We are in the process of renovating an old house in the Pyrenees. There is only decorating to do such as stripping paint of walls and woodwork, and repainting. There might be the occasional carpentry to do also, nothing too complicated. We need help 5 hours per day, five days per week. Weeding, pruning trees, making paths. We are looking for help from two strong and healthy individuals to assist with a house redecorating project and gardening, trimming trees, path making etc. This requires physical strength and stamina. PLEASE NOTE WELL: we absolutely cannot host anyone with any pre-existing health issues, physical or mental (we are not medically trained to manage such conditions), such as hay fever, any other allergies, sensitivities or intolerances. We live in a small village with some shops and a climbing centre and a river just opposite the house. We have a quite a size garden where we grow vegetables, fruit bushes and trees. Here, we have spectacular mountain views on our do...

We are a cultural and arts community that is working towards being self-sustained. The community is situated in the mountains of Monchique, Portugal surrounded by nature. Our community provides an alternative way of living with permaculture gardens, farm animals, sustainability projects, and arts and cultural workshops. It is a great place to come to meet other like-minded people if you are passionate about sustainability and alternative living. We hold community meetings throughout the week alongside activities and workshops, such as quiz nights, dance nights and yoga classes. If you have something you are passionate about and want to share with others, we would love for you to run a workshop. One of the best things here is the variety of tasks you can do as a volunteer, which gives you the opportunity to learn new skills and discover what you enjoy doing most. We have a combination of short-term and long-term volunteers and on average we have between 10 to 20 volunteers and resident...

I live with my adult son in a rural area 20 minutes from the Wellington CBD. I have other family members living nearby. A daughter, son in law and two teenage grand-daughters. They live on a lifestyle property and my property is a large section backing onto native bush, in a rural setting. We are used to hosting people because I used to have Japanese students billeted with me a few years ago. There is no bus service where we are but about 8 minutes over the hill is a large suburban area called Karori which does have a bus service and shops, a library, public swimming pool and other amenities. I would be prepared to drop a guest over the hill to the bus if they didn't have their own transport. About 20 minutes by car, from my house, you are in the Wellington CBD with all the amenities the city offers. I am a retired school teacher. I am active in my local community and do voluntary work. One of the things my family are passionate about is the environment and we all belong to a riparian...

I'm Thanasis, a 45 years old greek man living in the South of the Peloponnes. I'm a farmer, with oranges trees and some olive trees. I also have a shop, mainly selling coffee that I roast on site. I need help all the year to maintain the big farm (orange and olive harvest, trees pruning, pick-up fallen oranges, and so on..) If you come, you will have your own room (1 for a couple or separate), and access to all the rest of the house (kitchen, bathroom...). I like to share the meal, and provide food if you want to cook. You also can use WI-FI connection. You could enjoy the life between the farm and the city of Skala Lakonia, wich offer a lot of coffee shop, restaurants, and any kind of stores. Minimum stay is 2 weeks, to allow time to learn about life on the farm. I need help for a maximum of 5 hours per day, 5 days per week, depending on the weather. I really like to meet new people and introduce them to Greece history. I practice karaté (three times per week) and would be happy t...

I can't see the world, but the world can come see me. First and foremost, I want to thank all the helpers who came from United Kingdom-England, France, Belgium, Italy, China, Japan, Australia and New Zealand. Welcome Helpers. We are a family of 5 living in the Appalachian Mountains of West Virginia. Sue is the founder of this place. Her daughter Ruth moved to the Hollow later as well as her husband Tim and their 2 daughters. Our hollow is quite with no neighbors in sight. There are no city lights, and you can see every star on a clear night! Our homestead consists of Sue's workshop/cabin, Tim & Ruth's cabin and one very small guest cabin. Also, there is a private guestroom with private entrance on the second floor above the workshop/cabin combination. . We have a lot you can be involved in, knowledge to share, friendships to build, and opportunities for growth. Below are our routines and some projects. We would love to involve you! - Caring for our honey bees, chickens, cats...

We are Jean and Laurence, born in 1965, with two daughters (born in 1993 and 1995 and gone from home - most of the time now). You will find references about us, as couch-surfer and BeWelcome hosts, see our website links above. We were part of the couch-surfing network since 2007 and we like it very much, but moved to BeWelcome when couchsurfing became commercial ! We are french, good English speakers, poor Spanish speakers. In 2004, we bought a country house in the Pyrenees. We live and work in Aix-en-Provence, but we spend most of our holiday time in this house, doing usually the following activities : - repairing the house - taking care of the garden - hiking, running, cycling, swimming in the St Pée d'Ardet little lake or Garona river, cooking, reading, participating to the life of the village ... The house is situated in a village named Galie, near the banks of the Garonne river. The beautiful Pyrenees are all around, and Spain is very close. We would like to share our holiday...

