I can't see the world, but the world can come see me. First and foremost, I want to thank all the helpers who came from United Kingdom-England, France, Belgium, Italy, China, Japan, Australia and New Zealand. Welcome Helpers. We are a family of 5 living in the Appalachian Mountains of West Virginia. Sue is the founder of Peaceful Hollow. Her daughter Ruth moved to the Hollow later as well as her husband Tim and their 2 daughters. Our hollow is quite with no neighbors in sight. There are no city lights, and you can see every star on a clear night! Our homestead consists of Sue, Tim & Ruth's cabins and one very small guest cabin. Also, there is an private guestroom with private entrance on the second floor above the workshop/cabin combination. . We have a lot you can be involved in, knowledge to share, friendships to build, and opportunities for growth. Below are our routines and some projects. We would love to involve you! - Caring for our chickens, cats, dogs, one registered...

Small lifestyle block with fantastic views 10 minutes drive from Tauranga city. We have two children aged 8 and 6. Both of us parents work and are hoping for some help with keeping the house tidy, help with yard work and help with the children. If you enjoy gardening and cooking you will fit in well. Our usual arrangement would be for 4 hours or work per day for room and meals. We would be looking for someone to join us for up to 2 weeks, perhaps longer of it was working out well. Our property is in the countryside so a car would be required. The place is comfortable, warm and dry and with excellent views, a pool and a gym. We cook well and enjoy good conversation. No smokers, no pets, polite and easy-going people only please.

We are a group of friends who decided three years ago to restore a beautiful old village/motel in Jindabyne. We are looking for like minded individuals who are passionate about restoration/building and maintenance, love nature and have a good nature and willing to share a laugh over some good food. We have hosted people from all around the world, including all over Europe, Asia, North and South America. The motel is a 5-minute drive from local amenities such as supermarkets, shops, pubs, and a skate park. From June to September there are plenty of winter activities including skiing, tobogganing, and snowboarding at nearby ski resorts, just 30 minutes away. In summer, there are plenty of hikes, mountain biking, fishing, as well as the beach at Jindabyne Lake, Blue Lake and we are 30 minutes from the tallest mountain in Australia- Mount Koscioscko. Yarrangobilly Caves and nearby thermal pools are about one hour away. Our beautiful site features a serene river, where you can go...

I am an aquatic ecologist who has fortunately been working out of our coastal rain-forest property for 35 years. Driven by strong curiosity, I have recently been developing long-term data sets on the animal life in the forest that surrounds our home, plus on tropical marine fish that are steadily increasing in numbers under the influence of climate change at the nearby very beautiful Seal Rocks area (for details click on my website link below). We have 20 acres with 2 acres cleared and the remainder moist tall forest and rainforest. It is on the coast 3 hrs drive north of Sydney (1.5km from Smiths Lake; 30km south of Forster) See my blog link below to glimpse the accommodation, typical work and fun. We have a 180 squ m vegetable garden at times needing attention which has been enclosed to keep out our friends the wallabies (pademelons), possums, parrots and native bush turkeys. Bush regeneration is another activity as well as assisting in ecological surveys of local rivers when t...

We are a family of four, Simon, Josie and our two boys. We are situated in the beautiful Yarra Valley, with views over the mountains. On our farm we grow a wide range of bio-dynamic fruit, nuts and veg including chestnuts, walnuts, nashis, avocados, strawberries, free range eggs and a mixed home orchard and vegetable garden. We are in the process of designing and developing the property at the moment. We are currently building our farm shed (out of recycled materials) so will need help framing and cladding. We are concentrating on cleaning up the property (clearing blackberry with brush cutter). We need odd jobs done around the house, the home garden and home orchard. We are also continually collecting and storing firewood. We are preparing areas for berry production. We have just planted avocado trees that need to be mulched and watered. Strawberry plants are about to start harvesting. We have 250 chickens for free range egg production as part of our system. They will need daily car...

