I am a well-traveled, active, single creative & cultured woman in my early 70s who could use help in home, garden, storage units, and art studio. My home is a beautiful old 3-storey Queen Anne cottage in the Historic District of New Harmony, Indiana. New Harmony, a small village (pop. 780) on the Wabash River, is the site of two Utopian experiments in the 1800's. If you check out https://visitnewharmony.com, you can learn more about all the town has to offer. I run a small business in handwoven textiles from a studio in an old furniture showroom over the local cafe. There is room for a couple in either the upstairs bedroom or the downstairs guest quarters. However, I have only one kitchen and a shared bathroom. There is strong Wi-fi, a separate family room you can use, and lots of walkable easy access to river trails, downtown, and historic sites. My son and daughter-in-law live nearby. She is a native-French speaking professor of Chemistry at the local university, and my son works...

Hello and welcome to our profile :). If you are reading this and are interested in helping out please do get in touch. Our limited places get booked up very quickly - especially during the summer months. If you are not available until later on and would like to reserve a place with us please drop us a message and we will chat and try and save your preferred dates. Ideally, a minimum commitment of at least one month is necessary. It takes about 2 weeks to settle in and learn things plus shorter stays do not allow you to fully appreciate all that is on offer in our beautiful area. In the past we have many volunteers who regretted not being able to stay longer. This is the beating heart of the Scottish West Highlands - take time to breathe and enjoy it. Katie and I own a small 'crofting' home in a tiny village called Lochailort and we need help all year round. A reasonably good understanding of the English language is necessary. This location is not ideal for improving or learning E...

We are restoring an old traditional Béarnaise house located at the foot of the Pyrenees in the Ouzom valley. We want to share it with people who can help us with the garden as well as with the house to maintain or restore it. Assistance activities concern the maintenance or restoration of buildings (lime plaster, carpentry, plumbing, electricity, etc), maintenance of the garden (brush clearing) and its vegetable garden, whether it is windy or raining, depending on the projects in progress and the skills of each. Slug hunting to be planned every evening at nightfall. Once a week a complete cleaning of the premises will be carried out by all. We ask for 5 hours help a day, 5 days a week. We offer accommodation in a large 4-bed dormitory. Please, bring your work gloves and clothes , if you have any. Everyone must be autonomous and responsible enough to know how to clean and store the tools or things they have used, as well as to participate daily, outside helping time, in all the househo...

This homestay is best suited for a single female only and is available from 28 June. We are a South African family of four, with two girls in primary school, looking for a female helper. We can offer you homestay accommodation for a few hours of help/work per day. We are an easy-going family and would love to have a fun-easy-going person join our household. Both of us are working full time and would need some help with our children before and after school as well as help with some chores in and around the house. Our children are literate in both English and Afrikaans, and our family would love to offer you a taste of our hospitable South African culture!

We are offering travelers a warm, comfortable two-story Celery Top Pine Pole home we built ourself. You will enjoy magical views of the ocean and mountain and will wake to the sounds of the wild birds that flock to our food and water bowls. We are regularly visited by possums, wallaby's and various other wildlife. If you're lucky you may even see a Tasmanian Devil. We aspire to a sustainable way of living and adore our large established organic garden, which we are needing help with maintaining. We ask helpers to provide a minimum of 4.5 hrs of work each day for 5 days with two full days off. If you would like a day off after working a few days we ask you to make up the hours on other days. Some helpers also purchase their own food and only work 2.5 hours a day if this suits you better. We are also very flexible and happy to listen to your requests. Previous gardening experience is essential as well as cooking/helping with evening meals, household duties, and other jobs as required...

I can't see the world, but the world can come see me. Also, there is a private guestroom with private entrance on the second floor above the workshop/cabin combination. . We have a lot you can be involved in, knowledge to share, friendships to build, and opportunities for growth. Below are our routines and some projects. We are near the Shoalwater Marine Park and Penguin Island 40mins from Perth city centre. Very close to public transport, cafes and library. Ideal for beach walking, diving, swimming, cycling, fishing, sailing and windsurfing (beach is 60 metres away). Accommodation would take form of a fully insulated cute tiny garden room with access to undercover cooking area and bathroom. IT is small so please See photos. On week days we are usually working it Perth so we cant provide meals, but a well-stocked supermarket is 200 metres away. We average 2/3 hours a day painting, plumbing gardening and other repairs and can negotiate best time to do that, for example maybe it’s more convenient to do two longer days during the week. When you email please let us know when you plan to get to Perth and how you are travelling (flying in, driving or bus etc.). Hello! I am looking for enthusiastic helpers for a week of outdoor work. The tasks could include building, gardening, permaculture, lawn mowing, and firewood, depending on your skill level and eagerness to learn. I have a sleepout available with a queen bed and two single beds that will suit either a couple or friends as long as they dont mind sharing a room. It’s important that you can understand English well for your safety. At the moment, I have several animals on the property: 9 cows of mixed ages, sheep, laying chickens (chooks), 2 friendly large dogs, 1 cat, and 5 turtles. Our animals live a stress-free life and are not afraid of people. If you feel nervous around animals, I will likely keep you away from them until you feel comfortable. Please do not take offense; these animals are a part of our home, and I am sure you will still enjoy your time with us. Here are some tasks we would appreciate help with: carpentry/handyman work, painting, gardening, and farm maintenance. We ...

