In April our few cows are calving and we often complete some small building projects and fix fences on the pastures In May we may be doing field work the fields and we also plant the vegetable garden in May and June. In July we are haying, building and fixing fences, gardening, hand pulling invasive weed species, harvesting garlic. There are tasks for all skill levels and strengths so don't be afraid to join us. We grow organic table grapes, a few fruit trees, chickens and a few pigs. This is a real farm experience, mostly working in the vineyard, with some fun too. There is biking to town, swimming in the ocean or our lake, fishing, basketball, volleyball, hiking, nature walks, beach strolling and look for fossils at Blue Beach, camp fires , rope swing in our little lake, take in the fantastic views, sunsets, star gazing, internet, phone and go to nearby towns such as Wolfville and Hantsport as well as the rest of the Annapolis Valley with the local bus. Gardening, housework, light mechanical, a bit of hunting, all sorts of things, never boring.A wicked sense of humor is a good asset to bring. handy to Routeburn and Greenstone tracks. We have an organic farm at Oldcastle where we host Wwoofers too.There we have lots of different roles from house keeping to vegetable gardening, foraging, admin, cooking, animal husbandry, sewing carpentry building work etc. Tasks vary and very much depend on ability and skill sets At our location in Dunshauglin we are only looking for help with housework cleaning and childcare and sometimes gardening.
