We could do with a bit of help for a week working on a landscape/biodiversity project that we are currently doing. Preferably someone relatively fit and strong and used to outdoor work. We have a beautiful rural coastal property between Whakatane and Opotiki in the Bay of Plenty. We overlook the Waiotahe estuary and are a few minutes walk from Bryans Beach and Ohiwa Harbour - great kayaking, swimming, walking and fishing. We would like some help particularly on outside tasks such as cutting firewood, planting trees, digging and weedeating (strimming), as well as generally helping in the garden and around the house. To get to us if you don’t have a car, there are buses to both Opotiki and Whakatane and we can pick you up and drop you off there.

We are a fit and active couple in our 70s who have recently bought a home (2021) right by the water on Lamb Island in Moreton Bay, 30km from Brisbane. It has great views over the bay and has good access to fishing, crabbing, safe swimming and boating. There is a fast and regular ferry to the mainland that takes 20 minutes. There are also several other islands nearby that can be explored including North Stradbroke Island that has wonderful beaches and walks and lots of wildlife including koalas, kangaroos, turtles and dolphin and - from June to October - humpback whales. Over the next two years we will renovate and paint the home, install new kitchen and two bathrooms. Graham has some woodworking skill but needs help during that time with various tasks and we are willing to give you a comfortable bed, good food and company and access to bathroom and washing machine in exchange for 4 hours help per day, 5 days per week. Our preference is for a single person or couple who have some skil...

I am an aquatic ecologist who has fortunately been working out of our coastal rain-forest property for 35 years. Driven by strong curiosity, I have recently been developing long-term data sets on the animal life in the forest that surrounds our home, plus on tropical marine fish that are steadily increasing in numbers under the influence of climate change at the nearby very beautiful Seal Rocks area (for details click on my website link below). We have 20 acres with 2 acres cleared and the remainder moist tall forest and rainforest. It is on the coast 3 hrs drive north of Sydney (1.5km from Smiths Lake; 30km south of Forster) See my blog link below to glimpse the accommodation, typical work and fun. We have a 180 squ m vegetable garden at times needing attention which has been enclosed to keep out our friends the wallabies (pademelons), possums, parrots and native bush turkeys. Bush regeneration is another activity as well as assisting in ecological surveys of local rivers when t...

Connectedness on a farm in Portugal Are You looking for a way to live a life in harmony with nature? With natural cultivation, fruit that tastes like when you were a child... good water and clean air - the opportunity to build your "own" new home there? 💫 Maybe this is your chance. On a self-sufficient farm in Portugal, you have the chance to find out whether it could be your way to actively participate in a paradise that has already been created. Here on a farm in the center of Portugal, where there is still a lot of potential and work to be done, I have been contributing my love and energy for almost 4 years now. I am looking for appreciative fellow campaigners who not only respect what has already been created, but also continue the project together with heart and dedication. It is helpful to have 😊 a love of animals and nature, initiative and mindfulness, love - for what you do and for life. Personal responsibility and the ability to self-reflect 💫 Personal init...

We are in the process of renovating an old house in the Pyrenees. There is only decorating to do such as stripping paint of walls and woodwork, and repainting. There might be the occasional carpentry to do also, nothing too complicated. We need help 5 hours per day, five days per week. Weeding, pruning trees, making paths. We are looking for help from two strong and healthy individuals to assist with a house redecorating project and gardening, trimming trees, path making etc. This requires physical strength and stamina. Please note, we cannot host anyone with any pre existing health issues, physical or mental (we are not medically trained to manage such conditions). We live in a small village with some shops and a climbing centre and a river just opposite the house. We have a quite a size garden where we grow vegetables, fruit bushes and trees. Here, we have spectacular mountain views on our doorstep, hiking trails through the mountains and forests, cycling paths, and skiing in the...

I am old enough to be your grandfooppather, loving life and every second left of it, which is probably about ten years.  Debs is my Numero Uno accomplice in this endeavour; basically, to avoid the old folks home.  Happy on the endless holiday, we are Boomers aiming at staying Forever Young.  HelpX helps us do that and travel the world at the same time.  We get to listen to stories of your great adventure and hear about your homeland; maybe even see yr home (Utube and Google walkabouts). Although the house is a bit of a disaster (badly needs a paint job and leaks in the bathroom etc etc), the work is mainly in the garden: germinating, planting, weeding, weed-eatering, poisoning noxious plants and unwanted trees (Privet), pruning, slashing, hedge-clippering, schreddering, lawn-mowing, chainsawing, permaculturing and now SCRUBCUTTERing.  If wet, it'll be cleaning, sandpapering and painting inside.  I ask for 3 hours per day (9 to 12) [or 3 days of 4hrs gets a day off], and the odd domes...

