Hi, my name is Sylvia and I'm Dutch. After having lived for the majority of my life in cities I wanted to roam around with Helpx, so I did. However, I fell in love with the first place where I stayed, many years ago. A very small rural village in Bavaria, Germany, at the Czech border. I rented the huge house and intend to stay here, with my little dog, for the rest of my life. It’s a beautiful hilly area and the forests invite for long walks in which you may spot deer, lynxes, boars and other animals. Public transport ends in Weiden (train) or Lohma (bus), but I have a car, can pick you up and drop you off. Plenty to see within reasonable distance like Nuremberg, Regensburg, Munich, and Prague. Ski and snowboard centre at 7 km distance and lots of others a bit further away. In the holiday season, Christmas markets can be found everywhere. You will have your own room (with WIFI) and a shared bathroom, and you are welcome to the rest of the house too. I‘ll try to cook for you what you...

Looking for a lovely volunteer to join us and our animals. AVAILABILITY FROM the middle of May. Please contact us if you are interested in helping look after our wonderful animals. Experience with horses is useful but not necessary as long as you are happy to care for them. You will live as part of the family - during your stay, our home will be your home. We are a married couple living on a property with our DOGS, HORSES and some elderly but treasured chickens. Depending on the time of year, we also run a small scale rescue and rehabilitation centre for hedgehogs. There are stunning views looking out over a Devon Wildlife Nature Reserve and beautiful countryside. We live in a very attractive rural area of Devon on the outskirts of a beautiful old village called DOLTON (please look on "Google Earth") about a 45 minute drive from Dartmoor National Park. We are an active family of 5 ( 2 adults and 3 teenagers) with different interests: adventure racing, travelling, permaculture, horse riding, to name a few activities. We need help with gardening, building features around the organic farm. I ( Sophie) am on the farm, my husband and children are most of the time at school or doing their own activities. We don’t live on the premises, but we enjoy good chats and dinner all together if you are able to participate to prepare dinners.

Hey there! I live in a 270 year-old house with a barn, garden, well, two garden huts, a small meadow and some animals. The property covers about 1900 m² and is located at the edge of a small village, directly next to forests and fields — lots of space, peace and nature, but also many interesting corners and small projects. The location is rural and peaceful, but still reasonably well connected (bus stop 1 km away). Distances: • Neunkirchen-Seelscheid – 3 km • Siegburg – 15 km • Bonn – 25 km • Cologne – 35 km Perfect for hiking and mountain biking through gently rolling landscapes with light forests, little villages, wide meadows and small valleys with streams and ponds. You can also enjoy cultural excursions along the Rhine and in Cologne and Bonn: cathedrals, churches, museums, Rhine boat trips (for example to the Drachenfels, the Loreley or Remagen), concerts and clubbing in Cologne until the early morning. I am happy to take you out on one or two excursions depending on how ...

I can't see the world, but the world can come see me. First and foremost, I want to thank all the helpers who came from United Kingdom-England, France, Belgium, Italy, China, Japan, Australia and New Zealand. Welcome Helpers. We are a family of 5 living in the Appalachian Mountains of West Virginia. Sue is the founder of Peaceful Hollow. Her daughter Ruth moved to the Hollow later as well as her husband Tim and their 2 daughters. Our hollow is quite with no neighbors in sight. There are no city lights, and you can see every star on a clear night! Our homestead consists of Sue's workshop/cabin, Tim & Ruth's cabin and one very small guest cabin. Also, there is a private guestroom with private entrance on the second floor above the workshop/cabin combination. . We have a lot you can be involved in, knowledge to share, friendships to build, and opportunities for growth. Below are our routines and some projects. We would love to involve you! - Caring for our honey bees, chickens,...

I live in the Hokianga over looking the water to Horeke. This is a 46 hectare dry stock farm with mostly young beef cattle but i also have a couple of milking goats, 6 Alpacas, pigs and two riding horses and have access to a pine forest for riding. I have two working dog, 4 cats and two very friendly very small house dogs. I also have a vegetable garden, enough chickens for nice fresh eggs, home grown bananas and various other fruit if they are in season and ripe. I would like help to tend the vegetable garden, chores on the farm, there is always a great variety of chores. If you like horse riding i am looking for a confident and capable horse rider, your riding abilities and horsemanship need to be of a good standard. I ride on farmland, forest, open ground and some road and you need to not be afraid to ride out on your own. More suited to someone with a background doing fun rides, trails and hunting than schooling as they are not rocking horses. Riding out to keep their fitness...

