Hi there, We are a friendly couple living 12km west from the town of Esperance, near the (not pink!) Pink Lake, on the Great Ocean Drive. You need to have your own vehicle and drivers licence to stay with us. We would love some help with general maintenance tasks on our 5 hectare property. We both have full-time jobs running our business, Lucky Bay Brewing (located on the east side of Esperance near Bandy Creek boat harbour). Our home is surrounded by natural bush with lots of bird life, with a fruit orchard, olive grove, a dog, .... and did have a large organic vegetable garden, chickens & ducks. However, our vegetable garden and chicken house are currently not functional, due to our busy work-life - so these are the main tasks we really want some help with. We love meeting people from other places around the world and sharing experiences. You are welcome to stay in our basic self contained rammed earth building which has a kitchen/lounge with fire place and bathroom and upstairs...

Hi beautiful people! I’m Christine, a happy spirited former language and arts teacher working across two continents. Since I retired I work in the natural health field. I live on an urban block called The Roo‘s Pouch, where I maintain a sustainable vegetable garden and created a community of nice people living with me. I live in one of the buildings on this sunny property which runs on rainwater harvesting. We avoid chlorine and contaminates by filtering, harmonizing, and energizing our own water though Ionisation. Water conservation is part of life for me. You can come to Maryborough via plane, bus or train. The Hervey Bay Airport is only 30min from my home. There are meanwhile several bus companies to choose from. If you use the train please book Maryborough town from the drop down menu. The shuttle bus from the train station in Maryborough west (20 min out of town) is free of charge if it is pre-booked. As international travelers you qualify for a concession card on Queensland tr...

If you’re interested in helping on a beef cattle farm, cuddling foals and experiencing the Aussie farm life, you are most welcome here. We have a number of building jobs going at the moment so if you are handy with mechanics, metal, wood or a paint brush, that would be very helpful to us. Your daily tasks would be to feed the animals in the morning and evening, and caring for the mare and foal, gardening and general farm chores or in the household. There is always something to do. It would be great if you know how to drive a manual vehicle and you can learn to drive a tractor or a quad here. In exchange you can choose between a cozy room or caravan with everything inside that you need and I provide food for all your meals. You prepare your own breakfast and lunch and in the evening we have a home cooked dinner together. We also have unlimited WiFi and a car that you can use to visit the local area. We are located on the edge of a small country town of Blayney in NSW, 3 hours w...

Our property is situated in the hinterland above the Gold Coast. Our view is outstanding. We overlook the Hinze Dam which is the Gold Coast water supply and in the back drop are mountains and a section of the Gold Coast city and the ocean behind. We have 1 border collie dog Mollie plus 12 wonderful laying chickens. The majority of our property is untouched. We are in a rain forest belt and approx 450 meters above sea level. So we are cool in the winter and fabulous weather in the summer as we get wonderful sea breezes up here to keep the temperature very pleasant. Our soil is red volcanic so whatever we plant just grows. My husband Greg and I are looking to clear our forest area by getting rid of fallen branches and lots of leaf litter from the base around the beautiful trees that we have. Summer is getting close and we are really preparing for any possible reason for uncontrollable fires that could potentially create a problem for us. So if you are feeling fit and would like ...

We are a family of four living in the Noosa Hinterland on the Sunshine Coast, with a beautiful border collie, and a small flock of pet chickens. We can offer accomodation in a spacious freshly renovated caravan with outdoor cooking and bathroom facilities. The accomodation is privately situated 100m away from our house, in a peaceful area by the dam. In exchange we'd love 20 hours of help per week on our Permaculture based property, negotiable days of work. Help would include maintaining food forests and veggie beds, invasive weed management (Singapore Daisy), tree pruning, making compost, looking after chickens, mowing, whipper snipping, and assisting with small building projects. Ideally we'd like at least a 2 week stay. One home cooked meal, and one DIY breakfast food provided per day. We're happy to share any fruit, veggies and eggs with you, as available. Own transport is preferred as we are located 3km out from Pomona town. Suit single person, couple, or 2 friends (1 x double an...

