Hello, I live with my mother and stepfather on a lifestyle property in Waipapa, Northland. Our property is on a kiwi bird zone and we hear them most nights; dogs and cats aren’t allowed so the native bird life flourish on our property eg Tui’s. We are 10 minute drive from Kerikeri; a lovely rural town with many kiwifruit, lemon and mandarin orchards, farmers markets and historical and natural attractions. A good location to access the beaches of northland or visit the historic town of Russell or Paihai beach. Require helper for household duties, care work and light gardening. I need help with basic personal care (setting up for meals eg juicing or heating food, making the bed, doing washing, ironing, doing the dishes, passing things, light cleaning and chopping vegetables). I am flexible with the hours - options to work a mix of morning, day and evening in a week. 21hrs per week (3hrs per day equivalent) - can do the hours across 3 or 4 days or across 7 days (depending what suits y...

Update. We have an unexpected need for a couple of helpers from May 12- May 24th Please message me if you are interested in us hosting you for this time. In our normal hosting experiences, no experience is necessary. However, if you have special such as pruning, landscape gardening, pool maintenance or floor tiling please let us know. Mostly, however, helpers do not have these skills and we host helpers who are willing to work in the garden doing such things as mulching, weeding, planting or helping with housework and usually, we accept requests close to when we need them. We enjoy the company of young people from other cultures and we have already learned a lot from hosting some amazing helpers. We think we are positive, open people. We want helpers who are able to take initiative when they see something that needs doing. We live on 6000 sq meter block with a garden that needs a lot of work as well We live 10 minutes by car from Byron Bay in a house with beautiful vie...

I am in the Madonie Park. It's a small experimental farm. I chose to get out of the city routine and come and live in the Madonie park surrounded by nature. the house is big enough and comfortable. I offer volunteers an independent room and a second bathroom. I have some animals: a mare, a donkey, 5 dogs, 12 goats, 10 hens, 1 cat. I need help taking care of the house, in the care of the peaceful animals, some gardening work. During the milk period I milk some goats and produce the cheese, yogurt and ricotta. Sometimes I like to cook together with my guests it's definitely a cultural exchange. Ros' languages are basic Spanish and Portuguese and very bad English. I like to wake up early and work, animals don't like to wait. The daily tasks are carried out calmly .

Purpose built oceanfront B&B with 3 private self-contained studio suites on the 2nd floor of our home which is on the first floor. We are rated highly on TripAdvisor. Enjoy canoeing, kayaking, biking & hiking at our waterfront B&B. You'll have your own private room. If you have a valid drivers license, and are staying for at least 2 months you may use one of our cars. This requires a discussion, and is on a case by case basis. April through October (Summer) Cleaning rooms. gardening, yard work, helping around the B&B with all aspects of running a home-based business including serving breakfast. Must be physically fit to do this. Crewing on our boat is optional if you like it - not everyone is comfortable being on the ocean. Here is what a typical summer day looks like. About 1/3 of our guests purchase breakfast. On those mornings 7:30 am we're in the kitchen preparing breakfast. 8:45 - 9:30 serving breakfast to guests and interacting with Q&A and booking a few excursions. On days w...

My little farm on the West Coast is rural with the closest towns being Hokitika 70km and Greymouth 60km away. A shuttle bus travelling from Christchurch to the Coast and vice versa can drop you off or pick you up at Jacksons, and by arrangement you can be picked up or dropped off there. The farm is 27 acres in total and currently there are around 20 sheep grazing the land. The property, which is alongside a small lake, requires work, including vegetable gardening, cleaning up after floods, general maintenance, tree planting, weed removal, cutting back reeds, wood chopping and stacking, and fixing fences among a variety of other jobs. My home also needs to be spring cleaned inside and outside as I am unable to do many activities now due to a recent medical condition. Ordinary pedal bikes can be provided but having a vehicle may be advantageous as there is no public transport to get places. There are also canoes to use for bird watching, exploring, going swimming, fishing, etc. Accom...

