October is available From October onwards we are open to either short or longer stay requests. We could have a trial week or fortnight before committing to a long stay. Also we would like to arrange help for next year MARCH and April, this would involve strimming (rechargeable, metal blade Stihl, with mask etc) and for an experienced strimmer we could add some paid hours on top of the full board and bedroom. PLEASE no supporters of mass starvation and military actions against civilians... No climate change deniers ... We definitely would not get on!!! (to be clear it is not that we require long or even ANY conversations on these topics, it is that it would be against our principles to be gaining any kind of advantage by hosting people who were so strongly misaligned with our ethics). Please note a cat and a dog here, so not suitable for allergies to dog and cat. A minimum stay of 2 weeks please. We really need a 2 week stay having people come and go is tiring... and it does t...

2 Small farms turned into the one near the West Coast of Clare. We keep lots of farm animals like cattle, horses, donkeys and sheep. We produce a wide range of vegetables for ourselves and some for selling. We have two children, went to primary Steiner/ Waldorf school; Frank (25) and Fina(21) and they love having volunteers around the place. Fina is doing equine studies and Frank studies horticulture and loves travelling. We hope you have the ability to adapt to our for most of you different and simple life-style and enjoy farmwork with irregular hours at times, and you will get a true sense of farming life-style! It is important to realise beforehand that you are a volunteer who gets the opportunity to join into our family home/life so please do not compare with a regular paid job.. Most important is that you are happy and enjoy your stay with us... We offer healthy food, wonderful sunsets and rainbows, some Irish traditional music, and the possibility to learn more about old style f...

Sorry folks, we are now fully booked until the beginning of April 2027. There may be a cancellation, but these are very rare, but if you are in the area, reach out, we love to chat :) As well as the normal homesteading tasks, if you want to learn about wine making, bee keeping, jewellery making, or take some self defence lessons we could be a great match. Have a think, take a look at our reviews and if you are interested, drop us a line, *** Our beautiful countryside homestead (only 5 acres so not really a farm) is in the mountainous hills above the historic castle town of Caccamo, Sicily. It is surrounded scraggy mountains and long valley walks. It is perfect for hiking or just relaxing in the sun with a good book. Within easy traveling distance for those interested in exploring this culturally rich island, is the seaside town of Cefalù or even the main capital city of Palermo, both are easily accessible by bus and train from the local town. We work daily on various homesteadin...

We would love to welcome you to our beautiful log home near the Canadian Rockies for a unique volunteer experience surrounded by nature, wildlife, and true Alberta ranch life. Our home sits on a stunning 60-acre property with ponds, walking trails, open space, and incredible mountain-country scenery. The lodge itself is over 10,000 square feet and offers modern comforts, including a gym, cozy fireplaces, quiet spaces to relax, and plenty of room to feel at home. Volunteers have a private bedroom and share a washroom with 2–3 others, depending on the group size. We host a maximum of 6 volunteers at one time, which keeps the experience social, comfortable, and family-style. We are located about 20 minutes from Kananaskis, 1 hour and 15 minutes from Banff, and approximately 1 hour from Calgary, making this a great base for exploring some of the most beautiful areas in Canada. We are on an 70 acre farm in North Pope County, Illinois and are virtually surrounded by the Shawnee National Forest. Having been on this farm for 13 years, we are still developing infrastructure and are continuing to plant in the orchard and various berries as well as establishing and expanding garden and crop areas. We are a GMO, herbicide and pesticide free farm in all of our outdoor areas. As we are far away from "modern agricultural" property, we feel that we should have no problems with cross pollination of our crops with GMO's or damage/exposure from/to ag chemicals. There are many projects currently in process or in the planning stages. This summer/fall we hope to get new water and electric lines ran to all the barns and the greenhouse as well as get a fiber studio framed in and get the finishing touches on the greenhouses. Tasks on the farm are endless, so there are always things to do year round. Clearing brush, cutting wood, building fence, baling hay, sawing lumber, ...

