* We have room for ONE helper currently * We are a family of 4 who loves food 😁 I am a solo mum and currently quite rundown and needing to rebuild health, as well as re-prioritizing life.. At the moment it would be really good to have someone on board who is capable, clean and self-sufficient in the kitchen, so I can focus on weaning my toddler and doing a complete detox (I have heard that this can land you in bed sick..). I need 1 or 2 helpers to help with these jobs: - Cooking meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner) and tidying up the kitchen. Bonus if you want to bake, as well 😋 Please note: the kitchen needs to be kept tidy, so will suit someone who is a very clean/tidy person! This would work well for someone who is flying out of Chch and needs to sell their car before leaving. You will have time in-between meals to sort your necessities before leaving. - Gardening I would like to setup a big fruit & vege garden :) With spring here, this is a good opportunity to enjoy the sun...

Hi there Traveler We offer a farm stay with great views and good conversation. We chopped down a pine forest and replanted with Manuka about 4 years ago so it’s starting to look really great, and more native birds are about. Established a wetland reserve as well. Also we are developing another small retreat area that needs assistance with tracks and tree management. Some stock work is all so on offer but we will work with you all the time as it’s safer and more fun. cheers and safe travels Geoff and Declan

We live on a semi rural farming property of 52ha overlooking the Waitemata harbour with views of Waiheke, Rangitoto and the Skytower, 30 mins south east of Auckland City. We are two minutes from the beach and there are several walks and cycling tracks nearby. We mainly farm sheep and also keep bees. You would be living as part of our family and are welcome to join in with any social events and activities, in particular fishing and boating. We have 3 adult children, and three grandchildren as well as three dogs and a cat. As a family we all enjoy meeting people from different cultures and forging connections with them and now have lifetime friends around the world. You can help us with gardening, landscaping, painting, building bee apiaries, planting natives (Autumn) and general housework and maintenance. It would be for a maximum of 4 hours a day which will leave plenty of time to explore the local area.

The kikuyu grass is going crazy around the young trees in my orchard, choking them, and I currently cannot get down to ground level to clear it because my knees are in a tantrum. Would really appreciate help with that. Also decided to build individual wind shelter for the most affected fruit trees, this requires some strength and I am struggling with it - much to my dismay. 10 years ago I had no problems with that kind of thing :-( We have one spare bedroom with en-suite - so it's one visitor, or a couple who are comfortable sharing a queen sized bed. Love gourmet food, international cuisine, we're omnivorous, we host a boardgame group that meets fortnightly, Suze is into all kinds of fibre arts and crafts, and is happy to spend time and teach. She's also involved with the local Rock and Gemstone Club. Peter does 'fine' Woodwork when he feels like it. He used to teach German as a Second Language a long time ago, but can help with phonetics and English vocabulary and pron...

Failte gu Trumisgearraidh, We're a young couple based in North Uist, seeking some extra help with tree planting this February! In 2018, we planted over 9000 native trees in a designated plantation, and are looking for some help planting 2000 more. This stay would be ideal for a couple, two friends or one independent solo traveller to help for approx. 5 hours per day (depending on the weather) during their stay, with plenty time to explore the beaches and wild hills of North Uist in between. The dates are flexible, but ideally starting February 23rd for a period of two-three weeks. If interested, some of the time could be spent helping feed our livestock & getting involved with other croft jobs! In exchange we would invite the volunteer/s to stay in our self catering cabin (photo attached, or you can view it by searching Am Bothan, North Uist), and if you are interested in learning some gàidhlig, Keith and his parents are fluent speakers. In your spare time you will have plenty oppo...

Would like an energetic couple or single person to help out with gardening, and housework. We would expect about 4-5 hours help a day in return for free accommodation and meals. Large bedroom and own bathroom. We have animals so, would prefer someone who enjoyed them being around. There are many wonderful places to explore in Hawkes Bay when you are not working. Fantastic cycle ways, tramping trips into the native bush areas, beaches and wonderful wineries. Prefer you to have your own car to get around and beable to see the region.