Hello travellers, and a warm welcome to beautiful Olinda - I am Vita and delighted to host you. **Currently seeking Helper/s who can work in the garden or use a chainsaw to cut fire wood. Or a carpenter who can help repair weather damaged external timber windows. Or someone with mechanical experience to service chainsaw and lawn mowers. Or a Helper with sewing skills and can use a sewing machine. Or a helper who can restore and refinish furniture. I appreciate self-starters and Helpers with initiative, who do not always need to be told what to do and are capable of putting in a full days work. Weeding and garden work is always a go-to if you are waiting instructions. Helpers will sometimes be left to work by themselves as I don’t always have time to supervise them. Therefore, Helpers who can help with l...

I am looking for two or three helpers for a week or two in May, starting as soon as possible. Warm greetings from rural Byron Shire. I have hosted helpers regularly to help me to clear and tidy my sloping one hectare garden, which continues growing vigorously. I would welcome a couple or two or three friends to work with me for a week or more. No particular experience is necessary, but any practical skills might be useful, and reasonable fitness is needed. I’m happy to share my own skills with willing helpers and will be working with you. Three to four hours of work per day in return for plentiful food and drink, and your own comfortable accommodation in my guest bedroom(s). Although it can be warm in the summer months, the pool is pleasant and helpful for cooling off! However, it’s now pleasantly cooler for work. I live in the Byron Bay hinterland, with my dog Rosie, in quiet country with ocean views and sightings of numerous wildlife. I come from England but have settled in Au...

Our 5 acre property is located on the beautiful south coast of WA, between Denmark and Albany. Only a few minutes drive to the beautiful Cosy Corner Beach and Shelly Beach. We like to show our helpers around the wonderful area in which we live and If time permits we often take them on a 4WD adventure to the magnificent West Cape Howe National Park, which is on our doorstep. We are both practicing artists Helen works from her home studio and Duncan is a sculptor who works from his home studio/shed and also on location when creating public art, he is also a stonemason and historic restoration mason. We have 2 young Jack Russell x Cavalier dogs, Pablo and Frida (siblings) ,who love people and are lots of fun. We require some help around our property such as gardening, mowing and whippersnipping as well as some housework. We are the best of friends who live together and run a 24-hour restaurant in Oneonta, New York. We built our Deli with our own hands, using old rustic barn wood and other recycled materials. We love working together to serve good, wholesome food in a warm, encouraging environment — a haven from the storms of life. Our community is part of a worldwide network of communities, many of which also run restaurants, organic farms, and cottage industries where volunteers are also welcome to live and work with us. We all work together in our houses and at our Deli. There is a lot to do in maintaining a community. We have two large houses where we live and the Deli always needs constant care and attention. We enjoy having guests and volunteers who want to get to know us by living and working with us. We gather together every morning (at 7am) and evening (at 6pm) to express whatever is on our hearts. We sing a wide variety of songs we've written and we dance there to express our joy. We give...

This homestay is best suited for a single female only and is currently booked until 7 June 2025. We are a South African family of four, with two girls in primary school, looking for a female helper. We can offer you homestay accommodation for a few hours of help/work per day. We are an easy-going family and would love to have a fun-easy-going person join our household. Both of us are working full time and would need some help with our children before and after school as well as help with some chores in and around the house. Our children are literate in both English and Afrikaans, and our family would love to offer you a taste of our hospitable South African culture!

Kia ora travelers! My whare (home) is in the middle of beautiful valley, surrounded by native rainforest, birds and organic gardens. We build this eco house using local clay (adobe in-situ), green roofs, and much help from volunteers. We did a lot of 'woofing' ourselves, before settling here in the rural Far North. A quiet area, perfect to enjoy nature and country living. The closest shop, the famous "Bush Fairy Dairy", is 7 km away, Taipa Beach 20 km, and Auckland 350 km. If you have no car, I can pick you up from the bus station in Taipa. I am part of the Honeymoon Valley Landcare Trust. We protect native forest, birds, lizards and insects by trapping predators and eradicating invasive weeds. You could help me with organic/permaculture gardening: vegetables, flowers, herbs, fruit trees, mowing, brush-cutting, compost-making, maintenance and fixing things (basic carpentry, painting), sewing, cleaning, chopping firewood, etc. I have chickens. My neighbours brings their cows over to mu...

