We are a small-scale, organic vegetable farm in Palmer, Alaska. We grow an array of beautiful produce which includes carrots, tomatoes, strawberries, zucchini, brussel sprouts, romanesco, broccoli, potatoes, rhubarb, onions, beets, and many more. All of the vegetables we sell at local farmers markets are grown by us and are free of pesticides, GMOs, and chemicals. We not only believe that people should feel connected to their food, but we also feel that it should be delicious, healthy, and accessible. Work on the farm varies by season. In the Spring we spend our time prepping the field, sewing seeds, growing transplants, cultivating those seeds in the field, weeding, and watering. My husband and I moved to this 240 acre farm in the South Burnett Region of South East Qld 2 years ago and have recently moved into a purpose built cottage (to reduce our footprint) relying on rainwater for the house and bore water for the gardens and to reduce our footprint further we have installed a composting toilet. 40 fruit trees have been planted and raised garden beds made which is the start of our edible oasis.
