We are in the process of renovating an old house in the Pyrenees. There is only decorating to do such as stripping paint of walls and woodwork, and repainting. There might be the occasional carpentry to do also, nothing too complicated. We need help 5 hours per day, five days per week. Weeding, pruning trees, making paths. We are looking for help from two strong and healthy individuals to assist with a house redecorating project and gardening, trimming trees, path making etc. This requires physical strength and stamina. Please note, we cannot host anyone with any pre existing health issues, physical or mental (we are not medically trained to manage such conditions). We live in a small village with some shops and a climbing centre and a river just opposite the house. We have a quite a size garden where we grow vegetables, fruit bushes and trees. Here, we have spectacular mountain views on our doorstep, hiking trails through the mountains and forests, cycling paths, and skiing in the...

Chainsaw experience welcome but not a must! With the help of fantastic HelpX people and hard work of my son , we have a nice veggie garden, some fruit trees in our new developed "orchard" area which needs help tidying up and getting blackberries out of there. . We also appreciate help with cooking if that is something you enjoy. Helpers should not mind an 12 year old child and sometimes a flatmate in the house. (Uni student currently not in town) no pets but plenty of birds (Tui, Kereru (NZ Wood Pigeon), Faintail, Silver Eye, etc) in the garden. And 7 free range hens, who lay fresh eggs when they please. helpers sleep in queen bed in a rumpus style room or in private room have either their private bathroom or share this with our flatmate downstairs. expected work 4-5 hours a day plus help with cleaning up after dinner; please provide own drinks and snacks. Wifi available but please keep your smartphone use to a minimum in the communal areas. Walking to Botanic Gardens within 15...

We extend a warm invitation to join us on our farm this spring. We have availability from March into April — a beautiful time of year here, when everything is waking up again and the island feels full of fresh energy. Please inquire for availability during other times of the year. It’s a lovely chance to slow down, breathe, and really feel nature all around you. We’re right by the seaside, so you can live close to the water, enjoy the long light, and settle into the rhythm of rural coastal life. There’s always plenty to learn and experience here, and we’re delighted to welcome helpers who enjoy great scenery, good purpose, and a peaceful place to land for a while. If the timing suits you, we’d be very happy to host you and if you already have some farm experience or any prior experience with ponies/horses we especially welcome you! We look forward to warmly welcoming you! *** Availability in March*** We welcome everybody howev...

Hi travellers, welcome to NZ! I found out about helpx from travellers overseas and thought I would try it. We live on a sheep and beef farm 35 minutes east of Masterton, 15 minutes from Riversdale beach and 25 minutes from Castlepoint beach. I live with my partner Mel and daughters Kenzie (4yrs ) and Emmie (1yr). We are looking for 2 people to help. We require 1 person to help on the farm and 1 person to help watch our daughters :) You will have your own room, food supplied, Internet and washing machine. We can pick you up from Masterton. I have travelled a lot and enjoy meeting new people. I think a travelling experience is most enjoyable when a local shows you the local sites, cultures and attractions. I have had many friends, who I have met overseas, visit me and I enjoy being host and enhancing their NZ experience. And when I visit them they do the same for me. Alex, Mel, Kenzie & Emmie

PLEASE READ MY WHOLE HOST PROFILE BEFORE YOU APPLY TO VISIT MY PLACE AND ASK ABOUT ANYTHING YOUR NOT CLEAR ON You don't need to have an overwhelming desire to save the world, live off the land, or be more useful than a Swiss army knife, to stay here. A nice honest person is good enough. This is a relaxing place, close to nature, away from the backpacker trail on the coast but still got a bit happening, somewhere to recharge your batteries, do a bit of work, have a laugh and meet some real Aussies, maybe get out of your comfort zone a bit😜 My place is a cattle farm with one skinny, old farmer, one dog, some cattle, lots of birds and wildlife, relaxing place, near Kyogle, a quiet country town, which is 1.5 hours drive west from Byron Bay. Two hours south of Brisbane by train. Very close to the beautiful Border Ranges National Park (bike ride away). I like to show people around. There is a mountain on my farm with lots of tracks to walk and a creek to swim in, There is a hammock i...

