Hello Helpers! I live on a small 5 acre lifestyle block, 48 km South of Auckland CBD, that is also home to one horse (Meg), two small inside dogs (Alfie and Lacey), a cat (Sylvie) and some free-range hens who happily provide eggs for our breakfast. I can offer short stays of approximately ONE WEEK only, for a single helper or a couple. Mature, practical-minded people with a few years life experience, a good work ethic and a good understanding of the English language are preferred. None of the jobs are difficult but you do need to be reasonably FIT and you need to be able to work independently. Non-smokers/non-vapers only please. I've had some amazing helpx helpers that have helped establish the kitchen gardens and some help is now needed on general gardens and landscaping. Depending on the time of the year, some of the tasks you may be asked to help with are: planting trees/shrubs, weeding and mulching garden beds, grubbing thistles, paddock weeds and brush-cutting (strimming/w...

WELCOME TO PARADISE GLENORCHY! We are a busy couple working full time and needing help with our property. Based in the spot chosen by the original settling family in the area, we have a really well established garden that needs taming and some quirky buildings that need some TLC. Looking for hardy gardeners, handy DIYers and folks who are keen to just generally get stuck in. We have a great retro caravan, sleep out, outdoor kitchen and bathroom set up that's screaming out for someone, two friends or a couple to bring it to life. At this stage we a only provide breakfast, but could do lunch in some situations. We have heaps of freezer space and suggest you stock up on a few dinners, and drinks in Queenstown before you get here as the local shops are a bit pricey. Spark phone signal is limited to the end of the drive, OneNz works just fine. - free internet available. We recommend helpers have there own wheels, as we're 5km outside of Glenorchy. There is however a bike you can use if ...

We live on a 5 acre hobby farm in the beautiful Huon Valley, Southern Tasmania. Our family consists of three young adult children (two live at home), two horses, many chickens, ducks, geese, goats and two gorgeous dogs. We grow organic vegetables and breed heritage chickens in an attempt to be more sustainable. Jobs involve general gardening, helping with the animals and housekeeping. If you would like a Tassie small farm experience message us with some details of the work you have previously done. We have separate accommodation, with a bathroom. All our HelpXers have loved working and living with us and I hope you will too (please remember Tassie is a cold place in winter). There are many areas of natural beauty in Southern Tasmania which are all fairly close to us. For example, the Hartz mountains, Hastings Caves and the Tahune Airwalk. We live close to a sleepy village called Cygnet and Hobart is only a 40min drive away. (Unfortunately we can't approve 2nd year visas)

I am looking for people that are passionate about dogs and like to spend time and work with dogs. A pack of 24 huskies is something different than having a pet dog at home. You will be able to join our animal assisted programs with kids and young adults and learn about it. I am educated in dog physiotherapy as well and there is the possibility to learn in this field as well. Beside the main topic the huskies we have bee hives and produce our own honey. There is a big garden with fruits and vegetables that needs maintainance. To sum it up our work here is mainly outdoors with nature and animals. Every day is different so its not possible to give you a long term daily structure in advance. There are some everyday tasks in the dogcare but the rest of the work depends on the weather and the season. As we live in a small village the main freetime activities are biking and hiking. More freetime options you find in cities around in your days off. Vienna is quite close and its possible to ta...

A room is available for your homestay. Because of the help I would like to ask, mature ladies who have enough experience/knowledge of handling house holding chores and cooking are welcome. No problem if you cannot cook Japanese dishes. Vegetarian is welcome only from summer to autumn. It's easy to talk about next step of your homestay if how long from when, how you can help, what you want to do during homestay in addition to help works are written in your request. I will reply to only applicants who read my profile and understand/satisfy requirements. I'm a 67 years old male living alone and have a small private organic vegetable garden. I am happy if someone can help me to maintain vegetable garden and household chores including cooking. I also can enjoy helping my guest to learn Japanese language. We can visit at sightseeing places/aesthetic landscape when we have free time. At the same time, I'm interested to hear your stories about helpx and learn foreign languages as well ...

