We live in a river valley just outside Palmerston North, in the Manawatu area, and we are about 15km from town. We have a large family home on a small 'lifestyle' farm with sheep, cows, horses, chickens, ducks, dogs, & cat. There is a lovely swimming hole in the river just below the house, and we make our own power. We are off-grid. Our extended family & friends live near by. There are almost always farming, fencing, building, home made power, gardening, weeding & tree planting activities to be done. We are also currently finishing painting our house. We love talking to you and trying your cooking, and Sue loves to paint & draw & make music with you - Ralph goes for morning walks & we also enjoy playing games & have some great movies:-)

🌿 Hey there, backpackers! 😊 I often host travellers passing through Auckland and I’m happy to offer free accommodation in exchange for a bit of help around the house or garden. There’s a fully furnished room available in Browns Bay, suitable for one or two backpackers. The room has a double wardrobe, a comfy work chair, and a height-adjustable desk. The house has beautiful beach views, a relaxing garden, and a calm, homely vibe — perfect for unwinding after your travels. It’s a great location too: close to the beach, shops, and cafés, with public transport nearby. I work full-time in tech and live here as well. The house is friendly and respectful — we value privacy and quiet time, but happy to share travel stories or have a chill evening together now and then 😊 If you’re looking for a safe, comfortable place to stay while exploring Auckland (or planning the rest of your NZ trip), feel free to message me. Happy to help fellow travellers anytime! 📸 I can share photos of the ho...

Gardening, housework, light mechanical, a bit of hunting, all sorts of things, never boring.A wicked sense of humor is a good asset to bring. handy to Routeburn and Greenstone tracks. You will need your own internet connection as I don't supply wifi. A bit isolated, not for the precious, no trophy hunters!! Please don't apply unless you intend to come for a minimum stay of two weeks. One person only. We do not get involved with internships or visa applications. Vegetarians and vegans would probably not be comfortable as we eat meat daily. I am off grid and totally dependent on solar, so you have to charge your devices during the day and definitely no hairdryers! Accommodation is a house bus in warmer weather or a room in the house in winter, not shared usually. Lastly I also play the guitar (badly) and sing (worse) but it's all about smile not style :-) Cheers Al

After an intense house renovation, we are now entering the final phase, focusing on cleaning and refreshing the house. From APRIL (for about one month), we are looking for help with PAINTING work inside and outside, as well as some light gardening tasks such as weeding. This period is ideal for someone who enjoys practical, hands-on work and likes to see visible results at the end of the day. From JUNE onwards, as the weather becomes warmer, the help will mainly consist of daily HOUSEKEEPING tasks (cleaning, ironing), with occasionally some light gardening. We’ve found that this experience works best for people who enjoy staying active and contributing in a practical way to daily life. We truly appreciate volunteers who bring positive energy, a hands-on mindset, and a genuine willingness to help. We are a Belgian family who has been living in France for over 20 years. In our late fifties, we speak French, Dutch, English, and a bit of Spanish. Our home is located in the beautiful r...

I can't see the world, but the world can come see me. First and foremost, I want to thank all the helpers who came from United Kingdom-England, France, Belgium, Italy, China, Japan, Australia and New Zealand. Welcome Helpers. We are a family of 5 living in the Appalachian Mountains of West Virginia. Sue is the founder of Peaceful Hollow. Her daughter Ruth moved to the Hollow later as well as her husband Tim and their 2 daughters. Our hollow is quite with no neighbors in sight. There are no city lights, and you can see every star on a clear night! Our homestead consists of Sue's workshop/cabin, Tim & Ruth's cabin and one very small guest cabin. Also, there is a private guestroom with private entrance on the second floor above the workshop/cabin combination. . We have a lot you can be involved in, knowledge to share, friendships to build, and opportunities for growth. Below are our routines and some projects. We would love to involve you! - Caring for our honey bees, chickens,...

