Cool little Beach Village near Wellington Kia Ora. Opportunity for someone if you want a bit of time out from travelling and you love cats. Ideally you would come next week and spend a few days working with me as a helper doing general house and garden care. Then I’m away from about Dec 21st till about January 10th. So then it’s more of a house sitting job - taking care of house, cats, watering garden etc. There is some paid cleaning work for Airbnb guests available so some experience with that would be helpful. (This is in a different area than where you would be staying). I only have one bed so it would best suit someone who enjoys some peace and quiet and their own company. Everything is provided for the cats and there is a bicycle available to use. If you are interested then let’s have a WhatsApp to see if it’s a good fit for both of us (and the cats). Thanks Angela General info - What’s on offer here. A home and garden in Paekakariki Village on the Kapiti Coast near W...

Update, possible accommodation available for kiwifruit staff. My caravan is available, not fancy but clean & waterproof. I'm a beekeeper in need of assistance, either with the bees directly or not. I'm located 16km South of Te Puke on a property that has a back boundary of native forest. I'm usually able to host people at any time of year, but am busiest in the spring. I currently have building projects happening, as well as lots of painting, waxing new bee frames, and also hands on beekeeping for anyone who is keen. I also keep sheep and cattle on the property here, and hunt deer and pigs in the forest. These grass and forest fed animals form a large part of the menu here, so vegetarians probably won`t be happy with the diet. I cater to lots of herbivores and they all have hooves or paws. The accommodation is a spare room in the house. The house is a late 1800s villa in need of replacement, but it keeps the weather out and I find it comfortable. Housework isn't high on my priority ...

The helper accommodation is a double room in a 200 year old cotswold stone house located in a small village near Stroud. There’s woodland above and it’s in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty backing on to the Toadsmoor valley. The house is 35 mins walk from Stroud town centre. There are a few shops in the village as well as a pub nearby. The house is surrounded with the hills and countryside on your doorstep and lovely views. From the garden...great for forest walks and exploring the Cotswolds. English, Spanish and French is spoken. I have my child with me half the week.. We aim to work an average of 5 hours per day, 5 days p/week in a freedom loving and awake household. The work is varied but currently there are raised beds to make for growing vegetables, a chicken run to make, chickens to feed and care for, gardening, cooking, cleaning , or generally helping with whatever task is being done at the time, though no need of experience as I'm happy to teach techniques. Anyo...

Vets , vet nurses, dog trainers/behaviorists and dedicated animal lovers needed to help take care of the animals on this small and beautiful island. This is a great opportunity to have a hugely rewarding experience whilst making a positive impact on the lives of the animals and the community. We provide free self-contained accommodation and you will be able to sample the "old time Caribbean" on a very friendly, unspoilt island with beautiful beaches.

Our farm has a 2000sqm glasshouse that has a variety of strawberries, chillis and peppers that are grown using organic sprays and utilising predators under the IPM programme. We are a fit and active couple in our 70s who have recently bought a home (2021) right by the water on Lamb Island in Moreton Bay, 30km from Brisbane. It has great views over the bay and has good access to fishing, crabbing, safe swimming and boating. There is a fast and regular ferry to the mainland that takes 20 minutes. There are also several other islands nearby that can be explored including North Stradbroke Island that has wonderful beaches and walks and lots of wildlife including koalas, kangaroos, turtles and dolphin and - from June to October - humpback whales. And we always take our HelpX guests for a sail in our sailboat, Over the next two years we will renovate and paint the home, install new kitchen and two bathrooms. Graham has some woodworking skill but needs help during that time with various tasks and we are willing to give you a comfortable bed, good food and company and access to bathroom and washing machine in exchange for 4 hours help per day, 5 days per week. Hi, it's Barbara here. Thank you for reading my blurb. I have a 20 year vision to turn my 1.2ha lifestyle block into a sanctuary for me, the birds, the bees and anything else living. All this including developing a vegetable garden based on permaculture principals. Currently at year three and I am trying to be organic (apart from the dreaded blackberry). I live by the motto - Don't be afraid of going slowly; be afraid of not moving. So I have grand visions moving forward, and this is where I could do with a bit of help. My section is a work in progress and I would love assistance with some of those transformation processes, as well as day to day garden and house maintenance. Some of the work may include: Tree planting and releasing Setting up water systems Creating gardens and beds Mowing and edging lawns Weeding Making compost bins Feeding the worms Outside house maintenance: like brushing of cobwebs; window cleaning, spouting etc. And of course anything you might bring along? Pain...

