We are looking for a motivated volunteer (or a couple) to join our small sled dog company from end September onwards, ideally for a minimum of one month. A longer stay throughout autumn and winter would be a real advantage, and if we are a good match, we would be happy to continue the collaboration. This opportunity is probably not for everyone. Life here is simple, physical, sometimes challenging, but incredibly rewarding for someone who truly enjoys dogs, nature and outdoor living. We are a small family-run sled dog kennel with around 40 dogs, 30 chickens, and turkeys, located in Posio, Finnish Lapland, about 20 minutes from Posio village and 40 minutes from Kuusamo. Our daily life revolves around our dogs. We spend our days caring for them, training them, improving our property and slowly building our dream, one project at a time. Our priority is our dogs. Summer openings for some of August Wow, exploring right outside our backdoor along side the Campbell River on Vancouver Island, is a beautiful place to experience Vancouver Island`s great outdoors this SUMMER with all the wild life right in our back yard :) Although we live on a one acre town lot, our back yard is situated on a cliff over looking an accessible beautiful heritage river, with a nature park setting of ferns, Douglas fir, maple and alder trees. You can often see deer, raccoons, bears and the silver backs of salmon and Steelhead fish jumping in the ebb and flow of the river’s pools. We have trail access to the river below, where you can enjoy listening to the sing song of many birds, tubing down the river/swimming in the heat of the summer, and trying your hand at casting for Steelhead fish. We are a waterski club, hosting waterskiers from beginner to national competitive level. The help needed to be done 3 to 5 hrs per day, such as mowing grass, making firewood and regular yard and home maintenance. Our main project is the completion of our clubhouse....we provide clean, private and semi private accommodations, wifi and private washroom. musicians welcomed for I have played guitar and sang in a band for most of my life.

We are looking for helpers from the 27th July and have space for one or two people. We have three small cabins, two with double beds and one with a single bed so room for up to five helpers normally but only room for two at the moment as we have another couple staying. All the helpers share a kitchen and bathroom. From now end of June we need help with some building work so preference will be given to people who already have some skills with tools.. We are a great place to start or end your time in New Zealand as we are only 45 minutes drive from Auckland airport. The work will be varied and interesting but usually building and garden based. It could include finishing off an underground earth bag hobbit hole. We have a passion for earth building and organic gardening. Tena koe, nau mai, haramai ki Tokomaru Bay, a small, predominately Maori seaside community on the East Coast. We live on a four acre lifestyle block in the peaceful Kaiawha Valley about a two minute drive from the village and the beach. There is a 4 Square Supermarket, a cafe and a tavern in the village. We have a room with a queen bed in a sleep out, with helpers own separate lounge/kitchenette. Access to washing machine. The bathroom is inside the main house located a few metres away. Most of the work we require is gardening, landscaping, milking cow, feeding animals, preserving food, servicing our Bed and Breakfast (List 1 Historic Places building) firewood, weed eating, mowing and general maintenance. Jan is a teacher and does some casual relieving and Bill works from home developing Te Reo Maori learning resources for our local tribe and teaches Te Reo Maori one day a week.