My name is Victor and I have been teaching English to young people from my community for 8 years. I have a small school in downtown Tehuantepec near the market, banks, restaurants, and the tropical forest full of coconuts, bananas, and mangoes. Tehuantepec is located 20 minutes from the ocean beach community, Salina Cruz. I am located only a five minutes taxi ride from the local bus station. I am looking for one person at a time to come and work with my students, which includes conversing with my students and teaching if you are able to. My students need more practice talking to people who speak fluent and clear english. I ask for five or six hours a day working with my students and in return I offer a place for you to sleep and one meal a day and a tour around the city to show you my local culture. You can stay for a minimum one week and a maximum of two weeks, but we can make a deal if it works out and you want to stay longer I have lived here all my life and can introduce you...

This is a retreat for the mind, body and spirit. Located in the beautiful Smoky Mountains of Western North Carolina and surrounded by national forests and great tourist sites. Currently we have retreats for guests that include meditation, self enhancement workshops, Labyrinth walks, healing sessions and contemplative living workshops. We also provide tours, hikes and outdoor adventure. I teach classes and do life coaching. This is a very touristy area and especially in the fall with the leaves changing colors! I have done an organic farm in the past but it was hard to keep up. I would like to start again in the Spring. I love flowers and and medicinal plants and want to grow them also. I also need help with trail maintenance, cleaning, as well as painting, planting and clearing. I Need people with handyman, landscaping and farming skills to work a few hours a day.

I am looking for people that are passionate about dogs and like to spend time and work with dogs. A pack of 24 huskies is something different than having a pet dog at home. You will be able to join our animal assisted programs with kids and young adults and learn about it. I am educated in dog physiotherapy as well and there is the possibility to learn in this field as well. Beside the main topic the huskies we have bee hives and produce our own honey. There is a big garden with fruits and vegetables that needs maintainance. To sum it up our work here is mainly outdoors with nature and animals. Every day is different so its not possible to give you a long term daily structure in advance. There are some everyday tasks in the dogcare but the rest of the work depends on the weather and the season. As we live in a small village the main freetime activities are biking and hiking. More freetime options you find in cities around in your days off. Vienna is quite close and its possible to ta...

🏡 Stay in a Unique Wildlife Sanctuary near Currumbin Beach – Help with Gardening, House Projects & More I’m Deborah, and I live in a peaceful bushland home on the ridge in Elanora, on the beautiful Gold Coast (Southeast Queensland). The property is part of a koala sanctuary — wallabies regularly visit the backyard, and if you’re patient, you might spot a koala in the treetops. You’ll definitely hear them at night! Despite the natural setting, we’re only a 5-minute drive from Currumbin Beach and close to local shopping centres, bushwalks, weekend markets, and iconic surf spots. 🌿 About the Stay: I’ve recently moved back into my home and am still getting everything properly set up after a long and difficult few years dealing with insurance and rebuilding. The house is a work in progress — but a beautiful one — and helpers have always been welcome here. Sleeping arrangements currently include inflatable bedding, and there are still some basic household things being sorted out. Most gu...

We are an operating farm. Mostly silviculture. We farm mostly trees. Totally innovant permaculture site overlooking the Mt St Michel growing a world famous Salad in our productive ecosystem. This includes a small forest garden, lots of seasonal fruit/veg/herbs/nuts and some wonderful animals. There is plenty on as we endeavour to raise production levels of our delicious Salad through "agriculture with integrity" - the agriculture I always dreamed of - highly nutritious bioavailable alkalinising supergreens from a designed ecosystem - from our farm - a tool to help us review the foundation of whats on our plate - this is really exciting - come see! I will happily welcome those genuinely interested so let me know your dates and I will reserve you a room with a view or a more private little caravan with the utmost pleasure! Safe journeying to all - Zoe

🌿 Come help on our farm! We need friendly volunteers to join us with cooking, cleaning, gardening, and everyday tasks — no experience needed, just a good attitude and willingness to muck in.We are looking for helpers between the ages of 16 to 32. We are a small community of friends working towards a better life in a beautiful part of rural Devon, in the Tamar River Valley Estuary where you will make friends for life. In exchange for your friendship while you are staying here we will endeavour to teach you new skills that will carry you through life. A small farm in a beautiful location! Our farm and home probably date back to pre 1660's, with many additions since. It has been left to go wild for the last 40 years. The river has otters, seals, beavers, salmon, sea trout, and sea bass. With buzzards and owls overhead. There are deer in the surrounding woodland. The aim for our farm is to give the land back to nature and at the same time create an organic food source that we can freely ...

