Back in time... back to nature Hi there. We are a family of ... well, at least 4 people, plus our cat, goat, sheep, bees, hens and roosters. In the spring of 2023, we finally found a place to call our home. Even though it is at the beginning of a longer process of being beautiful, cosy, lovable, ... We put ourselves into a challenge of living here, even in harsh conditions as they are here at this point: - It's in a remote place with only 1 close neighbour (@ 30 m from us). The other families live approx. 400 and 600m away, and others are even further away. - No running water yet. But there is a spring not so far away from where we get water, and we filter it for drinking or use it for washing dishes/clothes or ourselves (outside). And also a well. - People who previously lived (I wouldn't be afraid of saying 'squatted ') here left an unbelievable mess and enormous quantities of trash. So much so that it was hard to enter the house. We are slowly cleaning the place and separating...

Gardening, housework, light mechanical, a bit of hunting, all sorts of things, never boring.A wicked sense of humor is a good asset to bring. handy to Routeburn and Greenstone tracks. You will need your own internet connection as I don't supply wifi. A bit isolated, not for the precious, no trophy hunters!! Please don't apply unless you intend to come for a minimum stay of two weeks. One person only. We do not get involved with internships or visa applications. Vegetarians and vegans would probably not be comfortable as we eat meat daily. I am off grid and totally dependent on solar, so you have to charge your devices during the day and definitely no hairdryers! Accommodation is a house bus in warmer weather or a room in the house in winter, not shared usually. Lastly I also play the guitar (badly) and sing (worse) but it's all about smile not style :-) , please don't come if you have a heavy cold or flu, I'm involved with the elderly. Cheers Al

We are getting our property ready to sell and need some help with cleaning, gardening and repairs to get it looking nice. Our house has a seperate self contained 2 bedroom space with a full bathroom and basic cooking facilities that you can stay in. You'll have your own private space in exchange for helping us out around the house for half a day each day. One room has a king bed and another has a queen. This would suit a couple, or friends. The space is rented on airbnb so we need to time it around exisiting bookings. Staying for 3 or 4 nights or more would be great. Our house is 15 mins walk from Angels Beach in East Ballina. We are a couple from Canada and NZ with an 8 year old child. We both work full time so need help to get our place looking nice. We have used Helpx quite a lot in the past. Please get in touch if you'd like to help out.

I can't see the world, but the world can come see me. First and foremost, I want to thank all the helpers who came from United Kingdom-England, France, Belgium, Italy, China, Japan, Australia and New Zealand. Welcome Helpers. We are a family of 5 living in the Appalachian Mountains of West Virginia. Sue is the founder of Peaceful Hollow. Her daughter Ruth moved to the Hollow later as well as her husband Tim and their 2 daughters. Our hollow is quite with no neighbors in sight. There are no city lights, and you can see every star on a clear night! Our homestead consists of Sue's workshop/cabin, Tim & Ruth's cabin and one very small guest cabin. Also, there is a private guestroom with private entrance on the second floor above the workshop/cabin combination. . We have a lot you can be involved in, knowledge to share, friendships to build, and opportunities for growth. Below are our routines and some projects. We would love to involve you! - Caring for our honey bees, chickens,...

Hi! We are a young couple, 25 and 26 years old, living on a sheep farm in the beautiful Reykhólasveit area in Westfjords Iceland. We have 450 sheep, 3 dogs, and 3 cats. We also take care of an eider duck colony. During the summer, the colony needs to be checked twice, and the eiderdown has to be collected, weighed, and taken for cleaning. A typical winter day involves feeding the sheep and making sure everything is running smoothly. There are always plenty of tasks to be done, both planned and unexpected. Spring is lambing season, which means we're on call 24/7. Tasks include monitoring the sheep, assisting with births when needed, cleaning, bottle-feeding lambs, tagging them, and eventually turning them out to pasture. You don't need to know how to do everything—we're happy to teach. What matters most is a genuine interest and a willingness to learn. Summer is haymaking season, along with a variety of general farm tasks and maintenance work. In the fall, the sheep are gathered fr...

We have an automotive country workshop where we fix and service cars, 4WDs, trailers, tractors and all sorts of machinery. In our spare time we look after our little farm, some sheep, some cattle and rabbits. We also have a forest where we work and tidy up occasionally. So we are always in need of a couple of helpful hands to support us. We love to get to know different cultures and people. We grow our own meat, fruit and vegetables. Gustav also brews his own beer and makes wine and cider and lately also green tea. A mature, non-smoking, self-organized person, preferable not a vegetarian, to give us a hand with house and land, would fit best into our lifestyle. You will have to join into our daily routines: breakfast is at around 7am and then we feed all the animals, especially the hungry dogs and work starts at 8am. We need to get everyone organized before customers arrive in the workshop. We expect about 4 hours work per day and we offer a nice room with a lovely warm bed, gr...

