Come experience the stunning views of Te Mata overlooking Whangarei Harbour and Bream Bay. We are looking for helpX volunteers for one or more weeks in exchange for accommodation in a spacious room in the main house, 3 delicious meals a day, and, of course, a great time. Alcohol is available at cost. If we click, long-term stays (until late May 2026) are preferred, just like several of our previous helpers who stayed with us for more than five months! The vacancy is available now. Our 12-hectare lifestyle block is located 20 minutes/km south of Whangarei (15 minutes by car to Bream Bay sandy beaches). It's an oasis of 50% native bush, rest paddocks and subtropical orchards: 60% bananas and a canopy of schizolobium, cherimoyas, papayas, mango, feijoa, and temperate fruits. Not to forget the SACRED GROVE where we worship our devoted 🕉️Religion here: Rave till sunrise PLUR Congregations🥳. If you're arriving by public transport, we can arrange a pickup in Whangarei. However, having you...

We are a nonprofit horse rehabilitation center that offers rescue, education on equine care. We need hands on to help with projects we are working on to complete as well as facility maintenance. Would love to have some energetic people that want to make a difference in horses lives here. It’s about helping these animals go from neglect to finding a forever home or live their lives in Sanctuary. You don't have to have experience we can teach you. If working hands on with horses is not your thing and you admire them there's lots of things you can still do to help them prepare for homes or help at the facility. What we are not: We are not a riding stables. We give lessons when able after all chores completed and trainer is here on certain days and during certain times of the year. So if your intention is to spend lots of time "in the saddle" we don't do that here. We aren't a "working ranch" for people to ride horses all day and move cattle, ride trails, etc. We are not a fancy stab...

We could do with a bit of help for a week working on a landscape/biodiversity project that we are currently doing. Preferably someone relatively fit and strong and used to outdoor work. We have a beautiful rural coastal property between Whakatane and Opotiki in the Bay of Plenty. We overlook the Waiotahe estuary and are a few minutes walk from Bryans Beach and Ohiwa Harbour - great kayaking, swimming, walking and fishing. We would like some help particularly on outside tasks such as cutting firewood, planting trees, digging and weedeating (strimming), as well as generally helping in the garden and around the house. To get to us if you don’t have a car, there are buses to both Opotiki and Whakatane and we can pick you up and drop you off there.

My property is 10 hectares on the West Coast of the South Island, which starts at the coast with sand beach and sunsets and heads inland 1km through native wetlands and forest. Approximately 20km from Westport, 1km from Tauranga Bay! Public transport is limited? I'm a Certified Plumber and Drainlayer by trade but recently retired to work on property (next stage of life!) I have hosted many people through Couchsurfing over the years! Helpx is a new concept for me I purchased the property which is in need of a lot of work to tidy up, contouring/fencing/and planting trees etc. I'm now into planting out and setting up orchard also clearing introduced plants and replanting with natives. Current projects are building a new cottage for myself which is at the internal painting stage! and similar 2-bedroom cottage as a guest house which is at the internal lining and painting stage! both will be total off grid power and water supply. Next on the list is building a hot house and shade house I'...

Hello everyone! My name is Bird, I was working in Chiang-Mai as a photographer for 2 years then decided to become a farmer and create a Thai traditional agriculture permaculture farm in 2018. I wish to create a relaxing place that allows people from all over the world to take their time to experience life in harmony with nature. I also have four water buffalo on our farm, named Tony, Laura, Hanna and Charlie. We are a local family with a desire to preserve our simple, sustainable way of life so that we can give back to and protect mother earth. Our farm is located in Pua city, 70km north of Nan province surrounded by the mountains and rice fields, in Northern Thailand. The farm is set on 1.5 acres of land with vegetable gardens, rice paddies, farm stay and pizza restaurant. Currently, we have done with natural buildings on the farm, including bamboo huts, fences, and wooden houses. “Life is better with a Buffalo” is our farm goal and “Happiness only real when shared “ is our motto. We are the best of friends who live together and run a 24-hour restaurant in Oneonta, New York. We built our Deli with our own hands, using old rustic barn wood and other recycled materials. We love working together to serve good, wholesome food in a warm, encouraging environment — a haven from the storms of life. Our community is part of a worldwide network of communities, many of which also run restaurants, organic farms, and cottage industries where volunteers are also welcome to live and work with us. We all work together in our houses and at our Deli. There is a lot to do in maintaining a community. We have two large houses where we live and the Deli always needs constant care and attention. We enjoy having guests and volunteers who want to get to know us by living and working with us. We gather together every morning (at 7am) and evening (at 6pm) to express whatever is on our hearts. We sing a wide variety of songs we've written and we dance there to express our joy. We give...

