Seasonally, we also grow egg plant, rhubarb, ginger, turmeric, pumpkin, yukon, artichoke, cucumber and corn, and whatever else we can put in the ground. All of our grown produce is certified organic. My husband and I moved to this 240 acre farm in the South Burnett Region of South East Qld 2 years ago and have recently moved into a purpose built cottage (to reduce our footprint) relying on rainwater for the house and bore water for the gardens and to reduce our footprint further we have installed a composting toilet. 40 fruit trees have been planted and raised garden beds made which is the start of our edible oasis. Next on the jobs list is creating wicking beds from IBC totes and fencing the house yard for our two Jack Russell dogs. Our home and garden are on the beautiful mountain top of Mt Toolebewong. Our home is owner-built rammed earth construction and is surrounded by organic herb and native gardens, berries and fruit trees. We have a table soccer (Fussball) table, table tennis, and a tennis court is nearby. We have an attractive dam for swimming. Our place is about 20 minutes drive from Healesville, and we can pick you up from the bus stop when you arrive. We are close to a major native animal sanctuary and good wineries and the thriving and beautiful Yarra Valley, which we can share with you on longer stays. Work would be five hours per day, five days per week, however we are flexible around that. While staying with me, you need no transport within Oamaru, as nearly everything is in walking distance from my place.