I am a principal of a primary school. We have so far 35 foster kids and we would love to have volunteers in our small organisation and at our school. We welcome visitors here and if you want, we can pick you from the airport Entebbe and you can just pay the fuel or when you are already in Uganda and you want to come to Masaka, we can pick you from the bus park in Masaka for free. We are still searching for HelpX for the upcoming NSW school holidays from Sunday 26th June until Sunday 20th July 2026. Some of this time we plan to be away, so it would involve looking after our animals then, including our friendly dog :) I can provide HelpX exchange, nice indoor accommodation in a light filled room with a Queen bed, a weekly yoga class, English conversation and organic meals in exchange for 5 hours HelpX per day x 5 days per week. This includes a variety of tasks with 2-3 hours project work of your interest each weekday Mon - Thursday and Friday being cleaning day. Flexible timing as to when your hours are volunteered and have the weekends off to explore the beautiful area! My family moved to a riverside farm property several years ago. We live here with our rescue dog, chickens, geese, ducks and elderly cat! We are in the beginning stages of planning and implementing a small productive permaculture fruit, vegetable, tea and flower farm based upon a mix of per...

Update, possible accommodation available for kiwifruit staff. My caravan is available, not fancy but clean & waterproof. I'm a beekeeper in need of assistance, either with the bees directly or not. I'm located 16km South of Te Puke on a property that has a back boundary of native forest. I'm usually able to host people at any time of year, but am busiest in the spring. I currently have building projects happening, as well as lots of painting, waxing new bee frames, and also hands on beekeeping for anyone who is keen. I also keep sheep and cattle on the property here, and hunt deer and pigs in the forest. These grass and forest fed animals form a large part of the menu here, so vegetarians probably won`t be happy with the diet. I cater to lots of herbivores and they all have hooves or paws. The accommodation is a spare room in the house. The house is a late 1800s villa in need of replacement, but it keeps the weather out and I find it comfortable. Housework isn't high on my priority ...

We are a certified organic farm operating since 2004 and producing mostly a wide diversity of seed crops as well as Spring and Fall vegetable starts, soft fruit plants, and many native plants. We now have 260 +different seed varieties, including kale, tomatoes and many new potato varieties that we have bred and selected here - very exciting. We have even created 2 new apple varieties and a berry! While we prefer helpers who can do a longer stay (2-8 weeks is ideal), we do sometimes offer a placement for shorter term, especially in our busy growing season. It can take a lot of our time to train someone to work well with these seed crops in the greenhouses and gardens, and the farm has a nicer feel when folks stay for longer and we all get to know each other and have the time to enjoy working as a team. :-). If you are a helper who has some farming experience, or who is passionate about working with plants, and you will apply the learning that you do here in your own future farming ...

24/05/26 - I'm looking for someone to start as soon as possible for a week or more. The main jobs at the moment are weeding, planting, log & painting. The weather right now is amazing so a great time to be out in the garden! I live in a 5 bedroom house (a work in progress) with a large garden & lovely views. My son & daughter (age 24 & 23) also live locally & occasionally visit to help out. We need someone to help with the weeding, landscaping and other gardening when the weather is fine & do some housework and DIY when it's not (especially painting and cleaning). In return you'll have your own room, TV and WiFi and be well fed as we love cooking and baking! You will need to be fit & strong, like hard work & preferably know the difference between a weed & a (wanted) plant. A good dash of common sense will also go a long way. Must be a non smoker & I am afraid that I cannot host vegans. Either a single person or a couple is welcome. Helping hours would be around 4-5 hours a d...

Kia ora, travellers! Haere mai - welcome to my whare (home) in beautiful Honeymoon Valley, surrounded by native rainforest, birds and insects. We built this eco-earth house using local clay from right under our feet. This land used to be just grass, but after 30 years of caring for this whenua, it now has mature trees, orchards, and organic gardens. Life here is peaceful and quiet, perfect for enjoying nature I am part of the local landcare group, helping protect our native forest, birds, lizards, and insects. We trap predators and remove invasive weeds. You could help with organic/permaculture gardening: vegetables, flowers, herbs, fruit trees, chickens, mowing, brush-cutting, compost-making, maintenance and fixing things (basic carpentry, painting), sewing, cleaning, chopping firewood. I bake bread. I make apple cider vinegar, bottle fruit, jam, chutney, sauerkraut, and collect seeds. The current to-do list includes building a structure in front of two doors to keep the rain out, mo...

