A Calm, Welcoming Place to Live, Learn & Contribute in the old Coast Hinterland. We have a vacancy for 1 one couple, or a solo male now. Ideally with with a vehicle, there is no public transport here. 3 week minimum stay (longer stays preferred) If you’re looking for a peaceful rural place where you’re treated as a valued part of the household — not just extra labour — you may feel very at home here. We are a friendly farming couple in our 60s, and we’ve lived on this beautiful property for over 30 years. We’re about 35 minutes from the beach, on the ocean side of Mt Tamborine. We’ve been hosting helpers since 1998, and many travellers who stay with us become like family — while they’re here and long after they’ve gone. We genuinely enjoy hosting and are very grateful for the wonderful helpers we’ve met over the years. 🌱 What Life Is Like Here Life on our farm is calm, grounded and collaborative. Days are varied, meals are shared, and there’s time to breathe. You’ll be livi...

We are an operating farm. Mostly silviculture. We farm mostly trees. We are situated in one of the largest Cork Tree areas in the world.Mediterranean forest ecoystems are considered one of the most important ecosystems right after Virgin Forests. We also have lots of pine trees both for lumber and also for pine nuts. Cork and pine nut trees are a very sustainable resource as their lifespan is over 200 years and they produce cork and pine nuts during that time. We pride ourselves for being an environmentally responsible farm and we enjoy teaching volunteers and visitors about what we do. We are a Forest Stewardship Council certified farm. FSC is a worldwide recognized organization that certifies socially and environmentally respectful organizations like ours, that harbour and follow, strict guidelines for workers, neighbouring populations and the environment. We are audited on a regular basis. From the agricultural antiques you may be cleaning and organizing, to working in the gardens. W...

Hey hey HelpX'ers! 😊 I'm a 31-year-old Kiwi who has spent over five years travelling the world, visiting more than 60 countries and doing HelpX and working holidays in several of them. Those experiences were some of the highlights of my travels, so now it's my turn to return the favour and host! Our farm is a little slice of paradise. We're just 5 minutes from the beach and 5 minutes from town, but tucked away enough to enjoy peace, quiet, beautiful sunsets, and some of the best starry skies you'll ever see. I'm hoping to welcome people who value kindness, respect, good conversation, and enjoying the simple things in life. My goal is to create an easy-going environment where work gets done, but having a great experience together is just as important. The work is a relaxed mix of farm, lifestyle, and general property jobs. We have cattle, sheep, chickens, our friendly cat Molly, gardens, an orchard, and there's always something different happening, so no two days are ever the same...

We are looking for a couple or two friends to stay for a couple of weeks or more if agreed. We are maintaining our property for sale and we need to keep in condition. There is work removing trees, tidying up the garden and removing debris from the fires and recent storms. There is also cleaning work helping Cate with property management. During free time you are welcome to borrow our electric scooters and go swimming and exploring. We live in Mallacoota, one of Australia's most beautiful places on the southeast coast. It is a World Biosphere Reserve in the middle of the Croajingolong National Park next to the ocean with an estuarine lake system and many, many beaches. We are 2km from the town centre and 3km from the nearest beach. There are about seven magnificent beaches within 10km of us. Mallacoota is 540km from Melbourne, 630km from Sydney and 360km from Canberra with limited access via public transport so keep that in mind when planning your schedule. Our family includes M...

Hello. We are a family of five and our children are away at university. We live about a 35 minute drive west of central Auckland. We have a dog so you will need to be comfortable with animals. We have two rooms available. You will have access to a shared bathroom. Our home has four bedrooms, two bathrooms and a living and dining area. We are situated at a small bay on the Manukau Harbour with local walks and swimming available. We would also be happy to show you our area and help you get around when we can. Otherwise public transport goes from close to our house (it is approximately 1 hour by public transport to central Auckland city). We are a friendly family who enjoy meeting new people and would enjoy hearing about you and your travels. You will be able to do your washing and help yourself to food and be cooked for. As a family we have lots of interests and like to enjoy an evening meal together. We are hoping you would be interested in helping out with things like gar...

