I am an aquatic ecologist who has fortunately been working out of our coastal rain-forest property for 35 years. Driven by strong curiosity, I have recently been developing long-term data sets on the animal life in the forest that surrounds our home, plus on tropical marine fish that are steadily increasing in numbers under the influence of climate change at the nearby very beautiful Seal Rocks area (for details click on my website link below). We have 20 acres with 2 acres cleared and the remainder moist tall forest and rainforest. It is on the coast 3 hrs drive north of Sydney (1.5km from Smiths Lake; 30km south of Forster) See my blog link below to glimpse the accommodation, typical work and fun. We have a 180 squ m vegetable garden at times needing attention which has been enclosed to keep out our friends the wallabies (pademelons), possums, parrots and native bush turkeys. Bush regeneration is another activity as well as assisting in ecological surveys of local rivers when t...

We are a small family run cattle farm. We live in a beautiful part of the world with a very refreshing and clean river running through our property right on our doorstep and many beautiful places to visit nearby. Aside from the cattle we also have many other animals including sheep, chickens, horses, dogs, cats, guinea pigs and fish. Our family is Michael and myself, our 2 children 8 and 6 years old and my mother Liz. We are looking for some help around the house and gardens , including some house cleaning, weeding, pruning and looking after our vegie garden and watering. Ideally looking for someone who likes to cook and share cooking meals, is great interacting with kids and animals and enjoys a quiet setting away from town. We have a small fully furnished granny flat suitable for single or couple and share main bathroom in main house. We live 30 km from the closest shops. Having your own car would be a great advantage for yourself to explore the area in your spare time but not essenti...

I am looking for people that are passionate about dogs and like to spend time and work with dogs. A pack of 24 huskies is something different than having a pet dog at home. You will be able to join our animal assisted programs with kids and young adults and learn about it. I am educated in dog physiotherapy as well and there is the possibility to learn in this field as well. Beside the main topic the huskies we have bee hives and produce our own honey. There is a big garden with fruits and vegetables that needs maintainance. To sum it up our work here is mainly outdoors with nature and animals. Every day is different so its not possible to give you a long term daily structure in advance. There are some everyday tasks in the dogcare but the rest of the work depends on the weather and the season. As we live in a small village the main freetime activities are biking and hiking. More freetime options you find in cities around in your days off. Vienna is quite close and its possible to ta...

My name is Edison I have a wife, her name is Nofi. I also have two children, Ochta (32 years old) and Fadlil (12 years old). Ochta can speak English. I run a private English school for children between the ages of 7 and 19 in the small town of Batusangkar, West Sumatra. My goal as the principal of the school is to provide youth from my region with the English skills required to communicate better in the modern world, and therefore provide them with better opportunities in their lives. I would like to welcome any fluent English speakers under the age of thirty to assist my teachers in the classroom. You would help immensely by having simple conversations with the students and providing them a real English speaking experience inside or outside the classroom. All the students are very welcoming and curious about my visitors, and I am certain that you will have a great experience while interacting with them. You can expect to answer all their questions, pose for pictures, and be invited...

Kia ora, I am can offer a sunny bedroom and ensuite with deck access, in 5 min walk from beautiful Narrowneck beach and easy access to all of Devonport Village, and quick ferry (15 minute) commute to Auckland CBD. The bus stop is at end of street. In return I require help with house maintenance, mainly painting (you need to have experience), outside garden walls and house touch up. (Nothing above ground level). There are no pets or children, I live alone, I will be working at home.. The location offers the best of Auckland summer to explore- beaches, ferries to islands in Hauraki Gulf, and the historic village of Devonport. Happy to share, guide you to the historic side of Auckland (if you wish suggestions). In return for 4 hrs of labour per day, accommodation and food provided. I will prepare dinner. It is not essential to do 4 hrs every day, if you wish to do a whole day, then take day to explore Auckland. I prefer if you work mornings (heat makes this wise).

We have numerous varieties of fruit trees, including a few exotic species, and large areas for vegetables and berries. We have two cats, Luna...

Namaste! Welcome to our farm and family. We are established as small organic farmers with our parents since 1995, working with Himalayan Permaculture Center based in Surkhet (western part of Nepal). We are a permaculture family with two generation, three of us have our PDC but we are all invested in our land. We are five and three of us speak quite good English but our parent English is simpler, so you will learn some Nepali! If you want to discover the traditional Nepali lifestyle and learn about culture and festival in the Katmandu valley, and also in the same time learn and share your knowledge about permaculture, you are at the good place! Only fifteen minutes by taxi from Thamel (you can also come by bus). You are more than welcome in this nice place that looks like a village. On our land, we grow many different classic vegetables (Tomato, cucumber, peas, potato, onion, garlic…) and we also grow some cereals (wheat, rice…) using Fukuoka system(No Tilling Farming) and System of R...

