AVAILABLE: March 9 We have the perfect location for you, whether you've just arrived and would rather prepare for your trip of a lifetime away from the city hostels and practice your english with locals or are about to leave and need to sell your vehicle. We're on State Highway 16, the alternate route north from Auckland, so we're an excellent choice if you're heading towards Cape Reinga or the Bay of Islands, or a stopping point on your way south again. Sheep, chickens, ducks, turkeys, geese and bees share our sweeping views of the Kaipara Harbour. We have numerous varieties of fruit trees, including a few exotic species, and large areas for vegetables and berries. We have two cats, Luna and Pearl, and two dogs (Boxers), Arya and Koa. ...

Looking for a lovely volunteer to join us and our animals. AVAILABILITY FROM the middle of APRIL. We are fully booked until then. Please contact us if you are interested in helping look after our wonderful animals. Experience with horses is useful but not necessary as long as you are happy to care for them. You will live as part of the family - during your stay, our home will be your home. We are a married couple living on a property with our DOGS, HORSES and some elderly but treasured chickens. Depending on the time of year, we also run a small scale rescue and rehabilitation centre for hedgehogs. There are stunning views looking out over a Devon Wildlife Nature Reserve and beautiful countryside. We live in a very attractive rural area of Devon on the outskirts of a beautiful old village called DOLTON (please look on "Google Earth") about a 45 minute drive from Dartmoor National Park. Hi, my name is Demi. I’m originally from Switzerland and I inhabit a beautiful place in the tourist area of Siem Reap from a warm-hearted 72-year-old Cambodian landlady who also lives on the property. I'm in the process of building a yoga retreat center and would be happy to anyone who wants to help and participate with their energy, knowledge, and creativity. Accommodation - Private room with Bathroom - Affordable meals available nearby. ( Kitchen for cooking shared meals in planning.) - Safe, supportive, and friendly environment. - Free yoga classes and yoga mats available. Cultural exchange and learning opportunities: Experiencing Cambodian culture alone is a worthwhile adventure - Meet the friendly locals, try Khmer food, explore local markets and craft shops, watch traditional dance performance, learn something about the history and of course visit the famous Angkor Wat temple! There are many different tasks that the volunteers can try out and I'm eager to explain how it is don...

I am looking for people that are passionate about dogs and like to spend time and work with dogs. A pack of 24 huskies is something different than having a pet dog at home. You will be able to join our animal assisted programs with kids and young adults and learn about it. I am educated in dog physiotherapy as well and there is the possibility to learn in this field as well. Beside the main topic the huskies we have bee hives and produce our own honey. There is a big garden with fruits and vegetables that needs maintainance. To sum it up our work here is mainly outdoors with nature and animals. Every day is different so its not possible to give you a long term daily structure in advance. There are some everyday tasks in the dogcare but the rest of the work depends on the weather and the season. As we live in a small village the main freetime activities are biking and hiking. More freetime options you find in cities around in your days off. Vienna is quite close and its possible to ta...

Gardening, housework, light mechanical, a bit of hunting, all sorts of things, never boring.A wicked sense of humor is a good asset to bring. handy to routburn and greenstone tracks.you will need your own internet connection as I don't supply wifi. ,a bit isolated, not for the precious,no trophy hunters !! .please don`t apply unless you intend to come for a minimum stay of two weeks. One person only.we do not get involved with internships or visa applications.vegetarians and vegans would probably not be comfortable as we eat meat daily. I am off grid and totally dependent on solar, so you have to charge your devices during the day and definitely no hairdryers ! Accommodation is a house bus in warmer weather or a room in the house in winter, not shared usually. Lastly I also play the guitar ( badly ) and sing ( worse ) ,but it's all about smile not style :-) Cheers Al

2026 Update: We are currently booking for the season and prefer stays of 2+ months. It works great when we can host folks for most or all of the full growing season as these helpers will have additional access to a range of more formal educational opportunities including enrollment in onsite classes as well as offsite workshops or classes offered through other organizations. 2026 season projects include: assist with poultry (feeding and care, egg collection only as we do not slaughter animals here); assist with events; regular garden related tasks (no till soil prep, planting, seed starting in greenhouses, transplanting, weeding, harvesting, mulching); food preservation (canning, freezing, fermentation, pickling, drying); seed collection, processing, and packaging; general landscaping including mowing, weedwacking, blackberry removal, pruning, mulching; firewood harvest including chopping, stacking, cleanup; and more. In exchange for 1.5 hours help/day, I provide free accommodation and use of all facilities. That includes use of the bicycles, laundry, fast wifi and work-out area. The kitchen is well-stocked with spices and condiments, but you provide for your own meals. Currently a private room with a superking size bed and tv is available for a couple or a dorm bed for a single person in the shared dorm. Or you are welcome to put up your tent in the front yard if you so prefer. It is a 5 minute walk to the centre of Takaka here in the centre of Golden Bay so all facilities are convenient. And it is an easy bicycling distance to the beaches and trails/caves and rock climbing. Hours are flexible usually depending on your schedule. This allows you to enjoy an entire day off when the weather is looking great. I require at least a 3 day stay or longer commitment up to a few weeks. Help needed includes house and garden cleanup and some tree pruning. The house is shared usually with 2-3 people dependin...

