I am an aquatic ecologist who has fortunately been working out of our coastal rain-forest property for 35 years. Driven by strong curiosity, I have recently been developing long-term data sets on the animal life in the forest that surrounds our home, plus on tropical marine fish that are steadily increasing in numbers under the influence of climate change at the nearby very beautiful Seal Rocks area (for details click on my website link below). We have 20 acres with 2 acres cleared and the remainder moist tall forest and rainforest. It is on the coast 3 hrs drive north of Sydney (1.5km from Smiths Lake; 30km south of Forster) See my blog link below to glimpse the accommodation, typical work and fun. We have a 180 squ m vegetable garden at times needing attention which has been enclosed to keep out our friends the wallabies (pademelons), possums, parrots and native bush turkeys. Bush regeneration is another activity as well as assisting in ecological surveys of local rivers when t...

We are looking for one or two paid staff to begin work on the 20th of September. Preference is given to people who can stay for at least 6 weeks, longer is available. Free accommodation onsite with free fast Starlink internet. This place is a former Monastery, which is now a farm and guesthouse on the Great Ocean Road. We have some lovely black alpacas, a big white fluffy dog and some gorgeous highland cattle. We can give you a very relaxing and spectacular place to live with amazing views of the ocean and surrounding landscape. Our property is between Lorne and Apollo Bay. Only 15 minutes along the Great Ocean Road to Apollo Bay. It is preferable to have your own car to get around in this area. The ocean and beach is across the road! We are looking for help with guest preparation and cleaning at our guesthouse, which sits in the middle of a farm. There may be other general grounds maintenance requirements like mowing the lawn from time to time. Check out our website for more pho...

**Next project: Bathroom upgrade. Looking for someone to help with this. Some handyman/building knowledge would be useful. Starting asap.** A busy 2 hectare block in Earnscleugh/Alexandra NZ that has a small scale plant nursery. We manage the Nursery growing plants that suit our region and are hardy to our environment. This takes up most of our time. We need help with garden and day to day lifestyle block tasks. Plenty to keep one busy with mowing, weeding & tidying. Our Vegetable & Berry gardens are a bit overgrown, & sometimes the seedlings don't make it into the garden on time to grow. We currently have a building project that we need help for. We are happy to teach you nursery tasks such as potting on, growing from seed, cuttings & division. Teddy, Walter & Slinky Bill the cats live in the house too. Sheep and Hens to take care of. You would have your own room in our home. All other amenities are shared. We are located 10 minutes drive from Clyde & Alexandra. We have...

Gardening, housework, light mechanical, a bit of hunting, all sorts of things, never boring.A wicked sense of humor is a good asset to bring. handy to Routeburn and Greenstone tracks. You will need your own internet connection as I don't supply wifi. A bit isolated, not for the precious, no trophy hunters!! Please don't apply unless you intend to come for a minimum stay of two weeks. One person only. We do not get involved with internships or visa applications. Vegetarians and vegans would probably not be comfortable as we eat meat daily. I am off grid and totally dependent on solar, so you have to charge your devices during the day and definitely no hairdryers! Accommodation is a house bus in warmer weather or a room in the house in winter, not shared usually. Lastly I also play the guitar (badly) and sing (worse) but it's all about smile not style :-) , please don't come if you have a heavy cold or flu, I'm involved with the elderly. Cheers Al

This is an exciting opportunity to have an experience that will stay with you throughout your life. Our Foundation aims at helping rural children receive a qualitative outstanding education. We have a volunteer teaching program to assist rural teachers and children get exposure to foreign languages and cultures. Because English is the second language in Thai schools, we concentrate on improving the English language skills of both rural teachers and children. At present, we aim to help 4 public elementary schools (grades 1 - 6) close to Chiang Mai. We are currently taking applications for volunteers who would available to start mid-November and commit to at least 8 weeks . We are looking for volunteers to teach English only. Couples are welcome as well. NOTE: We do not charge volunteers any fees for staying with us. The generous gift of your time and dedication is all the donation we will ask of you. We provide the volunteers lodging and meals in return for their generous servic...

