We are a fit and active couple in our 70s who have recently bought a home (2021) right by the water on Lamb Island in Moreton Bay, 30km from Brisbane. It has great views over the bay and has good access to fishing, crabbing, safe swimming and boating. There is a fast and regular ferry to the mainland that takes 20 minutes. There are also several other islands nearby that can be explored including North Stradbroke Island that has wonderful beaches and walks and lots of wildlife including koalas, kangaroos, turtles and dolphin and - from June to October - humpback whales. And we always take our HelpX guests for a sail in our sailboat, Over the next two years we will renovate and paint the home, install new kitchen and two bathrooms. Graham has some woodworking skill but needs help during that time with various tasks and we are willing to give you a comfortable bed, good food and company and access to bathroom and washing machine in exchange for 4 hours help per day, 5 days per week. ** Can you craft a rough bench or table from logs and branches? If you have those skills please do come and help us! ** Hi, we are Jane and Dave We live in a small village in rural Lincolnshire in the English East Midlands, where we keep bees, chickens and a lovely cat, and grow fruit and vegetables in our large garden. We have lots of projects on the go, but e we really want to find someone to help with is making some rustic benches and tables from logs, for our garden. Have a look at the picture of the wood that we have waiting to be cut for firewood. Some of that can be turned into lovely, quirky, interesting furniture by someone with the imagination and the skills to do it. Is that you? Other than that, we won't be taking helpers again until next spring because there isn't the work to do in the garden until then. So if you are travelling next year and want to get in touch to arrange a stay for next year, we'd love to hear from you. We’ve travelled a lot ourselves, so it’...

Hello from North Norway My name is Lone and I hope to find good helpers and companions for my wonderful place in North Norway - at the archipelago of Vesterålen & Lofoten. I live in an old harbour - with old houses and lots of history and traditions. I am the grand daughter of the previous owner, trying to maintain the buildings and care for the place. I have made it into a small guesthouse with the sweetest rooms, a nice summer restaurant and sometimes a bar with music. I am running the place alone, so help is really appreciated and welcome. Just now (autumn 2023) I am preparing for new rooms, so alot of creative work is on the desk 😊. I am building new rooms within the old. I have had a team of local builders for the first phase, but I really need help of volunteers and friends now to finish this. So if you find this interesting, see things you can help with, have usefull skills - carpenter skills in particular (and a dream about northern lights), then I hope to hear from you so...

Hello helpers, **** Spring is here early so we're keen for helpers to prepare the garden for summer. Couples preferred.**** It's our sixth year of hosting and has been great fun. We've enjoyed meeting so many new people from around the world. Looking forward to meeting more, helping them explore the area and at the same time, sorting out our garden and helping out around the house. We are located in the countryside near Arrowtown among beautiful NZ scenery with views of the Whakatipu basin. Our home is situated on a one hectare plot. By car, we are 5 mins to Arrowtown, 10 mins to Queenstown Airport and 20 mins to Queenstown. All pictures are from and in our home. Originally from the UK, we lived in Australia for 12 years and settled in NZ almost a decade ago. We are looking for a couple to help us mainly with gardening, but also potentially with DIY maintenance, basic landscaping and painting. We would also expect you to help around the house with the usual day to day tasks du...

After selling our farm we have moved to a beautiful 40 acre block on the boundary of Mount Aspiring National Park. Makarora is a small settlement, 60km north of Wanaka, on the way to Haast and the West Coast. Helper tasks include help maintaining the surrounding native bush, care of the chooks, ducks, dogs and house cows. I need a Helper to be motivated, willing to take a turn with the cooking and other household chores. There is a perfect opportunity for a Helper to look after things when I am away for a few days every now and then. Own vehicle a definite advantage. Stunning mountain and bush scenery, plenty of places to explore, including nearby Lakes Hawea and Wanaka. Blue Pools only 8km away.