We would like to have some help on the farm from 15th September for doing jobs and help with the animals. We are due to calve with our 3 milking girls. Then we get another 12-18 calves to feed as well. I am looking for help for 2 weeks from September. If you are interested in the work and we are getting on well, you may be asked if you are available to stay on longer. If you don't mind working in the wet or cold outside, then I would love to hear from you. We have some general farm jobs that would be great to have a bit of help with. Some fencing, painting a barn, tidying up the vegetable garden and orchard.. If you are available and keen to help out, we would love to hear back from you. We have a small lifestyle farm with all the usual animals, cows, pigs, chickens, dogs, cats, birds, fish..... We machine milk our Jersey cows for the house milk and to feed either calves or pigs. There are just the two of us here now, sometimes we have international exchange students who go to ...

I have a house with a 0.25ha garden that is part of a larger community . We are about 10 mins drive, or an easy hitch, from Byron Bay (and all its tourist attractions); Brunswick or Mullumbimby and 2 mins from the beach. I`m always glad of help with my 1/4 ha - projects like building the vegie garden; trimming back the ever enroaching bush, or projects around the house. The arrangement is 2 hours in exchange for accommodation (14 hours a week), looking after your own food but sharing our kitchen. Gondwana, the larger community that Lotus Ponds is part of, is about 50 people with a community house and hall with weekly community dinner and meditations, yoga, table tennis & pool tables with levels of activity that depend on who is here. The people living here change more often than I update this ! But typically are inspired by some combination of Dance (5Rhythms, Open-Floor, Contact); Permaculture; Surfing; Osho; Personal Growth; Cooking; Music and Nature; in the rest of Gondwana ...

Hobbits are "little people" with big hearts and big bare feet firmly connected with mother earth. They habitually live "under the radar" of some PC embellished society and try all their best to not succumb to the madness of it. Claiming their birth right to nature's abundance, love, beauty and endless creativity they naturally make up to and make do with the lack of gold caused by the greedy child-eating dragon behind the bare stone mountains.. Hi, my name is Marianne. I live on a classic New Zealand all-day sunny "tree quarter acre of hobbit shire" looking down to Oamaru. If you arrive early enough at my kitchen window or even up on the jungle hill behind the cottage, you can see the sea and watch the sunrise. A 10 minute stroll down Eden Street gets you either to the CBD or to the shoreline. I am providing three basic meals per day as well as a comfortable and quiet room for your stay and to relax after our daily four hours of working together "out there", somewhere on some befitt...

We hope you can join us. Currently looking for keen and energetic people who can join us in making our piece of Paradise even better while you have a memorable lifetime experience that will enrich your life. We love sharing who we are and what we have to inspire others to thrive on the land while working with and amongst nature. We want to show you how to be comfortable in nature; to re-learn how to be a part of nature rather than apart from nature. We have two rooms exclusively for HelpX guests; one room with a double bed, the other with a bunk bed. You have your own bathroom and toilet. We also have our delightful Avan; a compact caravan that has a double bed and a single bed for those who want to live more out amongst nature. We have a range of projects on offer, depending upon our needs at the time and your enthusiasm, skill set, interests and desire to learn new things. Some of the options include building our bushfire resilience and working on maintaining and invigorating ou...

Hello Helpx-ers! We only do HelpX when the timing is right - right now we're open to Late October to early December 2026, or end Jan 2027 - mid Feb 2027. We prefer couples as they are company for each other in sharing this experience. Sometimes we have specific jobs we want done, other times it is taming the large wild garden, deep cleaning the house. Tell us of any handy experience you have that could help us busy family. In return: We offer experienced hosts who are used to welcoming Helpxers and my husband is an amazing cook! We enjoy sharing experiences and a glass of wine with our helpers. Living with us is our son (17yo), sometimes our adult daughter visits from interstate, and another daughter lives independently near by, multiple animals (dog, cats) and a large terraced bush garden. We have a pool and we live in a very quiet area with the Garigal National Park behind us and beside us. Although there are buses, someone with own transport is best as the buses do not run ...

