We purchased this beautiful château in the Loire Valley in 2013 and with HelpXers like yourself, we worked tirelessly to renovate it, taking it from its dilapidated state to the current splendour of a modern 21st century castle. There is still a large space to renovate, as well as finishing touches all around the château, so we get excited if you have trade skills to offer. We have availability for you throughout the year from May through to October, and are keen to book interested people, like yourself, in for longer periods anytime over that period. We ask a minimum stay of two weeks with us, but longer periods are a big bonus. We love positive enthusiastic people who enjoy all that life offers and can share that energy with those around them. If you like working in the garden or have general handyman skills...we would love to hear from you. We would also love a stonemason to join us, as we always have a few stone walls to repair. And if you have experience working behind th...

We need friendly volunteers to join us with cooking, cleaning, gardening, and everyday tasks — no experience needed, just a good attitude and willingness to muck in.We are looking for helpers between the ages of 18 to 32. We are a small community of friends working towards a better life in a beautiful part of rural Devon, in the Tamar River Valley Estuary where you will make friends for life. In exchange for your friendship while you are staying here we will endeavour to teach you new skills that will carry you through life. A small farm in a beautiful location! Our farm and home probably date back to pre 1660's, with many additions since. It has been left to go wild for the last 40 years. The river has otters, seals, beavers, salmon, sea trout, and sea bass. With buzzards and owls overhead. There are deer in the surro...

Update, possible accommodation available for kiwifruit staff. My caravan is available, not fancy but clean & waterproof. I'm a beekeeper in need of assistance, either with the bees directly or not. I'm located 16km South of Te Puke on a property that has a back boundary of native forest. I'm usually able to host people at any time of year, but am busiest in the spring. I currently have building projects happening, as well as lots of painting, waxing new bee frames, and also hands on beekeeping for anyone who is keen. I also keep sheep and cattle on the property here, and hunt deer and pigs in the forest. These grass and forest fed animals form a large part of the menu here, so vegetarians probably won`t be happy with the diet. I cater to lots of herbivores and they all have hooves or paws. The accommodation is a spare room in the house. The house is a late 1800s villa in need of replacement, but it keeps the weather out and I find it comfortable. Housework isn't high on my priority ...

This is a horse ranch in the Alberta foothills. I raise, train and sell registered quarter horses. I have been raising registered AQHA cow horses for about 40 years. I need people who can ride horses and make them safe for beginner riders. You would catch, saddle and ride several horses each day. I would love to take everyone to every local rodeo. There are rooms in my home as well as an old house that is shared accommodation for riders.

Looking for a lovely volunteer to join us and our animals. AVAILABILITY FROM the middle of May. Please contact us if you are interested in helping look after our wonderful animals. Greetings from Lijiang! Teach English & Explore Yunnan adventure with us! 🏔️ Accommodation and meals for free provided. Hello to all kind and beautiful souls around the world! 👋 Warm greetings from the mountains of Lijiang, Yunnan! ☀️ My name is Linda, I am 39 years old Mom of 2 girls , originally from Chongqing. I married into a local minority family here because I fell deeply in love with the rich culture and warm hearts of the ethnic minority people. ❤️ 🌱 Why I am here? As a mother of two lovely children, I see the limitations these children face. While they are brilliant and hardworking, their lack of English opportunity isolates them from the wider world. 🌍 Language is the bridge to the future. That is why I am dedicated to bringing free English education to the local primary and middle schools here. 📍 Our Location (Prime Spot!): 📍 Perfectly Located: We are just 1 km outside Lijiang Ancient Town. 🚶 Walking Distance: 1 min walk to the bus stop. 3 mins walk to the biggest Wet...

We are both retired and live in a converted barn in about two acres of land. The nearest town is Villefranche de Rouergue which is ten kilometres away. We have lived in France long enough to appreciate what we call proper food so. we strive to vary the diet so that no main meal is repeated for at least 14 days (unless specially requested) It may be French, it may be British, or it may be a mixture of French and British and on occasions you will taste the local delicacies We are very flexible about working hours all we ask is that in return for five hours work per day, five days a week, at a time to suit yourself, we will provide you with good healthy tasty food and a private comfortable room which has TV and en-suite facilities, If you are a couple who wish complete privacy, we could provide you with a separate self-contained apartment. Must be non-smoker and we find that feeding vegans is difficult. Please note. If you want to practice your English, then we are your ideal hosts a...