Looking for a lovely volunteer to join our family from the BEGINNING OF JANUARY. We are fully booked until the end of December. Please contact us if you are interested (especially if you are a good rider - dressage or jumping or both) to help look after our wonderful animals. YOU DO NOT NEED TO BE A RIDER TO APPLY. You will live as part of the family - during your stay, our home will be your home. We are a married couple living on a property with our DOGS, HORSES and some elderly but treasured chickens. Depending on the time of year, we also run a small scale rescue and rehabilitation centre for hedgehogs. There are stunning views looking out over a Devon Wildlife Nature Reserve and beautiful countryside. We live in a very attractive rural area of Devon on the outskirts of a beautiful old village called DOLTON (please look on "Google Earth") about a 45 minute drive from Dartmoor National Park. Hi everyone ! We started our farm in Martinique 13 years ago. Lately things changed, as Tommaso left the farm to open his restaurant, Celine is opening the farm to hold diy and wellness retreats. After years working like there was no tomorow for a better tomorow we changed our perspective, learning how to take better care of ourselves while proceding with taking care of the land. The trees have grown now, providing shade and fresh air. The isolated situation of the farm (25min by car to the nearest village), makes it a proper paradise, also thanks to the regenerative agriculture techniques starting to bear fruits. Actually it already was a paradise, even when full with thorns and burning sun as it is surrounded by a beautiful forest, a small lake and beyond, the sea. Diversity and catastrophe resilience has been our main design goals, and we learnt a lot from our mistakes, improving each time a little the efficiency of our implementation techniques. We share the space with donk...

We are ceramic artists who live on our 1 hectare property about 20km inland from the beautiful Doubtless Bay area. We run our pottery business from home and look after our organic gardens, small orchard and numerous chickens. We have traveled widely ourselves and hosted travelers for over 10 years with another organisation, so are interested in HelpX for both the cultural exchanges and to be able to share our lifestyle with others while getting some help around the property. We are looking for enthusiastic helpers for help with things around the property such as gardening, wood collecting, cleaning, painting, general maintenance and other tasks depending on the season. In exchange for 4 hours work a day, 5 days a week we will provide you with all meals, but ask that you join in with the preparation, and accommodation in the funky little cabin with it's own veranda.  We will be happy to include you in our lifestyle, maybe you'll be there to go Friday night fishing on our yac...

I can't see the world, but the world can come see me. First and foremost, I want to thank all the helpers who came from United Kingdom-England, France, Belgium, Italy, China, Japan, Australia and New Zealand. Welcome Helpers. We are a family of 5 living in the Appalachian Mountains of West Virginia. Sue is the founder of Peaceful Hollow. Her daughter Ruth moved to the Hollow later as well as her husband Tim and their 2 daughters. Our hollow is quite with no neighbors in sight. There are no city lights, and you can see every star on a clear night! Our homestead consists of three cabins, Sue, Tim & Ruth's cabin and 2 very small Guest Cabins. Also, there is an upstairs private guestroom with private entrance. We have a lot you can be involved in, knowledge to share, friendships to build, and opportunities for growth. Below are our routines and some projects. We would love to involve you! - Caring for our chickens, cat, dog, goats, mulefoot pigs and honeybees. Sue is a fourth-ge...

