“Work is love made visible” …Kahlil Gibran If you understand the above quotation then you are the HELPER I want. Please, read EVERYTHING below before requesting hosting. I have only recently returned from a volunteer project in Fiji. Now I am renovating a very old miner's cottage on a half-acre in a cute rural village in central NSW. The Cottage is about 150 years old, built originally with timber that was milled on-site by hand. The original Cypress Pine slabs stand vertical. The cottage is being creatively renovated to display its history and highlight modern, country, lifestyle. The grounds are destined to be turned into organic food gardens and a native species garden. Room for you in-house or caravan. YOU could learn a lot about the Aussie lifestyle, sustainable living, alternative building ...AND have a lot of fun, if you choose to HelpX with Donny. ABOUT DONNY: Donny is a real Aussie Character: He is a retired, alternative builder. He is also an event manager, writer, m...

We are a cattle and sheep farm. the work involved would be gardening, cooking, cleaning, some plumbing and carpentry, electrical work, fencing, stock work and odd jobs and some farm work. We often have orphan calves and lambs to care for. We dont expect you to be able to do all the jobs but if you can help with any of them that would be great. The property is located 5km from coastal crayfishing town of Dongara (350km north of Perth) with one of the best beaches in Australia. There is also fishing, snorkeling, surfing, walking tracks and other sightseeing attractions close by. Very comfortable quarters provided and access to heated swimming pool. We also have dogs, cats, birds, pigs and chooks. Because of the new rule we can no longer sign for 2nd year visa. Only helpers that can speak and understand English may apply.

My husband and I moved to this 240 acre farm in the South Burnett Region of South East Qld 2 years ago and have recently moved into a purpose built cottage (to reduce our footprint) relying on rainwater for the house and bore water for the gardens and to reduce our footprint further we have installed a composting toilet. 40 fruit trees have been planted and raised garden beds made which is the start of our edible oasis. Next on the jobs list is creating wicking beds from IBC totes and fencing the house yard for our two Jack Russell dogs. We have an old thunder box we would like to restore to make into an outdoor composting toilet (let us know if you’re handy on the tools). There’s plenty to do and learn around the farm depending on your ability and interests. Enthusiasm is a must. There’s gardening and learning about soil health, learning how to erect barbed wire and electric fencing, animal husbandry, building, cleaning and general maintenance. There’s always something different g...

We are looking for like minded individuals who are passionate about restoration/building and maintenance, love nature and have a good nature and willing to share a laugh over some good food. We have hosted people from all around the world, including all over Europe, Asia, North and South America. The motel is a 5-minute drive from local amenities such as supermarkets, shops, pubs, and a skate park. From June to September there are plenty of winter activities including skiing, tobogganing, and snowboarding at nearby ski resorts, just 30 minutes away. In summer, there are plenty of hikes, mountain biking, fishing, as well as the beach at Jindabyne Lake, Blue Lake and we are 30 minutes from the tallest mountain in Australia- Mount Koscioscko. Hi you young and beautiful travelers, Bundaberg is a less known touristic town, with a mild climate, beautiful beaches and wonderful surroundings. It is also an agricultural country town with many backpackers hostels . With a bit of lack there might be opportunities for paid work on a farm. It’s only 350km north of Brisbane and easily reachable by train. My home is only a few minutes drive from the town center, yet secluded and peaceful, sitting on 2.5 acres. I am looking for people who would like to visit this promising coastal town and help with general house and backyard maintenance, around 4 -5 hours a day, 6 days a week. The person helping me will have a home away from home and a cosy room to rest in. I am hoping he/she will treat the place with respect and consideration, observing the few requirements related to the use of bathroom and kitchen. Otherwise, regretfully, we will have to part ways sooner then expected. A good home cooked meal and an occasional glass of wine is...

I am an aquatic ecologist who has fortunately been working out of our coastal rain-forest property for 35 years. Driven by strong curiosity, I have recently been developing long-term data sets on the animal life in the forest that surrounds our home, plus on tropical marine fish that are steadily increasing in numbers under the influence of climate change at the nearby very beautiful Seal Rocks area (for details click on my website link below). We have 20 acres with 2 acres cleared and the remainder moist tall forest and rainforest. It is on the coast 3 hrs drive north of Sydney (1.5km from Smiths Lake; 30km south of Forster) See my blog link below to glimpse the accommodation, typical work and fun. We have a 180 squ m vegetable garden at times needing attention which has been enclosed to keep out our friends the wallabies (pademelons), possums, parrots and native bush turkeys. Bush regeneration is another activity as well as assisting in ecological surveys of local rivers when t...