This beautiful little organic orchard is on the Richmond Hills, a 5 min drive to Richmond and 15mins to Nelson. We are growing citrus, avocados, nuts and a variety of other fruit trees, catering for our small community as well as a large vege garden. We also have some sheep and chickens. The jobs will depend on the time of the year but include pruning, weeding, mulching, harvesting, etc. If you have any building skills could be very handy as there are always a few projects going. The accommodation is a cute tiny home in the orchard with a separate shower and (composting) toilet unit. It has a sleeping mezzanine with a queen bed. Also the downstairs couch is a single sofa bed. There is a small kitchen with fridge and cooking facilities. It is suitable for a single person or a couple. There is a carpark. No wifi included. I'm looking for a single person or couple who can help me in the orchard, either 2hrs per day /5 days per week. This is for accommodation only. Meals are not include...

Hi We are looking for a couple to stay and help in February for a week or two. Hosting educating helpers from start April until end of October every year. I am a male from United Kingdom now living in France, and I have an interesting informative project in progress! Having lived off-grid in various locations over the past 20 years, I am based in the heart of the Languedoc Roussilon region (The worlds largest wine area). I currently have the basics set up in my re-purposed barn, including solar paneled electricity, fridge, charging for phones, laptops during day. Composting toilet, separate ladies no 1s toilet. Simple showers, we fill with buckets water from river. That warms quickly in the Mediterranean sun or you can heat hot water over our cooking fire. We also use a gas hob for cooking and hot drinks only. We get a good 4 and 5 g signal here. I would particularly like help with basic supervised DiY, weed clearing, re-roofing, and renovation of the barn, along with tree and vegetable planting and care. I expect 20 hours work per week in return for food, wine ...

Hello everyone! My name is Bird, I was working in Chiang-Mai as a photographer for 2 years then decided to become a farmer and create a Thai traditional agriculture permaculture farm in 2018. I wish to create a relaxing place that allows people from all over the world to take their time to experience life in harmony with nature. I also have four water buffalo on our farm, named Tony, Laura, Hanna and Charlie. We are a local family with a desire to preserve our simple, sustainable way of life so that we can give back to and protect mother earth. Our farm is located in Pua city, 70km north of Nan province surrounded by the mountains and rice fields, in Northern Thailand. The farm is set on 1.5 acres of land with vegetable gardens, rice paddies, farm stay and pizza restaurant. Currently, we have done with natural buildings on the farm, including bamboo huts, fences, and wooden houses. “Life is better with a Buffalo” is our farm goal and “Happiness only real when shared “ is our motto. The activities are based on the four pillars of the project: Sea Turtle Conservation: The sea turtle season begins in July and ends in December. From January to June, the frequency of turtles on the beach is reduced to one or two per month, so only one daytime patrol is conducted three times a week to relocate eggs on the beach if a turtle hatches. During these months, activities such as informational signage and beach sectoring are carried out. From July to December, night patrols begin. From September to December, the hatching of baby turtles begins, along with nest exhumation activities. Daytime Bird Monitoring: From January to June, three monitoring sessions are conducted per week. From July to December, the frequency decreases as we focus more on the sea turtle season; however, monitoring is still carried out during the week. This activity involves observing and learning about bird behavior, identifying birds, collecting and studying data, and planting native plants that birds use...

WE ARE CURRENTLY RESTRUCTURING THE ALLOTMENT AND NEED HELP WITH LIFTING AND MOVING PAVING We've been part of Helpx for several years now and have met some wonderful people, many of whom we still keep in touch with. We live in York, in the north of England, where we have a garden and (a 10 minute walk away) an allotment where we grow fruit and vegetables. We try to cultivate using the `no-dig` method and like to re-use and recycle wherever possible. Our house has solar panels on the roof for hot water and electricity, as we are keen to reduce our impact on the environment. The work includes turning and spreading compost, making new beds and paths, weeding, seed sowing, planting out, grass cutting and fence painting. From early summer, fruit and vegetables are ready to be harvested and prepared for freezing and conserving. If the weather is bad then there are always jobs to get on with in the house, garage and greenhouse. We can offer all meals, laundry and accommodation, (own ba...

