We are a cultural and arts community that is working towards being self-sustained. The community is situated in the mountains of Monchique, Portugal surrounded by nature. Our community provides an alternative way of living with permaculture gardens, farm animals, sustainability projects, and arts and cultural workshops. It is a great place to come to meet other like-minded people if you are passionate about sustainability and alternative living. We hold community meetings throughout the week alongside activities and workshops, such as quiz nights, dance nights and yoga classes. If you have something you are passionate about and want to share with others, we would love for you to run a workshop. One of the best things here is the variety of tasks you can do as a volunteer, which gives you the opportunity to learn new skills and discover what you enjoy doing most. We have a combination of short-term and long-term volunteers and on average we have between 10 to 20 volunteers and resident...

I once volunteered as a helper in Australia and met many kind and interesting hosts. I benefited a lot from the experience. That’s why I want to give back on this platform and warmly welcome travelers to experience real local life in China. We are a warm, friendly and harmonious family living in a quiet and beautiful countryside village in Yangzhou, Jiangsu, China. Transportation is very convenient: only 15 minutes drive to Yangzhou Airport, and 25 minutes to the high-speed railway station. My father is a professional doctor with a private clinic at home. If you are interested in Traditional Chinese Medicine, you are welcome to visit and learn TCM culture every day. My mother cooks extremely delicious authentic Huaiyang home-cooked meals for you every day. I am a professional yoga teacher. I often travel abroad to organize international Yoga Retreats, and I also run cross-border foreign trade business at home. We keep a healthy, peaceful and positive lifestyle. We provide a...

We are in the process of renovating an old house in the Pyrenees. There is only decorating to do such as stripping paint of walls and woodwork, and repainting. There might be the occasional carpentry to do also, nothing too complicated. We need help 5 hours per day, five days per week. Weeding, pruning trees, making paths. We are looking for help from two strong and healthy individuals to assist with a house redecorating project and gardening, trimming trees, path making etc. This requires physical strength and stamina. PLEASE NOTE WELL: we absolutely cannot host anyone with any pre-existing health issues, physical or mental (we are not medically trained to manage such conditions), such as hay fever, any other allergies, sensitivities or intolerances. We live in a small village with some shops and a climbing centre and a river just opposite the house. We have a quite a size garden where we grow vegetables, fruit bushes and trees. Here, we have spectacular mountain views on our do...

This is a Standardbred Race Horse (Harness Racing) farm at the foot of Tamborine Mountain. Located 45 minutes from Brisbane in the beautiful Gold Coast hinterland. The closest train station is Beenleigh. Your own car is a plus. We welcome working holiday visa holders with good horse experience and most importantly a passion for horses !! In order to learn your daily task, routine and horses personalities, we will ask you to stay a minimum of 3 weeks. Long stays are really welcome. Your role on the farm would be helping with the daily care of our racehorses. It's an everyday job starting depending of the sun (4.30am in summer and later on winter time). We start each morning training the horses, washing them and feeding them. All the retired horses need to be feed and watered as well. We need to feed and water all the horses again each night before dark. The ideal helpers will be positive, willing and with a some decent english. Because it’s a 30 hec property and there is always some...

Hello, I am looking for some help with gardening and house maintenance, preferably someone with a bit of gardening know-how to help control (in a wild way) a medium size garden Also help with dog walking and possibly pet sitting for short periods. Bit of strimming and mowing, and some weeding. Renovation of window frames and painting when weather allows. Trying to grow veg as much as possible, but not easy up here.(lots of rabbits and deer) Indoors --- well could do with a bit of organizing! Also some help with the bigger cleaning jobs, like the vast windows! I am living in the middle of Dartmoor National Park which is a great place for walking and scenery, and one of the last remaining wilderness areas in England. Person with organisational skills and sense of humour and who loves the great outdoors and the quiet would be ideal. One lovely dog and cat in the house, and the occasional guest. Please note, due to financial constraints I cannot accommodate long term helpers