Hi travellers. this is a different kind of offering, it could be just help out with general chores on a self sustainable hobby farm for a few weeks to long term house sitting gig to potential land mate. Dragonfly Farmz is the name for a unique set up in a semi remote valley in the Interior of B.C., approx 50 mins from Williams Lake. The farm is home to two horses, three big friendly dogs, three cats and some chickens. Most of the food is produced on the land here, we have a large garden and a geodesic dome greenhouse, if you are interested in how to live off the land, this is the place. During COVID the self sustainability was getting amped up here. Simone is on the shamanic path and has lived on three continents throughout her life. By trade she is a graphic designer, artist and potter, but mostly she is committed to helping people reconnect to spirit and nature. This farm operates mostly outside of the system and in tune with the earth energies. It is also the setting for shamani...

We -- two men, and sometimes our 33-year-old son Etienne, and sometimes an old HelpXer or two who are still coming back -- live in a beautiful old log house on a traditional, self-sufficient, Kootenay homestead. We've generally got chickens, sheep, ducks, gardens, fruit trees. We're in a small community surrounded by wilderness: Argenta is a friendly place of 120 people — Quakers, hippies and just folks — on the northern tip of Kootenay Lake, at one end of the Earl Grey Trail. (You can walk here in four days from Invermere, or come the more usual way by road!) There's always farm work (gardening, animals, preserving food and lots more) and lots of projects (building, fencing, wilderness trail building...). And, depending on the season, there's hiking, fishing, canoeing, sailing, skiing, skating and skinny-dipping (yup, lots of naked people here) in one of our ponds or in Kootenay Lake. We have a lot of homesteading experience and are very happy to share it. If you're interested...

Each of us have arrived here one by one, at first just interested in helping out in the place, and then as we found that this lifestyle was for us, deciding to stay for longer. For part of the year we also have a couple of employees staying with us. There is also a wonderful dog named Dali. Our organic nursery and garden occupies a land of 9 hectares, surrounded by forest. I'm Julie and my partner Charles and we are an older (in age) couple living the dream and have a small slice of heaven in the Tweed Caldera surrounded by a lot of Australia's wildlife. Our place is 26km inland from Murwillumbah. It's a 45 minute drive from Gold Coast airport, just over the Queensland border. We are 900kms north of Sydney. It is a 1 hour 20 minute flight to Gold Coast (OOL). From Sydney to Murwillumbah by bus takes 15 hours. When not working we travel to SE Asia and bush walk our local area. We are both accepting of all and our mantra is 'Peace, Love and Understanding'. There are no rigid helping hours or conditions. Jobs are dependent on weather conditions and what needs to be done at that time and what helpers would like to get involved with. Julie is multi skilled and talented in lots of areas. Conversation is never dull! Charles was born in Scotland and lived in Canada before coming to Australia. He also has a wide range of interests and skills. You name it,...

We have a basic but lovely country home located by the Rangitikei River. We are about 25 minutes from the nearest shop in Hunterville as well as our local pub which is located about 10 minutes away. My husband and I have a 2 year old son Joseph and a new baby Makayla born September 2024. We do our best to live off the meat that we hunt and the vegetables we grow. I'm looking for someone to help out with our veggie garden and with general work around the house or with projects that I might be doing at the time of your stay. Our roof is currently in need of some repairs so if you are someone that is interested or has experience in roof repairs then you would be a great fit however if this job wouldn't suit you then there's plenty of other chores to do. You'd be looking at around 4 hours of help per day in exchange for food and accommodation. We live on my husband's parents Deer, Sheep and Beef farm. We have 2 pet dogs and a few working dogs as well as some very friendly pet sheep. Ch...

We have been traveling and are back with new ideas and enthusiasm. Its the perfect time to visit the coromandel, the days are still warm but not so warm you cant get out of the shade. The nights are cooler and easier to sleep, the weather is still pretty settled and predictable. We are working on our new shed. The trees are down and the digger has done its thing. There is some weeds and scrub to clear but the worst of it is out of the way so we can start smoothing and planting fruit trees and shelter trees. We always want to build tracks into the forest, there are two more waterfalls and our favorite glow worm site that do not have tracks to them so some adventures await for any that want to get lost in the bush on a nice day and clear a path. Loads to do, and still need to make more cheese because who doesn't want loads of cheese. The farm is 26 hectares of remnant and regenerating native bush with its own stream with waterfalls and swimming holes. This is located in the beautif...

