Student Accommodation and Digital Music Studio in Oxford. Hi there, I have 2 houses where I provide accommodation for international students - I have 1 or 2 students here for both short and long term lets and often couch-surfers for 1 or 2 nights. Oxford is a great international and multi-cultural study centre and its easy to feel at home in this city. The students and professionals who live with me are normally University students at all levels. They are usually independent and busy with their studies/research - so this is not like a hostel - but they are happy to have a coffee and chat when they are around.
For Helpers, I accept students and workers and international travellers, those who are looking for a change of lifestyle whether just for a few weeks or as part of a longer term adventure in international travel. Here I need a helper to assist me in both houses in basic house-keeping duties, cleaning, some house repairs, gardening, food preparation, etc. In connection with th...

Transforming a summer house into a place for living organically. Now the winter of our discontent is ending, transformed into a glorious spring by this Galician sun; and ....sometimes, the clouds that darkened our home disappear into the deep heart of the flat lands.... So it's time to get to work in the garden and lay cement in some places. Some tasks (not all) can be somewhat boring such as cutting and stacking firewood, removing, digging, collecting vegetable remains,... I appreciate the dexterity in physical and manual works and you need to be fit and able to use your strength efficiently. Hi, I'm looking for creative minds efficient bodies who would like to get involved on an sustainable country house project, with some animals and plenty of work to do. There's a protected little forest surrounding the house with small wild animals, and 6 domestic geese, chickens, dogs and two cats. I need help with many things; work on the greenhouse which I have designed by myself, plant...

(La description en français se trouve plus bas !) We are a small Buddhist community living in the forest close to Sainte-Julienne, Quebec. We have an organic fruit tree nursery, along with many other projects on our land: several fruit orchards, chickens and bees, growing our own vegetables and herbs and trying to be independent in many ways. The six people who are staying are: Ajan, Eric, Veronique, Elisabeth, Natalie and Camille. Each of us have arrived here one by one, at first just interested in helping out in the place, and then as we found that this lifestyle was for us, deciding to stay for longer. For part of the year we also have a couple of employees staying with us. There is also a wonderful dog named Dali. Our organic nursery and garden occupies a land of 9 hectares, surrounded by forest. As well as the main land of the nursery, we have another smaller land where a few of us live. This is, in fact, where the community started to grow from very small beginnings in the ear...

The property: 10 acres with a 40ft waterfall and a lovely creek flowing all season long. We have 4 cabins, 1 off-grid where we reside and 3 others that we rent. We are a trail town for the CDT (Continental Divide Trail) and just about 20-75 minutes from all of the Glacier National Park entrances. We have plenty of hiking and biking right from our property! What we need help with: We are looking for a someone(s) to come help on the property. We can use people with skills in building - we are hoping to build a chicken coop and lean to for sheep/goats. We are planning to build a few cob structures as well. We also are looking for someone who has experience with trail work and landscaping. We have a few spots in mind that ...

We have 2 options Number 1 In Christchurch we like help in our very large and peaceful hillside garden. The work is mainly weeding. We also want firewood chopped and moved, and mulch carried uphill and placed on gardens.. Our campervan also needs cleaning. People who are fit, happy and able to be independent with their spare time day and evenings are most welcome. Please note we are quiet people. We eat dinner around 6pm and don't socialise after 7.30pm or late into the evening as we work during the day. Our kitchen and lounge area are NOT available for use after 7.30pm . Preference will be given to helpers with a genuine interest in learning about NZ dairy farming and animal husbandry. We love sharing what we do and prefer to host helpers with a desire to learn. We run a boutique dairy farm, milking a small herd of much loved cows and selling raw milk to our wonderful customers Starting a new business is hard work and not for the faint-hearted. If you consider yourself up for the challenge of helping us, we'd love to hear from you! We offer a family environment with opportunities for farm work, housework, gardening and cooking. There is a wide variety of work available. Working with the animals of course, weed control, plus fencing work, painting, carpentry, building and lots of different small tasks to complete. If outdoor work doesn't appeal, help in the house with cooking and cleaning is always appreciated, and the large and previously neglected garden also requires a lot of work.