If you'd like to experience natural, simple living and see what it is like to start a life relying more on yourself than the consumer driven culture, and hear about the realities of "community living", then we may just be a match. We are a young family with four kids under 10, trying hard to transition into self sufficiency. We live off grid, on a bush block. It is a 15 minutes drive to town. A bus can be caught 2.4km away. Coonabarabran is Australia's astronomy capital. The observatory here allows space and planet enthusiasts to explore their interests. We produce our own goat's milk, eggs and have been enjoying tones of salad greens. Now its time for spring planting. My kids are homeschooled, don't eat or watch junk, not allowed tech devices, run and play with each other, help garden and clean up, my 5 year old chops wood, mills flour, my 8 year sews and weaves - and they love the lifestyle. If we watch a film, we discuss the subliminal messages. I spent summers in Russia on dac...

Note to HelpX and travellers! We've been sabotaged by another Host nearby. Some of you might have received slandering messages about us which hold absolutely not truth. We've received multiple copies of these dreatful messages which the Police identified as untrue and so opened a deformation case against this Host. It's really low of character of a Host and quite childish for a Host to not only sabotage, asking Helpers to not join us, or joining her instead. It's even lower to write a warning on her Host profile about us. Truth is that we have done work for this Host, looked after her helpers for quite some time as the many 5 star reviews on her profile can show. We've fed her helpers while overseeing her renovation. We have never been paid. We took our losses and went on with our happy lives. We suggest that the badmouthing Host stops her spite, deletes the negative comments about us on her profile stops sending out defacing untrue comments to other Helpers and goes on with live. ...

Spring is upon us & it is wonderful to see the plants “spring” into growth! BUT so are the weeds. 🫩 so we need help to weed & mulch, prune and plant. After our trip to Alice Springs to attend the Australian Native Plants biennial national conference we are enthused to improve our garden diversity. Please contact us if you want to experience our garden and hospitality like so many HelpX helpers have over the last few years. ENJOY THE FREEDOM & BEAUTY OF SOUTH GIPPSLAND. Property is a botanic garden of Australian native plants, many rare or endangered, plus an acre of plants for cut flowers, mainly proteas, banksias and tea trees. Lots of wildlife. We need help with weeding, mowing, mulching, planting and general clean up as the property is too big for the two of us to maintain. Accommodation is very comfortable, private, with fully set up kitchen in a studio style cottage with a queen size bed and smart TV. Recently installed a new electric oven with airfry function. I am an aquatic ecologist who has fortunately been working out of our coastal rain-forest property for 35 years. Driven by strong curiosity, I have recently been developing long-term data sets on the animal life in the forest that surrounds our home, plus on tropical marine fish that are steadily increasing in numbers under the influence of climate change at the nearby very beautiful Seal Rocks area (for details click on my website link below). We have 20 acres with 2 acres cleared and the remainder moist tall forest and rainforest. It is on the coast 3 hrs drive north of Sydney (1.5km from Smiths Lake; 30km south of Forster) See my blog link below to glimpse the accommodation, typical work and fun. We have a 180 squ m vegetable garden at times needing attention which has been enclosed to keep out our friends the wallabies (pademelons), possums, parrots and native bush turkeys. Bush regeneration is another activity as well as assisting in ecological surveys of local rivers when t...

