Our place in the Far North is an ideal place to begin your New Zealand experience as you will be starting at the top of the country and systematically working south in a way that lets you see it all. Our property is situated close to many of the Far North's beautiful east coast beaches, Kauri forests, ninety mile beach on the West Coast, less than a day's return visit to Cape Reinga, forty minutes' drive from Paihia or Manganui, and fifteen minutes' drive from Kerikeri. We are a fit and active couple in our 70s who have recently bought a home (2021) right by the water on Lamb Island in Moreton Bay, 30km from Brisbane. It has great views over the bay and has good access to fishing, crabbing, safe swimming and boating. There is a fast and regular ferry to the mainland that takes 20 minutes. There are also several other islands nearby that can be explored including North Stradbroke Island that has wonderful beaches and walks and lots of wildlife including koalas, kangaroos, turtles and dolphin and - from June to October - humpback whales. Over the next two years we will renovate and paint the home, install new kitchen and two bathrooms. Graham has some woodworking skill but needs help during that time with various tasks and we are willing to give you a comfortable bed, good food and company and access to bathroom and washing machine in exchange for 4 hours help per day, 5 days per week.
