We live on an alternative lifestyle block with "off grid", barn living. The area is quiet and scenic. The closest cities are Odda and Bergen. The bosses of the house are 4 dogs and 3 cats. Right now I don't have any farm animals of my own. But the neighbor's sheep live here too. I would have been very grateful for various help on my small farm. The work can be very varied. I'm located 16km South of Te Puke on a property that has a back boundary of native forest. I'm usually able to host people at any time of year, but am busiest in the spring. I currently have building projects happening, as well as lots of painting, waxing new bee frames, and also hands on beekeeping for anyone who is keen. I also keep sheep and cattle on the property here, and hunt deer and pigs in the forest. We have an automotive country workshop, which we have closed down to retire and now we are about to tidy up and empty our. 32 years of bits and pieces - and memories. But we still look after our little farm, some sheep and some rabbits. We are always in need of a couple of helpful hands to support us during this time of dismantling and clearing out. A mature, non-smoking, self-organized person or couple, preferable not a vegetarian, to give us a hand with house and workshop tidy up, would be the best fit. Our daily routine starts with a breakfast at around 7.30am and then we feed all the animals, especially the hungry dogs and work starts at 8.30am. We expect about 4 hours work per day and we offer a nice room with a lovely warm bed, great meals, and a reasonable amount of WiFi. Help with dishes is not regarded as work though!