We have availability to help Marcus with his native tree propagation onsite for one week from 15-22nd June and 14-21st August. Looking for those who appreciate 4hrs of daily work alongside us as a fair exchange for wholesome meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner provided + seasonal fruit), your own private space, satellite Wi-fi and access to beautiful, private, natural surroundings with lots of native wildlife like wallabies and pademelons. In your free time, volunteers can go swimming, enjoy many of the hikes on and around our property (plus we adjoin 8,000ha/20,000ac of National Park) and meet/spend time with our animals, read , meditate, do yoga/fitness, satellite wifi, bird watching, platypus watching...etc. We have a lot of info on our page, mainly so we get the right people applying to volunteer here. The work is usually physical (ie no cute animal feeding - that`s in your free time if you express an interest to Claire), but we offer a very fair exchange for those motivated to...

We are Rani & Stefan and we live on a houseboat in Berlin. Despite its central location, it’s wonderfully idyllic here, with a real village feel, offering a relaxing contrast to the big city just around the corner :-) Our “Frieda” is moored in a former shipyard. The houseboat was created as a joint building project with family, friends and like-minded people. We are now embarking on the final stage in the last week of May. There is plenty of scope and space for a group of motivated and hard-working helpers. We are looking for people with DIY skills (exterior cladding, interior flooring, clay plaster, painting and wallpapering, and especially woodwork) to actively support us with our further ideas. We also want to give the bathrooms a very individual finish. We’ll be teaching special North African plastering techniques (tadelakt) and creating mosaic sections using natural materials, such as shells. A hand-modelled earthenware bath will complete the oasis. What’s more, there’s always s...

Enjoy the privacy of a self contained Cabin with unlimited WIFI and TV on a separate driveway set on a dry stock (beef) farm less than one hour from Auckland city. By car it less than one hour North of Auckland’s Harbour Bridge. And if you have your own transport the East Coast beaches are nearby. Over 25 years, there has been extensive landscaping and we are able to grow many subtropicals. With mild winters, there is always plenty of garden maintenance to do. Currently, we are refreshing gardens at the entrance and around the Farmhouse driveway and some outdoor painting. If gardening and being outdoor appeals, please get in touch. All food is provided and in return we ask for five-six hours during the week. You will need to be physically fit and strong (using a wheelbarrow for mulch and using a weedeater etc). The Cabin can comfortably accommodate up to two singles on a twin share basis.

We are a fit and active couple in our 70s who have recently bought a home (2021) right by the water on Lamb Island in Moreton Bay, 30km from Brisbane. It has great views over the bay and has good access to fishing, crabbing, safe swimming and boating. There is a fast and regular ferry to the mainland that takes 20 minutes. There are also several other islands nearby that can be explored including North Stradbroke Island that has wonderful beaches and walks and lots of wildlife including koalas, kangaroos, turtles and dolphin and - from June to October - humpback whales. Over the next two years we will renovate and paint the home, install new kitchen and two bathrooms. Graham has some woodworking skill but needs help during that time with various tasks and we are willing to give you a comfortable bed, good food and company and access to bathroom and washing machine in exchange for 4 hours help per day, 5 days per week. Our preference is for a single person or couple who have some skil...

I am a retired man from Germany 71 years old, living with my 2 dogs on lovely Orange Garden, West Coast of Peloponese. Most of the work will involve gardening, like planting, pruning, harvesting oranges and olives. Other work includes tidying up the place, general household chores, painting building and maintenance of the 8 bungalows I rent to tourists. I ask for 4-5 hours a day, 1 or 2 days free for your own. Low season helpers can use a bungalow for accommodation. You might cater for yourself or join me for meals. WiFi internet is available. Ideally volunteers would be over 25 years, have some knowledge of general maintenance and gardening. The bus stop is 500m from home, the 70km beach of Kyparissia Kolpos is about 2,5km. See my homepage. I am fluent in German, English and Greek. I am looking forward to your visit.

