My name is Paul. About 17 years ago I had this slightly crazy dream of changing my life from being an office worker to becoming an alpaca farmer in the Swedish countryside. Somehow, 17 years later, here we are :) Norrängens is our 100-acre farm just outside Sala, about an hour from Stockholm. We have around 70 alpacas, plus llamas, peacocks, hens, rabbits, a turkey, my cat Sexy, the kids’ cat Vernon and Malta, our farm dog. I have three children, Liam (22), Dylan (13) and Oscar (10). Liam has grown up and moved away from home. Dylan and Oscar live between me and their mum, although sometimes they seem to spend more time here :) When they’re here they’re part of farm life and help out when they can. This is our home and our little family as well as being a farm. Things are quite different here from a few years ago. We used to run a much bigger and busier tourism operation. These days things are smaller and quieter. The economy has been a bit of a struggle, if I’m honest, and this y...

Hey hey HelpX'ers! 😊 I'm Scotty, a 31-year-old Kiwi who has spent over five years travelling the world, visiting more than 60 countries and doing HelpX and working holidays in several of them. Those experiences were some of the highlights of my travels, so now it's my turn to return the favour and host! Our farm is a little slice of paradise. We're just 5 minutes from the beach and 5 minutes from town, but tucked away enough to enjoy peace, quiet, beautiful sunsets, and some of the best starry skies you'll ever see. I'm hoping to welcome people who value kindness, respect, good conversation, and enjoying the simple things in life. My goal is to create an easy-going environment where work gets done, but having a great experience together is just as important. The work is a relaxed mix of farm, lifestyle, and general property jobs. We have cattle, sheep, chickens, our friendly cat Molly, gardens, an orchard, and there's always something different happening, so no two days are ever ...

Hello, my helper left without finishing the terrace we were making, love some help with. I am 70 and in good condition but alone this work too heavy for me. If someone can give me a hand that would be lovely. You are welcome to come to help I like to share my beautiful place where you can have big walks or visit the markets in the villages around me (I like to cook good healthy meals, also vegetarian if wanted). There is place (also near the river) for camping or camping-cars. I planned to leave for a visit to The Netherlands where my (grand) kids live from 23 of september till 14 oktober, if you can and will you can stay in my house and take care of my animals(2 dogs and 4cats). There is a wood burner in the house and enough wood. The garden provides still a lot of good food which you can eat. Hope to find someone..Thanks Aletta Dear all, I'm looking for people who are willing and able to help build a Walipini greenhouse at my new home on a south-facing sl...

🏔️ Help Wanted: Alpine Farm Restoration & Lambing Season! Location: Lower Austria (Rax Mountain/Schneeberg area) Vibe: International, hard-working, family-oriented, and authentic. For us, the exchange is a two-way street. We want to learn from our guests as much as they learn from us, creating memories through shared meals and conversations. We are a pretty colourful bunch of nice people composed of an austrian and a middle east family and long standing international friends. We grow organic table grapes, a few fruit trees, chickens and a few pigs. This is a real farm experience, mostly working in the vineyard, with some fun too. There is biking to town, swimming in the ocean or our lake, fishing, basketball, volleyball, hiking, nature walks, beach strolling and look for fossils at Blue Beach, camp fires , rope swing in our little lake, take in the fantastic views, sunsets, star gazing, internet, phone and go to nearby towns such as Wolfville and Hantsport as well as the rest of the Annapolis Valley with the local bus. The accommodations and kitchen are separate for helpers cooking with an abundance of food. This is a more independent farm stay. Hope you can make it here.

Hallo, adventurous HelpX people, Welcome to the Paddock Straw bale house '26 Currently looking for friends or couple to come for the rest of the summer and into autumn ( stay a week minimum) to help us clear the garden, strimming, cutting willow, shifting pallets, making a pond, shredding wood. South Devon is at its best at the moment and paddle boards and canals on the estuary are great way to relax after work. 4h daily. We had to build our modern steel frame and straw bale house without help x support due to restrictions from planning! We have now gained habitation and are open to share our home. We have used 1100 straw bales, 35t of clay and lime each and charred our cladding boards to create a stunning effect. We are now turning to interior finishes and furnishing, garden and eco sport systems including heating, rain water harvesting and potentially hydropower. We installed wall heating in walls and floor and mudded through and earth rammed floor. So there is a lot of know...