Hi, my name is Sylvia and I'm Dutch. After having lived for the majority of my life in cities I wanted to roam around with Helpx, so I did. However, I fell in love with the first place where I stayed, many years ago. A very small rural village in Bavaria, Germany, at the Czech border. I rented the huge house and intend to stay here, with my little dog, for the rest of my life. It’s a beautiful hilly area and the forests invite for long walks in which you may spot deer, lynxes, boars and other animals. Public transport ends in Weiden (train) or Lohma (bus), but I have a car, can pick you up and drop you off. Plenty to see within reasonable distance like Nuremberg, Regensburg, Munich, and Prague. Ski and snowboard centre at 7 km distance and lots of others a bit further away. In the holiday season, Christmas markets can be found everywhere. You will have your own room (with WIFI) and a shared bathroom, and you are welcome to the rest of the house too. I‘ll try to cook for you what you...

Hello HelpXers, We have a 5 acre farm, 300 metres from Ruby Bay beach. Ruby Bay is conveniently between Nelson and Abel Tasman National Park. We have a beautiful established garden, vegetable plot and orchard. We also raise chickens, Khaki Campell ducks and a few sheep. We also have two beautiful riding horses and three dogs - 2 Hungarian Vizslas and a Border Terrier. Our 4 bedroom farmhouse is comfortable and cosy and has beautiful views out to the ocean. We both work full-time, so are looking for help with gardening, animal husbandry, firewood, cleaning and various other odd jobs as the seasons dictate. We are able to be flexible about helping hours, normally 4 hours per day. In return we are able to provide a pleasant environment to stay, your own room, 3 meals per day, WiFi and offer horse riding for experienced horse riders. We have our own private arena and often attend horse shows. Happy if you want to send a text message and we can discuss further. Take care, regards Irene ...

This is a unique opportunity to live in a museum! I am the curator and caretaker of an historic homestead built between 1862-1880, located within extensive gardens. Part of the house now functions as a museum. The property is in a rural setting at Greenough - just off the Brand Hwy- 19 kms south of Geraldton and 400km north of Perth. This place can seem isolated if you do not have a car. However, I do have a bicycle available, and I take helpers into Geraldton at least once a week, and to community events, as well as showing you local attractions. I have planted fruit trees and established an organic vegetable garden. Helpers must like animals as I have a dog. The property is close to isolated stretches of beach, bushland and other tourist attractions. Work includes gardening, cooking, cleaning, art projects, translating, helping keep the museum open, minor property maintenance, etc. Only have accommodation for one person at a time and prefer non-smoking helpers over 30 who are ...

Hi, I’m Toby, 48, from the UK. I am slowly bringing back to life a beautiful old French farm property in the Dordogne. It was previously renovated into a 16-bedroom hotel back in 1990 and sits in peaceful rural countryside, surrounded by sunshine, wildlife, vineyards and quiet country views. The house is in the French wine region between Bergerac and Saint-Émilion, around 60 km from Bordeaux and just a few kilometres from Sainte-Foy-la-Grande train station. At the moment I am working on site mostly on my own while my family is back in the UK. Replacing windows, protecting the house from the weather and keeping the garden under control has become a lot of work, so I would really appreciate some friendly help. I used HelpX once before and had a good experience, so I thought I would try again this year. The kind of help I need: The work is not usually very technical or heavy. It would mostly be practical jobs around the house and garden, such as: - clearing and organising rooms - ...

Tena koe, nau mai, haramai ki Tokomaru Bay, a small, predominately Maori seaside community on the East Coast. We live on a four acre lifestyle block in the peaceful Kaiawha Valley about a two minute drive from the village and the beach. There is a 4 Square Supermarket, a cafe and a tavern in the village. We have a room with a queen bed in a sleep out, with helpers own separate lounge/kitchenette. Access to washing machine. The bathroom is inside the main house located a few metres away. Most of the work we require is gardening, landscaping, milking cow, feeding animals, preserving food, servicing our Bed and Breakfast (List 1 Historic Places building) firewood, weed eating, mowing and general maintenance. Jan is a teacher and does some casual relieving and Bill works from home developing Te Reo Maori learning resources for our local tribe and teaches Te Reo Maori one day a week. Both of us are involved in our community, at the marae and other activities. We think 'whanau' s...