This is an exciting opportunity to have an experience that will stay with you throughout your life. Our Foundation aims at helping rural children receive a qualitative outstanding education. We have a volunteer teaching program to assist rural teachers and children get exposure to foreign languages and cultures. Because English is the second language in Thai schools, we concentrate on improving the English language skills of both rural teachers and children. At present, we aim to help 4 public elementary schools (grades 1 - 6) close to Chiang Mai. We are currently taking applications for volunteers who would available to start sometime between mid-May and the end of June and commit to at least 8 weeks . We are looking for volunteers to teach English only. Couples are welcome as well. NOTE: We do not charge volunteers any fees for staying with us. The generous gift of your time and dedication is all the donation we will ask of you. We provide the volunteers lodging and meals in ...

Simon and Sylvie live in a big house in the suburbs of Toulouse, with a small garden. UPDATE: In the month of July we will be doing some fairly technical painting work (ceilings, doors etc) and some insulation work involving wood, nails and hammers. We will also be fixing up old bicycles. We`re looking for two friends or a couple to stay with us for 10 days or so in July In exchange for 4 hours a day doing these tasks we shall put you up and feed you with good French cuisine. We can put helpers up in the attic apartment - an independent flat designed, constructed and decorated by helpers past. There is a lot to see in Toulouse and we`re only a few minutes from the nearest metro station into town ... and the brand-new téléphérique to nowhere. Helpers often find that a week in a big French city is welcome relief after weeks out in the sticks with no night-life, cafés or young people around. Toulouse has all this ... and more! Franco-Irish family - Simon and Sylvie - with one d...

We are on an 70 acre farm in North Pope County, Illinois and are virtually surrounded by the Shawnee National Forest. Having been on this farm for 13 years, we are still developing infrastructure and are continuing to plant in the orchard and various berries as well as establishing and expanding garden and crop areas. We are a GMO, herbicide and pesticide free farm in all of our outdoor areas. As we are far away from "modern agricultural" property, we feel that we should have no problems with cross pollination of our crops with GMO's or damage/exposure from/to ag chemicals. There are many projects currently in process or in the planning stages. This summer/fall we hope to get new water and electric lines ran to all the barns and the greenhouse as well as get a fiber studio framed in and get the finishing touches on the greenhouses. Tasks on the farm are endless, so there are always things to do year round. Clearing brush, cutting wood, building fence, baling hay, sawing lumber, ...

I am an ecologist, surfer and mum, who is passionate about restoring our sand dune ecosystems. I am owner operator of a sand dune restoration company. We grow and plant sand dune plants, restoring this threatened environment and essential buffer between the land and the sea. We live a healthy lifestyle by the ocean in the small coastal village of Ngunguru on the Tutukaka Coast located 30 km from Whangarei City. The Tutukaka Coast is well known for its pristine beaches, surfing, diving at the Poor Knights, fishing, walking and enjoying the beautiful coastline. Own transport preferred but happy to pick up from the bus or airport in Whangarei and bring out to the coast if travelling without. I am looking for strong, fit, and reliable helpers to join a nursery and beach planting team for 4 weeks, from Wednesday 24 June to Wednesday 22 July 2026. This is physical outdoor work. I'm Thanasis, a 45 years old greek man living in the South of the Peloponnes. I'm a farmer, with oranges trees and some olive trees. I also have a shop, mainly selling coffee that I roast on site. I need help all the year to maintain the big farm (orange and olive harvest, trees pruning, pick-up fallen oranges, and so on..) If you come, you will have your own room (1 for a couple or separate), and access to all the rest of the house (kitchen, bathroom...). I like to share the meal, and provide food if you want to cook. You also can use WI-FI connection. You could enjoy the life between the farm and the city of Skala Lakonia, wich offer a lot of coffee shop, restaurants, and any kind of stores. Minimum stay is 2 weeks, to allow time to learn about life on the farm. I need help for a maximum of 5 hours per day, 5 days per week, depending on the weather. I really like to meet new people and introduce them to Greece history. I practice karaté (three times per week) and would be happy t...