Hi there Traveler We offer a farm stay with great views and good conversation. We chopped down a pine forest and replanted with Manuka about 4 years ago so it’s starting to look really great, and more native birds are about. Established a wetland reserve as well. Also we are developing another small retreat area that needs assistance with tracks and tree management. Some stock work is all so on offer but we will work with you all the time as it’s safer and more fun. cheers and safe travels Geoff and Declan

This can be your basecamp for winter in Tongariro National Park — a dual World Heritage site with two ski fields right up the road. We're at the base of Mt Ruapehu, with Whakapapa and Turoa both within easy reach, so you're sleeping at the mountain rather than driving up in the dark and cold every morning. Wake up, check the conditions, and go. We're a 85-bed backpackers and we're popular with HelpX — usually 4 to 8 helpers on site at any one time, plus a steady flow of guests through the lodge. It's busy, it's social, and there's always something going on. Lots of fellow travellers, lots of mountain time, lots of opportunities to make the most of where you are. We take helpers all year round, but we get booked up well in advance — so reach out early and we'll do our best to work your dates in with your NZ travel plans. Two weeks or more is ideal: time to settle in, wait out the weather, and actually live in the park rather than just passing through. One week works at a pinch, but y...

Hi, I am Tika. I am a teacher at the local government secondary school in Maipokhari village. I am living with my family in Sandakpur-3, Maipatal village in the Ilam district. There are 4 family members in our family. Me, my wife (dika), son (suman) and a daughter (sudha). The village is located around 600km from Kathmandu with an altitude of 2225 mt. The Ilam district is famous for its tea farms. We have our own organic farm, with fruit & herbal plants and a nursery consisting mainly of kiwi plants. We have also two cows. We are growing kiwi, black tea, ground apples, chickpeas, cucumber and beans. Volunteers are warmly welcomed to my farm as well as my family. You can experience rural life in the east of Nepal and you can get a true sense of local rural life. Our village and its surroundings are quite green and it's known as the greenest district of Nepal as well as the tea paradise. If you like, you can do many activities here. Experience your pleasant stay within the clouds at ou...

i now live with my partner and two children . We have recently decided that over spring and summer we are open to taking a single person to help on our small farmlet . Jobs mainly based around weeding , firewood , and also taking care and looking after our 3.5 year old boy . We would be looking at 2 to 3 hours work during the mourning in exchange for accomadation that being a sleep out with comfortable bed and toilet, small fridge. The child is easy to look after basically just needs keeping an eye on and entertaining . Sumone with own transport is prefered simply as then you will be able to go and explore in the afternoons . The stay would be accomadation only however if there is an excess of seasonal foods or eggs its fine to help yourself . The bathroom is inside as is the kitchen , we have a make yourself at home attitude with the thoughts of how much you interact with out family outside of work hours completly up to the individual . We have a dog , chicken , ducks, two beef sto...

Animal Rescue and Sanctuary and Organic Vegan Farm in Central Costa Rica Hello everyone! What we do: We take care of animals, we grow organic food, we prepare and eat tasty vegan meals, we minimize our impact on the earth, and we enjoy the company of our Costa Rican friends and neighbors. We have run a volunteer program for over 18 years, and have had several hundred people come to work with us! Our farm is primarily an animal rescue, rehab and sanctuary. Our doors are open to animals in need. We currently have five rescue dogs, five goats, a pig, a horse, one cat, and two water buffalos. Some came off the streets, some were abandoned, others were injured and no longer wanted. We adopt out what we can, but most are retired and happy to live their lives on the farm. The 3.5 hectare property is covered with many tropical fruit trees, including water apple, mandarin orange, banana (many varieties), guayaba, guanabana, cas, caimito, lime, nance, coffee and araza. Depending on the se...

