Sorry folks, but apart from a 2 week slot from 1st Sept - 15th Sept (for wine making), we are now fully booked until the beginning of April 2027. There may be a cancellation, but these are very rare, but if you are in the area, reach out, we love to chat :) As well as the normal homesteading tasks, if you want to learn about wine making, bee keeping, jewellery making, or help Tony with his self defense book and video courses, we could be a great match. Have a think, take a look at our reviews and if you are interested, drop us a line, *** Our beautiful countryside homestead (only 5 acres so not really a farm) is in the mountainous hills above the historic castle town of Caccamo, Sicily. It is surrounded scraggy mountains and long valley walks. It is perfect for hiking or just relaxing in the sun with a good book. Within easy traveling distance for those interested in exploring this culturally rich island, is the seaside town of Cefalù or even the main capital city of Palermo, bot...

We welcome volunteers in our countryside home in Sicily where they can be part of a community of travellers and make a difference in the lives of the dogs in our care - by helping to clean their enclosures, give them food and water, take them on walks, and provide as much individualized attention as possible. Our NGO, with the help of a passionate community of volunteers, strives to cure and find loving homes for the many strays in our area. Activities: We ask for help in taking care of the dogs in our shelter - clean their enclosures, give them food and water, take them on walks, and play and cuddle with them. We might also need help with general maintenance on the property and enclosures at times and with general housekeeping activities. The occasional general maintenance would include tasks such as mending fences and maintaining dog enclosures. We might also ask for help with yard work. Picking up branches, clearing brush and debris, etc. We welcome any talent you may have to offer...

We're a small family farm on four sweet acres surrounded by vineyards an hour north of San Francisco. Although family, friends and neighbors stop by frequently, it’s my husband Ted, our husky dog Clara and I who live and work at the property as a labor of love. We traveled a lot when we were younger and now we feel fortunate to experience so many different cultures through the globetrotters who find their way to our door. We look forward to hosting people who appreciate simple things: the sun, the soil, jumping in the pool after work and cooking with new friends in an outdoor kitchen surrounded by vegetables. Please be willing to get down and dirty helping us with (depending on the season) any of the following: fixing irrigation, harvesting veggies, pulling weeds, painting, planting, spreading mulch, transplanting trees, building and repairing fences, pruning grapes, drying and preserving fruits and vegetables, making wine, mowing the grass, building rock walls and yes, shoveling sh...

We are Nuria and Marc, and we run an ecotourism accommodation that we have rebuilt ourselves with great effort and enthusiasm in an isolated natural setting, in the Montsec de Rubies, Pre-Pyrenees of Lleida, Catalonia. We live in a sustainable, self-sufficient house, powered by photovoltaic panels that provide all the electricity we consume, and a double-combustion wood boiler for hot water and heating. We cultivate an organic vegetable garden and take care of our chickens, sheep, and donkeys. We make the most of everything nature provides: herbs, mushrooms, and more. ### Typical volunteer tasks: #### Outdoor work • Maintaining the vegetable garden: o Sowing, planting o Weeding o Harvesting fruits and vegetables • Feeding the animals and cleaning the coop (chickens, sheep) • Collecting and chopping firewood for heating #### Housework • Helping with room cleaning when needed • Assisting in the kitchen: loading the dishwasher, cleaning, and organizing...

This project has been an idea I’ve had since I was a child. I grew up in a mixed environment: on one hand, at my grandmother’s house, surrounded by agricultural and artisanal activities, deeply connected to the traditions and customs of the Canary Islands; and on the other hand, in a home with my parents, who, like many Canarians, decided to dedicate themselves to the restaurant and tourism sectors. I was always fascinated by the lifestyle my grandparents lived, where my grandfather would bring goat’s milk and my grandmother would make cheese, jams, and traditional Canary Island dishes with a Cuban influence, as my great-grandmother emigrated to Cuba, where my grandmother was born. She returned to the islands at the age of 15. While renovating my great-grandmother’s house, I found letters she wrote during her time in Cuba, sent to her mother (my great-great-grandmother), in which she described the hardships Canarians faced, being treated as "third-class Spaniards." However, they held ...

