Looking for a lovely volunteer to join us and our animals. AVAILABILITY FROM the middle of May. Please contact us if you are interested in helping look after our wonderful animals. We live in a fun share house in Maryborough, Marry Poppins Town, with awesome meals and a big edible garden. We're Mars, the owner of the property and Tracy, a former theatre/restaurant owner who's cooking the most awesome meals and looking after everyone like a mum. There're 2 adorable dogs in the family, so you must be a dog lover. Also 6 chicken and 2 ducks, so we always have fresh eggs. We need help with building and creating, and with an awesome but overgrown edible garden. We're about to put 12v solar power into the rooms, also natural air-conditioning and are finishing up the spa bath in the 2nd bathroom... so there's a bit for you to learn and lots of knowledge to take home. We like to work with fun and laughter and love to see you letting a bit of your craziness out. Be yourself and join the family... We have had awesome experiences with travellers so far 😃. Please note that there's a minimum of 1 week stay, we do not like to be used as a pit stop. There's no minimum s...

I have a lovely natural building studio space, made of super adobe, that is used as a meditation/healing/sacred temple space, set in a lovely slightly wild permaculture garden, with a bee hive, flowers, veggies etc. The studio would be completely your own private space. I am happy to share some meditation/healing practices with you if you are interested. I would love help in the garden, with weeding, mulching, planting, harvesting and helping to make the garden creative, abundant, fertile and beautiful. Also need help going to the beach to collect seaweed for the garden beds. I would like to provide some meals, and have you be independent for some as well. I really like to meet and be social with helpers , and also to spend a lot of time in meditation and writing. I live in a little rural suburb near a beautiful mangrove area , and I am 40 minutes from wilsons prom, and less to other beautiful areas. A drivers license would be very helpful .

My husband Matthias and I, Johanna, came from Germany as backpackers in the 1980s. We met here in NZ, but our home language is German. We are a family with eight children, who we home-educated throughout their school years. Three of them are now married, and we have five grandchildren. Five of our now grown-up children are living at home - either still or again - our oldest son with his wife and 4 boys is living in our cottage, and another son with his wife and baby has moved into a smaller house on our property. A friend lives in our housetruck. So life is happening to the full! Sadly, my husband passed away in January 2024 after a short time of intense illness. We miss him much! Our lifestyle block is home to a gaggle of geese, a flock of domestic ducks, around 40 chickens, some sheep and sometimes a few young male goats, - and of course many wild birds, rabbits and the tiny creatures of fields, woods and duck-pond. An old apple, apricot and peach orchard and a young walnut grove ar...

Hi beautiful people! I’m Christine, a happy spirited former language and arts teacher working across two continents. Since I retired I work in the natural health field. I live on an urban block called The Roo‘s Pouch, where I maintain a sustainable vegetable garden and created a community of nice people living with me. I live in one of the buildings on this sunny property which runs on rainwater harvesting. We avoid chlorine and contaminates by filtering, harmonizing, and energizing our own water though Ionisation. Water conservation is part of life for me. You can come to Maryborough via plane, bus or train. The Hervey Bay Airport is only 30min from my home. There are meanwhile several bus companies to choose from. If you use the train please book Maryborough town from the drop down menu. Homestay in Southern Indiana We started hosting almost 15 years ago with idea of building a wheelchair ramp for my daughter. The engineering proved to be too difficult and expensive so the ramp was never built. (Still in search of solutions to this issue.) My daughter is grown and gone now and I’m the one who is physically fragile and in need of help. We are looking for a capable and thoughtful person (or couple) to assist with housekeeping, meal prep and organization. Age doesn’t matter nearly as much as emotional maturity, honesty, and a true desire to help change lives for the better. I want you to feel like family, like a cousin or friend who has come for a stay to stay for a while. Experience with eBay, FB marketplace and photography would be very useful. A licensed driver with a vehicle would be awesome, but not a deal breaker if you don’t have one. Hi, I’m Toby, 48, from the UK. I am slowly bringing back to life a beautiful old French farm property in the Dordogne. It was previously renovated into a 16-bedroom hotel back in 1990 and sits in peaceful rural countryside, surrounded by sunshine, wildlife, vineyards and quiet country views. The house is in the French wine region between Bergerac and Saint-Émilion, around 60 km from Bordeaux and just a few kilometres from Sainte-Foy-la-Grande train station. At the moment I am working on site mostly on my own while my family is back in the UK. Replacing windows, protecting the house from the weather and keeping the garden under control has become a lot of work, so I would really appreciate some friendly help. I used HelpX once before and had a good experience, so I thought I would try again this year. The kind of help I need: The work is not usually very technical or heavy. It would mostly be practical jobs around the house and garden, such as: - clearing and organising rooms - ...