We are looking for helpers who can help for a minimum of two weeks, but helpers who can stay a bit longer are preferred. This really suits helpers who are keen to learn about farming and are interested in that. You will have your own separate, private, peaceful accommodation, with en-suite, washing machine and kitchen with beautiful views of rural land and Tasman Bay. At present we are likely looking at availability at the end of September. Wi-Fi, power and water included, plus food allowance. You must be physically strong, hard-working, practical and fit, with plenty of stamina - as well as not being afraid of getting your hands dirty. Beautiful hill country sheep and cattle farm, with views of the sea and mountains. You must enjoy working with animals, be kind, respect and care for them. There is plenty to do all year around and depends on the season. Currently we are lambing which is always a special experience. There are already a few pet lambs that will need feeding and ca...

Welcome! Your choice: You can exchange two hours help a day for the room only, or you can work for 4 hours a day and we provide meals. We have a private spot close to town here, and are two friendly people, a little dog, and some chickens. Our quiet and green home is in easy and pleasant walking distance of Nelson city centre. It's like being in the country. There is also a bus just steps away, if you want to get into town quickly. This is a good mix - looking after trees, garden, house and each other; making music; preserving fruit, etc We - meaning us two, Ian and Eva - love WWOOFers who enjoy what we are doing, and want to be friendly and part of the family. Eva is a Homoeopath, Ian is an Engineer, we both love to sing, eat, and share good food, and have fun with friendly woofers. The house is surrounded by green hills, with some of Nelson's best bike tracks and walks right next to us. We love cooking and sharing meals. We can talk with you in English, French or German No Smo...

Hello everyone. Thanks for your interest. I am currently inviting HelpX from October 1 st. People who can stay at least a week would be great. If you’re interested please reply telling me a bit about yourself and your interests, skill sets and abilities. I look forward to hearing from you. Haumoana is a small, very artsy and alternative, semi rural seaside village. There are two surfing spots very close by. Yoga and pilates classes and great coffee shops 5 minutes away as well as a well provisioned grocery store near by. Miles of bike tracks, mostly off-road mean you can ride to the two larger towns Napier and Hastings on bikes I provide. If you don’t have your own transport you should be aware Haumoana does not have any public transportation and you will need to bike wherever you wish to go though sometimes I can offer to take you somewhere. You will be glamping in a tiny gorgeous cabin perched above a lagoon next to the beach with your own bathroom and private deck and simple k...

** CURRENTLY LOOKING FOR HELP** Hi, welcome to NZ, and hopefully to Kōpuaranga, Masterton! Our home out of site of other houses, so a rural experience, views and usually a great night sky are guaranteed - yet still only a ten minute drive to our service town of Masterton which has rail links to Wellington. An easy pick up or drop off if you do not have your own vehicle. We are located just a 1.5 hour drive north of Wellington off State Highway 2. Masterton is central to a lot of walks, mountains rivers and coastline and some beach/ surf communities too. We have a river boundary with trout and eels, and it is great for a speedy dip on the hot days before the nature gets too curious! We have now been on this property for 18 months, so much has been achieved with HelpX travel friends, but we are only half way through... Outside we are building bird rearing pens, raising chickens and sheep, and further developing our produce and ornamental gardens. Inside we are wallpaper stripping...

We’re on a tranquil lifestyle block in the beautiful historic village of Puhoi. Very handy to Auckland, less than a 40-minute drive to the CBD, but a world away from the hustle and bustle of big cities. Our village center is within easy walking distance. It includes the historic Puhoi Pub, a General Store, sports club, kayak hire business, small museum and small café. Puhoi is on the Te Araroa trail and there are numerous bushwalks and beautiful beaches within a short drive. Your own transport is recommended, as there is no public transport in Puhoi. Richard and I have recently retired and welcome the right people to help and hopefully enjoy the property as much as we do. We’ve loved our travelling experiences and always enjoy meeting new people and learning about other countries and lifestyles. Free accommodation is offered in our fully self-contained studio/loft above our barn, which is separate to the main house and tenant’s cottage. The barn is super clean and tidy with wif...