Hello! My name is Brandy, I'm a horticulturist and I care for our 40 hectare property, which is a mix of regenerating native forest, exotic forest and pasture, as well as gardens and fruit trees by the house. My husband Kyle and I moved out of the city in search of a quiet, self sustainable life. We have three cats, chooks, and a few dozen Arapawa sheep roaming around. We love growing food from our land and sharing over good wine, good chats and hearty laughs. There is always so much to do around here so we are happy to get to know you and your skillsets/ambitions to find enjoyable tasks on the property. These could include landscaping and gardening, propagation of trees, firewood splitting, building and woodwork, painting, food prep, cleaning, tending to animals, conservation, track building and so much more. The accommodation is a guesthouse separate from the house with bathroom and kitchenette. We are approximately 25-30 minutes from Motueka - there is no public transport arou...

Hi. We are a family of 4 and a new farm. Started in 2025 and although we do not live on site, we spend most of our time there. Our land is an ancient lead mine, was also inhabited by the Romans and we have a Bronze age burial tomb. * We are not able to reply to all messages, sorry We are in an isolated position and it can be quite lonely otherwise, as we do not live at the farm ourselves. We are currently booking people for September to stay in our Belt tent. It is large at 7 m there is no heating in it, one of the jobs we will try to do is to get a bus ready that we have on site for a more cozy stay. If the weather is very bad, you can stay on our sofa bed in our lounge at our house which is about 15 minutes drive away from the land/farm. Help is needed amongst other things, feeding our 3 Iron age pigs, Soay sheep, goats and chickens. This year we would like to plant plenty of trees so would be great to show you how to do this and get some more trees planted. Moving firewood, r...

Visit the Thames Coast on the beautiful Coromandel Peninsula! Enjoy home brew, home made breads and fresh fish.. Bush crash up the stream, swim at the beach across the road, come fishing with me on the kayaks. Take the bikes, pedal 2km to Waiomu; then tramp/jog to some beautiful Kauri (1/2 to 3/4hr). Do an overnighter at The Pinnacles Hut up the Kauranga Valley if yr into vast iconic views and like tramping (you need to book). If you have wheels you can do great day trips around the Peninsula. And if yr more chill, Thames has some great op-shops or hangout here and make art. Debs & I are happy boomers on the endless holiday, loving every second left ! However, we seriously need help with the massive task of 296: gardens to create & jungle to clear ! We are keen to host people who want to help, who are comfortable speaking English (or trying) and value simple routines and shared respect. When Debs & I started hosting in 2025 we moved to the sleepout making it possible to host he...

I am an aquatic ecologist who has fortunately been working out of our coastal rain-forest property for 35 years. Driven by strong curiosity, I have recently been developing long-term data sets on the animal life in the forest that surrounds our home, plus on tropical marine fish that are steadily increasing in numbers under the influence of climate change at the nearby very beautiful Seal Rocks area (for details click on my website link below). We have 20 acres with 2 acres cleared and the remainder moist tall forest and rainforest. It is on the coast 3 hrs drive north of Sydney (1.5km from Smiths Lake; 30km south of Forster) See my blog link below to glimpse the accommodation, typical work and fun. We have a 180 squ m vegetable garden at times needing attention which has been enclosed to keep out our friends the wallabies (pademelons), possums, parrots and native bush turkeys. Bush regeneration is another activity as well as assisting in ecological surveys of local rivers when t...

I need a Helper to be motivated, willing to take a turn with the cooking and other household chores. There is a perfect opportunity for a competent and trustworthy Helper to look after things when I am away for a few days every now and then. Own vehicle a definite advantage. Stunning mountain and bush scenery, plenty of places to explore, including nearby Lakes Hawea and Wanaka. Blue Pools only 8km away. ps if you are a critical thinker / freedom person, please feel free to mention this in your application. It is very refreshing to share my days with like minded folk, especially if you are part of the spiritual awakening in addition to being awake to the global ag...

