We are offering travelers a warm, comfortable two-story Celery Top Pine Pole home we built ourself. You will enjoy magical views of the ocean and mountain and will wake to the sounds of the wild birds that flock to our food and water bowls. We are regularly visited by possums, wallaby's and various other wildlife. If you're lucky you may even see a Tasmanian Devil. We aspire to a sustainable way of living and adore our large established organic garden, which we are needing help with maintaining. We ask helpers to provide a minimum of 4.5 hrs of work each day for 5 days with two full days off. If you would like a day off after working a few days we ask you to make up the hours on other days. Some helpers also purchase their own food and only work 2.5 hours a day if this suits you better. We are also very flexible and happy to listen to your requests. Previous gardening experience is essential as well as cooking/helping with evening meals, household duties, and other jobs as required...

This is a Standardbred Race Horse (Harness Racing) farm at the foot of Tamborine Mountain. Located 45 minutes from Brisbane in the beautiful Gold Coast hinterland. The closest train station is Beenleigh. Your own car is a plus. We welcome working holiday visa holders with good horse experience and most importantly a passion for horses !! In order to learn your daily task, routine and horses personalities, we will ask you to stay a minimum of 3 weeks. Long stays are really welcome. Your role on the farm would be helping with the daily care of our racehorses. It's an everyday job starting depending of the sun (4.30am in summer and later on winter time). We start each morning training the horses, washing them and feeding them. All the retired horses need to be feed and watered as well. We need to feed and water all the horses again each night before dark. The ideal helpers will be positive, willing and with a some decent english. Because it’s a 30 hec property and there is always some...

We are Craig, Violaine and Max, 6, we also have 2 cats, Pearl and Russell, and ducks, chickens, too many to name them all. Our touristic lodge, where we live, is situated at the bottom of the South Island, with privates rooms, shared bathrooms and some camp sites, catering to mostly hikers but its open to anyone. Closed the winter season, we are still busy doing renovations, preparing the gardens or traveling. Trying to be eco-friendly, semi self sufficient, means that we do a lot of gardening in a hands on spray free way (essentially organics, but that is a licensed word), growing our own food for meals, seed raising, planting, picking, preserving the excess to sell or use, there is always something to do and they can change from month to month with the seasons.. Craig is a chef and barista and cooks breakfasts and dinners for guests, if they book meals, we try to cook everything from scratch, making the bread, compote, make jams, etc. If you are interested in food, he has 40 years of...

My hobby farm is 7 acres of tropical fruit trees; Jackfruit, Durian, sapote, coconuts, banana, Rolinia, Soursop and many more. Weeding, mulching, pruning and picking is the main work needed here. As the property is on top of the Rex range at a high altitude it has views and is a few degrees cooler than the coast . There is a creek at the bottom of the property but it isnt suitable for swimming . It is for wildlife, so cooling off is in the plunge pools or we go for a short drive to the nearby creek or waterfall. The provided accomodation is a caravan which also has a little kitchen. You are welcome into the house to use the toilet & bathroom and share meals . The house is adjacent to the caravan and faces the orchard & mountains. Regarding the orchard ,depending on what is fruiting, we will process the fruit ; freezing, dehydrating, or making smoothies. Regarding meals Im generally vegetarian( but do eat fish occasionally) , But I am not keen with red ...

Hi there and welcome Do you love bees? Have you ever wanted to get up close and personal with the whole beekeeping way of life? Please note - if you are allergic to bee stings, then this is not for you! MORNINGS approximately 8 am until around 2pm most days are spent beekeeping - each month there is something a bit different to do depending on the time of year. The cycle includes raising bees and beehives, queen bee breeding, feeding and preparing the beehives and bees before the honey season begins, moving beehives to remote locations for summer honey gathering, harvesting honey and bringing in to the small factory for processing the honey and also being involved in honey processing. Work days might be 6 hours some days (there is a lot of travel to the bee work) but we will make sure you get a fair deal!! AFTERNOONS if you are a capable horse rider you are welcome to come ride with us as part of leisure activities and spend time at the farm. We also get away to competitio...

This is for those of you who plan ahead. We are full until mid July, right at the start of our best fishing season and in the middle of our best weather when at least some of the time we should be cutting great timber from unwanted trees using a 26 inch/56cm bandsaw. So anyone who loves fishing, snorkelling on inshore reefs and is good at DIY or carpentry and loves the simple, quiet, rural life by the beach, next to the rainforest, this is for you 🤗. We appreciate help with DIY construction, repairs and maintenance, timber work, boat work, metal work repairs to trailers and for help with gardening, housekeeing, cooking, duck and chicken rearing and dog walking on the beach. Fishing, snorkelling, and rainforest walks can help occupy your spare time. We are looking for reasonably good DIY handymen and women, capable of working effectively, when necessary, on your own or as a pair and, ideally, someone who also has some gardening experience, but that is not really necessary, learn o...