LOOKING FOR HELPERS NOW. In return for 4 hours help a day I offer you accommodation and all meals in a sunny, warm home where you will have your own bedroom (queen size bed) and own bathroom with the added privacy of being in a separate wing of my house. My sunny home sits atop a hill from which you will have a magnificent view of the township of Blenheim to Cook Strait and the hills of the North Island beyond. Of course if you would prefer to work a full day in order to have a day off in which you could explore the nearby Marlborough Sounds, cycle the wine trails, or walk or climb on any of the formed tracks in this area, that would be just fine. My 40 ha property is a sheep/beef farm most of which is leased. I tend a large garden and care for the drive and tracks, drainage and irrigation and deal with fallen trees. It is situated in the midst of vineyards in the Brancott Valley 13km from Blenheim (pop 30,000) which contests the annual sunshine record every year. Most of the wor...

ABOUT THE SPACE: My family lives on four acres in the beautiful Animas Valley outside Durango. The altitude is 6,900ft and the land was previously used for livestock. Our goal is to have a permaculture homestead and food forest. We have 2 young kids so our time spent on the land has been limited that last few years. We have 2 hoop houses and one large garden space being transformed into a food forest (slowly). We work full time and have 2 kids so we have limited time to carry out our dream of permaculture homestead. That is why we are seeking you! 1 or 2 people who are fine working independently, love the outdoors, kid friendly and up for learning along with us. Our main project for are: 1. Garden Maintenance (weeding, water, planting, building soil) 2. Rebuilding the chicken coop and getting chickens on the property again. (Hopefully goats again soon!) 3. Maintain hop house 4. Irrigation system 4. Planting seeds 4. Potential other projects: pond, expanding garden, building a gazeebo,...

I am an aquatic ecologist who has fortunately been working out of our coastal rain-forest property for 35 years. Driven by strong curiosity, I have recently been developing long-term data sets on the animal life in the forest that surrounds our home, plus on tropical marine fish that are steadily increasing in numbers under the influence of climate change at the nearby very beautiful Seal Rocks area (for details click on my website link below). We have 20 acres with 2 acres cleared and the remainder moist tall forest and rainforest. It is on the coast 3 hrs drive north of Sydney (1.5km from Smiths Lake; 30km south of Forster) See my blog link below to glimpse the accommodation, typical work and fun. We have a 180 squ m vegetable garden at times needing attention which has been enclosed to keep out our friends the wallabies (pademelons), possums, parrots and native bush turkeys. Bush regeneration is another activity as well as assisting in ecological surveys of local rivers when t...

We are the proud owners of a Hotel and Holiday Park in the heart of Otago. This 2.7-hectare property is partially landscaped, but as we are in a development phase, it still requires more finishing and general upkeep. We have some painting and general garden maintenance as well as hotel housekeeping, such as making beds and cleaning. If you are a couple, you can share the different jobs between you. We will provide and cook all your yummy meals. You will have your own bedroom and shared Hotel/Camp bathrooms. We also have unlimited WIFI. If you can put a strong back into our jobs for 4 1/2 hours a day in exchange, we would be very happy. The Clutha Gold Cycle Trail runs through Beaumont and is a busy track. The Hotel is situated along the banks of the Clutha River, which has all year-round fishing. Beaumont is situated on State Highway 8 on the West side of the Beaumont Bridge and is halfway between Dunedin and Central Otago. We leased the Hotel and Holiday Park for 5 1/2 years and...

