We are a cultural and arts community that is working towards being self-sustained. The community is situated in the mountains of Monchique, Portugal surrounded by nature. Our community provides an alternative way of living with permaculture gardens, farm animals, sustainability projects, and arts and cultural workshops. It is a great place to come to meet other like-minded people if you are passionate about sustainability and alternative living. We hold community meetings throughout the week alongside activities and workshops, such as quiz nights, dance nights and yoga classes. If you have something you are passionate about and want to share with others, we would love for you to run a workshop. We are a retired couple looking for help with projectis around the property. Some light construction might be involved,so carpentry skills would be helpful. We live on the banks of a world famous trout stream (White River) in the Ozark Mountains of North Central Arkansas. We have a neat cabin next door to our house that would be available. Work would involve working alongside Bill doing improvement projects around the property( fence building, painting the cabin, limb and brush removal and burning limbs as well as other outside jobs). We plan on working an average of 20 or so hours per week depending on the weather. We will provide lodging in the cabin and a couple of meals a day in exchange for your help. We have 2 large dogs and 2 cats, so loving animals would be helpful and if we had to be gone for a short time, you might be asked to care for them. We have bicycles, canoes and kayaks available as this area is ripe with outdoor opportunities. Looking for an exchange of about...

Hello everyone! My name is Lidia and I live in a house on a hill in the beautiful Sabina countryside, not far from Rome. I'm looking for proactive volunteers with some manual skills and a sincere love of nature. Since it's a country house, activities take place mainly outdoors, but you could also help tidy up or clean the interior. Unfortunately, last year the olive grove suffered a fire, and I would need help pruning the surviving trees and sorting the firewood. Tasks and hours of assistance vary depending on the season and needs, but no more than agreed upon will be required. You'll have a private room and bathroom, access to electricity, Wi-Fi, and good food. I eat vegetarian, but sometimes I make exceptions for special guests. I'm a cook and sometimes organize small events on weekends. Since I'm trying to improve my rudimentary English, it would be a pleasure if we could do a language tandem. I make soaps, herbal products, and fervida; if you'd like, you can help make them. I als...

Hello Potential Volunteers My name is Paul and it was my dream to change my lifestyle from being an office worker to becoming an alpaca farmer.... here we are 14 years later with 100 alpacas, each individually cherishes with names and unique personalities, plus an assortment of other animals all needing our love :) I have three children: Liam (21), Dylan (9) and Oscar (6), and our 100-acre farm is home to approx.100 alpacas, plus llamas, peacocks, hens, mini pigs, a cat named Sexy, and our farm dog Malta. This year we are expecting 20 'cria' (baby alpacas) and each one will need our help so they can thrive! We need to ensure they get colostrum (filled with antibodies and vital for good health) – have they fed from their mums within the first 24hrs? Are they then drinking enough milk from their mums every day? Are they gaining weight? The well-being of my animals is the most important thing on the farm. Do they have good food and enough water, and the best possible natural environme...

My name is Bruce, and I’m looking for a reliable, friendly person to assist me with everyday life while also forming a meaningful connection. I'm Thanasis, a 45 years old greek man living in the South of the Peloponnes. I'm a farmer, with oranges trees and some olive trees. I also have a shop, mainly selling coffee that I roast on site. I need help all the year to maintain the big farm (orange and olive harvest, trees pruning, pick-up fallen oranges, and so on..) If you come, you will have your own room (1 for a couple or separate), and access to all the rest of the house (kitchen, bathroom...). I like to share the meal, and provide food if you want to cook. You also can use WI-FI connection. You could enjoy the life between the farm and the city of Skala Lakonia, wich offer a lot of coffee shop, restaurants, and any kind of stores. Minimum stay is 2 weeks, to allow time to learn about life on the farm. I need help for a maximum of 5 hours per day, 5 days per week, depending on the weather. I really like to meet new people and introduce them to Greece history. I practice karaté (three times per week) and would be happy t...

