I am an aquatic ecologist who has fortunately been working out of our coastal rain-forest property for 35 years. Oamaru is famous for grand Victorian architecture, seashore ecology and for being the coast end of the Alps to Ocean bike trail. Work is available from time to time in exchange for food and lodgings. I live in a beautiful part of the Coromandel, near a small village called Kuaotunu, which is only 5 minutes to some lovely beaches. My home is surrounded by bush with a beautiful stream going through it, that generates the power I need. I also have solar power and solar hot water heating. We grow our own veggies and have cows and a cat and three gold fish. now only two the cat ate one The land has a hill that gives awesome views out to the ocean and lovely bush walks has a meditation spot .. One of the things we do is collect sea food to make yummy meals. i have a self contained chalet, with a log fire. We do all sorts of jobs like gardening, building projects and what ever comes along.
