We are 10 minutes from Byron and we can see the famous Byron lighthouse from our front balcony. We love hosting Help X guests. We also need help in managing a 6000 sq meter block with a garden that needs a lot of work and a big house that needs cleaning. Our house has views and a pool and spa as well as a media room, all of which, we share with you. If you are over 25, we may be able to lend you a small Toyota Yaris which is registered for free Byron Bay parking in most places. You can use it for short trips into Byron and but you will need to work out how to share the car and petrol costs if we have several helpers staying. Unfortunately, our insurance does not cover younger drivers and without a car, you may find us too isolated as there is no public transport. We ask for 20 hours of work a week not counting cleaning up after meals and when you are leaving, cleaning the studio or your room. You can either work whenever you choose and record your hours each day...

We are Todd and Wiebke, living just outside Toowoomba in Queensland (about 1.5 hours from Brisbane) on our rural property surrounded by beautiful countryside. Todd is Australian and works in equine bodywork. Wiebke grew up in Germany and works in accountancy. We have both travelled extensively through Europe, South East Asia, Canada and Australia and we truly value cultural exchange and the opportunity to experience everyday local life rather than just passing through as tourists. Our property is currently transitioning from avocado farming into a dedicated equine facility focused on horse wellbeing and performance support. Horses are at the heart of what we do and we are passionate about creating a calm, thoughtful and educational environment around them. What You Can Experience Here: Staying with us offers a genuine rural Australian experience. You can: -Be part of daily life on a small equine property -Learn about horse care, bodywork principles and rehabilitation environments...

We are a fit and active couple in our 70s who have recently bought a home (2021) right by the water on Lamb Island in Moreton Bay, 30km from Brisbane. It has great views over the bay and has good access to fishing, crabbing, safe swimming and boating. There is a fast and regular ferry to the mainland that takes 20 minutes. There are also several other islands nearby that can be explored including North Stradbroke Island that has wonderful beaches and walks and lots of wildlife including koalas, kangaroos, turtles and dolphin and - from June to October - humpback whales. Over the next two years we will renovate and paint the home, install new kitchen and two bathrooms. Graham has some woodworking skill but needs help during that time with various tasks and we are willing to give you a comfortable bed, good food and company and access to bathroom and washing machine in exchange for 4 hours help per day, 5 days per week. Our preference is for a single person or couple who have some skil...

If you love wildlife, the outdoors, great views and good food, send us an email (only emails from this site will be responded to). This is very much a cultural exchange (for us and for you) as you will be in our family home sharing our lifestyle. NO SMOKERS OR VEGETARIANS PLEASE. We prefer our helpers to stay 2 weeks or more. Work outside is a major part of what we do so expect to be outside on a rural property as part of the experience. Please message us through this platform to allow us to view your profile The property is located 60km South of Brisbane and 20km West of the Gold Coast on the upper North slope of Mt Tamborine, 320m above sea level. Beyond the work-exchange arrangement, additional payment can be discussed. If your English is not strong, that’s absolutely fine—you can practise spoken English with our high-achieving brother and sister at home and pick up plenty of authentic Aussie local expressions. We provide a large bedroom with a view and three meals a day. As the mum of the family, I take care of grocery shopping and driving. For newly arrived helpers, I can also drive you to set up the three essentials (bank account, phone plan, and TFN). In general, I handle matters outside the home, while you focus on household tasks...

It looks like we are full until at least mid July but you are still welcomed to make inquiries about future dates. We appreciate help with DIY construction, repairs and maintenance, timber work, boat work, metal work repairs to trailers and for help with gardening, housekeeing, cooking, duck and chicken rearing and dog walking on the beach. Fishing, snorkelling, and rainforest walks can help occupy your spare time. We are looking for reasonably good DIY handymen and women, capable of working effectively, when necessary, on your own or as a pair and, ideally, someone who also has some gardening experience, but that is not really necessary, learn on the job! 😉👍. So you need to be a "morning person" who is happy to start work at 07.00 hr, at least five mornings a week, not a night-owl. This is to avoid the heat of the afternoons at this time of year, mornings ca n be beautiful. Much of the work will be outside, based out of a well-equipped, air-conditioned, woodworking worksho...

We are Dave and Lynda an older couple than we would like to admit and this is where our challengers lie. We live on a half-acre bush property, Dave built the house 35 years ago and it now requires a little maintenance. Some of the maintenance will involve helping Dave moving and working off scaffold and carpentry work. The yard needs some attention and involves some heavy wheelbarrow work to form a path beside our dam along with transplanting and planting. So here's the deal,,,,, we are offering accommodation in exchange for assistance with the maintenance of the house and yard. You will get to stay in a great little 1 bedroom self-contained unit situated 10 minutes drive from the Hervey Bay town centre. We are asking 2 half days a week help in exchange for accommodation, I'm saying half days because we run out of energy about mid-day. This leaves you with plenty of time to explore the area and visit Fraser Island and our beautiful beaches, snorkel the soft coral reef or scuba...

