Summer openings for some of August Wow, exploring right outside our backdoor along side the Campbell River on Vancouver Island, is a beautiful place to experience Vancouver Island`s great outdoors this SUMMER with all the wild life right in our back yard :) Although we live on a one acre town lot, our back yard is situated on a cliff over looking an accessible beautiful heritage river, with a nature park setting of ferns, Douglas fir, maple and alder trees. You can often see deer, raccoons, bears and the silver backs of salmon and Steelhead fish jumping in the ebb and flow of the river’s pools. We have trail access to the river below, where you can enjoy listening to the sing song of many birds, tubing down the river/swimming in the heat of the summer, and trying your hand at casting for Steelhead fish. As well, our neighborhood is the access point to many scenic nature hiking, walking and biking trails. The ocean photo was taken a couple of miles from my home and all other photos...

Currently looking for Helpers Prefer Helpers over 25 (non smokers) Hi my name is Anthony and I live in Red Hill with my son Louis. We are located on the Mornington Penninsula just over an hour (by road) from Melbourne. Rolling hills dotted with vineyards and surrounded by the sea, this region is one of Melbournian's most popular "weekend getaway" destinations. Wake up to the singing birds in a log cabin set amongst the tree tops, boarded by an organic apple orchard and fringed by forest. Home to friendly and colourful native bird life and visited by a family of cheeky possums each night. Lovely walks to restaurants, markets and our general store. I have too many projects to handle by myself as I care for my 9 year old most weekends and some nights during the week. The projects are varied and include; clearing vegetation, maintaining the organic vegetable garden, planting native trees and shrubs, splitting wood (by machine), building a wood fired oven, setting up chicken coup, ...

Tēnā koutou, We are a French/Algerian/Kiwi family. We moved to the North of the South Island (Te Wai Pounamou) in 2023 and live on a four hectare property where there is lots to be done. Mathew is into agroecology, permaculture and conservation. He has experience running workshops and leading work groups. Rym is interested in Indigenous knowledge, community development and the disruption of the current economic system. We speak French and English at home. You would learn about the NZ rural lifestyle, agroecology and permaculture techniques, food conservation, pest control, and probably lots more. There are a range of tasks to be done, mainly gardening, fencing work, animal care (chickens and sheep) and fire wood cutting/stacking/moving. Possibly some small renovation tasks for those with the right skills. Tasks will depend on the season and what travellers are comfortable doing, as well as what they want to learn. An awesome 2 bedroom settlers cottage, which was built in the 1860s. It ...

I am an aquatic ecologist who has fortunately been working out of our coastal rain-forest property for 35 years. Driven by strong curiosity, I have recently been developing long-term data sets on the animal life in the forest that surrounds our home, plus on tropical marine fish that are steadily increasing in numbers under the influence of climate change at the nearby very beautiful Seal Rocks area (for details click on my website link below). We have 20 acres with 2 acres cleared and the remainder moist tall forest and rainforest. It is on the coast 3 hrs drive north of Sydney (1.5km from Smiths Lake; 30km south of Forster) See my blog link below to glimpse the accommodation, typical work and fun. We have a 180 squ m vegetable garden at times needing attention which has been enclosed to keep out our friends the wallabies (pademelons), possums, parrots and native bush turkeys. Bush regeneration is another activity as well as assisting in ecological surveys of local rivers when t...

My wife and I own and operate a traditional bed-and-breakfast, and we are also small-scale farmers. Our property is 5 acres (2 hectares), and we grow a variety of fruits on our 100% organic farm. Starting October 1st, we will be looking for help on our farm with pruning, trimming, weeding, mowing, and weed-whacking. There is also light cleaning outside our home (raking leaves, rinsing snorkel equipment, sweeping, etc.). We also appreciate help with indoor cleaning projects. If you are handy and can build and repair things, that is a super plus and moves you to the front of the line 😊. We prefer couples, but we will consider a single person if they are industrious and hard-working. Summer is the peak growing season; it seems that every weed and blade of grass grows exponentially, so we are looking for helpers who will help us maintain our land. An absolute requirement is that I need help weed-whacking the farm because I can't do it all by myself; approximately 4 - 5 hours per week...