We are looking for helpers from right now and have space for up tor two people. We have three small cabins, two with double beds and one with a single bed so room for up to five helpers normally but only room for two at the moment as we still have international surf coaches staying. All the helpers share a kitchen and bathroom. From now end of June we need help with some building work so preference will be given to people who already have some skills with tools.. We are a great place to start or end your time in New Zealand as we are only 45 minutes drive from Auckland airport. The work will be varied and interesting but usually building and garden based. It could include finishing off an underground earth bag hobbit hole. We have a passion for earth building and organic gardening. Its good if you are over the age of 20, are self motivated and can work unsupervised. We are located on Auckland's beautiful West Coast only 40mins drive from Auckland central city. We live in a fun share house in Maryborough, Marry Poppins Town, with awesome meals and a big edible garden. We're Mars, the owner of the property and former owner of multiple language schools and Tracy, a former theatre/restaurant owner who's cooking the most awesome meals and looking after everyone like a mum. There're 2 adorable dogs in the family, so you must be a dog lover. Also 6 chicken and 2 ducks, so we always have fresh eggs. We need help with building and creating, and with an awesome edible garden. We're about to put 12v solar power into the rooms, also natural air-conditioning and are finishing up the spa bath in the 2nd bathroom... so there's a bit for you to learn and lots of knowledge to take home. We like to work with fun, laughter, music and love to see you letting a bit of your craziness out. Be yourself and join the family... We have had many awesome experiences with travellers so far 😃. Please note that there's a minimum of 1 week stay, we do not like to ...

Hello Travelers, my home is in the Town Parry Sound, about 2 hours north of Toronto by car, or 3 hours by the Ontario Northland or Flicks buses. If you have a vehicle, parking is available. Alternatively you can try to find a "ride-share" and I will pick you up at a drop off spot or at the bus stops. We can talk by video call and I will provide a tour of the guest room and property by whatsapp video. Georgian Bay is a UNESCO wildlife reserve and is the home of many endangered species. For more information visit; http://www.parktoparktrail.com (an amazing trail connecting Parry Sound to Algonquin Park). Normally an exchange involves 20 hours a week and you have a private room and 3 meals/day. I provide ingredients and we share preparation and clean up. Helpers keep track of their hours and we negotiate a reasonable schedule, depending on the weather and events in the town. There is a pleasant, sparkling clean guest room, with a double bed. The house is on a 1/2 acre wooded lot...

(Note for U4U applicants -- we cannot sponsor any refugees from Ukraine at this time, but we are happy to host you if someone else can sponsor you.) ~Our Place~ We live on a beautiful piece of land in rural Texas, full of lush green hills, towering pines, oak savannahs, and wild animals, about 1 hour's drive from Austin. Our goal is to build a community out here, starting from our extended family and friend group and beyond. We've traveled the world volunteering, hitchhiking, Couchsurfing, playing music in bands, farming, building, protesting, yogaing, truck-driving, teaching... all kinds of things. Now, we're trying to restore this piece of land to a more balanced state and to build a home, a farm, an apiary, a studio... We want this to be a place that fosters creativity, closeness to nature, silence, loudness, peace, chaos, etc.! And we've hosted volunteers from Colombia, Iran, Canada, China, Mexico, Iraq, USA, Korea, Spain, Bulgaria, Brazil, Denmark, Zimbabwe, Japan, France, Germ...

2 Small farms turned into the one near the West Coast of Clare. We keep lots of farm animals like cattle, horses, donkeys and sheep. We produce a wide range of vegetables for ourselves and some for selling. We have two children, went to primary Steiner/ Waldorf school; Frank (25) and Fina(21) and they love having volunteers around the place. Fina is doing equine studies and Frank studies horticulture and loves travelling. We hope you have the ability to adapt to our for most of you different and simple life-style and enjoy farmwork with irregular hours at times, and you will get a true sense of farming life-style! It is important to realise beforehand that you are a volunteer who gets the opportunity to join into our family home/life so please do not compare with a regular paid job.. Most important is that you are happy and enjoy your stay with us... We offer healthy food, wonderful sunsets and rainbows, some Irish traditional music, and the possibility to learn more about old style f...

