Gardening, housework, light mechanical, a bit of hunting, all sorts of things, never boring.A wicked sense of humor is a good asset to bring. handy to Routeburn and Greenstone tracks. You will need your own internet connection as I don't supply wifi. A bit isolated, not for the precious, no trophy hunters!! Please don't apply unless you intend to come for a minimum stay of two weeks. One person only. We do not get involved with internships or visa applications. Vegetarians and vegans would probably not be comfortable as we eat meat daily. I am off grid and totally dependent on solar, so you have to charge your devices during the day and definitely no hairdryers! Accommodation is a house bus in warmer weather or a room in the house in winter, not shared usually. Lastly I also play the guitar (badly) and sing (worse) but it's all about smile not style :-) , please don't come if you have a heavy cold or flu, I'm involved with the elderly. Cheers Al

Hobbits are "little people" with big hearts and big bare feet firmly connected with mother earth. They habitually live "under the radar" of some PC embellished society and try all their best to not succumb to the madness of it. Claiming their birth right to nature's abundance, love, beauty and endless creativity they naturally make up to and make do with the lack of gold caused by the greedy child-eating dragon behind the bare stone mountains.. Hi, my name is Marianne. I live on a classic New Zealand all-day sunny "tree quarter acre of hobbit shire" looking down to Oamaru. If you arrive early enough at my kitchen window or even up on the jungle hill behind the cottage, you can see the sea and watch the sunrise. A 10 minute stroll down Eden Street gets you either to the CBD or to the shoreline. I am providing three basic meals per day as well as a comfortable and quiet room for your stay and to relax after our daily four hours of working together "out there", somewhere on some befitt...

Version française plus bas. __________________________________ Hello! We moved from Germany five years ago to the beautiful Gaspé-coast. We’re located 5km from the sea and we live midst a community of young people. Who’s “we”? Well, it’s Catherine (37 years old), Olaf (46 years old), Mathis (4 years)and Mika (12 months) and Artemis, our cat. We try to be as self-sufficient as possible on the food and work in our garden to make it a little bigger each year. We grow organic (not certified) vegetables of all kinds, berries, medicinal herbs, perennials and more. We also have a wood lot close by. We try to make our own seeds as much as possible and start our own seedlings in spring for the garden and the greenhouse. We also transform our harvest by drying, fermenting, canning, making juice etc. Of course there is always things to do around the house and inside, too. So there is always some extra hands needed. Our handcraft-projects include wood, leather, basketing, sewing, mosaic and other...

Nestled in the coastal range of Mendocino County, California (about 45 minutes Northwest of Ukiah where the weather is more pleasant) we are establishing a small farm and wildlife sanctuary.  Based on principles of sustainability & permaculture our expanding ridge top garden and orchards consist of a variety of fruits, veggies, herbs and flowers.  Aside from garden and orchard tasks additional projects may include gathering seaweed and other native wild foods, cooking, canning, fermenting foods, making herbal preparations, habitat restoration, brush and trail clearing, small scale green building and learning how to build and maintain an off-grid infrastructure and solar system. Please read all of our information before contacting us. We require a one month minimum stay, and currently we have space beginning July 1st. Our homestead is remote and therefore not for everyone. We prefer those who want to unplug and enjoy the serenity of a mountain forest. If you are open minded, love t...

We're Manon, Alessandro and Brioche (I'm a dog) a little young family passionate about nature, travelling, independence, regenerative practices, agriculture, farming, gardening, trekking and life. After almost 10 years of working and travelling overseas we felt the the needs to set roots and to transform our dream in to a reality. We bought an old farm stable in ruins (dry stone building) inside a very small village and a few hectares of old chestnuts forest next to it. On one side we want to restore the old building using eco techniques, as much as we can, to transform it in to our house and on the other side we are developing a syntropic garden, a little orchard based on agroforestry systems principles that will also be applied to some parts of the chestnuts forest. We're located in South Ardèche, near the town of Joyeuse. The place is famous for its rivers, canyons and forests with plenty of hiking and biking trails, bathing spots, canyoning, rafting, climbing spots, old small vil...