We are in the process of renovating an old house in the Pyrenees. There is only decorating to do such as stripping paint of walls and woodwork, and repainting. There might be the occasional carpentry to do also, nothing too complicated. We need help 5 hours per day, five days per week. Weeding, pruning trees, making paths. We are looking for help from two strong and healthy individuals to assist with a house redecorating project and gardening, trimming trees, path making etc. This requires physical strength and stamina. Please note, we cannot host anyone with any pre existing health issues, physical or mental (we are not medically trained to manage such conditions). We live in a small village with some shops and a climbing centre and a river just opposite the house. We have a quite a size garden where we grow vegetables, fruit bushes and trees. Here, we have spectacular mountain views on our doorstep, hiking trails through the mountains and forests, cycling paths, and skiing in the...

NON SMOKERS ONLY! I am in LAUNCESTON TASMANIA. I have short-term Helpx vacancies currently available between now and 31st December, then from mid January 2025. I (Yvonne) have a house in West Launceston, it is not a farm, it is a house in a quiet Launceston suburb! Due to my busy life and work commitments (I work part time as an entertainer on the ship 'Spirit of Tasmania') I find it too difficult to have to cook meals and supply food, so I can only offer an arrangement where you do two hours work per day for just accommodation and you supply your own food and cook your own meals. I can also sometimes provide groceries if helpers like to cook a meal to share with the household. If this arrangement sounds like something you would be OK with, do contact me! Helpers assist me mostly in my home with cleaning, tidying & housework, gardening, yard work, weeding and generally trying to make the place a bit more organised and tidy! I desperately need someone to help with 'de-cluttering'!M...

Accommodation is a self-contained studio which includes kitchen, en-suite and wi-fi. We welcome guests, for one week, to help with house and garden for 12 hours per week per guest. We offer accommodation and two dinners - usually Monday and Thursday. You will provide and organize your other meals. Your studio has a kitchen with stove, fridge, and cooking equipment. You will have lots of time to explore our beautiful surroundings and a car is necessary. Most beaches and National Parks are 30 mins away. Our home has an acre of partly native vegetation, organic food garden and chickens. Projects include weeding, mulching, trimming branches and shrubs, etc. Next project is to install gate posts and gates for chicken coop. Thoughtfulness and respect are very important. Non-smokers. Although not frequent hosts, we enjoy the variety, interests, and perspectives of helpx travelers. We have an automotive country workshop where we fix and service cars, 4WDs, trailers, tractors and all sorts of machinery. In our spare time we look after our little farm, some sheep, some cattle and rabbits. We also have a forest where we work and tidy up occasionally. So we are always in need of a couple of helpful hands to support us. We love to get to know different cultures and people. We grow our own meat, fruit and vegetables. Gustav also brews his own beer and makes wine and cider. A mature, non-smoking, self-organized person, preferable not a vegetarian, to give us a hand with house and land, would fit best into our lifestyle. You will have to join into our daily routines: breakfast is at around 7.30 am and then we feed all the animals, especially the hungry dog and work starts at 8.30am. We need to get everyone organized before customers arrive in the workshop. We expect about 4 hours work per day and we offer a nice room with a lovely warm bed, great meals, and a reas...

!Please contact mobile through whatsapp/Telegram/Signal! I travelled on a low budget for several years throughout Australia, New Zealand, Asia, Europe, and parts of Africa often working in seasonal positions, like in fruit orchards, to sustain my travels. I began to spend more and more time in many wonderful places though volunteering in farms and eventually I came to the decision that I wanted to create a little Eden too; Somewhere I didn't have to leave and where I could put my own personal roots in the ground and see how I grew. The project is still in it's infancy but has some young trees in the ground and there is an Almond orchard already established. I am aiming for a sustainable project that positively impacts the environment, creating a food forest, using some permaculture principles and local ideas and I would like to share some of this journey I am on! I have knowledge in some areas like tropical tree care, a good level of English, preparing food, landscape gardening plu...

