We grow our own veg without chemicals and try to live a low-impact lifestyle by recycling and reusing second-hand materials, practicing wildlife friendly gardening, with lots of learning on the job. Our 5 acre Lifestyle block is situated in SouthWest Hamilton, within easy reach of Hamilton Gardens, the centre of town and Hamilton Airport ( all about 10 minutes away). Raglan and Sanctuary Mountain take about 45 minutes and Hobbiton and Waitomo caves are under one hour. You can also drive to Rotorua and Tauranga in under an hour and a half. Your accommodation is a self- contained unit with kitchenette, bathroom, queen bed, wifi and TV. We can also put a mattress on the floor. Your own car is a good idea however there is a bus stop at the end of the driveway to get into town. We also don’t mind you using our swimming pool during the summer. For free accommodation and wifi we need some help each day which might include weeding, sweeping, hedge trimming, cleaning, house sorting , house renovation//building/painting and grass cutting depending on your experience! Hi there travellers! I'm looking for someone to do some weeding, other gardening and other mostly outside work. There's a couple of leaks in my irrigation I have yet to find. I've always got inside work to do as well, mostly cleaning. So on these cold winter days, we can be busy inside. There's always lots to do. If you are a couple, or two couples even - you are welcome to buy and cook your own food and set your own pace around exploring/helping out in the garden. If you are travelling alone and prefer company you will be welcome to eat with us, and I am happy to set an extra place at the table. It will be expected that you spend more time hanging out with me in my garden! We are a little unconventional community of 4 persons (66,65,71,74), 1 friendly dog and 2 playful cats and we live in a cosy house surrounded by a garden. Our children are on their own, but they sometimes visit us. We raise our own organic vegetables in several raised beds and normal garden beds. There is always something to do in the garden and around the house or walking the dog, cleaning windows and so on... We live in a small rural village in the beautiful hills of the "Odenwald".