This is only the second school in Nagarkot, nice Nepalese village in Bhaktapur district; a 1.5 hrs bus ride from Kathmandu. It hopes to provide an English medium education for underprivileged children. The school has 7 staff members taking care of its 80+ students - aged from 4 to 12 years old - and would benefit from any help volunteers can provide. Volunteers can expect to as class helpers and also share teaching tips with the school if they can. Volunteers can also help beautify the classrooms murals to help the kids as visual aids during their school time. Becoming an independent class teacher is also an option for long-term volunteers as soon as they have a grasp on the school's curriculum and vision for students. Other jobs for volunteers include: - Writing class exercises and homework exercises for students (we have no printing/photocopying facilities) - Designing class quizzes and tests - Introducing interactive, educational games through which children can learn ...

We've lived overseas for many years, including time in South America, Asia and the Middle East, and returned 15 years ago to start our 'off grid adventure'. Having 'internationalized' it's been time to put some roots down (literally) in a sustainable, creative and co-evolutionary way. These days we're a family of four (kids aged 13 and 10) with 3 dogs/chickens/guinea pigs. We speak some Spanish and a little Japanese and would receive foreigners eagerly (also fellow NZers of course). We're one hour's drive from the nearest towns (Kaitaia and Kerikeri) although a small organic co-op is twenty-five minutes away. Neighbours include a Bee-Keeper and his family, artists, potters and homesteaders, some of whom are open to receiving helpers who may wish to spend more time in the area. People wishing to learn about setting up off-grid so that they can do so themselves would be able to pick up valuable skills at our place. Helpers stay in either a fifteen by eight foot caravan with solar power...

We are in need of volunteers for our community. We prefer volunteers who are willing to work, teach and show our children and community the good way how to make organic farm in order to save our environment. Teaching other subjects to the children, teach adults English lesson, coach our football club. We're flexible in what you chose to do. In the afternoons volunteers run a program called “English Corner” where they teach English classes to local people, helping adults to improve their English skills. Many strive to learn English in order to have better job opportunities in the future. Free-time activities A trip to Tanzania is the chance to experience life in the heart of Africa. There’s plenty to see and do here during your free time on your project. A project in Tanzania wouldn’t be complete without a safari! This is a chance to see the beautiful wildlife of this country, like elephants, rhinos, and lions. What’s more, Tanzania is home to the highest mountain in Africa, Mount ...

A room is available for your homestay. Because of the help I would like to ask, mature ladies who have enough experience/knowledge of handling house holding chores and cooking are welcome. No problem if you cannot cook Japanese dishes. Vegetarian is welcome only from summer to autumn. We can easily talk about next step of your homestay if how long from when, how you can help, what you want to do during homestay in addition to help works are written in your request. I will reply to only applicants who read my profile and understand/satisfy requirements. It's becoming difficult to afford free meals to helpers because of rapid and continuous economic inflation, especially foods under the COVID pandemic, wars and Japanese currency depreciation. From July 2026, you are asked to share cost of meals during homestay. Amount may be 30000 to 50000 Yens per month, depending on your cooking skill. I'm a 67 years old male living alone and have a small private organic vegetable garden. I am...

We would love to welcome you to our beautiful log home near the Canadian Rockies for a unique volunteer experience surrounded by nature, wildlife, and true Alberta ranch life. Our home sits on a stunning 60-acre property with ponds, walking trails, open space, and incredible mountain-country scenery. The lodge itself is over 10,000 square feet and offers modern comforts, including a gym, cozy fireplaces, quiet spaces to relax, and plenty of room to feel at home. Volunteers have a private bedroom and share a washroom with 2–3 others, depending on the group size. We host a maximum of 6 volunteers at one time, which keeps the experience social, comfortable, and family-style. We are located about 20 minutes from Kananaskis, 1 hour and 15 minutes from Banff, and approximately 1 hour from Calgary, making this a great base for exploring some of the most beautiful areas in Canada. We are currently looking for motivated, easygoing volunteers to help with general property projects and day-to...

**House, Garden & Dog Sitter Wanted** **10th August – 3rd September** I'm looking for a trustworthy, caring individual or couple to look after my home, garden, and two small dogs while I'm away working from **10th August until 3rd September**. My dogs are friendly and affectionate, so I'm looking for someone with experience caring for dogs who will enjoy spending time with them—not just feeding them, but giving them plenty of companionship, love, and attention. The house is located in a peaceful rural village surrounded by beautiful countryside, making it the perfect retreat for a digital nomad, remote worker, or anyone looking to escape the hustle and bustle for a few weeks. It's an ideal place to relax, unwind, and enjoy a slower pace of life. In return for caring for my dogs, home, and keeping an eye on the garden, you'll have a comfortable place to stay in a quiet and scenic location. If you're reliable, responsible, and love dogs, I'd love to hear from you. Please send me a ...