Nestled in the coastal range of Mendocino County, California (about 45 minutes Northwest of Ukiah where the weather is more pleasant) we are establishing a small farm and wildlife sanctuary.  Based on principles of sustainability & permaculture our expanding ridge top garden and orchards consist of a variety of fruits, veggies, herbs and flowers.  Aside from garden and orchard tasks additional projects may include gathering seaweed and other native wild foods, cooking, canning, fermenting foods, making herbal preparations, habitat restoration, brush and trail clearing, small scale green building and learning how to build and maintain an off-grid infrastructure and solar system. Please read all of our information before contacting us. We require a one month minimum stay, and currently we have space beginning July 1st. Our homestead is remote and therefore not for everyone. We prefer those who want to unplug and enjoy the serenity of a mountain forest. If you are open minded, love t...

Hello and welcome to our profile :). If you are reading this and are interested in helping out please do get in touch. Our limited places get booked up very quickly - especially during the summer months. If you are not available until later on and would like to reserve a place with us please drop us a message and we will chat and try and save your preferred dates. Ideally, a minimum commitment of at least one month is necessary. It takes about 2 weeks to settle in and learn things plus shorter stays do not allow you to fully appreciate all that is on offer in our beautiful area. In the past we have many volunteers who regretted not being able to stay longer. This is the beating heart of the Scottish West Highlands - take time to breathe and enjoy it. Katie and I own a small 'crofting' home in a tiny village called Lochailort and we need help all year round. A reasonably good understanding of the English language is necessary. This location is not ideal for improving or learning E...

Hi, we are a family that lives in the south of Italy in the beautiful region of Puglia; in the countryside but not too far from the sea. We have a family-run business in the Cisternino countryside, with holiday homes for tourists, riding stables and recreational activities. Looking for a person who can help in various activities; really interested in the life of the campaign and learning different tasks such as: carpentry, wrought iron, construction, painting, maintenance of the garden and agriculture, but also request for help in the relationship and management of tourists who stay with us. Excellent opportunity for those looking for complete experiences in the field of crafts and tourism and in the relationship with nature and animals. Having 4 children already, we only look for completely independent and flexible people. Musicians and artists in general are welcome (Juan the owner is also a musician). There is a chance to learn how to work wood and iron and many other things. It's ...

Hello there, I'm looking for travellers, nature lovers, people interested in permaculture and a different way of living. I'm Erik, class '88, I live in northern Italy where I've been building a permaculture project for the last few years. I've always been a dreamer, a wanderer seeking adventure and a deeper connection with Nature. After few years of working and travelling the world I decided to start this other journey here 1,5 hours drive from my birth place. As a sensitive person, Healing is a good portion of what drove this life choice into being, as I find it more gentle and sustainable for ourselves and the environment. On a more practical note, the land for now is taken care of for self sufficiency and not as a businness. I can offer food and accomodation in exchange of 3/4 hours of work, 5 days a week.. Most jobs are to do with the garden and the orchard, from planting out vegetables, tree planting, weeding, spreading compost, wood chipping, mulching, all depending on the tim...

Welcome! Our family owned and operated certified organic livestock farm in North Central British Columbia is excited to have you stay and become a part of everything we have going on. We’ve been operating since 2008, primarily raising Berkshire pigs, Dexter cattle, Katahdin sheep, laying hens, broiler chickens and of course bronze breasted turkeys for thanksgiving and Christmas. On top of that, we’re home to two Labrador retrievers (Ned and Nelly), 3 outdoor cats, 2 guard alpacas and a family of Muscovy ducks. In other words, you will never find yourself not in the company of animals! Aside from livestock, we have recently built a small farm store / café that cooks the meat raised on the farm. We also take pride in creating all recipes from scratch, from the sauces to the buns of the burgers. Currently only operating during the summer months, 3 days per week. It’s been a lot of work, but a great way to get more people out to the farm, eating good food and connecting with the community...

⭐️ About our project⭐️ We are a small community school located in Tnol Trong Village, just 13km away from Siem Reap, Cambodia. The school is a registered non-profit NGO, founded in February 2013 by my lovely family. Cambodia is seeing a strong growth in the tourism industry, which will provide an increasing number of employment opportunities in the future, especially for the children around the Siem Reap area and for a career in tourism, English is essential. That’s why our school has one clear goal: to give children from disadvantaged backgrounds free access to English and Chinese education, helping them gain a real chance to access future job opportunities. Our school currently offers FREE English lessons to nearly 180 children from the Bakong community. Many of the local families struggle with basic needs like food, water and health related costs, let alone getting the kids to attend class, afford mandatory school fees and uniforms. Education is often their only real chance to b...

