Established in 2009, our growing NGO addresses the need for community empowerment amongst the marginalized and vulnerable people of Eastern Uganda. Our primary focus is to holistically rehabilitate and restore victims of social injustice. We enable communities through primary and secondary education, vocational training and income generating activities, palliative care and financial development support for peasant farmers. Our teams currently operate 3 nursery schools, a rabbitry, a carpentry workshop, a horticultural farm and an empowerment academy, all of which accept volunteers who work alongside the local communities. Whether you have an applicable skill, or you simply want to contribute to aid initiatives in Africa, we openly welcome you. You can work for as many projects as you wish, and for as long as you wish. This flexibility will also allow you to see the local area – Sipi Falls, the source of the Nile river and Mount Elgon; trips that we can help you organize to make your...

A room is available for your homestay. Because of the help I would like to ask, mature ladies who have enough experience/knowledge of handling house holding chores and cooking are welcome. No problem if you cannot cook Japanese dishes. Vegetarian is welcome only from summer to autumn. It's easy to talk about next step of your homestay if how long from when, how you can help, what you want to do during homestay in addition to help works are written in your request. I will reply to only applicants who read my profile and understand/satisfy requirements. I'm a 67 years old male living alone and have a small private organic vegetable garden. I am happy if someone can help me to maintain vegetable garden and household chores including cooking. I also can enjoy helping my guest to learn Japanese language. We can visit at sightseeing places/aesthetic landscape when we have free time. At the same time, I'm interested to hear your stories about helpx and learn foreign languages as well ...

Hi everyone. My name's Claud I'm a beekeeper and a horse trainer I live on a small island south of Greece called Kythira. The island is full of beautiful beaches and green small forests. I owe nearly 100 beehives and I need help maintaining the equipment and taking care of them. I also help a friend ride and train and take care of his horses. I'm constantly busy and almost always not at home. Ideally I would need help for a few hours a day. I have a car we can share if you have a driving licence. So you can explore around. Or I can be your guide in my free time.

We are offering travelers a warm, comfortable two-story Celery Top Pine Pole home we built ourself. You will enjoy magical views of the ocean and mountain and will wake to the sounds of the wild birds that flock to our food and water bowls. We are regularly visited by possums, wallaby's and various other wildlife. If you're lucky you may even see a Tasmanian Devil. We aspire to a sustainable way of living and adore our large established organic garden, which we are needing help with maintaining. We ask helpers to provide a minimum of 4.5 hrs of work each day for 5 days with two full days off. If you would like a day off after working a few days we ask you to make up the hours on other days. Some helpers also purchase their own food and only work 2.5 hours a day if this suits you better. We are also very flexible and happy to listen to your requests. Previous gardening experience is essential as well as cooking/helping with evening meals, household duties, and other jobs as required...

I’m a single mum with shared custody of an engaging 13 year old daughter, plus a little dog, looking for someone to join us from mid-March and stay for 6-8 weeks (or longer). I am self-employed in an import/export business, and have a large house and garden, the care of which get away from me without assistance! The help needed is with domestic tasks (dishes, cleaning etc) in the house, and mostly maintaining the garden and outside of the property. Someone who’s a bit handy and could undertake a few little fix-it jobs would be an added bonus. I work full-time, and sometimes need assistance to get Abigail to her various activities, so a full drivers license is required. My elderly mum occasionally needs to be driven places as well - she's a fun lady who provides vibrant and lively conversation. Abigail is pretty self-sufficient, and of course is only with me half the time, but she has a wide variety of interests and a zany sense of humour... she is easy to spend time with if you can ...

The property is a small Beef cattle farm on the mid-north coast. Located 40 minutes drive from Port Macquarie town and beaches and 20 minutes from Wauchope and the nearest train station. This place is a really good option for someone on their way between Sydney and Brisbane who wants to break the trip for a few weeks. We are a couple with an adult son who is away at University. We have horses, chickens, ducks,3 dogs and cattle. We have a 2nd farm near Kempsey where we run cattle so sometimes we go over there to work as well. My husband and I both work from home although sometimes I have to spend days away doing fieldwork. We would expect between 3-5 hrs work a day, depending on what needs to be done, with 1 day off each week, usually a weekday, a lift into town can be arranged. Accommodation is in our house, and you will eat with the family. I would appreciate sharing the cooking and cleaning. Wi-Fi available, non-smokers only. The usual chores will involve some gardening or g...