Good morning;. I went on the Wagon Train in Montana like I have since 1983. We had a bad wreck, I got hurt. My ribs are healed now. My left leg still breaks open. It was a very nasty cut. Please come help me. I am now able to ride the ride on mower and get mowing done. The helper who had been here just over 3 years [yes years],moved . He works in town full time, stayed here for free and helped with chores. I really need the help. I do need someone for the winter months for sure. I have had 3 really great helpers already this year and 1 vanishing act. Too funny. Not as much to do as most years. Painting will have to get done this year. That is outside on the little buildings. 2 barn doors need repairs. Please respond when I send an invitation. I wait and wait and so many do not reply. Thank you to those who do. Due to my health, i have gotten behind.. I hope to see many more new friends in 2026. If you have not been to Saskatchewan, You are missing sheer beauty and so many things to s...

Hey, hello you ! We are Caro and Chris, Zion and Kiara. We were travelling around the world since a gorgeous time until all this virus craziness happened. Caro, then Chris & Caro were backpacking, doing hitchhiking, etc... The beautiful wildlife. Then kids arrived in 2017 and 2019 so we mainly stayed travelling in Europe by van until they will be able to carry a little backpack ;) When the virus arrived, we were crossing Sweden. Everything became complicated with borders, shops and people so we decided to enjoy the strange time to build our home. We bought an over 300 years old stone house on a big peace of land which were abandoned and this new adventure started. Bretagne is a nice place full of culture, traditions, nice villages, forest and legends and history, and surrounded by the sea. After being helpers ourselves, we now want to be hosts too. We loved it so we expect people love it here too. Our kids are homeschooling with mainly their mother and we would be happy to have Eng...

We are Axel and Mônica (both 52). We are living in Portugal and our house with 3000 squaremeters of land is in a small village in the countryside of the beautiful Algarve. We can offer accommodation (bedroom - as you can see on the picture - and separate bathroom for you) and meals of course. Behind the village the mountains start, so here is a lot of nature, the beaches are 30km away. The next town (Messines) is 4km away, the next village about 1km. We need helpers in September or October for two or three weeks for some work in our garden and building a wall of natural stones. We prefer a couple or two friends, but if you are a single helper, you can contact us as well. Helpers are very welcome to our house!

This is an exciting opportunity to have an experience that will stay with you throughout your life. Our Foundation aims at helping rural children receive a qualitative outstanding education. We have a volunteer teaching program to assist rural teachers and children get exposure to foreign languages and cultures. Because English is the second language in Thai schools, we concentrate on improving the English language skills of both rural teachers and children. At present, we aim to help 4 public elementary schools (grades 1 - 6) close to Chiang Mai. We are currently taking applications for volunteers who would available to start mid-November and commit to at least 8 weeks . We are looking for volunteers to teach English only. Couples are welcome as well. NOTE: We do not charge volunteers any fees for staying with us. The generous gift of your time and dedication is all the donation we will ask of you. (Note for U4U applicants -- we cannot sponsor any refugees from Ukraine at this time, but we are happy to host you if someone else can sponsor you.) ~Our Place~ We live on a beautiful piece of land in rural Texas, full of lush green hills, towering pines, oak savannahs, and wild animals, about 1 hour's drive from Austin. Our goal is to build a community out here, starting from our extended family and friend group and beyond. We've traveled the world volunteering, hitchhiking, Couchsurfing, playing music in bands, farming, building, protesting, yogaing, truck-driving, teaching... all kinds of things. Now, we're trying to restore this piece of land to a more balanced state and to build a home, a farm, an apiary, a studio... We want this to be a place that fosters creativity, closeness to nature, silence, loudness, peace, chaos, etc.! And we've hosted volunteers from Colombia, Iran, Canada, China, Mexico, Iraq, USA, Korea, Spain, Bulgaria, Brazil, Denmark, Zimbabwe, Japan, France, Germ...

