We have a 1.4 hectare (4-acre) lifestyle block (mini-farm) close to the Hamilton city boundary. Our location is great for day trips to Raglan, Hamilton Gardens, and Hobbiton. For helpers without their own car, there is a bus stop about 15-minutes walk from our house, we might be available to help with a ride to the bus stop, and we drive into town a couple days as week as well. We have horses, goats, chickens, dogs, cats, a rabbit and a pet bird. We are establishing gardens, growing food, following permaculture and organic practices. There is always a wide variety of tasks to suit any helper/s, and the task timeframes are very flexible for weather and sightseeing. Outdoors there is usually some weeding to be done, other garden tasks, maintenance and improvements. Dream projects include building a small greenhouse out of recycled ranchsliders and building some small bridges over the drains. In winter, waterproof footwear is recommended. In summer months we need help with blueberry pick...

Hi there, thanks for choosing to read our entry :)) We live on a small farm (2.5 hectares) inland of Central Portugal, 30km from the Spanish border in a beautiful wild area. From our land you can see the mountain of Monsanto (Sacred Mountain). We have 80 olive trees, 250 vines, various fruit trees and an ever-expanding vegetable garden. We are restoring the land; planting trees and digging ponds and swales. We are working towards a food forest, self-sufficiency, and money-less living. Those are our ultimate goals! Volunteers will be working on any of the land projects: digging garden beds, planting trees, watering the nursery, working in the veggie garden or helping us build because we are still in the process of creating structures. We like to use natural methods of building and work with reclaimed materials as much as possible. We are designing our property along the lines of permaculture principles. A friend recently called our life-style 'natural living'. We don't really know wh...

Hello travellers, and a warm welcome to beautiful Olinda - I am Vita and delighted to host you. **Currently seeking Helper/s who can work in the garden or use a chainsaw to cut fire wood. Or a carpenter who can help repair weather damaged external timber windows. Or someone with mechanical experience to service chainsaw and lawn mowers. Or a Helper with sewing skills and can use a sewing machine. Or a helper who can restore and refinish furniture. I appreciate self-starters and Helpers with initiative, who do not always need to be told what to do and are capable of putting in a full days work. Weeding and garden work is always a go-to if you are waiting instructions. Helpers will sometimes be left to work by themselves as I don’t always have time to supervise them. Therefore, Helpers who can help with l...

The place is an ancient castle from the 14th century that we try to bring back to glory. We created a garden for organic diversity and ecology. It needs gardening and maintenance, mostly with trees and plants, and harvesting fruits and vegetables when time comes. Also taking care of some ducks and chickens, like opening their place in the morning with food and closing it in the evening. Helping on wood construction can also be needed if possible. We are usually 3 adults and 2 kids living on the place, with sometimes visits from people interrested in the project. We also have a great book collection of many subjects available to everyone, and very often we do a musical jam to play with friends and open to everyone that want to learn music.

Hello :) We are a small German family (Jens 55, Doreen 47 and Sam 8) who emigrated to Norway many years ago. We live on a farm here and now have 43 sheep. We need some help with tasks like cleaning out the stable and feeding them. In addition, there are always several tasks to be done on a farm, such as repairing or building fences, felling trees, sawing wood with a chainsaw or cross-cut saw, preparing winter wood and, if necessary, gardening work such as pulling weeds. You'll be staying in a camper van/caravan parked right next to our house. You'll be able to enter the house at any time and use the bathroom and our kitchen. The camper van, of course, has electricity and Wi-Fi. :)

This is a language cafe is designed for those who are willing to meet Korean locals and the ones from overseas. We provide them with the time and the place to meet and get to know each other while have conversations in English. I know from my experience that travelling or staying in other countries is not just doing sightseeing but experiencing the real life there. Here we try to bond them together as friends. If you are looking for something that can give you a chance to meet locals and to be mingled with them, this would be the best option for you. We are a clifftop ecological microfarm on a quarter acre at the westernmost tip of the stunning Beara peninsula in West Cork, Ireland. We have a large family garden that sells small amounts on the side, and our project for 2026 is to turn it into a larger market-gardening business focused on salad-vegetable production. We are looking for help starting in March, when our selling season begins. There will be loads of sowing, planting, weeding, harvesting, and prepping to be done! As well as wheelbarrowing in manure and making and turning compost heaps. My background is in biology and organic horticulture, so if you want to learn about bio-intensive market gardening, geek out about soil biology, and gain some experience on a tiny scale, I am happy to share all I know. At the same time, we are fixing up a small hut as a short-term rental, so if you are interested in carpentry, pouring a new concrete roof, painting, or replacing windows, there is loads of fun to be had. Ideally, you wil...