We have a mixed farm on Swanpool Creek, in Swanpool (north east Victoria) with a farmhouse on the top of a hill with views of the surrounding mountains. We have a vineyard that produces award winning wine (Chardonnay and Shiraz grapes), a eucalyptus tree plantation, a large garden (as well as a veggie garden) and a small flock of Dorper sheep, an alpaca, 3 horses and some chickens. We are looking for people that would be willing to stay for a minimum of 4 days and work about 5-6 hours a day/5 days a week in exchange for comfortable accommodation and delicious home cooked meals. The work is variable and (depending on your skills) can include things such as helping in the vineyard, gardening, farm maintenance, looking after the farm animals, carpentry, painting and cooking. Swanpool is centrally located in beautiful north east Victoria in the foothills of the Australian Alps. Helping with Gardening, Cooking, Cleaning house, about 3 hours a day, 5 days a week. Good food,Telephone WiFi all provided. Large King size bed with ensuite and fabulous countryside views. Country minded person essential. I love being a guide on helpers days off ( if they want), showing them all the beautiful places in Somerset, which there are many. Travelling the world is the best education you can have and that has been my passion. I’ve met some great travellers with amazing stories, so it's my turn to be the host. I treat my helpers as guests not workers and work with them on many tasks. The accommodation is in the countryside and walking distance from a Pub and restaurant. Normal diet no vegetarians

PLEASE READ MY WHOLE HOST PROFILE BEFORE YOU APPLY TO VISIT MY PLACE AND ASK ABOUT ANYTHING YOUR NOT CLEAR ON. Need help with a garden clean up, at the moment. You don't need to have an overwhelming desire to save the world, live off the land, or be more useful than a Swiss army knife, to stay here. A nice honest person is good enough. This is a relaxing place, close to nature, away from the backpacker trail on the coast but still got a bit happening, somewhere to recharge your batteries, do a bit of work, have a laugh and meet some real Aussies, maybe get out of your comfort zone a bit😜 My place is a cattle farm with one rough headed(inside and out 🤣,) skinny, old farmer, one dog, some cattle, lots of birds and wildlife, relaxing place, near Kyogle, a quiet country town. It is 1.5 hours drive west from Byron Bay, 2 hours south of Brisbane by train. Very close to the beautiful Border Ranges National Park (bike ride away). I like to show people around. Next vacancies likely to be 2nd week of September. We appreciate help with DIY repairs and maintenance, timber work, help with gardening, housekeeing, cooking, duck and chicken rearing and dog walking on the beach. Fishing, snorkelling, and rainforest walks can help occupy your spare time. We hatched two goslings in mid July and are hand-rearing them, real characters! We start 4 hours outside work at 08.00 hr, five mornings a week and at 9 am on Sundays. Saturday is your day off. So most of the work will be outside, based out of a well-equipped workshop and/or in our vegetable garden and hen and duck coops. ‍ Opportunities on your day off include fishing, sailing, snorkeling, weather permitting of course, rainforest walks and river swimming (Mossman River at The Gorge) and free nature tours on crocodile spotting boats on the Daintree River with the #Daintreerivercruisecentre (as Dave sometimes drives their boats and tour-guides for them when needed). We are establishing a m...

My husband Matthias and I, Johanna, came from Germany as backpackers in the 1980s. We met here in NZ, but our home language is German. We are a family with eight children, who we home-educated throughout their school years. Three of them are now married, and we have five grandchildren. Five of our now grown-up children are living at home - either still or again - our oldest son with his wife and 4 boys is living in our cottage, and another son with his wife and baby has moved into a smaller house on our property. A friend lives in our housetruck. So life is happening to the full! Sadly, my husband passed away in January 2024 after a short time of intense illness. We miss him much! Our lifestyle block is home to a gaggle of geese, a flock of domestic ducks, around 40 chickens, some sheep and sometimes a few young male goats, - and of course many wild birds, rabbits and the tiny creatures of fields, woods and duck-pond. An old apple, apricot and peach orchard and a young walnut grove ar...

We're Manon, Alessandro and Brioche (I'm a dog) a little young family passionate about nature, travelling, independence, regenerative practices, agriculture, farming, gardening, trekking and life. After almost 10 years of working and travelling overseas we felt the the needs to set roots and to transform our dream in to a reality. We bought an old farm stable in ruins (dry stone building) inside a very small village and a few hectares of old chestnuts forest next to it. On one side we want to restore the old building using eco techniques, as much as we can, to transform it in to our house and on the other side we are developing a syntropic garden, a little orchard based on agroforestry systems principles that will also be applied to some parts of the chestnuts forest. We're located in South Ardèche, near the town of Joyeuse. The place is famous for its rivers, canyons and forests with plenty of hiking and biking trails, bathing spots, canyoning, rafting, climbing spots, old small vil...

