I am a 47yr old englishman living with my greek partner. We have a large land in a small village - Velanidia - in the Peloponnese near the sea. The nearest town - Neapoly - is 30 minutes drive. We would like our visitors to enjoy the beauty of this place and in return give us five to six hours a day to help us with the upkeep of the property. Most of the tasks will be working on the land. You will have your own room, with superb views, and eat with us twice a day.On most days there is free Wi Fi, provided by the local municipality, and can be used from the balcony of our home. We like our visitors to stay for at least two weeks minimum but prefer longer stays. I would like to point out that where we are has a very long summer. Photo1 our home, photo2 local beach, photo3 living room. photo4 sunrise from our land, photo5 the village and photo6 the family. Please ensure that you have a photo of yourself on your profile otherwise I will not answer your request. . During the months...

Hello, my name is Florent, I'm 45 years old, I was a chef for about twenty years, and since 2017 I've been a spirulina producer. Spirulina is a microalga that's very rich in nutrients. It's a very environmentally friendly crop, requiring little energy and no pesticides. Spirulina needs sun and warmth to grow. The harvest season in our region runs from April to October, and it's during this period that I'm interested in hosting someone (I don't need two people at the same time, one is enough). Normally, I already have people helping me until the end of august, so I'm looking for someone from beginning of september. I mainly need someone to help me harvest the spirulina but also sometimes to help me out on the farm with various tasks, as we do everything ourselves: cleaning, labeling, packaging, general maintenance and odd jobs, and also everything else that goes along with the spirulina production: clearing brush, chopping wood, going to markets from time to time, house constructi...

Hello! We live on a beautiful two and a half acre bush block, surrounded by tall trees and we are an easy 1km walk to lovely swimming beaches on the South Coast of NSW. We need help with our property maintenance - eg. weeding, raking, mowing, feeding the chooks, collecting the eggs, compost making etc If outdoor work is not your thing, or if it is raining and the weather not great, there are inside tasks I need a hand with like cleaning windows, general housework plus if you are a keen cook you are most welcome to take a turn! In the ten years we have been here, we have worked hard to establish a caged vege garden, some fruit trees, plus we breed chickens as egg layers. We have Australorps (black and blue) Cream Legbars, Olive Eggers, plus a mixture of other varities. Our local town of Moruya, has a fabulous, award winning Farmers Market which operates every Tuesday afternoon. There is also a very friendly community running group each Wednesday afternoon, with the choice of 2...

We are in the process of renovating an old house in the Pyrenees. There is only decorating to do such as stripping paint of walls and woodwork, and repainting. There might be the occasional carpentry to do also, nothing too complicated. We need help 5 hours per day, five days per week. Weeding, pruning trees, making paths. We are looking for help from two strong and healthy individuals to assist with a house redecorating project and gardening, trimming trees, path making etc. This requires physical strength and stamina. PLEASE NOTE WELL: we absolutely cannot host anyone with any pre-existing health issues, physical or mental (we are not medically trained to manage such conditions), such as hay fever, any other allergies, sensitivities or intolerances. We live in a small village with some shops and a climbing centre and a river just opposite the house. We have a quite a size garden where we grow vegetables, fruit bushes and trees. Hello kind stranger! Our names are Claire and Michiel, we're a young Franco-Belgian family living on an old farmstead near the coast of Wissant, North of France. For 8 years now we are bringing the old farmhouses back to life, while also bringing up our two daughters: Fleur (5 yo) and Perle (3 yo). We've been hosts since 2021 and we love the life that a group of volunteers brings to our place. Making you discover French culture, nature and the sea helps us to enjoy it even more ourselves. Teaching French and picking up on your languages widens our world view and helps our kids to be future globetrotters - like you! The different nationalities we're welcoming make us feel like travelling the world while staying at home. Every day we're hosting, it widens our horizon and gives us love, laughter and friendship. So far we've made an old stable into our home, we've renovated a 'longère' (long farmbuilding) into a woodworker's workshop, our workshop and office space, we've landscaped the c...

Hi beautiful people! I’m Christine, a happy spirited former language and arts teacher working across two continents. Since I retired I work in the natural health field. I live on an urban block called The Roo‘s Pouch, where I maintain a sustainable vegetable garden and created a community of nice people living with me. I live in one of the buildings on this sunny property which runs on rainwater harvesting. We avoid chlorine and contaminates by filtering, harmonizing, and energizing our own water though Ionisation. Water conservation is part of life for me. You can come to Maryborough via plane, bus or train. The Hervey Bay Airport is only 30min from my home. There are meanwhile several bus companies to choose from. If you use the train please book Maryborough town from the drop down menu. The shuttle bus from the train station in Maryborough west (20 min out of town) is free of charge if it is pre-booked. As international travelers you qualify for a concession card on Queensland trai...