We are looking for one person or maybe two practical people who can just potter about sorting out some jobs. The jobs I have are feeding animals peacock, chickens, pig. Then I’m keen to find someone to help with some gardening Ive been busy so its a bit overgrown. I’d also like to re-organise my entire implement shed to make a more workable space. Plenty of garden jobs and always clearing and de-cluttering and Pruning. We are home most of the time and just go about doing general jobs on our farm & garden. Would you like to come and join us for a bit? We aim to keep you relaxed, well fed and always included with family activities. It is beautiful here and the Tui’s are here on mass. Cold but sunny. Lots to do before winter sets in so we need to get outside with some help. Our jobs are totally seasonal and changes from month to month, but focus is on improving the garden, outdoor seating areas, making the most of our beautiful outside. We are a working farm with some really fun life...

Hi, my name is Marianne. I live on a classic New Zealand "tree quarter acre section" on a north facing (all day sun) hobbit hill, looking down to Oamaru and from my kitchen window or climbing up the jungle hill behind the cottage, you can see the sea and watch the sunrise. A 10 minute stroll down Eden Street gets you either to the CBD or to the shoreline. I am fully committed to provide three basic meals per day as well as a comfortable and quiet room for your stay and to relax after our daily four hours of working together "out there", somewhere on some befitting project. Five years of my absence have caused damages to house and garden physically and spiritually. In the effort to restore the above, I re-discovered HelpX for finding spirited support for all sorts of quirky and needed manifestations of beautiful visible and touchable things. Despite the incomplete, overgrown outside, with my freshly painted double bed guest room and a completely renovated lounge, I am happy to open m...

Hi there Traveler We are a gay couple (prefer like minded guys or at least open minded guys please) who offer a farm stay with great views and good conversation. We chopped down a pine forest and replanted with Manuka about 4 years ago so it’s starting to look really great, and more native birds are about. Established a wetland reserve as well. Also we are developing another small retreat area that needs assistance with tracks and tree management. Some stock work is all so on offer but we will work with you all the time as it’s safer and more fun. cheers and safe travels Geoff and Declan

Early retired gentleman with wonderful garden. I have many years experience with people staying in my home and enjoy their energy and both learning from them and sharing my life experience with them. I seek people with an good level of conversation English and I also have a preference for energetic and extrovert characters who will bring some new ideas to my life. I particularly admire artists, writers and musicians and am interested in learning about the Buddhist philosophy and any other world views that people may have. I require assistance with keeping house tidy and maintaining garden. The duties are not demanding and just a few hours a week are required. The priority is to have some company and energy in my home. Also, someone to accompany me when traveling would be possible.

Sheep are sheared and stay in te warmth of the barn now, so we need some volunteers to feed the sheep and clean the barn to keep it nice for them. There can be some other extra task Beggi (the farmer) can ask you to do, but still, you'll have free time to enjoy hot spots and swimming pool! We would need people beginning of February so far, but you can of course text even if you're available another time of the year ! Message us on WhatsApp or on HelpX. My WhatsApp number is above. Send me (Caroline, who runs the HelpX) a message! You can also message the farmer directly via my Facebook link below, named after Beggi the farmer's cat! Profile picture is of a cat as well! Where to start? We are a family in the western part of Iceland, at the gates of the Westfjords, Beggi runs the sheep farm. We more than 500 sheep and all possible trouble that can be connected to sheep: fixing fences in the summer, gathering sheep in the autumn, feed them and shear them in the winter and then lambing...

Please message me for current availability 🙂 Hello! How are you? My name is Andy and I've been hosting people for years now with Helpx and other organisations. If you are seeking a true cultural exchange or want to really improve your English to a more advanced level and you are a person with high expectations of yourself or want to be around people who also want to help you, then please read on. I appreciate spending my time with people who like me want to learn more about this strange and wonderful planet we all occupy. I get on with people who are usually self-transparent, with whom I have common interests, who care about others, and like me want to continually learn more about themselves. I have learned a lot from my time hosting people and my journey continues. I am a well-educated person who believes life is a continual learning experience. I like listening to the music of most genres, watching a good movie and watching documentaries. I am interested in matters of technolo...