I am a retired man from Germany 71 years old, living with my 2 dogs on lovely Orange Garden, West Coast of Peloponese. Most of the work will involve gardening, like planting, pruning, harvesting oranges and olives. Other work includes tidying up the place, general household chores, painting building and maintenance of the 8 bungalows I rent to tourists. I ask for 4-5 hours a day, 1 or 2 days free for your own. Low season helpers can use a bungalow for accommodation. You might cater for yourself or join me for meals. WiFi internet is available. Ideally volunteers would be over 25 years, have some knowledge of general maintenance and gardening. The bus stop is 500m from home, the 70km beach of Kyparissia Kolpos is about 2,5km. See my homepage. I am fluent in German, English and Greek. I am looking forward to your visit.

Like wine? Then you'll like this volunteer experience! We are deep in the heart of the High Penedes (700 metres up), which is located in the Spanish wine countryside, Catalonia. The landscape is home to pine forests and mountain villages, all perfect for Wine Country Bike Tours (we have bikes available for you to use). You have the opportunity to travel further a-field at the weekends - we're 75 mins from Barcelona and 45 mins to the nearest beach - although most place are hard to reach on a daily basis without a car as there is no public transport, but we have internet and fine weather. Work. Our philosophy is work hard, play hard: Your weekends are free to do as you please, and mon-fri you are required to do a combination of work both inside and work outside. We'll make the most of your strengths, and work varies dependent on the time of year etc, so it's best to email first to enquire. As from now, we have availability for up to 3 people able to do any or all of the following tas...

We are in the process of renovating an old house in the Pyrenees. There is only decorating to do such as stripping paint of walls and woodwork, and repainting. There might be the occasional carpentry to do also, nothing too complicated. We need help 5 hours per day, five days per week. Weeding, pruning trees, making paths. We are looking for help from two strong and healthy individuals to assist with a house redecorating project and gardening, trimming trees, path making etc. This requires physical strength and stamina. PLEASE NOTE WELL: we absolutely cannot host anyone with any pre-existing health issues, physical or mental (we are not medically trained to manage such conditions), such as hay fever, any other allergies, sensitivities or intolerances. We live in a small village with some shops and a climbing centre and a river just opposite the house. We have a quite a size garden where we grow vegetables, fruit bushes and trees. Here, we have spectacular mountain views on our do...

🏔️ Help Wanted: Alpine Farm Restoration & Lambing Season! Location: Lower Austria (Rax Mountain/Schneeberg area) Vibe: International, hard-working, family-oriented, and authentic. For us, the exchange is a two-way street. We want to learn from our guests as much as they learn from us, creating memories through shared meals and conversations. We are a pretty colourful bunch of nice people composed of an austrian and a middle east family and long standing international friends. Actually living here permanently: Feri (1982), Lise (1975) and the children Layla (2013) and Aisha (2015) and other family members are coming regularly to see us to enjoy the time together and preparing a mix of delicious oriental-european-food! Same as a lot of different visitors (friends, helpers, family) from all over the world are enjoying this place of meeting and exchange. The Mission: We are living the dream on a 150-year-old estate in a stunning water protection area, but to be honest—last year was a...

Simon and Sylvie live in a big house in the suburbs of Toulouse, with a small garden. UPDATE: In the month of July we will be doing some fairly technical painting work (ceilings, doors etc) and some insulation work involving wood, nails and hammers. We will also be fixing up old bicycles. We`re looking for two friends or a couple to stay with us for 10 days or so in July In exchange for 4 hours a day doing these tasks we shall put you up and feed you with good French cuisine. We can put helpers up in the attic apartment - an independent flat designed, constructed and decorated by helpers past. There is a lot to see in Toulouse and we`re only a few minutes from the nearest metro station into town ... and the brand-new téléphérique to nowhere. Helpers often find that a week in a big French city is welcome relief after weeks out in the sticks with no night-life, cafés or young people around. Toulouse has all this ... and more! Franco-Irish family - Simon and Sylvie - with one d...

