We live in a fun share house 🏡 in Maryborough, Marry Poppins Town, with awesome meals 🍝, fireplace 🔥 and a big edible garden 🌾🌴🌳🌿. We're Mars, the owner of the property and former owner of multiple language schools and Tracy, a former theatre/restaurant owner who's cooking the most amazing meals and looking after everyone like a mum. There're 2 adorable dogs 🐕🦺🐕 in the family, so you must be a dog 🦮 lover. Also 6 chicken 🐓 and 2 ducks 🦆, so we always have fresh eggs 🪺. We need help with building and creating, and with an awesome edible garden. We're about to put 12v solar power into the rooms, also natural air-conditioning and are finishing up the spa bath in the 2nd bathroom... so there's a bit for you to learn and lots of knowledge to take home. We like to work with fun 🥳, laughter 😂, music 🎶 and love to see you letting a bit of your craziness out 🤪. Be yourself and join the family... We have had many awesome experiences with travellers so far 😃. Please no...

If you'd like to experience natural, simple living and see what it is like to start a life relying more on yourself than the consumer driven culture, and hear about the realities of "community living", then we may just be a match. We are a young family with four kids under 10, trying hard to transition into self sufficiency. We live off grid, on a bush block. It is a 15 minutes drive to town. A bus can be caught 2.4km away. Coonabarabran is Australia's astronomy capital. The observatory here allows space and planet enthusiasts to explore their interests. We produce our own goat's milk, eggs and have been enjoying tones of salad greens. Now its time for spring planting. My kids are homeschooled, don't eat or watch junk, not allowed tech devices, run and play with each other, help garden and clean up, my 5 year old chops wood, mills flour, my 8 year sews and weaves - and they love the lifestyle. If we watch a film, we discuss the subliminal messages. I spent summers in Russia on dac...

Our home is on a 30-ha rural property where we have been for 25 years initially with our 3 children (now adults) now only shared with our lovely cat Alfie. We have a large garden (veggies & flowers) and a small orchard surrounded by paddocks and bushland. You can make long walks on our property and along the Mount Barker Creek enjoying a typical South Australian semi-arid landscape and abundance of wildlife. Or just sit on the porch observing mobs of kangaroos and a great variety of birds set against beautiful views into the valley incl. spectacular sun rises. A separate ‘granny’ flat is available as accommodation which includes 2 rooms and little lounge. We regularly go back and forward to Mount Barker and if you are without own transportation you can this way enjoy cafes, shops and cinema plus connection by direct bus to Adelaide. Room and simple breakfast of toast, tea or coffee, I can show you where to find free bread and there is generally some rice or pasta you can use, occasionally some fruit and vegetables, or other food included but not guaranteed. I have a minimum stay of 2 weeks and a maximum stay of 3 months. Ipswich is a lovely place in itself and is about an hours drive to Brisbane, about an hour to the Gold Coast, about an hour and a half to the Sunshine Coast or about an hour to the mountains in Toowoomba. Many visitors to Australia assume it will be hot here and in summer it is, in winter the temperature can be very cold. Make sure to pack some warm winter clothing if travelling in the winter months. I don't have fans or air conditioning so the temperature is what it is. It's hot in summer and cold in winter. Electricity has become too expensive for me to run heating or cooling appliances. I am not on a farm, it is a residential block in Ipswich. My house is small and cluttered and surrounded...

We are a fit and active couple in our 70s who have recently bought a home (2021) right by the water on Lamb Island in Moreton Bay, 30km from Brisbane. It has great views over the bay and has good access to fishing, crabbing, safe swimming and boating. There is a fast and regular ferry to the mainland that takes 20 minutes. There are also several other islands nearby that can be explored including North Stradbroke Island that has wonderful beaches and walks and lots of wildlife including koalas, kangaroos, turtles and dolphin and - from June to October - humpback whales. Over the next two years we will renovate and paint the home, install new kitchen and two bathrooms. Graham has some woodworking skill but needs help during that time with various tasks and we are willing to give you a comfortable bed, good food and company and access to bathroom and washing machine in exchange for 4 hours help per day, 5 days per week. Our preference is for a single person or couple who have some skil...