We are looking for helpers between the ages of 18 to 35. We are a small community of friends working towards a better life in a beautiful part of rural Devon, in the Tamar River Valley Estuary where you will make friends for life. In exchange for your friendship while you are staying here we will endeavour to teach you new skills that will carry you through life. A small farm in a beautiful location! Our farm and home probably date back to pre 1660's, with many additions since. It has been left to go wild for the last 40 years. The river has otters, seals, beavers, salmon, sea trout, and sea bass. With buzzards and owls overhead. There are deer in the surrounding woodland. The aim for our farm is to give the land back to nature and at the same time create an organic food source that we can freely share with local flora and fauna. In this way, there will be enough for us and enough for the animals around us. To do this we have created a sustainable way of living that includes holiday...

Animal Rescue and Sanctuary and Organic Vegan Farm in Central Costa Rica Hello everyone! What we do: We take care of animals, we grow organic food, we prepare and eat tasty vegan meals, we minimize our impact on the earth, and we enjoy the company of our Costa Rican friends and neighbors. We have run a volunteer program for over 16 years, and have had several hundred people come to work with us! Our farm is primarily an animal rescue, rehab and sanctuary. Our doors are open to animals in need. We currently have five rescue dogs, six goats, a pig, a horse, two cats, and two water buffalos. Some came off the streets, some were abandoned, others were injured and no longer wanted. We adopt out what we can, but most are retired and happy to live their lives on the farm. The 3.5 hectare property is covered with many tropical fruit trees, including water apple, mandarin orange, banana (many varieties), guayaba, guanabana, cas, ciamito, lime, coffee and araza. Depending on the season, w...

Anyo...

Our farm has a 2000sqm glasshouse that has a variety of strawberries, chillis and peppers that are grown using organic sprays and utilising predators under the IPM programme. We have not been on the farm very long and are learning as we go and we would love to share our experiences with others and learn off them as well. Our...

In your email contact, please mention your work background and helpx experiences and confirm that ...

You are invited to stay in a nice and peaceful rural enviroment, in the little village "Bentorf" which belongs to the community "Kalletal" (Lippe/NRW) and work around a modern dansk log cabin/house and garden with wood, inside and outside. There are still lots of projects to realise. You can mainly choose between wood work, painting, gardening and cooking. Even if you never have done that before... instructions will be given. Professional tools are provided. Stay as long as you like. My husband and I build the house on our own in 2017/18. Unfortunately Thomas died october 2023. He was a carpenter but most of a beautiful soul und wonderful man. Now i live with our cat Lucy in our house alone. But with very nice neighbours, just a few houses... Kalletal is located near the "Teutoburger Wald" and the "Weserbergland" and is perfect for hiking or mountain biking, or doing the bike trip along the river Weser, which a lot people do- you can use our bikes if you like.

Family owned and operated Certified organic livestock farm in North Central British Columbia is looking for help with the farm for four to five hours per day in exchange for a place to park a camper, tent, or stay in our home, (We also have tents or camper you could use). We have openings after May 2019. Access to clean water source, electricity, internet, phone, laundry facilities and great organic food! We love to cook and try new foods. We are located in the Bulkley Valley with mountains, large rivers, boreal forests and plenty of wild game (black and grizzly bears, moose, elk, deer, etc). You can fly here from Vancouver, drive up, or take the bus. Inexpensive flights are available into Smithers if you book two weeks ahead. Rides into town are not a problem several times per week, our farm is about 20 minutes East of the town of Smithers. Great cross country and boarding or downhill skiing in the winter and lots of mountains, lakes and trails for playing in the summer...
