In 2005, my husband Terje and I, became the proud owners of this place and we spent the next 15 years renovating the property. Today we offer short-term accommodation in this historical building. Guests come to visit from all over the world. They come to Odda and the Hardanger area to experience and explore our unique landscape with glaziers, fjords, mountains, waterfalls, valleys and lakes. Hey 🌞 Calling in conscious , aware, pro active , conscientious human/s who can take initiative and live and love this place and the animals that reside here , as their own . Essentially this is a long term opportunity that requires energy and input to improve the conditions and life for yourself and future generations. If the dynamics work then I would very much be open to a semi/ permanent situation. I am mostly not going to be here and so this is for those of you who envisage taking on a farmstead and all the things that come with it and so experience with horses goats dogs chickens etc would be a definite must . Plus the ability to live lightly as this is an off grid property . There is ample space for growing a garden , although t the storms earlier this year mean that new fencing is required . If you have building skills there’s potential for paid work and also the opportunity to build a space of your own ….if you are a creative feel free to make your mark … all good energy is ...

You will like it here! We need help in our garden in June and first half of July. We are a little unconventional community of 4 persons (66,65,71,74), 1 friendly dog and 2 playful cats and we live in a cosy house surrounded by a garden. Our children are on their own, but they sometimes visit us. We raise our own organic vegetables in several raised beds and normal garden beds. There is always something to do in the garden and around the house or walking the dog, cleaning windows and so on... We live in a small rural village in the beautiful hills of the "Odenwald". Our village is located roughly between Heidelberg and Frankfurt, also Mannheim and Darmstadt can be visited easily. There is a good public transportation to all these cities. The Odenwald is a famous hiking region and ideal for mountain biking, a bike is available. There is a climbing rock not far from our house. We speak English quite fluently and some French. Hobbits are "little people" with big hearts and big bare feet firmly connected with mother earth. They habitually live "under the radar" of some PC embellished society and try all their best to not succumb to the madness of it. Claiming their birth right to nature's abundance, love, beauty and endless creativity they naturally make up to and make do with the lack of gold caused by the greedy child-eating dragon behind the bare stone mountains.. Hi, my name is Marianne. I live on a classic New Zealand all-day sunny "tree quarter acre of hobbit shire" looking down to Oamaru. If you arrive early enough at my kitchen window or even up on the jungle hill behind the cottage, you can see the sea and watch the sunrise. A 10 minute stroll down Eden Street gets you either to the CBD or to the shoreline. I am providing three basic meals per day as well as a comfortable and quiet room for your stay and to relax after our daily four hours of working together "out there", somewhere on some befitt...

hello, my name is Steven. my wife and I are living in this small rural town for 20 years and we know the surrounding area very well. I work as a health professional in the town. so we usually quite busy may only take you out to nearby tourist spot on weekends. Near Hamilton, there are mountains, hot springs, waterfalls, and beaches. It's about a three-and-a-half-hour drive from Melbourne. the land of my home is about one acre in size. Because I'm busy most of the time, there's a lot of grass that needs mowing, and some trees that need pruning. I have two cats, so their litter needs to be scooped every day. If you come in winter, you might need to light the fire place. There's a fire at home for heating. Yes, we burn large chunks of wood in winter. we have massage chair, red light therapy unit and a small oxygen chamber in TV room. As for cultural exchange, since I'm Chinese, I still maintain Chinese living habits. we also have rich life experience and knowledge, so if you're intere...

We grow organic table grapes, a few fruit trees, chickens and a few pigs. This is a real farm experience, mostly working in the vineyard, with some fun too. There is biking to town, swimming in the ocean or our lake, fishing, basketball, volleyball, hiking, nature walks, beach strolling and look for fossils at Blue Beach, camp fires , rope swing in our little lake, take in the fantastic views, sunsets, star gazing, internet, phone and go to nearby towns such as Wolfville and Hantsport as well as the rest of the Annapolis Valley with the local bus. I am looking to find one or two people to assist me with my camel rides business on rhe weekends and help with the training on camels in harness during the week . To be suitable for this opportunity you must have some large animal experience.I can offer free accommodation which is a self contained bus with its own shower and toilet, included is power and free WiFi.As well as free accommodate you will be given $200 per wk for food. This can be quite hard work at times but very rewarding when you see camels learn and begin to understand what you are teaching them. For your safety you must be able to speak and understand English, as it can be a challenging fast pace environment where you must be able to understand my instructions. If you think you fit this profile and an opportunity to help educate these camels, contact Peter for more information.

