Our hostel situated in the heart of Vegueta in Las Palmas’s old city, close to the university. Summer update I may still need help towards the end of August and into September. I am still in the process of selling the house so need help as I declutter and get ready to move. I will need help in the grounds. Some repairs and general upkeep and maintenance jobs, clearing paths, fighting the undergrowth, tending plants and watering. Outdoor work includes keeping the gardens tidy, cutting and trimming of trees and mowing the lawn. Also the helper must be able to lift and haul fireplace wood and (ideally) know the use of a chain saw but not necessary. All these tasks we do together. Further work includes simple window washing, exterior window and door painting. Saturday house cleaning, gardening, pool cleaning, ironing sheets for the rentals, etc. We are chefs from New York City so we offer great food and comfortable accommodation though we do not do cooking classes to our helpx friends. SUNSHINE COAST - HINTERLAND - At present, we are seeking helpers for a 4 week stay during August.- Accommodation is a self-contained studio which includes kitchen, en-suite and wi-fi. Guests help with house and garden for 12 hours per week per guest. The help roster is Monday to Thursday - in summer from 6am to 9am and in winter 7am to 10am. We are in Dégagnac, between Cahors (capital town of the Lot) and Sarlat in the Dordogne and have 5 gîtes (small houses for rent) and we do chambre d`hôtes (B&B) and table d`hôtes (dinner); we have a swimming pool and a tennis court, a vegetable garden, garden with fruit trees, a walnut grove, meadows and forest, all of which have to be maintained. We are looking for a motivated volunteer (or a couple) to join our small sled dog company from end September onwards, ideally for a minimum of one month. A longer stay throughout autumn and winter would be a real advantage, and if we are a good match, we would be happy to continue the collaboration. This opportunity is probably not for everyone.
