Lifestyle farmstay helpers - we are looking for someone now until end of August. We are a couple in our 50's that live on a lifestyle property under the wonderful Mount Tamahanga, near the Te Araroa Trail. We have a cat, chickens and some sheep. Half of our land is New Zealand native bush that is busy regenerating, the other half is pasture and gardens. Big Omaha is about 1hr +\- NE of Auckland. We are keen to have someone for work on our property ie, tidy up of the property, weeding, mulching, planting, gardening, etc. The property has a lot of clearing to be done, quite a few planting projects and although not organic we like to consider permaculture on our land. We would like to do one project at a time with your stay at least a couple of weeks or more. We are looking for anyone who is fit, has initiative, willing to work in all weather, can complete a job to a good standard and who is comfortable getting their hands dirty. We have a small but warm, comfortable home where you'll j...

Please read our profile carefully, and see our website and instagram. If you feel you are the right person or people for us, we look forward to receiving your application. This is a permaculture small farm on the edge of Violet Town, just 800m from the train station. The farm is well established, as most tree planting was done between 1996 and 2000, and the tree crops are well maintained and productive. Murrnong has a large established fruit and nut orchard, an olive grove, vegetable gardens, chickens, milking goats, bees, forestry for shelter and timber, and large dam for irrigation and swimming. Our house is made of timber and mud brick, and we catch our own water. Most of our food comes from the house garden and farm, including a huge range of fresh fruit all year round, a range of vegetables for each season, honey, cheese, olive oil, table olives, and home killed or hunted meat. We eat shared meals, most meals are vegetarian. Type of jobs: farm and garden work, combined with l...

HAPPY SUMMER 2026 Things have been moving along, slow but meticulously! It feels good to be making progress and I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel…on my sailboat. I am taking some time off until late July and then begin working on my sailboat again. There are plenty of volunteer opportunities; a lot to do, at any skill level. Many projects take only 5-30 minutes to explain and easy for someone new to do the specific project well. Other projects require knowledgeable skills and other projects necessitate someone that has a fair amount of specific experience. Anyone that volunteers on my sailboat can join me sailing once my boat is back in the water later this year or at some other point in the future! I anticipate my boat will be back in the water by mid to late Autumn. If this interest you, or you have questions, contact me through HelpX or call me direct via my mobile phone (also WhatsApp number). Below is a list of some of the projects I hope to complete ...

This is a mountain hut immersed in Italy's largest protected park, at 1300 meters, in a forest on Mount Pollino. Managed by an official guide of the park, we organize excursions, canyoning, hiking, climbing and horseback riding throughout the park. The refuge consists of five rooms (with bathrooms) for a total of twenty beds. Kitchen and dining room in common. Helpers sleep in a room that they share together. In spring, summer and autumn volunteers are welcome to take good care of the refuge. Cooking, fixing the roof, gathering mushroom, cutting wood or making guests practice their english :) In winter... write me if you like snow!

I am an aquatic ecologist who has fortunately been working out of our coastal rain-forest property for 35 years. Driven by strong curiosity, I have recently been developing long-term data sets on the animal life in the forest that surrounds our home, plus on tropical marine fish that are steadily increasing in numbers under the influence of climate change at the nearby very beautiful Seal Rocks area (for details click on my website link below). We have 20 acres with 2 acres cleared and the remainder moist tall forest and rainforest. It is on the coast 3 hrs drive north of Sydney (1.5km from Smiths Lake; 30km south of Forster) See my blog link below to glimpse the accommodation, typical work and fun. We have a 180 squ m vegetable garden at times needing attention which has been enclosed to keep out our friends the wallabies (pademelons), possums, parrots and native bush turkeys. Bush regeneration is another activity as well as assisting in ecological surveys of local rivers when t...

We are a cultural and arts community that is working towards being self-sustained. The community is situated in the mountains of Monchique, Portugal surrounded by nature. Our community provides an alternative way of living with permaculture gardens, farm animals, sustainability projects, and arts and cultural workshops. It is a great place to come to meet other like-minded people if you are passionate about sustainability and alternative living. We hold community meetings throughout the week alongside activities and workshops, such as quiz nights, dance nights and yoga classes. If you have something you are passionate about and want to share with others, we would love for you to run a workshop. One of the best things here is the variety of tasks you can do as a volunteer, which gives you the opportunity to learn new skills and discover what you enjoy doing most. We have a combination of short-term and long-term volunteers and on average we have between 10 to 20 volunteers and resident...

Bis Juli 2026 kein Platz zur Verfügung Hi helpers, we are a lively family of five, but our children are grown up (33,36,38) now. And we have 5 grandchildren,0 , 6, 8, 10, 13years. We enjoy having people from other countries staying with us. Our oldest daughter went to New Zealand and joined helpX as a helper. Some years ago in January, our second daughter went to Australia for 3 month and she had also a lot of very good experience as helpx. So we thought it is a good idea to offer our lovely home for helpers. We are living in a forest with a big lake infront of our doorstep. We have got chucks, cats and of cause fish! Our home is close to the river "Elbe" and the area "Altes-Land", a region which is famos for growing fruit trees such as apples, pears, cherries, plums,... The closest city is Stade, where you can find a lovely historic city center. Also the way to Cuxhaven, Hamburg and Bremen is only 1h to 1:30h. The next train station (S-Bahn) is only 1...