This is a unique opportunity to live in a museum! I am the curator and caretaker of an historic homestead built between 1862-1880, located within extensive gardens. Part of the house now functions as a museum. The property is in a rural setting at Greenough - just off the Brand Hwy- 19 kms south of Geraldton and 400km north of Perth. This place can seem isolated if you do not have a car. However, I do have a bicycle available, and I take helpers into Geraldton at Least once a week, and to community events, as well as showing you local attractions. I have planted fruit trees and established an organic vegetable garden. Helpers must like animals as I have guinea pigs and 2 dogs. The property is close to isolated stretches of beach, bushland and other tourist attractions. Work includes gardening, cooking, cleaning, art projects, translating, helping keep the museum open, minor property maintenance, etc. Only have accommodation for one person at a time and prefer non-smoking helpers...

Your own suite with toilet and shower, kitchenette with fridge, microwave and kettle etc. 25 mins to Kerikeri, Bay of Islands. We ask for 5 hours work a day for accommodation and food. Hello, We live 25 km from Picton in the Marlborough Sounds on the seaside. It is just myself and my partner Red in the house and there is a spare outside room and a caravan. We are both artists. Red is a blacksmith and I am a handweaver and painter. The views here are spectacular and it is hard not to waste a lot of time enjoying them. We feed the bellbirds and Tuis on the deck every day and they are very near. Here you are constantly surrounded by native bird song. We have an outside room with a double and a single bed in it and a composting toilet and a shower. There is also a caravan. We are both retired and live in a converted barn in about two acres of land. The nearest town is Villefranche de Rouergue which is ten kilometres away. We have lived in France long enough to appreciate what we call proper food so. we strive to vary the diet so that no main meal is repeated for at least 14 days (unless specially requested) It may be French, it may be British, or it may be a mixture of French and British and on occasions you will taste the local delicacies We are very flexible about working hours all we ask is that in return for five hours work per day, five days a week, at a time to suit yourself, we will provide you with good healthy tasty food and a private comfortable room which has TV and en-suite facilities, If you are a couple who wish complete privacy, we could provide you with a separate self-contained apartment. Must be non-smoker and we find that feeding vegans is difficult. Please note. If you want to practice your English, then we are your ideal hosts a...

Hi beautiful people! I’m Christine, a happy spirited former language and arts teacher working across two continents. Since I retired I work in the natural health field. I live on an urban block called The Roo‘s Pouch, where I maintain a sustainable vegetable garden and created a community of nice people living with me. I live in one of the three buildings on this sunny property which runs on rainwater harvesting. We avoid chlorine and contaminates by filtering, harmonizing and ionizing our water. So water conservation is part of life for me. The corner block is in a suburb of Maryborough. There are 3 beautiful public parks surrounding with lots of kangaroos hopping peacefully around, near to the Mary River. The historic city of Maryborough has a lot to offer and is the home town of Mary Poppins. We are only 30 min by car from the ocean in Hervey Bay with wale watching when in season. Hervey Bay is at the doorsteps of Fraser Island/K’Gari. I offer for single or couple a bedroom wit...

Hi, I’m Annie :) Thanks for stopping by! Looking for help *** from now through February/ March , 1 wk - 10 days work for a couple *** At the moment I'm looking for help with Spring cleaning in the house and garden work; mulching, light pruning, fertlising, tidying up garden and some indoor/ outdoor house work. Mostly this would be cleaning spider webs off gutters, garden maintenance and window/ blind cleaning, cleaning out pantry, kitchen cupboards, cleaning oven, etc. It would be useful is someone was confident with a drill and some very basic carpentry work, to hang some outdoor ornaments. I'm sorry but I can't help with 2nd Year Work Visas. I usually invite Helpers for 1 week and see how it goes. Own vehicle required. My home is in Dunsborough, part of the famous Margaret River Wine region in the South-West of Western Australia. Dunsborough is a beautiful, quiet coastal town, with great facilities. Nearby are wild oceans and awesome surf, sleepy bays, beautiful wineries and...