Travelers should choose my place because it offers a calm, friendly, and comfortable home in the Dublin Suburbs 10 minute train ride to City Centre. You’ll be surrounded by plants, nature, and good company 🌿. The tasks are light and relaxed. You’ll also learn practical gardening tips and horticultural knowledge in a cozy, welcoming environment. It’s an ideal place for volunteers who enjoy peaceful living, meaningful conversations, and a warm home atmosphere. I am a well organized and responsible person. We are restoring an old traditional Béarnaise house located at the foot of the Pyrenees in the Ouzom valley. We want to share it with people who can help us with the garden as well as with the house to maintain or restore it. Assistance activities concern the maintenance or restoration of buildings (lime plaster, carpentry, plumbing, electricity, etc), maintenance of the garden (brush clearing) and its vegetable garden, whether it is windy or raining, depending on the projects in progress and the skills of each. Slug hunting to be planned every evening at nightfall. Once a week a complete cleaning of the premises will be carried out by all. We ask for 5 hours help a day, 5 days a week. We offer accommodation in a large 4-bed dormitory. Please, bring your work gloves and clothes , if you have any. Everyone must be autonomous and responsible enough to know how to clean and store the tools or things they have used, as well as to participate daily, outside helping time, in all the househo...

Hi, I’m Dani, caretaker of a small refuge hidden in the mountains near Palermo, surrounded by the unspoiled nature of Sicily. Our place stretches over one and a half hectares of terraced land with stone walls, olive trees, fruit trees, pines, and two gentle streams flowing through it. You can easily reach us by bus from Palermo’s main train station to the nearby village of Montelepre. After restoring the old buildings with eco-friendly materials, we’re now embracing the principles of permaculture to bring new life to this land. Our dream is to create a place that inspires and unites: a small center for people who care about the Earth, a space to slow down, recharge, and make a positive impact on the Planet. We take care of the olive grove — pruning, harvesting, and maintaining the land to prevent fires, often with the cheerful help of our two donkeys. We gather firewood for the winter, produce honey following natural beekeeping methods, and distill a few essential oils. Part of our tim...

Experience with horses is useful but not necessary as long as you are happy to care for them. You will live as part of the family - during your stay, our home will be your home. We are a married couple living on a property with our DOGS, HORSES and some elderly but treasured chickens. Depending on the time of year, we also run a small scale rescue and rehabilitation centre for hedgehogs. There are stunning views looking out over a Devon Wildlife Nature Reserve and beautiful countryside. We live in a very attractive rural area of Devon on the outskirts of a beautiful old village called DOLTON (please look on "Google Earth") about a 45 minute drive from Dartmoor National Park.

I’m an easy-going, friendly host who enjoys gardening and evening chats 😊. I value respect, honesty, and a relaxed environment. Volunteers can expect to be treated kindly and fairly, with plenty of support and patience. House also has a permanent tenant, Gloria from Italy (early 30's) who has been here over a year. The help is quite easy and low-stress. I’m happy to share my horticultural knowledge, including tips and tricks for getting the best performance from different plants 🌱. T...

Hi, I am Sharom, I'm living in Melaka with my wife and 2 teenage children. I love travelling and I would be very happy to share my country and culture to friends all around the world. I have a guesthouse and hostel managed by myself and my lovely wife. My hostel is located at Kota Laksamana, Melaka A Historical City town. It is a terrace house, located in a quiet housing area with stores and restaurants (some of the famous ones are just right around here) within 1 to 5 minutes walking distance from the city centre and the river walk. Feel free to make yourself at home here! Malacca is a cycling-friendly town. You are free to use one of the bikes in the guesthouse to ride around Melaka and explore. If I have time, I'll bring and show you around what's best and fun in Melaka - enjoying it in the authentically local way! Myself and my sons sometimes helps with the general cleaning after guest checking out and then it is me and my wife who are with the control of administrative tasks a...

My name is Esperanza, I run a language school. I'm looking for an easy going native English speaker to help us with conversation classes and different activities. It is a great educational project where we aim to develop students interest in the language in a natural way. We live in a nice area surrounded by mountains, our house is big , so we recently started an online rental program to meet new people from all over the world. The language school is 8 minutes away on foot from our house. I live with my son, Mikel, who is a university student. While you stay with us, you will be able to take part in lots of activities. Zalla is a town with lots of facilities where you can do nearly everything you can imagine. If you are interested in learning Spanish, we will be more than happy to help you!
