We are in the process of renovating an old house in the Pyrenees. There is only decorating to do such as stripping paint of walls and woodwork, and repainting. There might be the occasional carpentry to do also, nothing too complicated. We need help 5 hours per day, five days per week. Weeding, pruning trees, making paths. We are looking for help from two strong and healthy individuals to assist with a house redecorating project and gardening, trimming trees, path making etc. This requires physical strength and stamina. Please note, we cannot host anyone with any pre existing health issues, physical or mental (we are not medically trained to manage such conditions). We live in a small village with some shops and a climbing centre and a river just opposite the house. We have a quite a size garden where we grow vegetables, fruit bushes and trees. Here, we have spectacular mountain views on our doorstep, hiking trails through the mountains and forests, cycling paths, and skiing in the...

Hello, my partner John & I, have had a wonderful time sharing our home with volunteers. We now have a vacancy for march/april/may We live as a family & enjoy many things together, with our volunteers, many of whom have become lasting friends. We live in a 4 bed modern dormer bungalow, in a beautiful village, with a shop & bus stop 3 minutes walk from the house. We live with my father, who is 89 years old and has moderate memory loss. My father has Carer’s visiting 3 times a day, to help him shower & take him out for a drive. Volunteers are not involved in my fathers personal care, but My father loves extra company with volunteers, so that he doesn’t feel lonely. My father does like to have volunteers there, to watch television with him, so that he’s not alone. I also need help with keeping the house clean & simple vegetarian cooking. We enjoy sharing simple, international food with our volunteers & have plenty of vegetarian cooking books, for ideas. We have a friendly and...

Our next availability is February 2026, possibly earlier. We are Joanna and Charlie and we live in the Cambridgeshire countryside, sharing our home much of the time with visiting dogs. If you love dogs, the countryside and quiet family life we are the place to visit. We are close to Cambridge but as the last bus is at 7.15 pm not easily accessible if you want a wild nightlife. I often have dogs to stay, so you need to be relaxed and happy around dogs.We go for long walks with the dogs every day so there are plenty of opportunities to enjoy the countryside. Hello there, I'm looking for travellers, nature lovers, people interested in permaculture and a different way of living. I'm Erik, class '88, I live in northern Italy where I've been building a permaculture project for the last few years. I've always been a dreamer, a wanderer seeking adventure and a deeper connection with Nature. After few years of working and travelling the world I decided to start this other journey here 1,5 hours drive from my birth place. As a sensitive person, Healing is a good portion of what drove this life choice into being, as I find it more gentle and sustainable for ourselves and the environment. On a more practical note, the land for now is taken care of for self sufficiency and not as a businness. I can offer food and accomodation in exchange of 3/4 hours of work, 5 days a week.. Most jobs are to do with the garden and the orchard, from planting out vegetables, tree planting, weeding, spreading compost, wood chipping, mulching, all depending on the tim...

UPDATE: Volunteer needed in March-early April 2026 to help clear a pasture from big wild bushes and chop wood. Hello. I’m Paul, a recently retired musician. I live in a mountain area made of rounded, wooded peaks in the inland of the Italian Riviera, at the point of connection between two regions, Tuscany and Liguria, widely renown for art towns (Pisa, Lucca, Florence among others) and picturesque fishing villages. It’s a quiet setting to get away from it all, with a 360 degree view stretching for tens of miles and right down to the Mediterranean Sea, only 25 km/15 miles away. Here is where the Alta Via (High Route of the Ligurian Mountains) starts, a long-distance waymarked hiking trail for nature lovers. I speak Italian (native), English (fluent) and French (fluent). I’m looking for calm-natured volunteers who are self-motivated and good with their hands, willing to help me with general maintenance around my property in exchange for food and lodging in a friendly environment. Currently need some help with mostly gardeni/ outside work and if weather bad some help in house, eg painting. We live in the South Hams of Devon - an area of outstanding natural beauty. We are a retired couple but still run our musical instrument repairs business and we are always in need of some help. We love to play traditional folk music in local pubs. We live in a cottage in a village with a coffee shop and a pub, and close to the water. We are looking for someone to help who is strong and able and thoroughly practical. We have 2 ‘rescue’ dogs - a friendly terrier and a Romanian street dog who takes a little while to get used to new friends. We anticipate help for approx 4-5 hours per day, depending on the task, so overall 20 - 25 hours per week, which can be spread out according to the job being done at the time. We are pretty flexible! We don't need any help with cooking - I prefer to do that myself! We are 3 miles from the sea, lovely beaches and some good surfing and w...

Hello, we are a franco-swiss couple, we live in the North-West of the region called Limousin ( between Poitiers and Limoges) in a water mill which we are renovating for 15 years now. We live in a rural area in the countryside at 6 km from the nearest town, the nearest train station is 22km away and the nearest airport is in Limoges ( about 64 km away). Paris is less than 3hours away. There are some lovely places to visit in the region, especially local villages and towns such as Limoges. Our global aim: go towards more autonomy ( green energies, healthy eating, health by natural methods) and authenticity. We have already set upinstalling a naturopathy practice, 1 guest house, a SPA, production of environmentally friendly energy ( solar and hydraulic), an orchard with ancient and local varieties of fruits, 1 permaculture garden ( organic of course) and small animal parks. We are still in the process of working and building. The Ysabel naturopathic practice, which is located in the mill...

Animal Rescue and Sanctuary and Organic Vegan Farm in Central Costa Rica Hello everyone! What we do: We take care of animals, we grow organic food, we prepare and eat tasty vegan meals, we minimize our impact on the earth, and we enjoy the company of our Costa Rican friends and neighbors. We have run a volunteer program for over 18 years, and have had several hundred people come to work with us! Our farm is primarily an animal rescue, rehab and sanctuary. Our doors are open to animals in need. We currently have five rescue dogs, six goats, a pig, a horse, two cats, and two water buffalos. Some came off the streets, some were abandoned, others were injured and no longer wanted. We adopt out what we can, but most are retired and happy to live their lives on the farm. The 3.5 hectare property is covered with many tropical fruit trees, including water apple, mandarin orange, banana (many varieties), guayaba, guanabana, cas, caimito, lime, nance, coffee and araza. Depending on the se...

We are a family run home, perfect for the 1st time volunteer. Natural horsemanship is a real factor here if you want to learn more. Our mentors being Buck Brannaman, Steve Halfpenny and Ken Falkner. A safe environment for your 1st time away from home. You do not need any knowledge of horses but you do need to love dogs, they are a major part of the family and are constantly with us all 8 of them, dalmations, vizslas and 2 weimararners, and they do jump all over you. Constant appaloosas is a small holding where we breed and train horses for ourselves and occasionally others. We have help exchange programs running throughout the year for interested students of all ages. Vet students get a really good grounding here. What we expect from you, conduct yourself in an open and friendly manner, engage in all aspects of life on the farm and seize all opportunities with enthusiasm, avoid rude and disrespectful behaviour to people horses and dogs. Basically show respect to people and our home,...

We are an operating farm. Mostly silviculture. We farm mostly trees. We are situated in one of the largest Cork Tree areas in the world.Mediterranean forest ecoystems are considered one of the most important ecosystems right after Virgin Forests. We are a retired couple but still run our musical instrument repairs business and we are always in need of some help. We love to play traditional folk music in local pubs. We live in a cottage in a village with a coffee shop and a pub, and close to the water. We are looking for someone to help who is strong and able and thoroughly practical.
