Looking for helpers from mid April 2026 and beyond. Located in Melbourne's Southern eastern suburbs, only 1 hour by train to Melbourne CBD. We have a hobby farm with 2 cows, goats, alpacas, dogs, and cats. We are best suited to accommodate a couple or 2 friends travelling together and wanting to stay for 2 weeks or more. Helper accommodation is very neat self contained studio style cottage, with your own King Bed, Lounge, kitchen, bathroom and meals area. We would welcome anyone with any handyman skills etc. General duties include caring for the animals, gardening, mowing, weeding, fence repairs, painting, wood splitting and other odd jobs. We can provide accommodation in exchange for 20 hours per week. We are 5km from the local shops and public transport, so it is more convenient if you have your own vehicle.

Hi, I run an alpaca stud specialising in suri alpacas. I also run Wiltipoll sheep as a source of meat. I am attempting to be fully self sufficient and the accommodation is all off grid (but very high tech). There is also satellite TV for the evenings. However, you still need to be aware of not leaving electrical appliances and lights running unnecessarily as well as 5 minute showers. I have only been living here since August 2014 and am still building the garden to the standard I want as well as fencing off various areas. I have internet access via satellite which is quite reliable and your phone will default to going through the satellite. Otherwise, mobile phone coverage is variable - if you are with Optus there is very little signal. You are best off with Telstra as there seems to be better coverage by them. you can access your phone via the wifi which is satellite and more reliable. If you are looking for a party scene this is not the place. My place is very quiet and tranquil a...

We live on a small acreage about 20 minutes outside of Bundaberg. It is in a quiet, country area with lots of animals - dogs, cats, geese, guinea fowl and ducks. Wild kangaroos regularly feed in the paddock near our house. If you love animals, we are the place for you! Helpers would have their own bedroom, bathroom, toilet and lounge room. We are happy to provide all meals if you require, but ask that helpers help with either the meal preparation or the clean up afterwards. We have access to wireless internet and are able to pick up helpers from Bundaberg if they do not have their own transport. Due to the lack of public transport where we live, it is probably more suitable if you have your own transport if you wish to visit local attractions. We would like some assistance with feeding/caring for the animals, housework, cooking and gardening. We enjoy meeting new people and learning about their cultures. We have hosted a lot of helpers in the past and thought it was time to start aga...

PLEASE READ MY WHOLE HOST PROFILE BEFORE YOU APPLY TO VISIT MY PLACE AND ASK ABOUT ANYTHING YOUR NOT CLEAR ON Need help.with a garden clean up.at the moment. You don't need to have an overwhelming desire to save the world, live off the land, or be more useful than a Swiss army knife, to stay here. A nice honest person is good enough. This is a relaxing place, close to nature, away from the backpacker trail on the coast but still got a bit happening, somewhere to recharge your batteries, do a bit of work, have a laugh and meet some real Aussies, maybe get out of your comfort zone a bit😜 My place is a cattle farm with one skinny, old farmer, one dog, some cattle, lots of birds and wildlife, relaxing place, near Kyogle, a quiet country town, which is 1.5 hours drive west from Byron Bay. Two hours south of Brisbane by train. Very close to the beautiful Border Ranges National Park (bike ride away). I like to show people around. We are a family of five living a self reliant lifestyle, on a small isolated block. We produce our own food, including goat's yoghurt & cheese, wild or raised meats, eggs, fruit and veggies from our established gardens. We have no income from our property as we are always wanting to become more self-sufficient, so guests must be self motivated and hard working, and be able to contribute skills. We do not allow the use of chemicals (shampoo, sunscreen deodorants etc...) as our grey-water goes directly onto the food gardens, but we do supply our own home made organic soaps and creams. Our aim is to create a co-operative living space, so opportunities arise for short and long term or permanent stay. We have three children who we homeschool using natural learning methods. Travellers with children are very welcome. Please visit our website via link below. We are randomly online and prefer telephone contact to make arrangements.