I am old enough to be your grandfooppather, loving life and every second left of it, which is probably about ten years.  Debs is my Numero Uno accomplice in this endeavour; basically, to avoid the old folks home.  Happy on the endless holiday, we are Boomers aiming at staying Forever Young.  HelpX helps us do that and travel the world at the same time.  We get to listen to stories of your great adventure and hear about your homeland; maybe even see yr home (Utube and Google walkabouts). Although the house is a bit of a disaster (badly needs a paint job and leaks in the bathroom etc etc), the work is mainly in the garden: germinating, planting, weeding, weed-eatering, poisoning noxious plants and unwanted trees (Privet), pruning, slashing, hedge-clippering, schreddering, lawn-mowing, chainsawing, permaculturing and now SCRUBCUTTERing.  If wet, it'll be cleaning, sandpapering and painting inside.  I ask for 3 hours per day (9 to 12) [or 3 days of 4hrs gets a day off], and the odd domes...

I have an opening for a volunteer person to help me with everyday life of looking after animals and some gardening & basic maintenance of the farm and some house duties in north Qld. I can only accommodate one person. This is a great opportunity to get away from the city life and enjoy some country living. I have cats horses and chickens. You may even have some riding lessons if you are keen to experience this. Meals and accommodation are supplied. Accommodation is a little caravan close by the house, which has a mini art gallery. ( if you like painting or doing craft things I can give you some lessons) At present there is painting Christmas projects 😀🎄 Prefer 1 month stay, but shorter stays like 2 weeks are ok too. We live in a slightly isolated quiet area being 80km from the nearest big town & the coast( and the beautiful beaches of Bowen in the Whitsundays !😊) but do live in a small town where we have 2 supermarkets, post office , hardware shop, chemist, hotels, swimming pool...

Please post photo of yourself. It is a lovely home atmosphere. Own room, double bed and couch. I have a large standard male black poodle who loves everyone. You must love dogs, and small female version of the bigger one. So two dogs. I adore them, as if you love dogs, they will love you back. Just need those who can handle normal life! I am older, but not a weakly older! Cooking, sharing experience and recipes, even better. The work here is garden maintenance, pruning and lawn mowing, weeding, and some cleaning in the home. Not much, just here and there. Please use your own initiative! If you see leaves, sweep them up. I have a blower so that’s easy too. If the bench is dirty wipe it. If there are dishes, rinse and put in the dishwasher. That type of thing. Like your own home. I am not a tidy freak. This is a home with dogs. Normal. If you have a car, there is off street safe parking for you. .Accommodation in return for garden maintenance and some...

It is best if you have your own transport. We are always adding and managing the gardens. I live in the house with my daughter and sometimes my other children - 19 years plus and one cat and a dog. I also have a horse that lives elsewhere - semi-retired now, but we can go and visit her if you are keen. Just ask. I would love help in the garden there is lots to do, but also would like help with cleaning and organising in the house and cooking and odd jobs. Very sadly my wonderful husband Andrew passed away and he spent many hours in the garden so keeping it looking good is important to me but hard to do without he...

My property is 10 hectares on the West Coast of the South Island, which starts at the coast with sand beach and sunsets and heads inland 1km through native wetlands and forest. Approximately 20km from Westport, 1km from Tauranga Bay! Public transport is limited? I'm a Certified Plumber and Drainlayer by trade but recently retired to work on property (next stage of life!) I have hosted many people through Couchsurfing over the years! Helpx is a new concept for me I purchased the property which is in need of a lot of work to tidy up, contouring/fencing/and planting trees etc. I'm now into planting out and setting up orchard also clearing introduced plants and replanting with natives. Current projects are building a new cottage for myself which is at the internal painting stage! and similar 2-bedroom cottage as a guest house which is at the internal lining and painting stage! both will be total off grid power and water supply. Next on the list is building a hot house and shade house I'...

We are located in the idyllic valley of Lorinna; an active, vibrant rural community with a strong cooperative ethos, frequent communal events and working bees, a food co-op, abundant wildlife and wonderfully clean soil, air and water. We live on a property with several other households with whom we share work and resources and a stand-alone photovoltaic and micro-hydro power system. We are a family of four with a 13 year old daughter and a 10 year old son who are homeschooled with a natural learning approach. We primarily need help with finishing building our tiny house, building a cob cottage, establishing permaculture gardens and food forests and/or playing with the children and helping around the house. Other projects we may be working on include collecting firewood, planting trees, ecological restoration projects, creating art projects, making compost, finishing work on our shared light earth studio, building a treehouse and natural play area and helping out with projects and ev...