We farm sheep and beef in the heart of the Catlins, in Tawanui at the start of the popular Catlins river walk. The farm consists of sheep, cattle, four rideable horses and some coloured pet Gotland sheep along with an array of wild deer roaming the hill. Help will consist of some stock work, some fencing, maintenance of all sorts, gardening, firewood and general helping around the house. Always having fun and a good laugh as we work. I don't travel so its nice to meet people from all walks of life and learn about there culture. If you are keen for some work, and want to meet some locals and enjoy the breath taking Catlins, please get in contact.

You will like it here! We need help in our garden in the next months, e.g. watering, weeding, cutting branches and so on. It is not hard work! We are a little unconventional community of 4 persons (67,66,72,75), 1 friendly dog and 2 playful cats and we live in a cosy house surrounded by a garden. My wife and I are building our natural strawbale house on our bush block. We are near lots of beautiful surfing and fishing beaches and national parks. We are looking for someone with carpentry and woodworking experience to assist me and my carpenter finish the wall and roof frames over the next few months, including some timber milled here for the roof with our portable sawmill. We would ideally expect assistance for three days a week, approximately 5 hour long work days. Any extra hours on top of this amount, we may be able to offer you some financial payment. The permaculture project and the Farm develop in the social, historical and urban fabric of the town of Modica (RG), mainly between the Fontana, Dente and Pennino districts. We actively collaborate with other projects in the province, from which we learn a lot. We live a sober, frugal, healthy life. We follow, in a somewhat radical way, the ethics of Permaculture and many of its principles. After a period of training in horticulture and spiritual reconnection in the Loire in a Sōtō Zen temple, a PDC at Il Filo di Paglia (Comiso) and two years of agricultural experiences of the most varied in south-eastern Sicily, we feel ready to open ourselves to volunteers , willing and passionate who want to live, share and exchange within in this vibrant and beautiful setting. The Mediterranean Sea is just 20 minutes by train (Sampieri train station). We've got a 17th century house for the project (Oct. 2022), quite abandoned for more than one year: Plenty of work has been already done, some mino...

Hi, we’re Terry (64) & Tricia (56)! We live on a beautiful 5 acre lifestyle property in Yandaran, about 35 km north of Bundaberg. Yandaran is a small rural village surrounded by farmland, offering a relaxed country atmosphere. We love showing people around our wonderful area - you can enjoy fishing, catching mud crabs, exploring freshwater river crossings, and visiting a beautiful beach only minutes away. We’re looking for some help putting the finishing touches on our property- small fencing jobs for animal yards, establishing lawn and garden areas and a few homestead projects. We offer accommodation in our 21 foot caravan, complete with own toilet and bathroom. We haven’t hosted for a few years, but we have previous experience as hosts and made many friends around the world because of it - and we look forward to meeting many more!

Hello. I’m Paolo, a recently retired musician. I live in a mountain area made of rounded, wooded peaks in the inland of the Italian Riviera, at the point of connection between two regions, Tuscany and Liguria, widely renown for art towns (Pisa, Lucca, Florence among others) and picturesque fishing villages. It’s a quiet setting to get away from it all, with a 360 degree view stretching for tens of miles and right down to the Mediterranean Sea, only 25 km/15 miles away. Here is where the Alta Via (High Route of the Ligurian Mountains) starts, a long-distance waymarked hiking trail for nature lovers. I speak Italian (native), English (fluent) and French (fluent). I’m looking for volunteers who are self-motivated and good with their hands, willing to help me with general maintenance around my property in exchange for food and lodging in a friendly environment. I appreciate a baggage of life experience that is not too small, so volunteers in their mid to late twenties at least and in t...