I AM A VOLUNTEER NEEDING VOLUNTEERS Since my retirement (when 65) I have been running this Animal Rescue Farm as a volunteer — caring for animals and developing this land has become my passion over the past 12 years. I’m looking for friendly, motivated Volunteers to join me, especially during Spring when lots of ducklings arrive! (well not just ducklings .. all sorts) I have been leasing part of this beautiful property from the Western Bay of Plenty District Council and have been working on creating a large Native Walkway for the public, and an island where the rescue Turtles are so there’s plenty to do and lots to learn. What You’ll Do (About 4 hrs a day – 7 days a week) Because the animals need feeding every single day, I ask helpers for around 4 hours of help daily, 7 days a week. However, I’m very flexible—we can eas...

Hello Everyone, We've been hosting through helpx for over 10 years. We enjoy learning about cultures and people from all over the world. We have the pleasure of living on 350+ acres of natural bush country in Brooweena, Queensland. We have converted a bus to a tiny home, and we are currently building a shipping container home, this is a priority and would love people to help. We also grow a lot of our own food and have fruit trees. We are 100% off-grid with all our electricity from solar and tanks, dam, and rain for water. We have a friendly dog who loves to play. Our goal is to be as self-sufficient as possible, improve the soil, and regenerate the land to a healthy ecosystem. We use Permaculture Design methods. This means we don't use any chemical sprays, artificial fertilizer or mono-cropping on our land and live the values of Earth Care, People Care and Fair Share. It's a very exciting time for us to be embarking on our farming adventure, and we would like to share this t...

Hello! We are a family of one mum and 3 kids (10, 16, 17). We homeschool and live on a hobby farm where we raise our own cows and grow organic veges. Our home is off the grid but with all the modern convinces. We would love your help to tidy up our mini farm. Lawn mowing, wiper snipping, weeding, mulching, stacking firewood, help in the vege garden. Also being a part of the general household management - helping with meals and dishes alongside the teenagers. You will have your own caravan to sleep in but can hang out in the house during the day. We have bikes for enjoying the local countryside. Our area has beautiful beaches, rainforest, pretty countryside, stunning national parks and a historical seaside village. We love getting out exploring and learning in our local area.

Hi, my name is Mary. I live on the border of NSW and Victoria, a town called Albury. There is a train service to Albury from Sydney about 9 hours and Melbourne about 5 hours train trip. I am happy to pick someone from the Albury railway station. Albury is a pretty town on the Hume Highway., it is inland on the Murray River and there are a lot of local attractions, vineyards, historical small towns, snow fields and many more, only a few hours drive. I am located in town, with the railway station and the airport not too far, about 15minutes drive. I am fully vaccinated and require the same of a helper.I only take Non-smokers( meaning you do not smoke at all, outside as well.) Currently I am asking for 2.5hrs a day for board only. You can cook for yourselves, buy supplies locally and after cooking clean your area. I would like help with the garden and other general duties around the house.,such as cleaning. If you are travelling this way, either going to Melbourne or locally and can hel...

EARLY SUMMER - December 2025 AVAILABILITY We have found helpers until the first week of the New Year. We could use help from around 15 January for about two weeks. Helpers looking for a farm stay that is both peaceful and busy are encoraged to enquire.. LOCATION We are in Taranaki directly overlooking the Tasman Sea, a nearby beach with surf breaks to the southwest. Many travelers come here from Tongariro, Hobitton, or the Bay of Plenty on their way to Wellington and the South Island. SHORT DESCRIPTION, CURRENT PRIORITIES. Lawn mowing is a priority for mulching gardens, building soil and retaining moisture during dry summer periods. Chain saw operation and tidy up of shelter areas provides an opportunity for summer cover crops to establish. Summer crops are mostly planted and require tending with pumpkins, biofumigant flowers and summer cover crops soon to germinate or be planted. Citrus harvest is nearly completion; fruit tree pruning and thinning is overdue. Tending and harvesti...

Our farm is in the mountains of Lares, a rural region in the center of the Caribbean Island of Puerto Rico. A town well known for the rebellion insurgency called "El Grito de Lares", also well known for the coffee plantations and the culinary festivities. Lares has great rivers, beautiful sceneries and nice climate. In this great countryside we manage an agricultural, educational and community project, Proyecto Agroecológico Campesino/PAC. Our mission has been to produce food in a sustainable way, facilitate a practical learning farm for students and share knowledge with the community. For this we work in the transformation of two acres, in an integral farm where combines crop production, animal husbandry, resource management, restoration of soil and ecosystems, inspired by the agroecological principles. We invite you to join us on our every day activities to build a sustainable farm and to share knowledge and experiences. The accommodation includes a private room with kitchen, bat...

