Looking for a lovely volunteer(s) to join us and our animals. AVAILABILITY FROM the 4th August. We are fully booked until the 3rd August. Please contact us if you are interested in helping look after our wonderful animals. Experience with horses is useful but not necessary as long as you are happy to care for them. You will live as part of the family - during your stay, our home will be your home. We are a married couple living on a property with our DOGS, HORSES and some elderly but treasured chickens. Depending on the time of year, we also run a small scale rescue and rehabilitation centre for hedgehogs. There are stunning views looking out over a Devon Wildlife Nature Reserve and beautiful countryside. We live in a very attractive rural area of Devon on the outskirts of a beautiful old village called DOLTON (please look on "Google Earth") about a 45 minute drive from Dartmoor National Park. The village has a very friendly and active community, a church, 2 excellent traditional p...

PLEASE READ MY WHOLE HOST PROFILE BEFORE YOU APPLY TO VISIT MY PLACE AND ASK ABOUT ANYTHING YOUR NOT CLEAR ON. Need help with a garden clean up, at the moment. You don't need to have an overwhelming desire to save the world, live off the land, or be more useful than a Swiss army knife, to stay here. A nice honest person is good enough. This is a relaxing place, close to nature, away from the backpacker trail on the coast but still got a bit happening, somewhere to recharge your batteries, do a bit of work, have a laugh and meet some real Aussies, maybe get out of your comfort zone a bit😜 My place is a cattle farm with one rough headed, skinny, old farmer, one dog, some cattle, lots of birds and wildlife, relaxing place, near Kyogle, a quiet country town. It is 1.5 hours drive west from Byron Bay, 2 hours south of Brisbane by train. Very close to the beautiful Border Ranges National Park (bike ride away). I like to show people around. There is a mountain on my farm with lots of t...

Kia ora, travellers! Haere mai - welcome to my whare (home) in beautiful Honeymoon Valley, surrounded by native rainforest, birds and insects. We built this eco-earth house using local clay from right under our feet. This land used to be just grass, but after 30 years of caring for this whenua, it now has mature trees, orchards, and organic gardens. Life here is peaceful and quiet, perfect for enjoying nature I am part of the local landcare group, helping protect our native forest, birds, lizards, and insects. We trap predators and remove invasive weeds. You could help with organic/permaculture gardening: vegetables, flowers, herbs, fruit trees, chickens, mowing, brush-cutting, compost-making, maintenance and fixing things (basic carpentry, painting), sewing, cleaning, chopping firewood. I bake bread. I make apple cider vinegar, bottle fruit, jam, chutney, sauerkraut, and collect seeds. My place fits independent and mature helpers who love working outside and don't mind getting thei...

My husband Matthias and I, Johanna, came from Germany as backpackers in the 1980s. We met here in NZ, but our home language is German. We are a family with eight children, who we home-educated throughout their school years. Three of them are now married, and we have five grandchildren. Five of our now grown-up children are living at home - either still or again - our oldest son with his wife and 4 boys is living in our cottage, and another son with his wife and baby has moved into a smaller house on our property. A friend lives in our housetruck. So life is happening to the full! Sadly, my husband passed away in January 2024 after a short time of intense illness. We miss him much! Our lifestyle block is home to a gaggle of geese, a flock of domestic ducks, around 40 chickens, some sheep and sometimes a few young male goats, - and of course many wild birds, rabbits and the tiny creatures of fields, woods and duck-pond. An old apple, apricot and peach orchard and a young walnut grove ar...

Spring May 16, 2026 - openings for the month of MAY :) Wow, exploring right outside our backdoor along side the Campbell River on Vancouver Island, is a beautiful place to experience Vancouver Island`s great outdoors this SPRING with all the wild life right in our back yard :) Although we live on a one acre town lot, our back yard is situated on a cliff over looking an accessible beautiful heritage river, with a nature park setting of ferns, Douglas fir, maple and alder trees. You can often see deer, raccoons, bears and the silver backs of salmon and Steelhead fish jumping in the ebb and flow of the river’s pools. We have trail access to the river below, where you can enjoy listening to the sing song of many birds, tubing down the river/swimming in the heat of the summer, and trying your hand at casting for Steelhead fish. As well, our neighborhood is the access point to many scenic nature hiking, walking and biking trails. The ocean photo was taken a couple of miles from my home and...