UPDATE 1st of June 2026: Too hot to host for the next 4 months, see you back October onwards. Hola todas! My place is an old grain mill with half a hectare of land. I live here for more than 17 years and hosted many volunteers. Work is mostly in the garden. Weeding, digging, planting, watering, harvesting and off course eating. There is a big cat family living on the land. Help in the kitchen is welcome. Special dietary requirements must be met by the helpers. In the area there are many activities possible. More yoga teachers than there are yoga students. Meditations, dancing, healing, massage, channeling, singing,....! Many communities of all sorts (hippy, midwives, subud, soefie). Hiking in all directions. Even skiing starting beginning of December. I try to keep a healthy environment, so no drugs that cloud your spirit. No dogs either. People mostly stay between one and two weeks. Work is about 5 days a week, 4 hours a day. Food and lodging included. Flexible. Work depends on pe...

*** update may 2026 *** NEW : I moved to the center of France. I am building a new project: one global project with donkeys and a tiny camping. There is a lot of activities to offer on the site: clearing brush, decluttering, gardening, animal care, DIY, construction, art, music lessons, english lessons etc. And I need help to manage a small camping ... Welcome to my little paradise ! I don't eat animals, raw food basically. So, I prefer the helper cook his own meal (I buy your food, of course). You can stay in a tent, near a pond and with the donkeys. There is two sites in my project : the house which is a reception house for activities and with all services etc. and the pond's site which is at 20 mn on foot from the house, with basics services. The shower is outdoor and compost toilet. In spring and summer we stay on in the pond's site (named l'Ermitage). Contact me if you want to participate in the development of a beautiful project in the heart of nature, with animals. There is ...

We are Pascale, Guy and our daughter Fanette. We live in a tiny village in the beautiful valley of Ubaye, in the Alpes de Haute Provence. We got four horses and two cats who are like family to us. There's a garden, and our daughter runs a 1 hectare arboretum (botanic garden) and squirel park open to public during summer time, where visitors can explore the forest and discover land art. If you are fond of nature, fishing, hiking, kayaking, contemplation, animals and open spaces, this touristic spot is made for you! We would be glad to teach you French and help you with your adventure projects. The house is a bit far from the main city Barcelonnette but we can give you a lift if you need as we go there every day. Close to the village is a bistrot/ pub where they regularly play live music. There are lakes and rivers too where you can enjoy a sunbath. We bought a big caravan especially for the volunteers, with separate private facilities, as we think people like having their private spac...

We are in the process of renovating an old house in the Pyrenees. There is only decorating to do such as stripping paint of walls and woodwork, and repainting. There might be the occasional carpentry to do also, nothing too complicated. We need help 5 hours per day, five days per week. Weeding, pruning trees, making paths. We are looking for help from two strong and healthy individuals to assist with a house redecorating project and gardening, trimming trees, path making etc. This requires physical strength and stamina. PLEASE NOTE WELL: we absolutely cannot host anyone with any pre-existing health issues, physical or mental (we are not medically trained to manage such conditions), such as hay fever, any other allergies, sensitivities or intolerances. We live in a small village with some shops and a climbing centre and a river just opposite the house. We have a quite a size garden where we grow vegetables, fruit bushes and trees. It is our mission to provide visitors from all over the world with an authentic experience of the unique atmosphere and culture of our home in Canada’s far North. As a well-established tourism company, we are diversifying our impacts and create a more resilient business. Doing this is not only fulfilling our long-term mission of developing a self-sustaining Arctic Eco-Village, but also investigating innovative solutions to major obstacles facing communities in the North: food and housing insecurity, decolonizing our economy, capacity development and cultural revitalization. Sustainable farming is not the only focus we have here, but we are continuously developing ideas and trying new farming methods. We are happy to find people from all over the world who are as motivated as we are to make living in the Arctic more sustainable. Organic methods: In the summer time, when we enjoy 24 hour sunshine, we grow our plants in greenhouses without the use of any chemical/artificial fertilizers....

