Hello! Would you like to stay in a villa by the sea? I offer free accommodation in exchange for a few hours of help. The villa is located 15 minutes from Ajaccio. It has bedrooms with private bathrooms, a gym with a spa, a jacuzzi in a landscaped garden, large terraces and a swimming pool. The beaches are just a short walk away, with small coves and natural pools directly opposite the villa. The panoramic sea views and sunsets make the setting particularly idyllic. Simply indicate your available dates in your request. The help mainly involves cleaning, cooking, garden maintenance or small painting jobs. We are a cultural and arts community that is working towards being self-sustained. The community is situated in the mountains of Monchique, Portugal surrounded by nature. Our community provides an alternative way of living with permaculture gardens, farm animals, sustainability projects, and arts and cultural workshops. It is a great place to come to meet other like-minded people if you are passionate about sustainability and alternative living. We hold community meetings throughout the week alongside activities and workshops, such as quiz nights, dance nights and yoga classes. If you have something you are passionate about and want to share with others, we would love for you to run a workshop. One of the best things here is the variety of tasks you can do as a volunteer, which gives you the opportunity to learn new skills and discover what you enjoy doing most. We have a combination of short-term and long-term volunteers and on average we have between 10 to 20 volunteers and resident...

Come experience the true magic of Ireland on this 4 acre homestead. You will immediately feel at home in the warmth and comfort of our self built haven. From the gardens, orchards, meadows and woodland on the property, it will be easy to lose yourself, and rediscover who you are, in the wonderland of it all, as you learn new skills, and share your own.. We can wind down our day with ease, sharing our life stories over homecooked meals, that will nourish your mind, belly, and soul. Over 35+ years, my husband and I created a beautiful space with large flowerbeds, vegetable and fruit garden, two polytunnels, meadows and wooded areas out of a 4 acre meadow. Sadly, my husband died in early 2019. Though his memory remains alive with the evident love he poured into every detail of building our home. It's a lot to manage on my own, as I also work part-time in a woollen mill and as a translator. So I'm looking for help, from other women only. This involves planting, weeding, mulching, cut...

We are looking for help in the Winter months . We are a married couple who have been working at improving the old farmhouse we live in for the past twenty years. We are in our late forties but are young at heart:) We have two big dogs and a cat. Ideally you are open minded, flexible and positive even when it's raining or tasks are challenging. You are independent regarding your free time. You are focused on your work and not distracted by technology and you are physically able. You demonstrate care for the environment by having short showers , recycling properly, using environmentally friendly products for washing (e.g.by using soap , no chemicals) and by turning off lights when they are not necessary. You will have your own bedroom with wifi access and will share the bathroom with us. There is a couch in our open plan kitchen where you can relax in the evening. Maybe you would like to give yoga or meditation a try with Anne-Marie who is a qualified yoga and meditation teacher. ...

Hello kind stranger! Our names are Claire and Michiel, we're a young Franco-Belgian family living on an old farmstead near the coast of Wissant, North of France. For 8 years now we are bringing the old farmhouses back to life, while also bringing up our two daughters: Fleur (5 yo) and Perle (3 yo). We've been hosts since 2021 and we love the life that a group of volunteers brings to our place. Making you discover French culture, nature and the sea helps us to enjoy it even more ourselves. Teaching French and picking up on your languages widens our world view and helps our kids to be future globetrotters - like you! The different nationalities we're welcoming make us feel like travelling the world while staying at home. Every day we're hosting, it widens our horizon and gives us love, laughter and friendship. So far we've made an old stable into our home, we've renovated a 'longère' (long farmbuilding) into a woodworker's workshop, our workshop and office space, we've landscaped the c...

We live on an alternative lifestyle block with "off grid", barn living. On the property we have a small organic banana farm which uses permaculture design principles and composted food waste from City to Farm — an initiative that gathers food scraps from urban areas and delivers them to nearby farms. We have horses, dogs, chickens, and graze cattle regeneratively. For accommodation we have a big barn space which can house a lot of people comfortably. Currently one young kiwi staying there. Where possible we grow and eat our own fruit and veges from our vege garden and our small grove of fruit trees. We also have 15 acres of regenerated native bush on our property which needs tending to. Our water is supplied from rain water, and a natural spring, and the property runs on solar. Meals will be vegetarian, happy to accommodate vegans as well! Most of your work will be in the bananas, but there will also be the opportunity to work with the animals, in the bush, in the vege garden/orchar...

