Update, possible accommodation available for kiwifruit staff. My caravan is available, not fancy but clean & waterproof. I'm a beekeeper in need of assistance, either with the bees directly or not. I'm located 16km South of Te Puke on a property that has a back boundary of native forest. I'm usually able to host people at any time of year, but am busiest in the spring. I currently have building projects happening, as well as lots of painting, waxing new bee frames, and also hands on beekeeping for anyone who is keen. I also keep sheep and cattle on the property here, and hunt deer and pigs in the forest. These grass and forest fed animals form a large part of the menu here, so vegetarians probably won`t be happy with the diet. I cater to lots of herbivores and they all have hooves or paws. If you have your own van/ self contained vehicle, there is a great spot to park up at the bike park camp ground. We need help during the season (October to April) to keep the grounds maintained and tidy. There's a pump track and jumps, so if you're travelling with your bike and enjoy sessioning jumps then this is ideal for you!! We're working on improving our camping facilities this season, so if you have skills building, landscaping, plumbing, or setting up solar panels then there is the opportunity for some paid work also. Hello, my partner John & I, have had a wonderful time sharing our home with volunteers. We now have a vacancy from November 1st for 3 weeks, until 22nd. short or longer stays are welcome. What we do: We take care of animals, we grow organic food, we prepare and eat tasty vegan meals, we minimize our impact on the earth, and we enjoy the company of our Costa Rican friends and neighbors. We have run a volunteer program for over 18 years, and have had several hundred people come to work with us! Our farm is primarily an animal rescue, rehab and sanctuary. Our doors are open to animals in need. We currently have five rescue dogs, five goats, a pig, a horse, one cat, and two water buffalos. We run a beef cattle stud of about 400 Herefords 50km south of Fox Glacier. A lot of stock work is done on horseback. Close to the sea, mountains, river and lakes. Good fishing and hunting at the back door. Help around the house and garden is always appreciated, as well as help with all other general farm tasks. I would like to point out that this is farm producing livestock primarily for meat. We are also a largely carnivorous household.