Hi! We’re Carlos and Verónica, siblings and founders of an educational project in Santo Domingo, Ecuador. We created this initiative to help people aged 12 and above learn English, giving them the tools to expand their academic and professional opportunities. Our team is growing, and we need volunteers like you to support our students, especially by practising conversation and improving their pronunciation. Volunteering at our learning centre is a chance not only to make a real difference in our students’ lives, but also to join a community that believes in education as a force for change.

Hello. Before you read anything else, I simply want to say thank you. Thank you to the helpx team for creating this beautiful platform. It has changed my life in ways I never imagined. For the past 10 years, I have had the privilege of hosting incredible people from all over the world here. Every volunteer has left something behind—not just their work, but their stories, ideas, skills, cultures, laughter, and friendships. Together, we have built much more than a farm; we have created a learning community where everyone teaches, everyone learns, and everyone grows. And thank you for taking the time to read my profile. Perhaps you're just curious, or perhaps you're already thinking about visiting. Either way, I truly appreciate your time. If our paths cross, I hope you won't come here only as a volunteer. I hope you'll come as a friend, ready to share your knowledge, learn new skills, experience a simple life close to nature, and create memories that will stay with you long after you lea...

We are a small family seasonal business and run a passenger boat and a gift shop. In the winter there is work to do maintaining the boats and in the summer gardening, outdoor maintenance as well as help with cooking and housework. We also need a bit of help in the gift shop which is an information point for the boat trips so you need to be fairly fluent in English, and sometimes need help with the boats. You would stay with us as one of the family, in your own double en suite room. (no smoking please). We expect helpers to be able to use their own initiative and be able to see what needs doing. I don’t want to have to keep asking you to do things /tidy up etc 😉 Lots of opportunities for trips out on one of the boats. The village we stay in is near the Isle of Skye and has a great atmosphere, it is very friendly with two local pubs which have traditional music evenings. The village is on the loch, has a sailing club & good for water sports. We have canoes you can use and helpers ...

I live with my 6 dogs on a lovely farm in Ballynacally, 15km from Ennis town. It is a full working farm on ca.80 acres. I breed different types of sheep, and cattle. I also have 7 Irish Draft horses, which could be ridden if the person has enough experience. Help is needed with the maintenance of the farm e.g. light gardening, cleaning and general upkeep of the place. Also of course helping with the Horses, Cattle and Sheep. If you fancy seeing the Cattle mart, having nice party's, learning about farming and meeting random people and if you are a humorous, happy, independent person I will be glad to have you stay at my place. Accommodation is in a small apartment with kitchen and bathroom. Heating is provided by a wood burning stove. The apartment has character, is colorful with some musical instruments. Even though there is a small kitchen in the apartment I do prefer to take meals with the helpers who stay here. And if you would like to cook some specialty from your region I will b...

A room is available for your homestay. Because of the help I would like to ask, mature ladies who have enough experience/knowledge of handling house holding chores and cooking are welcome. No problem if you cannot cook Japanese dishes. Vegetarian is welcome only from summer to autumn. We can easily talk about next step of your homestay if how long from when, how you can help, what you want to do during homestay in addition to help works are written in your request. I will reply to only applicants who read my profile and understand/satisfy requirements. It's becoming difficult to afford free meals to helpers because of rapid and continuous economic inflation, especially foods under the COVID pandemic, wars and Japanese currency depreciation. From July 2026, you are asked to share cost of meals during homestay. Amount may be 40000 to 50000 Yens per month, depending on your cooking skill. I'm a 67 years old male living alone and have a small private organic vegetable garden. I am...

WELCOME to the Human Rewilding Project. We are young married couple coming from very different cultures and upbringings. We are living our dream of experiencing what it means to be alive as a proper human being. And that on our own land in one of the most beautiful and wild corners of Scotland. We aspire to become self sufficient in all we need for a happy and healthy life. Our house and the main parts of the croft lie on a hill with a breathtaking view onto Oldshoremore Beach. The view from our living room or from the garden invite for frequent moments of still admiration and gratitude. Alexa grew up on a Finca in the jungle of Costa Rica within her tribe, the Boruca. She was born into a lineage of healers and understands deeply the ways of plants and other beings. She learned from her elders about natural health, herbal remedies and energy work. One of her many missions is to pass on her shamanic knowledge and thus keeping alive her indigenous heritage. But the most important one...

We are looking for help from two strong and healthy individuals to assist with a house redecorating project and gardening, trimming trees, path making etc. This requires physical strength and stamina.

We operate Muriwai s...