Looking for a helper for JUNE 2026 please and thank you! I used HelpX quite a lot back in 2014, while I was backpacking around Australia and had some great experiences and some wonderful hosts and I'm looking forward to meeting more wonderful people and being a wonderful host! I bought a fixer upper house in 2023, moved in 2024 and have been renovating it to turn it into a small bespoke massage and yoga training centre ever since. Currently renovating the kitchen and side room (see floor plans) and the joiner is coming on Wednesday 15th April to put the sink back in properly and finish off a few other bits in the hallway and entrance way. While I'm renovating the house I'm working in a children's nursery as lunch cover/supply staff. I'm at work for 3-6 hours a day and out of the house for an extra hour while walking to and from work. I get up around 7am to feed the cats and myself. Monsieur Cuddles will usually request to leave his room around 6am, so I let him roam the house for ...

Kia ora, travellers! Haere mai - welcome - to my whare (home) in beautiful Honeymoon Valley, surrounded by native rainforest, birds and insects. We built this eco-earth house using local clay from right under our feet. This land used to be just grass, but after 30 years of caring for this whenua, it now has mature trees, orchards, and organic gardens. Life here is peaceful and quiet, perfect for enjoying nature I am part of the local landcare group, helping protect our native forest, birds, lizards, and insects. We trap predators and remove invasive weeds. You could help with organic/permaculture gardening: vegetables, flowers, herbs, fruit trees, chickens, mowing, brush-cutting, compost-making, maintenance and fixing things (basic carpentry, painting), sewing, cleaning, chopping firewood. I bake bread. I make apple cider vinegar, bottle fruit, jam, chutney, sauerkraut, and collect seeds. My place fits independent, mature helpers who have work & life experience. I work at our local...

Right now 10th April we have space until the 22nd of April. So if you are looking for somewhere from today or tomorrow send us a message. The work will be cleaning and tidying. We are also looking for helpers from the start of May. We have three small cabins, two with double beds and one with a single bed so room for up to five helpers normally but only four at the moment (two double beds).. All the helpers share a kitchen and bathroom. From the start of May we need help with some building work so preference will be given to people who already have some skills with tools.. We are a great place to start or end your time in New Zealand as we are only 45 minutes drive from Auckland airport. The work will be varied and interesting but usually building and garden based. It could include finishing off an underground earth bag hobbit hole. We have a passion for earth building and organic gardening. Its good if you are over the age of 20, are self motivated and can work unsupervised. We are...

Hi Happy travelers We are looking to host helpers & are interested in people who have a genuine love of animals and are happy to help around both the house and out on the farm. We are on a 100-acre hill property that is a mixture of pasture and bush which makes a nice backdrop to walk around and listen to the native birds, pat the pet cows Pearl, Honey Bee & Marry Jane & take the dogs along for a walk. We are in north Rodney, 5 minutes to the west coast (great fishing, Kayaking) 40 mins to the east coast (best swimming, surfing beaches and 1 hour from Auckland central & around the same to Whangarei (gateway to the North) Ideal base for Northland ventures. We hand rear 100 -300 calves per year usually from March-Nov and have a couple of horses along with cattle, sheep, chooks, working dogs and two-house cats so you must like being around animals. We -- two men, and sometimes our 33-year-old son Etienne, and sometimes an old HelpXer or two who are still coming back -- live in a beautiful old log house on a traditional, self-sufficient, Kootenay homestead. We've generally got chickens, sheep, ducks, gardens, fruit trees. We're in a small community surrounded by wilderness: Argenta is a friendly place of 120 people — Quakers, hippies and just folks — on the northern tip of Kootenay Lake, at one end of the Earl Grey Trail. (You can walk here in four days from Invermere, or come the more usual way by road!) There's always farm work (gardening, animals, preserving food and lots more) and lots of projects (building, fencing, wilderness trail building...). And, depending on the season, there's hiking, fishing, canoeing, sailing, skiing, skating and skinny-dipping (yup, lots of naked people here) in one of our ponds or in Kootenay Lake. We have a lot of homesteading experience and are very happy to share it. If you're interested...