My two sisters, Judy, Margaret and I bought the farm in November 2021 and are turning it into an organic permaculture farm. We use no chemicals or poisons and that's why there's a lot of hand weeding etc. We are very flexible and easy going. The farm is set in the picturesque Tamborine Mountain with amazing rain-forest walking trails and stunning waterfalls. We have a beautiful private campervan accommodation close to the house where you will be able to access Wi-Fi and the use of a shared bathroom, plus a small caravan. Or occasionally a bedroom with queen size bed in the house. We need help with weeding and planting and depending on the time of year, harvesting/picking avocados. I also need help with my bee hives on occasion. We don't expect you to work all day, all we ask is a fair exchange, usually 18 - 20 hours per week. Vegan meals will be provided (Judy is an amazing cook). You will have to buy your own non-vegan food. There is a full kitchen set up in the campervan and ...

I’m looking for crew to join me on a trip from Mooloolaba to Lizard Is and return March to November 2026. She is a well-equipped comfortable and sea worthy vessel. This is a no strings attached share food/drinks and onshore eating/drinking costs position. I am looking for Crew to accompany me on this adventure. The person/s I am seeking would be a normal, uncomplicated female between 20 and 60 yrs old with an appreciation of the sailing/cruising lifestyle. No drugs or smoking, but social drinking is welcome. I can accommodate 1 or 2 crew. You will have your own private double Cabin with ensuite. The trip will take a few months up and then return October/November Contribution to fuel may be required, and depends on the number of crew, equally divided. We are a retired couple, enjoying a peaceful life on our 2.5 acres, surrounded by farm land overlooking the Strzelecky Ranges. We have two dogs, Shadow who's 14 and Daisy 4, and 9 chickens and 3 chicks. Serena has planted lots of trees and shrubs, a nice vegetable garden, but it's all getting out of hand! We'd like someone to assist us with carting mulch, cutting back trees and shrubs, splitting and stacking firewood (don't worry, we have a hydraulic log splitter), general garden maintenance jobs and perhaps some external painting (the house is due for a paint job, we have started already but there's plenty left!). We ask for 2 hours/day (for a couple) or 3 hours/day (single person) in return for lodging in your own studio apartment in the main house, with Queen bedroom, private sitting room, amenity area and private bathroom (if it happens to be booked out for an AirBnB we can accommodate you in our vintage Jayco Camper). Eric's a good cook so you won't go hungry! Essential you have ...

We are currently looking for one (1) 'older' HelpX person to help now with some garden work, mainly re-establishing a veggi patch which would involve weeding, deep digging, planting and mulching and tree pruning, as well as some house cleaning. If you have experience in garden work and cleaning inside houses, we would love to hear from you! If you already have HelpX references (we prefer that!!), even better! We will usually only commit for one (1) week to start with. We are a vegetarian, non-smoking household of three friendly, mature people (1 male, 2 female) and one elderly, diabetic, cat. We live in a large old house in Highgate Hill, with wood stove and huge verandah, on a double block, 10 minutes walk to Southbank and 20 minutes walk to the CBD. Hello travellers! My name is Liam and I’m looking for some help landscaping ahead of building a sauna on my property. Guests will have their own room, with queen bed, wifi, and located only 15 minutes to Hobart CBD. About me: I’m in my early 30ies and work full time in town. I love getting out there all over tassie, including mountain biking, fossicking, rock climbing, saunas (obviously) and hiking. Closer to home, I enjoy baking, board games and woodworking. I travelled a lot in my early twenties and did a lot of couch surfing, and hosted back here in Aus. I love the community feel and cultural exchange that happens thanks to couch surfing and am really excited to host more people via HelpX. You and your stay: I’m happy to host a couple or individuals and could potentially host two couples. We’ll be sharing the space including bathroom and kitchen facilities. I want everyone to feel at home and you’re very welcome to join me on social and weekend adventures, including rock climb...