We grow organic table grapes, a few fruit trees, chickens and a few pigs. This is a real farm experience, mostly working in the vineyard, with some fun too. There is biking to town, swimming in the ocean or our lake, fishing, basketball, volleyball, hiking, nature walks, beach strolling and look for fossils at Blue Beach, camp fires , rope swing in our little lake, take in the fantastic views, sunsets, star gazing, internet, phone and go to nearby towns such as Wolfville and Hantsport as well as the rest of the Annapolis Valley with the local bus. The accommodations and kitchen are separate for helpers cooking with an abundance of food. This is a more independent farm stay. Hope you can make it here.

My daughter and I live rurally in a very friendly and quiet community, close to the centre of the village with sports grounds, saleyards, service station, club house etc. We have ornamental gardens and some fruit trees, a friendly dog, 4 chickens, a little flock of pet sheep, a pet goat who is a bit mad but we love her to bits, and a good amount of native birds. I, 51, am a Kiwi, but I was born and raised in France. I have lived in NZ for almost 20 years. After many adventures and career changes, I am now in my second year as a teacher at the local high school. My daughter, 14, is a delightful, very determined young woman with impressive wisdom for her age. She has a gift and passion for music and loves to spend time with our helpers and share her already wide knowledge of things ;) She spends every other week here but is currently overseas with her dad. We are about 20 minutes away from Whangarei by car. If you like some freedom of movement and want to explore everything that is ...

Gardening, housework, light mechanical, a bit of hunting, all sorts of things, never boring.A wicked sense of humor is a good asset to bring. handy to Routeburn and Greenstone tracks. You will need your own internet connection as I don't supply wifi. A bit isolated, not for the precious, no trophy hunters!! Please don't apply unless you intend to come for a minimum stay of two weeks. One person only. We do not get involved with internships or visa applications. Vegetarians and vegans would probably not be comfortable as we eat meat daily. I am off grid and totally dependent on solar, so you have to charge your devices during the day and definitely no hairdryers! Accommodation is a house bus in warmer weather or a room in the house in winter, not shared usually. Lastly I also play the guitar (badly) and sing (worse) but it's all about smile not style :-) , please don't come if you have a heavy cold or flu, I'm involved with the elderly. Cheers Al

Kia ora, **Currently we have availability for 1 week stays, between 7th - 24th September, then from 19th October - 7th December and finally from 25th January - 2nd May, 2027** Bookings of 1 week are preferred. We have a spray free, suburban garden in Ngaio, Wellington, 15 mins drive from the city. Recent Activity Coming into September (Spring), nothing is being harvested right now, it's all about getting the soil ready for planting. The winter has been pretty wet with a few cold snaps. The broad beans have been really slow growing this year. We've made a slurry of bio char, sheep manure & water. It needs to steep until 15th September before I can add it to the compost bin & dig a bit through the back garden. The new front door has been professionally installed, now the back door needs re-painting to match it. What's next? For the next phase, we would love some assistance with the following tasks. *Weeding *Cleaning & re-potting exterior pots *Prepping beds *Digging in slurry when ...

We are looking for helpers who can help for a minimum of two weeks, but helpers who can stay a bit longer, up to six weeks or similar are preferred. This really suits helpers who are keen to learn about farming and are interested in that as part of their travels through NZ. We provide you with your own separate, private, peaceful accommodation, with en-suite, washing machine and kitchen with beautiful views of rural land and Tasman Bay. Wi-Fi, power and water included, plus food allowance. At present we are likely looking at availability at the end of September/early October. You must be physically strong, hard-working, practical and fit, with plenty of stamina - as well as not being afraid of getting your hands dirty. Beautiful hill country sheep and cattle farm, with views of the sea and mountains. You must enjoy working with animals, be kind, respect and care for them. There is plenty to do all year around and depends on the season. Currently we are just finishing lambing wh...