Beautiful 56 acre mountainous property, completely off grid with a small hardwood house /cottage that I have built using milled wood from trees on the property , with lovely views everywhere . Also doing a lot work to improve the land and infrastructure. There are over 4 kilometers of walking trails through gorgeous forest, on this completely vegan property, with mountainous views all over ranging from 150 to 230 meters above sea level. The beautiful forest trails have old growth national park like forest at the very top. Lots of wildlife to see , with all kinds of exotic birds , including families of black cockatoo’s which live here in the pine’s, and beautiful little kingfisher birds, yellow robins, willy wagtails and kookaburras to name a few. We have recently found koalas living on the property in the flooded gum trees, with many wallabies and goanna’s are everywhere in summer ! Lots of lovely contemplative spots to relax , . We're Mars, the owner of the property and Tracy, a former theatre/restaurant owner who's cooking the most awesome meals and looking after everyone like a mum. We're about to get ducks in addition, we're about to put 12v solar power into the rooms, also natural air-conditioning and are finishing up the spa bath in the 2nd bathroom... so there's a bit for you to learn and lots of knowledge to take home. We like to work with fun and laughter and love to see you letting a bit of your craziness out. Be yourself and join the family... We have had awesome experiences with travellers so far 😃. We are a family of five living in Fremantle. We have three kids aged 7, 4 and 2 so the house can be quite chaotic as you would imagine with three small children in a fairly small house. If you are comfortable with small kids and never being able to finish a conversation, then this may work for you! I am from Australia and my partner is Indonesian, and we have travelled a lot and recently settled here last year. We lived in Bali for 10 years, and we have done a lot of travelling around the world and have friends in many different countries. We love learning about new cultures, new languages and new cuisine! We also love hanging out together, cooking good food, going to the beach and we are involved with the local homeschooling community. Our house is non smoking, and we are fairly clean living. We are into being outside, being healthy and trying to have a minimal impact on the Earth. So if you are into healthy living and have a chill lifestyle, we may be a good fit. We have a small...

Hi, it's Stephen and Philamae. We have a beautiful rural property in Buckland, Tasmania (45mins NE from Hobart airport). The views are stunning - the accommodation is lovely after its 4 year renovation build has just completed, and we are running it as holiday accommodation! The next adventure will be to turn this into a funky mini-retreat space. The experience of the place - and Tasmania as a whole - is soul stirring. Lots of beautiful animals surround us - sheep, wallabies, possums, echidnas, bunnies and the occasional deer and eagle.. See our Airbnb listing with over 60 photos via our website link: https://www.airbnb.com.au/rooms/1404048948970319721 Generally we look for HelpXers to help with the gardening, maintenance jobs and housekeeping. Across Nov/Dec/Jan it will be a lot of room cleaning/making up for our Airbnb setup, so in those months we need somebody who cleans to a high standard and ideally likes cleaning & housekeeping! The next specific needs are: a) May 2026 onward...

Just 10 minutes from Lismore and 5 mins from the Northern Rivers Rail Trail, our elevated, 9 hectare property at Rock Valley, is also within easy reach of the Border Ranges National Park and the coast. The farm is our long-term project to improve local biodiversity, and supports a growing population of amazing native wildlife. We share an interest in landcare, creative arts and community with a network of nearby friends, experienced in bush regeneration and propagation. We are very grateful for any help but most of all love the opportunity to share others' skills and experience, and having time to get acquainted. The workload is variable depending on the weather and season, but generally fun, and usually followed by morning tea. Accommodation is a fully restored, air-conditioned cottage, located 50 metres from the main house.

AVAILABILITY we are currently taking a break... Hello! We’re Josie and Mel. We would love to share our quiet but playful home with you. We live in a welcoming and progressive neighbourhood in Hobart, Tasmania. It is our oasis from the crazy world. We are a queer couple: one a professional gardener (training to be a therapist) and one a teacher. We have many interests, are widely travelled and love meeting people. We are lucky to have the best of two worlds. Our house sits in the foothills of Mount Wellington with beautiful views surrounded by trees and bird song. We are also very close to bus services into the city, which is an 8-minute drive away. There’s a hammock on our deck and we have bush walking at our doorstep. We are regularly visited by wallabies, pademelons, cockatoos, ravens, honey eaters, and if lucky, a platypus in the creek. You are welcome to peruse our many books if you are interested in spirituality, environment, poetry and psychology. Our piano and guitars would w...

We live in a fun share house in Maryborough, Marry Poppins Town, with awesome meals and a big edible garden. We're Mars, the owner of the property and Tracy, a former theatre/restaurant owner who's cooking the most awesome meals and looking after everyone like a mum. There're 2 adorable dogs in the family, so you must be a dog lover. Also 6 chicken, so we always have fresh eggs. We need help with building and creating, and with an awesome but overgrown edible garden.