Hi there travellers! Please contact me on Whatsapp for a quick reply. I'm looking for some people to do some tree pruning, other gardening and other mostly outside work. There's a couple of leaks in my irrigation I have yet to find. I've always got inside work to do as well, mostly cleaning. So on these cold winter days, we can be busy inside. There's always lots to do. If you are a couple, or two couples even - you are welcome to buy and cook your own food and set your own pace around exploring/helping out in the garden. If you are travelling alone and prefer company you will be welcome to eat with us, and I am happy to set an extra place at the table. It will be expected that you spend more time hanging out with me in my garden(s). While you are here, whoever you are, you will be welcome to participate in our daily life, to learn about how Kiwis live. We have a large property with many apple trees, almond and peach trees, apricot and plum trees, plus lots of gardens. Also a ...

Welcome to beautiful fresh Tasmania. We are a little family living in the beautiful Chudleigh valley on a small property. We grow some of our own vegetables and fruits. We have sheep, alpacas, ducks, chickens and an old dog. We have a teenage daughter and we would like to learn about your culture and share ours eg doing activities like bike riding, making stuff, playing music, drawing and sharing skills . My partner, Paul has a shop in Deloraine that sells old wares, antiques and collectables. There would be some work helping him with shop jobs, like cleaning, polishing, lifting, sorting, all sorts of odd jobs. On the farm we have weeding, sheep poo collecting, pruning, fencing, raking leaves, stacking firewood and whatever needs doing at the time. Jobs are dependent on the weather and the seasons. We would expect you to do 2 or 3 hours work per day in exchange for accommodation and an evening meal (mostly vegetarian, meat once a week is normal). You need to provide your own breakfa...

In July and August we can offer you a warm "home away from home" on 2 acres of gardens in a country setting, just 10 minutes outside Tauranga. It's a bit like Hobbitons Shire meets outdoor gym 😄, as most shrubs and small trees need pruning, wood needs splitting and garden tidy jobs need attention before spring. We have two cats (1 Mainecoon, one moggie hunter), two playful dogs, many fruit trees and lots of much loved outdoor plants, including many NZ native plants. At times we raise our own (friendly) lambs and pigs and do some home processing into hams, bacon etc. Your cottage is mostly just yours, clean and very comfortable 60m2 accommodation separate from the main house with 1 bedroom, a bathroom/shower, own washing machine, a large living area, a nice little kitchen, and wifi. We like 2 people at a time, and for a week or two, depending on work available. You'll definitely want a car to get around. There is always plenty to do with a wide variety of tasks both outside an...

UPDATE. WE ARE LOOKING FOR A COUPLE FOR THE FIRST THREE WEEKS OF SEPTEMBER. We are 10 minutes from Byron and we can see the famous Byron lighthouse from our front balcony. We love hosting Help X guests. We also need help in managing a 6000 sq meter block with a garden that needs a lot of work and a big house that needs cleaning. Our house has views and a pool and spa as well as a media room, all of which, we share with you. If you are over 25, we may be able to lend you a small Toyota Yaris which is registered for free Byron Bay parking in most places. You can use it for short trips into Byron and but you will need to work out how to share the car and petrol costs if we have several helpers staying. Unfortunately, our insurance does not cover younger drivers and without a car, you may find us too isolated as there is no public transport. We ask for 20 hours of work a week not counting cleaning up after meals and when you are leaving, cleaning the studio or your room. ...

This could include general property maintainance, painting, planting, weeding, hedge trimming, dog walking amongst other things. I'm looking for one helper to stay with our family. **Please note we have moved from our current farm to suburbia and commute to farm. We are now on a main bus route and it's super simple to get anywhere.** We are a blended family of two boys (almost 17 & 14), an individual with Downs Syndrome & Autism, and another individual with Developmental delay and other health challenges living together. I'm the caregiver for both of my ladies, who are amazing and lovely to be around. I'm called a Home Share Provider. The agency I work for requires a copy of the criminal record check(police check) you obtained to come to Canada to be allowed in our home. This is entirely for the safety of the individuals I support. Preference is given to farm helpers who want longer stays, as the care of the cows is a bit of a steep learning curve for most people. If you are interested in learning more about farming and artisanal dairy on a small scale, I have a great opportunity for you. We are near Victori...

