Hobbits are "little people" with big hearts and big bare feet firmly connected with mother earth. They habitually live "under the radar" of some PC embellished society and try all their best to not succumb to the madness of it. Claiming their birth right to nature's abundance, love, beauty and endless creativity they naturally make up to and make do with the lack of gold caused by the greedy child-eating dragon behind the bare stone mountains.. Hi, my name is Marianne. I live on a classic New Zealand all-day sunny "tree quarter acre of hobbit shire" looking down to Oamaru. If you arrive early enough at my kitchen window or even up on the jungle hill behind the cottage, you can see the sea and watch the sunrise. A 10 minute stroll down Eden Street gets you either to the CBD or to the shoreline. I am providing three basic meals per day as well as a comfortable and quiet room for your stay and to relax after our daily four hours of working together "out there", somewhere on some befitt...

We are a cultural and arts community that is working towards being self-sustained. The community is situated in the mountains of Monchique, Portugal surrounded by nature. Our community provides an alternative way of living with permaculture gardens, farm animals, sustainability projects, and arts and cultural workshops. It is a great place to come to meet other like-minded people if you are passionate about sustainability and alternative living. We hold community meetings throughout the week alongside activities and workshops, such as quiz nights, dance nights and yoga classes. If you have something you are passionate about and want to share with others, we would love for you to run a workshop. One of the best things here is the variety of tasks you can do as a volunteer, which gives you the opportunity to learn new skills and discover what you enjoy doing most. We have a combination of short-term and long-term volunteers and on average we have between 10 to 20 volunteers and resident...

We are located in the heart of Berlin, one of Europe's most exciting and diverse cities. With its vibrant cultural scene, world-class museums, historic landmarks, countless cafés, parks, and excellent public transport, Berlin is the perfect place to experience urban life while enjoying a welcoming home environment. I would kindly ask you to help with painting, fencing, gardening, sweeping leaves, cleaning and maintaining the house, as well as feeding and caring for the animals. There is plenty of space to relax and enjoy your free time. You will have your own private room, and I will provide breakfast and one warm meal each day. If you enjoy cooking in a holistic and nutritious way, you are more than welcome to do so. I am always happy to share my knowledge about healthy food and learn from others as well. I am not just looking for someone to help with daily tasks—I would like to offer a meaningful cultural exchange and create a positive experience together. If you are interested in me...

I can't see the world, but the world can come see me. First and foremost, I want to thank all the helpers who came from United Kingdom-England, France, Belgium, Italy, China, Japan, Australia and New Zealand. Welcome Helpers. We are a family of 5 living in the Appalachian Mountains of West Virginia. Sue is the founder of this place. Her daughter Ruth moved to the Hollow later as well as her husband Tim and their 2 daughters. Our hollow is quite with no neighbors in sight. There are no city lights, and you can see every star on a clear night! Our homestead consists of Sue's workshop/cabin, Tim & Ruth's cabin and one very small guest cabin. Also, there is a private guestroom with private entrance on the second floor above the workshop/cabin combination. . We have a lot you can be involved in, knowledge to share, friendships to build, and opportunities for growth. Below are our routines and some projects. We would love to involve you! - Caring for our honey bees, chickens, cats...

We can offer you homestay accommodation for a few hours of help/work per day. We are an easy-going family and would love to have a fun-easy-going person join our household. We are in the process of renovating an old house in the Pyrenees. There is only decorating to do such as stripping paint of walls and woodwork, and repainting. There might be the occasional carpentry to do also, nothing too complicated. We need help 5 hours per day, five days per week. Weeding, pruning trees, making paths. We are looking for help from two strong and healthy individuals to assist with a house redecorating project and gardening, trimming trees, path making etc. This requires physical strength and stamina. PLEASE NOTE WELL: we absolutely cannot host anyone with any pre-existing health issues, physical or mental (we are not medically trained to manage such conditions), such as hay fever, any other allergies, sensitivities or intolerances. We live in a small village with some shops and a climbing centre and a river just opposite the house. We have a quite a size garden where we grow vegetables, fruit bushes and trees. Hello Potential Volunteers My name is Paul and it was my dream to change my lifestyle from being an office worker to becoming an alpaca farmer.... here we are 14 years later with 100 alpacas, each individually cherishes with names and unique personalities, plus an assortment of other animals all needing our love :) I have three children: Liam (21), Dylan (9) and Oscar (6), and our 100-acre farm is home to approx.100 alpacas, plus llamas, peacocks, hens, mini pigs, a cat named Sexy, and our farm dog Malta. This year we are expecting 20 'cria' (baby alpacas) and each one will need our help so they can thrive! We need to ensure they get colostrum (filled with antibodies and vital for good health) – have they fed from their mums within the first 24hrs? Are they then drinking enough milk from their mums every day? Are they gaining weight? The well-being of my animals is the most important thing on the farm. Do they have good food and enough water, and the best possible natural environme...

