Hi beautiful people! Iโ€™m Christine, a happy spirited former language and arts teacher working across two continents. Since I retired I work in the natural health field. I live on an urban block called The Rooโ€˜s Pouch, where I maintain a sustainable vegetable garden and created a community of nice people living with me. I live in one of the buildings on this sunny property which runs on rainwater harvesting. We avoid chlorine and contaminates by filtering, harmonizing, and energizing our own water though Ionisation. Water conservation is part of life for me. You can come to Maryborough via plane, bus or train. The Hervey Bay Airport is only 30min from my home. There are meanwhile several bus companies to choose from. If you use the train please book Maryborough town from the drop down menu. The shuttle bus from the train station in Maryborough west (20 min out of town) is free of charge if it is pre-booked. As international travelers you qualify for a concession card on Queensland tr...

Welcome to our oyster farm on the beautiful Bellinger River in New South Wales! Weโ€™re a small family-run farm growing premium Sydney rock oysters and building a unique riverside lifestyle. Weโ€™re looking for easygoing, hardworking helpers to lend a hand with oyster farming, general maintenance, gardening, cleaning, and small building projects. The work can be varied, outdoors, and hands-on, with plenty of opportunities to learn about aquaculture and life on the river. In exchange, we offer accommodation, meals, and a real Aussie country/coastal experience. Enjoy fishing, kayaking, exploring nearby beaches and national parks, and sharing stories around the fire after work. Perfect for travellers who love nature, donโ€™t mind getting their hands dirty, and want to experience authentic farm life in a beautiful part of Australia.

We have been hosting helpers for over 12 years, in Queensland, Victoria, and now the far south coast of NSW. We have recently moved from a 600 acre wilderness retreat to a house on a headland in Tathra, a wilderness of a different kind, with the sea in all its moods, and National Parks within easy reach. The headland walking track is literally across the road, and Tathra main beach is a 20 minute walk. We offer accommodation in a cosy bedroom with its own bathroom (also household laundry). The room has a sea view, and is private from the rest of the house. We share kitchen and living spaces, and generally share our meals together. The work required is 4-5 hours work a day, helping with gardening, landscaping and occasional building. We are looking for people who want who are fit, strong and happy to work outdoors. Please bring suitable clothes, boots and hat. There may be occasional days working on our daughter's property, a simply gorgeous location in the Bega hinterland, with ...

We are listed on HELPX because backpackers / travellers contacted us really wanting to do our camel treks but couldn't afford to pay for the experience. These travellers would tell us about helpx and encouraged us to list as hosts. Since 2014 we have hosted people from all over the world and it has been for the most part highly enjoyable. Our profile reflects our commitment to be as clear as possible about what we are offering, and what we expect. Unlike many other experiences you can choose whilst in Australia, being part of a camel trekking company is a once in a lifetime opportunity. You get what the paying guests come to experience, but more because you are allowed behind the scenes and have the chance to really get to know the camels. We accept more helpxer than most hosts so that tasks can be spread amongst numerous helping hands. As we are out on treks it's not possible to take time-out, we are travelling and on the move, however your time with us will be rewarding and satisfyi...

Sleeping accommodation is in a lovely new 2 bedroom cottage next to the house, with some meals on your own and social dinners usually with us. We are fine with mixed meals or vegetarian. We are near the Shoalwater Marine Park and Penguin Island 40mins from Perth city centre. Very close to public transport, cafes and library. Ideal for beach walking, diving, swimming, cycling, fishing, sailing and windsurfing (beach is 60 metres away). Accommodation would take form of a fully insulated cute tiny garden room with access to undercover cooking area and bathroom. IT is small so please See photos. On week days we are usually working in Perth so we cant provide meals, but a well-stocked supermarket is 200 metres away. When possible we can take turns for meals if possible. We average 2/3 hours a day painting, plumbing gardening and other repairs and can negotiate best time to do that, for example maybe itโ€™s more convenient to do two longer days during the week.Greg is usually available to help you with your car or take you fishing, boating or sightseeing if youโ€™re willing to free him up from his other commitments. The closest train station is Beenleigh. Your own car is a plus. We welcome working holiday visa holders with good horse experience and most importantly a passion for horses !! In order to learn your daily task, routine and horses personalities, we will ask you to stay a minimum of 3 weeks. Long stays are really welcome. We start each morning training the horses, washing them and feeding them. All the retired horses need to be feed and watered as well. We need to feed and water all the horses again each night before dark. The ideal helpers will be positive, willing and with a some decent english. Set in a hidden valley of Woonona, this 1 acre oasis is on a journey from forgotten, overgrown grassland to Permaculture wonderland! We have been practicing aspects of sustainability for over 15 years including Permaculture gardening, sustainable building and creating community. Sarah has a deep level of knowledge about market gardening, soil building and organic food & is a qualified Permaculture teacher. Ben is skilled at building with recycled, reclaimed and natural materials, tending fruit trees and teaching ecology & sustainability. The property is located about 5 minutes bike ride from lovely beaches and 5 minutes walk from local shops and access to buses into Wollongong. It`s also only 1.5hrs from Sydney by train. We spent 2010 WWOOFing around the planet with our two children, so we understand how to be good hosts. We love sharing lifestyle and experiences, so hopefully we can help you explore this wonderful part of the world. The current projects involve a range of gardeni...

