Attention!! Please read careful this before you write me. I am so tired of people writing me with all the enthusiasm requesting to come, very often I don't when get I answer back. I assume who ever you are, you are applying to different places at the same time, that's ok, but if you plan to write me, answer since it was you who initiated the conversation, don't make me loose my time and energy, we are people communicating, not platforms that you can simply ignore when you request a place and find something else, for me this is important and already an essential way of I want to welcome people in my house. Lets humanize the conversations please, even if is to say no. NOW: I’m inviting a creative and open-minded person to share up to 2 weeks of artistic life in the countryside, just 30 minutes by bike from Amsterdam centre. This is an exchange based around creativity, inspiration and shared experiences: spending time in the atelier making costumes and artistic pieces (from easy ...

We live in the beautiful Scottish Borders in the countryside near the small town of Duns, 40 miles south of Edinburgh. We require help renovating our maisonette in another small town around 35 miles away - also in the Scottish Borders. The maisonette is a two-storey quite small but spacious house, above a bakery which won the best bakery in Scotland in 2023. Different jobs need doing, from helping to make new floors for the bedrooms to painting and decorating, fitting new doors, plastering, perhaps helping to renovate a kitchen. and bathrooms. You would be staying in a very beautiful county, with time to travel and explore the Scottish Highlands and Islands with a base to come back to in order to continue working intermittently with us on the maisonette. We are a family of five, with two sons aged 20+ who would be working with my husband and I on the property. As the bedrooms are completed, there may be an opportunity for you to then make the maisonette your base, rather than sta...

Kia ora, travellers! Haere mai - welcome to my whare (home) in beautiful Honeymoon Valley, surrounded by native rainforest, birds and insects. Autonomy for everyone, especially for you and us at mealtime ... Resources are shared according to the availability of the moment. More possibilities if my children are not there, less if I have other guests ... fortuitous ... In the meantime we have no shortage of space in the garden to let you plant your tent or you lend a space... This is the minimum we can guarantee. A cabin is also available on the family sailboat ... Here too, there is work ... The room with double bed of the house is not often free for our helper sometimes the chance does things well, ask what you want, we are in French Polynesia climate is stable all year ;-) We will not ask for more than 2 or 3 hours of help a day in exchange we plan to lodge without food, although fruits from the garden are still part of the tradition of sharing the house... It's up to you to do your shopping and your dish washing and cleaning up after, the load will be in our situation not equitable otherwise.

*French version below* Hi y'all Ben and Claudie here! We're a little family (Ben, Claudie, lil' Lilith and the two cats Pirate and Tipanda) living the good life in beautiful Gaspé. We raise rabbits, chickens, ducks, turkeys, geese and goats, we grow a little garden, plus hay for feed. We also have a large forested area on our plot, where we gather fiddleheads in the spring, a variety of mushrooms during the summer, and tons of apples in the fall. We also do some lumbering for various building projects and heating. Additionally, we grow most our vegetables and fruits with friends in a shared commercial greenhouse. Living near the coastline, fishing bass and maquerel is also something we do from July to September. We like getting our hands dirty, we believe in hard work and mutual aid, we like the outdoors, but we were also anxious about what the future holds. Following in the footsteps of countless people before us, we figured growing our own food and limiting our reliance on unsust...

One thing I can advise helpers who want to get a placement with any host is to have at least one PICTURE of YOURSELF. Just as you like to "see" who and where you are coming, hosts like to see who they are opening their home to. It's going into Summer now, so we need lots of outdoor help getting the property and garden cleaned up after such a long and hard winter. I need someone right away to help with small handyman jobs or selling online eg: eBay, marketplace etc. Knowledge of Carpentry and Plumbing are always appreciated. Car mechanics are always helpful. I would really appreciate someone who can do handyman jobs and wants to come for a week or two. I sell things online and on eBay and would love someone who is good at online selling in English. I have a large house and property in a diverse area of Staten Island, New York that I`m always working on. I plant a vegetable garden in the spring using the square foot gardening method. A friend and I rebuilt the whole house on the i...

We are Pascale, Guy and our daughter Fanette. We live in a tiny village in the beautiful valley of Ubaye, in the Alpes de Haute Provence. We got four horses and two cats who are like family to us. There's a garden, and our daughter runs a 1 hectare arboretum (botanic garden) and squirel park open to public during summer time, where visitors can explore the forest and discover land art. If you are fond of nature, fishing, hiking, kayaking, contemplation, animals and open spaces, this touristic spot is made for you! We would be glad to teach you French and help you with your adventure projects. The house is a bit far from the main city Barcelonnette but we can give you a lift if you need as we go there every day. Close to the village is a bistrot/ pub where they regularly play live music. There are lakes and rivers too where you can enjoy a sunbath. After an intense house renovation, we are now entering the final phase, focusing on cleaning and refreshing the house. From APRIL (for about one month), we are looking for help with PAINTING work inside and outside, as well as some light gardening tasks such as weeding. This period is ideal for someone who enjoys practical, hands-on work and likes to see visible results at the end of the day. From JUNE onwards, as the weather becomes warmer, the help will mainly consist of daily HOUSEKEEPING tasks (cleaning, ironing), with occasionally some light gardening. We’ve found that this experience works best for people who enjoy staying active and contributing in a practical way to daily life. We truly appreciate volunteers who bring positive energy, a hands-on mindset, and a genuine willingness to help. We are a Belgian family who has been living in France for over 20 years. In our late fifties, we speak French, Dutch, English, and a bit of Spanish. Our home is located in the beautiful r...