=============== Update May 18, 2026. We have space for one person starting June 1. And maybe a space starting July 13. =============== Spaces that may be available are: a small loft room that is accessible by a short ladder, or a loft bed above our yoga room. And sometimes other bedrooms when people go away. Top skills we are looking for right now: - Cooking/cleaning - indoor plants and sprouts. - Help with renovation projects (finishing a basement bathroom.) Note: We don't always book people many months in advance, we prefer to wait until closer to the start dates so we can see how much space we have. Some people here stay longer than they initially planned so we don't always know the timing of openings long in advance. If you would like to help, please let us know your range of availability and preferred length of stay. We are an 11-person vegetarian community house in Toronto. My name is Steve and living here is also Jeff (from Hong Kong), Luke (from Canada/Africa), Swetha a...

We are restoring an old traditional Béarnaise house located at the foot of the Pyrenees in the Ouzom valley. We want to share it with people who can help us with the garden as well as with the house to maintain or restore it. Assistance activities concern the maintenance or restoration of buildings (lime plaster, carpentry, plumbing, electricity, etc), maintenance of the garden (brush clearing) and its vegetable garden, whether it is windy or raining, depending on the projects in progress and the skills of each. We run a well-known organic market garden in the Alpes Maritime, right on the Riviera coast and the Italian border. It is an area of outstanding natural beauty and popular with tourists. Our garden is on mountain terraces above the town, but only a 10 minute walk to the beach and 20 to the old town. Access is easy by train or bus from Nice or Italy. For the next 5 months we are looking for hands-on and experienced support with a number of urgent tasks. This could be a paid situation for an experienced person willing to contract for the season which ends 30 September. The work includes sowing, planting, fertilising, harvesting for market, basic landscaping, fencing, irrigation repair and DIY/maintenance and will probably best suit a fit and younger male helper. We may also take 1 or 2 experienced volunteers for shorter periods. As a produce grower, our crops include organic lemons, oranges, avocados, vegetables. Leaf crops and herbs. These we sell at a combination of local market, hig...

Wonderful opportunity !…..Looking for a single person, (ideally aged early-mid 20s or older) to help out with a variety of jobs from 21 June 2026 throughout the summer for one or two week stays. (length of stay can be discussed and agreed). There will be jobs outside mainly tidying up the garden, where there are flower and vegetable beds, as well as fruit trees, + some indoor and outdoor painting. You will be the kind of person who enjoys being outdoors for most of the day (all weathers). Ideal for those interested in garden design and who enjoy being in a rural environment. When it’s raining there’ll be some indoor jobs to do - DIY, cleaning and general household tasks/maintenance. Ideal for person with practical skills. Approximately 25 hours per week, with two clear rest days which can be taken individually or together, depending on the weather! I run Air BnB and 1:1 English language courses from my farmhouse in the Norfolk countryside, a short drive from the beautiful...

It`s been over 10 years now that we are participating in programs like this. We never get tired of new people staying and having strangers turning into friends. Also our neighbors and others in the village enjoy the exchange. They are always up for a small talk, which is great for you to practice your German! About us: We have organic breed Wagyu Beef (the most expensive meat in the world). There are 3 Horses, gooses, Chicken, sheep and a bunch of Cats that are also part of the Farm. We also grow all sort of crops. Either to feed our animals or to sell them. We also grow apples, plums, pears, potatoes and many other things that grow in a garden. There is never a time during summer where u can not just go outside and eat something straight from where it grows.. Ruesselhausen is a small village. Just perfect to be in the nature. There are bikes for you to use so you can discover the surrounding nature. It would be good if you speak a little German because not all of us speak English. ...

We live in a fun share house in Maryborough, Marry Poppins Town, with awesome meals and a big edible garden. We're Mars, the owner of the property and Tracy, a former theatre/restaurant owner who's cooking the most awesome meals and looking after everyone like a mum. There're 2 adorable dogs in the family, so you must be a dog lover. Also 6 chicken, so we always have fresh eggs. We need help with building and creating, and with an awesome but overgrown edible garden. We're about to get ducks in addition, we're about to put 12v solar power into the rooms, also natural air-conditioning and are finishing up the spa bath in the 2nd bathroom... so there's a bit for you to learn and lots of knowledge to take home. We like to work with fun and laughter and love to see you letting a bit of your craziness out. Be yourself and join the family... We have had awesome experiences with travellers so far 😃. Please note that there's a minimum of 1 week stay, we do not like to be used as a pit...