Our farm is up for sale, so work is lighter, mostly weeding, cleaning, and property tidy-ups. Usually, it’s just you, us, and the animals, so it’s a relaxed, family-style experience. We typically start at 8am or by arrangement and ask for about 4 hrs of help per day You’ll stay in your own private air-conditioned container accommodation next to our home, share meals, enjoy the spa pool, BBQ area, and explore with our e-bikes. A vehicle is recommended as there’s no public transport, Richmond (shops, cafes) is 5 mins away, Nelson 20 mins. We love positive, proactive people, good cooks, and anyone who enjoys sharing food, music, and stories. Check out our reviews below.

Autonomy for everyone, especially for you and us at mealtime ... Resources are shared according to the availability of the moment. More possibilities if my children are not there, less if I have other guests ... fortuitous ... In the meantime we have no shortage of space in the garden to let you plant your tent or you lend a space... This is the minimum we can guarantee. A cabin is also available on the family sailboat ... Here too, there is work ... The room with double bed of the house is not often free for our helper sometimes the chance does things well, ask what you want, we are in French Polynesia climate is stable all year ;-) We will not ask for more than 2 or 3 hours of help a day in exchange we plan to lodge without food, although fruits from the garden are still part of the tradition of sharing the house... It's up to you to do your shopping and your dish washing and cleaning up after, the load will be in our situation not equitable otherwise.

I am an aquatic ecologist who has fortunately been working out of our coastal rain-forest property for 35 years. Driven by strong curiosity, I have recently been developing long-term data sets on the animal life in the forest that surrounds our home, plus on tropical marine fish that are steadily increasing in numbers under the influence of climate change at the nearby very beautiful Seal Rocks area (for details click on my website link below). We have 20 acres with 2 acres cleared and the remainder moist tall forest and rainforest. It is on the coast 3 hrs drive north of Sydney (1.5km from Smiths Lake; 30km south of Forster) See my blog link below to glimpse the accommodation, typical work and fun. We have a 180 squ m vegetable garden at times needing attention which has been enclosed to keep out our friends the wallabies (pademelons), possums, parrots and native bush turkeys. Bush regeneration is another activity as well as assisting in ecological surveys of local rivers when t...

Namaste! Thank you for stopping by. :-) I hope you will join me on my journey for a month, 2 months, or long-term. I have a pair of picturesque, riverfront hobby farms, each with a large 4-bedroom house. I am transitioning the farms to more of a communal space. There are three acres of wild blueberries that I am currently converingt to organic production, six acres of pasture, and about eight acres of woods that provide more than enough firewood to heat both homes without having to clear-cut any areas. I have a small herd of alpacas and an even smaller flock of chickens, whom I allow to free range. We harvest a small portion of our food from the property, and my vision is to increase that slowly and steadily every year. For a long-term (and possibly lifetime) stay, I would particularly interested in these 3 individuals: 1. Someone to manage the livestock, including monthly shots for the alpacas 2. Someone to process and market the alpaca fibre 3. Someone to manage the little antiq...

Cool little Beach Village near Wellington Kia Ora all Currently looking for help with cat and house sitting for about 3 weeks or so (starting Dec 23rd approx), so cat/animal lovers are ideal. There would also be garden watering and house care. I can provide a bicycle to use and the train is close by. The idea is to arrive before I go and get to know the place, the cats and what to do. We would do a bit of work together before I go - cat care, garden and housekeeping etc. You would be welcome to stay for some days after as well, it’s all negotiable. I can always accommodate one person and sometimes two. You are welcome to get in touch for a chat via WhatsApp. Also need help in the future with making a fence from rocks and wood and a gate. So someone or two with practical cabinet making or landscaping/creative building experience and skills would be ideal. For extra hours a cash exchange is possible for a highly skilled person along with accommodation and food. Helping includes...

