In 2005, my husband Terje and I, became the proud owners of this place and we spent the next 15 years renovating the property. Today we offer short-term accommodation in this historical building. Guests come to visit from all over the world. They come to Odda and the Hardanger area to experience and explore our unique landscape with glaziers, fjords, mountains, waterfalls, valleys and lakes. Hiking to Trolltunga is undoubtedly the most popular of the tourist attractions offered here in Odda. Other less famous attractions are just as breath-taking. I live here for more than 17 years and hosted many volunteers. Work is mostly in the garden. Weeding, digging, planting, watering, harvesting and off course eating. There is a big cat family living on the land. Help in the kitchen is welcome. Special dietary requirements must be met by the helpers. In the area there are many activities possible. More yoga teachers than there are yoga students. Meditations, dancing, healing, massage, channeling, singing,....! Many communities of all sorts (hippy, midwives, subud, soefie). Hiking in all directions. Even skiing starting beginning of December. I try to keep a healthy environment, so no drugs that cloud your spirit. No dogs either. We started our Vineyard back in 2004, it is located in a Beautiful,Quiet,Valley along the bluffs of the Mississippi River. We have five children that have now grown and moved out on there own. I just retired from a career of Process Instrument Work at the local power plant. I could use some help with the Vineyard and Gardens, but also enjoy fishing and boating on the river in the evenings and of course days off. We would be willing to supply your own bedroom,great meals and WiFi. We also have two Female Collies that love to get brushed and played with.