We are in the process of renovating an old house in the Pyrenees. There is only decorating to do such as stripping paint of walls and woodwork, and repainting. There might be the occasional carpentry to do also, nothing too complicated. We need help 5 hours per day, five days per week. Weeding, pruning trees, making paths. We are looking for help from two strong and healthy individuals to assist with a house redecorating project and gardening, trimming trees, path making etc. This requires physical strength and stamina. PLEASE NOTE WELL: we absolutely cannot host anyone with any pre-existing health issues, physical or mental (we are not medically trained to manage such conditions), such as hay fever, any other allergies, sensitivities or intolerances. We live in a small village with some shops and a climbing centre and a river just opposite the house. We have a quite a size garden where we grow vegetables, fruit bushes and trees. Here, we have spectacular mountain views on our do...

With its vibrant cultural scene, world-class museums, historic landmarks, countless cafés, parks, and excellent public transport, Berlin is the perfect place to experience urban life while enjoying a welcoming home environment. I would kindly ask you to help with painting, fencing, gardening, sweeping leaves, cleaning and maintaining the house, as well as feeding and caring for the animals. If you enjoy cooking in a holistic and nutritious way, you are more than welcome to do so. I am always happy to share my knowledge about healthy food and learn from others as well. I am not just looking for someone to help with daily tasks—I would like to offer a meaningful cultural exchange and create a positive experience together. If you are interested in me...

This is a mountain hut immersed in Italy's largest protected park, at 1300 meters, in a forest on Mount Pollino. Managed by an official guide of the park, we organize excursions, canyoning, hiking, climbing and horseback riding throughout the park. The refuge consists of five rooms (with bathrooms) for a total of twenty beds. Kitchen and dining room in common. Helpers sleep in a room that they share together. In spring, summer and autumn volunteers are welcome to take good care of the refuge. Cooking, fixing the roof, gathering mushroom, cutting wood or making guests practice their english :) In winter... write me if you like snow!

Townsville is a tourist hub, with access to beach, mountains, reef, rainforest and bush. Cranbrook is a leafy suburb across the river from the university, close to Riverway (free freshwater swimming lagoon, with art gallery) and shops, and on the bus route. There are large trees around my house, and there is always gardening or raking to do. My mother lives in a house 3 minutes away, and I help her with her garden. Accommodation is a granny flat with a powder room attached. There is a fold out double couch, plus a single bed mattress if required. You will share the bathroom and kitchen - in exchange for gardening, maintenance, painting, cooking or housework. Must love dogs - my dogs like to oversee human pursuits like digging, weeding and walking. I can assist with transport to local hiking spots, beach, or parks, or can pick you up from train or bus station. Prefer helpers who are non-smokers with family-friendly values, and able to work unsupervised when I go out. Also, To...

Hello kind stranger! Our names are Claire and Michiel, we're a young Franco-Belgian family living on an old farmstead near the coast of Wissant, North of France. For 8 years now we are bringing the old farmhouses back to life, while also bringing up our two daughters: Fleur (5 yo) and Perle (3 yo). We've been hosts since 2021 and we love the life that a group of volunteers brings to our place. Making you discover French culture, nature and the sea helps us to enjoy it even more ourselves. Teaching French and picking up on your languages widens our world view and helps our kids to be future globetrotters - like you! The different nationalities we're welcoming make us feel like travelling the world while staying at home. Every day we're hosting, it widens our horizon and gives us love, laughter and friendship. So far we've made an old stable into our home, we've renovated a 'longère' (long farmbuilding) into a woodworker's workshop, our workshop and office space, we've landscaped the c...