UPDATE: NEW VACANCIES..... Up to Dec 23rd 2025 Then January 10th (2026) onwards Horse and / or garden help welcomed. Its time to put the garden to bed for the winter, so it's a matter of clearing, tidying and a bit of pruning. I've had a series of really excellent helpers, so if you think you're in that category, especially in terms of horse skills, then please get in touch. If you'd appreciate some rural time, away from the rat race, maybe this could be for you! However, you are also welcome to join in my busy social life if you wish to. I am a retired teacher with a love of the countryside, my animals, wildlife, cycling, art, music and dancing. I live in the beautiful Lincolnshire Wolds in a tiny cottage, in the hamlet of Miningsby on the Revesby Estate. It's very rural and rather isolated. No shops within walking distance, but with pretty market towns just 10 minutes' drive away. Our nearest train station is in Boston, which can be reached via either Grantham or Peterborough. ...

Countryside, near Atlántida, Uruguay. We’re a mature couple who work in the city and live on a small farm - a peaceful retreat from the urban rush. Our companions are a few horses and dogs. Most of them came to us from the rescued shelter and in poor condition. With time, care, and patience, we’ve helped them heal. Our farm isn’t a commercial venture; it’s simply a quiet, cozy place to live close to nature. We’re looking for a reliable helper - someone who’s interested in staying with us long-term. What we offer: - Private accommodation in a converted sea container, fully equipped with a gas stove, shower, refrigerator, and other essentials. - Groceries provided - you prepare your own meals. - Free internet access (limited). We can also offer guidance and support with the residency application process for those who wish to stay long-term. If you’re over 25, love animals, enjoy farm life, and consider yourself hardworking, responsible, and adaptable - we’d be happy to welcome you. ...

Update 13 Dec 2025: We need an experienced carpenter to finish building a wooden deck with me. Starting asap. We have a separate little house 2km from our house for Helpers' accommodation in Kerikeri/Bay of Islands. It’s very cosy to live in and on the waterfront. We need help with maintenance of our property (house & garden). This includes gardening, tree-trimming, clean-up, some painting, and a project for a garden pathway incl. a wooden staircase (Carpenters, come on !!! ). Are you interested to be part of our projects? Good command of English or German required. Fishing from our pedal boat, kayaking, swimming and hiking are great as off-work activities here. In 2016 we have moved up north to Kerikeri to a 2+ acres life-style block. Since then we have built a large veggie garden (to enrich our carnivorous diet) and a chicken coop, a tiny house on wheels, a farmers garden and a solar power system. Maintenance and landscaping projects are always waiting for help. We are a couple,...

We welcome 1-2 helpxers anytime. Chores include firewood gathering, gardening, harvesting, cooking, cleaning as well as helping Tim with whatever he is up to in regard to construction, lumber organization or working on the water. The island: Haida Gwaii in the fall & winter doesn't get as cold as other parts of British Columbia, and we often have a lot of mild, beautiful sunny days. November is generally our storm season, but that is also when our surfing picks up, so if you're looking to hit the waves on your time off, fall is the time to come :) Summers are generally mild. The ocean is just a few feet from our front door, so you can often find Marg having morning coffee on the beach or enjoying our beautiful sunsets at the end of the day. We have a recreational forest/beach trail in front of our property. This is a lovely, safe convenient trail for anytime one wants to stretch their legs and take in nature. Your hosts: Tim is a certified faller and a commercial scuba diver...

If you are interested in learning about Nepalese cultures, cuisines, traditions and festivals, then a homestay is the best way to see the real Nepal. By doing this you will be introduced to a plethora of brand new experiences in an authentic Nepalese environment; rich with culture. An additional plus will be the warm and welcoming Nepalese hospitality at its best within our home. We have three members in our family: me (Shanker), my mother and our daughter (Chun Chun) who is 17 years old. My brother Pradeep runs a small money exchange office in Thamel, which is about a 20 minutes direct walk from our home. Our home is located in a very safe and peaceful residential area called Gongabu Town Planning, Gongabu. We belong to the Newar ethnic group, who are the indigenous people of Kathmandu Valley. Newari culture is historically rich and possesses many unique traditions and rituals; one of which includes marrying our daughters to the bel-tree fruit and the Sun. At the same time, you wi...