Animal Rescue and Sanctuary and Organic Vegan Farm in Central Costa Rica Hello everyone! What we do: We take care of animals, we grow organic food, we prepare and eat tasty vegan meals, we minimize our impact on the earth, and we enjoy the company of our Costa Rican friends and neighbors. We have run a volunteer program for over 18 years, and have had several hundred people come to work with us! Our farm is primarily an animal rescue, rehab and sanctuary. Our doors are open to animals in need. We currently have five rescue dogs, five goats, a pig, a horse, one cat, and two water buffalos. Some came off the streets, some were abandoned, others were injured and no longer wanted. We adopt out what we can, but most are retired and happy to live their lives on the farm. The 3.5 hectare property is covered with many tropical fruit trees, including water apple, mandarin orange, banana (many varieties), guayaba, guanabana, cas, caimito, lime, nance, coffee and araza. Depending on the se...

Hello Potential Volunteers My name is Paul and it was my dream to change my lifestyle from being an office worker to becoming an alpaca farmer.... here we are 14 years later with 100 alpacas, each individually cherishes with names and unique personalities, plus an assortment of other animals all needing our love :) I have three children: Liam (21), Dylan (9) and Oscar (6), and our 100-acre farm is home to approx.100 alpacas, plus llamas, peacocks, hens, mini pigs, a cat named Sexy, and our farm dog Malta. This year we are expecting 20 'cria' (baby alpacas) and each one will need our help so they can thrive! We need to ensure they get colostrum (filled with antibodies and vital for good health) – have they fed from their mums within the first 24hrs? Are they then drinking enough milk from their mums every day? Are they gaining weight? The well-being of my animals is the most important thing on the farm. Do they have good food and enough water, and the best possible natural environme...

We purchased this beautiful château in the Loire Valley in 2013 and with HelpXers like yourself, we worked tirelessly to renovate it, taking it from its dilapidated state to the current splendour of a modern 21st century castle. There is still a large space to renovate, as well as finishing touches all around the château, so we get excited if you have trade skills to offer. We are keen to invite interested people here for longer periods of time. We ask ideally a minimum stay of two weeks with us, but longer periods are possible to the suitable people. We love positive enthusiastic people, who enjoy all that life offers and can share that energy with those around them. If you like working in the garden or have general handyman skills... we would love to hear from you. We would also love a stonemason to join us, as we always have a few stone walls to repair. And if you have experience working behind the bar or preparing breakfasts, then that works for us too, over the summer per...

We require help renovating our maisonette in another small town around 35 miles away - also in the Scottish Borders. We are in the process of renovating an old house in the Pyrenees. There is only decorating to do such as stripping paint of walls and woodwork, and repainting. There might be the occasional carpentry to do also, nothing too complicated. We need help 5 hours per day, five days per week. Weeding, pruning trees, making paths. We are looking for help from two strong and healthy individuals to assist with a house redecorating project and gardening, trimming trees, path making etc. This requires physical strength and stamina. PLEASE NOTE WELL: we absolutely cannot host anyone with any pre-existing health issues, physical or mental (we are not medically trained to manage such conditions), such as hay fever, any other allergies, sensitivities or intolerances. We live in a small village with some shops and a climbing centre and a river just opposite the house. We have a quite a size garden where we grow vegetables, fruit bushes and trees. Here, we have spectacular mountain views on our do...

We are a Portuguese couple with experience on permaculture and self-sufficient-living that in 2015 got 15ha of abundant land in a beautiful valley and an amazing community at the highest mountains inside the biggest natural park of our country. Rita is a health-food enthusiast and loves to work with different kinds of art-craft. She likes to explore Medicinal plants, Food preservation and fermentation, Hygiene products and teaching Forest School. Walking in the nature, singing with friends and doing yoga are some of the other things she enjoys. Gonçalo is a nature lover with a passion for Permaculture and Natural Farming. Studied Organic Agronomy and has been practicing it since 2008, with the help of volunteers, interns and apprentices. He enjoys sharing and to make music with friends. Unfortunately in 2017 a massive fire went over this beautiful valley but our yurts didnt burn and all the animals survived, in the same year we were blessed with our first home-birth daughter Dana....
