I'm located 16km South of Te Puke on a property that has a back boundary of native forest. I'm usually able to host people at any time of year, but am busiest in the spring. I currently have building projects happening, as well as lots of painting, waxing new bee frames, and also hands on beekeeping for anyone who is keen. I also keep sheep and cattle on the property here, and hunt deer and pigs in the forest. Volunteers share daily life with us at the reserve and have opportunities to interact with local community members and other rural projects in the area. **Spaces Available May, June, August and September 2026** Come and join our Friendly team in the Hebrides. We have a minimum stay of 3 weeks but prefer a month. In exchange for 20 hours work per week, we provide free accommodation, access to the breakfast supplies, free Wifi and laundry. We also have a staff 'free food' cupboard with some basic supplies (rice, pasta, lentils, tinned tomatoes etc). Volunteers are responsible for buying the rest of their food and for their own cooking! The warden's (staff) cottage is attached to but is separate from the hostel. This has 1 bedroom with 4 beds and a bathroom upstairs and a kitchen / common area downstairs. We will also be using the treehouse for staff again this year and 1 or 2 volunteers accommodated in there will have access to the warden's cottage too. Spring May 5, 2026 - opening and for the month of MAY :) Wow, exploring right outside our backdoor along side the Campbell River on Vancouver Island, is a beautiful place to experience Vancouver Island`s great outdoors this SPRING with all the wild life right in our back yard :) Although we live on a one acre town lot, our back yard is situated on a cliff over looking an accessible beautiful heritage river, with a nature park setting of ferns, Douglas fir, maple and alder trees. You can often see deer, raccoons, bears and the silver backs of salmon and Steelhead fish jumping in the ebb and flow of the river’s pools. We have trail access to the river below, where you can enjoy listening to the sing song of many birds, tubing down the river/swimming in the heat of the summer, and trying your hand at casting for Steelhead fish. We are Axel and Mônica (both 52). We are living in Portugal and our house with 3000 squaremeters of land is in a small village in the countryside of the beautiful Algarve. We can offer accommodation (bedroom - as you can see on the picture - and separate bathroom for you) and meals of course. Behind the village the mountains start, so here is a lot of nature,the beaches are 30km away. The next town (Messines) is 4km away, the next village about 1km. We need helpers mid o June 2026 for twonor three weeks for some work in our garden.. We prefer a couple or two friends, but if you are a single helper, you can contact us as well. Come and get a real taste of Nu Zelan! Home brew, home made breads and fresh fish.. Bush crash up the stream, swim at the beach across the road, come fishing with me on the kayaks. Take the bikes, pedal 2km to Waiomu; then tramp/jog to some beautiful Kauri (1/2 to 3/4hr). Do an overnighter at The Pinnacles Hut up the Kauranga Valley if yr into vast iconic views and like tramping (you need to book). If you have wheels you can do great day trips around the Peninsula. And if yr more chill, Thames has some great op-shops. Debs & I are happy boomers on the endless holiday ! Loving every second left. Our place sits high on a hill with spectacular 360 degree views of mountains, valleys, rolling hills and city lights overlooking all of Albury/Wodonga, twin cities on the Murray River. We are on the main freeway between Melbourne, Canberra and Sydney. Large luxury cedar and rock homestead on 100 acres. Lots of historic church features incorporated into the homestead and cute rustic outbuildings , antiques and artistic detail abound. Beautiful and unique large garden filled with 100+ sculptures, many paths to explore, ponds, organic vegetable and berry gardens, free range poultry and wildlife galore and many other interesting features.