Situated on the edge of the Great Divide, we are surrounded by great views, Kangaroos, Wombats, Echidna and numerous bird species including wedge tail eagles, Rosella's and Kookaburras. Just an hour from Melbourne [less from the airport] we can arrange pick up. Our farm has Highland Cattle, Chooks and a large Vegie garden/orchard. While we have no urgent work requirements and the farm is only our hobby [we are semi retired ] there is always something to do, however we have no paid employment available and cannot add points for visa extension. We have a spare room with double bed or we can accommodate 2 x singles as well. The nearest public transport is 15 minute drive and we can drop people of most days as we go past the station nearly every day. Our current projects are house painting, wood cutting and gardening.

Located in Mani, in the very south of mainland Greece, about 300m above sea level in the foothills of the Taygetos mountain range, overlooking the Messinian Gulf you'll find my 3ha of half olive grove, interspersed with native trees and the other half a naturally grown woodland. I have converted to organic status and returned the land to traditional farming methods, next is growing fruit and vegetables and perhaps keeping some livestock.. The work in hand is varied and includes the maintenance of trees and harvest of olives, clearing land, rebuilding dry stone walls and housing. I aim to combine traditional materials, from sustainable resources, and recycled materials wherever possible and would welcome your help at any time of year, especially though at harvest time Nov.-Feb. In general I prefer longer stays, at least 2 weeks, longer after a trial period. Update: The PV park is up and running for some years now. The house is as good as finished, using mainly locally sourced and re-u...

Beautiful 56 acre mountainous property, completely off grid with a small hardwood house /cottage that I have built using milled wood from trees on the property , with lovely views everywhere . Also doing a lot work to improve the land and infrastructure. There are over 4 kilometers of walking trails through gorgeous forest, on this completely vegan property, with mountainous views all over ranging from 150 to 230 meters above sea level. The beautiful forest trails have old growth national park like forest at the very top. Lots of wildlife to see , with all kinds of exotic birds , including families of black cockatoo’s which live here in the pine’s, and beautiful little kingfisher birds, yellow robins, willy wagtails and kookaburras to name a few. We have recently found koalas living on the property in the flooded gum trees, with many wallabies and goanna’s are everywhere in summer ! Lots of lovely contemplative spots to relax , . *I have space for 1-2 people from 20 December to 6 January. For some of that time, you would be housesitting while I am away for a few days, and feeding my cat. Please get in touch now if you're interested. * I have a charming, sunny, comfortable home with a lovely garden and a beautiful view over the harbour and mountains. It is very central, well connected to transport, with big parks and green belt very close. I usually only have one bed available, so mostly take 1 person at a time - only occasionally can I take 2 people. In return for two hours work in the house and garden per day, I will provide free accommodation and breakfast. I speak fluent Spanish and can help with someone learning English. I have a sociable lifestyle with many friends, and helpers are welcome to join in on some dinners. But I do need Helpxers who are independent too, since there will be times when I am very busy and not around much. If you're good at cleaning, gardening, painting and doing home maintena...

Hello Helpers! I live on a small 5 acre lifestyle block, 48 km South of Auckland CBD, that is also home to one horse (Meg), two small inside dogs (Alfie and Lacey), a cat (Sylvie) and some free-range hens who happily provide eggs for our breakfast. I can offer short stays of approximately ONE WEEK only, for a single helper or a couple. Mature, practical-minded people with a few years life experience, a good work ethic and a good understanding of the English language are preferred. None of the jobs are difficult but you do need to be reasonably FIT and you need to be able to work independently. Non-smokers/non-vapers only please. I've had some amazing helpx helpers that have helped establish the kitchen gardens and some help is now needed on general gardens and landscaping. Depending on the time of the year, some of the tasks you may be asked to help with are: planting trees/shrubs, weeding and mulching garden beds, grubbing thistles, paddock weeds and brush-cutting (strimming/w...