I'm looking for someone with a sense of adventure to join me on a cross-Canada road trip from Nova Scotia to Kamsack, Saskatchewan. I'm hoping to leave sometime between the end of June and mid-July. A little about me... I'm a wheelchair user traveling with my friendly dog and three well-loved cats. I don't need personal care, just someone willing to lend a hand with the everyday things that make a long road trip easier. I do drive, so having a driver's license is a bonus, but it's not a requirement. If you enjoy driving, I'd be happy to share the wheel. If you don't drive, that's okay too—I can handle the driving. What I really need is help with loading my lightweight wheelchair, walking the dog, caring for the pets, setting up camp if needed, and the little day-to-day tasks that come with traveling across Canada. Because we're traveling with four pets, finding accommodations isn't always easy. Some places don't accept multiple pets, while others charge very high fees. If we can't fin...

🌿 Creating an Art, Vegan Cuisine, and Nature-Filled Community in the Ida Mountains! (Looking for Volunteer Friends) Hey Wanderlust Souls! In Edremit, Balıkesir, at the foot of the mythological Mount Ida (Kaz Mountains), we have built a brand-new living space in the heart of a historical olive grove: Bakla Kamp. This is not just a classic campsite where you pitch a tent; it is an isolated sanctuary where music, art, healthy living, and collective production meet. We are located completely away from city noise, yet very close to rivers and the sea. This season, we will host live performances on our outdoor stage, creative recordings in our professional music studio, and amazing workshops led by expert instructors. What’s more, we are highly confident in our food, featuring an incredibly delicious plant-based (vegan) menu prepared by our expert chef straight from our stone oven! ✨ What’s Happening at Our Camp? During your volunteer stay, you can share your energy with us in the foll...

I live in a beautiful part of the Coromandel, near a small village called Kuaotunu, which is only 5 minutes to some lovely beaches. My home is surrounded by bush with a beautiful stream going through it, that generates the power I need. I also have solar power and solar hot water heating. We grow our own veggies and have cows and a cat and three gold fish. now only two the cat ate one The land has a hill that gives awesome views out to the ocean and lovely bush walks has a meditation spot .. One of the things we do is collect sea food to make yummy meals. i have a self contained chalet, with a log fire. We do all sorts of jobs like gardening, building projects and what ever comes along. If you have a special skill that could help me in my home or property, let me know.... and of course socializing, conversation and music with a nice glass of wine, all in a relaxed way of life. Kia ora We are Walter and Julia and together we have an eight year old daughter Clara. We live in Glenbervie Whangarei on a 11ha lifestyle block. We milk our own house cows (raw dairy is part of our daily diet). We also have beef cattle, chickens, a dog and one cat. We have one property in town which we run as a guesthouse and we occasionally need help to keep gardens tidy and general housekeeping. But main tasks will be on our lifestyle block. Help needed with: * fencing * moving stock * feeding calves * gardening (mainly leaf raking at this time of the year), weeding, weed spraying * gutter clearing * window cleaning * painting a barn And lots of other things. An open mind and enthusiasm are key attributes we're looking for in our helpers. Our place is great for people who would like to learn more about raw milk and how to process milk into butter, cheese or ice cream. Yum! We ask for 8h/day with next day off. Meals and bedroom with shared bathroom provided. Beautiful quiet pr...

We are restoring an old traditional Béarnaise house located at the foot of the Pyrenees in the Ouzom valley. We want to share it with people who can help us with the garden as well as with the house to maintain or restore it. Assistance activities concern the maintenance or restoration of buildings (lime plaster, carpentry, plumbing, electricity, etc), maintenance of the garden (brush clearing) and its vegetable garden, whether it is windy or raining, depending on the projects in progress and the skills of each. Slug hunting to be planned every evening at nightfall. Once a week a complete cleaning of the premises will be carried out by all. We ask for 5 hours help a day, 5 days a week. We offer accommodation in a large 4-bed dormitory. Please, bring your work gloves and clothes , if you have any. Everyone must be autonomous and responsible enough to know how to clean and store the tools or things they have used, as well as to participate daily, outside helping time, in all the househo...

Nice to meet you! We are Jackelien and Gerard from The Netherlands but we live in Burgundy. We came here 24 years ago. In all these years we managed to transform a part of the vast wilderness of bush and the forest we live in, into a nice garden with lot's of water basins (including our natural swimming pool), nice terraces and funny garden houses, places to relax (including a sauna and a Hot Tub), our own vegetable garden and greenhouse. We build everything ourselves and we love to share our knowledge and work-experience with others. We can offer you a separate guesthouse with 2 bedrooms (4 beds), bathroom, living room and kitchen. Jackelien is a vegetarian and Gerard is not. Cooking is Jackelien’s biggest hobby and her specialty is Asian cuisine. Typical Dutch, French and Italian dishes are also regularly on the menu. This is a beautiful, well-hidden place where we live in a natural environment. The forest surrounds us and there a spectacular hikes, mountain bike routes and walks yo...