Gardening, housework, light mechanical, a bit of hunting, all sorts of things, never boring.A wicked sense of humor is a good asset to bring. handy to Routeburn and Greenstone tracks. You will need your own internet connection as I don't supply wifi. A bit isolated, not for the precious, no trophy hunters!! Please don't apply unless you intend to come for a minimum stay of two weeks. One person only. We do not get involved with internships or visa applications. Vegetarians and vegans would probably not be comfortable as we eat meat daily. I am off grid and totally dependent on solar, so you have to charge your devices during the day and definitely no hairdryers! Accommodation is a house bus in warmer weather or a room in the house in winter, not shared usually. Lastly I also play the guitar (badly) and sing (worse) but it's all about smile not style :-) Cheers Al

Greetings from Canada, British Columbia, in the beautiful Okanagan Valley. From the lake town of Osoyoos, our mountain estate sits about 28 km up at the summit, surrounded by 500 acres of untouched land and breathtaking, uninterrupted views that seem to last forever. Up here, the days are warm, the nights are cool, and the sky is filled with stars. It is truly a little paradise — a place where luxury and simplicity live side by side. Here is a little about us: we have been hosts on a different platform, which is called Workaway, for the past 18 years. With this, we have had the joy of welcoming volunteers from all over the world. So we have now decided to start hosting on HelpX as well to allow more volunteers to experience what our Workaway volunteers have experienced. I love to open my doors and my heart, because hosting has always been about sharing, caring, and growing together. At the moment, we are looking for some guys (or girls) who have experience with stucco work. We are als...

Version française plus bas. __________________________________ Hello! We moved from Germany five years ago to the beautiful Gaspé-coast. We’re located 5km from the sea and we live midst a community of young people. Who’s “we”? Well, it’s Catherine (37 years old), Olaf (46 years old), Mathis (4 years)and Mika (10 months) and Artemis, our cat. We try to be as self-sufficient as possible on the food and work in our garden to make it a little bigger each year. We grow organic (not certified) vegetables of all kinds, berries, medicinal herbs, perennials and more. We also have a wood lot close by. We try to make our own seeds as much as possible and start our own seedlings in spring for the garden and the greenhouse. We also transform our harvest by drying, fermenting, canning, making juice etc. Of course there is always things to do around the house and inside, too. So there is always some extra hands needed. Our handcraft-projects include wood, leather, basketing, sewing, mosaic and other...

I'm Thanasis, a 45 years old greek man living in the South of the Peloponnes. I'm a farmer, with oranges trees and some olive trees. I also have a shop, mainly selling coffee that I roast on site. I need help all the year to maintain the big farm (orange and olive harvest, trees pruning, pick-up fallen oranges, and so on..) If you come, you will have your own room (1 for a couple or separate), and access to all the rest of the house (kitchen, bathroom...). I like to share the meal, and provide food if you want to cook. You also can use WI-FI connection. You could enjoy the life between the farm and the city of Skala Lakonia, wich offer a lot of coffee shop, restaurants, and any kind of stores. Minimum stay is 2 weeks, to allow time to learn about life on the farm. I need help for a maximum of 5 hours per day, 5 days per week, depending on the weather. I really like to meet new people and introduce them to Greece history. I practice karaté (three times per week) and would be happy t...

After an intense house renovation, we are now entering the final phase, focusing on cleaning and refreshing the house. From APRIL (for about one month), we are looking for help with PAINTING work inside and outside, as well as some light gardening tasks such as weeding. This period is ideal for someone who enjoys practical, hands-on work and likes to see visible results at the end of the day. From JUNE onwards, as the weather becomes warmer, the help will mainly consist of daily HOUSEKEEPING tasks (cleaning, ironing), with occasionally some light gardening. We’ve found that this experience works best for people who enjoy staying active and contributing in a practical way to daily life. We truly appreciate volunteers who bring positive energy, a hands-on mindset, and a genuine willingness to help. We are a Belgian family who has been living in France for over 20 years. In our late fifties, we speak French, Dutch, English, and a bit of Spanish. Our home is located in the beautiful r...