My property is 10 hectares on the West Coast of the South Island, which starts at the coast with sand beach and sunsets and heads inland 1km through native wetlands and forest. Approximately 20km from Westport, 1km from Tauranga Bay! Public transport is limited? I'm a Certified Plumber and Drainlayer by trade but recently retired to work on property (next stage of life!) I have hosted many people through Couchsurfing over the years! Helpx is a new concept for me I purchased the property which was in need of a lot of work to tidy up, contouring/fencing/and planting trees etc. I'm now into planting out and setting up orchard also clearing introduced plants and replanting with natives. Current projects are building a new cottage for myself which is nearly completed and hope to move in by the end of August! and similar 2-bedroom cottage as a guest house which is also nearly completed just doing the final bathroom and kitchen fitout! both will be total off grid power and water supply. Our project is based on an Irish family farm and aims to support and reinforce good intrapersonal and interpersonal practice in the changing environment of family farming. Help and learning opportunities can include eco projects, teaching, gardening, DIY and building projects, animal care, and help with computers and the internet. Office and computer-based work will be interspersed with on-farm animal care and building care and maintenance, providing a change of pace from more intensive computer work. Help is approximately 25 hours per week, arranged on a mutually beneficial schedule and open to discussion. This can also be an interesting opportunity for someone considering a career change or with an entrepreneurial interest. There is an extensive library of more than 3,000 books together with audio and video courses, with opportunities to explore various psychological perspectives, particularly Jungian psychology. The cultural experience includes living in a rural area with local ...

Animal Rescue and Sanctuary and Organic Vegan Farm in Central Costa Rica Hello everyone! What we do: We take care of animals, we grow organic food, we prepare and eat tasty vegan meals, we minimize our impact on the earth, and we enjoy the company of our Costa Rican friends and neighbors. We have run a volunteer program for over 18 years, and have had several hundred people come to work with us! Our farm is primarily an animal rescue, rehab and sanctuary. Our doors are open to animals in need. We currently have five rescue dogs, five goats, a pig, a horse, one cat, and two water buffalos. Some came off the streets, some were abandoned, others were injured and no longer wanted. We adopt out what we can, but most are retired and happy to live their lives on the farm. The 3.5 hectare property is covered with many tropical fruit trees, including water apple, mandarin orange, banana (many varieties), guayaba, guanabana, cas, caimito, lime, nance, coffee and araza. Depending on the se...

EDIT: We are looking specifically for someone for October/November for the Halloween event and takedown/farm care in November During most of the year the work includes typical farm and household tasks like animal care, gardening, grass trimming, canning/preserving, house sitting if we are away, cleaning of coops, tractor work and/or some building project help. The Halloween event is different - full days which include trailer loading/unloading, construction, using power tools, painting, costume/makeup work, decorating, animatronic setup, and helping to deliver the food and funds collected to the foodbank after the event is over. We've never had a Helpxer regret the experience and all have said they want to come back and do it again one day because it was such an awesome experience! Ideal for enthusiastic and creative people who want to work in a big team environment with laughter, jokes, productivity and a sense of accomplishment for a job well done.

I have room for 1 or 2 energetic, motivated helpers to do odd jobs. Being able to work independently is a must. I offer comfortable private accommodation in my little Cottage which has basic cooking facilities for you to prepare your own meals. In return for approx. 2 hours work daily. If you enjoy the beach, bush, friendly pets and glorious views, then Kuaotunu is the perfect place to be. I am recovering from a operation at present, so need assistance with various tasks, like bringing in firewood, gardening, cleaning, and some projects in and around the 5-hectare lifestyle block. Own transport is a must, I am 2 km from Kuaotunu village, 17km from Whitianga 28km from Coromandel town. Looking forward to hearing from anyone wanting to help me for a few days and are happy having their own living quarters. Prefer a message am on whatsapp. 0276563442

We are a group of friends who decided three years ago to restore a beautiful old village/motel in Jindabyne. We are looking for like minded individuals who are passionate about restoration/building and maintenance, love nature and have a good nature and willing to share a laugh over some good food. We have hosted people from all around the world, including all over Europe, Asia, North and South America. The motel is a 5-minute drive from local amenities such as supermarkets, shops, pubs, and a skate park. From June to September there are plenty of winter activities including skiing, tobogganing, and snowboarding at nearby ski resorts, just 30 minutes away. In summer, there are plenty of hikes, mountain biking, fishing, as well as the beach at Jindabyne Lake, Blue Lake and we are 30 minutes from the tallest mountain in Australia- Mount Koscioscko. Yarrangobilly Caves and nearby thermal pools are about one hour away. Our beautiful site features a serene river, where you can go...