We live with our 3 young children on a farm just before Ngunguru on the famous Tutukaka Coast. Our property is 42 hectares filled with native bush, waterfalls, recent pine and manuka plantings, streams and pastures. There is lots to explore on our property and the surround coastlines. There is a free standing cottage on the property which is currently being tenanted, and currently a tiny house is being built on leased land in a corner of our property. We are situated in one of the largest Cork Tree areas in the world.Mediterranean forest ecoystems are considered one of the most important ecosystems right after Virgin Forests. We live on a small hill farm in the beautiful county Wicklow known as the garden of Ireland. We are a family of four. Becky and Kilian and our daughters Zoe (11) and Bea (8). Fiona (18) is also staying with us this year as an au-pair. We are quite remote so it is very serene and peaceful and the view is amazing. We speak English and German as well as French. We farm organically and have 15 free range organic pigs as well as 2 horses and 5 cats. We also have a poly tunnel and farm garden where we grow vegetables for our own use. Becky works from home and Kilian when he is not farming, has an additional part time job which calls him away on projects from time to time. We live 1km outside a little village called Redcross. It has a pub that brews its own beers and there is also a restaurant, snack bar and shop. We are 20 minutes to drive from a town called Arklow which is on the sea and there is normally a chance to get a lift in but it’s only a 1 hour cycle. Wicklow is a cool part of t...

Kia Ora. We live in the historic village of Puhoi, about half an hour north of Auckland. We have been hosting through helpx for many years now, and have met some wonderful people along the way. We enjoy sharing our home, garden and countryside surroundings. Our house is a short walk to the village of Puhoi. There are regional parks and beaches are close by to explore. There is the famous Puhoi pub, and the village is on the Te Araroa walkway route. Your own transport is recommended, as there is no public transport into Puhoi, but we can pick up from Hibiscus Coast Bus Station, if you're using Public transport. The work around here are are mainly helping outdoors, gardening, weeding, wheel barrowing, mulching , tree pruning, and other practical building types of work if you have the skills,. On wet days there's cleaning to do. Some dog walking or house and dog sitting might also be an option for the right person, own transport a necessity for that arrangement to work. Also a...

Hi! We are Steve and Johanna, a couple who decided to buy a property with magical views and a shearing shed on the top of a mountain. This venue is very exposed and not for the faint-hearted in wild weather! But when the sun shines it's truly paradise. We converted the shearing shed into a home and have now been here 28 months. We have a small shed next to the house which contains a sleeping "capsule", complete with double bed, lights, mirror, clothes hanging space etc. We have installed a toilet with handbasin behind the garage which serves as a wee bathroom for visitors. There is always a project on the go and weeding and planting to do as well...send us a message or give us a call. If you like to explore, there are plenty of slopes to wander over, plus some beautiful NZ bush. We have 2 energetic Foxy/ Jack Russell puppies who roam and play and love attention. We love the interactions with our HelpX guests and the variety of people we host is stimulating and satisfying. Come enjoy...

INTRODUCTION This is NOT a hostel, but a personal project aimed to become an educational & cultural spot in the neighborhood. It means, you will NOT work following a set of rules to make profits for a bussiness, but to participate with ideas/creativity/emotions/action to develop a social-aimed venture. Please, before introducing yourself, which is very nice, ask me if the days you apply are available to welcome you. Applications are accepted in order of arrival and mutual agreement :) BASIC BENEFITS - Wide garden, bedroom, living room, little kitchen. They all are simple. Any area is shared. - Breakfast will be provided by the host the work days. However, the lunch and dinner can be cooked in the kitchen by the guest/volunteer/friend. I am flexible to talk about these and other clauses. - You handle to organize your work hours/days. ADDITIONAL BENEFITS - Welcome cocktail or typical Peruvian meal. - Detailed advice on transport or interesting spots in the area or the country (I've...

We are a small-scale, organic vegetable farm in Palmer, Alaska. We grow an array of beautiful produce which includes carrots, tomatoes, strawberries, zucchini, brussel sprouts, romanesco, broccoli, potatoes, rhubarb, onions, beets, and many more. All of the vegetables we sell at local farmers markets are grown by us and are free of pesticides, GMOs, and chemicals. We not only believe that people should feel connected to their food, but we also feel that it should be delicious, healthy, and accessible. Work on the farm varies by season. In the Spring we spend our time prepping the field, sewing seeds, growing transplants, cultivating those seeds in the field, weeding, and watering. As we move into summer and fall helpers will have the opportunity to harvest and sell the fruits and vegetables that have been growing the past few months at the local farmers’ markets.