Hosting and educating helpers from mid April until end of October every year. I am a male from the UK, now living in France, and I have an interesting informative project in progress! Having lived off-grid in various locations over the past 20 years, I am based in the heart of the Languedoc Roussilon region (the worlds largest wine area). I currently have the basics set up in my re-purposed barn, including solar panel electricity for fridge, charging phones and laptops during day. Composting toilet, separate ladies no 1s toilet. Simple showers, we fill with buckets water from river. That warms quickly in the Mediterranean sun or you can heat hot water over our cooking fire. We also use a gas hob for cooking and hot drinks only. We get a good 4g and 5g signal here. I would particularly like help with basic supervised DiY, weed clearing, re-roofing, and renovation of the barn, along with tree and vegetable planting and care. I expect 20 hours work per week in return for food, wine and ac...

I'm Thanasis, a 45 years old greek man living in the South of the Peloponnes. I'm a farmer, with oranges trees and some olive trees. I also have a shop, mainly selling coffee that I roast on site. If you come, you will have your own room (1 for a couple or separate), and access to all the rest of the house (kitchen, bathroom...). I like to share the meal, and provide food if you want to cook. You also can use WI-FI connection. You could enjoy the life between the farm and the city of Skala Lakonia, wich offer a lot of coffee shop, restaurants, and any kind of stores. Minimum stay is 2 weeks, to allow time to learn about life on the farm. I need help for a maximum of 5 hours per day, 5 days per week, depending on the weather. I really like to meet new people and introduce them to Greece history. I practice karaté (three times per week) and would be happy t...

We are 3 families living on a big land with fields, forests and spring water, renovating an old house, gardening, raising up children and animals. We are looking for help to renovate the house, grow the veggies, play with the children, and for DIY work. The people living here are 4 adults and 6 children from 4 to 16. The children are here one week out of 2, except for the youngest one who's always here. We're also sharing daily life with a big dog, cats, sheep and chicken. Our daily life rhythm is following the children's rhythm. Helping times is quite random because it is mainly outside and it will depend on the weather and other tasks. There are many different types of tasks to do here and we will adapt to each person's preferences. You will have your own free time to discover this beautiful historical area too and spend fun time with or without us. Meals will be shared and we'll ask for a small financial participation. We'll adapt to circumstances, children and how many persons s...

We are Michael and Esther and live in a villa in Swedish Lapland, surrounded by lakes, forests and endless nature. We are looking for one person or a couple to help us around our property during the summer season. The main tasks are cleaning and preparing guest rooms and common areas, helping to keep the property tidy and welcoming, gardening, outdoor maintenance and occasional DIY projects. We offer a private apartment with kitchen, bathroom and WiFi. In your free time you can enjoy hiking, fishing, kayaking, SUP, cycling, sauna and the beautiful nature around us. We are especially looking for reliable, motivated and independent people who take pride in doing a good job. Usually the help is around 25 hours per week. We live on a small property eight minutes from Kerikeri township. We have a private lake and kayaks are available to explore. We used to run a bed and breakfast here so I guess we can say we dont bite and our place is clean and comfortable. Some animals and chickens on site. Fruit when in season. Having a vehicle to explore for times when you are not working is a must and there is no public transport here. We are meat eaters. We need help now throughout the year. I have a charming, sunny, comfortable home with a lovely garden and a beautiful view over the harbour and mountains. It is very central, well connected to transport, with big parks and green belt very close. I usually only have one bed available, so mostly take 1 person at a time - only occasionally can I take 2 people. In return for two hours work in the house and garden per day, I will provide free accommodation and breakfast. I speak fluent Spanish and can help with someone learning English. I have a sociable lifestyle with many friends, and helpers are welcome to join in on some dinners. But I do need Helpxers who are independent too, since there will be times when I am very busy and not around much. If you're good at cleaning, gardening, painting and doing home maintenance and repairs around the house, that would be great. And I love good food, so good cooks are always welcome!