In 2005, my husband Terje and I, became the proud owners of this place and we spent the next 15 years renovating the property. Today we offer short-term accommodation in this historical building. Guests come to visit from all over the world. They come to Odda and the Hardanger area to experience and explore our unique landscape with glaziers, fjords, mountains, waterfalls, valleys and lakes. Hiking to Trolltunga is undoubtedly the most popular of the tourist attractions offered here in Odda. Other less famous attractions are just as breath-taking. We are a family of seven, with four daughters and a foster son, but our three eldest daughters have recently moved out to work and study. We would be most grateful if you would like to come and live with us, and help us with the housekeeping; cleaning, change of bedlinen, reception work, payments, as well as maintenance, carpentry, painting, gardening, childcare, pet care, and other activities like going fishing and having fun. Looking for a lovely volunteer(s) to join us and our animals. AVAILABILITY FROM the middle of November. We are fully booked until then. Please contact us if you are interested in helping look after our wonderful animals. Experience with horses is useful but not necessary as long as you are happy to care for them. You will live as part of the family - during your stay, our home will be your home. We are a married couple living on a property with our DOGS, HORSES and an elderly but treasured chicken. Depending on the time of year, we also run a small scale rescue and rehabilitation centre for hedgehogs. There are stunning views looking out over a Devon Wildlife Nature Reserve and beautiful countryside. We live in a very attractive rural area of Devon on the outskirts of a beautiful old village called DOLTON (please look on "Google Maps") about a 45 minute drive from Dartmoor National Park. Gardening, housework, light mechanical, a bit of hunting, all sorts of things, never boring.A wicked sense of humor is a good asset to bring. handy to Routeburn and Greenstone tracks. You will need your own internet connection as I don't supply wifi. A bit isolated, not for the precious, no trophy hunters!! Please don't apply unless you intend to come for a minimum stay of two weeks. One person only. We do not get involved with internships or visa applications. Vegetarians and vegans would probably not be comfortable as we eat meat daily. I am off grid and totally dependent on solar, so you have to charge your devices during the day and definitely no hairdryers! Accommodation is a house bus in warmer weather or a room in the house in winter, not shared usually. Lastly I also play the guitar (badly) and sing (worse) but it's all about smile not style :-) , please don't come if you have a heavy cold or flu, I'm involved with the elderly. Cheers Al

HAPPY end of SUMMER 2026. Autumn is creeping up quickly… Lots to do before the rainy season kick in towards the end of the year… Things have been moving along, slow but meticulously! It feels good to be making progress and I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel…on my sailboat. There are plenty of volunteer opportunities; a lot to do, at any skill level. Many projects take only 5-30 minutes to explain and easy for someone new to do the specific project well. Other projects require knowledgeable skills and other projects necessitate someone that has a fair amount of specific experience. Anyone that volunteers on my sailboat can join me sailing once my boat is back in the water later this year or at some other point in the future! I anticipate my boat will be back in the water by late Autumn. If this interest you, or you have questions, contact me through HelpX or call me direct via my mobile phone (also WhatsApp number). Below is a list of some of the projects I ...

Welcome! Our family owned and operated certified organic livestock farm in North Central British Columbia is excited to have you stay and become a part of everything we have going on. We’ve been operating since 2008, primarily raising Berkshire pigs, Dexter cattle, Katahdin sheep, laying hens, broiler chickens and of course bronze breasted turkeys for thanksgiving and Christmas. On top of that, we’re home to two Labrador retrievers (Ned and Nelly), 3 outdoor cats, and a family of Muscovy ducks. In other words, you will never find yourself not in the company of animals! Aside from livestock, we have recently built a small farm store / café that cooks the meat raised on the farm. We also take pride in creating all recipes from scratch, from the sauces to the buns of the burgers. Currently only operating during the summer months, 3 days per week. It’s been a lot of work, but a great way to get more people out to the farm, eating good food and connecting with the community. We also proce...