Take the bikes, pedal 2km to Waiomu; then tramp/jog to some beautiful Kauri (1/2 to 3/4hr). Do an overnighter at The Pinnacles Hut up the Kauranga Valley if yr into vast iconic views and like tramping (you need to book). If you have wheels you can do great day trips around the Peninsula. And if yr more chill, Thames has some great op-shops. Debs & I are happy boomers on the endless holiday ! Loving every second left. However, we seriously need help with the massive task of #296: gardens to create&jungle to clear ! We are keen to host people who want to help, who are comfortable speaking English (or trying) and value simple routines and shared respect. When Debs & I started hosting in 2025 we moved to the sleepout making it possible to host helpers hopefully from different cultures in the house. The...

This is a unique opportunity to live in a museum! I am the curator and caretaker of an historic homestead built between 1862-1880, located within extensive gardens. Part of the house now functions as a museum. The property is in a rural setting at Greenough - just off the Brand Hwy- 19 kms south of Geraldton and 400km north of Perth. This place can seem isolated if you do not have a car. However, I do have a bicycle available, and I take helpers into Geraldton at Least once a week, and to community events, as well as showing you local attractions. I have planted fruit trees and established an organic vegetable garden. Helpers must like animals as I have guinea pigs and 2 dogs. The property is close to isolated stretches of beach, bushland and other tourist attractions. Work includes gardening, cooking, cleaning, art projects, translating, helping keep the museum open, minor property maintenance, etc. Only have accommodation for one person at a time and prefer non-smoking helpers...

We are currently taking applications for volunteers who would available to start sometime between mid-May and the end of June and commit to at least 8 weeks . Hello, I Luvertin or family of Mombracco e’ a farm born in 2016 from zero, we renovated an old building and built the first stable for our goats with our own hands, with sacrifice and dedication we have recovered abandoned land and we are still doing it. Over the years we have participated in development projects and have built a new stable and a new wooden building, we have built the dairy to produce cheese. We are now producing and selling our products. We'd love to find some of the people who can help us on our journey. We need to start over with a family garden, raising chickens for self-consumption. We need to expand spaces for the family that has grown up and for guests. Claudio is’ really skilled new manual labor and can't wait to pair him with a handsome man to teach him and build something beautiful! Our e’ family of Claudio and Jessica with 6 children aged 14, 12, 10, 8, 5 and 0! We live in a fabulous area of the COTTIAN Alps! Monviso in the Po Valley, on the Mombracco....

My friend bought this beautiful old farm in Bjarnarfjordur witch is in the west fjords of Iceland And the westfjords were selected as top destination in the world by Lonely Planet for 2022 No one has lived there for the last 20 years so there’s plenty of things to do Mainly it’s taking care of the eiderducks (put up flags and scarecrows to keep the artic fox and seagulls away from the area) The eider nests on small islands close to the farm so we will need to take a boat or a kayak and row to the islands After the nesting season we pick up the down that they left in the nest And another thing is feeding the rainbow trout that we will be farming in tanks on land Also we have to paint and fix the old house We have our own geothermal hole that produces lots of hot water Even though it’s seems remote it’s only 35km to the next town Hòlmavík where there’s a supermarket, bank and basically everything you need From June to October we are doing whale watching trips from Hólmavík and mo...

We are a cultural and arts community that is working towards being self-sustained. The community is situated in the mountains of Monchique, Portugal surrounded by nature. Our community provides an alternative way of living with permaculture gardens, farm animals, sustainability projects, and arts and cultural workshops. It is a great place to come to meet other like-minded people if you are passionate about sustainability and alternative living. We hold community meetings throughout the week alongside activities and workshops, such as quiz nights, dance nights and yoga classes. Hola todas! My place is an old grain mill with half a hectare of land. I live here for more than 17 years and hosted many volunteers. Work is mostly in the garden. Weeding, digging, planting, watering, harvesting and off course eating. There is a big cat family living on the land. Help in the kitchen is welcome. Special dietary requirements must be met by the helpers. In the area there are many activities possible. More yoga teachers than there are yoga students. Meditations, dancing, healing, massage, channeling, singing,....! Many communities of all sorts (hippy, midwives, subud, soefie). Hiking in all directions. Even skiing starting beginning of December. I try to keep a healthy environment, so no drugs that cloud your spirit. No dogs either. People mostly stay between one and two weeks. Work is about 5 days a week, 4 hours a day. Food and lodging included. Flexible. Work depends on peoples abilities. During summer months (June until September) I don't host because of high te...

The shuttle bus from the train station in Maryborough west (20 min out of town) is free of charge if it is pre-booked. As international travelers you qualify for a concession card on Queensland tra...

Projects currently in the works are - - food prep once a week & freezing ready to eat meals - learning to make cream...

We currently have availability from now, with short breaks from 17th to 22nd June and from 4th to 19th July.

This is a unique opportunity to live in a museum! I am the curator and caretaker of an historic homestead built between 1862-1880, located within extensive gardens. However, I do have a bicycle available, and I take helpers into Geraldton at Least once a week, and to community events, as well as showing you local attractions.