Hello kind stranger! Our names are Claire and Michiel, we're a young Franco-Belgian family living on an old farmstead near the coast of Wissant, North of France. For 8 years now we are bringing the old farmhouses back to life, while also bringing up our two daughters: Fleur (5 yo) and Perle (3 yo). We've been hosts since 2021 and we love the life that a group of volunteers brings to our place. Making you discover French culture, nature and the sea helps us to enjoy it even more ourselves. Teaching French and picking up on your languages widens our world view and helps our kids to be future globetrotters - like you! The different nationalities we're welcoming make us feel like travelling the world while staying at home. Every day we're hosting, it widens our horizon and gives us love, laughter and friendship. So far we've made an old stable into our home, we've renovated a 'longère' (long farmbuilding) into a woodworker's workshop, our workshop and office space, we've landscaped the c...

Hello Potential Volunteers My name is Paul and it was my dream to change my lifestyle from being an office worker to becoming an alpaca farmer.... here we are 14 years later with 100 alpacas, each individually cherishes with names and unique personalities, plus an assortment of other animals all needing our love :) I have three children: Liam (21), Dylan (9) and Oscar (6), and our 100-acre farm is home to approx.100 alpacas, plus llamas, peacocks, hens, mini pigs, a cat named Sexy, and our farm dog Malta. This year we are expecting 20 'cria' (baby alpacas) and each one will need our help so they can thrive! We need to ensure they get colostrum (filled with antibodies and vital for good health) – have they fed from their mums within the first 24hrs? Are they then drinking enough milk from their mums every day? Are they gaining weight? The well-being of my animals is the most important thing on the farm. Do they have good food and enough water, and the best possible natural environme...

We live in a beautiful small hamlet nestled in the hills of central Portugal. There are four houses which until recently lay abandoned for 60 years. The river Pera runs through the valley (with some great swimming spots) and a spring delivers our drinking water. We, Miguel and Shobha, live here with our twelve year old son, Saul, and nine year old daughter, Anaya, and are restoring part of the hamlet and reclaiming the land. We run a syntropic agriculture reforestation project and provide a retreat and workshop space. Helpers are needed for a vast array of tasks! These include landscaping, clearing, cleaning, cooking, gardening, tree-felling, pointing, dry-wall restoration, helping take care of guests when we have retreats running ... and more! Accomodation is either in tipis, domes or a self-contained room. The set up is basic but comfortable. We have a solar set up for electricity & wifi. We will also provide 3 nourishing meals. We ask for 5 hours work per day, 5 days a week, plus...

I live with my 2 children and dog in an old house in a beautiful part of North Wales. My children are home educated, they are 6 and 9. They love meeting new people, cycling, playing games, arts and crafts, sport. We live on a hill above a village, there is a shop/ post office in the village, and a community centre offering some groups and classes. We are close to the town of Llangollen which has a canal, railway, ruins of a castle, unesco world heritage sites, river and historic house, along with nice cafes, pubs, restaurants and shops. Chirk Castle is also close. There are lots of opportunities for walking, cycling and site seeing in the valley. We are about 1.5 hours from Manchester, Birmingham and Liverpool for your city fix, as well as Snowdonia and the North Wales coast. We are 45 minutes from the historic cities of Chester and Shrewsbury and half an hour from Oswestry or Wrexham. There is limited public transport. Hi travellers, welcome to NZ! I found out about helpx from travellers overseas and thought I would try it. We live on a sheep and beef farm 35 minutes east of Masterton, 15 minutes from Riversdale beach and 25 minutes from Castlepoint beach. I live with my partner Mel and daughters Kenzie (4yrs ) and Emmie (2yrs). We are looking for 1 people to help watch our daughters :) You will have your own room, food supplied, Internet and washing machine. We can pick you up from Masterton. I have travelled a lot and enjoy meeting new people. I think a travelling experience is most enjoyable when a local shows you the local sites, cultures and attractions. I have had many friends, who I have met overseas, visit me and I enjoy being host and enhancing their NZ experience. And when I visit them they do the same for me. Alex, Mel, Kenzie & Emmie