I usually live in Australia with my husband but have returned to Japan to look after my 100-year-old mother at her house in Yokohama, an hours drive south of Tokyo. My husband will soon return to Australia as the fire season is approaching and there are dangers for our house in the forest there (see BLOG and WEBSITE). With only me looking after my mother it is quite intense as I can get little rest, and according to my mother's doctor, the intensity will only increase towards the end of the year. I worry I will have trouble in the future getting out to do shopping and even my own medical appointments. There is a constant flow of medical professionals coming to the house (nurses, doctor, physiotherapist, dentist, masseuse and social worker), but this does not give me a break as it is important that I am present and alert absorbing any developing insights. Given: i) very positive experiences in Australia with HelpX helpers (see reviews in the WEBSITE), and ii) the fact that the top fl...

I'm Thanasis, a 45 years old greek man living in the South of the Peloponnes. I'm a farmer, with oranges trees and some olive trees. I also have a shop, mainly selling coffee that I roast on site. I need help all the year to maintain the big farm (orange and olive harvest, trees pruning, pick-up fallen oranges, and so on..) If you come, you will have your own room (1 for a couple or separate), and access to all the rest of the house (kitchen, bathroom...). I like to share the meal, and provide food if you want to cook. You also can use WI-FI connection. You could enjoy the life between the farm and the city of Skala Lakonia, wich offer a lot of coffee shop, restaurants, and any kind of stores. Minimum stay is 2 weeks, to allow time to learn about life on the farm. I need help for a maximum of 5 hours per day, 5 days per week, depending on the weather. I really like to meet new people and introduce them to Greece history. I practice karaté (three times per week) and would be happy t...

Volunteers accepted between June to October only. We have created Thailand's first Earthship inspired building in an organic orchard in the mountainous region in the north. I have 10 years experience building with rice husks (hulls) which is an excellent material for monsoon areas, and I have combined this knowledge with ideas from Earthships to create a truly cool building, dry and cold in heat and rain, and warm in winter, using natural and local materials, and recycled tires and bottles. This is a chance to learn and understand how a tropical earthship is made. Mostly gardening work is needed, plus some internet work explaining and publicising tropical earthships. Some maintenance may be needed on the Earthship. We can offer a wood and bamboo guesthouse to stay in, in an orchard, and we have a sun heated shower. There is a small kitchen, or you can use the kitchen in the earthship. You can see 2 photos of the guesthouse and 2 of the earthship. This area is very beautiful and pea...

Seals abound and also eider ducks and other birds, and the rock Hvítserkur, which resembles a prehistoric Dinosaur, is within walking distance. The unspoiled nature, peaceful environment and a variety of recreation opportunities makes this an ideal place. In only about 5 min walk you are in unusually close contact with nature. Here guests can see a number of different birds and one of Iceland`s biggest colonies of seals, swimming only a few meters from the beach. We are offering a help exchange, we are offering helpers to come and stay with us in exchange for help on the farm, or with the Hostel.. That could be helping cleaning rooms, or doing reception, on the farm it could be fence work, or helping with the animals. A superb place for nature lovers

Summer is barely starting but when it'll be over, after nice few months wandering in the mountains and enjoying green grass, the sheep will have to go back to the warmth of the barn! So, from end of August to mid-October, we’ll need volunteers to hike/run after them in the mountains. It's not just random hike, it'll have to be to the sheep's rhythm. It’s hard work, the days can be long, but so satisfying to follow the flock of sheep going back home! You can of course text even if you're available another time of the year, we need people around all year long ! Message us on WhatsApp or on HelpX. My WhatsApp number is above. Send me (Caroline, who runs the HelpX) a message (here, on WhatsApp or Instagram caroline.lsgt). Sorry folks, we are now fully booked until the beginning of April 2027. There may be a cancellation, but these are very rare, but if you are in the area, reach out, we love to chat :) As well as the normal homesteading tasks, if you want to learn about wine making, bee keeping, jewellery making, or take some self defence lessons we could be a great match. Have a think, take a look at our reviews and if you are interested, drop us a line, *** Our beautiful countryside homestead (only 5 acres so not really a farm) is in the mountainous hills above the historic castle town of Caccamo, Sicily. It is surrounded scraggy mountains and long valley walks. It is perfect for hiking or just relaxing in the sun with a good book. Within easy traveling distance for those interested in exploring this culturally rich island, is the seaside town of Cefalù or even the main capital city of Palermo, both are easily accessible by bus and train from the local town. We are beekeepers in a small village near Bayonne, in the south west of France. We live in an old typical farm of the area with animals (one dog, two cats, chickens and millions of bees). We have near to 150 hundred hives which produce different honeys (heather, chestnut, acacia,...). For that we`re moving it in different areas. We are also making some pastry with our honey and we are selling the production on the local shops. We are also gardening, cooking and doing some DIY works at farm. We would please to welcome to you.