For an experience in a farm with horses and dogs, if you love nature and are not afraid of hard work! Here you’ll find silence and peace, and also many splendid places to visit. [UPDATE: We don’t have availability for a position in horse care only. But we have availability for a strong person, hard worker, to help outside with the bush clearing, using the brushcutter, driving the tractor to grind the fields, apart from helping a bit with the animals and the handling of horses. Note that we are very busy during the week, and we can't go and check our emails every day. You might have to wait a bit for an answer. Sorry for this.] We live in a sparsely populated area called Berry located in the center of France between Orléans (60km) and Bourges (50km). The closest city is Gien, 27km away. Just west is the county called Sologne, where nature is all around, though we are at only 2 hours from Paris. East is the Sancerre valley. We are looking for handy volunteers or good riders. Hey hey HelpX'ers! 😊 I'm Scotty, a 31-year-old Kiwi who has spent over five years travelling the world, visiting more than 60 countries and doing HelpX and working holidays in several of them. Those experiences were some of the highlights of my travels, so now it's my turn to return the favour and host! Our farm is a little slice of paradise. We're just 5 minutes from the beach and 5 minutes from town, but tucked away enough to enjoy peace, quiet, beautiful sunsets, and some of the best starry skies you'll ever see. I'm hoping to welcome people who value kindness, respect, good conversation, and enjoying the simple things in life. My goal is to create an easy-going environment where work gets done, but having a great experience together is just as important. The work is a relaxed mix of farm, lifestyle, and general property jobs. We have cattle, sheep, chickens, our friendly cat Molly, gardens, an orchard, and there's always something different happening, so no two days are ever ...

We are a couple from Austria and we live since january 2014 in the middle of the Swedish nature together with around 25 Alaskan Huskies. Our farm is in the middle of now-where at the beginning of Swedish Lapland and you can expect a lot of nature, lakes, woods and a lot of wild animals like bears, lynx, moose, reindeers and many different kind of birds. You can help us with training and feeding the dogs, cleaning the kennels. In wintertime there is also help needed with snow shoveling. You should be able to speak English (B2) or German. You should also be able to work sometimes alone. There is plenty of spare time, to explore the nature and the surrounding. You should be at least 18 years old, a teamplayer, love to be outside, it is not necessary that you have knowledge about dogs or in special about sleddogs. You will get all the information from us. You should arrive healthy. What we offer is accommodation in a cabin with bathroom and toilet. And you will get groceries which yo...

After selling our farm we have moved to a beautiful 40 acre block on the boundary of Mount Aspiring National Park. Makarora is a small settlement, 60km north of Wanaka, on the way to Haast and the West Coast. Helper tasks include help maintaining the surrounding native bush, care of the chooks, ducks, dogs and house cows.

Cheers Al

We have a vineyard, olive trees and vacation houses near Tropea in Calabria. We need a couple to help us for some week from september to june for vintage, olive harvest, gardening, general maintenance and internet announcements. In autumn, winter and spring we have a lot to do in the vineyard, with the olive trees, the house and garden. Accommodation in a full equipped chalet offered. It is better to COME WITH CAR or rent it here. We expect you to work 2 and half hours a day (16-20) hours a week. You should buy and cook your food. We are used to give local products and teach you how to prepare traditional dishes. We appreciate if you work more hours on weekends because we are at home. You have a free day in the week. If we have time, we can show you around our region and our white sandy beaches. We would be glad to welcome people from all over the world to our home. We prefer couples. Feel free to write us an Email! It's possible to contact us early, that's not a problem!

Check...

Looking to broaden your horizons? Come and join us in Romania near the Black Sea, where time stood still, life and food is good, the sun is shining and people are extremely hospitable! WE NEED HELP WITH: Restoring the old ecological garden (permaculture, including planting, pruning old trees and digging), the restoration of the cottage and the sustainable construction of the lodges that will be built with natural (recycled) materials such as wood, stones, straw and clay. YOU: We would love to invite you if you are a helpful and flexible team worker and have experience with gardening (including planting and digging); carpentry; masonry; and/or plumbing or simply help with painting or cooking is welcome too. You are respectful of the environment and careful. Although the garden is spacious, we do have neighbors so please respect their privacy and do not cause any disturbance.