This is ideal for people who would enjoy the social and cultural buzz of the city within easy walking distance, while also being close to two charming harbour beaches and some great walks. It’s a good arrangement for you if you value your own private space whenever you want it, but also enjoy a stimulating environment. Our comfortable inner city 117year old Victorian villa is a two minute walk to Ponsonby Road. Accommodation is self-contained, and our HelpXers have invariably found it to be an ideal arrangement (see guest room photos). You have your own separate entrance, private garden balcony, one bed ( a generous double) , kitchenette with microwave, hot plate, toaster and small fridge, dining table/desk, laundry machine and spacious ensuite bathroom/toilet. We are a multi-generational, multi-cultural family living on a peaceful rural property just outside Dundalk, overlooking Dundalk Bay with the Cooley Mountains with its forests and walks behind us. It’s quiet and natural, but still close to town, with a local pub a short walk down the lane. We share the space with two friendly dogs and enjoy a simple, outdoors-based way of life (hiking, cycling, kayaking). Professionally we are a retired fashion designer, a primary teacher and an organisational and leadership development consultant. We rennovated our own house while camping on the property. You’ll be staying in a designer-renovated mobile home set slightly apart from the main house, so it feels private and quiet, surrounded by fields. It’s been thoughtfully redone and is very comfortable, with Wi-Fi, a TV, a complete kitchen, and an en-suite bathroom with a large walk-in shower. We have been fully vaccinated and will welcome helpers who have also been fully vaccinated. My niece and I have a scenic country home on two acres with spectacular views of rolling hills. There are excellent hiking and biking trails nearby, and beaches of Lake Simcoe are only 20 minutes away by car, one hour by bike. We will be happy to drive you there. Two bicycles and high speed WiFi is available. We have two dogs and two cats. We are located one hour north of Toronto - accessible by Go Transit to Newmarket, where we will pick you up. On your days off, we will gladly take you to Newmarket to catch the train/bus to Toronto. We can do the cooking but are happy to share the cooking, and will welcome any specialties you may have. We do not cook vegan or gluten free. If you are vegan or gluten free, then you should probably look for a different host. Hello Helpxers, I generally host between 2 and 4 people to help me out on a beautiful farm I have just bought in South Wales. I have bought this place to run as a retreat centre but I am also wanting to slowly build a self sustaining community. At the moment I am specifically looking for people to be here over the summer months. From the end of May to September (unless you are interested in volunteering for a retreat too - see below). Help atm needed on the farm, maintaining the veg patch and flower beds, campsite and b&b, wood prep - chain sawing, general farm maintenance, building work (building some infrastructure for the campsite), sorting some broken tiles, grass cutting - an anything else you might notice! The B&B at the moment is not busy but hopefully will pick up. Campsite is not yet going but hopefully will be by June. Also help in the house mainly keeping it clean and cooking. I am also looking for some volunteers specifically for a yoga retreat I am running from 27th - 3...

