Permaculture project with idea and space to create an eco-village. The quinta is located in Alto Alentejo 2km from Portalegre. 15 hectares with magical forests and a beautiful valley provided by seventeen sources and several mines with healthy water where too people live permanently for the moment,Isabel, a communication manager and Michel, a carpenter who is the founder of the project. There is also one dog, five cats, for chickens and six sheep. The project is now in the phase when it’s open so that more people can live here. Because parts of the ruins are ready for occupancy, there is space for people who want to stay longer, which can bring new and stronger dynamics throughout the year, not like before, when there was only a lot going on in the summer months. I live in an old farm and farmhouse in Normandy. I have converted a cottage into a holiday cottage with 4 bedrooms (all en suite) and one barn into another. I also had a Yurt (now gone but the pictures are still there !!) and a campsite. With the guest-accommodation, farm and further buildings to be converted, I could always do with an extra pair of hands. However, I fell in love with the first place where I stayed, many years ago. A very small rural village in Bavaria, Germany, at the Czech border. I rented the huge house and intend to stay here, with my little dog, for the rest of my life. It’s a beautiful hilly area and the forests invite for long walks in which you may spot deer, lynxes, boars and other animals. Public transport ends in Weiden (train) or Lohma (bus), but I have a car, can pick you up and drop you off. Plenty to see within reasonable distance like Nuremberg, Regensburg, Munich, and Prague. Ski and snowboard centre at 7 km distance and lots of others a bit further away. In the holiday season, Christmas markets can be found everywhere. We have a large house with 33,000 sq m of land located in Domancy, Haute Savoie, French Alps, between Chamonix and Megeve. We have spare accomodation in a separate apartment for a person or mature couple who would like to spend a few weeks in this region in return for labour in the garden and forest. This would involve gardening tasks, maintenance, or general assistance. Good opportunity to learn English or French, and spend time in the mountains. It's a family home, not a working farm.
