Hello, thank you for looking at our listing. We've not hosted helpers through this site for a year but have hosted and have more recent references on a sofa-surfing app if you need to see more. **We are especially looking for people with carpentry and building skills but plenty of garden and organising work if you're unskilled.** We are Cathy (45) and Leo (who is 12 years old.) We live in a lovely, but messy little cottage in a very beautiful glen. Unfortunately at the moment there's several issues with the plumbing so please do not apply if you need a daily hot shower! We like to have several helpers so friends are welcome to apply, alternatively we are happy to take single travellers - but please be aware you may need to share a sleeping area with other helpers (who we will ensure are the same sex and similar age to you.) The accommodation is extremely basic, the house is in disarray and I currently resemble a headless chicken for much of the day! Only apply if you are comfor...

Hello, my partner John & I, have had a wonderful time sharing our home with volunteers. We now have a vacancy from february9th We live as a family & enjoy many things together, with our volunteers, many of whom have become lasting friends. We live in a 4 bed modern dormer bungalow, in a beautiful village, with a shop & bus stop 3 minutes walk from the house. We live with my father, who is 89 years old and has moderate memory loss. My father has Carer’s visiting 3 times a day, to help him shower & take him out for a drive. Volunteers are not involved in my fathers personal care, but My father loves extra company with volunteers, so that he doesn’t feel lonely. My father does like to have volunteers there, to watch television with him, so that he’s not alone. I also need help with keeping the house clean & simple vegetarian cooking. We enjoy sharing simple, international food with our volunteers & have plenty of vegetarian cooking books, for ideas. We have a friendly and we...

PLEASE READ MY WHOLE HOST PROFILE BEFORE YOU APPLY TO VISIT MY PLACE AND ASK ABOUT ANYTHING YOUR NOT CLEAR ON You don't need to have an overwhelming desire to save the world, live off the land, or be more useful than a Swiss army knife, to stay here. A nice honest person is good enough. This is a relaxing place, close to nature, away from the backpacker trail on the coast but still got a bit happening, somewhere to recharge your batteries, do a bit of work, have a laugh and meet some real Aussies, maybe get out of your comfort zone a bit😜 My place is a cattle farm with one skinny, old farmer, one dog, some cattle, lots of birds and wildlife, relaxing place, near Kyogle, a quiet country town, which is 1.5 hours drive west from Byron Bay. Two hours south of Brisbane by train. Very close to the beautiful Border Ranges National Park (bike ride away). I like to show people around. Hello, I’m David! I have sold my coffee shop after 45 years in the hospitality trade, where travelling workers would once work, however I STILL offer helpers the same excellent own room lodging as homestay & great food in exchange for a little light work and some social contact. I live close the train station and bus stop and am a 30 min trip by train to Melbourne City. There is a vehicle to drive locally if are appropriately licensed. You are welcome to use it. I go to the outback in western New South Wales about 3 times a year for the purpose of experiencing the beautiful "timeless land" of Australia and to legally hunt feral animals which endanger our wildlife. I often take workers to the outback so they can have a taste of the real Australia and I can assure that none of the numerous helpers/woofers I have taken over a many year period did not thoroughly enjoy it. . However the choice is theirs whether they accompany myself or whether they stay and "mind the house" I also oft...

Hello! We have an avocado finca between Nerja, which is a beautiful small touristic town at Spain‘s south coast and Maro, a nice and small village. The surroundings include many pleasant beaches, as well as mountains in the north of Nerja. You can enjoy the sunny weather most days of the year. We are transforming our finca from monoculture to polyculture by using permaculture techniques. We would love to create a biodiverse edible food forest. We started with 100 old avocado trees and now we have planted bananas, papayas, mangoes, maracuja and other vegetables and fruits. We spend as much time as possible on the finca, but we aren't here for the whole year. We love a simple and minimalistic life close to nature. Our luxury is the fresh spring water floating across our land that we use for watering the plants and showering, and the fresh fruit we eat every day. For volunteers who want to visit us we have tents to live in. Preferably you have your own slimbag with you. There is an...