I usually live in Australia with my husband but have returned to Japan to look after my 100-year-old mother at her house in Yokohama, an hours drive south of Tokyo. My husband will soon return to Australia as the fire season is approaching and there are dangers for our house in the forest there (see BLOG and WEBSITE). With only me looking after my mother it is quite intense as I can get little rest, and according to my mother's doctor, the intensity will only increase towards the end of the year. I worry I will have trouble in the future getting out to do shopping and even my own medical appointments. There is a constant flow of medical professionals coming to the house (nurses, doctor, physiotherapist, dentist, masseuse and social worker), but this does not give me a break as it is important that I am present and alert absorbing any developing insights. Given: i) very positive experiences in Australia with HelpX helpers (see reviews in the WEBSITE), and ii) the fact that the top fl...

We are Ines and Stefan Grillmair living with our Kids Heidi (8), Nino (6) and Robin (4) at a small farm in Bachmanning, Upper Austrian countryside. We moved in this 400-year-old house in 2023, after a year of maintaining the main building. At the moment we have 5 sheep mowing the steep land in the back yard. We look forward doing some gardening and pasture work in 2025. For that reason, we definitely look for handy helpers that are used to work with tools and own hands. We stick to helpx recommended 4 hours of help per day, and appreciate self-responsible management on this. We are self-employed, our daily job is all about coffee. We are Barista, run shops in the City of Wels and Salzburg and work most days at home. We know HelpX from our Work&Travel experience in New Zealand, a decade ago. We enjoy being a Host now. Our House is located in the so called “Voralpenregion” which means, that it`s close to the Alps, especially Salzkammergut. By car or train you reach Gmunden (40 min)...

Kia Ora to you Please come stay so you can get to know some Aucklanders and our inner city fun and funky neighbourhood, I really appreciate having people to stay from Helpx to help with some of the jobs of maintaining an old wooden villa and garden. The garden is based on permaculture principles. My home is in Grey Lynn in a central part of Auckland. Close to cafes, bars, and the Auckland Zoo.The bus route is excellent. I also have bikes you can use to get around the city. You will be sharing our house with us and have your own rooms. I run Air BnB in the other rooms so there will be other guests in the house. Many are on the Working Holiday Visa looking to establish themselves and get sorted when they arrive or are leaving New Zealand. We like to cook and eat together when it suits everyone. Ours is a busy social house and you can be part of what is going on - if that suits you. The kitchen, laundry and bathroom are all shared with the other guests and of course you. The H...

We are located about 40minutes from the major cattle hub and historical town of Charters Towers I love to cook and grow our own food. One of my hobbies is preserving food and baking which has resulted in me starting a Small business called Darlene’s Country Kitchen. I sell my products and produce in our local town, Charters Towers. We also attend a regular Market on the 4 Sunday of every month. Helpers will be expected to feed and water chickens, ducks and geese, collect eggs, help outside in the garden and help indoors.

I need help all the year to maintain the big farm (orange and olive harvest, trees pruning, pick-up fallen oranges, and so on..) If you come, you will have your own room (1 for a couple or separate), and access to all the rest of the house (kitchen, bathroom...). I like to share the meal, and provide food if you want to cook.

Kia ora, we have a 3 bedroom home in Kaponga a quiet rural town close to beautiful Hollard gardens, mount Taranaki, Dawson falls 20 minutes to Stratford or Hawera and 50 minutes to New Plymouth. My adult son and I have 2 big dogs and 6 chickens and a kitten. We really need a strong helper or helpers in the next few weeks to help with an expandable tiny home which will be arriving shortly. Building experience would be amazing but not a must. We would appreciate helper who can help with odd jobs and gardening, and likes animals is a must. Other current projects are rebuilding chicken coop, painting, gardening, Queen sized bed suitable for single person or a couple. Look forward to hearing from you.

We are a cultural and arts community that is working towards being self-sustained. The community is situated in the mountains of Monchique, Portugal surrounded by nature. Our community provides an alternative way of living with permaculture gardens, farm animals, sustainability projects, and arts and cultural workshops. It is a great place to come to meet other like-minded people if you are passionate about sustainability and alternative living. We hold community meetings throughout the week alongside activities and workshops, such as quiz nights, dance nights and yoga classes. If you have something you are passionate about and want to share with others, we would love for you to run a workshop. One of the best things here is the variety of tasks you can do as a volunteer, which gives you the opportunity to learn new skills and discover what you enjoy doing most. We have a combination of short-term and long-term volunteers and on average we have between 10 to 20 volunteers and resident...

The H...
