Where are we? Our land sharing Co-operative is located halfway between Port Macquarie and Crescent Head, approximately 5 hours drive north of Sydney. Started in 2000, we are working to create a community that encourages self sufficiency in an affordable rural setting. Our aims include promoting organic produce and permaculture, alternative technology, arts and music, and respect for the environmental values of this unusual and very special place. Who are we? As one of the founding members of the community, 80 year old Larry is the respected & much loved community social director and elder. Larry enjoys jamming (playing music) with the community band and making unique home brews. He also hosts the Friday night drinks at Bonobo Bar on the island. What will you need? If you have a can-do attitude, can clean up after yourself and like to leave things better than you found them, then we would love to host you!! What will you do for work? We try to vary the work so that it is ne...

I am into music (composing/playing); Alternative health / medicine ; Electronics / Engineering / technology ; Anything weird wacky unusual unexplained strange secret, and business combining most of the above, ;) .. The world is full of amazing things and possibilities and Life can never be dull for the seeker with an open mind. I am very passionate about hidden truths and wisdom and always keen to learn and share (if called for) I do not drink or smoke and i like vegetarian food but i m pretty flexible.. Hi beautiful people! I’m Christine, a happy spirited former language and arts teacher working across two continents. Since I retired I work in the natural health field. I live on an urban block called The Roo‘s Pouch, where I maintain a sustainable vegetable garden and created a community of nice people living with me. I live in one of the three buildings on this sunny property which runs on rainwater harvesting. We avoid chlorine and contaminates by filtering, harmonizing and ionizing our water. So water conservation is part of life for me. The corner block is in a suburb of Maryborough. There are 3 beautiful public parks surrounding with lots of kangaroos hopping peacefully around, near to the Mary River. The historic city of Maryborough has a lot to offer and is the home town of Mary Poppins. We are only 30 min by car from the ocean in Hervey Bay with wale watching when in season. Hervey Bay is at the doorsteps of Fraser Island/K’Gari. I offer for single or couple a bedroom wit...

PLEASE READ MY WHOLE HOST PROFILE BEFORE YOU APPLY TO VISIT MY PLACE AND ASK ABOUT ANYTHING YOUR NOT CLEAR ON Need help.with a garden clean up.at the moment. Hi, we’re Terry (64) & Tricia (56)! We live on a beautiful 5 acre lifestyle property in Yandaran, about 35 km north of Bundaberg. Yandaran is a small rural village surrounded by farmland, offering a relaxed country atmosphere. We love showing people around our wonderful area - you can enjoy fishing, catching mud crabs, exploring freshwater river crossings, and visiting a beautiful beach only minutes away. We’re looking for some help putting the finishing touches on our property- small fencing jobs for animal yards, establishing lawn and garden areas and a few homestead projects. We offer accommodation in our 21 foot caravan, complete with own toilet and bathroom. We haven’t hosted for a few years, but we have previous experience as hosts and made many friends around the world because of it - and we look forward to meeting many more!

Hello! Thank you for reading our profile. Guy, myself, and our dog Ava would love to welcome you to our home and community here in Far North Queensland — a place like no other. We live at the northern edge of the Daintree Rainforest, beside the pristine waters of Wallaby Creek, which is safe for swimming, and surrounded by beautiful bush walks. There is so much to enjoy here. Just a few kilometres north is the famous Lions Den Hotel, which offers live music during the tourist season and is a true local icon. Heading south through the Daintree to Port Douglas, you’ll find some of the most breathtaking coastal scenery in Australia. On your days off, we’d be delighted to take you exploring through the hills and show you some of the amazing places only locals know about. Living in the tropics means we experience severe weather events fairly often, especially during the wet season, with heavy rain, flooding, and cyclones. Fortunately, our home is on a hill and has remained safe. We are p...

We live in a large old house 20km inland of Byron Bay, in a quiet area of farmland and bush. We have a large garden and vegetable garden which is where we primarily need help. We have chickens, cats and 2 donkeys! We can offer a separate 'cottage' to stay in, and we provide all meals- some helpers have not wanted to go home! There is our new natural pool to cool off in too. In return we request 4 hours of genuine work per day. We are 8km from the nearest village so your own car is a big advantage, although we can pick you up if you don't have transport. Our family loves the cultural exchange aspect of HelpX and looks forward to meeting you and learning about your country. Right now we have work to do outdoors mainly weeding, some heavy lifting, pool cleaning, painting & gardening.

I am an aquatic ecologist who has fortunately been working out of our coastal rain-forest property for 35 years. Driven by strong curiosity, I have recently been developing long-term data sets on the animal life in the forest that surrounds our home, plus on tropical marine fish that are steadily increasing in numbers under the influence of climate change at the nearby very beautiful Seal Rocks area (for details click on my website link below). We have 20 acres with 2 acres cleared and the remainder moist tall forest and rainforest. It is on the coast 3 hrs drive north of Sydney (1.5km from Smiths Lake; 30km south of Forster) See my blog link below to glimpse the accommodation, typical work and fun. We have a 180 squ m vegetable garden at times needing attention which has been enclosed to keep out our friends the wallabies (pademelons), possums, parrots and native bush turkeys. Bush regeneration is another activity as well as assisting in ecological surveys of local rivers when t...

I am looking for two or three helpers for 7-10 days in April. Warm greetings from rural Byron Shire. I have hosted helpers regularly to help me to clear and tidy my sloping one hectare garden, which continues growing vigorously, and with other necessary maintenance tasks around my home. I would welcome a couple or two or three friends to work with me for a week or more in April. No particular experience is necessary, but any practical skills might be useful, and reasonable fitness is needed. I’m happy to share my own skills with willing helpers and will be working with you. Three to four hours of work per day in return for plentiful food and drink, and your own comfortable accommodation in my guest bedroom(s). I live in the Byron Bay hinterland, with my dog Rosie, in quiet country with ocean views and sightings of numerous wildlife. I come from England but have settled in Australia for the past 18 years, after travelling extensively around the world for both work and pleasure over...

We are in the hills 1 hour from Perth CBD in a small rural farming community. Our place includes the small town's original Post office (1914) which has a reputation of being the smallest post office in Australia, this is now used as your cosy air-conditioned guest room with a sofa bed. Complete the rustic aussie experience with an outside toilet. Alternatively I may have a room in my house available. NO local transport. You MUST have your own car. Meals and showering (and another toilet) is in our main house. We have a winter creek at the back set in bushland, musical instruments (piano, guitar, ukuleles). Room for vehicles. Singles, couples welcome. We seek helpers for general yard maintenance, gardening to establish veggie beds, weeding, sweeping, cleaning, painting and household chores. You will need to keep your areas clean and tidy. Two hours work is required each day for accomodation, four hours if including meals. We sometimes like to work more on one day and then have a co...

Hi, my name is Mary. I live on the border of NSW and Victoria, a town called Albury. There is a train service to Albury from Sydney about 9 hours and Melbourne about 5 hours train trip. I would like help with the garden and other general duties around the house, such as cleaning. If you are travelling this way, either going to Melbourne or locally and can hel...

Meals and showering (and another toilet) is in our main house. We have a winter creek at the back set in bushland, musical instruments (piano, guitar, ukuleles). Room for vehicles.