Hello Potential Volunteers My name is Paul and it was my dream to change my lifestyle from being an office worker to becoming an alpaca farmer.... here we are 14 years later with 100 alpacas, each individually cherishes with names and unique personalities, plus an assortment of other animals all needing our love :) I have three children: Liam (21), Dylan (9) and Oscar (6), and our 100-acre farm is home to approx.100 alpacas, plus llamas, peacocks, hens, mini pigs, a cat named Sexy, and our farm dog Malta. This year we are expecting 20 'cria' (baby alpacas) and each one will need our help so they can thrive! We need to ensure they get colostrum (filled with antibodies and vital for good health) – have they fed from their mums within the first 24hrs? Are they then drinking enough milk from their mums every day? Are they gaining weight? The well-being of my animals is the most important thing on the farm. Do they have good food and enough water, and the best possible natural environme...

It is our mission to provide visitors from all over the world with an authentic experience of the unique atmosphere and culture of our home in Canada’s far North. As a well-established tourism company, we are diversifying our impacts and create a more resilient business. Doing this is not only fulfilling our long-term mission of developing a self-sustaining Arctic Eco-Village, but also investigating innovative solutions to major obstacles facing communities in the North: food and housing insecurity, decolonizing our economy, capacity development and cultural revitalization. Sustainable farming is not the only focus we have here, but we are continuously developing ideas and trying new farming methods. We are happy to find people from all over the world who are as motivated as we are to make living in the Arctic more sustainable. Organic methods: In the summer time, when we enjoy 24 hour sunshine, we grow our plants in greenhouses without the use of any chemical/artificial fertilizers....

This is a small lifestyle block on the edges of Gore in Southland. Donna and David are retirees living in a newly built home with a friendly large dog called Sana, an outside cat, three horses and two milking goats. Donna and David have 6 grown up children and now 8 grandchildren. Most of these children are grown up and live in Australia or throughout the South Island. Donna and David have had HelpX before but when they had a different property, Donna is an active outdoorsy person who loves to spend time with her horses and riding in her dressage arena. David has had significant health problems and spends most of his time reading, meditating, watching tv, going to church and walking around the property. Donna is the main carer for David and also looks after the day to day runnings of the home and farm. This is to support her and company for David. Helpers can stay in the tiny home which has a queen size bed, washing machine, small fire, kitchen with a fridge freezer, dining table...

We are in the process of renovating an old house in the Pyrenees. There is only decorating to do such as stripping paint of walls and woodwork, and repainting. There might be the occasional carpentry to do also, nothing too complicated. We need help 5 hours per day, five days per week. Weeding, pruning trees, making paths. We are looking for help from two strong and healthy individuals to assist with a house redecorating project and gardening, trimming trees, path making etc. This requires physical strength and stamina. PLEASE NOTE WELL: we absolutely cannot host anyone with any pre-existing health issues, physical or mental (we are not medically trained to manage such conditions), such as hay fever, any other allergies, sensitivities or intolerances. We live in a small village with some shops and a climbing centre and a river just opposite the house. We have a quite a size garden where we grow vegetables, fruit bushes and trees. *** update may 2026 *** NEW : I moved to the center of France. I am building a new project: one global project with donkeys and a tiny camping. There is a lot of activities to offer on the site: clearing brush, decluttering, gardening, animal care, DIY, construction, art, music lessons, english lessons etc. And I need help to manage a small camping ... Welcome to my little paradise ! I don't eat animals, raw food basically. So, I prefer the helper cook his own meal (I buy your food, of course). You can stay in a tent, near a pond and with the donkeys. There is two sites in my project : the house which is a reception house for activities and with all services etc. and the pond's site which is at 20 mn on foot from the house, with basics services. The shower is outdoor and compost toilet. In spring and summer we stay on in the pond's site (named l'Ermitage). Contact me if you want to participate in the development of a beautiful project in the heart of nature, with animals. There is ...

I'm Thanasis, a 45 years old greek man living in the South of the Peloponnes. I'm a farmer, with oranges trees and some olive trees. I also have a shop, mainly selling coffee that I roast on site. I need help all the year to maintain the big farm (orange and olive harvest, trees pruning, pick-up fallen oranges, and so on..) If you come, you will have your own room (1 for a couple or separate), and access to all the rest of the house (kitchen, bathroom...). I like to share the meal, and provide food if you want to cook. You also can use WI-FI connection. You could enjoy the life between the farm and the city of Skala Lakonia, wich offer a lot of coffee shop, restaurants, and any kind of stores. Minimum stay is 2 weeks, to allow time to learn about life on the farm. I need help for a maximum of 5 hours per day, 5 days per week, depending on the weather. I really like to meet new people and introduce them to Greece history. I practice karaté (three times per week) and would be happy t...

