy immersing ourselves in the local community. There maybe a proj...

We are a fit and active couple in our 70s who have recently bought a home (2021) right by the water on Lamb Island in Moreton Bay, 30km from Brisbane. It has great views over the bay and has good access to fishing, crabbing, safe swimming and boating. There is a fast and regular ferry to the mainland that takes 20 minutes. There are also several other islands nearby that can be explored including North Stradbroke Island that has wonderful beaches and walks and lots of wildlife including koalas, kangaroos, turtles and dolphin and - from June to October - humpback whales. Over the next two years we will renovate and paint the home, install new kitchen and two bathrooms. Graham has some woodworking skill but needs help during that time with various tasks and we are willing to give you a comfortable bed, good food and company and access to bathroom and washing machine in exchange for 4 hours help per day, 5 days per week. Our preference is for a single person or couple who have some skil...

Beautiful 56 acre mountainous property, completely off grid with a small hardwood house /cottage that I have built using milled wood from trees on the property , with lovely views everywhere . Also doing a lot work to improve the land and infrastructure. The beautiful forest trails have old growth national park like forest at the very top. Lots of wildlife to see , with all kinds of exotic birds , including families of black cockatoo’s which live here in the pine’s, and beautiful little kingfisher birds, yellow robins, willy wagtails and kookaburras to name a few. Hi all, my name is Greg and I owned a hostel some time ago and now have decided to get helpers to help me out around the house as well as help me with painting. I'm a painter and decorator with lots of work to do and would like to get someone to give me a hand. You don't have to be qualified for this work and can be male or female as I can give you tasks that anyone should be able to do and will also spend some time with you showing how to do things which will include painting. It will depend on the individual to how much work they do each week, so it could be to work for accommodation only to getting paid if you are more interested in doing a full weeks work. Also I can supply food and accommodation in exchange for helping me, the areas that I will need help with will range from general help around the house to helping sort through my collection of items I buy at auctions. So you could be helping doing some painting, gardening (there’s not much garden) to general cleaning and help so...

At our off- grid solar, wood and gravity powered homestead you can live very close to Nature and learn by helping, how to grow your own food in the big, fully caged vegie garden/ orchard and some of how to build a bush cabin (it could be a winning strategy in years to come). We are long term, committed advocates, for climate change action and we've lived with Sustainability and Creating a low "Carbon Footprint" in mind, for 40 yrs now, settling here, (inland of Taree / Port Macquarie) from scratch in 1980, on 680 acres of rocky ridge forest on the wild and steep NW edge of the Bulga Plateau, 500m above sea level (a very beautiful but challenging location)! Watch our YouTube video below, about our community and us, made by the very talented helpxer, Louie Ablett. Three of us live here now, myself 74, David 84 and Sue 64, who started as a WWOOFer and has moved here with the help of a voluntary activity agreement through Centrelink for over 55s'. Sue came in September 2019 , lost th...

Where I live is Australia's best kept secret. I'm close to deserted beaches, the Snowy River, lakes and mountains. I live here with my dog, 2 horses and a miniature horse and the abundant wildlife that calls this place home. I am a long term vegetarian and preference will be given to vegetarians. I am well travelled. Very happy to accommodate gay people though I'm not gay myself. Accommodation is in a comfortable caravan. Every evening 50 or so kangaroos graze in my neighbour's paddock and that will be your view. It really is idyllic. This is a tranquil place. A Spiritual place. A place to come and rest and recharge your batteries. Lots of native birds and animals call my place home. I am looking for a handyman and or someone with lots of experience training horses as I have 2 horses and can only ride 1. I need help in the garden and the outside of my house needs painting. Also cleaning. Lots of variety. It would be very helpful if you had your own transport to explor...

We could host a helper or 2 for a couple of weeks before xmas to help out with some springtime propagation, potting up plants around our little nursery and a project or 2 around the farm and of course a bit of a spin around the islands and reefs in the boats... Volunteers can use their time here to sign off for 7 days a week towards their 88 days 2nd or 3rd year visa sign off and we have helped many backpackers secure a second/third year visa as we are registered primary producers in the correct postcode for "disaster relief". Please make sure you let us know you are looking to get your visa days signed off so we can provide appropriate work from the cyclone recovery list...also be sure to answer the questions at the end of this description in your initial email to us... Love to host a strong guy or 2, or a couple that have some gardening/farming experience or has carpentry skills that's keen to help out around the property and also spend some boating trips, catching barramundi, cr...

If you’re interested in helping on a beef cattle farm, cuddling foals and experiencing the Aussie farm life, you are most welcome here. We have a number of building jobs going at the moment so if you are handy with mechanics, metal, wood or a paint brush, that would be very helpful to us. Your daily tasks would be to feed the animals in the morning and evening, and caring for the mare and foal, gardening and general farm chores or in the household. There is always something to do. It would be great if you know how to drive a manual vehicle and you can learn to drive a tractor or a quad here. In exchange you can choose between a cozy room or caravan with everything inside that you need and I provide food for all your meals. You prepare your own breakfast and lunch and in the evening we have a home cooked dinner together. We also have unlimited WiFi and a car that you can use to visit the local area. We are located on the edge of a small country town of Blayney in NSW, 3 hours w...

ABSOLUTELY,No smoking or vaping on the property at all. No exceptions. I HAVE RECENTLY HAD PEOPLE WHO HAVE NOT FOLLOWED THIS GUIDELINE. I prefer to breathe clean air. NO SMELLY, PERFUMED SHAMPOO, CONDITIONER, BODYWASH SUNSCREENS OR DEODORANTS PLEASE, I CAN SUPPLY ALTERNATIVES. How about heading south to the most beautiful part of Australia? Or if you are already in Tasmania, that's a bonus. We are always welcoming and love to show off our stunning island home. Work would involve getting the garden ready for planting this Spring and other various farm jobs. Nothing too hard or difficult. I'd like some help clearing and establishing some walking tracks through the forest on the property. I prefer people with experience in gardening and farm work. Looking for someone from now, through the next few weeks. When you first contact me [or any other host] it is very helpful to tell us what date you would like to arrive and leave. It helps us to co- ordinate things so as many people as ...

Hello Everyone, We've been hosting through helpx for over 10 years. We enjoy learning about cultures and people from all over the world. We have the pleasure of living on 350+ acres of natural bush country in Brooweena, Queensland. We also grow a lot of our own food and have fruit trees. We are 100% off-grid with all our electricity from solar and tanks, dam, and rain for water. We have a friendly dog who loves to play. Our goal is to be as self-sufficient as possible, improve the soil, and regenerate the land to a healthy ecosystem. We use Permaculture Design methods. This means we don't use any chemical sprays, artificial fertilizer or mono-cropping on our land and live the values of Earth Care, People Care and Fair Share. It's a very exciting time for us to be embarking on our farming adventure, and we would like to share this t...

There are over 4 kilometers of walking trails through gorgeous forest, on this completely vegan property, with mountainous views all over ranging from 150 to 230 meters above sea level. We have recently found koalas living on the property in the flooded gum trees, with many wallabies and goanna’s are everywhere in summer !

We have converted a bus to a tiny home, and we are currently building a shipping container home, this is a priority and would love people to help.