After years of searching for a sanctuary to connect with nature, regenerate, co-create, and share knowledge, we feel deeply blessed to have found our home: an oasis of one hectare right next to the Jarama River. We are opening our doors to those who believe in a harmonious way of life. Here, we honor Father Sun for our energy, and we are dedicated to bringing life back to beautiful trees that were abandoned for a decade. Together, we will care for them,100 olive trees, vineyards, almond, chestnut, pear, pomegranate trees and many others. Living in perfect symbiosis with the abundance around us. As we have just moved into our oasis, there is love and labor needed in almost every corner! Every pair of hands is welcome. We need help fixing the swimming pool, pruning, cleaning, caring for the trees, painting… We will be happy to include any new proposals that resonate with the land and the community. Welcome to my farm! I live in the country, in a big farm, nearby the city of Montpellier, 5km away and 15 min from the Mediterranean Sea. I was a host many years ago and had great experience with helpers from all different countries and various ages.At the time I had the project of restoring a part of a building into an apartment, it was good fun and the result is very cosy. I lived in Spain, England, Ghana and California then settled down in the family farm. Again now I would like to welcome helpers to work around the farm, trimming bushes, raking, planting veggies, etc..... I offer an independent little house with wooden stove, kitchen and bathroom, set between the yard and vineyard. Both my daughters live away but come regularly. I am French and speak good English. I'm waiting for your questions, hoping to exchange, Take care, Isabelle

ENGLISH VERSION Here we live in an ancient school in the mountains of north Ardeche (1350m) ! My name is Etienne (35years old) and i live there since two years with Lena (27years old) who joined me two years ago and many people who join us throughout the year. Actually we are approximatly 7 to 10 people living here . it's a pretty remote place (closest supermarket is 30 min driving) but there is often people passing by (friends, neighbor, unkowns...). Most of the place is in a good state but there is still some work to do(paintings, coating, roof fixing, isolation...), so we would need a little help for the place to be able to welcome more people, and make our daily life better. The amout of work needed from helpers would be pretty low (around one or two hours a day), We want a little help but we want at first sharing our life with new people and have a good time. We dont have so much money and we try to repair the School with less euros as possible, with second use materials ...

This is a busy fun jungle hostel. Our volunteers contribute their creative energy and talent at our busy jungle hostel. We are located in the Panamanian highlands (on the main road between both oceans) on more than 30 acres of rain forest (cloud forest) and re-purposed organic coffee farm. Because it is one of the only pieces of titled land, the community is looking to us alone to develop tourism. We are the deepest private reserve within the La Fortuna nature park. We host backpackers, volunteers, scientists, nature enthusiasts, birders etc. Because we want to employ as many persons from the local community as possible, volunteers are not simply used to cut down our labor costs. Minimum commitment length we are looking for from volunteers is 1 month We look forward to sharing the experience of living in the jungle with you. We are in the Lonely Planet book in both the Central America on a shoestring book as well as the Panama book. Our hostel has very favorable reviews elsewhere. ...

Come to the eastern part of Germany and join our life. Please read our profile in detail first before you send us a message. We are a family of 3: Kerstin (58), Carsten (58) and Christopher (31). We live in a village on an estate that was a farm in the past. The village is situated 60 km from Dresden, 100 km from Leipzig and 170 km from Berlin in a national park. We have cats that live with us, too. We invite you into our home and accept you as part of our family. We do our best to make you feel at home and appreciate any additional assistance. If you join us it will be fun, promise. Our place is for genuine travellers who want to learn more about Germany and experience staying with an East German family. It is not for those looking just for food and accommodation. Important: We often share meals together, depending on our schedules. This is not a full-board arrangement, so volunteers should be able to plan and provide their own food too. Much help is needed in and around the h...