Our family runs a western riding facility with 30 stalls, where we provide horse boarding and training, including reining and cow work. We also have a western saloon, where we host weddings, special events, and are open for our club members on weekends. In return for cleaning out stalls and feeding horses (and the odd other job), we offer room and board, sorry we cannot host vegetarians; we include you in family activities and you have the possibility to improve your riding skills in western riding (cow work and reining) in our 30 x 60 m arena and - how about -learning some line dancing!! A bicycle is available, if you want to explore the near surroundings. We are located close to Switzerland, it`s about a 15 minutes car ride to Basle, and also only about 20 minutes to Germany. Our area is a great tourist region. If you are mature, fit and self-motivated, willing to stay for a minimum of 2 weeks, experienced with handling horses, we would be happy to hear from you!

Hi! I'm Tonje and I moved to my farm in 2020. And there's always a lot to do here. This small farm is in a very small town, by the fjord in Hardanger. Its a good place for hiking and culture. The area is quiet and scenic. The closest cities are Odda and Bergen. The bosses of the house are 4 dogs and 3 cats. Right now I don't have any farm animals of my own. But the neighbor's sheep live here too. I would have been very grateful for various help on my small farm. The work can be very varied. But I need help with maintenance of the outdoor area, wood working, chopping firewood and snow shoveling. I also have an airbnb, so cleaning, organize and tidying jobs are also tasks that I may need help with. Help are appreciated a lot. For your help, I can offer beautiful scenery, food and a private bedroom.

About Us We’re Joseph and Deborah, living in a large, older home on ten wooded acres surrounded by lakes and protected forests near Gainesville, Florida. Joseph is a retired professional photographer, and Deborah is a voice teacher who has worked both at the University of Florida and in her private studio. We’re well-traveled, enjoy thoughtful conversation, and genuinely like meeting people from different backgrounds. Our home was originally designed as a hunting and fishing lodge and has evolved into a comfortable, lived-in space with plenty of character. The property includes a small pond, abundant wildlife, and a quiet, peaceful setting with very little light or noise pollution. Nights here are especially beautiful. Please Read Before Reaching Out To help ensure a good fit, a few important points: * We are not a working farm * We are currently hosting short stays only (about one week to start) * The help is primarily: * housework * cooking * light gardening * occasional simple...

Welcome! Our family owned and operated certified organic livestock farm in North Central British Columbia is excited to have you stay and become a part of everything we have going on. We’ve been operating since 2008, primarily raising Berkshire pigs, Dexter cattle, Katahdin sheep, laying hens, broiler chickens and of course bronze breasted turkeys for thanksgiving and Christmas. On top of that, we’re home to two Labrador retrievers (Ned and Nelly), 3 outdoor cats, 2 guard alpacas and a family of Muscovy ducks. In other words, you will never find yourself not in the company of animals! Aside from livestock, we have recently built a small farm store / café that cooks the meat raised on the farm. We also take pride in creating all recipes from scratch, from the sauces to the buns of the burgers. Currently only operating during the summer months, 3 days per week. It’s been a lot of work, but a great way to get more people out to the farm, eating good food and connecting with the community...

Gardening, housework, light mechanical, a bit of hunting, all sorts of things, never boring.A wicked sense of humor is a good asset to bring. handy to Routeburn and Greenstone tracks. You will need your own internet connection as I don't supply wifi. A bit isolated, not for the precious, no trophy hunters!! Please don't apply unless you intend to come for a minimum stay of two weeks. One person only. We do not get involved with internships or visa applications. Vegetarians and vegans would probably not be comfortable as we eat meat daily. I am off grid and totally dependent on solar, so you have to charge your devices during the day and definitely no hairdryers! Accommodation is a house bus in warmer weather or a room in the house in winter, not shared usually. Lastly I also play the guitar (badly) and sing (worse) but it's all about smile not style :-) Cheers Al