My name is Victor and I have been teaching English to young people from my community for 8 years. Tehuantepec is located 20 minutes from the ocean beach community, Salina Cruz. I am located only a five minutes taxi ride from the local bus station. My students need more practice talking to people who speak fluent and clear english. I ask for five or six hours a day working with my students and in return I offer a place for you to sleep and one meal a day and a tour around the city to show you my local culture. A nice honest person is good enough. This is a relaxing place, close to nature, away from the backpacker trail on the coast but still got a bit happening, somewhere to recharge your batteries, do a bit of work, have a laugh and meet some real Aussies, maybe get out of your comfort zone a bit😜 My place is a cattle farm with one skinny, old farmer, one dog, some cattle, lots of birds and wildlife, relaxing place, near Kyogle, a quiet country town, which is 1.5 hours drive west from Byron Bay. Two hours south of Brisbane by train. Very close to the beautiful Border Ranges National Park (bike ride away). I like to show people around. There is a mountain on my farm with lots of tracks to walk and a creek to swim in, There is a hammock i...

WELCOME TO PARADISE GLENORCHY! We are a busy couple working full time and needing help with our property. Based in the spot chosen by the original settling family in the area, we have a really well established garden that needs taming and some quirky buildings that need some TLC. Looking for hardy gardeners, handy DIYers and folks who are keen to just generally get stuck in. We have a great retro caravan, sleep out, outdoor kitchen and bathroom set up that's screaming out for someone, two friends or a couple to bring it to life. At this stage we a only provide breakfast, but could do lunch in some situations. We have heaps of freezer space and suggest you stock up on a few dinners, and drinks in Queenstown before you get here as the local shops are a bit pricey. Spark phone signal is limited to the end of the drive, OneNz works just fine. - free internet available. We recommend helpers have there own wheels, as we're 5km outside of Glenorchy. There is however a bike you can use if ...

Hello and welcome to beautiful Nelson! I recently sailed back to Nelson from Tonga and my yacht requires a bit of maintenance after sailing in the tropics for a few months. I have a comfortable private room available for 1 or 2 persons (female or male) who are interested in assisting me to clean and prepare my yacht for the coming summer sailing season. Maintenance jobs are varied and not hard, hospitality involves general housekeeping duties. I will assist with both maintenance and housekeeping, am happy to teach when necessary and always willing to listen to suggestions. As for sailing.. I enjoy occasionally sailing to the Abel Tasman National Park and going for hikes when the weather is cooperating. My yacht has 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, kitchen and saloon. I am generally a quiet person who enjoys reading, conversation and exercise. This is important - I do not permit drugs aboard my yacht and only light drinking (no parties). The ideal helper(s) will be detail oriented...

HELLO AGAIN We have been off helpx for a while as we wanted to sort accomodation separate from the main house and we are nearly there! If you want to get out of the city and check out a small village in New Zealand, then come visit us! WHAT / WHERE: We live in what used to be an old church; now a character-filled house. We are nestled in a rural valley surrounded by sheep and cattle farms and bush. The house and small amount of land we own are a work in progress/labour of love. We also own the local retired bank, another church and the old once-was butcher shop which means there is always plenty to do. WORK: There is no specific skills required, only a positive attitude and a smile. There is all manner of jobs to do such as painting, gardening, woodwork, restoration, farm-like work, community work.... you get the idea. There is no need to be bored and I'm sure we can find a job that suits you. So it will be mainly garden work and you may need to be able to work alone as we have a...

Come and experience life on a working cattle, seed and hay property. We run 300 head of cattle on our 560 Ha home farm, set in a beautiful valley. Join in with us as we work around the property, including tasks such as mustering, stock work in the cattle yards, fencing and machinery and vehicle maintenance. Come and see what we do with the seed and hay we grow. You might like to have a go at cleaning and bagging grass seed or coming along for the drive when we deliver hay. We rely on 4WD motor bikes and tractors for many tasks and may take the time to train you how to use these safely. Apart from experiencing farm life, we look for help in our garden and vegetable garden, as well as odd jobs in and around the house. We take care to work with safety in mind at all times and take the time to explain safety to our guests. Travel insurance is recommended. We are a friendly family of three and enjoy sharing our home with visitors, especially at meal times. A separate and spacious guest are...

I have a comfortable private room available for 1 or 2 persons (female or male) who are interested in assisting me to clean and prepare my yacht for the coming summer sailing season.