Kia Ora and hi Help-x helpers, We're Chris and Meri. We live on a little farm with some beautiful rural views, native birds & bush and a beautiful little stream that runs through the property where we're gradually restoring the natural environment and native habitats. We're interested in all of nature, particularly keen on Australasian birds (being from Australian, NZ and South Pacific Islands) and we're involved from time to time with bird conservation and ornithological projects. We run a little flock of South Suffolk Sheep, we have free Range Brown Shaver Chickens, some Khaki Campbell Ducks (perfect eggs for baking!), have a pair of very rare Cape Barren Geese and we also have a little fruit tree Orchard too. We enjoy good conversation, cooking and sharing good food (and favourite recipes) with others and your stay wouldn't be complete without experiencing a few of Meri's traditional yummy Indonesian styled dishes. We share making meals together and welcome helpers to help make...

We are restoring an old traditional Béarnaise house located at the foot of the Pyrenees in the Ouzom valley. We want to share it with people who can help us with the garden as well as with the house to maintain or restore it. Assistance activities concern the maintenance or restoration of buildings (lime plaster, carpentry, plumbing, electricity, etc), maintenance of the garden (brush clearing) and its vegetable garden, whether it is windy or raining, depending on the projects in progress and the skills of each. Slug hunting to be planned every evening at nightfall. Once a week a complete cleaning of the premises will be carried out by all. We ask for 5 hours help a day, 5 days a week. We offer accommodation in a large 4-bed dormitory. Please, bring your work gloves and clothes , if you have any. Everyone must be autonomous and responsible enough to know how to clean and store the tools or things they have used, as well as to participate daily, outside helping time, in all the househo...

We transform an ancient farm barn into a Beekeepers service centre. Doing so we use a broad range of traditional and new technologies in a manner we think it fits best to our time and our project. The meaning of our ideas is to live in harmony with local resources. This year, outdoor wall construction, carpentry and woodwork, building a wooden floor for dancing workshops and Yogga, and of course beekeeping (10 hives to be extended). Besides beekeeping we do not farming. In autumn bees season is ending but we still accept guests. I am looking forward to construct a seasonal heat storage from uni Stuttgart soon, look for "Solspaces" if You want to learn abut it. We have a beautiful old house with private guest rooms to stay, shared kitchen and bathroom, we offer food and accommodation, mostly vegetarian but not only, good honey is always on table. First thing we expect from volunteers is willingness to learn by practice, we have in the past arrived a lot of good things only...

This is only the second school in Nagarkot, nice Nepalese village in Bhaktapur district; a 1.5 hrs bus ride from Kathmandu. It hopes to provide an English medium education for underprivileged children. The school has 7 staff members taking care of its 80+ students - aged from 4 to 12 years old - and would benefit from any help volunteers can provide. Volunteers can expect to as class helpers and also share teaching tips with the school if they can. Volunteers can also help beautify the classrooms murals to help the kids as visual aids during their school time. Becoming an independent class teacher is also an option for long-term volunteers as soon as they have a grasp on the school's curriculum and vision for students. Other jobs for volunteers include: - Writing class exercises and homework exercises for students (we have no printing/photocopying facilities) - Designing class quizzes and tests - Introducing interactive, educational games through which children can learn ...

Join Our Home in Walnut Creek: A Unique Opportunity for Connection and Support Hello! My name is Bruce, and I’m looking for a reliable, friendly person to assist me with everyday life while also forming a meaningful connection. About Me and Our Home I broke my neck at 18, resulting in lifelong use of a wheelchair. Despite this, I pursued multiple degrees and have built a fulfilling life with my wife, Kim. We live in a cozy three-bedroom home in Walnut Creek, just 28 miles east of San Francisco. Our household includes our service dog, Bennett, a future service dog in training (Dorothy, our third), and two cats, Edna and Scarlett. Your Role & Contribution While Kim is my full-time caregiver, I need help with tasks that offset my paralysis, including: - Household Tasks – Light cleaning, keeping the kitchen tidy, and helping with laundry. - Personal Assistance – Bringing me food, water, and other necessities I can’t manage on my own. - Driving & Companionship – Taking...

