The home has many period features, including wood panel wardrobes, bay windows and a number of fire places and two wood burners. Gardening, housework, light mechanical, a bit of hunting, all sorts of things, never boring.A wicked sense of humor is a good asset to bring. handy to Routeburn and Greenstone tracks. You will need your own internet connection as I don't supply wifi. A bit isolated, not for the precious, no trophy hunters!! Please don't apply unless you intend to come for a minimum stay of two weeks. One person only. We do not get involved with internships or visa applications. Vegetarians and vegans would probably not be comfortable as we eat meat daily. I am off grid and totally dependent on solar, so you have to charge your devices during the day and definitely no hairdryers! We farm sheep and beef in the heart of the Catlins, in Tawanui at the start of the popular Catlins river walk. The farm consists of sheep, cattle, four rideable horses and some coloured pet Gotland sheep along with an array of wild deer roaming the hill. Help will consist of some stock work, some fencing, maintenance of all sorts, gardening, firewood and general helping around the house. Always having fun and a good laugh as we work. We are a family run business operating an Oyster Farm on Moreton Island plus a retail shop on the property selling fresh seafood. We are happy to accept travellers and have had some wonderful experiences with wwoofers already. We offer accommodation and food in exchange for work. Accommodation is a studio apartment separate from the main house. We generally only pick up people on a Thursday or Friday from North Stradbroke Island in our boat. Duties include, building water infrastructure, making oyster bags, culling and sorting Oysters, general farm hand on the land base and grading of oyster. A working day normally starts at 8am and finishes around 2pm and breaks for morning tea and lunch of course. Most times on a Sunday we have to harvest oysters ready for work on Monday, but this only takes about 1 hour. Hello and welcome to my profile. We are in Central Otago, a region that is hot in summer and cold in winter. Our house is about half way between Wanaka and Cromwell, so no shops here! For that reason it is a necessity for helpers to have a vehicle to move around. We usually only take short term helpers, and the kind that are practical, mature and motivated, but depending on the work achieved we might want to extend the stay if there is a possibility. We expect 4 h of help work for each night per person. My advice is that helpers should bring snacks, and look after themselves for breakfast. We provide lunch and dinner, a comfortable bedroom and a facility to do a load of washing clothes. The work starts at 9am till 1pm that gives time to explore the region after lunch. Starting in June and continue through the summer and fall. We would like help inside and outside and with plenty of gardening and watering of the garden. Outdoor work includes keeping the gardens tidy, cutting and trimming of trees and mowing the lawn. Also the helper must be able to lift and haul fireplace wood and (ideally) know the use of a chain saw but not necessary. All these tasks we do together. Further work includes simple window washing, exterior window and door painting. Hi, we are currently looking for helpers for one week between the 27 September and 2nd October. Welcome to Dunedin, New Zealand! We have two double rooms available in our family home. We are a 15 hectare lifestyle block, with about 10 sheep, chickens, ducks, pet dog, and two cats.We both work full time in education. We have a lot of native bush on our land and planted forest blocks. Some small paddock areas. There are a lot of jobs we need help with!