Help needed. Practical people wanted for help with strimming, gardening and general outside duties. If you are a car mechanic then opportunities there also. We live in an old mill by the river on the edge of Exeter which is in Devon, the Southwest of England. We are 5 minutes walk from the train station which can take you to some beautiful south west locations to explore. At home, we are a family of three with dogs, cats and chickens. Especially in the summer, when everything grows, we could do with a helping hand making it all look neat again. We would ask for 4-5 hours a day, 5 days a week but can be flexible. We offer a caravan by the river or, if it's empty, a cottage, with cooking facilities, nearby shower and washing machine as well as a fridge. I will provide food for you to cook, fresh bread and milk and sundries as well as fruit and veg.

We live on a 5 acre hobby farm in the beautiful Huon Valley, Southern Tasmania. Our family consists of three young adult children (two live at home), two horses, many chickens, ducks, geese, goats and two gorgeous dogs. We grow organic vegetables and breed heritage chickens in an attempt to be more sustainable. Jobs involve general gardening, helping with the animals and housekeeping. If you would like a Tassie small farm experience message us with some details of the work you have previously done. We have separate accommodation, with a bathroom. All our HelpXers have loved working and living with us and I hope you will too (please remember Tassie is a cold place in winter). There are many areas of natural beauty in Southern Tasmania which are all fairly close to us. For example, the Hartz mountains, Hastings Caves and the Tahune Airwalk. We live close to a sleepy village called Cygnet and Hobart is only a 40min drive away. (Unfortunately we can't approve 2nd year visas)

The accomodation is a 8' x 12' studio with a small covered front porch. There's high speed wifi and solar power, and it's surrounded by forest. There's a nice hexagonal composting toilet, an outdoor shower, and a shared kitchen and dining area. Looking for someone who can work independently on some tasks (gardening, painting) while I'm at my day job, and we'll work together some too (tree planting, construction projects). I work as a zipline guide and love touring people around the Island, so I'd be happy to take you on adventures on the weekends too!

Another amazing season is coming up and our main focus this year will be on clearing forest and trails. Read details below... ‐---------- Hi! My name is Lady. My husband, Darryl, and I live on an 80-acre hobby farm located near the city of Prince George, in Northern BC. From here, we have endless access to forests, trails, lakes, wildlife (bears, coyotes, wolves, moose, etc.), and a wide variety of birds. We moved here approximately six years ago and currently have 4 horses, one dog and a cat. Both Darryl and I speak English and I am also fluent in French (spoken but not written). WHAT WE DO: The farm consists of approximately 25 acres of hay fields that are harvested to feed our horses. Some of the farming activities include managing the paddocks and pastures, managing the hay fields, and harvesting and storing the hay. Proper management of our fields – including rotational grazing – is an important part of what we do and knowledge that we enjoy sharing with others. Regular ...

We live in a fun share house in Maryborough, Marry Poppins Town, with awesome meals and a big edible garden. We're Mars, the owner of the property and Tracy, a former theatre/restaurant owner who's cooking the most awesome meals and looking after everyone like a mum. There're 2 adorable dogs in the family, so you must be a dog lover. We need help with building and creating, and with an awesome but overgrown garden. In addition, we're about to put 12v solar power into the rooms, also natural air-conditioning and are finishing up the spa bath in the 2nd bathroom... so there's a bit for you to learn and lots of knowledge to take home. We have had awesome experiences with travellers so far 😃. Maryborough is only 30 minutes away from Hervey Bay with beautiful beaches overlooking Frazer Island. Maryborough is a beautiful old heritage town with a lot of old buildings and parks all around. We're just a few metres away from the Mary River, at a quite place and only 1.5 km from town. There'...