We are in the process of renovating an old house in the Pyrenees. There is only decorating to do such as stripping paint of walls and woodwork, and repainting. There might be the occasional carpentry to do also, nothing too complicated. We need help 5 hours per day, five days per week. Weeding, pruning trees, making paths. We are looking for help from two strong and healthy individuals to assist with a house redecorating project and gardening, trimming trees, path making etc. This requires physical strength and stamina. PLEASE NOTE WELL: we absolutely cannot host anyone with any pre-existing health issues, physical or mental (we are not medically trained to manage such conditions), such as hay fever, any other allergies, sensitivities or intolerances. We live in a small village with some shops and a climbing centre and a river just opposite the house. We have a quite a size garden where we grow vegetables, fruit bushes and trees. This is an exciting opportunity to have an experience that will stay with you throughout your life. Our Foundation aims at helping rural children receive a qualitative outstanding education. We have a volunteer teaching program to assist rural teachers and children get exposure to foreign languages and cultures. Because English is the second language in Thai schools, we concentrate on improving the English language skills of both rural teachers and children. At present, we aim to help 4 public elementary schools (grades 1 - 6) close to Chiang Mai. We are currently taking applications for volunteers who would available to start sometime between now and the end of June and commit to at least 8 weeks . We are looking for volunteers to teach English only. Couples are welcome as well. NOTE: We do not charge volunteers any fees for staying with us. We live in a Christian community, meeting regularly for prayer, worship and bible study so most of our volunteers share our Christian faith. We are a residential provider of outdoor activities, owned and operated by a small charity. For most of the year we host visiting groups which come to enjoy a range of activities in the beautiful setting of the Scottish Highlands. We are located 2 hours north of Glasgow, the nearest town being Fort William, surrounded by mountains and lochs scenery. There are good road and rail connections to reach us. Volunteers working with us help with cleaning the centre, serving meals, indoor and outdoor maintenance and some grounds work. Life at the centre is quite structured, with a weekly rota and daily task lists to follow. Volunteers are asked to work between 4 and 5 hours per day, 5 days per week. When not engaged in centre duties there are opportunities for volunteers to join in organised activities alongside our groups or to explore the area. V...

Join Our Home in Walnut Creek: A Unique Opportunity for Connection and Support Hello! My name is Bruce, and I’m looking for a reliable, friendly person to assist me with everyday life while also forming a meaningful connection. About Me and Our Home I broke my neck at 18, resulting in lifelong use of a wheelchair. Despite this, I pursued multiple degrees and have built a fulfilling life with my wife, Kim. We live in a cozy three-bedroom home in Walnut Creek, just 28 miles east of San Francisco. Our household includes our service dog, Bennett, a future service dog in training (Dorothy, our third), and two cats, Edna and Scarlett. 12 acres of woodland coppice half a mile away. We are now building a tiny house in our woodland and would like some help with that, no experience needed just a willingness to learn. Preferred experience with carpentry if possible. General maintenance and clearing up of woodland and garden. At home the garden permaculture design needs improvement. Wanted enthusiastic people who love being in nature and are open to share their creativity and learn along the way. Could be suitable for a single person or a couple.

Tucked up on top of a hill in the Forty Hills of Carrick live Brian and Sharilyn. We have had this property for about 13 years now, and have been working hard to create a self-sufficient homestead where we can create our art! Before we 'settled down' we did a lot of traveling ourselves and helpx-ed on many properties similar to ours. It amazing, but the more you do, the harder it is to get everything done! We bake bread, preserve, cook, make wine, etc., etc. But now that we are 50-ish and running our own art business, we just don't have the same kind of time anymore and would love to share what we have with helpers! We have a spare bedroom in the house that you can use as long as you can tolerate cats! We love to grow as much as possible and have a large garden, orchard and greenhouse. We also keep chickens and geese, and in the summer raise pigs and lambs (+goats?). Lots of opportunities to work outside maintaining the property, and if you are interested you can help out in t...

Animal Rescue and Sanctuary and Organic Vegan Farm in Central Costa Rica Hello everyone! What we do: We take care of animals, we grow organic food, we prepare and eat tasty vegan meals, we minimize our impact on the earth, and we enjoy the company of our Costa Rican friends and neighbors. We have run a volunteer program for over 18 years, and have had several hundred people come to work with us! Our farm is primarily an animal rescue, rehab and sanctuary. Our doors are open to animals in need. We currently have five rescue dogs, six goats, a pig, a horse, two cats, and two water buffalos. Some came off the streets, some were abandoned, others were injured and no longer wanted. We adopt out what we can, but most are retired and happy to live their lives on the farm. The 3.5 hectare property is covered with many tropical fruit trees, including water apple, mandarin orange, banana (many varieties), guayaba, guanabana, cas, caimito, lime, nance, coffee and araza. Depending on the se...