Transforming a summer house into a place for living organically. Now the winter of our discontent is ending, transformed into a glorious spring by this Galician sun; and ....sometimes, the clouds that darkened our home disappear into the deep heart of the flat lands.... So it's time to get to work in the garden and lay cement in some places. Some tasks (not all) can be somewhat boring such as cutting and stacking firewood, removing, digging, collecting vegetable remains,... I appreciate the dexterity in physical and manual works and you need to be fit and able to use your strength efficiently. Hi, I'm looking for creative minds efficient bodies who would like to get involved on an sustainable country house project, with some animals and plenty of work to do. There's a protected little forest surrounding the house with small wild animals, and 6 domestic geese, chickens, dogs and two cats. I need help with many things; work on the greenhouse which I have designed by myself, plant...

We are in the process of renovating an old house in the Pyrenees. There is only decorating to do such as stripping paint of walls and woodwork, and repainting. There might be the occasional carpentry to do also, nothing too complicated. We need help 5 hours per day, five days per week. Weeding, pruning trees, making paths. We are looking for help from two strong and healthy individuals to assist with a house redecorating project and gardening, trimming trees, path making etc. This requires physical strength and stamina. PLEASE NOTE WELL: we absolutely cannot host anyone with any pre-existing health issues, physical or mental (we are not medically trained to manage such conditions), such as hay fever, any other allergies, sensitivities or intolerances. We live in a small village with some shops and a climbing centre and a river just opposite the house. We have a quite a size garden where we grow vegetables, fruit bushes and trees. Hi beautiful people! I’m Christine, a happy spirited former language and arts teacher working across two continents. Since I retired I work in the natural health field. I live on an urban block called The Roo‘s Pouch, where I maintain a sustainable vegetable garden and created a community of nice people living with me. I live in one of the buildings on this sunny property which runs on rainwater harvesting. We avoid chlorine and contaminates by filtering, harmonizing, and energizing our own water though Ionisation. Water conservation is part of life for me. You can come to Maryborough via plane, bus or train. The Hervey Bay Airport is only 30min from my home. There are meanwhile several bus companies to choose from. If you use the train please book Maryborough town from the drop down menu. The shuttle bus from the train station in Maryborough west (20 min out of town) is free of charge if it is pre-booked. As international travelers you qualify for a concession card on Queensland tr...

We are Murielle and Luc living in Auvergne in a hamlet in the Livradois-Forez Regional Natural Park at 750 m above sea level. The house is surrounded by forests and grasslands. We live 10 mn by car from the city of Ambert and 1H15 from Clermont-Ferrand. Our life is simple. We enjoy nature, animals, gardening, and hiking with our donkeys. We like peace and quietness. We have hens, ducks, rabbits, cats, one turtle, guinea pigs and donkeys. Our pets are rescue animals and we are very attentive to their needs and well being. We also have a very small apiary. We have an association called ZIGZANES which proposes walks in the company of a donkey, donkey discovery activities for families and also animal mediation for disabled persons. If you are an animal lover, if you love nature, this is the job for you. You will help us with the care to the animals (feeding, cleaning animals and their shelters), and fence installation because not all of our land is fenced yet. We also need help to cu...

This beautiful, 2.5 hectare garden, set in the heart of Haute-Normandie Pays de Caux near the English Channel and whose light inspired the Impressionist movement, which can be loosely translated as an Arthouse garden. This is not a run of the mill HelpX destination. There is a real opportunity to learn and have a totally unique experience while staying in the 17th century Priory in the centre of the garden. Cécile, the gardening artist or artistic gardener (she conforms to both), welcomes you to join her in this artistic gardening adventure. Previous experience of gardening and some basic French are welcome but not essential as Cecile can get by in English, Spanish and German and will teach you all you need to know; the work, of course, changes with the seasons and can be a variety of brute force and delicate sensitivity but never forgetting that this is an artistic adventure and is open to the public. Help Xers are invited to food and accommodation in return for an average of 5/6 ho...