Hello, I live in the beautiful Charente region 16140, and am looking for help with all sorts of jobs, from feeding the donkeys and other animals to painting and helping in the garden 😊 I am slowly bringing this lovely old château back to life after being empty and abandoned for many years. I enjoy growing my own organic vegetables and looking after my animals. I recently planted an orchard and have lots of other projects I'd love your help with. In the past I've shared some wonderful times with helpers, many of whom remain friends and have visited several times. In return I offer a comfortable bedroom in the chateau with 3 meals a day, and cooked as much as possible with our fresh produce. I would like your help for 5 hours a day with weekends off. There is lots to explore like little villages and towns and the river. The coast is about an hour's drive away. The Charente river is at the bottom of the garden and there are some lovely walks right outside the door, there are also b...

We are a family of two parents and four children aged 11, 9, 4 and 2. We live on a one hectare homestead in the very south of Sweden. We welcome people to come join us in our quest to live a life of modern rural self-sufficiency. Our main areas of work are gardening and lumberwork. We grow a lot of fruit and vegetables, mostly for ourselves but on a small scale for sale to friends and neighbours. We also have a small saw mill on which we produce lumber and firewood. The work we provide is very varied, from simple things like mowing the lawn and chopping firewood to more complex tasks like grafting fruit trees and sawing lumber. As a volunteer you may choose to do what you are most interested in or most interested in learning more about. We live in the region of Blekinge, known as the garden of Sweden. Our part of western Blekinge has a lot of fruit and vegetable farms and is especially known for its strawberry producers. We live in a "middle land" between fields and forests. In one...

My farm, located near Kaniva, is a commercial agricultural enterprise in the Wimmera region of western Victoria (midway between Melbourne and Adelaide). It has been owned by my family for more than 130 years. In 2006 I purchased the major portion of the productive land from the family Estate, and now annually crops nearly 425ha to spring wheat, barley, oats, field beans and canola. I am fully responsible for the management and on-going development of the farm, with a "share-farmer" undertaking many of the farm labour components. I do not have enough work to keep you busy long-term, but I certainly have enough for 3-5 days. The deal I am offering is that you help me with general farm chores (e.g. burning up heaps of branches, some fencing repairs, cleaning up branches under trees, caring for my lawns and garden, cutting up firewood, planting farm trees, etc) and I provide free meals and accommodation and a modest hourly payment. Depending on the day/weather we would work for 4-5 ho...

Hi! I'm Tonje and I moved to my farm in 2020. And there's always a lot to do here. This small farm is in a very small town, by the fjord in Hardanger. Its a good place for hiking and culture. The area is quiet and scenic. The closest cities are Odda and Bergen. The bosses of the house are 4 dogs and 3 cats. Right now I don't have any farm animals of my own. But the neighbor's sheep live here too. I would have been very grateful for various help on my small farm. The work can be very varied. But I need help with maintenance of the outdoor area, wood working, chopping firewood and snow shoveling. I also have an airbnb, so cleaning, organize and tidying jobs are also tasks that I may need help with. Help are appreciated a lot. For your help, I can offer beautiful scenery, food and a private bedroom.

Hi we need help from early sept onwards . Looking for helpers wanting to stay 2 or 3 weeks or possibly longer but we will consider shorter stays so do get in touch! Also looking for helpers wanting longer term if we are a good fit. Someone with housekeeping experience is best for us but really anyone who is happy to help and likes cleaning 🙃 We are a family of 4, myself and my hubby and our two young daughters. We need daily help with housekeeping, cleaning and some occasional gardening (with me or my hubby so no gardening experience needed). Generally after a girl helper as our kids are more comfortable with that. Someone who is able to muck in with whatever we need and likes cleaning!! WELCOME TO PARADISE GLENORCHY! We are a busy couple working full time and needing help with our property. Based in the spot chosen by the original settling family in the area, we have a really well established garden that needs taming and some quirky buildings that need some TLC. Looking for hardy gardeners, handy DIYers and folks who are keen to just generally get stuck in. We have a great retro caravan, sleep out, outdoor kitchen and bathroom set up that's screaming out for someone, two friends or a couple to bring it to life. At this stage we a only provide breakfast, but could do lunch in some situations. We have heaps of freezer space and suggest you stock up on a few dinners, and drinks in Queenstown before you get here as the local shops are a bit pricey. Spark phone signal is limited to the end of the drive, OneNz works just fine. - free internet available. We recommend helpers have there own wheels, as we're 5km outside of Glenorchy. There is however a bike you can use if ...