We are a cultural and arts community that is working towards being self-sustained. The community is situated in the mountains of Monchique, Portugal surrounded by nature. Our community provides an alternative way of living with permaculture gardens, farm animals, sustainability projects, and arts and cultural workshops. It is a great place to come to meet other like-minded people if you are passionate about sustainability and alternative living. We hold community meetings throughout the week alongside activities and workshops, such as quiz nights, dance nights and yoga classes. If you have something you are passionate about and want to share with others, we would love for you to run a workshop. One of the best things here is the variety of tasks you can do as a volunteer, which gives you the opportunity to learn new skills and discover what you enjoy doing most. We have a combination of short-term and long-term volunteers and on average we have between 10 to 20 volunteers and resident...

Yassas ! So, we got this little piece of paradise. It is perfect as it is, so what we are about is to just make it more welcoming and playful, have fun while working on it, and all this time keeping it natural and harmonious. It isnt a business, but a playground. And so we gather a small eclectic team twice a year to work the land, its perfect as it is, but there is a vision, a place we can camp and cultivate facilities gradually while enjoying time together, doing, eating, chatting and chilling on the beach. *** The 12th session will take place starting 15th of septmber for some 2-3 weeks, just after the wave of tourism has receded, perfect weather conditions to enjoy nature and beach. on the menu : terrace building, bramble hunt, water system rebuild, wood finishes on the octagon hut, olives trim and who know what else ****** The kind of projects we do (an endless list that grows faster than we knock it out) : Always pushing back the rebel wild bramble bush to free more olive/...

Hello, my name is Florent, I'm 45 years old, I was a chef for about twenty years, and since 2017 I've been a spirulina producer. Spirulina is a microalga that's very rich in nutrients. It's a very environmentally friendly crop, requiring little energy and no pesticides. Spirulina needs sun and warmth to grow. The harvest season in our region runs from April to October, and it's during this period that I'm interested in hosting someone (I don't need two people at the same time, one is enough). Normally, I already have people helping me until the end of august, so I'm looking for someone from beginning of september. I mainly need someone to help me harvest the spirulina but also sometimes to help me out on the farm with various tasks, as we do everything ourselves: cleaning, labeling, packaging, general maintenance and odd jobs, and also everything else that goes along with the spirulina production: clearing brush, chopping wood, going to markets from time to time, house constructi...

Hello! Would you like to stay in a villa by the sea? I offer free accommodation in exchange for a few hours of help. The villa is located 15 minutes from Ajaccio. It has bedrooms with private bathrooms, a gym with a spa, a jacuzzi in a landscaped garden, large terraces and a swimming pool. The beaches are just a short walk away, with small coves and natural pools directly opposite the villa. The panoramic sea views and sunsets make the setting particularly idyllic. A transfer from the airport or port can be arranged depending on availability, during the daytime only (details available on request). The minimum stay is one week. Simply indicate your available dates in your request. The help mainly involves cleaning, cooking, garden maintenance or small painting jobs. It represents around four hours per day, with the option of grouping the work into one full day every other day. The rest of the time can be spent enjoying Lava’s large beach, the coves in front of the villa, the hiking trai...

Hi! I’m Tina (41), and I live on our family farm in the beautiful countryside with my husband Yuri, our two daughters (5½ and 1½ years old), my mother-in-law, my brother-in-law, two dogs, and several cats. For many years, we ran a professional organic vegetable farm and sold our produce at local farmers’ markets every weekend. It was a wonderful experience, but now we’re starting a new chapter. Our main focus is shifting towards caring for our orchards and trees, while continuing to grow a diverse vegetable garden for our family’s own food and maybe in the future also for some local stores. Life on the farm is always busy and full of ideas and projects. We love creating, improving, planting, building and learning, so there is always something interesting going on. We are looking for volunteers who are excited to become part of our evolving farm, enjoy hands-on projects, and like seeing the results of their work. For September, we’re looking for a female volunteer to support me in ever...

