It’s brilliant being in the Punjabi region of India – I’ve been here almost 3 weeks now and just a few days ago I was joined by a companion from Croatia, Tomas and we went for a trip to Dharamshala, the home of the Dalai Lama in the Himalayas. This place is spectacular – but touristy too! We travelled together with the Jatinder, the Principal and some of the students at a rural school in Fatehgarh Panjtoor, which is a small village surrounded by farms not far from Amritsar. It’s a great place to do some volunteering and to appreciate life in rural India. I always love meeting new friends & passing the time of day in conversation – you never know what you might learn, if we can learn to listen to each other. El Vagabundo by Gibran Khalil Gibran is a small book of poetry I found in one of those small, street-side kiosks in Colombia and here’s a beautiful poem to share with our fellow travelling souls… Lo encontré en las encrucijadas, un hombre que sólo llevaba una capa y un báculo, y un velo de dolor sobre el rostro. Nicolas is a skipper since he's 18. He crossed the ocean 12 times and knows how to handle stressfull situations. He's a very good handyman because he had to manage to repair everything on boat during charter. He managed a boat rental company during few years and worked on a shipyard for 3 summers.