We are a cultural and arts community that is working towards being self-sustained. The community is situated in the mountains of Monchique, Portugal surrounded by nature. Our community provides an alternative way of living with permaculture gardens, farm animals, sustainability projects, and arts and cultural workshops. It is a great place to come to meet other like-minded people if you are passionate about sustainability and alternative living. We hold community meetings throughout the week alongside activities and workshops, such as quiz nights, dance nights and yoga classes. If you have something you are passionate about and want to share with others, we would love for you to run a workshop. One of the best things here is the variety of tasks you can do as a volunteer, which gives you the opportunity to learn new skills and discover what you enjoy doing most. We live on a 5 acre hobby farm in the beautiful Huon Valley, Southern Tasmania. Our family consists of three young adult children (two live at home), two horses, many chickens, ducks, geese, goats and two gorgeous dogs. We grow organic vegetables and breed heritage chickens in an attempt to be more sustainable. Jobs involve general gardening, helping with the animals and housekeeping. If you would like a Tassie small farm experience message us with some details of the work you have previously done. We have separate accommodation, with a bathroom. All our HelpXers have loved working and living with us and I hope you will too (please remember Tassie is a cold place in winter). There are many areas of natural beauty in Southern Tasmania which are all fairly close to us. For example, the Hartz mountains, Hastings Caves and the Tahune Airwalk. We live close to a sleepy village called Cygnet and Hobart is only a 40min drive away. (Unfortunately we can't approve 2nd year visas)

I'm Jun Liang, 61 years old. I grew up in rural old China with my gifted grandparents who were both healers and farmers. I moved to the US in 2005 with my US-born husband. We both have many years of organic farming experience. We bought an old abandoned farm in Midcoast Maine in 2020 and have worked every day since bringing it back to life. We built completely new infrastructure (there was nothing here except a 200 year old timber frame barn that we're restoring and turning into a beautiful barn house) and did all of it ourselves - installing power and internet, building a 30' X 72' solar and wood-heated greenhouse, sawing lumber from on-farm white pine for making a cabin for helpers, constructing a small barn for our Jerseys, and building a large workshop with apartment above for ourselves. Our vision is to develop this place as a community farm to include one or more full time co-farmers, visiting work exchange helpers and occasional vacation guests. We start work at 7, have b...

We are a family run home, perfect for the 1st time volunteer. Natural horsemanship is a real factor here if you want to learn more. Our mentors being Buck Brannaman, Steve Halfpenny and Ken Falkner. A safe environment for your 1st time away from home. You do not need any knowledge of horses but you do need to love dogs, they are a major part of the family and are constantly with us all 8 of them, dalmations, vizslas and 2 weimararners, and they do jump all over you. Constant appaloosas is a small holding where we breed and train horses for ourselves and occasionally others. We have help exchange programs running throughout the year for interested students of all ages. Vet students get a really good grounding here. What we expect from you, conduct yourself in an open and friendly manner, engage in all aspects of life on the farm and seize all opportunities with enthusiasm, avoid rude and disrespectful behaviour to people horses and dogs. Basically show respect to people and our home,...

We are a Portuguese couple with experience on permaculture and self-sufficient-living that in 2015 got 15ha of abundant land in a beautiful valley and an amazing community at the highest mountains inside the biggest natural park of our country. Rita is a health-food enthusiast and loves to work with different kinds of art-craft. She likes to explore Medicinal plants, Food preservation and fermentation, Hygiene products and teaching Forest School. Walking in the nature, singing with friends and doing yoga are some of the other things she enjoys. Gonçalo is a nature lover with a passion for Permaculture and Natural Farming. Studied Organic Agronomy and has been practicing it since 2008, with the help of volunteers, interns and apprentices. He enjoys sharing and to make music with friends.