Volunteers accepted between June to October only. We have created Thailand's first Earthship inspired building in an organic orchard in the mountainous region in the north. I have 10 years experience building with rice husks (hulls) which is an excellent material for monsoon areas, and I have combined this knowledge with ideas from Earthships to create a truly cool building, dry and cold in heat and rain, and warm in winter, using natural and local materials, and recycled tires and bottles. This is a chance to learn and understand how a tropical earthship is made. Mostly gardening work is needed, plus some internet work explaining and publicising tropical earthships. Some maintenance may be needed on the Earthship. We can offer a wood and bamboo guesthouse to stay in, in an orchard, and we have a sun heated shower. There is a small kitchen, or you can use the kitchen in the earthship. You can see 2 photos of the guesthouse and 2 of the earthship. This area is very beautiful and pea...

I need some help to renovate an old cottage (build in 1880): painting walls and ceilings; working with roof pans and mortar (from inside), help in the garden. Other families in my little village (100 persons) will ask also for help by you. I offer of course accomodation and food - but I am a lousy cook!!. Inside the house is still something like a construction site, so accomodation is a little bit primitiv.

I'm Thanasis, a 45 years old greek man living in the South of the Peloponnes. I'm a farmer, with oranges trees and some olive trees. I also have a shop, mainly selling coffee that I roast on site. I need help all the year to maintain the big farm (orange and olive harvest, trees pruning, pick-up fallen oranges, and so on..) If you come, you will have your own room (1 for a couple or separate), and access to all the rest of the house (kitchen, bathroom...). I like to share the meal, and provide food if you want to cook. You also can use WI-FI connection. You could enjoy the life between the farm and the city of Skala Lakonia, wich offer a lot of coffee shop, restaurants, and any kind of stores. Minimum stay is 2 weeks, to allow time to learn about life on the farm. I need help for a maximum of 5 hours per day, 5 days per week, depending on the weather. I really like to meet new people and introduce them to Greece history. I practice karaté (three times per week) and would be happy t...

Please take notice : Volunteers very welcome again for all kinds of jobs. Starting second half of September 2026! Ours is a small property of around 2 has extension of arable land, at the moment the largest part is used for animal forages (mainly corn and alfalfa). In a smaller part, we are implementing organic vegetables, herbs and other crops. Some years ago we established a fruit orchard (apples and peaches), which we are currently trying to diversify. We hope this can be our main activity in the future. We also built two small greenhouses where we plant mainly tomatoes and lettuce, also diversifying now (blueberries). Recently we established a tiny forest, that requieres a lot of attention. There are a lot of problems to solve, mainly insects and birds' attacks, too much sun and water shortage. We are working on solutions one by one (nets, barriers, shadow plants, water reservoirs). All kind of help is welcome, although we need mostly people with some experience in growing o...

Simply indicate your available dates in your request. The help mainly involves cleaning, cooking, garden maintenance or small painting jobs.

Welcome to Bago maze and wine , a family operated business , farming and tourist activities PLEASE read our description and our conditions at the end as we feel some helpers are arriving unprepared to live away from easy access to shopping or other activities. We have an ongoing construction of paths through our forest for environmental walks if you want to participate in their construction as well as maintaining our present mazes , one operational and one in development stage. If you have a passion for making structures out of timber (Australian hardwoods) we are in a small building phase, it’s easy to learn a lot from a passionate timber person . Winner of the 2022 New South Wales and Australian National landscape architecture award for the best small projects for our maze. We are in the phase of expanding our maze areas. This is going to be a place of gardens and dreams , if you are interested in making a large outdoor art installation out of natural materials we will welcome y...