We run a well-known organic market garden in the Alpes Maritime, right on the Riviera coast and the Italian border. It is an area of outstanding natural beauty and popular with tourists. Our garden is on mountain terraces above the town, but only a 10 minute walk to the beach and 20 to the old town. Access is easy by train or bus from Nice or Italy. For the next 5 months we are looking for hands-on and experienced support with a number of urgent tasks. This could be a paid situation for an experienced person willing to contract for the season which ends 30 September. The work includes sowing, planting, fertilising, harvesting for market, basic landscaping, fencing, irrigation repair and DIY/maintenance and will probably best suit a fit and younger male helper. We may also take 1 or 2 experienced volunteers for shorter periods. As a produce grower, our crops include organic lemons, oranges, avocados, vegetables. Leaf crops and herbs. These we sell at a combination of local market, hig...

We are on an 70 acre farm in North Pope County, Illinois and are virtually surrounded by the Shawnee National Forest. Having been on this farm for 13 years, we are still developing infrastructure and are continuing to plant in the orchard and various berries as well as establishing and expanding garden and crop areas. We are a GMO, herbicide and pesticide free farm in all of our outdoor areas. As we are far away from "modern agricultural" property, we feel that we should have no problems with cross pollination of our crops with GMO's or damage/exposure from/to ag chemicals. There are many projects currently in process or in the planning stages. This summer/fall we hope to get new water and electric lines ran to all the barns and the greenhouse as well as get a fiber studio framed in and get the finishing touches on the greenhouses. Tasks on the farm are endless, so there are always things to do year round. Clearing brush, cutting wood, building fence, baling hay, sawing lumber, ...

We started our Vineyard back in 2004,it is located in a Beautiful,Quiet,Valley along the bluffs of the Mississippi River. We have five children that have now grown and moved out on there own. I just retired from a career of Process Instrument Work at the local power plant. I could use some help with the Vineyard and Gardens, but also enjoy fishing and boating on the river in the evenings and of course days off. We would be willing to supply your own bedroom, great meals and WiFi. We also have two Female Collies that love to get brushed and played with. The ideal person would have to be able to work on there own or in a small group, after some training of course to get you up to your comfort level, so as you basically understand what the goals might be for the time of year and tasks at hand, a five hour day,if the weather permits, is what we usually work . There might be a few longer days, but I`m sure that having time off to check out the area won`t be any problem. If you would care t...

Spring is fast approaching and we are waking up with the animals ready to be engaged in all the nice projects around here! Our extended family around the Dragon Temple is looking for 1-2 volunteers to help with garden work and natural building projects :) You need to be comfortable in your own skin and able to take good care of yourself. We are part of the intentional community of Solbacka, located in southern Finland in a "secret" valley between forest and a protected nature reserve with crystal clear lakes and exciting rocky high hills. 10 adults and 3 kids share the vision of "keeping the sacred in the center" and the basic communication tool is the Circle. We are open minded people who love to experiment with natural building(1 professional natural builder), art(3 artists) and body therapies(5 professionals practicing massage, tantra, dance, etc...) We like to help each other live more in awareness of allowing the Sacred to enter everyday life. To that purpose Charlie and Petra...

Namaste! Thank you for stopping by. :-) I hope you will join me on my journey for a month, 2 months, or long-term. I have a pair of picturesque, riverfront hobby farms, each with a large 4-bedroom house. I am transitioning the farms to more of a communal space. There are three acres of wild blueberries that I am currently converingt to organic production, six acres of pasture, and about eight acres of woods that provide more than enough firewood to heat both homes without having to clear-cut any areas. I have a small herd of alpacas and an even smaller flock of chickens, whom I allow to free range. We harvest a small portion of our food from the property, and my vision is to increase that slowly and steadily every year. For a long-term (and possibly lifetime) stay, I would particularly interested in these 3 individuals: 1. Someone to manage the livestock, including monthly shots for the alpacas 2. Someone to process and market the alpaca fibre 3. Someone to manage the little antiq...

We would be willing to supply your own bedroom, great meals and WiFi. We also have two Female Collies that love to get brushed and played with. We can't wait to meet you in the Cotswolds! We have a large Georgian Farmhouse just outside Castle Combe - one of Englands most beautiful Cotswolds villages, which was used as the location for Stephen Spielberg`s movie `War Horse` and many other famous TV and film titles. We are looking for helpers throughout the year to assist with all the day to day organisation such as cleaning, bed making, gardening, DIY, waiting at table etc and we usually prefer if you can stay three weeks or longer. We have a lovely Vintage Shepherds Hut where our helpers sleep during the summer months. In the winter we have a cosy room in the Farmhouse available.
