Hi, I’m Jo. I can potentially come down to Thames to pick you up from the Intercity bus if you don't have a car. I live in beautiful Coromandel town where I’ve created a small urban food forest based on permaculture principles. It’s a constantly evolving space full of fruit trees, edible plants and wildlife, and I enjoy sharing it with people who are interested in gardening, nature and simple living. I’m looking for 1 or possibly 2 to stay for a few days at a time (usually 3–5 days) and lend a hand with a mix of garden and household tasks. This might include food forest maintenance, light gardening, helping keep the space tidy, window cleaning or general housework. Nothing too heavy — just practical help to keep things running smoothly. You’ll be staying in my small, relaxed home and will have your own bedroom with a king single bed ( or if 2 come I will swap rooms and you would have a queen size bed). We share the bathroom and living areas. My home is right in Coromandel town, wi...

We are a fit and active couple in our 70s who have recently bought a home (2021) right by the water on Lamb Island in Moreton Bay, 30km from Brisbane. It has great views over the bay and has good access to fishing, crabbing, safe swimming and boating. There is a fast and regular ferry to the mainland that takes 20 minutes. There are also several other islands nearby that can be explored including North Stradbroke Island that has wonderful beaches and walks and lots of wildlife including koalas, kangaroos, turtles and dolphin and - from June to October - humpback whales. Over the next two years we will renovate and paint the home, install new kitchen and two bathrooms. Graham has some woodworking skill but needs help during that time with various tasks and we are willing to give you a comfortable bed, good food and company and access to bathroom and washing machine in exchange for 4 hours help per day, 5 days per week. Our preference is for a single person or couple who have some skil...

Hi you young and beautiful travelers, Bundaberg is a less known touristic town, with a mild climate, beautiful beaches and wonderful surroundings. It is also an agricultural country town with many backpackers hostels . With a bit of lack there might be opportunities for paid work on a farm. It’s only 350km north of Brisbane and easily reachable by train. My home is only a few minutes drive from the town center, yet secluded and peaceful, sitting on 2.5 acres. I am looking for people who would like to visit this promising coastal town and help with general house and backyard maintenance, around 4 -5 hours a day, 6 days a week. The person helping me will have a home away from home and a cosy room to rest in. I am hoping he/she will treat the place with respect and consideration, observing the few requirements related to the use of bathroom and kitchen. Otherwise, regretfully, we will have to part ways sooner then expected. A good home cooked meal and an occasional glass of wine is...

We have an automotive country workshop where we fix and service cars, 4WDs, trailers, tractors and all sorts of machinery. In our spare time we look after our little farm, some sheep, some cattle and rabbits. We also have a forest where we work and tidy up occasionally. So we are always in need of a couple of helpful hands to support us. We love to get to know different cultures and people. We grow our own meat, fruit and vegetables. Gustav also brews his own beer and makes wine and cider and lately also green tea. A mature, non-smoking, self-organized person, preferable not a vegetarian, to give us a hand with house and land, would fit best into our lifestyle. You will have to join into our daily routines: breakfast is at around 7am and then we feed all the animals, especially the hungry dogs and work starts at 8am. We need to get everyone organized before customers arrive in the workshop. We expect about 4 hours work per day and we offer a nice room with a lovely warm bed, gr...

Spring March 15th, 2026 Wow, exploring right outside our backdoor along side the Campbell River on Vancouver Island, is a beautiful place to experience Vancouver Island`s great outdoors this winter with all the wild life right in our back yard :) Although we live on a one acre town lot, our back yard is situated on a cliff over looking an accessible beautiful heritage river, with a nature park setting of ferns, Douglas fir, maple and alder trees. You can often see deer, raccoons, bears and the silver backs of salmon and Steelhead fish jumping in the ebb and flow of the river’s pools. We have trail access to the river below, where you can enjoy listening to the sing song of many birds, tubing down the river/swimming in the heat of the summer, and trying your hand at casting for Steelhead fish. As well, our neighborhood is the access point to many scenic nature hiking, walking and biking trails. The ocean photo was taken a couple of miles from my home and all other photos are of my hou...