My husband Matthias and I, Johanna, came from Germany as backpackers in the 1980s. We met here in NZ, but our home language is German. We are a family with eight children, three of them married, and five grandchildren. Three of our children are living at home (1 of them home-schooling, 2 working). Our oldest son with his wife and 4 young boys has moved back to our property two years ago, - now living in our cottage; another son with his wife and baby has moved into a smaller house on our property. And a friend lives in our housetruck. So life is happening to the full! Sadly, my husband passed away in January 2024 after a short time of intense illness. We miss him much! Our lifestyle block is home to a gaggle of geese, a flock of domestic ducks, around 40 chickens, some sheep and sometimes a few young male goats, - and of course many wild birds, rabbits and the tiny creatures of fields, woods and duck-pond. An old apple, apricot and peach orchard and a young walnut grove are also part...

Beautiful 56 acre mountainous property, completely off grid with a small hardwood house /cottage that I have built using milled wood from trees on the property , with lovely views everywhere . Also doing a lot work to improve the land and infrastructure. There are over 4 kilometers of walking trails through gorgeous forest, on this completely vegan property, with mountainous views all over ranging from 150 to 230 meters above sea level. The beautiful forest trails have old growth national park like forest at the very top. Lots of wildlife to see , with all kinds of exotic birds , including families of black cockatoo’s which live here in the pine’s, and beautiful little kingfisher birds, yellow robins, willy wagtails and kookaburras to name a few. We have recently found koalas living on the property in the flooded gum trees, with many wallabies and goanna’s are everywhere in summer ! Lots of lovely contemplative spots to sit /relax , meditate or just ponder the world ....

Hello travelers! 3 hours work a day for a nights stay. I'm happy to be flexible. Providing your own food and cooking your own meals OR if you’d like to cook the nightly meal for the whole family us and you then your welcome to use our food. Meat, goats milk, eggs, some greens come off this farm. Some years ago we ran a farm up the road from a commercial orchard west of Hobart that got 3000 pickers in each season, I often gave lifts to the backpackers on their way to the orchard on my way home from town. I really enjoyed meeting so many different people from all over the world!. It was a backpacker I gave a lift to that told me about HelpX :) We are a small family running our organic farm by the river. Myself and my two beautiful children my teenage Son and my little Daughter. We have large dogs & tiny dogs, rabbits, chickens, ducks, goats, cows, all our friendly animals love to come up to you to say G'day and get a pat. Autonomy for everyone, especially for you and us at mealtime ... Resources are shared according to the availability of the moment. More possibilities if my children are not there, less if I have other guests ... fortuitous ... In the meantime we have no shortage of space in the garden to let you plant your tent or you lend a space... This is the minimum we can guarantee. A cabin is also available on the family sailboat ... Here too, there is work ... The room with double bed of the house is not often free for our helper sometimes the chance does things well, ask what you want, we are in French Polynesia climate is stable all year ;-) We will not ask for more than 2 or 3 hours of help a day in exchange we plan to lodge without food, although fruits from the garden are still part of the tradition of sharing the house... It's up to you to do your shopping and your dish washing and cleaning up after, the load will be in our situation not equitable otherwise.

Current projects are building a new cottage for myself which is at the internal painting stage! and similar 2-bedroom cottage as a guest house which is at the internal lining and painting stage! both will be total off grid power and water supply.

We usually do 7am to midday then off till 5.30 with a couple of animal care and kitchen duties in evening! We have baby wallabies to care for as well as baby goats! Check our Facebook page and if your interested send us a message. We prefer one or two weeks stay or longer if we all get along!

Animal Rescue Farm (Tauranga / Katikati Area in Pahoia) planted with beautiful Native trees and a Native Walkway adjacent to the sea for the Public. Kia ora!

We are looking for a couple or two friends to stay for a couple of weeks or more if agreed. We are maintaining our property for sale and we need to keep in condition. Drinking water is mountain spring water, not the r...