We grow organic table grapes, a few fruit trees, chickens and a few pigs. This is a real farm experience, mostly working in the vineyard, with some fun too. There is biking to town, swimming in the ocean or our lake, fishing, basketball, volleyball, hiking, nature walks, beach strolling and look for fossils at Blue Beach, camp fires , rope swing in our little lake, take in the fantastic views, sunsets, star gazing, internet, phone and go to nearby towns such as Wolfville and Hantsport as well as the rest of the Annapolis Valley with the local bus. The accommodations and kitchen are separate for helpers cooking with an abundance of food. This is a more independent farm stay. Hope you can make it here.

Looking for help! AT THE MOMENT LOOKING FOR HELP IN THE FOREST ,CLEARING BUSHES AND PATHS. This place was born as a Botanical Garden cured by Donatella & Giorgio, for the past 30 years, hosting many different species of common and rare plants. We have different areas in our property: a botanical garden around the house, a horticulture garden 400m from home, different size of ponds, a really old Chestnuts forest, few Land Art intallations too. We are located in the middle of the Natural Reserve called “Il Contrafforte Pliocenico” on the hills of Bologna, which got beautiful trekking route such as the Via degli Dei, the famous trekking route which link Bologna to Florence in just 4-5 days of trekking, mountain biking or horse riding! We also run a BnB but in the last years people passing by are a lot more than expected. Help needed might include:planting, garden maintenance, making paths, clearing the wood, producing yummy jams and products, collecting aromatic herbs to make our f...

Gardening, housework, light mechanical, a bit of hunting, all sorts of things, never boring.A wicked sense of humor is a good asset to bring. handy to Routeburn and Greenstone tracks. You will need your own internet connection as I don't supply wifi. A bit isolated, not for the precious, no trophy hunters!! Please don't apply unless you intend to come for a minimum stay of two weeks. One person only. We do not get involved with internships or visa applications. Vegetarians and vegans would probably not be comfortable as we eat meat daily. I am off grid and totally dependent on solar, so you have to charge your devices during the day and definitely no hairdryers! Accommodation is a house bus in warmer weather or a room in the house in winter, not shared usually. Lastly I also play the guitar (badly) and sing (worse) but it's all about smile not style :-) , please don't come if you have a heavy cold or flu, I'm involved with the elderly. Cheers Al

Kim and I (Lucy) believe that good food is essential to living well and to eat and live well, we need to have control over our food source. Our organically managed farm and gardens supply most of our food.. We see permaculture as the over-arching management system and under this umbrella, we practice regenerative agriculture through rotational managed grazing, planting trees and slowing down the flow of water across the landscape to keep the pasture greener longer. We value our resources, try to limit our consumption of non-necessary things and we consider healthy food as a key part of our lifestyle. Our lifestyle has had a positive effect on all our past helpers, just read our reviews to see how good it has been for them. We've had some really great helpers and they have said some lovely things about us! We enjoy having people here and they seem to enjoy it too. Kim and Lucy run a cattle herd and have other animals from time to time, like chickens, pigs, sheep and goats. We used t...

Hobbits are "little people" with big hearts and big bare feet firmly connected with mother earth. They habitually live "under the radar" of some PC embellished society and try all their best to not succumb to the madness of it. Claiming their birth right to nature's abundance, love, beauty and endless creativity they naturally make up to and make do with the lack of gold caused by the greedy child-eating dragon behind the bare stone mountains.. Hi, my name is Marianne. I live on a classic New Zealand all-day sunny "tree quarter acre of hobbit shire" looking down to Oamaru. If you arrive early enough at my kitchen window or even up on the jungle hill behind the cottage, you can see the sea and watch the sunrise. A 10 minute stroll down Eden Street gets you either to the CBD or to the shoreline. I am providing three basic meals per day as well as a comfortable and quiet room for your stay and to relax after our daily four hours of working together "out there", somewhere on some befitt...

We are offering travelers a warm, comfortable two-story Celery Top Pine Pole home we built ourself. You will enjoy magical views of the ocean and mountain and will wake to the sounds of the wild birds that flock to our food and water bowls. On week days we are usually working it Perth so we cant provide meals, but a well-stocked supermarket is 200 metres away.

Our property is full of wildlife and birds, and we have a large crystal clear lake if you like cool water swimming, backing onto national park. You can bring your own accommodation or stay in my tiny house on wheels - see YouTube video. The house plans have been designed by Australian earthship expert Martin Freeney of Earthship Eco Homes.

In august we are full, but are happy to have People coming in July or the first 2 weeks of September.
