.Hilary and I live in a 3 bedroom strawbale house which we built with the help of family, friends and HelpX. After three years of fun and hard work, the house was finished in 2012. In 2020 we decided to have another affair with strawbale. In a paddock near the house we built "Lockdown Cottage"; a 10 square meter, single room retreat. The buildings are on just over 6 hectares and we have sheep, goats, a cat, honey bees, native tree plantings, an orchard, soft fruits and nut trees. We look out over the amazing Mahau Sound. There are kayaks so you can explore the Mahau Sound. You will get a wet bottom but the time spent exploring will make that worth while. At night time it is a short walk to see the glow worms sprinkled along the banks at the top of the drive. Your bed is comfortable, the washing machine is there for you to use, and the food is great. We are a multi generation family and we live in a large family home on a beautiful outer suburban property by a creek. On our doorstep are beautiful wildflower walk trails (and kangaroos!:) in Mundy Regional Park and Lesmurdie Falls National Park. Kanyana Wildlife sanctuary is nearby. We have a large garden that needs lots of work. I have an art studio where I conduct art classes for children.