We have an old corn & saw Mill (1800's) in the beautiful Kildare / Wicklow border in the East of Ireland which we will be restoring. We currently live alongside the mill in the workers cottage and we have started to restore the cart house on site. We have a keen interest in Heritage crafts and have set up a blacksmith forge on site. We are looking for a helper who would like to stay and help us out with some of the garden tasks and the restoration of stonework on the cart house. In exchange we can provide accommodation and meals and an introduction to blacksmithing and stonemasonry. Someone with adequate strength for stone work and using garden machinery need only apply! The Mill is located on the edge of a small village which has a cafe and pub within walking distance. There is also a bus stop nearby that takes you to the local town Naas/Carlow. Hello, thank you for looking at our listing. After a little break from hosting we're looking for helpers for April - October 2026. We are Cathy (47) and Leo (who is 14 years old.) We live in a lovely, but messy little cottage in a very beautiful glen. We are semi-off-grid and at the moment there's several issues with the plumbing so please do not apply if you need a daily hot shower! We like to have several helpers so friends are welcome to apply, alternatively we are happy to take single travellers - but please be aware you may need to share a sleeping area with other helpers (who we will ensure are the same sex and similar age to you.) The accommodation is extremely basic, the house is in disarray and I currently resemble a headless chicken for much of the day! Only apply if you are comfortable with untidiness and disorder. However, despite this you will have fun, be well fed and happy. The gardens and surrounding countryside are beautiful and peaceful, so escaping the crazines...

Gardening, housework, light mechanical, a bit of hunting, all sorts of things, never boring.A wicked sense of humor is a good asset to bring. handy to Routeburn and Greenstone tracks. You will need your own internet connection as I don't supply wifi. A bit isolated, not for the precious, no trophy hunters!! Please don't apply unless you intend to come for a minimum stay of two weeks. One person only. We do not get involved with internships or visa applications. Vegetarians and vegans would probably not be comfortable as we eat meat daily. I am off grid and totally dependent on solar, so you have to charge your devices during the day and definitely no hairdryers! Accommodation is a house bus in warmer weather or a room in the house in winter, not shared usually. Lastly I also play the guitar (badly) and sing (worse) but it's all about smile not style :-) Cheers Al

This is for those of you who plan ahead. We are full until mid July, right at the start of our best fishing season and in the middle of our best weather when at least some of the time we should be cutting great timber from unwanted trees using a 26 inch/56cm bandsaw. So anyone who loves fishing, snorkelling on inshore reefs and is good at DIY or carpentry and loves the simple, quiet, rural life by the beach, next to the rainforest, this is for you 🤗. We appreciate help with DIY construction, repairs and maintenance, timber work, boat work, metal work repairs to trailers and for help with gardening, housekeeing, cooking, duck and chicken rearing and dog walking on the beach. Fishing, snorkelling, and rainforest walks can help occupy your spare time. We are looking for reasonably good DIY handymen and women, capable of working effectively, when necessary, on your own or as a pair and, ideally, someone who also has some gardening experience, but that is not really necessary, learn o...

You are welcome to help us for minimally three weeks starting in June. At the moment someone who enjoys cooking is particularly welcome. You would be of great help if you would cook one vegetarian meal a day (not in the weekends) for the three of us: you, Astrid and Thomas. We have no supermarket at hand for forgotten ingredients, so you have to like it to be creative with what is available. ======================= Who are we looking for? The helper (in exceptional occasions two) we are looking for likes to live a basic almost primitive life, and enjoys being outside. Enjoyed nature as a child already? Then you will find our place a wonderful playground. We ask you to help us 25 hours a week. There is some clothing for you but not in all sizes, so please bring your own working clothes, shoes and rainwear. We have had helpers since 2010. Doing all sorts of things and with all sorts of qualities. Come 2026 we realize that what we need is someone who can take simple tasks out of o...

There are several medieval towns and castles around with beau...

The accommodations and kitchen are separate for helpers cooking with an abundance of food. This is a more independent farm stay. Hope you can make it here.

Free wi-fi (within reason!) Beautiful 56 acre mountainous property, completely off grid with a small hardwood house /cottage that I have built using milled wood from trees on the property , with lovely views everywhere . Also doing a lot work to improve the land and infrastructure. There are over 4 kilometers of walking trails through gorgeous forest, on this completely vegan property, with mountainous views all over ranging from 150 to 230 meters above sea level. The beautiful forest trails have old growth national park like forest at the very top. Lots of wildlife to see , with all kinds of exotic birds , including families of black cockatoo’s which live here in the pine’s, and beautiful little kingfisher birds, yellow robins, willy wagtails and kookaburras to name a few. We have recently found koalas living on the property in the flooded gum trees, with many wallabies and goanna’s are everywhere in summer ! Lots of lovely contemplative spots to relax , .