My companion Kent just passed away and now it is me, my son Dylan and his little two and a half year living in this big stone house in the Cévennes.. Dylan is Franco american and I am French. The house has two appartments two apartments. We have a 3 year old dog part time. The house is 2km away from the village of valleraugue in a little hamlet, close to the river. The house is surrounded by a little garden. This area is known for its preserved nature and hiking environment. We have an extra bedroom to offer to a helper in the upstairs apartment. What I need now is someone to help me pack Kent's art studio with all of his artwork. We are having to move out of our house in a few months and as we accumulated lots of stuff it is a big job. I can give rides to the village or surrounding areas. There are buses coming to a city close by from Nimes and Montpellier, Ideally a helper could stay a week or two and we would offer simple lodging and food.

Hamish and I live 10 minutes out of Gisborne in the Ormond village on our lifestyle block along with two of our four children, two cats, and various other animals. We also have a citrus orchard which we are always looking for help with. Ideally we enjoy hosting girls who are willing to become part of the family and help out in the orchard as well as gardening and maybe some of the housework. We grow quite a bit of our own food, and enjoy being able to go out to the garden and harvest dinner. We provide your own bedroom in the house and all your meals in return for 3 to 4 hours help per day, which is flexible if you want to have a whole day to go off and explore. We are very easy going and so far have had great experiences with everyone we have hosted so far. We are not available to host anyone during December and January at this time.

We have a large house with 33,000 sq m of land located in Domancy, Haute Savoie, French Alps, between Chamonix and Megeve. We have spare accomodation in a separate apartment for a person or mature couple who would like to spend a few weeks in this region in return for labour in the garden and forest. This would involve gardening tasks, maintenance, or general assistance. Good opportunity to learn English or French, and spend time in the mountains. It's a family home, not a working farm. Building / maintenance skills would be a plus but strong muscles and a good sense of humour would be even nicer !. Own transport preferred but not essential. There's a lake 2km away for swimming and paddle boarding, and lots to do in your time off. We have two Labrador dogs and two cats, all super friendly. We have a project to build a natural pool in our garden and are looking for helpers who love being outdoors and don't mind hard work ! Looking for help over summer 2025 August to October

Or a carpenter who can help repair weather damaged external timber windows. Or someone with mechanical experience to service chainsaw and lawn mowers. I appreciate self-starters and Helpers with initiative, who do not always need to be told what to do and are capable of putting in a full days work.

About the program : This is about the language practice and sharing their cultures, experiences and the thoughts. As long as you are an easygoing person to talk, open-minded and fluent in English, you can join us. As we are NOT looking for English teachers, it really doesn't matter which country you're from and you don't have to teach but have a conversation in English. And basically it is a 2 way conversation so you don't have to ta...

I am looking for some help with housework, cooking, playing with ...

We are a Portuguese couple with experience on permaculture and self-sufficient-living that in 2015 got 15ha of abundant land in a beautiful valley and an amazing community at the highest mountains inside the biggest natural park of our country. Rita is a health-food enthusiast and loves to work with different kinds of art-craft. She likes to explore Medicinal plants, Food preservation and fermentation, Hygiene products and teaching Forest School. Walking in the nature, singing with friends and doing yoga are some of the other things she enjoys. Gonçalo is a nature lover with a passion for Permaculture and Natural Farming. Studied Organic Agronomy and has been practicing it since 2008, with the help of volunteers, interns and apprentices. He enjoys sharing and to make music with friends. Unfortunately in 2017 a massive fire went over this beautiful valley but our yurts didnt burn and all the animals survived, in the same year we were blessed with our first home-birth daughter Dana....