Hi there Traveler We offer a farm stay with great views and good conversation. We chopped down a pine forest and replanted with Manuka about 4 years ago so it’s starting to look really great, and more native birds are about. Established a wetland reserve as well. Also we are developing another small retreat area that needs assistance with tracks and tree management. Some stock work is all so on offer but we will work with you all the time as it’s safer and more fun. cheers and safe travels Geoff and Declan

Large property on Banks Peninsula. Sleep out. Separate shower and toilet. Garden maintenance -4 hours /day for full room and board. Do have WiFi but limited. Am isolated in the country. Local transport to Little River but then I have to pick you up or take you down. I am a single retired Doctor of Chiropractic. Enjoy cooking or learning more about it. Extremely flexible as far as when and what gets done, as long as it does get done. Prefer single man, who enjoys his own company, the countryside and doesn't mind pulling weeds or can use gardening appliances etc. If you have your own transport, then close to city.

After 16 years, and hosting almost 100 HelpXers, at our property in Larnook, in the Northern Rivers region, Steve and I have moved to a new place in Tenterfield, at the northern end of the New England Tableland. All of our reviews up until September 2024, are related to our previous place. We are now ready to accept HelpXers at our new place. Steve and I are a gay couple and we offer a high quality experience (as you can see from our reviews) and so we expect our Helpers to pitch in and help. The more you put into your time here at Tenterfield, the more you will get out of it. We have lots of small work jobs at present including lots of weeding and gardening, mowing, establishing herb and vege gardens, pruning and cutting back and some other work. Our property is situated a few kilometers west of the town of Tenterfield, in a quiet, rural area. Animal Rescue and Sanctuary and Organic Vegan Farm in Central Costa Rica Hello everyone! What we do: We take care of animals, we grow organic food, we prepare and eat tasty vegan meals, we minimize our impact on the earth, and we enjoy the company of our Costa Rican friends and neighbors. We have run a volunteer program for over 18 years, and have had several hundred people come to work with us! Our farm is primarily an animal rescue, rehab and sanctuary. Our doors are open to animals in need. We currently have five rescue dogs, six goats, a pig, a horse, two cats, and two water buffalos. Some came off the streets, some were abandoned, others were injured and no longer wanted. We adopt out what we can, but most are retired and happy to live their lives on the farm. The 3.5 hectare property is covered with many tropical fruit trees, including water apple, mandarin orange, banana (many varieties), guayaba, guanabana, cas, caimito, lime, nance, coffee and araza. Back to nature, back to basics. Stunning location overlooking Akaroa Harbour 5 kms from township above Onuku Marae. That's where I live and farm. The place is off-grid. I am mostly self-sufficient with extensive gardens,.2 tunnel houses and a fruit forest in other words a fruit & veggie 'paradise' The cows give the place a Swiss Alp' atmosphere. Then there are chooks, bunnies and Dante, the cat. Summer projects include hay making by hand, wood chopping, garden maintenance....the list is endless. Accommodation is in a cabin with kitchen facilities overlooking Akaroa Harbour.

PLEASE READ MY WHOLE HOST PROFILE BEFORE YOU APPLY TO VISIT MY PLACE AND ASK ABOUT ANYTHING YOUR NOT CLEAR ON Not much work to do here now, so I mostly only take 1 person at a time. Not the place just to get a free room.for a while, but also not the place if you get bored easily You don't need to have an overwhelming desire to save the world, live off the land, or be more useful than a Swiss army knife, to stay here. A nice honest person is good enough. This is a relaxing place, close to nature, away from the backpacker trail on the coast but still got a bit happening, somewhere to recharge your batteries, do a bit of work, have a laugh and meet some real Aussies, maybe get out of your comfort zone a bit😜 My place is a cattle farm with one skinny, old farmer, one dog, some cattle, lots of birds and wildlife, relaxing place, near Kyogle, a quiet country town, which is 1.5 hours drive west from Byron Bay. Two hours south of Brisbane by train. Very close to the beautiful Border Rang...

