We are a cultural and arts community that is working towards being self-sustained. The community is situated in the mountains of Monchique, Portugal surrounded by nature. Our community provides an alternative way of living with permaculture gardens, farm animals, sustainability projects, and arts and cultural workshops. It is a great place to come to meet other like-minded people if you are passionate about sustainability and alternative living. We hold community meetings throughout the week alongside activities and workshops, such as quiz nights, dance nights and yoga classes. If you have something you are passionate about and want to share with others, we would love for you to run a workshop. One of the best things here is the variety of tasks you can do as a volunteer, which gives you the opportunity to learn new skills and discover what you enjoy doing most. We have a combination of short-term and long-term volunteers and on average we have between 10 to 20 volunteers and resident...

Hi, we’re Terry (64) & Tricia (56)! We live on a beautiful 5 acre lifestyle property in Yandaran, about 35 km north of Bundaberg. Yandaran is a small rural village surrounded by farmland, offering a relaxed country atmosphere. We love showing people around our wonderful area - you can enjoy fishing, catching mud crabs, exploring freshwater river crossings, and visiting a beautiful beach only minutes away. We’re looking for some help putting the finishing touches on our property- small fencing jobs for animal yards, establishing lawn and garden areas and a few homestead projects. We offer accommodation in our 21 foot caravan, complete with own toilet and bathroom. We haven’t hosted for a few years, but we have previous experience as hosts and made many friends around the world because of it - and we look forward to meeting many more!

Gardening, housework, light mechanical, a bit of hunting, all sorts of things, never boring.A wicked sense of humor is a good asset to bring. handy to Routeburn and Greenstone tracks. You will need your own internet connection as I don't supply wifi. A bit isolated, not for the precious, no trophy hunters!! Please don't apply unless you intend to come for a minimum stay of two weeks. One person only. We do not get involved with internships or visa applications. Vegetarians and vegans would probably not be comfortable as we eat meat daily. I am off grid and totally dependent on solar, so you have to charge your devices during the day and definitely no hairdryers! Accommodation is a house bus in warmer weather or a room in the house in winter, not shared usually. Lastly I also play the guitar (badly) and sing (worse) but it's all about smile not style :-) , please don't come if you have a heavy cold or flu, I'm involved with the elderly. Cheers Al

Hello from the beautiful Dandenong I am a self-employed ARTIST in a very colourful home. I have 1 dog and 2 lovely human housemates. EXPECTATIONS Enthusiastic, trustworthy English-speaking helpers who enjoy a laugh, are practical and can work INDEPENDENTLY. There are several varied DIY projects on the go. Most of the work is outside, you need to be physically fit and prepared for manual labour. I look forward to hearing from travellers who can help with limited instructions, unsupervised and have a passion for gardening, fence repair, building and DIY projects. Do you know how to use a drill, a drop saw, a sander and an angle grinder? Garden maintenance duties include but not limited to: use a whipper snipper to tidy garden edges; rake leaves; hand weed, digging, collecting fallen branches and sticks off the ground. Gather fire wood, cut and stack. Help burn garden waste. Plant new or potted plants, spread mulch on garden beds. Helping around the house and other odd jobs that come ...