Please read our profile carefully, and see our website and instagram. If you feel you are the right person or people for us, we look forward to receiving your application. This is a permaculture small farm on the edge of Violet Town, just 800m from the train station. The farm is well established, as most tree planting was done between 1996 and 2000, and the tree crops are well maintained and productive. Murrnong has a large established fruit and nut orchard, an olive grove, vegetable gardens, chickens, milking goats, bees, forestry for shelter and timber, and large dam for irrigation and swimming. Our house is made of timber and mud brick, and we catch our own water. Most of our food comes from the house garden and farm, including a huge range of fresh fruit all year round, a range of vegetables for each season, honey, cheese, olive oil, table olives, and home killed or hunted meat. We eat shared meals, most meals are vegetarian. Type of jobs: farm and garden work, combined with l...

We are a very busy family of 5 who can offer a super fun and loving rural NZ experience. We are by the west coast beach so adventures are never lacking. We have horses along with loads of other animals and can offer a sleep out for privacy and comfort. 3 children who are 12 and 8 year old twins. In exchange for the above we would love someone who is able to help around the property and teach us how to cook a few traditional meals. My kids would love to learn words from different language.

The village Ahrbrück is in the middle of Germany nestled in the beautiful red wine region known as Ahrtal, a few train stations (*) away from Koeln and Bonn. The landscape here is very green and lush offering a variety of options for local tourism and recreation. I am a 55 years old traveller, who studied fruit farming, and keen on house building. I travel a lot in winter to other places in Europe mostly with caravan, I did couchsurfing and made in Portugal Wwoofing last years. It`s okay if you don`t speak German, I am also an English and Spanish speaker. Now I`m currently in the process of making a transition in my life. I have a nice but unfinished house in Kesseling for gathering for artistic, and nature-loving people. It is a work in progress which requires both time and effort, and I need help to make my dream come true! Hi my name is Jasmine, I am one part of a collective of soul aligned individuals, who are called to co create a nature immersive container for healing, celebration and connection. We are in the early stages of the volunteer program, but my personal experience from hosting volunteers over the last few years, in my previous eco project, means that I am well aware of the importance of valuing the team, making sure that you feel welcome, that you are well fed and that you have a comfortable space . I like to be clear in my communication, so that you know what is expected of you in regard to your hours of work and your time off. It is also very important to me that you have a good time and enjoy the beauty of the local area and have some good company. This an 11 hectare nature sanctuary, with beautifully constructed eco structures that have been built and lovingly cared for by the late Bob Dixon, who is now no longer with us, after passing into spirit in 2023. We will continue Bob's legac...

Hi. We are Catherine and Jim. We have a house facing the sea in Liguria, an hour west of Genova. We also have a large friendly Weimaraner dog, Romeo, who is always with us. So, for you, liking dogs is important. We need some help - a single person - from September 7 and in October 2026. If you are interested it can be for 10 to 14 days maximum. The work includes light house work inside and out and caring for the garden, such as trimming and watering plants. The help is 5 hours 'work' per day, 5 days per week only. 2 days off per week. We are often flexible for work hours and days. There is a lot of free time to do whatever you want like walking and going to the beach. The beaches are nice here. And it is a good place to start an exploration of the area including Genova. There is good train and bus service here with a nearby station. We often go out and can take you places too. Please contact us if you would like to come and help us sometime in September- 7 or after, or in...

Beautiful 56 acre mountainous property, completely off grid with a small hardwood house /cottage that I have built using milled wood from trees on the property , with lovely views everywhere . Also doing a lot work to improve the land and infrastructure. There are over 4 kilometers of walking trails through gorgeous forest, on this completely vegan property, with mountainous views all over ranging from 150 to 230 meters above sea level. The beautiful forest trails have old growth national park like forest at the very top. Lots of wildlife to see , with all kinds of exotic birds , including families of black cockatoo’s which live here in the pine’s, and beautiful little kingfisher birds, yellow robins, willy wagtails and kookaburras to name a few. We have recently found koalas living on the property in the flooded gum trees, with many wallabies and goanna’s are everywhere in summer ! Lots of lovely contemplative spots to relax , . My garden is open and I am looking for people who'd like to play and explore in July, August and September... are you feeling creative or would you like to spend some time in an English Country Garden? I'm looking for someone who would like to come and "play", often with me but sometimes alone, to help with the creation and maintenance of this garden. (there are some shakey tours in "videos" section so you can see what's unfolding this year) We've got just under 1 acre, it's a work in progress, and I'm loving it. I have no expertise, just bags of enthusiasm. I'm a "get stuck in" and see what happens kinda person. I'm not after a Chelsea Medal, just a garden that speaks the language of my soul, that will feed us and be a source of solace and pleasure for anyone who visits. I am inspired by and loosely follow Biodynamic and No Dig principles. No specific expertise needed... a willingness to "do", a love of gardening (or learning about it!), the great outdoors and respect for each ...

