We are Said (36) from the Sahara and Linde (33) from the Netherlands. It is our pleasure to meet you here in Project Bani Hayoune Garden! Said comes from a big Amazigh-Tuareg family. After growing up in the Sahara desert and living many years a nomadic life, his family settled down in a village called Tagounite. Now Said lives next to the small village Beni Hayoun, 4 kilometers outside Tagounite. Here, we are working on recovering 200-year old adobe house. Behind the house there is a large garden which needs a lot of care and work. Our aim is to make the land green again, bring the oasis life back and to grow enough food for us and for the community. Be a volunteer in our ZOO!! Located in the Ecuadorian Amazon Basin we are not only a refuge for orphaned and rescued animals for but we also help to preserve the Amazonian wildlife. By volunteering at our zoo you will have a once in a life time opportunity to work with our various big cats including Jaguars, Ocelots and our Puma family. As well as big cats we also have and offer you the opportunity to work closely with capuchin, spider and woolly monkeys, macaws, peccaries, capybaras and tapirs as well as many more animals. Volunteers are asked to work 5 days and a half per week and between the hours of 8:00-12:00 and 15:00-16:00 just 5 hours a day. The minimum period of time required to volunteer here is two weeks. Emplazado en un espacio donde la magia sucede. Al pie del Cerro Uritorco, rodeado de árboles autóctonos y una fauna que sorprende y maravilla cuando te visita, dándonos su confianza y amistad, como armadillos, zorros, corzuelas, jabalies, perdices, el vuelo del cóndor y los múltiples aves y pájaros, en especial los colibríes y loras que cantan en el día a día.