I would be very happy to welcome volunteer teachers who are willing to help at my school for two or three months, or even for a full semester. *I want the volunteers who work at my school to not feel like they are working. Instead, I want them to feel that they are enjoying themselves and having a holiday while staying with us. Their room is fully equipped with air conditioning, hot showers, and a spacious private room that is separate from the main house, so they can feel comfortable and relaxed during their stay.* My name is Edison I have a wife, her name is Nofi. I also have two children, Ochta (32 years old) and Fadlil (12 years old). Ochta can speak English. I run a private English school for children between the ages of 7 and 19 in the small town of Batusangkar, West Sumatra. My goal as the principal of the school is to provide youth from my region with the English skills required to communicate better in the modern world, and therefore provide them with better opportunities ...

We are a small organic olive farm, not yet in commercial production and animal refuge. We practice permaculture and the olives are part of a `forest garden` which also includes 200 cork oaks, carob and other trees and shrubs. We also have a vegetable garden and fruit trees . Our rescued animals include dogs, cats, a house pig, donkeys, a goat, ducks, rescue rabbits and worms!. Living in a Mediterranean climate we practice several different methods of water recycling and have a biological swimming pool. Help is required with all aspects of a compassionate, sustainable lifestyle. Meals are vegan, wine is served with the evening meal and we are non smoking. Current projects are forestry care, garden management - watering & weed/feed for animals, animal care, plus all the everyday tasks that are part of everyday communal sustainable living. The olive harvest is late October. Normally up to 4 helpers are here at a time, living as part of a family style community. We ask a minimum commitment...

I'm on the lookout for a strong male (or two), or a couple, for a few weeks or more. (Some have stayed for much longer). I'd love to have someone, anytime from now, to help me with general garden stuff, and bits and pieces of projects. Always something new to do here. No skills is fine, just a bit of strength and willingness, but some handy-man skills would be useful too. I also would sometimes love some help with a bit of house maintenance /cleaning and brush cutting etc. I live in a beautiful silent forest valley dwelling with about an acre of garden. It's a wildlife refuge abundant with bird and wild life. It's 7-8 mins from charming Mullumbimby with it's farmers and general markets and cafe culture. Stuff for young and older 25mins, from beautiful Byron Bay and 20 from Brunswick heads, so lots of beaches and surf etc Also lots of walks. I would like someone who can speak English as there will be lots of communication involved. It's definitely best to have a car. You'll have ...

Hi, my name is Auduh. Me and my family are Bedouins who live in the Wadi Rum desert in Jordan. We have been working with tourists for years. We offer overnight stays in our traditional camp or cave and we take our guests on 4x4 Jeep tours, camel rides and hiking/climbing tours.. We have learned to speak English through working with the tourists from a young age. We love our simple life in the desert, work hard during the day and relax around the campfire at night. We offer you a free stay in my home in Wadi Rum village and will provide breakfast, lunch and dinner. You will really experience the traditional way of living in and around the desert. We will teach you traditional dance, some arabic words and show you around in the desert. You will meet the locals people, and learn about our culture, customs, and traditions.

We have good and plentiful food here, as I am a chef! Chores focus on the farm, the land, goats, projects, weeding and fence clearing. Also can include planting, landscaping and painting and work on my new pottery studio build-out, and many more, depending on your skills. Also, we have projects to get stuck into, that vary on the time of year. We can collect you from the bus stop or Kerikeri Airport. We usually have other young helpers also.. ** Note: We do Farm Stay also, that is like Air BNB for people who want to get out of the town and experience a NZ farm lifestyle. Thanks Julia

A chance to enjoy the beautiful Outer Hebrides! Our house in Sollas, on the northwest coast of North Uist, has plenty of room and is the ideal base for you to explore the islands. Minutes from the beach, moorlands and lochs, we have lots of wonderful places to discover. You will have your own room, WiFi and a bicycle if you need. All food included. Help needed with light cleaning duties, some gardening and grass cutting, collecting shopping from the store (10 minute walk) and food preparation. It won't be more than 20 hours a week and it's completely flexible, you can enjoy everything the islands have to offer in your free-time. We have some sheep who pretty much take care of themselves, grazing on the croft. You can hopefully see most of what you need to know from the photos. The house is two storeys and has five bedrooms. The only person living there full-time is our grandmother and she just uses the downstairs. Family visit at holidays and some weekends. Our Granny can teach you Gae...

I can pick you up in Linkwater which is our closest town although its only a Pub and a petrol station but its on the main Queen Charlotte road half way between Picton and Havelock. If you are finishing the Queen Charlotte track we can pick you up from linkwater. Itis a beautiful place to spend a week or so. We have 4 free range chickens and a very friendly dog. We are organic gardeners with 20 plus y...