Hi We are a family of 4 and have a small private self contained cottage with stunning views over Cooks Beach and Mercury Bay. Walking distance to Cooks Beach and shops (500m), Lonely Bay, Flaxmill Bay and Ferry Landing and Whitianga (3km). I have a new cabin on the hill above cooks beach, coromandel. Its insulated, lined, beds, powerbank, compost toilet, outdoor shower, wifi, mobile, cooking facilities on the covered decks. It needs some landscaping and work to make it pretty. The cabin is for gardeners to help me with my large gardens. Around 70 varieties of fruit trees, which always have something to eat. We can pick up and drop off from Whitianga or Hahei / Hotwater Beach. We are looking for assistance with gardening, weeding, spraying, tree planting, cleaning, track building and property maintenence. We can provide some food, veges from the garden, fruit and some basic supplies, but generally we expect you to look after yourselves, cook your own meals etc. Sometimes we can s...

.Hilary and I live in a 3 bedroom strawbale house which we built with the help of family, friends and HelpX. After three years of fun and hard work, the house was finished in 2012. In 2020 we decided to have another affair with strawbale. In a paddock near the house we built "Lockdown Cottage"; a 10 square meter, single room retreat. The buildings are on just over 6 hectares and we have sheep, goats, a cat, honey bees, native tree plantings, an orchard, soft fruits and nut trees. Our 4 goats are used as pack animals and we share many adventures in the mountains. We are now training another 3 goat kids to follow in our foot steps. We grow and make as much of our own food as possible; bread, cakes, pickles, yoghurt and jams are created in the kitchen, vegetables and fruit come out of the garden and meat comes from our animals. Helpx helpers can either sleep in our house - there is a large bedroom with a double bed, or in Lockdown cottage which is 1 minutes walk from the house. Lockdo...

I have a working beef, sheep & hobby farm located about 20mins drive from Invercargill. There are dairy cows, beef cattle, pigs, sheep, donkey, deer & a variety of birds. I’m a mid 50's guy living with my partner in a large modern home with extensive gardens. I’m looking to host travelers who want an authentic New Zealand farm experience. You will assist me to keep the grounds tidy and other seasonal jobs to do involving the animals on the farm. Jobs may include; lawn mowing, tidying sheds, gardening, feeding animals. I offer quality accommodation (own room & ensuite) and meals. You don’t need to have previous farm experience but please be fit and eager to learn. If you can cook meals then even better! Happy to host single, two friends, couple of any age for up to a week. LGBTIQ+ travellers welcome. Approx 20 km to Invercargill, Riverton and Winton, (2 hours drive from Queenstown). It’s a rural address so your own transport would be an advantage.

Hi! I’m Tina (41), and I live on our family farm in the beautiful countryside with my husband Yuri, our two daughters (5½ and 1½ years old), my mother-in-law, my brother-in-law, two dogs, and several cats. For many years, we ran a professional organic vegetable farm and sold our produce at local farmers’ markets every weekend. It was a wonderful experience, but now we’re starting a new chapter. Our main focus is shifting towards caring for our orchards and trees, while continuing to grow a diverse vegetable garden for our family’s own food and maybe in the future also for some local stores. Life on the farm is always busy and full of ideas and projects. We love creating, improving, planting, building and learning, so there is always something interesting going on. We are looking for volunteers who are excited to become part of our evolving farm, enjoy hands-on projects, and like seeing the results of their work. We are looking for a female volunteer to support me in everyday family li...