Welcome to Geelong and the Surf Coast! We would love to welcome helpers to our Honeysuckle House - a five bedroom home in a quiet court. We have a guest room with queen bed and a private toilet/shower available for 1-2 people. We bought this big old house about a year ago, and we are struggling to keep up with gardening, cleaning and maintenance. We would love some help! Some examples of jobs that we need help with include: - reviving the veggie garden - tending to the garden (cottage plants and flowers) - cooking and baking (if you're into that) - oiling the deck - general house cleaning and fixing bits and pieces. - open to other creative projects around the house and garden We are asking for about 20 hours per week in exchange for food, accommodation and wifi. Work can be flexible! We want our helpers to feel like they can spend their day how they like, and choose when they feel like working. If you want to work all day for a few days and take the rest of the week off - that's t...

Hi There We are a family-owned registered dog breeding and rearing business on our 14-acre hobby farm in the northern part of Victoria. It's flat country with picturesque canola fields in yellow bloom, gumtrees, dirt roads and a huge clear blue sky. Our home is conveniently situated between three towns less than 15km away, one of which is a big town(Echuca) for all major shopping and other recreation. We are a homeschooling family with Christian values consisting of myself (Jacques), my wife (Simone) and our two children (Rachel and Jonathan). On our farm we also have an orchard and chickens. But we spend most of our time with our Border Collie dogs and puppies, which is what we need help with. Our home is only 2 hours away from Melbourne, so you can easily take a weekend off and drive to Melbourne for a visit. We are looking for an enthusiastic person/persons who love animals, especially dogs, to come and stay with us and give us a hand on the farm. We need people who are hardworking ...

We appreciate help with DIY repairs and maintenance, timber work, upgrading a dinghy to fit a roof and remote steering, repairs to trailer and for help with early morning gardening, housekeeing, cooking and dog walking on the beach. We are looking for reasonably good DIY handymen and women, capable of working effectively, when necessary, on your own or as a pair and, ideally, someone who also has some gardening experience, but that is not really necessary, learn on the job! 😉👍. So you need to be a "morning person" who is happy to start work at 07.00 hr, at least five mornings a week, not a night-owl. This is to avoid the heat of the afternoons at this time of year, mornings ca n be beautiful. Much of the work will be outside, based out of a well-equipped, air-conditioned, woodworking workshop and/or in our vegetable garden and hen and duck coops, just over 100 meters from a very quiet, sandy beach.🧜‍♂️ Opportunities on your day off include fishing, sailing, snorkeling, weat...

We have Not long moved here so hoping to find someone who can help set up a nice art space and possibly an area outside for ducks. For over 20 years, we have hosted backpackers happy for a chance to take a break from travelling for a few months. We require 2 days’ work per week on Tuesdays and Fridays. Most of the work is either gardening: including raking, digging, mulching, weeding and removing dead or fallen branches; or housekeeping: spring cleaning the main Homestead, or washing windows, cleaning gutters or decobwebbing around our guest cottage. Also there are general tasks like collecting firewood or filling pot-holes in the driveway. The work is not exciting, but the environment is beautiful! In exchange, our helpers live rent-free in their very own, private bluestone cottage (pictured); with a full-sized kitchen, double bedroom with ensuite bathroom, and separate living/dining room with wood fire, TV and free Wi-Fi; and a lovely big verandah. Electricity, gas and water are all included free, as well as linen, towels, crockery, cutlery and cookware. As we only ask for 2 days’ work per week, our helpe...

Kel monitors the messages but only answers about once a week - the more notice we have to host the better for planning throughout the seasons~ MARCH-MAY *we currently only have one single room and bed available for guests* EARLY MAY we are looking for a house-sitter who will be available to take care of small livestock and monitor hives temporarily My partner and I are converting a small yard into a permaculture garden. We have space for 2-3 people and would love to share skills both directions and get help for our ongoing projects. We are only looking to host guests for about a fortnight at a time. Jim and I live with another couple and keep ducks, mealworm, compost worms and a beehive. We live in a quiet suburban neighbourhood in a small town about 20 minutes drive from Mackay. We live in the suburbs, but it is a very quiet suburb in a regional town. We aren’t TOO far from either the city centre, or the countryside, or the beach. I have a house with a 0.25ha garden that is part of a larger community . We are about 10 mins drive, or an easy hitch, from Byron Bay (and all its tourist attractions); Brunswick or Mullumbimby and 2 mins from the beach. I`m always glad of help with my 1/4 ha - projects like building the vegie garden; trimming back the ever enroaching bush, or projects around the house. The arrangement is 2 hours in exchange for accommodation (14 hours a week), looking after your own food but sharing our kitchen. Gondwana, the larger community that Lotus Ponds is part of, is about 50 people with a community house and hall with weekly community dinner and meditations, yoga, table tennis & pool tables with levels of activity that depend on who is here. The people living here change more often than I update this ! But typically are inspired by some combination of Dance (5Rhythms, Open-Floor, Contact); Permaculture; Surfing; Osho; Personal Growth; Cooking; Music and Nature; in the rest of Gondwana ...

