We live on a 5 acre hobby farm in the beautiful Huon Valley, Southern Tasmania. Our family consists of three young adult children (two live at home), two horses, many chickens, ducks, geese, goats and two gorgeous dogs. We grow organic vegetables and breed heritage chickens in an attempt to be more sustainable. Jobs involve general gardening, helping with the animals and housekeeping. There are many areas of natural beauty in Southern Tasmania which are all fairly close to us. For example, the Hartz mountains, Hastings Caves and the Tahune Airwalk. I'm Jun Liang, 61 years old. I grew up in rural old China with my gifted grandparents who were both healers and farmers. I moved to the US in 2005 with my US-born husband. We both have many years of organic farming experience. We bought an old abandoned farm in Midcoast Maine in 2020 and have worked every day since bringing it back to life. We built completely new infrastructure (there was nothing here except a 200 year old timber frame barn that we're restoring and turning into a beautiful barn house) and did all of it ourselves - installing power and internet, building a 30' X 72' solar and wood-heated greenhouse, sawing lumber from on-farm white pine for making a cabin for helpers, constructing a small barn for our Jerseys, and building a large workshop with apartment above for ourselves. You do not need any knowledge of horses but you do need to love dogs, they are a major part of the family and are constantly with us all 8 of them, dalmations, vizslas and 2 weimararners, and they do jump all over you. Constant appaloosas is a small holding where we breed and train horses for ourselves and occasionally others. Hi, my husband and I live in a beautiful area on a lifestyle farm with our four young kids. We are working on setting up a sustainable lifestyle and there's always something to do! We have beef cows, a milk cow, sheep, goats, chickens, a couple dogs and a producing greenhouse. Gardening, forestry We live in a small cottage on a friendly lake about 3 hours north of Toronto. We have the usual cottage toys available, canoe, small sailboat, row boat. Looking for help with selective cutting trees for firewood and lumber which we cut on our own small mill. Hopefully someone that is a better gardener than we are as we would like to start growing our own produce and maybe even get some chickens. Help with some construction and painting projects.