Visit the Thames Coast on the beautiful Coromandel Peninsula! Enjoy home brew, home made breads and fresh fish.. Bush crash up the stream, swim at the beach across the road, come fishing with me on the kayaks. Take the bikes, pedal 2km to Waiomu; then tramp/jog to some beautiful Kauri (1/2 to 3/4hr). Do an overnighter at The Pinnacles Hut up the Kauranga Valley if yr into vast iconic views and like tramping (you need to book). If you have wheels you can do great day trips around the Peninsula. And if yr more chill, Thames has some great op-shops or hangout here and make art. Debs & I are happy boomers on the endless holiday, loving every second left ! However, we seriously need help with the massive task of 296: gardens to create & jungle to clear ! We are keen to host people who want to help, who are comfortable speaking English (or trying) and value simple routines and shared respect. When Debs & I started hosting in 2025 we moved to the sleepout making it possible to host he...

We are in the process of renovating an old house in the Pyrenees. There is only decorating to do such as stripping paint of walls and woodwork, and repainting. There might be the occasional carpentry to do also, nothing too complicated. We need help 5 hours per day, five days per week. Weeding, pruning trees, making paths. We are looking for help from two strong and healthy individuals to assist with a house redecorating project and gardening, trimming trees, path making etc. This requires physical strength and stamina. Winter is getting closer and after a nice summer enjoying green grass, the last sheep which are in the mountains will have to come back in the barn. So we would need people to help us to feed the sheep and clean the barn after them and of course, pet them! The shearers will come for a couple of days in November so if you want to help us to get the sheep ready for their new winter outfit, text us ! There is also free time to enjoy hot spots and swimming pool to relax! You can of course text even if you're available another time of the year, we need people around all year long ! Message us on WhatsApp or on HelpX. My WhatsApp number is above. Send me (Caroline, who runs the HelpX) a message (here, on WhatsApp or Instagram caroline.lsgt). You can also message Beggi (the farmer) directly via Facebook (Alexander Flumbri), named after Beggi's cat! Profile picture is of the cat as well (Beggi doesn't have that many hair!)! Where to start? We are a family in the western part of Iceland, a...

I am an aquatic ecologist who has fortunately been working out of our coastal rain-forest property for 35 years. Driven by strong curiosity, I have recently been developing long-term data sets on the animal life in the forest that surrounds our home, plus on tropical marine fish that are steadily increasing in numbers under the influence of climate change at the nearby very beautiful Seal Rocks area (for details click on my website link below). We have 20 acres with 2 acres cleared and the remainder moist tall forest and rainforest. It is on the coast 3 hrs drive north of Sydney (1.5km from Smiths Lake; 30km south of Forster) See my blog link below to glimpse the accommodation, typical work and fun. We have a 180 squ m vegetable garden at times needing attention which has been enclosed to keep out our friends the wallabies (pademelons), possums, parrots and native bush turkeys. Bush regeneration is another activity as well as assisting in ecological surveys of local rivers when t...

Experiment the French countryside in a modern house Hi Champagne travelers ! I’m a Valérie, 60 yo and I live by myself in a modern home in the countryside of the “Marne” 45min away from Reims and 10min away from Châlons-en-Champagne I have 2 adult daughters, one leaving in Sallanches in the french Alps and the other traveling and being a helper abroad, mainly in Canada ! I have a large plot of land around my house, a small orchard and a lot of shrubs and plants. I’ve rented my daughter’s room on airbnb for several years so I'm used to welcome people in my house but as I live alone sometimes it’s hard to take care of the property by myself and that’s why I would be keen on welcoming from time to time some helpers ! I prioritize short stays of 2 weeks - mainly during march, april, october, november. Or cats/home keeping when I am traveling. You would stay on the first floor with your own room and bathroom and we share the rest of the house. There’s Wi-Fi and the television. You would ...

