Hi there! I’m Chris, a New Zealand resident and a former firefighter here in NZ. I’ve spent a lot of time on Great Barrier Island, where I’ve embraced the outdoor lifestyle and honed my skills as a chef. I’ve also had the opportunity to travel across Europe and Australia, which has deepened my appreciation for different cultures and cuisines. I’m passionate about outdoor adventures, including hunting, fishing, and exploring nature, and I have a real love for animals. I’m easygoing, hardworking, and always ready to take on new challenges or share a great meal with good company.

Hello, I am from Portland, Oregon, United States. I will be traveling in Ireland in November and December followed by Wales and France in January into February and then other parts of Europe from February until April or so. I have never been to Europe but have worked in several places around the US and traveled extensively all around the US and in Japan, Canada, and Central America. I am interested in meeting other volunteers to share experiences, cooking, ideas and languages. The languages I am most interested in learning currently are Italian and Japanese (I can't wait to return to Japan). I am into cooking, photography, hiking, reading, playing pool, architecture and immersing myself in as many diverse cultural experiences as possible. My degree is in liberal arts with a strong focus in philosophy and sociology.

Im an accomplished world traveler and while I’m ok traveling solo it is even better to have a travel companion to share hiking and exploring beautiful mountains lakes and road trip journeys with. I’m in great shape, a good travel companion, easy to get along with, I’m an expert driver and I don’t smoke or snore! Lol. I’ll be in New Zealand January 21,2025 starting in CHC and heading south in a campervan for 10days to do lots of hiking trekking and biking kayaking etc and outdoor exploring. My goal is to get to Fjordlands NP with many stops along the way and back to CHC. I would like a fit healthy non smoking travel companion to share the beauty of So Island NZ with and share some expenses with. I want to see the most beautiful places in South Island.