We have a double bedroom in the house and in the summer the barn is a lovely place to sleep. I have been there all summer, too hot in the house. I have two passions living with nature to create balance and food. And art of which nature plays a huge part. I am an artist and have a studio to play in. Lots of garden work and food processing . I am converting a caravan into the shower and a van into an outdoor kitchen. Come and help me with my adventure. I am re-developing my home to become a retreat where you can to start you relation with nature or renew it. The area has been allowed/left to grow and is now ready to sculpt into a peaceful, abundant, safe space to dive into the earth and all its knowledge. I have four goats to help with the clearing. There is some building work or woodwork I need help with and I would like to make the shed more usable, so plaster boarding to be done later, it is my studio and pool/play room etc.🤗

Next vacancies likely to be 2nd week of September. We appreciate help with DIY repairs and maintenance, timber work, help with gardening, housekeeing, cooking, duck and chicken rearing and dog walking on the beach. Fishing, snorkelling, and rainforest walks can help occupy your spare time. We hatched two goslings in mid July and are hand-rearing them, real characters! We start 4 hours outside work at 08.00 hr, five mornings a week and at 9 am on Sundays. Saturday is your day off. So most of the work will be outside, based out of a well-equipped workshop and/or in our vegetable garden and hen and duck coops. Opportunities on your day off include fishing, sailing, snorkeling, weather permitting of course, rainforest walks and river swimming (Mossman River at The Gorge) and free nature tours on crocodile spotting boats on the Daintree River with the #Daintreerivercruisecentre (as Dave sometimes drives their boats and tour-guides for them when needed). Good morning;. I write a review for each helper after they have been here helping me. I know many helpers and hosts do not do that but I do. Like host and helper information that is often very uninformative, I feel it is important to have an opinion and I hope for one in return. I went on the Wagon Train in Montana like I have since 1983. We had a bad wreck, I got hurt. Please come help me. I will need help September onwards and over the winter please. If you can come anytime in that time period it sure would be appreciated. The helper who had been here just over 3 years [yes years],moved . He works in town full time, stayed here for free and helped with chores. I have had 4 really great helpers already this year and 1 vanishing act. Too funny. Not as much to do as most years. Painting will get done this year. That is outside on the little buildings. If it ever stops raining. 2 barn doors need repairs. Please respond when I send an invitation. I wait and wait and so many do not rep...

There may be a cancellation, but these are very rare, but if you are in the area, reach out, we love to chat :) As well as the normal homesteading tasks, if you want to learn about wine making, bee keeping, jewellery making, or take some self defence lessons we could be a great match.

Cheers Al

If you love creativity, deep connections, and sharing from the heart, you will feel r...

Our hostel has very favorable reviews elsewhere. ...

We are a cultural and arts community that is working towards being self-sustained. The community is situated in the mountains of Monchique, Portugal surrounded by nature. Our community provides an alternative way of living with permaculture gardens, farm animals, sustainability projects, and arts and cultural workshops. It is a great place to come to meet other like-minded people if you are passionate about sustainability and alternative living. We hold community meetings throughout the week alongside activities and workshops, such as quiz nights, dance nights and yoga classes. If you have something you are passionate about and want to share with others, we would love for you to run a workshop. One of the best things here is the variety of tasks you can do as a volunteer, which gives you the opportunity to learn new skills and discover what you enjoy doing most.

We are looking for help from two strong and healthy individuals to assist with a house redecorating project and gardening, trimming trees, path making etc. This requires physical strength and stamina.

Hello we are Esther and Benjamin, I'm Welsh and Ben is French, in our early 40's. We have a sheep farm, we have 250 sheep and we grow lamb. The sheep spend the summer months in the pyrenees mountains with shephards and lamb in the autumn when they come back down.. it is a very rewarding job. The majority is outdoors and varies depending the season, a lifestyle choice and everyday is different. We have 3 dogs, 2 work dogs (border collie) and 1 guard dog (patou) who lives full time with the sheep. There are horses, a mule, chickens, young fruit trees and a potentially big veg garden ! Our house is a self build cob house and is not completely finished (extension, rendering outside, terrace) we have a cute caravan for accomadation, a room in our neighbours house, a camping spot to pitch your own tent, flat and shady or a park up for van. We use dry compost toilets, at the house we have shower etc and outdoor solar shower during the sunny months! We expect you to participate in every aspe...