Français plus bas. We are a small Buddhist community living in the forest close to Sainte-Julienne, Quebec. We have an organic fruit tree nursery, along with many other projects on our land: several fruit orchards, chickens and bees, growing our own vegetables and herbs and trying to be independent in many ways. We are presently nine permanent people in this little community: Ajan, Eric, Veronique, Elisabeth, Natalie, and Camille. The community and the place has grown by itself, starting twenty years ago as Eric`s gift to the monk who taught him meditation. He bought a small tract of land in the forest where at the time there was nothing at all, and has been working ever since then to make this place beautiful and self-reliant, at first with no money, and using mostly recuperated materials. Each of us have arrived here one by one, at first just interested in helping out in the place, and then as we found that this lifestyle was for us, deciding to stay for longer. The fruit tree n...

Re- listing after a few years hiatus from Help-X. Our place is on the NSW south coast about 4 hrs from Sydney and 2.5 hrs from Canberra by car. We are close to beaches and state forest. We are a small, family run mixed farm enterprise which focuses upon producing fresh, good quality and healthy food for sale at a weekly market and to cafe/restaurants/grocers We also offer training for people looking to get into small farming. See our website for more details about our farm. Help-Xers are usually involved with our vegetable growing operation. We have had a run of bad seasons with drought, fires, hailstorms and flooding and so we are a little behind in pruning and weeding the edges which we'd like to spend an hour or 2 on each day Minimum stay would be one week but we prefer 2 weeks. Accommodation and meals for 6 hrs work which is usually an early start and a lunch time finish leaving you free in the afternoons to explore the area or hang out and walk in the bush or swim in the dams. ...

Nestled in the coastal range of Mendocino County, California (about 45 minutes west of Ukiah) we are establishing a small farm and wildlife sanctuary. Based on principles of sustainability & permaculture our expanding ridge top garden and orchards consist of a variety of fruits, veggies, herbs and flowers. Aside from garden and orchard tasks additional projects may include gathering seaweed and other native wild foods, cooking, canning, fermenting foods, making herbal preparations, habitat restoration, brush and trail clearing, small scale green building and learning how to build and maintain an off-grid infrastructure and solar system. Our homestead is remote. We are currently looking for physically fit self-starters who are open minded, love to be outdoors, want to unplug and would enjoy the serenity of a mountain forest. We require a 1 month minimum stay. If you have ever thought you might like to homestead or purchase raw land then our farm would be a good place to visit. We...

Helpers who send bulk requests will not be considered .All welcome at my place, but please do not apply to come here unless you definitely want to come. From now on, anyone who arranges to come here and decides to go somewhere else at the last minute, will be given an adverse review. This is a relaxing place, close to nature, away from the backpacker trail on the coast but still got a bit happening, somewhere to recharge your batteries, do a bit of work, have a laugh and meet some real Aussies My place is a cattle farm with one farmer, 100 angus cattle, one dog,, lots of birds and wildlife, relaxing place, near KYOGLE, a quiet country town which is 1.5 hours drive west from Byron Bay. Two hours south of Brisbane by train. Very close to the beautiful Border Ranges National Park (bike ride away). I like to show people around. There is a mountain on my farm with lots of tracks to walk and a creek to swim in, also I have mountain bikes you can use (plenty of quiet country roads). Ther...

We running an automotive country workshop where we fix and service cars, 4WDs, trailers, tractors and all sorts of machinery. In our spare time we look after our little farm, some sheep, some cattle and rabbits. And we are always in need of a couple of helpful hands to support us. And we love to get to know different cultures and people. We grow our own meat, fruit and vegetables. Gustav also brews his own beer and makes wine and cider. A mature, non-smoking, self-organized person, preferable not a vegetarian, to give us a hand with house and land, would fit best into our lifestyle. You will have to join into our daily routines: breakfast is at around 7.30 am and then we feed all the animals, especially the hungry dog and work starts at 8.30am. We need to get everyone organized before customers arrive in the workshop. We expect about 4 hours work per day and we offer a nice room with a lovely warm bed, great meals, and a reasonable amount of WiFi, which is a quite limited due to ...

