We need some help with tasks like cleaning out the stable and feeding them. In addition, there are always several tasks to be done on a farm, such as repairing or building fences, felling trees, sawing wood with a chainsaw or cross-cut saw, preparing winter wood and, if necessary, gardening work such as pulling weeds. You'll be staying in a camper van/caravan parked right next to our house. You'll be able to enter the house at any time and use the bathroom and our kitchen. This is a rural cooperative of 4 farmers and over 100 consumer-members. We are manufacturing dairy products such as yoghurts, fresh cheese, milk drinks, etc, using almost only regional fruits and spices. The aim is is to prove that small size regional production can work well, both ecologically and economically. The team consists of some 8-10 mostly young local people working part time plus volunteers helping in the production, on the field or in the cowshed. A typical working day would be starting in the dairy production or on the field and you work there for 4-5 hours, with the remaining time off. We have a productive vegetable garden, fruit trees including figs and walnuts. Most help is outdoors and may include gardening, weeding firewood collecting general farm tasks. Beautiful 30 acre lifestyle block situated 25 minutes North West from Central Auckland. The closest small town is just 2kms away, and we are centrally located to many local wineries, the closest being The Hunting Lodge which is 1km away. We are looking for motivated, practical people to help with painting, gardening, house cleaning and general outdoor activities. If you have experience with horses that would be a great advantage. We have many different animals, including horses, goats and sheep. We have 2 children, one is 15 and the other is 23. Our helpers are most welcome to involve themselves with the family in outdoor activities and trips.

We are a family-run commercial mango farm, producing and drying mangoes. The work is mainly gardening drying mangoes and packing dried fruit and sometime we dry pineapple and dry banana, cleaning and cooking. Accommodation in our home and we will supply all meals and free Wifi is available. Meat based mixed diet shared with hosts. Smoking outside only we are located 1hr from Cairns We eat together in a family atmosphere and all help with cooking and washing the dishes. I am an aquatic ecologist who has fortunately been working out of our coastal rain-forest property for 35 years. Driven by strong curiosity, I have recently been developing long-term data sets on the animal life in the forest that surrounds our home, plus on tropical marine fish that are steadily increasing in numbers under the influence of climate change at the nearby very beautiful Seal Rocks area (for details click on my website link below).