We are the best of friends who live together and run a 24-hour restaurant in Oneonta, New York. We built our Deli with our own hands, using old rustic barn wood and other recycled materials. We love working together to serve good, wholesome food in a warm, encouraging environment — a haven from the storms of life. Our community is part of a worldwide network of communities, many of which also run restaurants, organic farms, and cottage industries where volunteers are also welcome to live and work with us. We all work together in our houses and at our Deli. There is a lot to do in maintaining a community. We have two large houses where we live and the Deli always needs constant care and attention. We enjoy having guests and volunteers who want to get to know us by living and working with us. We gather together every morning (at 7am) and evening (at 6pm) to express whatever is on our hearts. We sing a wide variety of songs we've written and we dance there to express our joy. We give...

We're Manon, Alessandro and Brioche (I'm a dog) a little young family passionate about nature, travelling, independence, regenerative practices, agriculture, farming, gardening, trekking and life. After almost 10 years of working and travelling overseas we felt the the needs to set roots and to transform our dream in to a reality. We bought an old farm stable in ruins (dry stone building) inside a very small village and a few hectares of old chestnuts forest next to it. On one side we want to restore the old building using eco techniques, as much as we can, to transform it in to our house and on the other side we are developing a syntropic garden, a little orchard based on agroforestry systems principles that will also be applied to some parts of the chestnuts forest. We're located in South Ardèche, near the town of Joyeuse. The place is famous for its rivers, canyons and forests with plenty of hiking and biking trails, bathing spots, canyoning, rafting, climbing spots, old small vil...

In July and August we can offer you a warm "home away from home" on 2 acres of gardens in a country setting, just 10 minutes outside Tauranga. It's a bit like Hobbitons Shire meets outdoor gym 😄, as most shrubs and small trees need pruning, wood needs splitting and garden tidy jobs need attention before spring. We have two cats (1 Mainecoon, one moggie hunter), two playful dogs, many fruit trees and lots of much loved outdoor plants, including many NZ native plants. At times we raise our own (friendly) lambs and pigs and do some home processing into hams, bacon etc. Your cottage is mostly just yours, clean and very comfortable 60m2 accommodation separate from the main house with 1 bedroom, a bathroom/shower, own washing machine, a large living area, a nice little kitchen, and wifi. We like 2 people at a time, and for a week or two, depending on work available. You'll definitely want a car to get around. There is always plenty to do with a wide variety of tasks both outside an...

We are looking for two people with building and practical experience with building or fencing, building steps, planting/gardening and who enjoy physical, mostly outdoor work. Our jobs require practical experience, or willingness to learn - gardening, cleaning, spraying, weed-eating, washing the house, windows etc. We don't currently have airbnb guests so you would get to stay in the luxury airbnb unless we get a booking, then you would either sleep in a sofa bed in the cabin or if you prefer your van and just use our shared spaces. We love hosting travelers and enjoy also getting jobs done on our list. With having 10 acres to care for, there is always something to do. Ideally you would have a vehicle as we do live rurally. We will give you food and accommodation in exchange for 4 hours of work. We love having first time helpers and help you map out your journey in the north or just help you get used to being in NZ. Chris loves playing games and we also have a hot tub. Mos...

Nestled in the coastal range of Mendocino County, California (about 45 minutes Northwest of Ukiah where the weather is more pleasant) we are establishing a small farm and wildlife sanctuary.  Based on principles of sustainability & permaculture our expanding ridge top garden and orchards consist of a variety of fruits, veggies, herbs and flowers.  Aside from garden and orchard tasks additional projects may include gathering seaweed and other native wild foods, cooking, canning, fermenting foods, making herbal preparations, habitat restoration, brush and trail clearing, small scale green building and learning how to build and maintain an off-grid infrastructure and solar system. Please read all of our information before contacting us. We require a one month minimum stay, and currently we have space beginning July 1st. Our homestead is remote and therefore not for everyone. We prefer those who want to unplug and enjoy the serenity of a mountain forest. If you are open minded, love t...

