This time of year my work is situated north of cairns so there plenty opportunity to explore north were not alot of tourist go. The work involves collecting bee hives for honey extraction and queen bee rearing this gives us plenty of time to explore. hello, my name is Steven. my wife and I are living in this small rural town for 20 years and we know the surrounding area very well. I work as a health professional in the town. so we usually quite busy may only take you out to nearby tourist spot on weekends. Near Hamilton, there are mountains, hot springs, waterfalls, and beaches. It's about a three-and-a-half-hour drive from Melbourne. the land of my home is about one acre in size. Because I'm busy most of the time, there's a lot of grass that needs mowing, and some trees that need pruning. I have two cats, so their litter needs to be scooped every day. If you come in winter, you might need to light the fire place. There's a fire at home for heating. Yes, we burn large chunks of wood in winter. we have massage chair, red light therapy unit and a small oxygen chamber in TV room. Gardening, housework, light mechanical, a bit of hunting, all sorts of things, never boring.A wicked sense of humor is a good asset to bring. handy to Routeburn and Greenstone tracks. You will need your own internet connection as I don't supply wifi. A bit isolated, not for the precious, no trophy hunters!! I have a pair of picturesque, riverfront hobby farms, each with a large 4-bedroom house. In time, want to transition the farms to more of a communal space. There are three acres of wild blueberries that I am currently converingt to organic production, six acres of pasture, and about eight acres of woods that provide more than enough firewood to heat both homes without having to clear-cut any areas. I have a small herd of alpacas and an even smaller flock of chickens, whom I allow to free range. We harvest a small portion of our food from the property, and my vision is to increase that slowly and steadily every year. We're reactivating Helpx after a lapse since COVID as we need some help mostly with garden work, barrowing and spreading mulch. We've enjoyed having young ( and not so young) helpers from around the world over the years. We are a middle aged couple and an adult daughter living in a large house on the outskirts of Woolgoolga. We have a mixed farm on Swanpool Creek, in Swanpool (north east Victoria) with a farmhouse on the top of a hill with views of the surrounding mountains. We have a vineyard that produces award winning wine (Chardonnay and Shiraz grapes), a eucalyptus tree plantation, a large garden (as well as a veggie garden) and a small flock of Dorper sheep, an alpaca, 3 horses and some chickens.