Kia ora, travellers! Haere mai - welcome to my whare (home) in beautiful Honeymoon Valley, surrounded by native rainforest, birds and insects. We built this eco-earth house using local clay from right under our feet. This land used to be just grass, but after 30 years of caring for this whenua, it now has mature trees, orchards, and organic gardens. Life here is peaceful and quiet, perfect for enjoying nature I am part of the local Landcare group, helping protect our native forest, birds, lizards, and insects. We trap predators and remove invasive weeds. You could help with organic/permaculture gardening: vegetables, flowers, herbs, fruit trees, chickens, mowing, brush-cutting, compost-making, maintenance and fixing things (basic carpentry, painting), sewing, cleaning, chopping firewood. I bake bread. I make apple cider vinegar, bottle fruit, jam, chutney, sauerkraut, and collect seeds. (La description en français se trouve plus bas !) We are a small Buddhist community living in the forest close to Sainte-Julienne, Quebec. We have an organic fruit tree nursery, along with many other projects on our land: several fruit orchards, chickens and bees, growing our own vegetables and herbs and trying to be independent in many ways. The six people who are staying are: Ajan, Eric, Veronique, Elisabeth, Natalie and Camille. Each of us have arrived here one by one, at first just interested in helping out in the place, and then as we found that this lifestyle was for us, deciding to stay for longer. For part of the year we also have a couple of employees staying with us. There is also a wonderful dog named Dali. Our organic nursery and garden occupies a land of 9 hectares, surrounded by forest. As well as the main land of the nursery, we have another smaller land where a few of us live. This is, in fact, where the community started to grow from very small beginnings in the ear...

Beautiful 56 acre mountainous property, completely off grid with a small hardwood house /cottage that I have built using milled wood from trees on the property , with lovely views everywhere . Also doing a lot work to improve the land and infrastructure. Hi beautiful people! I’m Christine, a happy spirited former language and arts teacher working across two continents. Since I retired I work in the natural health field. I live on an urban block called The Roo‘s Pouch, where I maintain a sustainable vegetable garden and created a community of nice people living with me. I live in one of the buildings on this sunny property which runs on rainwater harvesting. We avoid chlorine and contaminates by filtering, harmonizing, and energizing our own water though Ionisation. Water conservation is part of life for me. You can come to Maryborough via plane, bus or train. The Hervey Bay Airport is only 30min from my home. There are meanwhile several bus companies to choose from. If you use the train please book Maryborough town from the drop down menu. The shuttle bus from the train station in Maryborough west (20 min out of town) is free of charge if it is pre-booked. We have a small upstairs room in our modern home about 5kms from downtown Wanaka with its own entrance and bathroom. We provide breakfast. We are environmental artists in our 70s. Our work can be seen via our website link below. We have lived and worked in Wanaka for over 20 years on a secluded bush clad property facing the mountains. Our art studio has served as an Airbnb for 9 years for a few months during the summer season and we enjoy hosting visitors from all over the world. However it has become challenging maintaining our place and we need practical help with our garden.

We are a fit and active couple in our 70s who have recently bought a home (2021) right by the water on Lamb Island in Moreton Bay, 30km from Brisbane. It has great views over the bay and has good access to fishing, crabbing, safe swimming and boating. There is a fast and regular ferry to the mainland that takes 20 minutes. There are also several other islands nearby that can be explored including North Stradbroke Island that has wonderful beaches and walks and lots of wildlife including koalas, kangaroos, turtles and dolphin and - from June to October - humpback whales. Over the next two years we will renovate and paint the home, install new kitchen and two bathrooms. Graham has some woodworking skill but needs help during that time with various tasks and we are willing to give you a comfortable bed, good food and company and access to bathroom and washing machine in exchange for 4 hours help per day, 5 days per week. Our preference is for a single person or couple who have some skil...

The activities vary depending on the season, the weather and our current projects. We are looking for help with maintaining and developing our fruit and vegetable garden, including sowing, planting, watering, weeding, harvesting, composting and pruning. We also appreciate help with practical DIY and creative projects around the house, garden and property. Depending on the season, activities may include cooking and baking together, processing fruit, vegetables and herbs, and preserving food through canning, making jams or fermentation. Our helpers stay in their own spacious and comfortable caravan with approximately 19 m² of living space. It has a double bed, a private bathroom with shower, a kitchen and dining area, and an additional room with bunk beds that can also be used as an office or private space. Directly in front of the caravan is a large 2.5 × 7 metre awning, providing additional covered space for relaxing, eating and spending time outdoors. An additional outdoor shower w...