We have a small hobby farm just outside of Gunnedah, NSW. growing mostly summer veggies. Now that spring is here, we will be planting our summer crops that will need watering and weeding. Our major winter crop is onions that still need watering and harvest in November. Once December comes, we get busy picking cucumbers. There is tractor driving or mowing with a zero-turn, some painting jobs around the house, sauce and relish making from our own produce and other chores associated with a farm. We are also looking to renovate a caravan for future backpackers to stay in, so carpentry skills welcome. We have a room with a king size bed in the house or a room with bunk beds. You would be sharing meals with us in return for 4 hours work most days. We prefer a stay of 2 weeks or more. We have Jack Russell dogs that will follow you around the farm and down to the river. We live on a major river (Namoi) so have wildlife and birds to see. We are looking for helpers but also include you in our...

We are a mature aged couple working from home and are looking to find an enthusiastic couple, or single person, who can help with general garden maintenance , eg weeding, spraying blackberries and wood splitting etc. In return, we are offering a private room and own bathroom ( see in photos below) in our lovely home. Accomodation and all meals are provided. ( free wi-fi is also available). We are in a quiet and secluded bush setting, and often have kangaroos and wallabies feeding on our property, but still only 3km from the main highway and station. (Melb CBD is 1 hour via train.) It is essential that you are a dog lover! (We have 2) Our 2 Whippets are quite old now, but very friendly and lazy! This would be an excellent opportunity for anyone requiring 2 weeks of accommodation, possibly longer, to share our easy going family life style. We are DEFINITELY a NON SMOKING household, and would prefer not to cater for vegetarians only. The work involves weeding, moving mulch, splitting...

DO YOU LOVE ❤️ OYSTERS? 🦪🦪🦪🦪🦪🥂 If the answer is YES come and work with us ! If not that's fine as we have lots of nice food to offer. Work for 3-4 hours then we will have an amazing dinner. Often oysters. You can stay with us at our holiday house with water views. Or you can just come for the day and catch the last ferry home after dinner. The option might exist to stay longer but that’s by special request as you’d be alone & would need a car. This would suit singles, (if there's other staying) couples or a group of friends wanting a short but fun adventure. Sometimes we have small numbers just 2 people, other times large numbers but this is usually only when we are there to arrange all the food etc. BRUNY ISLAND has BEACHES, FORESTS, BIRDS, NATURE, and so much more. We are located at Adventure Bay on the South of the island which is roughly a 90 minute journey from Hobart. The first ferry to Bruny island is around 6.50am, then every 30 minutes after no bookings requir...

Hey everyone it's Coco. I have a farm property down here near Moruya at Congo, NSW. I have recently moved house and now live at my beach house, but still run the farm 2 km away. There is plenty to do as I am still getting organised at the beach house, so come and help. The house is across the road from the beach - swimming and surfing every day. We.previously lived in Boreen Point on the Sunshine Coast where we hosted many helpers through helpx with amazing reviews over a period of 17years.. Most never wanted to leave. We have now moved and bought an equally stunning property in Far North Queensland in a small country town (Cardwell) on 3 acres 10 minutes from beach. We are located between Cairns and Townsville and just south of Mission Beach. Terry and I are not as young as we used to be and are struggling with maintaining the property. We need help for 4hours a day, with weeding, mulching, pruning and watering the gardens and general house cleaning. We back onto tropical rainforest and creek. Help around the inside of property would also be helpful. You will have your own bedroom and own bathroom (1 queen for couples and 2 queens for singles). The fridge will be stocked for you to prepare your own breakfast and lunch and we all sit together for evening meals which I will prepare. There are many stunning waterfalls and walk...

We have a small hobby farm just outside of Gunnedah, NSW. growing mostly summer veggies. Now that spring is here, we will be planting our summer crops that will need watering and weeding. Available for up to 2 people at a time.