I live between a yacht on Sydney Harbour and a house in a tall eucalyptus forest on the mid north coast of NSW, and need some assistance in working on the house and on another yacht. I'm a carpenter who worked with National Parks and Wildlife for 25 years before retiring, and live with a small dog Billy. I've had many helpers come stay over the last few years and have been lucky to have so many interesting travellers stay. My yacht, is currently on the hard at Whoota, where we are renovating her while helping with work on her. I often take helpers out sailing to see the magnificent Sydney Harbour Bridge and Opera House but this is not possible while she is being worked on. Yet, I hope to invite helpers out when she is back in the water. The house is located in Whoota, near Forster. It is surrounded by forest and located a 10 minute drive from pristine beaches, lakes, and bushwalks. There a lots of dolphins to see and beautiful areas to explore. The work we are doing on the house ...

I am looking for people that are passionate about dogs and like to spend time and work with dogs. A pack of 24 huskies is something different than having a pet dog at home. You will be able to join our animal assisted programs with kids and young adults and learn about it. I am educated in dog physiotherapy as well and there is the possibility to learn in this field as well. Beside the main topic the huskies we have bee hives and produce our own honey. There is a big garden with fruits and vegetables that needs maintainance. To sum it up our work here is mainly outdoors with nature and animals. Every day is different so its not possible to give you a long term daily structure in advance. There are some everyday tasks in the dogcare but the rest of the work depends on the weather and the season. As we live in a small village the main freetime activities are biking and hiking. More freetime options you find in cities around in your days off. Vienna is quite close and its possible to ta...

Hello, we are a Christian family. Originally from the United States, we are now starting an organic farm and Christian outreach and community center here in Costa Rica. Currently we are in the beginning stages of seeking help. The first volunteer we need is some one who has a good understanding of construction and can do repairs on some of the buildings on the property, laying tile, roof repairs, etc. and maybe some side help with cutting the grass. In exchange for this help, we will provide a place to live. At this time we can only commit to short term opportunities, a couple of weeks, or one to three months. However, we are hoping by God's grace and provision to one day be able to build small places for people to stay. However, our main goal is not to build buildings. We want to build the Kingdom of God. Our hearts desire is to reach the lost, so if you feel led to evangelize and share the gospel in Costa Rica, we would also love to hear from you. Even if you cannot help with the ...

Hello travellers! We’ve recently built a wonderfully energy efficient passive solar house, complete with off-grid solar for all our energy needs, rain water collection for all our water needs, and a worm farm waste management system for natural black and grey water processing. We’ve put a lot of work in to achieve a fossil-fuel-free, all-electric, household, with as small an environmental footprint as possible. We’re also lucky to live in a beautiful rural/coastal area near Inverloch, Victoria, approximately 1 hour 45 minutes south-east of Melbourne. We are close to some of Victoria’s most famous wildlife and wilderness attractions, including the Penguin Parade at Phillip Island, the Koala Conservation Reserve, and hiking and camping at Wilson’s Promontory (not to mention numerous local beaches and fishing spots only 10 minutes away!). With our house complete, we’re now working to progress the landscaping aspects of our project. We’d be very appreciative of a helping hand or two to ...

We enjoy meeting people from all cultures and walks of life. Our organic garden provides delicious fruit and veggies most of the year.

We usually expect around 4 hours per day of work in exchange for all meals, your own room, access to internet (for checking emails, looki...

My name is Bruce, and I’m looking for a reliable, friendly person to assist me with everyday life while also forming a meaningful connection. Depending on the se...