Next vacancies likely to be 2nd week of September. We appreciate help with DIY repairs and maintenance, timber work, help with gardening, housekeeing, cooking, duck and chicken rearing and dog walking on the beach. Fishing, snorkelling, and rainforest walks can help occupy your spare time. We hatched two goslings in mid July and are hand-rearing them, real characters! We start 4 hours outside work at 08.00 hr, five mornings a week and at 9 am on Sundays. Saturday is your day off. So most of the work will be outside, based out of a well-equipped workshop and/or in our vegetable garden and hen and duck coops. ‍ Opportunities on your day off include fishing, sailing, snorkeling, weather permitting of course, rainforest walks and river swimming (Mossman River at The Gorge) and free nature tours on crocodile spotting boats on the Daintree River with the #Daintreerivercruisecentre (as Dave sometimes drives their boats and tour-guides for them when needed). Spring is upon us & it is wonderful to see the plants “spring” into growth! BUT so are the weeds. 🫩 so we need help to weed & mulch, prune and plant. After our trip to Alice Springs to attend the Australian Native Plants biennial national conference we are enthused to improve our garden diversity. Please contact us if you want to experience our garden and hospitality like so many HelpX helpers have over the last few years. ENJOY THE FREEDOM & BEAUTY OF SOUTH GIPPSLAND. Property is a botanic garden of Australian native plants, many rare or endangered, plus an acre of plants for cut flowers, mainly proteas, banksias and tea trees. Lots of wildlife. We need help with weeding, mowing, mulching, planting and general clean up as the property is too big for the two of us to maintain. Accommodation is very comfortable, private, with fully set up kitchen in a studio style cottage with a queen size bed and smart TV. Recently installed a new electric oven with airfry function. Cool little Beach Village near Wellington Kia Ora everyone I’m currently looking for help with cat, garden and house care from about September 21st to October 7th. We can take up to three people for the garden part which is first - it’s physical work digging, weeding, mulching, so you need to be fairly strong and fit and ideally experienced. The exchange is food and accomodation, for about 4 1/2 hours work a day. That’s from around September 21st to the 29th. Then I’m away for a week from September 29th and there are five gorgeous cats to care for (and they will care for you too). This part would suit one person who loves cats and who is ok with spending time on their own. As well as cat care, it’s day to day house care, while I’m away and the exchange is accommodation only. You would need to be reliable and happy to keep to a routine with the cats, feeding them and playing with them, which probably about 2 hours a day. I need future help with ongoing practical projects - ma...

Would like to learn and look after a vineyard and winery this season, no experience is necessary. Established in 1998 and hosting HELPXers for over 15 years, it is the only certified organic winery in the Perth region. It is situated in the Swan Valley, 7km from Elenbrook and 15km from the Perth airport. The vineyard has 3,000 vines, a large house we live in, a machinery shed, and a winery/distillery on the property. Winemaking occurs during the summer months from January to March. A large, spacious room with a double bed, attached to the house, has a private entrance. Applications for mature couples as applicants are now open. Opportunities for vineyard and maintenance work are available. Couples with Visitor Visas are also welcome. I want (NON-smoking and non-vaping) volunteers who wish to experience domestic, distillery, vineyard, and winemaking work. During the season, there are generally outdoor activities, such as winery and vine work, plus gardening if it is not raining o...

My husband and I moved to this 240 acre farm in the South Burnett Region of South East Qld 2 years ago and have recently moved into a purpose built cottage (to reduce our footprint) relying on rainwater for the house and bore water for the gardens and to reduce our footprint further we have installed a composting toilet. 40 fruit trees have been planted and raised garden beds made which is the start of our edible oasis. Next on the jobs list is creating wicking beds from IBC totes and fencing the house yard for our two Jack Russell dogs. We have an old thunder box we would like to restore to make into an outdoor composting toilet (let us know if you’re handy on the tools). There’s plenty to do and learn around the farm depending on your ability and interests. Enthusiasm is a must. There’s gardening and learning about soil health, learning how to erect barbed wire and electric fencing, animal husbandry, building, cleaning and general maintenance. There’s always something different g...