You will live as part of the family - during your stay, our home will be your home. We are a married couple living on a property with our DOGS, HORSES and some elderly but treasured chickens. Depending on the time of year, we also run a small scale rescue and rehabilitation centre for hedgehogs. There are stunning views looking out over a Devon Wildlife Nature Reserve and beautiful countryside. We live in a very attractive rural area of Devon on the outskirts of a beautiful old village called DOLTON (please look on "Google Earth") about a 45 minute drive from Dartmoor National Park. We’re a relaxed family of three living in the central Auckland suburb of Morningside, with easy access to buses and trains and close to local cafés, zoo, parks and the city. This is a small farming property ten minutes drive or around 30mins bike ride from the coastal town of Esperance. There is a comfortable sleep-out available or a room in the main house. The adjacent bush and wetlands provide kangaroos and birdlife for the nature lovers. Helpers may enjoy feeding the sheep and cows or other farm related tasks and there is always firewood to split for the wood stove. The 4 alpacas enjoy some attention too. Expect an international flavour as current occupants include travellers from Argentina, Italy China and New Zealand. It is important to understand that there is no public transport into Esperance, any visitors will need their own transport.

Welcome to central Auckland and our hidden garden. We have hosted many many cyclists over the last few years and now we want to host HelpX people as well. Our home is centrally located in Auckland and has a large natural garden and that means lots of birds and a relaxing back yard. Plus an old cat. And we can give you lots of advice on where to go around the North Island, and some advice on the South Island. We propose that you stay a night after arriving from overseas, to recover from your flight. Then you can get set up for your trip around New Zealand. Afterwards you can assist with work around the house in return for accommodation and food. We prefer 3 nights. 1 night to recover and 2 days helping out. 4 days maximum as we like to host lots of different people. Tasks include some heavy duty gardening, watering, work on an old wooden house such as painting and small repairs. I speak a little French and Spanish so I will try to talk to you in those languages if it suits you. ...

Permaculture project with idea and space to create an eco-village. The quinta is located in Alto Alentejo 2km from Portalegre. 15 hectares with magical forests and a beautiful valley provided by seventeen sources and several mines with healthy water where too people live permanently for the moment,Isabel, a communication manager and Michel, a carpenter who is the founder of the project. There is also one dog, five cats, for chickens and six sheep. The project is now in the phase when it’s open so that more people can live here. Because parts of the ruins are ready for occupancy, there is space for people who want to stay longer, which can bring new and stronger dynamics throughout the year, not like before, when there was only a lot going on in the summer months. So far there is already a beautiful gardens going on and numerous species of plants, shrubs and trees which deliver us plenty of food.

We live rural near a town called Warkworth, 40 minutes drive ( by car ) north of Auckland CBD. We have hosted many people all over the world for over a decade now!!! lots from Germany, France, Israel and so on. We love meeting new people and potentially making new friends who just LOVE boardgames especially! :) We are: Jasmine 45 and Sharyn who is 48. We are both currently designing board games. Our property is a rural lifestyle property. Our home is a modern...

We have a Mediterranean style home, Indian Fusion decor, nestled in urban Katikati (beautiful Mural Town, just south of the Coromandel). Small 1,228m² intensive organic food production in the village. Fruit trees include fig, avo, peach, plum, apple, pear, mandarin, orange, guava, olives, feijoas and lemons. Also gooseberries, blueberries and some strawberries. Lots of herbs, veggies (seasonal) make for great organic vegetarian meals. Solar water heating. Solar panels generate most of our energy needs and water tanks to harvest rain water. To see how one can be committed to organic growing principles on a small intensive scale, please feel free to contact us via email, [email protected] as I don’t seem to get these notifications. We need help doing odd jobs like fence painting, gardening, mulching, composting, building simple structures in the garden, cleaning etc. We have a guest room upstairs with a double bed and is comfortable and cosy. It affords a sense of privac...