At our off- grid solar, wood and gravity powered homestead you can live very close to Nature and learn by helping, how to grow your own food in the big, fully caged vegie garden/ orchard and some of how to build a bush cabin (it could be a winning strategy in years to come). We are long term, committed advocates, for climate change action and we've lived with Sustainability and Creating a low "Carbon Footprint" in mind, for 40 yrs now, settling here, (inland of Taree / Port Macquarie) from scratch in 1980, on 680 acres of rocky ridge forest on the wild and steep NW edge of the Bulga Plateau, 500m above sea level (a very beautiful but challenging location)! Watch our YouTube video below, about our community and us, made by the very talented helpxer, Louie Ablett. Three of us live here now, myself 74, David 84 and Sue 64, who started as a WWOOFer and has moved here with the help of a voluntary activity agreement through Centrelink for over 55s'. Sue came in September 2019 , lost th...

We've been part of Helpx for several years now and have met some wonderful people, many of whom we still keep in touch with. We live in York, in the north of England, where we have a garden and (a 10 minute walk away) an allotment where we grow fruit and vegetables. We try to cultivate using the `no-dig` method and like to re-use and recycle wherever possible. Our house has solar panels on the roof for hot water and electricity, as we are keen to reduce our impact on the environment. The work includes turning and spreading compost, making new beds and paths, weeding, seed sowing, planting out, grass cutting and fence painting. From early summer, fruit and vegetables are ready to be harvested and prepared for freezing and conserving. If the weather is bad then there are always jobs to get on with in the house, garage and greenhouse. We can offer all meals, laundry and accommodation, (own bathroom) in return for a helping hand, usually around 4 hours a day, 5/6 days a week, or e...

I would be happy to have a person to help open up the villa in April 2026. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I’m from Ireland and I built the villa on Skopelos in 2008. I t is a two bedroom villa on the island of Skopelos. From May to October. I now live back in Ireland and I come to the island to prepare the villa for the season and to close it up after the season. I am interested in arts and crafts. I love being outdoors, lead an active healthy lifestyle, am friendly open minded and looking forward to meet interesting people who like to help with the villa. Skopelos is on the east coast of Greece and it is one of the greenest islands here. It is not a massive party island, its more laid back and luckily largely unspoilt. It offers many cultural possibilities and to have outdoor experiences such as hiking, mountain biking, swimming, exploring beaches, running, Yoga etc. The island and are...

We are a fun-loving, busy family (father and 3 adult daughters) that run a golf course and have horses as our hobby. It would be great if someone would like to help us look after the golf course -mowing grass - raking bunkers etc. An interest in golf, working outside and being flexible would be appreciated. We could also use some help inside in our bar/cafeteria, serving beer, coffee, cake and washing up etc.. We live 20 mins from Aarhus - the 2nd largest town in Denmark.

We are a Portuguese couple with experience on permaculture and self-sufficient-living that in 2015 got 15ha of abundant land in a beautiful valley and an amazing community at the highest mountains inside the biggest natural park of our country. Rita is a health-food enthusiast and loves to work with different kinds of art-craft. She likes to explore Medicinal plants, Food preservation and fermentation, Hygiene products and teaching Forest School. Walking in the nature, singing with friends and doing yoga are some of the other things she enjoys. Gonçalo is a nature lover with a passion for Permaculture and Natural Farming. Studied Organic Agronomy and has been practicing it since 2008, with the help of volunteers, interns and apprentices. He enjoys sharing and to make music with friends. Unfortunately in 2017 a massive fire went over this beautiful valley but our yurts didnt burn and all the animals survived, in the same year we were blessed with our first home-birth daughter Dana....