I have a very comfortable guest room in my small house on beautiful Magnetic Island. Maggie is situated in the World Heritage Marine Park. The house is nestled in a native garden and backs on to a seasonal creek. I have many native animals around so be prepared for that. 🙂 I would like to host helpers who like to chat about their travels, experiences and home country and who are keen to learn about Australia. I’d get you to help with whatever I’m doing at the time - mostly gardening type work probably. Maybe weeding, pruning, planting, mulching…… maybe helping me with a bit of cleaning……. More than likely, I’d be working alongside you. I'd ask for you to give two hours per day of help. What time during the day could be flexible - depending on the weather and your or my plans for the day. I'd be open to stays of between 3 and 5 nights. I do have a lot of visitors and travel myself quite a bit, so the timing would be a matter of availability and negotiation. Get in touch if thi...

Hi, I'm Oriol. I'm looking for helpers to live in my house while I'm away. I can take care of my home and feed and care for the three well-trained and docile horses that live in the fields on my property. I'm usually away for a month or two in the spring and summer. The house is very cozy; it's an old traditional Catalan farmhouse, which I, along with the occasional helper, have restored together. I offer lodging and a basic supply of non-perishable food. Your mission will be to keep the field where the horses live clean of manure and feed the horses fully with hay and alfalfa, which I will provide. They have a watering trough with constant water that needs to be checked regularly. there is cats to feed to. It's important to meet you and explain all the details before I leave on my trip. The house is well connected by road, and the train station is a 15-minute walk from the house. There's a supermarket 3 km away, a 45-minute walk.

Hello, I live with my mother and stepfather on a lifestyle property in Waipapa, Northland.

We live in a small cottage with two small dogs, one cat and geckos. We need help with the dogs, gardening and general household duties. Flexible hours, good food and own small room with fibre wifi. Quiet spot in a fabulous tourist zone with plenty to see and paid work available. My partner needs to go back to Germany for 4 months, May 6 to September 9 and I need help with household and dog walking duties.Ideally I would like somebody who enjoys working with dogs and has their own transport. I am only taking people who have their own transport.

(La description en français se trouve plus bas !) *UPDATE FOR JAN-FEB-MARCH 2025* **We are presently looking for 1 HelpXer with experience in construction/manual work to help organize the garage and deconstruct an old barn!** We are a small Buddhist community living in the forest close to Sainte-Julienne, Quebec. We have an organic fruit tree nursery, along with many other projects on our land: several fruit orchards, chickens and bees, growing our own vegetables and herbs and trying to be independent in many ways. The six people who are staying are: Ajan, Eric, Veronique, Elisabeth, Natalie and Camille. As well ...

We are a small family run cattle farm. We live in a beautiful part of the world with a very refreshing and clean river running through our property right on our doorstep and many beautiful places to visit nearby. Aside from the cattle we also have many other animals including sheep, chickens, horses, dogs, cats, guinea pigs and fish. Our family is Michael and myself, our 2 children 8 and 6 years old and my mother Liz. We are looking for some help around the house and gardens , including some house cleaning, weeding, pruning and looking after our vegie garden and watering. Ideally looking for someone who likes to cook and share cooking meals, is great interacting with kids and animals and enjoys a quiet setting away from town. We have a small fully furnished granny flat suitable for single or couple and share main bathroom in main house. We live 30 km from the closest shops. Having your own car would be a great advantage for yourself to explore the area in your spare time but not essenti...

We own properties in Opotiki and Whanarua Bay, dividing our time equally between the two. With summer approaching and dry weather on the horizon, we're looking for help with various tasks around our properties. We need assistance with general spring cleaning tasks outside such as pruning, gardening, washing buildings, lawn mowing, etc. In exchange for 4 hours of work per day, we offer accommodation, meals, and free Wi-Fi. Our property also features one sheep named Mary, along with several hens and Indian runner ducks. If needed, we can arrange pick-up from the bus station.