Sorry folks, but we are now fully booked until the beginning of September 2026. There may be a cancellation, but these are very rare, but if you are in the area, reach out, we love to chat :) As well as the normal homesteading tasks, if you want to learn about wine making, bee keeping, self defense, jewellery making, or help Tony with his self defense book and video courses, we could be a great match. Have a think, take a look at our reviews and if you are interested, drop us a line, *** Our beautiful countryside homestead (only 5 acres so not really a farm) is in the mountainous hills above the historic castle town of Caccamo, Sicily. It is surrounded scraggy mountains and long valley walks. It is perfect for hiking or just relaxing in the sun with a good book. Within easy traveling distance for those interested in exploring this culturally rich island, is the seaside town of Cefalù or even the main capital city of Palermo, both are easily accessible by bus and train from the lo...

Come and get a real taste of Nu Zelan! Home brew, home made breads and fresh fish.. Bush crash up the stream, swim at the beach across the road, come fishing with me on the kayaks. Take the bikes, pedal 2km to Waiomu; then tramp/jog to some beautiful Kauri (1/2 to 3/4hr). Do an overnighter at The Pinnacles Hut up the Kauranga Valley if yr into vast iconic views and like tramping (you need to book). If you have wheels you can do great day trips around the Peninsula. And if yr more chill, Thames has some great op-shops. Debs & I are happy boomers on the endless holiday ! Loving every second left. However, we seriously need help with the massive task of @296: gardens to create & jungle to clear ! We are keen to host people who want to help, who are comfortable speaking English (or trying) and value simple routines and shared respect. Kia ora, travellers! Haere mai - welcome to my whare (home) in beautiful Honeymoon Valley, surrounded by native rainforest, birds and insects. We built this eco-earth house using local clay from right under our feet. This land used to be just grass, but after 30 years of caring for this whenua, it now has mature trees, orchards, and organic gardens. Life here is peaceful and quiet, perfect for enjoying nature I am part of the local landcare group, helping protect our native forest, birds, lizards, and insects. We trap predators and remove invasive weeds. You could help with organic/permaculture gardening: vegetables, flowers, herbs, fruit trees, chickens, mowing, brush-cutting, compost-making, maintenance and fixing things (basic carpentry, painting), sewing, cleaning, chopping firewood. I bake bread. I make apple cider vinegar, bottle fruit, jam, chutney, sauerkraut, and collect seeds. *** update may 2026 *** NEW : I moved to the center of France. I am building a new project: one global project with donkeys and a tiny camping. There is a lot of activities to offer on the site: clearing brush, decluttering, gardening, animal care, DIY, construction, art, music lessons, english lessons etc. And I need help to manage a small camping ... Welcome to my little paradise ! I don't eat animals, raw food basically. So, I prefer the helper cook his own meal (I buy your food, of course). You can stay in a tent, near a pond and with the donkeys. There is two sites in my project : the house which is a reception house for activities and with all services etc. and the pond's site which is at 20 mn on foot from the house, with basics services. The shower is outdoor and compost toilet. In spring and summer we stay on in the pond's site (named l'Ermitage). Contact me if you want to participate in the development of a beautiful project in the heart of nature, with animals. There is ...

Hello, my name is Florent, I'm 45 years old, I was a chef for about twenty years, and since 2017 I've been a spirulina producer. Spirulina is a microalga that's very rich in nutrients. It's a very environmentally friendly crop, requiring little energy and no pesticides. Spirulina needs sun and warmth to grow. The harvest season in our region runs from April to October, and it's during this period that I'm interested in hosting someone (I don't need two people at the same time, one is enough). I already have people helping me until the end of july, so I'm looking for someone from this period. I mainly need someone to help me harvest the spirulina but also sometimes to help me out on the farm with various tasks, as we do everything ourselves: cleaning, labeling, packaging, general maintenance and odd jobs, and also everything else that goes along with the spirulina production: clearing brush, chopping wood, going to markets from time to time, house construction, etc... I'm looking...

Hello! We are looking for enthusiastic helpers for a week of outdoor work. We have a sleepout available with a queen bed and two single beds that will suit either a couple or friends as long as they dont mind sharing a room. We are offering travelers a warm, comfortable two-story Celery Top Pine Pole home we built ourself.

So, if there are any Helpers out there interested in my project, I look forward to welcoming you into my home. Longer staying helpers can do art. I have ve...