We live in a nature sanctuary on Corfu island in Greece. we are a COMMUNITY of PLANTS, ANIMALS AND HUMAN BEINGS, who try to live together IN THE SPIRIT OF NATURE. we are organized similar to a zen monastery. yet we are not affiliated to any religious body, but to the holy body of our mother earth. the earth takes care of us. the earth gives to us what we need. she gives us and she for-gives us – she never asks for money… we admire the communities in nature (ecosystems), where all members balance their needs and gifts in a healthy way, without money, without machines and without chemicals. here in NATURE’S SANCTUARY we try to live in harmony with nature. we try to support and protect all our nature brothers and sisters, who share this sanctuary with us… it is a CHALLENGE TO LIVE IN HARMONY WITH NATURE. it is a challenge to protect and support all nature beings in a way, that they have the chance to live in their own natural born communities. we are looking for people, who want to take...

We are in the process of renovating an old house in the Pyrenees. There is only decorating to do such as stripping paint of walls and woodwork, and repainting. There might be the occasional carpentry to do also, nothing too complicated. We need help 5 hours per day, five days per week. Weeding, pruning trees, making paths. We are looking for help from two strong and healthy individuals to assist with a house redecorating project and gardening, trimming trees, path making etc. This requires physical strength and stamina. Hi beautiful people! I’m Christine, a happy spirited former language and arts teacher working across two continents. Since I retired I work in the natural health field. I live on an urban block called The Roo‘s Pouch, where I maintain a sustainable vegetable garden and created a community of nice people living with me. I live in one of the buildings on this sunny property which runs on rainwater harvesting. We avoid chlorine and contaminates by filtering, harmonizing, and energizing our own water though Ionisation. Water conservation is part of life for me. You can come to Maryborough via plane, bus or train. The Hervey Bay Airport is only 30min from my home. There are meanwhile several bus companies to choose from. If you use the train please book Maryborough town from the drop down menu. The shuttle bus from the train station in Maryborough west (20 min out of town) is free of charge if it is pre-booked. As international travelers you qualify for a concession card on Queensland tra...

So whoever is ready to come is welcome. Due to the inflation and rise of prices of things in Uganda, we will always charge 15 dollars per night, this includes accommodation, local meals, wishing clothes, Water bills, Electricity bills and other simple things that you need help like taking you to town and move around to the place like Lake Nabugabo and for internet use at home.

Preference will be given to helpers with a genuine interest in learning about NZ dairy farming and animal husbandry. We love sharing what we do and prefer to host helpers with a desire to learn. We run a boutique dairy farm, milking a small herd of much loved cows and selling raw milk to our wonderful customers Starting a new business is hard work and not for the faint-hearted. If you consider yourself up for the challenge of helping us, we'd love to hear from you! We offer a family environment with opportunities for farm work, housework, gardening and cooking. There is a wide variety of work available. Working with the animals of course, weed control, plus fencing work, painting, carpentry, building and lots of different small tasks to complete. If outdoor work doesn't appeal, help in the house with cooking and cleaning is always appreciated, and the large and previously neglected garden also requires a lot of work. We try to fit the work to each helper's skills and interests, and ...

This is where you come when you’re finished with the norm and its systems. Thinking outside the box and voluntary simplicity inform my life. There is joy in the cycles of life. There are lambs and baby rabbits. The kale and chard are blooming to reseed. Spring is blooming and the tree frogs are singing. Im planning on creating a new chicken house this year. If you’re capable with a hammer and saw, have I got stuff for you to do 😎 im not looking for a professional carpenter. This is git er dun, use what you have type building. People wanting to learn gardening and food ways are always welcome- carpentry skills UN nescessary. I live off-grid in a 240 sq ft hand built caravan. I am practicing sustainability thru permaculture. my farm garden is beyond organic, relying on natures synergy. It is my dream to be fully self sufficient in food and herbs. also in the dream-works are an outdoor summer kitchen, a solar oven, a solar water heater for the caravan, more food forest which includes...

We are a cultural and arts community that is working towards being self-sustained. The community is situated in the mountains of Monchique, Portugal surrounded by nature. Our community provides an alternative way of living with permaculture gardens, farm animals, sustainability projects, and arts and cultural workshops. It is a great place to come to meet other like-minded people if you are passionate about sustainability and alternative living. We hold community meetings throughout the week alongside activities and workshops, such as quiz nights, dance nights and yoga classes.

PLEASE NOTE WELL: we absolutely cannot host anyone with any pre-existing health issues, physical or mental (we are not medically trained to manage such conditions), such as hay fever, any other allergies, sensitivities or intolerances. We live in a small village with some shops and a climbing centre and a river just opposite the house. We have a quite a size garden where we grow vegetables, fruit bushes and trees. Here, we have spectacular mountain views on our do...
