We grow organic table grapes, a few fruit trees, chickens and a few pigs. This is a real farm experience, mostly working in the vineyard, with some fun too. I'm located 16km South of Te Puke on a property that has a back boundary of native forest. I'm usually able to host people at any time of year, but am busiest in the spring. I currently have building projects happening, as well as lots of painting, waxing new bee frames, and also hands on beekeeping for anyone who is keen. I also keep sheep and cattle on the property here, and hunt deer and pigs in the forest. These grass and forest fed animals form a large part of the menu here, so vegetarians probably won`t be happy with the diet. I cater to lots of herbivores and they all have hooves or paws. The accommodation is a spare room in the house. The house is a late 1800s villa in need of replacement, but it keeps the weather out and I find it comfortable. Hi, we have a beautiful room available under our elevated house for occasional short stay helpers. It has a double bed and sofa bed so can comfortably fit one or two people or a couple. It looks over the swimming pool and has A/C and its own verandah area. There is an outdoor shower and downstairs toilet. If you'd like to cook at home you can use our kitchen upstairs or we can set up a camp kitchen. We are looking for helpers to do around 2.5 hours of work a day around the house and garden, e.g cleaning, organising, gardening, fixing the garden watering system and cooking. After managing hostel and B&B for 20 years I've just starter a new project. I bought a new house (currently under construction) and a piece of land (approximately 28000 m2) in order to make my home and kind of permaculture community so there are still many things to do. For now volunteers would be housed in the small wooden house in the picture which has a double bed , wardrobe and kitchenette, there is no bathroom but you can use the tiny house for toilette and any electricity use. I just started to make a food forest and also many veggie garden and I would like to enlarge it in order to increase the number of grown plants. The help would mainly consists of land maintenance (cleaning, farming, fruit harvesting, planting trees, construction and refurbishment of infrastructure, irrigationetc.) but there will be also time for various briefings (e.g. how to graft and prune trees) and fun. Hello my name is Craig and I have an orchard just outside of Motueka. This is a 4 hectare property located at the north end of Tasman, a ten minute drive to the Abel Tasman walk and the beautiful beaches that surround this area. Here I grow cherries, apricots, plums, peaches, nectarines, apples and pears. Nearly always need help or if you are interested in growing food then let me know and I will see what I am up too. It`s been over 10 years now that we are participating in programs like this. We never get tired of new people staying and having strangers turning into friends. Also our neighbors and others in the village enjoy the exchange. They are always up for a small talk, which is great for you to practice your German! About us: We have organic breed Wagyu Beef (the most expensive meat in the world). There are 3 Horses, gooses, Chicken, sheep and a bunch of Cats that are also part of the Farm. We also grow all sort of crops. Either to feed our animals or to sell them. We also grow apples, plums, pears, potatoes and many other things that grow in a garden. There is never a time during summer where u can not just go outside and eat something straight from where it grows.. Ruesselhausen is a small village. Just perfect to be in the nature. Summer openings for some of August Wow, exploring right outside our backdoor along side the Campbell River on Vancouver Island, is a beautiful place to experience Vancouver Island`s great outdoors this SUMMER with all the wild life right in our back yard :) Although we live on a one acre town lot, our back yard is situated on a cliff over looking an accessible beautiful heritage river, with a nature park setting of ferns, Douglas fir, maple and alder trees. You can often see deer, raccoons, bears and the silver backs of salmon and Steelhead fish jumping in the ebb and flow of the river’s pools. We have trail access to the river below, where you can enjoy listening to the sing song of many birds, tubing down the river/swimming in the heat of the summer, and trying your hand at casting for Steelhead fish.