We are Jean and Laurence, born in 1965, with two daughters (born in 1993 and 1995 and gone from home - most of the time now). You will find references about us, as couch-surfer and BeWelcome hosts, see our website links above. We were part of the couch-surfing network since 2007 and we like it very much, but moved to BeWelcome when couchsurfing became commercial ! We are french, good English speakers, poor Spanish speakers. In 2004, we bought a country house in the Pyrenees. We live and work in Aix-en-Provence, but we spend most of our holiday time in this house, doing usually the following activities : - repairing the house - taking care of the garden - hiking, running, cycling, swimming in the St Pée d'Ardet little lake or Garona river, cooking, reading, participating to the life of the village ... The house is situated in a village named Galie, near the banks of the Garonne river. The beautiful Pyrenees are all around, and Spain is very close. We would like to share our holiday...

No more spots in May and June, but in July, August, and September we may have space for you! :) My husband and I are running a little market garden on his small family farm. We are starting our sixth growing season, selling our produce in some weekly CSA (community supported agriculture) veggie boxes and the occasional market or organic shop. We have a passion for small scale farming and (self-)sustainability, trying to make as much as we can ourselves and with the love and care that our soil and our community (in garden and neighborhood) deserve. We are in our late 30s/early 40s and we share the farm with Markus´ parents, sometimes his 8-year-old son, our 3-year-old daughter, some chickens, ducks, goats (my passion project), rabbits and two cats. We are looking for help in the garden and/or around the farm (e.g. with the animals). As well as some natural building work (e.g. clay oven). Markus is a trained farmer as well as a skilled handyman and can teach you a lot, I have travelled ...

**We have helpers staying with us right now, but will have availability again from early August**. Cath and I (Dan) live in Aeroglen, 5 minutes from the Cairns airport at the base of beautiful Mt Whitfield Conservation Park. We are about 10 minutes from the centre of Cairns CBD and 15 minutes to the northern beaches. We live in a suburban home, where we live upstairs. I am a wildlife biologist. We are in our 30s, have three kids (ages 1 -10), and busy jobs - so we are looking for people to assist with tasks around the house. This includes gardening, cleaning the pool, general maintenance, painting the exterior of the house, and other odd jobs. We will often be working alongside you. Hello, I live in the beautiful Charente region 16140, and am looking for help with all sorts of jobs, from feeding the donkeys and other animals to painting and helping in the garden 😊 I am slowly bringing this lovely old château back to life after being empty and abandoned for many years. I enjoy growing my own organic vegetables and looking after my animals. I recently planted an orchard and have lots of other projects I'd love your help with. In the past I've shared some wonderful times with helpers, many of whom remain friends and have visited several times. In return I offer a comfortable bedroom in the chateau with 3 meals a day, and cooked as much as possible with our fresh produce. I would like your help for 5 hours a day with weekends off. There is lots to explore like little villages and towns and the river. The coast is about an hour's drive away. The Charente river is at the bottom of the garden and there are some lovely walks right outside the door, there are also b...

We run a well-known organic market garden in the Alpes Maritime, right on the Riviera coast and the Italian border. It is an area of outstanding natural beauty and popular with tourists. Our garden is on mountain terraces above the town, but only a 10 minute walk to the beach and 20 to the old town. Access is easy by train or bus from Nice or Italy. For the next 5 months we are looking for hands-on and experienced support with a number of urgent tasks. This could be a paid situation for an experienced person willing to contract for the season which ends 30 September. The work includes sowing, planting, fertilising, harvesting for market, basic landscaping, fencing, irrigation repair and DIY/maintenance and will probably best suit a fit and younger male helper. We may also take 1 or 2 experienced volunteers for shorter periods. As a produce grower, our crops include organic lemons, oranges, avocados, vegetables. Leaf crops and herbs. These we sell at a combination of local market, hig...

We are a family living in the beautiful village of Herand in the middle of Hardanger. We live close to the fjord and have an accounting firm and a software company that we live off of + some rental of beds in the summer. We have a small greenhouse and a small farm where we have some vegetables. Summer is a busy time and we need 2-3 positive people to help us with different work. We live by the harbour, and have a small farm 2 km away. We have boats, kayaks, canoes and paddleboards. You can use a cabin in the mountains if you wish. The area is well suited for walking or cycling. Normal working hours are 4-5 hours per day.

This is a permaculture small farm on the edge of Violet Town, just 800m from the train station.

I'm Thanasis, a 45 years old greek man living in the South of the Peloponnes. I'm a farmer, with oranges trees and some olive trees. I also have a shop, mainly selling coffee that I roast on site.

You can also message Beggi (the farmer) directly via Facebook (Alexander Flumbri), named after Beggi's cat! Profile picture is of the cat as well (Beggi doesn't have that many hair!)! Where to start? We run a well-known organic market garden in the Alpes Maritime, right on the Riviera coast and the Italian border. It is an area of outstanding natural beauty and popular with tourists.
