BULLETIN: I live in a beautiful isolated Tasmanian mountain valley surrounded by world heritage rain forest and some VERY TALL Trees!(but not as big as the Hinoki trees at AliShan in Taiwan!!) Most of my property is a nature reserve, but I have a 2 Hectare orchard, berry garden and vegetable garden which are all useless! The possums, wallabies and birds eat most of these (trees included!) so we live on ice cream and chocolate biscuits instead! Please come and help us eat the biscuits so I don`t get too fat! Oh, by the way, all the Wallabies are called "Skippy" and they don`t mind a bit of apple or banana occasionally. I have been a volunteer host for 18 years and I have had more than 1700(Yes!!!you read it correctly!) fabulous, lovely, wonderful volunteers stay with me. Our farm is located on the coast in Bookara, which is located 20km north of Dongara and 45km south of Geraldton. Dongara is situated roughly 360km from Perth and is a beautiful town. Has its own port also, which is called Port Denison, so twin towns! Port Denison is renowned for having some of the biggest Cray Fishing boats in Australia. They are great to see. Geraldton is a 30min drive from our farm and is a rural city. We are surrounded by some great things, the Midwest has to offer. Our Wild Flowers are one of the best sights to see also, you will see some unbelievable wild flowers thru August and September. We moved here in 2006. Our dream became true. We want to live closer and with the nature. So we started our Hobby-farm which is home 2 Cows, 2 dogs, 7 goats (with babies), chickens, rabbits and pigs in the summer. We also have a big garden. You would help with meals, daily chores, farm work, maintenance and repair, gardens, wood-cutting and farm sit when you feel comfortable to do so. We expect some flexibility with the hours (as farm work is often weather dependent) and some self initiative. There are lots of opportunities to explore the outdoors: hiking, biking, fishing, canoeing, horseback-riding etc. We eat our homegrown/homemade food as much as possible.