Hello, I am looking for some help with gardening and house maintenance, preferably someone with a bit of gardening know-how to help control (in a wild way) a medium size garden Also help with dog walking and possibly pet sitting for short periods. Bit of strimming and mowing, and some weeding. Renovation of window frames and painting when weather allows. Trying to grow veg as much as possible, but not easy up here.(lots of rabbits and deer) Indoors --- well could do with a bit of organizing! Also some help with the bigger cleaning jobs, like the vast windows! I am living in the middle of Dartmoor National Park which is a great place for walking and scenery, and one of the last remaining wilderness areas in England. Person with organisational skills and sense of humour and who loves the great outdoors and the quiet would be ideal. One lovely dog and cat in the house, and the occasional guest. Please note, due to financial constraints I cannot accommodate long term helpers , part...

We are learning and exchanging ideas about Permaculture and self sustainability. Our farm is situated in a Natural Reserve area called Bananal, located 18km away from the beaches of Perube - SP. Here we have begun our project. Using the idea behind observing and working with what is natural and unique to this landscape we are learning to grow local plants and fruit trees, as well as understand the forestation of the area, to best work with the land to support us and our animals. Currently we are growing orchards of multiple fruit trees, such as jack-fruit, papaya, starfruit, goiaba, bananas, coffee, cacao, and limes to name a few, as well as vegetables in our garden. We are using the concept of building green, by using local materials found on the land, such as different varieties of woods, bamboo and clay. We have switched most of our toilets over to the dry toilet system in order to make less of an environmental impact and use the compost to make fertilizer. Using the animal ma...

I am an English woman. I live in a large property, in Saint Maur des Bois, 50800; opposite a medieval church. William the Conqueror used to have a chateau here but it has long gone now. I would like ideally to find someone to stay with me long term, but I love to host shorter stays too. I love meeting new people. Help needed in the garden with weeding, cleaning , animal care and general home maintenance. The garden isn't huge, but I can't lift heavy stuff any more. I am fairly easy going and treat our helpers as part of the family. The house is not far from the golden beaches at Granville, great for swimming. Le Mont St. Michel is about 30 minutes by car or bus. Christian Dior Museum and Gardens are 20 mins away by train. The closest large town is Villedieu les Poeles, famous for its bell foundry and medieval buildings. Today there are many arts and craft studios and a thriving café culture. WWII landing beaches are to the North. Loads of museums, history and sights. Paris is about 3...

Located in Mani, in the very south of mainland Greece, about 300m above sea level in the foothills of the Taygetos mountain range, overlooking the Messinian Gulf you'll find my 3ha of half olive grove, interspersed with native trees and the other half a naturally grown woodland. I have converted to organic status and returned the land to traditional farming methods, next is growing fruit and vegetables and perhaps keeping some livestock.. The work in hand is varied and includes the maintenance of trees and harvest of olives, clearing land, rebuilding dry stone walls and housing. I aim to combine traditional materials, from sustainable resources, and recycled materials wherever possible and would welcome your help at any time of year, especially though at harvest time Nov.-Feb. In general I prefer longer stays, at least 2 weeks, longer after a trial period. Update: The PV park is up and running for some years now. The house is as good as finished, using mainly locally sourced and re-us...

Hi, my name is Auduh. Me and my family are Bedouins who live in the Wadi Rum desert in Jordan. We have been working with tourists for years. We offer overnight stays in our traditional camp or cave and we take our guests on 4x4 Jeep tours, camel rides and hiking/climbing tours.. We have learned to speak English through working with the tourists from a young age. We love our simple life in the desert, work hard during the day and relax around the campfire at night. We offer you a free stay in my home in Wadi Rum village. You will really experience the traditional way of living in and around the desert. We will teach you traditional dance, some arabic words and show you around in the desert. You will meet the locals people, and learn about our culture, customs, and traditions. I also enjoy learning different languages and would be happy to help in teaching volunteers Arabic and other aspects of Bedouin life. I love meeting and getting to know people from different cultures from all ov...

Slug hunting to be planned every evening at nightfall. Once a week a complete cleaning of the premises will be carried out by all. We ask for 5 hours help a day, 5 days a week. We offer accommodation in a large 4-bed dormitory. Please, bring your work gloves and clothes , if you have any.