Looking for assistance NOW and from late March through summer 26. We moved north from Vancouver to escape the noise and the craziness and to find a spot to live in beauty. We found one and now are on the edge of nothing but more nothing all 400 km to the Pacific. We are 20 km outside of a small town halfway between nowhere and not much. Sharing that is a pleasure. Nearly everything we do now is in support of one thrill: adventures in food. But rural living out here in mid-nowhere means that there are endless other things to be tasked as well: construction, gardening, maintenance of many sorts, enhancing the natural beauty around us. Chances are that if you could describe a pure-fun, physical job, there would be something here I could offer that might satisfy those urges. If you want to work hard, eat marvelous meals and have a fabulous time in the gardens, the workshop and the kitchen, come join us and get a relaxing feel of rural life. PLUS, for all you thrill seekers/amateurs des s...

I'm looking for enthusiastic volunteers to share some time with me on my peaceful 10-acre organic rainforest hobby farm in Far North Queensland. This is about companionship, sharing everyday life, and enjoying the experience of hobby farm life together. It's just me and my two Australian Terriers, and I'm looking for someone who enjoys good conversation, shared meals, and being part of the day-to-day experience rather than simply working a few hours and then disappearing. I was away from the property for around 18 months, so the farm has become quite overgrown and needs some love and attention to bring it back to the way it used to be. There will be plenty of projects to work on together, including gardening, mulching trees, clearing and tidying areas, organising the shed, and helping bring the property back to life. Some of the tropical fruit trees are now starting to reward the effort, with my jackfruit and rollinia trees producing their first fruit, which is exciting to be pa...

WE ARE LOOKING FOR VOLUNTEERS FROM MID OCTOBER TO NOVEMBER. We are a family of four and have small farm at the coast of the Baltic sea close to Oskarshamn. The farmhouse is more than a hundred years old and is located just a few meters away from a lake, which we can use exclusively for fishing, swimming and anything else. A good work-life-balance is very important for us, and this is also what we have in mind for our helpers. It's not only working here, we also want to show our helpers the laid back Swedish lifestyle here at the Eastern coast. Both sides should feel that they did benefit from your stay at our place. Hein: I was born in the north of Germany, and my profession as a carpenter has a very important role in the realization of our dream life. I’ve always felt at home out in nature, fishing, sailing or mushroom picking,. I like to work in the garden and cultivate home-grown fruits and vegetables. Astrid: I love living in the nature and the freedom here in Sweden. By pr...

Hi Helpxers! We offer a fantastic opportunity to spend time near Glacier National Park, MT! Helpxers needed all year round! The property: 10 acres with a 40ft waterfall and a lovely creek flowing all season long. We have 4 cabins, 1 off-grid where we reside and 3 others that we rent. We are just about 2 miles from town where there is a general store, several restaurants, a bakery, post office, gas station and other shops.

We request non smoking guests. We like people to do 4 hours work a day or negotiate more hours with more time off. Guests have a separate bathroom. We provide food and evening dinner on work days ( so guests to go out for evening dinner on a non work day) and accommodation to reliable helpers and friendly people.Get in touch if our work is within your skill range and if you think we might be a good option for ...

We try to fit the work to each helper's skills and interests, and ...

Deutscher Text weiter unten. Hello, we're the Hagemann family. 5 years ago we took over the house with all the trimmings from our friends of the Lang family and would be happy about new/old helpers. We, that's Christian (59), Christine (54) and our 2 dogs. We also have some horses, goats, chickens, ducks, rabbits and a big garden. We're always looking for someone to do gardening and animal care and feeding Experience is good but not necessary. Skillful craftsmanship is advantageous. The requirement is 25 working hours per week, health insurance and the minimum stay should be 1 week. We are a non-smoking family, but the smokers who go outside are also welcome. In return, we offer an open-minded family, our own small apartment, many leisure activities and a private pool.

By pr...

Hello, my partner John & I, have had a wonderful time sharing our home with volunteers. We now have a vacancy from August 6th, Short or longer stays are welcome. We usually have 2 volunteers staying with us, each with their own bedroom. Volunteers can cover each others time off & share the tasks. We usually take volunteers out to places of interest, on a Saturday. We live as a family & enjoy many things together, with our volunteers, many of whom have become lasting friends. We live in a 4 bed modern dormer bungalow, in a beautiful village, with a shop & bus stop 3 minutes walk from the house. We live with my father, who is 89 years old and has memory loss. My father is calm & relaxed. Nurses come three times a day to look after my father, washing & dressing him, volunteers dont need to do those tasks, My father does like to have volunteers there, to watch television with him, so that he’s not alone & he enjoys helping volunteers improve their English pronunciation. ...
