Immediate Start!!! Needing help before Easter 🐣 We are a family of 4 who live on a beef cattle property half way between Mackay and Rockhampton in Queensland....only 3.5hrs to Airlie Beach! We are currently looking for 1-2 helpers to help out around the property with various jobs such as mowing, gardening, tending to the animals (dogs, horses, milking cows and chooks), helping with the veggie garden/fruit trees, cleaning and other odd jobs around the property. Ideally it would be great if you had your own car as there are wonderful places to go and explore. Private accommodation and groceries will be provided in exchange for you giving our busy little family a hand for a bit each day. We are a cattle and sheep farm. the work involved would be gardening, cooking, cleaning, some plumbing and carpentry, electrical work, fencing, stock work and odd jobs and some farm work. We often have orphan calves and lambs to care for. We dont expect you to be able to do all the jobs but if you can help with any of them that would be great. The property is located 5km from coastal crayfishing town of Dongara (350km north of Perth) with one of the best beaches in Australia. There is also fishing, snorkeling, surfing, walking tracks and other sightseeing attractions close by. Very comfortable quarters provided and access to heated swimming pool. We also have dogs, cats, birds, pigs and chooks. Because of the new rule we can no longer sign for 2nd year visa. Only helpers that can speak and understand English may apply.

My husband and I moved to this 240 acre farm in the South Burnett Region of South East Qld 2 years ago and have recently moved into a purpose built cottage (to reduce our footprint) relying on rainwater for the house and bore water for the gardens and to reduce our footprint further we have installed a composting toilet. 40 fruit trees have been planted and raised garden beds made which is the start of our edible oasis. Next on the jobs list is creating wicking beds from IBC totes and fencing the house yard for our two Jack Russell dogs. We have an old thunder box we would like to restore to make into an outdoor composting toilet (let us know if you’re handy on the tools). There’s plenty to do and learn around the farm depending on your ability and interests. Enthusiasm is a must.