We are a family of four originally from the states, but now living in Nelson. We’ve been here for about 6 years now. Our kiddos are 16 and 13. We have a little beagle, four chickens, and a little country-like home only 15 minutes walking distance to central Nelson. We love all things outdoors, including biking, swimming, boating, fishing, tramping, and loads of sports. Happy to include new friends in our hobbies. We all enjoy meeting new people and sharing our love of connection while showing off the beautiful little region we call home. Our little property is snuggled up in the Maitai valley, with swimming holes just a few minutes walk away. Lots of walking tracks all around. The center of town is about a 15-20 minute walk. Most everything is in walking distance or you can catch the bus in town. We love to cook healthy, delicious meals. We could use help with gardening, weeding out sections, building projects we have going on to improve our sheds, and outdoor house maintenance. In e...

Hi everyone! We have a beautiful property a short walk/drive away from a gorgeous New Zealand beach. We live 45 minutes from Hamilton and 20-25 minutes from Raglan. Our area is very remote - we have some neighbours but there are no shops here or public transport, just farmland. So if you enjoy being away from cities and people then this is the place for you! Our property suits people who enjoy the outdoors and surfing, hiking, walking, animals, solitude. There is a beautiful mountain right by our house for hiking, great surfing and fishing in the area, and Raglan (a little over 20 minutes away) which is a vibrant and energetic little beach town with world famous surf. This exchange is for accommodation only. We have a cabin with a big bed and beautiful views of the farmland and mountain and sea. There is a kitchenette for you to keep and cook your own food. The bathroom is about 20 metres away from the cabin and it is a composting toilet with shower that does the job but is gravity-f...

Hello! Welcome to our Farm!! Our farm sits on a beautiful piece of land with a variety of very sweet animals, we know we are so lucky to have what we have and decided to share our treasures with everyone. Our goal is to make a difference to the earth we live on, the people we interact with and the animals we share this planet with. We open our farm to the public in the summer to share our beautiful property and all our animals. We have a variety of tasks around the farm from daily animal care to building projects and everything in between, there will always be something that suits your talents! And if you think you have none (talents) don’t worry, we will dig them out of you! We want you to come to our farm as guests wanting to help with our cause of creating a place that helps people reconnect with animals and nature. Our belief is that one small act of kindness is one step closer to creating a happier planet :-) Shane:) We are looking for help with: - Daily chores which includes fe...

Kia ora, travellers! Haere mai - welcome to my whare (home) in beautiful Honeymoon Valley, surrounded by native rainforest, birds and insects. We built this eco-earth house using local clay from right under our feet. This land used to be just grass, but after 30 years of caring for this whenua, it now has mature trees, orchards, and organic gardens. Life here is peaceful and quiet, perfect for enjoying nature I am part of the local landcare group, helping protect our native forest, birds, lizards, and insects. We trap predators and remove invasive weeds. You could help with organic/permaculture gardening: vegetables, flowers, herbs, fruit trees, chickens, mowing, brush-cutting, compost-making, maintenance and fixing things (basic carpentry, painting), sewing, cleaning, chopping firewood. I bake bread. I make apple cider vinegar, bottle fruit, jam, chutney, sauerkraut, and collect seeds. My place fits independent and mature helpers who love working outside and don't mind getting thei...

Now until 18th June 2026 is available for HelpX so might suit those already in Ireland or a short flight away. Suit couple or two friends or solo travellers. Minimum 3 days stay. My name is Ruairi and I’m an Irishman restoring a 15th century castle. It had been vacant for 10 years and needs some renovation. It's located in County Galway in the West of Ireland and surrounded by farmland. It has always been my dream to live in a castle and I am very interested in historical research. I have lived and travelled all around the world and am happy to show visitors around the area. The pubs in this part of the world are famous for traditional live music. The building is on a small plot of land and is a small tower house three stories high. The accomodation is basic and there is limited food preparation facilities at the moment. All electrics and plumbing are working. Bedrooms have central heating radiators. The castle was fully restored in the 1980's but has been vacant for 10 years and so...