We live in the Northern suburbs of Darwin in a lovely tropical house with a pool. We live upstairs and have a self-contained room downstairs with separate kitchenette and bathroom for our helpers to use. We are a long term Darwin family with 2 boys aged 9 and 6 and a 4 year old dog named Trixie who is very friendly and gentle. We are looking for a single or couple (preferred) to help us with household chores (laundry, cleaning, gardening), walking the dog, and other odd jobs. We are pretty flexible depending on your interests and skills. We offer accommodation only in exchange for up to 2 hours per person per day of help. We love meeting new people and socialising with friends. We both love playing sport and keeping fit. I have lived in Darwin most of my life and love sharing this beautiful part of the world with new people. We are easy walking or riding distance from Jingili water gardens, Nightcliff foreshore, and casuarina shopping centre, and close to local transport. We have...

After 16 years, and hosting almost 100 HelpXers, at our property in Larnook, in the Northern Rivers region, Steve and I have moved to a new place in Tenterfield, at the northern end of the New England Tableland. All of our reviews up until September 2024, are related to our previous place. We are now ready to accept HelpXers at our new place. Steve and I are a gay couple and we offer a high quality experience (as you can see from our reviews) and so we expect our Helpers to pitch in and help. The more you put into your time here at Tenterfield, the more you will get out of it. We have lots of small work jobs at present including lots of weeding and gardening, mowing, establishing herb and vege gardens, pruning and cutting back and some other work. Our property is situated a few kilometers west of the town of Tenterfield, in a quiet, rural area. We usually expect around 4 hours per day of work in exchange for all meals, your own room, access to internet (for checking emails, looki...

We live in a large old house 20km inland of Byron Bay, in a quiet area of farmland and bush. We have a large garden and vegetable garden which is where we primarily need help. We have chickens, cats and 2 donkeys! We can offer a separate 'cottage' to stay in, and we provide all meals- some helpers have not wanted to go home! There is our new natural pool to cool off in too. In return we request 4 hours of genuine work per day. We are 8km from the nearest village so your own car is a big advantage, although we can pick you up if you don't have transport. Our family loves the cultural exchange aspect of HelpX and looks forward to meeting you and learning about your country. Right now we have work to do outdoors mainly weeding, some heavy lifting, pool cleaning, painting & gardening.

Hello travellers, and a warm welcome to beautiful Olinda - I am Vita and delighted to host you. **Currently seeking Helper/s who can work in the garden or use a chainsaw to cut fire wood. Or a carpenter who can help repair weather damaged external timber windows. Or someone with mechanical experience to service chainsaw and lawn mowers. Or a Helper with sewing skills and can use a sewing machine. Or a helper who can restore and refinish furniture. I appreciate self-starters and Helpers with initiative, who do not always need to be told what to do and are capable of putting in a full days work. Weeding and garden work is always a go-to if you are waiting instructions. Helpers will sometimes be left to work by themselves as I don’t always have time to supervise them. Therefore, Helpers who can help with l...

We live in a fun share house in Maryborough, Marry Poppins Town, with awesome meals and a big edible garden. We're Mars, the owner of the property and Tracy, a former theatre/restaurant owner who's cooking the most awesome meals and looking after everyone like a mum. There're 2 adorable dogs in the family, so you must be a dog lover. Also 6 chicken and 2 ducks, so we always have fresh eggs. We need help with building and creating, and with an awesome but overgrown edible garden. We're about to put 12v solar power into the rooms, also natural air-conditioning and are finishing up the spa bath in the 2nd bathroom... so there's a bit for you to learn and lots of knowledge to take home. We like to work with fun and laughter and love to see you letting a bit of your craziness out. Be yourself and join the family... We have had awesome experiences with travellers so far 😃. Please note that there's a minimum of 1 week stay, we do not like to be used as a pit stop. There's no maximum s...

You are welcome to come and enjoy our Farm stay in South West Victoria. We have availability for a single traveler in July and October. This is not a paid position. We are currently putting in new wildlife protection fences and planting trees to encourage koala, bush mammals and kangaroos back to our farm and could use your help. We have four horses, three dogs and a cat in need of loving care each day as well as pet sheep. Language exchange is encouraged and we love to try new food if you love to cook. I'm a traveling veterinarian and happy to have a driver so there's lots of opportunity to travel and visit the south-west of Victoria including the surf-coast near Geelong, or the goldfields at Ballarat, see whales at Warrnambool and visit the Grampians mountain range. Our most recent helpers have used our place as a base and done lots of traveling from here around Victoria and South Australia.

You are welcome to come and enjoy our Farm stay in South West Victoria. We have availability for a single traveler in July and October. This is not a paid position.