Learn about gardening, woodworking and find yourself on a journey to your soul in Macclesfield, South Australia Thank you for your interest in volunteering. We appreciate help, enjoy young people having an excuse to visit the beautiful and interesting places Adelaide, the hills and the Fleurieu Peninsula in South Australia have to offer with them. We are regularly being booked 3 to 4 months in advance with mostly long-term guests. This should not deter you to ask anyway as booked helpers sometimes cancel their spot. Please read through all the text below and only apply if you think this is for you. We live on a 2-hectare property with the young Angas River running through. We have organic gardens with fruit trees, all sorts of berries, vegetable gardens with free roaming bantams, big layer hens, flower beds, lawns as well as a goat on paddocks and a cute house cat. 1 of our 4 kids, Katharina, is living next door with her partner. We live in the Dandenong Ranges, a lush, green mountain wonderland just outside Melbourne. Think towering trees, birdsong, misty mornings, walking tracks, and small villages where everyone knows the good coffee spots. Our home sits in a popular tourist area, but it’s peaceful and leafy, with that rare balance of feeling tucked away while still being well connected. We’re within walking distance of a train station with a direct line to Melbourne, so city adventures are an easy day trip. We’re offering a fully furnished private room in our home in exchange for help in our backyard - the fun, hands-on kind. The work is mostly creating garden paths, shaping outdoor spaces, light landscaping, and general outdoor tidying. Nothing heavy, nothing commercial. We also love when helpers bring ideas and creative input. Work expectations: We ask for 15 hours per week, usually across 5 days (around 3 hours per day). You’re welcome to structure your time in a way that suits you. For example, doing ...

Currently have helpers until March 2026* Minimum stay 4 weeks preferred. We are a small, family-run horse farm at the lower end of the Hunter Valley, NSW. We have a mix of retired racehorses and eventing horses, plus a handful of hairy ponies, and need help in feeding, grooming, and riding horses (for the right, experienced people only) and general property maintenance. This can include anything from painting jumps, picking up horse poo, building fences, clearing fallen trees, to clearing weeds and overgrown areas of bush! We might also ask for help with our active, imaginative, 12 year old daughter; but generally we don't consider child care a job for helpers! Lyndel is a qualified riding instructor, specialising in Eventing, and teaches and trains people and their horses on our cross country course, show jumps, or grass and (floodlit) sand arenas. We have welcomed a number of travellers from all over the world, and offer excellent accomodation and full board in return for help w...

There is a mountain on my farm with lots of tracks to w...

Love to host a strong guy or 2, or a couple that have some gardening/farming experience or has carpentry to replace some trim and architraves or welding skills (projects include welding some pipe/RHS to make a few spinning shooting targets and maybe construct a beer keg smoker...and of course a bit of a spin for some snorkelling and fishing around the islands and reefs in the boats... Volunteers can use their time here to sign off for 7 days a week towards their 88 days 2nd or 3rd year visa sign off and we have helped many backpackers secure a second/third year visa as we are registered primary producers in the correct postcode for "disaster relief". Please make sure you let us know you are looking to get your visa days signed off so we can provide appropriate work from the cyclone recovery list...also be sure to answer the questions at the end of this description in your initial email to us... We like to go on boating trips, catching barramundi, crocodile spotting, fishing and expl...