This is only the second school in Nagarkot, nice Nepalese village in Bhaktapur district; a 1.5 hrs bus ride from Kathmandu. It hopes to provide an English medium education for underprivileged children. The school has 7 staff members taking care of its 80+ students - aged from 4 to 12 years old - and would benefit from any help volunteers can provide. Volunteers can expect to as class helpers and also share teaching tips with the school if they can. Volunteers can also help beautify the classrooms murals to help the kids as visual aids during their school time. Becoming an independent class teacher is also an option for long-term volunteers as soon as they have a grasp on the school's curriculum and vision for students. Other jobs for volunteers include: - Writing class exercises and homework exercises for students (we have no printing/photocopying facilities) - Designing class quizzes and tests - Introducing interactive, educational games through which children can learn ...

Hello Helpers! I live on a small 5 acre lifestyle block, 48 km South of Auckland CBD, that is also home to one horse (Meg), two small inside dogs (Alfie and Lacey), a cat (Sylvie) and some free-range hens who happily provide eggs for our breakfast. I can offer short stays of approximately ONE WEEK only. Mature, practical-minded people with a few years life experience, a good work ethic and a good understanding of the English language are preferred. None of the jobs are difficult but you do need to be reasonably FIT and you need to be able to work independently. Non-smokers/non-vapers only please. I've had some amazing helpx helpers that have helped establish the kitchen gardens and some help is now needed on general gardens and landscaping. Depending on the time of the year, some of the tasks you may be asked to help with are: planting trees/shrubs, weeding and mulching garden beds, grubbing thistles, paddock weeds and brush-cutting (strimming/weed-eating). You will have a v...

We are situated in one of the largest Cork Tree areas in the world.Mediterranean forest ecoystems are considered one of the most important ecosystems right after Virgin Forests. We also have lots of pine trees both for lumber and also for pine nuts. Cork and pine nut trees are a very sustainable resource as their lifespan is over 200 years and they produce cork and pine nuts during that time. We pride ourselves for being an environmentally responsible farm and we enjoy teaching volunteers and visitors about what we do. We are a Forest Stewardship Council certified farm. FSC is a worldwide recognized organization that certifies socially and environmentally respectful organizations like ours, that harbour and follow, strict guidelines for workers, neighbouring populations and the environment. We are audited on a regular basis. From the agricultural antiques you may be cleaning and organizing, to working in the gardens. W...

Approximately 5 acres under cultivation. We follow all the organic standards, and above (since organic standards are constantly being downgraded by the USDA), but are not certified organic. We DO NOT use pesticides, herbicides, fungicides, "cides" of any kind, or chemical fertilizers. We also follow biodynamic & permaculture principles. Season is April through October. We appreciate 5 hours of work per day, 6 days per week. You can choose 8 am to 1 pm, or 7 am to noon. Sundays off. Visitors help with planting, transplanting, weeding, spreading hay and wood chip mulch, hauling, fertilizing, harvesting, making biodynamic preps, building and maintaining hugelkultures, clearing of brush, stacking of wood logs, roto-tilling, taking care of chickens, building fences, pathways, ponds, compost boxes, other building projects, etc. ...

We are a couple from Austria and we live since january 2014 in the middle of the Swedish nature together with around 25 Alaskan Huskies. Our farm is in the middle of now-where at the beginning of Swedish Lapland and you can expect a lot of nature, lakes, woods and a lot of wild animals like bears, lynx, moose, reindeers and many different kind of birds. You can help us with training and feeding the dogs, cleaning the kennels. In wintertime there is also help needed with snow shoveling. You should be able to speak English (B2) or German. You should also be able to work sometimes alone. There is plenty of spare time, to explore the nature and the surrounding. You should be at least 18 years old, a teamplayer, love to be outside, it is not necessary that you have knowledge about dogs or in special about sleddogs. You will get all the information from us. I am a creative person living in Mumbai (Bombay) , India, I grew up in rural and urban natural lives. Making me experience working on farms, cities and learn some things on different levels of cultures, society differences, Indian deeper roots, religious, spiritual and positivity through life. So looking at life in its best or worst way, with in its various colourful shades. For References - ask for my other volunteer site profile. My passion is film making but still I am trying to develop my spiritual understanding. Sametime in support of growing world awareness of organic life or climate changes comes as a beginning of a new era. And proud to be part of it as its time to deconstruct what we constructed just in few decades. Mumbai city is the only city in the world where the Country lives in a city i.e you will find everyone from the different parts of India living in the city of Mumbai. The city also supports some ancient spiritual caves and temples. It is active in movies, art g...