Hello. I am Laura and I live with my sweet 16-year-old dog, Honey. We live on a gorgeous 2/3-acre property near Castlemaine in rural Victoria. It's a spacious home with a solar system providing most of our power (in summer!), a large shed/workshop and a swimming pool. Another person will be moving here in the next few months. There are magnificent tall gum trees nearby and lots of bird life, which makes for a very peaceful rural vibe. It does not feel suburban here. There are some lovely little bushwalks right near my house. I work from home as a freelance editor and I love swimming in the pool year round. I have a studio which I use as a home office and art studio. I am offering accommodation with 2 x evening meals provided per week, in exchange for 15 hours of work per week and two days off per week. I am looking for help mainly in the garden (weeding, planting, mulching, helping set up wicking beds, etc) and a few household chores. If anyone has the skills to do some paving or sim...

Our Wildlife Park is a privately run business weโ€™ve been building for 15 years, with our biggest growth happening just in the last two. We transformed the 40 acres land into an open-space park with a sanctuary area, fields and gardens, built largely by our own hands. Our park is home to a variety of Australian wildlife including some herd and farm animals, and is located along the famous Great Ocean Road - 15 minutes drive from the famous Twelve Apostles and on the outskirts of the beautiful Great Otway National Park. We have availability all year round with a range of projects and activities needed to be managed from animal caretaking, general park maintenance, gardening and building projects to enhance and make our park welcoming for both our animals and guests. We are looking for proactive, resilient and communal spirits who actively look for ways to help. You should be willing to get your hands dirty, show up with a good work ethics and bring a mature, responsible and honest attit...

We are looking for a couple or two friends to stay for a couple of weeks or more if agreed. We are maintaining our property for sale and we need to keep in condition. There is work removing trees, tidying up the garden and removing debris from the fires and recent storms. There is also cleaning work helping Cate with property management. During free time you are welcome to borrow our electric scooters and go swimming and exploring. We live in Mallacoota, one of Australia's most beautiful places on the southeast coast. It is a World Biosphere Reserve in the middle of the Croajingolong National Park next to the ocean with an estuarine lake system and many, many beaches. If you love wildlife, the outdoors, great views and good food, send us an email (only emails from this site will be responded to). This is very much a cultural exchange (for us and for you) as you will be in our family home sharing our lifestyle. NO SMOKERS OR VEGETARIANS PLEASE. We prefer our helpers to stay 2 weeks or more. Work outside is a major part of what we do so expect to be outside on a rural property as part of the experience. Please message us through this platform to allow us to view your profile The property is located 60km South of Brisbane and 20km West of the Gold Coast on the upper North slope of Mt Tamborine, 320m above sea level. Lots of historic church features incorporated into the homestead and cute rustic outbuildings , antiques and artistic detail abound. Hi We are a couple with young son who live within the Shepherds Ground rural off grid village and farm community. The community is currently in its early stages (12years) with various hemp and sustainable houses under construction. As well as our day jobs we run a small garden around the house and are planting lots of natives while we finish our hemp house.. We can offer a warm, friendly and healthy environment with your own room to sleep in (full AC available so great in summer and winter). We have a kitchen where meals can be prepared from the veggies, eggs, honey, organic meat and produce from the property. You are asked to stay one week minimum and invited to stay for a few months if this suits everybodyโ€™s needs. The jobs will be various and will depend on time of year and our schedule: May include garden jobs, weeding, planting native trees, composting, light farm work and some deck building, de-nailing recycled wood for building and inside painting and wall rendering etc Some...

Room and simple breakfast of toast, tea or coffee, I can show you where to find free bread and there is generally some rice or pasta you can use, occasionally some fruit and vegetables, or other food included but not guaranteed. Ipswich is a lovely place in itself and is about an hours drive to Brisbane, about an hour to the Gold Coast, about an hour and a half to the Sunshine Coast or about an hour to the mountains in Toowoomba. Many visitors to Australia assume it will be hot here and in summer it is, in winter the temperature can be very cold. Make sure to pack some warm winter clothing if travelling in the winter months. I don't have fans or air conditioning so the temperature is what it is. It's hot in summer and cold in winter. Electricity has become too expensive for me to run heating or cooling appliances. I am not on a farm, it is a residential block in Ipswich. My house is small and cluttered and surrounded by trees. I need help to clean my home as I am always busy doing ...