We are an operating farm. Mostly silviculture. We farm mostly trees. We are situated in one of the largest Cork Tree areas in the world.Mediterranean forest ecoystems are considered one of the most important ecosystems right after Virgin Forests. We also have lots of pine trees both for lumber and also for pine nuts. Cork and pine nut trees are a very sustainable resource as their lifespan is over 200 years and they produce cork and pine nuts during that time. We pride ourselves for being an environmentally responsible farm and we enjoy teaching volunteers and visitors about what we do. We are a Forest Stewardship Council certified farm. FSC is a worldwide recognized organization that certifies socially and environmentally respectful organizations like ours, that harbour and follow, strict guidelines for workers, neighbouring populations and the environment. We are audited on a regular basis. Need helpers NOW in beautiful, sunny Marlborough! In return for 4 hours help a day I offer you accommodation and all meals in a sunny, warm home where you will have your own bedroom (queen size bed) and own bathroom with the added privacy of being in a separate wing of my house. My sunny home sits atop a hill from which you will have a magnificent view of the township of Blenheim to Cook Strait and the hills of the North Island beyond. Of course if you would prefer to work a full day in order to have a day off in which you could explore the nearby Marlborough Sounds, cycle the wine trails, or walk or climb on any of the formed tracks in this area, that would be just fine. My 40 ha property is a sheep/beef farm most of which is leased. I tend a large garden and care for the drive and tracks, drainage and irrigation and deal with fallen trees. It is help with this work I require.. Therefore most of the work is outdoor, constantly varied, not difficult, with some indoors work on occ...

The work can be physically demanding at times and happens mostly outdoors. This suits people who enjoy being active, working with tools, and taking responsibility for practical tasks. Experience is helpful but not essential if you’re capable, attentive, and willing to learn. We’re an easygoing married couple who value clear communication, mutual respect, and a straightforward...

Aloha and welcome to my Hawaiian-owned and operated farmstay, a small, homesteading project rooted in Native Hawaiian values, sustainability, and a true farm-to-table way of life. My goal is to grow, harvest, and share food directly from the ʻāina, providing nourishment for ourselves and our La Hui. while learning how to live simply, mindfully, and in harmony with the land. Situated on one acre on the east side of Hawaii. This māla produces tropical fruits, heirloom vegetables, and fresh eggs, all cultivated with care, presence, and respect for indigenous land stewardship practices. Helpers are invited to participate in planting, tending, harvesting, and preparing meals together, gaining hands-on knowledge of self-sufficiency, food sovereignty, and sustainable living. This is not a tourist experience, but a cultural exchange centered on healing through food, community, and Mālama i ke ʻĀina—caring for the land so it may care for us in return.

Hello travellers, and a warm welcome to beautiful Olinda - I am Vita and delighted to host you. **Currently seeking Helper/s who can work in the garden or use a chainsaw to cut fire wood. Or a carpenter who can help repair weather damaged external timber windows. Or someone with mechanical experience to service chainsaw and lawn mowers. Or a Helper with sewing skills and can use a sewing machine. Or a helper who can restore and refinish furniture. I appreciate self-starters and Helpers with initiative, who do not always need to be told what to do and are capable of putting in a full days work. Weeding and garden work is always a go-to if you are waiting instructions. Helpers will sometimes be left to work by themselves as I don’t always have time to supervise them. Therefore, Helpers who can help with l...

PLEASE READ MY WHOLE HOST PROFILE BEFORE YOU APPLY TO VISIT MY PLACE AND ASK ABOUT ANYTHING YOUR NOT CLEAR ON. Need help with a garden clean up, at the moment. You don't need to have an overwhelming desire to save the world, live off the land, or be more useful than a Swiss army knife, to stay here. A nice honest person is good enough. This is a relaxing place, close to nature, away from the backpacker trail on the coast but still got a bit happening, somewhere to recharge your batteries, do a bit of work, have a laugh and meet some real Aussies, maybe get out of your comfort zone a bit😜 My place is a cattle farm with one rough headed(inside and out 🤣,) skinny, old farmer, one dog, some cattle, lots of birds and wildlife, relaxing place, near Kyogle, a quiet country town. It is 1.5 hours drive west from Byron Bay, 2 hours south of Brisbane by train. Very close to the beautiful Border Ranges National Park (bike ride away). I like to show people around. Hello, we are Karin and Joost a dynamic couple living in the beautiful Adelaide Hills 50km from Adelaide and 10km from Mount Barker. Our home is on a 30-ha rural property where we have been for 25 years initially with our 3 children (now adults) now only shared with our lovely cat Alfie. We have a large garden (veggies & flowers) and a small orchard surrounded by paddocks and bushland. You can make long walks on our property and along the Mount Barker Creek enjoying a typical South Australian semi-arid landscape and abundance of wildlife. Or just sit on the porch observing mobs of kangaroos and a great variety of birds set against beautiful views into the valley incl. spectacular sun rises.  A separate ‘granny’ flat is available as accommodation which includes 2 rooms and little lounge. We regularly go back and forward to Mount Barker and if you are without own transportation you can this way enjoy cafes, shops and cinema plus connection by direct bus to Adelaide. In exchange for acco...