I can't see the world, but the world can come see me. First and foremost, I want to thank all the helpers who came from United Kingdom-England, France, Belgium, Italy, China, Japan, Australia and New Zealand. Welcome Helpers. I live in the Appalachian Mountains of West Virginia. Peaceful Hollow is quite with no neighbors in sight. There are no city lights, and you can see every star on a clear night! Pleaseful Hollow consists of: my cabin,/workshop with a private guestroom with private entrance on the second floor, and a very small guest cabin. My daughter and family moved here much later and have their own home. There is a lot you can be involved in, knowledge to share, friendships to build, and opportunities for growth. Below are routines and some projects. I would love to involve you! - Caring for honey bees, chickens, cats, dogs, one registered pure American Mulefoot boar pig, one gilt pig berkshire-tamworth with spots.. i am a fourth-generation beekeeper and has much ...

Hi We are back from our travels and the cabin has been cleaned ready for you. Please send a message if you would like to book in. We live in paradise. Between the sea & the hills in sunny Te Horo, on the beautiful Kapiti Coast (see photo of Kapiti Island from Te Horo Beach). We've built a comfortable place for you to stay (the purple cabin)... now come & help us keep on top of our glorious acres. We currently only have chooks & cats. We grow much of our food and enjoy a healthy outdoors life. I love making good food for us and our helpers. Our food choices in order are: 1… homegrown, 2… local, 3… organic. I bake amazing scones & cakes. I also make some of our bread & occasionally make cheese. I love to share my food and wish to learn from your food culture. All our jobs are outside so please be prepared for whatever the weather is doing. The vege garden needs a bit of love (weeding, feeding & new planting). The berry cage still has heaps of fruit to give but needs some t...

** CURRENTLY LOOKING FOR HELP** Hi, welcome to NZ, and hopefully to Kōpuaranga, Masterton! Our home out of site of other houses, so a rural experience, views and usually a great night sky are guaranteed - yet still only a ten minute drive to our service town of Masterton which has rail links to Wellington. An easy pick up or drop off if you do not have your own vehicle. We are located just a 1.5 hour drive north of Wellington off State Highway 2. Masterton is central to a lot of walks, mountains rivers and coastline and some beach/ surf communities too. We have a river boundary with trout and eels, and it is great for a speedy dip on the hot days before the nature gets too curious! We have now been on this property for 18 months, so much has been achieved with HelpX travel friends, but we are only half way through... Outside we are building bird rearing pens, raising chickens and sheep, and further developing our produce and ornamental gardens. Inside we are wallpaper stripping...

Would like to learn and look after a vineyard and winery this season, no experience is necessary. Established in 1998 and hosting HELPXers for over 15 years, it is the only certified organic winery in the Perth region. It is situated in the Swan Valley, 7km from Elenbrook and 15km from the Perth airport. The vineyard has 3,000 vines, a large house we live in, a machinery shed, and a winery/distillery on the property. Winemaking occurs during the summer months from January to March. A large, spacious room with a double bed, attached to the house, has a private entrance. Applications for mature couples as applicants are now open. Opportunities for vineyard and maintenance work are available. Couples with Visitor Visas are also welcome. I want (NON-smoking) volunteers who wish to experience domestic, distillery, vineyard, and winemaking work. During the season, there are generally outdoor activities, such as winery and vine work, plus gardening if it is not raining or too hot. Be ...

We ask for 20 hours of work a week not counting cleaning up after meals and when you are leaving, cleaning the studio or your room. ...

We live in a lovely elevated home in a great suburb, a would like to share the experience with the right people in exchange for help in the house, garden, and sometimes the boat. We are a happy and energetic family of three (plus one goofy dog) and while we all have very busy schedules, we also like to help our guests experience all the best that Darwin has to offer. We have welcomed travelers a number of times before, and it has been great :-) We expect three hours of work per day per person, five days a week. Hello We are Ondrej and Lucy, a Czech/Kiwi couple who have been living on our country property for one year. Our home is a lifestyle block with gardens, ponds, paddocks, orchards, farm animals, regenerating native bush and native birds. We are conveniently located just 5 minutes from Māpua and Ruby Bay, 15 minutes from Motueka and Richmond, and 30 minutes from Nelson, and Kaiteriteri the gateway to the stunning Abel Tasman National Park. Ondrej and I have two children, Maika, aged 12, and Toby, aged 9, who both attend the local school. We both work, and as the property is new to us, we have plenty to do to get it organised and looking its best. We are looking for someone who would be interested in helping us with various tasks on our property. This could include general property maintainance, painting, planting, weeding, hedge trimming, dog walking amongst other things. We have a sunny, private, upstairs space for you to stay in which includes a bedroom, bathroom, kitchenoette, and...

A love of Halloween and horror mov...