Beautiful location, FRIENDLY HOSTS. Easy travel to Toowoomba from Brisbane. AVAILABILITY FOR one or two people from September 2025 Australian bushland, in summer teeming with goannas, kangaroos, and sometimes evan a koala. Beautiful views and places to explore. We breed dogs for therapy and assistance work, and have pups that we would love a hand with. We also provide high quality accommodation and training for other breeds of dogs. Lots of socialising and cuddles needed for them, and a hand with the day to day care. We have just finished an awesome Natural Swimming Pool, so great 15 metres of swim distance and beautiful environment. You will learn lots about sustainability and the Australian countryside. Sleeping accommodation is in a lovely new 2 bedroom cottage next to the house, with some meals on your own and social dinners usually with us. We are fine with mixed meals or vegetarian. Sorry, not vegan. Family (all well travelled) includes Sonia, usually a zoologist but workin...

This is a Standardbred Race Horse (Harness Racing) farm at the foot of Tamborine Mountain. Located 45 minutes from Brisbane in the beautiful Gold Coast hinterland. Your role on the farm would be helping with the daily care of our racehorses. It's an everyday job starting depending of the sun (4.30am in summer and later on winter time). We start each morning training the horses, washing them and feeding them. All the retired horses need to be feed and watered as well. We need to feed and water all the horses again each night before dark. The ideal helpers will be positive, willing and with a some decent english. Because itโ€™s a 30 hec property and there is always some...

Hello, We are Jen and David and our tropical home and garden needs some work, We live walking distance to the beach and nature reserve in a quiet suburb. We are currently looking for a couple with practical experience. It usually works for us that your stay is around 7 days but this depends on the helper and how it goes for everyone. Currently needing help with painting (including prep), gardening and minor house maintenance. Let us know if you have anything else to offer, as we may be able to use your skills. Mealtimes, sharing the day's news, and hearing your travel and life stories are highlights of our Helpx experience. We would like you to also help cook the evening meal preparation and cleaning up, we all take that in turns. We have a well-provisioned kitchen. My parents live next door and often join us for a meal. We may also ask you to help at my parents' house. You must like dogs as we have 2 dogs and three chickens. Our home is within walking distance to Casuarina Beach and i...

We are surrounded by National Parks and abundant wildlife. The property is 6Ha with a sub-tropical climate and has great country views to the North up to 140km on a clear day. We also have a tennis court (I will always give preference to tennis players who love to cook and eat great food), an outdoor cob pizza oven, chooks/ducks, two Rh...

Our place sits high on a hill with spectacular 360 degree views of mountains, valleys, rolling hills and city lights overlooking all of Albury/Wodonga, twin cities on the Murray River. We are on the main freeway between Melbourne, Canberra and Sydney. Large luxury cedar and rock homestead on 100 acres. Lots of historic church features incorporated into the homestead and cute rustic outbuildings , antiques and artistic detail abound. Beautiful and unique large garden filled with 100+ sculptures, many paths to explore, ponds, organic vegetable and berry gardens, free range poultry and wildlife galore and many other interesting features. Lots of fun things to do and see here and everyone who has stayed has left with a happy and memorable experience. We have been a host farm for over 18 years now with well over 250 helpers having stayed. Usually it is only a one to two week stay but that is negotiable depending on how much work there is and how well we all get on. Sometimes I will accept ...

We live in a fun share house ๐Ÿก in Maryborough, Marry Poppins Town, with awesome meals ๐Ÿ, fireplace ๐Ÿ”ฅ and a big edible garden ๐ŸŒพ๐ŸŒด๐ŸŒณ๐ŸŒฟ. We're Mars, the owner of the property and former owner of multiple language schools and Tracy, a former theatre/restaurant owner who's cooking the most amazing meals and looking after everyone like a mum. There're 2 adorable dogs ๐Ÿ•โ€๐Ÿฆบ๐Ÿ• in the family, so you must be a dog ๐Ÿฆฎ lover. Also 6 chicken ๐Ÿ“ and 2 ducks ๐Ÿฆ†, so we always have fresh eggs ๐Ÿชบ. We need help with building and creating, and with an awesome edible garden. We're about to put 12v solar power into the rooms, also natural air-conditioning and are finishing up the spa bath in the 2nd bathroom... so there's a bit for you to learn and lots of knowledge to take home. We like to work with fun ๐Ÿฅณ, laughter ๐Ÿ˜‚, music ๐ŸŽถ and love to see you letting a bit of your craziness out ๐Ÿคช. Be yourself and join the family... We have had many awesome experiences with travellers so far ๐Ÿ˜ƒ. Please no...

Welcome to Bago maze and wine , a family operated business , farming and tourist activities PLEASE read our description and our conditions at the end as we feel some helpers are arriving unprepared to live away from easy access to shopping or other activities. We have an ongoing construction of paths through our forest for environmental walks if you want to participate in their construction as well as maintaining our present mazes , one operational and one in development stage. If you have a passion for making structures out of timber (Australian hardwoods) we are in a small building phase, itโ€™s easy to learn a lot from a passionate timber person . Winner of the 2022 New South Wales and Australian National landscape architecture award for the best small projects for our maze. We are in the phase of expanding our maze areas into a new rush maze This is going to be a place of gardens and dreams , if you are interested in making a large outdoor art installation out of natural materi...