A chance to enjoy the beautiful Outer Hebrides! Our house in Sollas, on the northwest coast of North Uist, has plenty of room and is the ideal base for you to explore the islands. Minutes from the beach, moorlands and lochs, we have lots of wonderful places to discover. You will have your own room, WiFi and a bicycle if you need. All food included. Help needed with light cleaning duties, some gardening and grass cutting, collecting shopping from the store (10 minute walk) and food preparation. It won't be more than 20 hours a week and it's completely flexible, you can enjoy everything the islands have to offer in your free-time. We have some sheep who pretty much take care of themselves, grazing on the croft. You can hopefully see most of what you need to know from the photos. The house is two storeys and has five bedrooms. The only person living there full-time is our grandmother and she just uses the downstairs. Family visit at holidays and some weekends. Our Granny can teach you Gae...

We can use your help for minimally three weeks. At this time we could use the help of someone who likes to cook. You would be of great help if you would cook one vegetarian meal a day (not in the weekends) for the three of us: you, Astrid and Thomas. We have no supermarket at hand for forgotten ingredients, so you have to like it to be creative with what is available. Apart from the cooking, it would be great if you would help with the routine jobs: taking care of the chickens and the sheep, do some pruning, carrying stuff, cleaning, irrigating, harvesting, etc. etc. ======================= Who are we looking for? The helper (in exceptional occasions two) we are looking for likes to live a basic life, and enjoys being outside. Enjoyed nature as a child already? Then you will find our place wonderful. There is some clothing for you but not in all sizes, so please bring your own working clothes, shoes and rainwear. We ask you to help us 25 hours a week. We have helpers since 2010. I...

Tena koe, nau mai, haramai ki Tokomaru Bay, a small, predominately Maori seaside community on the East Coast. We live on a four acre lifestyle block in the peaceful Kaiawha Valley about a two minute drive from the village and the beach. There is a 4 Square Supermarket, a cafe and a tavern in the village. We have a room with a queen bed in a sleep out, with helpers own separate lounge/kitchenette. Access to washing machine. The bathroom is inside the main house located a few metres away. Most of the work we require is gardening, landscaping, milking cow, feeding animals, preserving food, servicing our Bed and Breakfast (List 1 Historic Places building) firewood, weed eating, mowing and general maintenance. Jan is a teacher at a Kura Kaupapa Maori three days a week and Bill works from home developing Te Reo Maori learning resources for our local tribe and teaches Te Reo Maori one day a week.

WE PARTICULARLY NEED HELPERS IN SEPTEMBER TO HELP WITH THE APPLE HARVEST, I am a retired English teacher with an interest in all things organic. I live with my husband Richard who is also retired, and we have one dog. Our children and grandchildren play a large part in our lives, we often take care of the small children, and sometimes they come to stay. We will help the volunteer to improve their English, and you have a comfortable bedroom and bathroom and good food which is mainly vegetarian. We now live in a bungalow very close to the beach, and since we have only recently moved in there are so many jobs to sort out. We love growing both food and flowers, so in addition to quite a large garden we also have an allotment where we are learning to grow our favourite foods. There is a small orchard in our garden, ten apple and four pear trees, which need lots of work towards the end of August and for all of September. We also have plenty of winter work - one big job is hanging ...

Hey, hello you ! We are Caro and Chris, Zion and Kiara. We were travelling around the world since a gorgeous time until all this virus craziness happened. Caro, then Chris & Caro were backpacking, doing hitchhiking, etc... The beautiful wildlife. Then kids arrived in 2017 and 2019 so we mainly stayed travelling in Europe by van until they will be able to carry a little backpack ;) When the virus arrived, we were crossing Sweden. Everything became complicated with borders, shops and people so we decided to enjoy the strange time to build our home. We bought an over 300 years old stone house on a big peace of land which were abandoned and this new adventure started. Bretagne is a nice place full of culture, traditions, nice villages, forest and legends and history, and surrounded by the sea. After being helpers ourselves, we now want to be hosts too. We loved it so we expect people love it here too. Our kids are homeschooling with mainly their mother and we would be happy to have Eng...

