Having a car is necessary as there is no public transport. We ask for 1 hour work a day (couple) and 1.5 hours work a day (single) which means that helpxers can get work off the farm, if you like. We are a fit and active couple in our 70s who have recently bought a home (2021) right by the water on Lamb Island in Moreton Bay, 30km from Brisbane. It has great views over the bay and has good access to fishing, crabbing, safe swimming and boating. There is a fast and regular ferry to the mainland that takes 20 minutes. There are also several other islands nearby that can be explored including North Stradbroke Island that has wonderful beaches and walks and lots of wildlife including koalas, kangaroos, turtles and dolphin and - from June to October - humpback whales. HI, I am Paul, I live on my 14M monohull steel sloop (one mast) called "Kakadu". Aboriginal name for medicine plant. I have been cruising up and down the Qld coast for 10yrs. I would greatly appreciate some help on the boat to do cleaning and maintenance. Jobs like sanding wood and steel, painting wood and steel and cleaning other surfaces. Some of the paints aren't very nice but I will provide proper breathing equipment and gloves. The fun part is your living on the water in awesome spots. I have snorkelling and fishing gear and a dingy to explore with. It's easy in the Whitsundays to sail to a different spot every few days . Stay, explore do some jobs.