INTRODUCTION This is NOT a hostel, but a personal project aimed to become an educational & cultural spot in the neighborhood. It means, you will NOT work following a set of rules to make profits for a bussiness, but to participate with ideas/creativity/emotions/action to develop a social-aimed venture. Please, before introducing yourself, which is very nice, ask me if the days you apply are available to welcome you. Applications are accepted in order of arrival and mutual agreement :) BASIC BENEFITS - Wide garden, bedroom, living room, little kitchen. They all are simple. Any area is shared. - Breakfast will be provided by the host the work days. However, the lunch and dinner can be cooked in the kitchen by the guest/volunteer/friend. I am flexible to talk about these and other clauses. - You handle to organize your work hours/days. ADDITIONAL BENEFITS - Welcome cocktail or typical Peruvian meal. - Detailed advice on transport or interesting spots in the area or the country (I've...

We are looking for up to 2 people to help feed cattle and sheep, and a handyman that would like to do some building work. We have approximately 2000 hectares of undulating country, situated in the middle of New South Wales. We run sheep, cattle, and do some farming. We run approximately 1500 sheep, which need lamb marking and shearing. With the cattle we have mustering and yard work. We also have daily feeding of calves and lambs. The bee hives need some attention, eg extracting honey, moving boxes around, cleaning area. We also have chickens and turkeys, which need attention daily and working dogs to be cared for. With fencing and building we also need help. We have composting, vegetable garden and fruit trees. When it rains we need help with our grain farming. Currently we need help with cutting fire wood around the property, this will consist of 3 to 4 hours per day and can help get you some pocket money and also experience the land. I also have bee hives that need some attention a...

Hello! If you’re a solo traveler looking for a peaceful, safe, nature filled place to stay, we’d really love to hear from you. We currently have availability from Monday September 7th to September to September 14th and September 18th to September 25th, then from 25th October onwards. We pause hosting from December to February because the heat and humidity make outdoor work uncomfortable — focusing on the cooler months means your stay is far more enjoyable, relaxed, and productive. 🌱 Who We Are We’re Craig and Yvonne, easy going retirees in our late sixties who’ve built our dream life on a forested acreage (not a farm) overlooking Wallis Lake and the Pacific Ocean. We love welcoming curious, kind, nature loving helpers into our home and creating a safe, calm, and friendly environment — especially for solo travelers who appreciate comfort and respect. 🛠️ Your Role (Flexible & Supportive) We’d like you to help us in the mornings, five flexible half days a week, starting early, with ...

Update We would like to have an helping hand now, until the end of September for preparing for the autumn. It will be some gardening and helping Anders with an extra hand for renovation of our master bathroom. Susanne and I, Anders, bought this old school 10 years ago. The overall goal is to finish the renovation of our houses and run a small B&B in the "new school house." We live here on the edge of the Forest, in the nearly 200 year Old Schoolhouse, with our two small Jack Russells Wilda and Freja. We are both retired, but still feel we are just over 25, maybe a little bit more. Our lifestyle is this country life, to follow nature and the seasons. Most of the heavy work is done by now. Almost time to start all over again. Since this is our life, we do as we please, when we please and of course according to the weather. (People make plans and the old Gods just laugh). We try to do a little something every day, preferably visible. We have a grand plan for every season but not dow...

Kia Ora! Welcome! We are a friendly couple with two cats, living on a quarter of an acre. Jarrod works in Logistics and Nikki teaches preschool Montessori. Jarrod and Nikki met on a year exchange in Sweden and have enjoyed hosting students from around the world for over 25 years. This house was the first property to be built on Budleigh Street in the late 60's and was therefore allowed to sit within Shepard's Park reserve, which surrounds us on three sides. We purchased this property several years ago and are slowly working at developing the gardens. (Apparently, Florence, the previous owner, was a tremendous gardener but in the past ten years the garden was given no care and has gone rouge.) Our current projects around the property are; planting seedlings, mulching, and LOTS of weeding the garden. We are working at planting our veggie garden, harvesting from our fruit trees, and creating a path with stones. Long term, would like to develop a 'food forest' and 'tropical garden...