WELCOME TO ARIZONA! My name is Chris. I've been hosting on sites like HelpX for over eight years, and have over 60 positive references across various other sites. I always enjoy having interesting young people from around the world staying with me, whether for culture and language exchange (i.e., couchsurfing) or to take on various projects. I'm primarily interested in hosting fluent German speakers for longer-term intensive language practice (one month or more). I'm also very interested in hosting anyone, from any country, who might be interested in joining me for long-term and long-distance road trips as a driver, photographer, cook and general assistant. But any travelers are welcome to inquire about shorter cultural exchange homestays. If you are anywhere in the region, from Southern California to Utah to Texas, or would like to be, then don't hesitate to contact me to discuss what might be possible. ABOUT ME I'm a retired tax attorney. I am also a Certified Financial Plann...

Hard to begin because our world seems upside down or torn to shreds while community like us work to expand love, beauty, peace and joy. If you want to visit Maine consider this an invitation. I've been a host on this platform in California for 2 decades until my house burned down. The engagement I present is different though. I'm not building or fixing anything, just living on a homestead so this offer will exchange a private bedroom in a shared house for $300 a month. You must have a vehicle to live here and a parking space is provided. I have a dog and cat and could request care if I decide to go away and the conditions are right. The $300 fee covers utilities, internet and communal supplies for the kitchen and laundry.

We're Manon, Alessandro and Brioche (I'm a dog) a little young family passionate about nature, travelling, independence, regenerative practices, agriculture, farming, gardening, trekking and life. After almost 10 years of working and travelling overseas we felt the the needs to set roots and to transform our dream in to a reality. We bought an old farm stable in ruins (dry stone building) inside a very small village and a few hectares of old chestnuts forest next to it. On one side we want to restore the old building using eco techniques, as much as we can, to transform it in to our house and on the other side we are developing a syntropic garden, a little orchard based on agroforestry systems principles that will also be applied to some parts of the chestnuts forest. We're located in South Ardèche, near the town of Joyeuse. The place is famous for its rivers, canyons and forests with plenty of hiking and biking trails, bathing spots, canyoning, rafting, climbing spots, old small vil...

Join Our Home in Walnut Creek: A Unique Opportunity for Connection and Support Hello! My name is Bruce, and I’m looking for a reliable, friendly person to assist me with everyday life while also forming a meaningful connection. About Me and Our Home I broke my neck at 18, resulting in lifelong use of a wheelchair. Despite this, I pursued multiple degrees and have built a fulfilling life with my wife, Kim. We live in a cozy three-bedroom home in Walnut Creek, just 28 miles east of San Francisco. Our household includes our service dog, Bennett, a future service dog in training (Dorothy, our third), and two cats, Edna and Scarlett. Your Role & Contribution While Kim is my full-time caregiver, I need help with tasks that offset my paralysis, including: - Household Tasks – Light cleaning, keeping the kitchen tidy, and helping with laundry. - Personal Assistance – Bringing me food, water, and other necessities I can’t manage on my own. - Driving & Companionship – Taking...

🏔️ Help Wanted: Alpine Farm Restoration & Lambing Season! Location: Lower Austria (Rax Mountain/Schneeberg area) Vibe: International, hard-working, family-oriented, and authentic. For us, the exchange is a two-way street. We want to learn from our guests as much as they learn from us, creating memories through shared meals and conversations. We are a pretty colourful bunch of nice people composed of an austrian and a middle east family and long standing international friends. Actually living here permanently: Feri (1982), Lise (1975) and the children Layla (2013) and Aisha (2015) and other family members are coming regularly to see us to enjoy the time together and preparing a mix of delicious oriental-european-food! Same as a lot of different visitors (friends, helpers, family) from all over the world are enjoying this place of meeting and exchange. I am...

Here, we have spectacular mountain views on our do...

The farm is a diverse mix of organically produced vegetables, hemp and pasture raised animals. It is located in an area that is rich with local farms, breweries and food producers. The farm is located on the upper Lamiolle river and just 4 miles from beautiful Caspian Lake and Barr Hill Nature Perserve. Greensboro is the home of Jasper Hill Cellars, Hill Farmstead Brewery, Cirkus Simrkus, the Highland Center for the Arts and a whole lot more. We are 9 miles from Hardwick, dubbed the epicenter of the local food movement.