At present, we aim to help 4 public elementary schools (grades 1 - 6) close to Chiang Mai. We are currently taking applications for volunteers who would available to start mid-November and commit to at least 8 weeks . We are looking for volunteers to teach English only. Couples are welcome as well. NOTE: We do not charge volunteers any fees for staying with us. The generous gift of your time and dedication is all the donation we will ask of you. Plenty going on during summer, shearing, stock work, fencing, weed control, garden tidying, lawn mowing, lots of tractor driving etc. It would be great to have some strong keen helpers to help fix fences and do some building work. (La description en français se trouve plus bas !) We are a small Buddhist community living in the forest close to Sainte-Julienne, Quebec. We have an organic fruit tree nursery, along with many other projects on our land: several fruit orchards, chickens and bees, growing our own vegetables and herbs and trying to be independent in many ways. The six people who are staying are: Ajan, Eric, Veronique, Elisabeth, Natalie and Camille. Each of us have arrived here one by one, at first just interested in helping out in the place, and then as we found that this lifestyle was for us, deciding to stay for longer. For part of the year we also have a couple of employees staying with us. There is also a wonderful dog named Dali. Our organic nursery and garden occupies a land of 9 hectares, surrounded by forest. As well as the main land of the nursery, we have another smaller land where a few of us live. This is, in fact, where the community started to grow from very small beginnings in the ear...

We are establishing a m...

I appreciate self-starters and Helpers with initiative, who do not always need to be told what to do and are capable of putting in a full days work.

This is an exciting opportunity to have an experience that will stay with you throughout your life. Our Foundation aims at helping rural children receive a qualitative outstanding education. We have a volunteer teaching program to assist rural teachers and children get exposure to foreign languages and cultures. Because English is the second language in Thai schools, we concentrate on improving the English language skills of both rural teachers and children. We live in a small historic village north of Auckland called Puhoi in a charming old farmhouse with a large flower garden. Our property is surrounded by native bush, loads of native birds and we also have several native eels in the river at the back of the property that come to see us when we walk down to visit them. Walking distance from our home is the Puhoi Pub, a general store and a local kayaking hire business. The village is also on the the Te Araroa walkway, we are also just a short drive to many beautiful parks and beaches. Looking for a couple or two friends to stay for 5 days with the opportunity to stay longer if things work out well. We are offering accommodation and meals in exchange for 4 - 5 hours general gardening and housework a day. Happy to share the cooking for anyone that loves to cook! We eat a variety of food and are accommodating to our guests that are vegetarian. If you are staying for longer than a week we ask that you work 5 days and have two days o...

Looking for Helpers right through busy summer and autumn months. Plenty going on during summer, shearing, stock work, fencing, weed control, garden tidying, lawn mowing, lots of tractor driving etc. It would be great to have some strong keen helpers to help fix fences and do some building work. Our family of 4 (2 kids - 16 & 18 years old) live on a beautiful sheep and beef farm with large woodland garden and organic vegetable garden. We need help with stock work, general farming tasks, gardening, cooking etc. We're 40 minutes from Nelson, 15 minutes from Motueka. It's an idyllic rural setting with excellent access to rivers, mountains, mountain biking, Abel Tasman & Kahurangi National Parks etc. with easy access to some of the best fly fishing rivers in NZ (and the world!) There's 4-6 hours work per day depending on tasks. Plenty of flexibility to work full days and have plenty of time off to explore. Please be aware you may get hot, wet, muddy, dusty and dirty but rest assured ...