Hello potential volunteers, my name is Jessie! I own Green Paradise Lodge in Pañacocha Ecuador and am looking for rainforest enthusiasts to help me here. Potential tasks may include gardening, building projects, and cabin cleaning when we have guests. Some help with our social media and advertising is always appreciated as well! Not much work is expected so there will be plenty of time to explore the jungle trails, and take the canoe adventuring on the river! We ask $150.00 USD minimum as a donation for the minimum of 3 days stay and maximum of a month. Will provide comfortable housing and a kitchen to use. Food is not included but it is very inexpensive in Ecuador. In addition we always have jungle fruits, plantains, Yuca, and fish from our pristine river available! Some wildlife you can expect to see are dolphins, giant river otters, lots of reptiles and amphibians, and many amazing birds and insects. Check out our Facebook page for pictures!

Set in a hidden valley of Woonona, this 1 acre oasis is on a journey from forgotten, overgrown grassland to Permaculture wonderland! We have been practicing aspects of sustainability for over 15 years including Permaculture gardening, sustainable building and creating community. Sarah has a deep level of knowledge about market gardening, soil building and organic food & is a qualified Permaculture teacher. Ben is skilled at building with recycled, reclaimed and natural materials, tending fruit trees and teaching ecology & sustainability. The property is located about 5 minutes bike ride from lovely beaches and 5 minutes walk from local shops and access to buses into Wollongong. It`s also only 1.5hrs from Sydney by train. We spent 2010 WWOOFing around the planet with our two children, so we understand how to be good hosts. We love sharing lifestyle and experiences, so hopefully we can help you explore this wonderful part of the world. The current projects involve a range of gardeni...

We live on a 5-hectare avocado orchard in the beautiful Bay of Plenty, 5 minutes from Waihi Beach. We are looking for people interested in short stays in return for 3 hours of work per day or equivalent, helping garden, cleaning, painting, and/or working on the orchard. We appreciate people helping with dishes, etc., after meals. Wendy works Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, and our youngest daughter goes to school. During those days, you will be left to work by yourself. For that reason, we prefer two people who have transport. We are a Christian household. Chloe, our youngest, has spent six months in France and has been learning French. She speaks French, so if you are still learning English, Chloe can translate for you when she is home. We have a sleepout located next to a tennis court, featuring one double bed, a shower, and a toilet. We also have free Wifi for guests. We have surfboards, and Waihi Beach is less than 5 km away. We prefer people who are not vegetarian or...

A beach front section. Kayaking, body boarding, swimming and fishing available for guests. Accomodation and meals provided in exchange for four hours work a day. Gardening, housework, general household maintenance and painting could be requested. I can collect people from the end of the Taupo Bay road or Mangonui. My preference is for people to stay a week . Taupo Bay is quite a small community and no public transport is available so it is often easier to have your own transport. Certainly not essential as arrangements can be made for collection and support to get to your next destination. Many thanks for looking. Fran

Seven years ago, Tim and I moved to our little farm, and we've been busy ever since; growing a garden, planting trees, and learning how to care for the land. We joined Landcare to better understand the local trees and wildlife, especially the ones that need a bit of extra protection. Tim is a retired engineer and has a knack for designing and building, so he’s been having a great time working on the infrastructure around the property. As for me, I’m a creative arts teacher and public health practitioner. I still teach both online and on campus at an Australian university, balancing my work with farm life. One of my biggest passions here is my rose garden with 400 fragrant bushes, and I'm dreaming of making rose water and rose oil one day. We’ve also got a thriving organic fruit and veggie garden, with plenty of fruit trees and a mix of seasonal vegetables. Our dam is well stocked with yabbies, and we’re just a short stroll from the Murray River, perfect for a bit of fishing. I lo...

We also have Zeb, our three-legged dog (Kelpie, Australian cattle dog.) We have fruit trees and gardens with vegetables and medicinal herbs. We are setting up a new permaculture food forest. We are looking for mature, practical, self-motivated helpers. The work will be varied depending on the weather and season and current projects. These could include, gardening, scrub cutting, gorse grubbing, cutting firewood, (chainsaw experience would be a help) mulching wood chip for our garden paths, painting, basic building, (fixing the accommodation, my sewing studio and building goat sheds), dog walking, tending to animals, track building in our own bush.

I lo...
