My husband usually does this, but his back has big problems now, so he can't, and I (the lady farmer here) am not strong enough. Coming sometime in September or early October 2026. This has to be finised ca. October 15., as we stable the sheep then. If you want to stay longer, we have more things to do on the farm, so you'd be very welcome to stay to the end of October if you'd like. I have recently moved to the beautiful north east coast of Tasmania and am in need of some help around the property - garden and landscaping work. We have a sleepout available with a queen bed and two single beds that will suit either a couple or friends as long as they dont mind sharing a room. It’s important that you can understand English well ,for your safety. At the moment, we have several animals on the property: 9 cows and calfs of mixed ages, sheep with lambs, laying chickens (chooks) four different breeds, baby chickens,, 2 friendly large dogs, 1 cat, and 5 turtles. Our animals live stress-free lives and aren't afraid of people. I would like that to stay this way, no fear property. If you feel nervous around animals, I will likely keep you away from them until you feel comfortable. We are a family living in the beautiful village of Herand in the middle of Hardanger. We live close to the fjord and have an accounting firm and a software company that we live off of + some rental of beds in the summer. We have a small greenhouse and a small farm where we have some vegetables. Summer is a busy time and we need 2-3 positive people to help us with different work. We live by the harbour, and have a small farm 2 km away. We have boats, kayaks, canoes and paddleboards. You can use a cabin in the mountains if you wish. The area is well suited for walking or cycling. Normal working hours are 4-5 hours per day.

Gardening, housework, light mechanical, a bit of hunting, all sorts of things, never boring.A wicked sense of humor is a good asset to bring. handy to Routeburn and Greenstone tracks. You will need your own internet connection as I don't supply wifi. A bit isolated, not for the precious, no trophy hunters!! Please don't apply unless you intend to come for a minimum stay of two weeks. One person only. We do not get involved with internships or visa applications. Vegetarians and vegans would probably not be comfortable as we eat meat daily. I am off grid and totally dependent on solar, so you have to charge your devices during the day and definitely no hairdryers! Accommodation is a house bus in warmer weather or a room in the house in winter, not shared usually.