I'm Thanasis, a 45 years old greek man living in the South of the Peloponnes. I'm a farmer, with oranges trees and some olive trees. I need help all the year to maintain the big farm (orange and olive harvest, trees pruning, pick-up fallen oranges, and so on..) If you come, you will have your own room (1 for a couple or separate), and access to all the rest of the house (kitchen, bathroom...). I like to share the meal, and provide food if you want to cook. You also can use WI-FI connection. You could enjoy the life between the farm and the city of Skala Lakonia, wich offer a lot of coffee shop, restaurants, and any kind of stores. Minimum stay is 2 weeks, to allow time to learn about life on the farm. I need help for a maximum of 5 hours per day, 5 days per week, depending on the weather. I really like to meet new people and introduce them to Greece history. I practice karaté (three times per week) and would be happy to show you basis if you are interested. If you want to discover...

We are a cultural and arts community that is working towards being self-sustained. The community is situated in the mountains of Monchique, Portugal surrounded by nature. Our community provides an alternative way of living with permaculture gardens, farm animals, sustainability projects, and arts and cultural workshops. It is a great place to come to meet other like-minded people if you are passionate about sustainability and alternative living. We hold community meetings throughout the week alongside activities and workshops, such as quiz nights, dance nights and yoga classes. If you have something you are passionate about and want to share with others, we would love for you to run a workshop. One of the best things here is the variety of tasks you can do as a volunteer, which gives you the opportunity to learn new skills and discover what you enjoy doing most. Hello my name's Linda. I am a Queens English speaking intelligent lady, in her early 60's. Animal LOVER. The local area is full of native bush, plenty of walking tracks (southern walkway, mt albert lookout, red rocks seal colony), beaches for swimming/snorkelling or surfing, and being close enough to the city to enjoy other attractions Wellington has to offer too. Or check out nearby Newtown for opshops, owhiro bay for Carlucciland minigolf with sculpture walkway, or head to thr cinema at Island Bay. About me and why I host: I was born in the uk and, after travelling around the world for about 9mths, I came to nz on a working holiday visa with a plan to be in Wellington for a week. It has been over 20yrs! My 2 kids are now adults and on their own overseas adventures.

PLEASE NOTE WELL: we absolutely cannot host anyone with any pre-existing health issues, physical or mental (we are not medically trained to manage such conditions), such as hay fever, any other allergies, sensitivities or intolerances. We live in a small village with some shops and a climbing centre and a river just opposite the house. We have a quite a size garden where we grow vegetables, fruit bushes and trees. Here, we have spectacular mountain views on our do...

We live on an amazing 120 acre bush property about 25 minutes from Bryon Bay, 15 mins from Mullumbimby on an intention community with 6 other families in a beautiful valley, Our land is a wildlife reserve with plentiful native animals about. It’s gorgeous here with a pristine creek at the door step, waterfalls and national park just up the road. I have a big old Queenslander house, which I moved to the land 30 years ago. My place is like a little community within the community- but we all have our private space! I need some HELP as i am moving back into my house after being away for a few years.

We have a combination of short-term and long-term volunteers and on average we have between 10 to 20 volunteers and resident...

Hello my name's Linda. I am a Queens English speaking intelligent lady, in her early 60's. Animal LOVER. Previously had lived in incredibly touristiky tacky Marmaris in Turkey more than 16 years running private boat and fishing charters. BUT NOW on with my next about turn adventure and BIG life change having bought a very old part renovated Cortijo/FARMHOUSE in Spain, Andulucia, Granada Province on the beautiful but windy Costa Tropical famous for its exotic fruit and vegetable growing. I am 7km inland from the sea a 15/20 minutes by car journey down the gulley's mountain track from the Barranco/Ravine and Rambla/Riverbed to the coasts traditional fishing village Castell de Ferro, officially named as one of the Magical Villages of Spain on the coast below the sea and mountainous Alpujarra's and Sierra Nevada's. The REMOTE Cortijo is mostly renovated and large, she stands solitary on the slopes of a low mountain lea below Mount Lujar, I am at 350meters above sea level. Amazing mountain...

Kia ora! Thanks for your interest in coming to stay in Houghton Bay, Wellington. We used to host via couchsurfing and love meeting people from around the world and hearing their stories or just chatting in general (I love tea!). However a bad back, busy life, trying to renovate, and a section that loves to grow weeds as ...