We are ceramic artists who live on our 1 hectare property about 20km inland from the beautiful Doubtless Bay area. We run our pottery business from home and look after our organic gardens, small orchard and numerous chickens. We have traveled widely ourselves and hosted travelers for over 10 years with another organisation, so are interested in HelpX for both the cultural exchanges and to be able to share our lifestyle with others while getting some help around the property. We are looking for enthusiastic helpers for help with things around the property such as gardening, wood collecting, cleaning, painting, general maintenance and other tasks depending on the season. In exchange for 4 hours work a day, 5 days a week we will provide you with all meals, but ask that you join in with the preparation, and accommodation in the funky little cabin with it's own veranda. We will be happy to include you in our lifestyle, maybe you'll be there to go Friday night fishing on our yac...

Welcome to the North East corner of Scotland and to a quiet vegetarian smallholding working towards self sufficiency (I'm the one with the chicken on my shoulder!) I’m Kris, I have enjoyed hosting like-minded people from around the world for many years now. Friendships have been formed and from the comments of guests, it's been an enriching experience for me and those who have stayed. It is a lovely environment here, but I would say it is suited to a certain kind of person, so to make sure it’s right for you, please read my description, then let me know if it appeals to you, and why, thanks! (I reply to all personal messages!) The land is around two acres (1 hectare). A small amount is used for vegetable garden, I have also planted hundreds of trees, some of which I am now cutting for firewood to be more energy self sufficient. The woodland attracts a lot of wildlife and in the right weather, it is a joy just to sit and listen to the birds! The house is almost 200 years old, and I h...

Hello! If you’re a solo traveler looking for a peaceful, safe, nature filled place to stay, we’d really love to hear from you. We currently have availability from Wednesday 22nd July. We pause hosting from November to March because the heat and humidity make outdoor work uncomfortable — focusing on the cooler months means your stay is far more enjoyable, relaxed, and productive. 🌱 Who We Are We’re Craig and Yvonne, easy going retirees in our late sixties who’ve built our dream life on a forested acreage (not a farm) overlooking Wallis Lake and the Pacific Ocean. We love welcoming curious, kind, nature loving helpers into our home and creating a safe, calm, and friendly environment — especially for solo travelers who appreciate comfort and respect. 🛠️ Your Role (Flexible & Supportive) We’d like you to help us in the mornings, five flexible half days a week, with tasks you can choose from, such as: • Gardening and caring for the property • Track building in the bush, general mainte...

We are recent emigrants from the UK and Taiwan to France, and have settled in the beautiful countryside in the Dordogne. Nestled in the Dordogne near one of the bigger cities, our home offers 5 ha of land to roam. Nearby is Bergerac (the city around this area) that offers events several evenings a week during the summer. Otherwise, we're just a stone's throw away from outdoor water activities like kayaking and canoeing. If you are into the arts and history, the Lascaux caves is also in the region. It is just the 3 of us here including our little dog son whom we adopted from the rescue in Bergerac. He's a bundle of fun and enjoys people's company. You'll be staying in an old farm house that was renovated and extended in the mid-century. It is big enough that you'll feel like you have your own space. Our first personal project is converting a swimming pool to a natural swimming pond. We are just a couple close to the end of our prime with back problems, so we're looking for help from ...

First and foremost, I want to thank all the helpers who came from United Kingdom-England, France, Belgium, Italy, China, Japan, Australia and New Zealand. Welcome Helpers. We are a family of 5 living in the Appalachian Mountains of West Virginia. Sue is the founder of this place. Also, there is a private guestroom with private entrance on the second floor above the workshop/cabin combination. . We have a lot you can be involved in, knowledge to share, friendships to build, and opportunities for growth. Below are our routines and some projects. We live in a fun share house in Maryborough, Marry Poppins Town, with awesome meals and a big edible garden. We're Mars, the owner of the property and former owner of multiple language schools and Tracy, a former theatre/restaurant owner who's cooking the most awesome meals and looking after everyone like a mum. We need help with building and creating, and with an awesome edible garden. We're about to put 12v solar power into the rooms, also natural air-conditioning and are finishing up the spa bath in the 2nd bathroom... so there's a bit for you to learn and lots of knowledge to take home.

Kia ora, travellers! Haere mai - welcome to my whare (home) in beautiful Honeymoon Valley, surrounded by native rainforest, birds and insects.

There are over 4 kilometers of walking trails through gorgeous forest, on this completely vegan property, with mountainous views all over ranging from 150 to 230 meters above sea level. Lots of wildlife to see , with all kinds of exotic birds , including families of black cockatoo’s which live here in the pine’s, and beautiful little kingfisher birds, yellow robins, willy wagtails and kookaburras to name a few. Welcome to the North East corner of Scotland and to a quiet vegetarian smallholding working towards self sufficiency (I'm the one with the chicken on my shoulder!) I’m Kris, I have enjoyed hosting like-minded people from around the world for many years now. It is a lovely environment here, but I would say it is suited to a certain kind of person, so to make sure it’s right for you, please read my description, then let me know if it appeals to you, and why, thanks! A small amount is used for vegetable garden, I have also planted hundreds of trees, some of which I am now cutting for firewood to be more energy self sufficient.
