We're a truganic, biodynamic, permaculture farm in the Catskill Mountains of New York State, two hours Northwest of NYC. 24 acres with approx. 4 acres of wetlands. We are a couple who have bought a piece of land with a house in Mallorca, and we need a hand to help us to renovate the house and take care of the garden. Andrada is just coming at weekends, but I am working there full time. The big value we expect from the volunteers is the company, due to Andrada only staying here at weekends, during the week I am alone, and to share a time with people is a big help. Also, we are people that in the past travel a lot, and we miss the cultural exchange. For daily task here are some examples, help with construction tasks, such as making cement, painting, gardening or cleaning.

Hello Potential Volunteers My name is Paul and it was my dream to change my lifestyle from being an office worker to becoming an alpaca farmer.... here we are 14 years later with 100 alpacas, each individually cherishes with names and unique personalities, plus an assortment of other animals all needing our love :) I have three children: Liam (21), Dylan (9) and Oscar (6), and our 100-acre farm is home to approx.100 alpacas, plus llamas, peacocks, hens, mini pigs, a cat named Sexy, and our farm dog Malta. This year we are expecting 20 'cria' (baby alpacas) and each one will need our help so they can thrive! We need to ensure they get colostrum (filled with antibodies and vital for good health) – have they fed from their mums within the first 24hrs? Are they then drinking enough milk from their mums every day? Are they gaining weight? The well-being of my animals is the most important thing on the farm. This is a small farming property ten minutes drive or around 30mins bike ride from the coastal town of Esperance. There is a comfortable sleep-out available or a room in the main house.The adjacent bush and wetlands provide kangaroos and birdlife for the nature lovers. Helpers may enjoy feeding the sheep and cows or other farm related tasks and there is always firewood to split for the wood stove. The 4 alpacas enjoy some attention too. Expect an international flavour as current occupants include travellers from Argentina, Italy China and New Zealand.It is important to understand that there is no public transport into Esperance, any visitors will need their own transport.