Small sheep ranch in northern Montana offers hands-on-learning experiences. We run about 40 head of ewes for wool and lamb crops. There is need for sheep herding help in the summer, lambing help during around April in particular. Shipping is in August. But internships accepted all year. Other ranch activities include plantings for wildlife, fencing, farming, gardening and landscaping, building and repairs. Besides sheep, ranch animals include chickens, horses, and goats. I would welcome Helpers who have some skills in landscaping, gardening, carpentry, construction, painting, driving tractors, fencing - or who want to learn. Several projects are lined up that would give a variety of experiences. Regenerative is a byword for goals here. Restoring fields to grassland. Historic preservation of structures on this old homestead is another goal. All seasons have their special opportunities, even winter. Spring lambing offers a fast course in animal husbandry for Helpers who woul...

We milk 70 cows, and 400 goats and work about 400 acres. Now that I have full time staff doing the majority of the milking and barn work, the work is mostly in the workshop and the fields and we have more time for recreation. We always have an interesting project on the go so I particularly enjoy hosting helpers with engineering or mechanical backgrounds.. I enjoy inventing things and automation, with a well equipped (though somewhat disorganized) workshop. Have a barn renovation and equipment installation coming up, so give me a shout if you’re a carpenter or mechanic! Have been hosting engineering students for their internship abroad the last few summers, has been a great experience, they are always welcome. About me (Josef), I was born in Switzerland and am fluent in Swiss German, I am learning Spanish and have a very limited understanding of French.

Hello helpers. Summer has arrived and my beautiful garden needs some work.and love and care - It’s ideally situated 7 minutes drive from Margaret River Township in superb wine growing and forest area but a short drive 6 minutes to Margaret River Surfers Point, Prevelly and Redgate beach Margaret River is internationally renowned for food, wine and surfing spots. My property (read my GREAT reviews) has a pond and at present a dry creek and beautiful landscaped gardens.

** Immediate start, 2hrs per day in self-contained accommodation :) Looking for a couple or 2 friends from 12th or 13th December for a week minimum. You will need your own vehicle and will be responsible for your own food. ** ** Jobs include pet sitting (pets are chickens, goat and sheep), caring for the lawns and weeding. ** ** If suitable and if you are happy to, you may stay longer to help with some of the building jobs I have planned for summer. ** My daughter and I live rurally in a very friendly and quiet community, close to the centre of the village with sports grounds, saleyards, service station, club house etc. We have ornamental gardens and some fruit trees, 1 friendly dog, 4 chickens, a little flock of pet sheep, a pet goat who is a bit mad but we love her to bits, and a good amount of native birds.

We are looking for 1 or 2 people to help us with some cleaning and gardening for up to a week. Work is usually around 2 hours per day for accommodation in private room - self catering. If you are confident at cooking we can negotiate a arrangement that includes food. We can also accept helpers who are travelling in campervans with a powered camping site if they prefer.

With a busy working studio schedule here we are looking for independent, organised helpers. We are looking for ‘Experienced and Keen’ gardeners. Up to 12/14 hrs a week. Our Market Gardens are now in full swing, so weeding & assisting to general tasks like washing windows, stacking wood, sweeping as well as hedge and weed trimming occasionally. I need help with gardening and house cleaning. Space available 7th Jan onwards I have space for 1 person Mostly gardening work and house cleaning. We have a large 3000m2 garden. Really keen for someone able to do some physical garden work and create order in my house. It's an ongoing challenge! I have a newish house on a big section approx 4km from the center of Wanaka.

Hi there, We are a couple who are trying to finish renovating our home in the beautiful town of Kerikeri in the Bay of Islands We have hosted Help X couples before and enjoyed the whole experience and made some new friends. We would love a couple that as least one of them has some home renovation experience and can come do some hard work alongside us with plenty of time for us to show you around and out in our boat in the Bay of Islands. We are very social so plenty of opportunity to meet new people. We really want a couple who can be here for at least 2- 4 weeks. Jobs needed doing are: building and handyman work sanding, interior painting, landscaping and gardening. Sewing curtains, cooking and cleaning. We also need some help with website building, social media, and cad design if you have the experience but it is mainly the house renovation we require some help with. We also have a full workshop. You will have your own apartment that is not quite finished but very comfortable wit...

I have travelled a bit myself, doing two harvest tours in the western united states and Canada. I worked around Australia when I...