Would like an energetic couple or single person to help out with gardening, and housework. We would expect about 4-5 hours help a day in return for free accommodation and meals. Large bedroom and own bathroom. We have animals so, would prefer someone who enjoyed them being around. There are many wonderful places to explore in Hawkes Bay when you are not working. Fantastic cycle ways, tramping trips into the native bush areas, beaches and wonderful wineries. Prefer you to have your own car to get around and beable to see the region.

The Exchange We will be focusing on landscaping and eco-building. Whether you are an expert or a total beginner, you are welcome here! Warm welcome for a stay on our calm, beautiful and mindful animal and permuculture farm in Gernsbach, Germany ~~~ "It´s not your job to make it happen, its your job to dream it and let it happen." Abraham Hicks ~~~ HELLO our small farm is located in the beautiful black forest close to Baden Baden, Freiburg and Karlsruhe. On 5 hectar land we have 4 horses, cats, goats, chickens, bees, sheep and rabbits. At the moment we're looking especially for skilled, joyful and mindful volunteers for a work and stay -minimum 2-3 months- for getting into the farm routine and gaining confidence in fullfilling the tasks takes time. A well-rehearsed and stable team that wholeheartedly takes over the daily work on the farm also mediates aswell a trustful atmosphere for our animals and clients. It´s possible to do a federal voluntary service aswell. As we are beginning to grow into a sociotherapeutic permaculture model farm we are especially happy to invite someone longterm with passion for animals, mi...

Please note : We are booked out until late April. Please read our profile before you write to us!!! Hello lovely helpers, welcome to "Breakfast at Tiffany's" which refers to a movie from 1961, It's also the title of a song from 1993. Before we introduce ourselves I would like to let you know that we are not worried about your skills, we don't expect any experts, but someone who genuinely loves plants and to help. We prefer if you can cook and bake bread. For us, communication is the most important thing and best is someone who has a sense of humor and fits into our sociable family. If you are a recluse and rather hide in your room or look at your phone or can't commit to help due to your circumstances, please don't apply. We like playing (modern/strategic) board games, card games and often play Codenames, Concept, Cascadia, Azul, Tsuro and Bananagrams, which can be played even with limited English. So we prefer helpers who like to join in sometimes. If you like chess, ask Andrew ...

Im trying to realize my dream, devoted to permaculture and natural architecture on the 25 decare land we purchased in 2021, where there are pine forests and natural water resources, and where natural life is happily alive. My biggest dream is for my daughter and other children to grow up together in a healthy soil, poison-free tables, on a farm full of happy animals, in a community where our friends and guests contribute. We continue to take slow but beautiful steps on the path we set out with this dream, with the efforts of our friends and volunteers who contribute to us. I will be glad to see you among us I have camping tent, large tent, rv caravan, geodesic dome hause for our volunteers and guests to stay. You can also stay here with your own tents and caravans. We have a common area for shower and toilet. We can cook and eat our meals together during the day, and we will also respect your preferences. In your free time, you can walk in the forest and mountains, chill in the r...

We avoid meat and eat well, often our own organic produce. We can offer cosy accommodation in our timber cabin with bunks. Work is very varied to adapt to peoples` abilities, skills, age, weather etc and can include land-clearing, making terraces, making compost, planting trees, sowing seeds etc We are 40min cycle ride from the nearest rail station or we can pick up from St Junien or Chabanais.

I have hosted many people through Couchsurfing over the years! Helpx is a new concept for me I purchased the property which is in need of a lot of work to tidy up, contouring/fencing/and planting trees etc. I'm now into planting out and setting up orchard also clearing introduced plants and replanting with natives. Current projects are building a new cottage for myself which is at the internal painting stage! and similar 2-bedroom cottage as a guest house which is at the internal lining and painting stage! both will be total off grid power and water supply.

I live here alone and would love the company of like-minded people who enjoy the outdoors and want to help me bring this vision to life.