Animal Rescue and Sanctuary and Organic Vegan Farm in Central Costa Rica Hello everyone! What we do: We take care of animals, we grow organic food, we prepare and eat tasty vegan meals, we minimize our impact on the earth, and we enjoy the company of our Costa Rican friends and neighbors. We have run a volunteer program for over 16 years, and have had several hundred people come to work with us! Our farm is primarily an animal rescue, rehab and sanctuary. Our doors are open to animals in need. We currently have five rescue dogs, two goats, a pig, a horse, four cats, and two water buffalos. Some came off the streets, some were abandoned, others were injured and no longer wanted. We adopt out what we can, but most are “lifers” on the farm. The property (roughly 3.5 hectares) is covered with many tropical fruit trees, including water apple, mandarin orange, banana (many varieties), guayaba, guanabana, cas, ciamito, lime, coffee and araza. Depending on the season, we also put in pla...

My home stay is part of Mia Mia community housing co-operative where we have a 2 acres of wonderful organic garden, located in beautiful Denmark. Because we are on the south coast we are close to several magnificent beaches, where surfing is available and we have forests of Kari trees and the Bibblumun track for bush walking. There is a lot of natural beauty here and much to see. We grow our veggies and fruit organically an we have a small orchid and 2 chook runs. We love having travellers and those who come always enjoy themselves. My own property is in need of some gardening help and some landscaping. Inside my house I have a comfy room available for one or two people, free Wifi connection and hearty food for breaky or dinner. I make a mean curry! I could use some domestic help inside my home because I'm usually pretty busy.

A large two level beach house just 100m from the surf! I moved from Sydney in early 2020 to leave behind city life and have set up my photography studio and garden area with plans to including a small fruit & veggie garden/pod. I will eventually offer a room on Airbnb over weekends in 2023. I generally only host one person, this is a beach house not a farm, there is generally not enough work for two on a daily basis. I look for up to three hours a day assistance from helpers and offer some basic food supplies but this is "negotiable" as I am happy to take turns to offer a meal on alternative nights. I only look to host a guest for ONE TO TWO WEEKS. I may offer to extend your stay if we have an excellent connection. NOTE: Your time here DOES NOT contribute to an extension of your WHV. In need of some regular help with various basic tasks mainly cleaning of the home, garden maintenance and some painting as well these specific things; 1. design & complete a small vegetable garde...

Nearly everything we do is in support of one thrill: adventures in food. But rural living out here in mid-nowhere means that there are endless other things to be tasked as well: construction, gardening, maintenance of many sorts, enhancing the natural beauty around us. Chances are that if you could describe a pure-fun, physical job, there would be something here I could offer that might satisfy those urges. If you want to work hard, eat marvelous meals and have a fabulous time in the gardens, the workshop and the kitchen, come join us and get a relaxing feel of rural life. Fill time in October is possible for a single but we have otherwise received promises that cover the rest of 2023 but enquiries for next year and beyond are welcome. We do this all year so your dream time could be open. Want to plan away ahead? Couples are encouraged. Everyone coming into our bubble must be vaccinated. We are foodies far from the centres and trying to help create a culture of great food around us:...

Come visit us in the Beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia I am now closed for the season. Please check back in January of 2024 to see my available dates for the new season. I have been full with farm guests since the whole of my 2023 season. What a wonderful productive season - thank you all for helping me to continue to do what I love! All farm stays would include a 1 week trial period. If either of us are not happy with how things are going then your stay can end without any hard feelings. Hopefully the trial period is just a time of introduction and all goes well. Please note - no pets we have 2 dogs, 2 cats, chickens, cattle here already and do not invite farm stay guests with pets, my apologies. You must be fully vaccinated and booster-ed, test negative 2 or 3 days before coming and be willing to take a covid test if you have any symptoms while here. We are a fit and active couple in our 70s who have recently bought a home (2021) right by the water on Lamb Island in Moreton Bay, 30km from Brisbane.

Accommodation and meals for 6 hrs work which is usually an early start and a lunch time finish leaving you free in the afternoons to explore the area or hang out and walk in the bush or swim in the dams. ...

Based on principles of sustainability & permaculture our expanding ridge top garden and orchards consist of a variety of fruits, veggies, herbs and flowers. We running an automotive country workshop where we fix and service cars, 4WDs, trailers, tractors and all sorts of machinery.