We are in the process of renovating an old house in the Pyrenees. There is only decorating to do such as stripping paint of walls and woodwork, and repainting. There might be the occasional carpentry to do also, nothing too complicated. We need help 5 hours per day, five days per week. Weeding, pruning trees, making paths. We are looking for help from two strong and healthy individuals to assist with a house redecorating project and gardening, trimming trees, path making etc. This requires physical strength and stamina. PLEASE NOTE WELL: we absolutely cannot host anyone with any pre-existing health issues, physical or mental (we are not medically trained to manage such conditions), such as hay fever, any other allergies, sensitivities or intolerances. We live in a small village with some shops and a climbing centre and a river just opposite the house. We have a quite a size garden where we grow vegetables, fruit bushes and trees. We are a family of four offering a comfortable, self‑contained one‑bedroom unit to travellers in exchange for help with our garden, which we are gradually revegetating. Hi. We are a fun, friendly household in the sunny Bay of Plenty! I'm a Drama & English teacher and Blair is an electrician. My husband and I have 2 fun, adventurous girls, we also have a dog and cat. We enjoy biking, baking, board games and picnics at the beach, amongst other things. We would love to host people who are honest, friendly, independent, hard-workers and are interested in meeting new people and enjoying what Tauranga has to offer. In exchange for 4 hours work per day, you will receive free accommodation, breakfast and dinner(please provide your own lunch and snacks) and wifi. Work includes domestic-type chores; mainly cleaning, cooking and possibly baby-sitting - helps if you like children and animals. We have a cat and golden retriever. It is definitely easier if you have a car, although buses are available from here. We had a homestay from China for a year who found their way round on the buses fine but it does take a while. Happy for any amount of time e.g. 1 or 2 w...

The barn is super clean and tidy with wif...

.Hilary and I live in a 3 bedroom strawbale house which we built with the help of family, friends and HelpX. Lockdo...

We have a 400 hectare Sheep, Beef and Cropping farm in Marlborough. We have two boys and need an extra pair of hands from time to time to help on the farm, around the garden or inside the house. We prefer one person or a couple as we only have one spare room in the house. Also you must be able to speak good English and be able to drive a manual (not automatic) vehicle. We always need help with feeding pet lambs, lambing, tailing lambs (alot of lifting) cattle work, sheep shearing, firewood and fencing. We LOVE it if you can bake and cook too :)

Here, we have spectacular mountain views on our do...

We are a family of four offering a comfortable, self‑contained one‑bedroom unit to travellers in exchange for help with our garden, which we are gradually revegetating. Our children are 2 and 4 years old, so we welcome guests who enjoy being around little ones and who can be mindful of keeping noise low during nap times and evenings. Our accommodation is well suited to solo travellers, couples, or friends travelling together who are happy sharing a peaceful, family‑oriented environment. We have a queen sized bed in the bedroom for our guests, however there is also a day bed and a fold out sofa in the units living space that can be converted into additional beds if required. Our home is located in a quiet neighbourhood just 4 km from the Launceston CBD. There is a bus stop close by, and a local supermarket is only a five‑minute walk away. Just across the road from our home is Queechy Lake, a peaceful natural space that is especially appealing to birdwatchers and nature lovers. These...

1 or 2 w...

Hi Everyone We are a Mixed farming enterprise. We have Cattle and seasonal cropping. We have 2 resident working dogs . The home and accommodation are on the Beach front in a small coastal town. The beach front home is only 100mts to the ocean so great for all beach activities out the front gate. There is Separate accommodation to main house with amenities. Work will involve travelling to the properties to help inspect livestock waters and wellbeing. Other jobs include feeding stock, gardening, shifting hay, loading hay so being able to drive a tractor is an advantage but not essential.. These work times are usually a short period and not every day. So there will be several days where you will be able to do your own thing . There are numerous scenic and tourist destinations close by. Robe, Mt Gambier, Blue Lake, Naracoorte caves just to name a few. Accommodation is a Modern furnished separate building to the main house allowing your own privacy. I am a creative person living in Mumbai (Bombay) , India, I grew up in rural and urban natural lives. Making me experience working on farms, cities and learn some things on different levels of cultures, society differences, Indian deeper roots, religious, spiritual and positivity through life. So looking at life in its best or worst way, with in its various colourful shades. 👉🏼 For References - ask for my other volunteer site profile. 👉🏼 My passion is film making but still I am trying to develop my spiritual understanding. Sametime in support of growing world awareness of organic life or climate changes comes as a beginning of a new era. And proud to be part of it as its time to deconstruct what we constructed just in few decades. Mumbai city is the only city in the world where the Country lives in a city i.e you will find everyone from the different parts of India living in the city of Mumbai. The city also supports some ancient spiritual caves and temples. It is active in mov...