We are located in the heart of Berlin, one of Europe's most exciting and diverse cities. There is plenty of space to relax and enjoy your free time. You will have your own private room, and I will provide breakfast and one warm meal each day.

Hi, We wish to invite preferable a couple or two friends who have experiences and are good at practical work. This is a very small farm. For the moment we have only three lambs, a very kind dog, two cats and 19 chickens. Leif has been a leader in the municipality and Hulda is a painter https://huldabohlin.com Here are guitars and piano, banjo and ukulele. We have a wood fired pizza oven in the old barn cellar, a sauna by the fjord, some kajaks, a rowboat and a motorboat. The surroundings are amazing with fresh, wild and exiting nature. The woods are just some meters away. Ænes valley, just behind the farm, is partially in the Folgefonn National Park. The fjord and the steep mountains are linked by a narrow cultural stripe and the headland with Ænes hamlet.

Only single helpers please we cannot take more than one person. We offer accommodation in our modern German caravan, with heating, wifi, meals (brekkie lunch items in caravan) and dinner helpers usually join us and have whatever we have as a family that evening. So sorry we can’t cater for s...

We are looking for two helpers from August 2nd for up to 6 weeks. The accommodation onsite is in our guesthouse area and fast internet is included in exchange for 2 hours of work per day, 6 days a week. This place is a former Monastery, which is now a farm and guesthouse on the Great Ocean Road. We have some lovely black alpacas, a big white fluffy dog and some gorgeous highland cattle. We can give you a very relaxing and spectacular place to live with amazing views of the ocean and surrounding landscape. Our property is between Lorne and Apollo Bay. Only 15 minutes along the Great Ocean Road to Apollo Bay. It is preferable to have your own car to get around in this area. The ocean and beach is across the road! We are looking for help with guest preparation and cleaning at our guesthouse, which sits in the middle of a farm. There may be other general grounds maintenance requirements like mowing the lawn from time to time. Check out our website for more photos and a drone video o...

We have a combination of short-term and long-term volunteers and on average we have between 10 to 20 volunteers and resident...

Hi, my husband and I live in a beautiful area on a lifestyle farm with our four young kids. We are working on setting up a sustainable lifestyle and there's always something to do! We have beef cows, a milk cow, sheep, goats, chickens, a couple dogs and a producing greenhouse. Would love some help with homesteading, ongoing projects, property maintenance, gardening, and help around the house. If you like your exercise there's a walking track to the top of our property with stunning views at the top. Swimming hole at a beautiful river 5 minutes down the road. Accommodation provided in our family home. You will have your own upstairs sleeping area and a separate toilet. Three healthy meals provided for 4 hours work. We look forward to meeting you!

We are available to host again. It is a busy time of the year here on our cattle station. Veggies are being planted, citrus fruits to pick. Pruning, feeding and mulching. Dogs need to played with and perfect weather for an evening around the fire pit. We are a working cattle farm/station located on the edge of the Australian Outback within an easy 2.5hour drive from Townsville and the Great Barrier Reef. We are located about 40minutes from the major cattle hub and historical town of Charters Towers I love to cook and grow our own food. One of my hobbies is preserving food and baking which has resulted in me starting a Small business called Darlene’s Country Kitchen. I sell my products and produce in our local town, Charters Towers. We also attend a regular Market on the 4 Sunday of every month. Helpers will be expected to feed and water chickens, ducks and geese, collect eggs, help outside in the garden and help indoors. At times helpers will be asked to assist in other jo...

Gardening, forestry We live in a small cottage on a friendly lake about 3 hours north of Toronto. We have the usual cottage toys available, canoe, small sailboat, row boat. Looking for help with selective cutting trees for firewood and lumber which we cut on our own small mill. Hopefully someone that is a better gardener than we are as we would like to start growing our own produce and maybe even get some chickens. Help with some construction and painting projects. We have some old machinery we are always trying to keep running. We are offering free accommodation and meals in exchange for help. This is a no smoking environment.
