We usually start cleaning the field in September, we have to get rid of all stingy plants and twigs on the ground in order to put the nets later on without any damage. We are planning to start collecting the olives by middle of October, depending on the weather conditions, and continue in several turns till November. Once the harvest season is over, we have to cut the branches and put the smaller ones into the woodchipper, spread organic fertiliser, and repair some terraces. Hello, my name is Florent, I'm 45 years old, I was a chef for about twenty years, and since 2017 I've been a spirulina producer. Spirulina is a microalga that's very rich in nutrients. It's a very environmentally friendly crop, requiring little energy and no pesticides. Spirulina needs sun and warmth to grow. The harvest season in our region runs from April to October, and it's during this period that I'm interested in hosting someone (I don't need two people at the same time, one is enough). Normally, I already have people helping me until the end of august, so I'm looking for someone from beginning of september. We live close to the fjord and have an accounting firm and a software company that we live off of + some rental of beds in the summer. We are a young couple Davide and Bianca with a 12 year old baby Viridiana and a 7 years old boy Vittorio, some cats, a big dog Nina, chickens and a lot of wild animals around, we have started a new project in a remote part of southern Tuscany; In which our objectives are to live in harmony with nature and to be self sufficent with zero impact on the environment, we are at the beginning, now we need help with clearing, preparation of the land and soil for permaculture, wood constructions, wood cutting and for the olive harvest at the end of october. you could stay in either a caravan or a tent, or a cabin in the wood with compost toilet and solar heated shower,in autumn and winter you can stay in a just renovated stone house with bathroom, on the land where we live in a small house with all we need.We are looking for people who would like to share this life experience with us, with a good glass of wine and very good meal togheter. !

We have recently returned from a 5 week trip to Canada and are looking forward to getting back to work. David will be available to help, instruct & supervise. Our upcycling DIY collective are looking for a couple to stay from 23/24 Aug ideally for 2 weeks or more. Learn DIY and sustainable living skills at our sustainable makerspace. You will stay in a unique upcycled tiny home which has awesome rural views on a 5 acre section. It also has a compost loo and solar shower. It’s a real hit with our guests.