I live in the little picturesque hamlet of Stanley which is just a 10 minute drive from Historic Beechworth. North East Victoria. It’s approx 3&1/2 hours drive north of Melbourne. I need helpxers to provide assistance with lifting heavy items to remove clutter and take to the tip, also some cleaning, gardening, wood chopping and plastering. I am open to taking a couple and there is a self-contained cabin with a double loft bed. Although I’ve listed ‘accommodation only’, I will cook and provide some meals when I can. I would like to practice my beginner Italian language skills. I love being a HelpX host! It is so much fun to meet people from other places and other cultures. I have met some of the most wonderful people, some who are now life-long friends. Previously I lived in North Sydney, I then moved to Manly Beach. And now I’ve bought a house in the Victorian High Country.

Our home is located 7km from central Taupo. There is no public transport available. We have a large native plant garden and a property which needs to be kept tidy as we have visitors coming for the garden and to view our art collection. Taupo is centrally located so many tourist attractions are available within a 2-3 hour drive. There is no public transport nearby so having your own car is essential. Arrival time is from 4pm. Helpers have their own bedroom with views over the garden, good beds, clean linen and own bathroom. We live on a no smoking, no vaping, drugs/covid free property. In exchange for accommodation and 3 meals a day helpers work from 8.30am until 1pm then have lunch and the rest of the day free for sightseeing/personal activities. Join Our Home in Walnut Creek: A Unique Opportunity for Connection and Support Hello! My name is Bruce, and I’m looking for a reliable, friendly person to assist me with everyday life while also forming a meaningful connection. About Me and Our Home I broke my neck at 18, resulting in lifelong use of a wheelchair. Despite this, I pursued multiple degrees and have built a fulfilling life with my wife, Kim. We live in a cozy three-bedroom home in Walnut Creek, just 28 miles east of San Francisco. Our household includes our service dog, Bennett, a future service dog in training (Dorothy, our third), and two cats, Edna and Scarlett. Your Role & Contribution While Kim is my full-time caregiver, I need help with tasks that offset my paralysis, including: - Household Tasks – Light cleaning, keeping the kitchen tidy, and helping with laundry. - Personal Assistance – Bringing me food, water, and other necessities I can’t manage on my own. - Driving & Companionship – Taking...

Hi there Traveler We offer a farm stay with great views and good conversation. We chopped down a pine forest and replanted with Manuka about 4 years ago so it’s starting to look really great, and more native birds are about. Established a wetland reserve as well. Also we are developing another small retreat area that needs assistance with tracks and tree management. Some stock work is all so on offer but we will work with you all the time as it’s safer and more fun. cheers and safe travels Geoff and Declan

Our farm is in a remote and magical scenic area of the outer Marlborough Sounds. We have a number of cattle and their calves, hens, our dog Trixie, our cat Elmo, 2 friendly pet sheep, Ivan and Mavis. There are always interesting things that need attending to on the farm and in our vegetable garden. We have many areas of garden and regenerating native bush. Plenty of variety on the projects.

Work may include painting, housework, gardening, hedge trimming, firewood, small maintenance jobs and weed control. Bring suitable footwear as we work in all weathers. The washing machine is available to use the day before you leave. W...

Welcome to Bago maze and wine , a family operated business , farming and tourist activities PLEASE read our description and our conditions at the end as we feel some helpers are arriving unprepared to live away from easy access to shopping or other activities. We have an ongoing construction of paths through our forest for environmental walks if you want to participate in their construction as well as maintaining our present mazes , one operational and one in development stage. If you have a passion for making structures out of timber (Australian hardwoods) we are in a small building phase, it’s easy to learn a lot from a passionate timber person . Winner of the 2022 New South Wales and Australian National landscape architecture award for the best small projects for our maze. We are in the phase of expanding our maze areas into a new rush maze This is going to be a place of gardens and dreams , if you are interested in making a large outdoor art installation out of natural materi...