Learn about gardening, woodworking and find yourself on a journey to your soul in Macclesfield, South Australia Thank you for your interest in volunteering. We appreciate help, enjoy young people having an excuse to visit the beautiful and interesting places Adelaide, the hills and the Fleurieu Peninsula in South Australia have to offer with them. We are regularly being booked 3 to 4 months in advance with mostly long-term guests. This should not deter you to ask anyway as booked helpers sometimes cancel their spot. Please read through all the text below and only apply if you think this is for you. We live on a 2-hectare property with the young Angas River running through. We have organic gardens with fruit trees, all sorts of berries, vegetable gardens with free roaming bantams, big layer hens, flower beds, lawns as well as a goat on paddocks and a cute house cat. 1 of our 4 kids, Katharina, is living next door with her partner. Our home and garden are on the beautiful mountain top of Mt Toolebewong. Our home is owner-built rammed earth construction and is surrounded by organic herb and native gardens, berries and fruit trees. We have a table soccer (Fussball) table, table tennis, and a tennis court is nearby. We have an attractive dam for swimming. Our place is about 20 minutes drive from Healesville, and we can pick you up from the bus stop when you arrive. We are close to a major native animal sanctuary and good wineries and the thriving and beautiful Yarra Valley, which we can share with you on longer stays. Work would be five hours per day, five days per week, however we are flexible around that. Volunteering includes gardening, weeding, pruning, compost making, planting, wood collection, splitting and stacking. Building and handyperson work depends on skills and experience. Initial stays are from 3 to 7 days, with longer stays negotiable. Accommodation is in a two bedroomed, self-contained flat. We share...

Welcome to My Little Piece of Paradise at Black Mountain - Sunshine Coast Hinterland. I am retired and live on a beautiful 28-acre small acreage property in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland, surrounded by paddocks, native birds and wildlife. The property is situated near the top of a mountain, offering exceptional views, peace and tranquillity, while still being conveniently located just 20 minutes from Noosa and its beautiful beaches. I have two daughters who live nearby and two granddaughters whom I absolutely love to spoil! I also have Ziya, my 12-week-old Rhodesian Ridgeback puppy, who is currently learning her manners and basic training. She loves exploring the property, going for walks, playing and, of course, eating! Ziya is contained within the property but enjoys interacting with people, so helpers must be comfortable around what will grow into a large, energetic and active dog. Who I am looking for : I am looking for either: One helper for approximately 7–10 days,...

Hi, my name is Mary. I live on the border of NSW and Victoria, a town called Albury. There is a train service to Albury from Sydney about 9 hours and Melbourne about 5 hours train trip. I am happy to pick someone from the Albury railway station. Albury is a pretty town on the Hume Highway. It is inland on the Murray River and there are a lot of local attractions, vineyards, historical small towns, snow fields and many more, only a few hours drive. I am located in town, with the railway station and the airport not too far, about 15minutes drive. I am fully vaccinated and require the same of a helper. I only take Non-smokers (meaning you do not smoke at all, outside as well). Currently I am asking for 2.5hrs a day for board only. You can cook for yourselves, buy supplies locally and after cooking clean your area. I would like help with the garden and other general duties around the house, such as cleaning. If you are travelling this way, either going to Melbourne or locally and can hel...

Are you looking for somewhere to have unique experiences? We have hosted lots of helpers over the years, and love the different people we have met. We enjoy the cultural exchange and look forward to meeting you. We are a family with two kids, on a small farm with some sheep, chickens, dogs, cats and horses on the banks of the Macquarie River, at Narromine, in central NSW. We have a comfortable 4 bedroom house and will provide all meals and accommodation in exchange for help with a variety of tasks, a bit of gardening, house work, cooking and general light farm duties. In winter we usually spend time checking and fixing the fences, collecting firewood, controlling weeds, as well as maintaining the vegetable garden and new orchard. Happy for people who love animals and outside work to contact us. Also looking for some farm and house work help too. We try to grow everything that we eat so we have an extensive veggie garden and orchard if you like working in nature! If you like soccer (...