We appreciate 5 hours of work per day, 6 days per week. You can choose 8 am to 1 pm, or 7 am to noon. Sundays off. Bonjour ! We are Hélène and Lucas, a thirty year old french couple who bought a house a couple of years ago in a little town called L’Isle-sur-le-Doubs. You never heard about it ? Well, it’s time to change that ! Forget about Paris and the Eiffel Tower and come and discover Franche-Comté, one of the greenest region of France, known for its famous cheeses (Comté, Morbier, Mont d’Or, Cancoillotte …) and its Jura wines. We are ideally located along a canal which is also the path for the famous Euro Velo Route 6 going from Nantes to Budapest. There we opened a Bed and Breakfast to host cyclers AND ALSO created an association where we organize events for the locals in our barn and garden (concerts, board game nights, workshops …). Tasks at the moment will include : - Emptying, cleaning and arrange the cellar - Gardening - Housework - Logging - Helping to organize an event if one is planned during your stay We offer you to work between 20 and 25 hours per week. No particular expe...

Boy, we were so lucky to land this property and we may call this our home.......but it needs some TLC! So during the fires of 2017 basically everything was destroyed. Only the cork oak trees were resistant enough. We have beautiful old cork oaks on the property and one is crowned as the Kind Tree. It is a massive cork oak leaning into the valley. We built a yoga platform around it and the platform leans over the valley. The energy is magical. But that is just one thing and we are talking about a massive farm with 38H of land.......So we aim for the farm to be a stand alone in terms of water and power plus we also want to honor the virgin water springs and keep chemicals and plastics out. We have our own septic tanks and reuse the waist for regrowing the forest. The meadows are being reinstated and the houses (8 in total) will be rebuilt. In the meantime we do also enjoy what the property offers. Long hikes, a swim in our own lake, discovery of yet another beautiful ruin and how about ...

We are currently taking applications for volunteers who would available to start sometime between now and the end of June and commit to at least 8 weeks . V...

My name is Bruce, and I’m looking for a reliable, friendly person to assist me with everyday life while also forming a meaningful connection.

We are a family run home, perfect for the 1st time volunteer. Natural horsemanship is a real factor here if you want to learn more. Our mentors being Buck Brannaman, Steve Halfpenny and Ken Falkner. A safe environment for your 1st time away from home. You do not need any knowledge of horses but you do need to love dogs, they are a major part of the family and are constantly with us all 8 of them, dalmations, vizslas and 2 weimararners, and they do jump all over you. Constant appaloosas is a small holding where we breed and train horses for ourselves and occasionally others. We have help exchange programs running throughout the year for interested students of all ages. Vet students get a really good grounding here. What we expect from you, conduct yourself in an open and friendly manner, engage in all aspects of life on the farm and seize all opportunities with enthusiasm, avoid rude and disrespectful behaviour to people horses and dogs. Basically show respect to people and our home,...

We're a truganic, biodynamic, permaculture farm in the Catskill Mountains of New York State, two hours Northwest of NYC. 24 acres with approx. 4 acres of wetlands. Approximately 5 acres under cultivation. We follow all the organic standards, and above (since organic standards are constantly being downgraded by the USDA), but are not certified organic. We DO NOT use pesticides, herbicides, fungicides, "cides" of any kind, or chemical fertilizers. We also follow biodynamic & permaculture principles. Season is April through October. We appreciate 5 hours of work per day, 6 days per week. You can choose 8 am to 1 pm, or 7 am to noon. Sundays off. Visitors help with planting, transplanting, weeding, spreading hay and wood chip mulch, hauling, fertilizing, harvesting, making biodynamic preps, building and maintaining hugelkultures, clearing of brush, stacking of wood logs, roto-tilling, taking care of chickens, building fences, pathways, ponds, compost boxes, other building projects, etc. ...

Gardening, forestry We live in a small cottage on a friendly lake about 3 hours north of Toronto. We have the usual cottage toys available, canoe, small sailboat, row boat. Looking for help with selective cutting trees for firewood and lumber which we cut on our own small mill. Hopefully someone that is a better gardener than we are as we would like to start growing our own produce and maybe even get some chickens. Help with some construction and painting projects. We have some old machinery we are always trying to keep running. We are offering free accommodation and meals in exchange for help. This is a no smoking environment.

Visiting Pembrokeshire and in particular staying here would suit people who enjoy the outdoors, nature, hiking, water sports etc. There is so much to do in the surrounding area.