We are looking for helpers from right now and have space for two people. We have three small cabins, two with double beds and one with a single bed so room for up to five helpers normally but only room for two at the moment as we still have international surf coaches staying. All the helpers share a kitchen and bathroom. From now end of June we need help with some building work so preference will be given to people who already have some skills with tools.. We are a great place to start or end your time in New Zealand as we are only 45 minutes drive from Auckland airport. The work will be varied and interesting but usually building and garden based. It could include finishing off an underground earth bag hobbit hole. We have a passion for earth building and organic gardening. Its good if you are over the age of 20, are self motivated and can work unsupervised. We are located on Auckland's beautiful West Coast only 40mins drive from Auckland central city. We operate Muriwai surf sch...

🏔️ Help Wanted: Alpine Farm Restoration & Lambing Season! Location: Lower Austria (Rax Mountain/Schneeberg area) Vibe: International, hard-working, family-oriented, and authentic. For us, the exchange is a two-way street. We want to learn from our guests as much as they learn from us, creating memories through shared meals and conversations. We are a pretty colourful bunch of nice people composed of an austrian and a middle east family and long standing international friends. Actually living here permanently: Feri (1982), Lise (1975) and the children Layla (2013) and Aisha (2015) and other family members are coming regularly to see us to enjoy the time together and preparing a mix of delicious oriental-european-food! Same as a lot of different visitors (friends, helpers, family) from all over the world are enjoying this place of meeting and exchange. Urgent help needed, especially for May and early June Handy volunteers needed at my ecotourism guesthouse and harbour property in north Norway. I am looking for immidiate spring time help ( May- June) to prepare indoors and outdoors for the summer season starting in June. Maybe you are already somewhere near and can come in short notice? Or have time off right now for a new adventure? Some examples: This spring I have walls to paint, a garden to rescue, smaller building projects, wooden boats to prepare for outing, new rooms to make ready for guests and old rooms to reorganize and make the best we can. Some help now in April, May, June would be just wonderful - also for shorter periods. My guesthouse has the sweetest rooms and a nice summer café. Here is a big quay, historical buildings, and heritage boats. We have the best view, right at the ocean edge, with panorama of the more famous Lofoten isles. To have volunteers staying here over the years, has been enjoyable experien...

Come and get a real taste of Nu Zelan! Home brew, home made breads and fresh fish.. Bush crash up the stream, swim at the beach across the road, come fishing with me on the kayaks. Take the bikes, pedal 2km to Waiomu; then tramp/jog to some beautiful Kauri (1/2 to 3/4hr). Do an overnighter at The Pinnacles Hut up the Kauranga Valley if yr into vast iconic views and like tramping (you need to book). If you have wheels you can do great day trips around the Peninsula. And if yr more chill, Thames has some great op-shops. Debs & I are happy boomers on the endless holiday ! Loving every second left. However, we seriously need help with the massive task of @296: gardens to create & jungle to clear ! We are keen to host people who want to help, who are comfortable speaking English (or trying) and value simple routines and shared respect. When Debs & I started hosting in 2025 we moved to the sleepout making it possible to host helpers hopefully from different cultures in the house. T...

Our project has been underway for over a decade and through the process we have had the opportunity to present a transformative experience for individuals who want to work on not only bringing the building and environment to a higher place, but to also bring themselves to a higher place. We provide and encourage all who come to volunteer to participate in meditation groups and seminars, yoga practices, healthy eating options (all of the food here is provided for you!), and make strong and lasting relationships with everyone who lives here!

Greetings! Spirit Canoe Lodge is a 501c3 non-profit. We support the journey of the Human Spirit, building community, and healing our relationship with the Natural World. We are located on 70 acres of forested land in the NW corner of North Carolina in the Blue Ridge Mountains. The lodge is an AirBnB host with 12 beds and 6 private rooms similar to a hostel. The High Country is a tourist destination near the Appalachian Trail, Blue Ridge Parkway, canoeing, and incredible hiking opportunities. West Jefferson is a 20 minute drive for grocery shopping and is a unique quaint small town. Boone (50 minute drive)a wonderful college town voted one of the top 10 place to live in the US, has great entertainment and shopping. Having your own vehicle is best because there is very limited public transportation in this rural area. Work trade for lodging: 15-20 hours week, food stipend possible if things are going well.

The Mission: We are living the dream on a 150-year-old estate in a stunning water protection area, but to be honest—last year was a...