My husband and I moved to this 240 acre farm in the South Burnett Region of South East Qld 2 years ago and have recently moved into a purpose built cottage (to reduce our footprint) relying on rainwater for the house and bore water for the gardens and to reduce our footprint further we have installed a composting toilet. 40 fruit trees have been planted and raised garden beds made which is the start of our edible oasis. Next on the jobs list is creating wicking beds from IBC totes and fencing the house yard for our two Jack Russell dogs. We have an old thunder box we would like to restore to make into an outdoor composting toilet (let us know if you’re handy on the tools). There’s plenty to do and learn around the farm depending on your ability and interests. Enthusiasm is a must. There’s gardening and learning about soil health, learning how to erect barbed wire and electric fencing, animal husbandry, building, cleaning and general maintenance. There’s always something different g...

We are a fit and active couple in our 70s who have recently bought a home (2021) right by the water on Lamb Island in Moreton Bay, 30km from Brisbane. It has great views over the bay and has good access to fishing, crabbing, safe swimming and boating. There is a fast and regular ferry to the mainland that takes 20 minutes. There are also several other islands nearby that can be explored including North Stradbroke Island that has wonderful beaches and walks and lots of wildlife including koalas, kangaroos, turtles and dolphin and - from June to October - humpback whales. Over the next two years we will renovate and paint the home, install new kitchen and two bathrooms. Graham has some woodworking skill but needs help during that time with various tasks and we are willing to give you a comfortable bed, good food and company and access to bathroom and washing machine in exchange for 4 hours help per day, 5 days per week. Our preference is for a single person or couple who have some skil...

Room and simple breakfast of toast, tea or coffee, I can show you where to find free bread and there is generally some rice or pasta you can use, occasionally some fruit and vegetables, or other food included but not guaranteed. I have a minimum stay of 2 weeks and a maximum stay of 3 months. Ipswich is a lovely place in itself and is about an hours drive to Brisbane, about an hour to the Gold Coast, about an hour and a half to the Sunshine Coast or about an hour to the mountains in Toowoomba. Many visitors to Australia assume it will be hot here and in summer it is, in winter the temperature can be very cold. Make sure to pack some warm winter clothing if travelling in the winter months. I don't have fans or air conditioning so the temperature is what it is. It's hot in summer and cold in winter. Electricity has become too expensive for me to run heating or cooling appliances. I am not on a farm, it is a residential block in Ipswich. My house is small and cluttered and surrounded...

PLEASE READ MY WHOLE HOST PROFILE BEFORE YOU APPLY TO VISIT MY PLACE AND ASK ABOUT ANYTHING YOUR NOT CLEAR ON. Need help with a garden clean up, at the moment. You don't need to have an overwhelming desire to save the world, live off the land, or be more useful than a Swiss army knife, to stay here. A nice honest person is good enough. This is a relaxing place, close to nature, away from the backpacker trail on the coast but still got a bit happening, somewhere to recharge your batteries, do a bit of work, have a laugh and meet some real Aussies, maybe get out of your comfort zone a bit😜 My place is a cattle farm with one rough headed(inside and out 🤣,) skinny, old farmer, one dog, some cattle, lots of birds and wildlife, relaxing place, near Kyogle, a quiet country town. It is 1.5 hours drive west from Byron Bay, 2 hours south of Brisbane by train. Very close to the beautiful Border Ranges National Park (bike ride away). I like to show people around. We.previously lived in Boreen Point on the Sunshine Coast where we hosted many helpers through helpx with amazing reviews over a period of 17years.. Most never wanted to leave. We have now moved and bought an equally stunning property in Far North Queensland in a small country town (Cardwell) on 3 acres 10 minutes from beach. We are located between Cairns and Townsville and just south of Mission Beach. Terry and I are not as young as we used to be and are struggling with maintaining the property. We need help for 4hours a day, with weeding, mulching, pruning and watering the gardens and general house cleaning. We back onto tropical rainforest and creek. Help around the inside of property would also be helpful. You will have your own bedroom and own bathroom (1 queen for couples and 2 queens for singles). The fridge will be stocked for you to prepare your own breakfast and lunch and we all sit together for evening meals which I will prepare. There are many stunning waterfalls and walk...

There is a mountain on my ...