Brief story: 2015 the project begun to take shape on a 1 hectar property, the bottom of Carpathian Mountains, Bucovina region of Romania. The intended plan was to build a house, vegetables garden, fruit orchard.. the usual stuff which most of us can aspire at some stage in life, to create a homestead, in this case combining permaculture principles and some traditional farming practices. Nothing on the property at that time except a natural lake sustaining itself from its own underground springs. A holiday caravan/trailer was installed here in summer, giving wings to the start. 2016 fencing done, part of the fruit orchard planted, three swales on the lake side have been constructed and planted. A dry toilet done. Everything seemed to work in puzzles and the house foundation has been made. Soon the works had to slow down due to the lack of manpower (not referred to men only). In this part of Romania one might experience a difficult task to find/employ people with a dedicat...

I live 5 minutes from Rotorua on a farm with a large modern home and garden, an orchard, flowers for picking and a glasshouse. . The farm has a trout fishing stream, trees, woodlots and a newly planted 4 hectare native forest. I'm a registered nurse, have traveled and worked overseas and hosted B&B guests. I love to bake and cook using fresh produce from the garden. Helpers have a gorgeous private upstairs room with comfy bed, clean linen, own bathroom and use of a downstairs TV room. It is a no smoking, no vaping, drugs free property. In exchange for accommodation and 3 meals a day helpers work 4 hours from 8am to 12 midday with a coffee break. Breakfast is muesli, fruit and toast at 7.30. Work may include picking fruit, painting, help with meals, cleaning, gardening, hedge trimming, collecting firewood and weed control in a recently planted native forest. I prefer helpers to stay a minimum of one week. Come prepared for wet weather and bring suitable footwear. Bring only ...

We are in the process of renovating an old house in the Pyrenees. There is only decorating to do such as stripping paint of walls and woodwork, and repainting. There might be the occasional carpentry to do also, nothing too complicated. We need help 5 hours per day, five days per week. Weeding, pruning trees, making paths. We are looking for help from two strong and healthy individuals to assist with a house redecorating project and gardening, trimming trees, path making etc. This requires physical strength and stamina. Please note, we cannot host anyone with any pre existing health issues, physical or mental (we are not medically trained to manage such conditions). We live in a small village with some shops and a climbing centre and a river just opposite the house. We have a quite a size garden where we grow vegetables, fruit bushes and trees. Here, we have spectacular mountain views on our doorstep, hiking trails through the mountains and forests, cycling paths, and skiing in the...

I can't see the world, but the world can come see me. UPDATE: Volunteer needed in March-early April 2026 to help clear a pasture from big wild bushes and chop wood. Hello. I’m Paul, a recently retired musician. I live in a mountain area made of rounded, wooded peaks in the inland of the Italian Riviera, at the point of connection between two regions, Tuscany and Liguria, widely renown for art towns (Pisa, Lucca, Florence among others) and picturesque fishing villages. It’s a quiet setting to get away from it all, with a 360 degree view stretching for tens of miles and right down to the Mediterranean Sea, only 25 km/15 miles away. Here is where the Alta Via (High Route of the Ligurian Mountains) starts, a long-distance waymarked hiking trail for nature lovers. I speak Italian (native), English (fluent) and French (fluent). I’m looking for calm-natured volunteers who are self-motivated and good with their hands, willing to help me with general maintenance around my property in exchange for food and lodging in a friendly environment. I a...

We are Axel and Mônica (both 51). We are living in Portugal and our house with 3000 squaremeters of land is in a small village in the countryside of the beautiful Algarve. We can offer accommodation (bedroom - as you can see on the picture - and separate bathroom for you) and meals of course. Behind the village the mountains start, so here is a lot of nature, the beaches are 30km away. The next town (Messines) is 4km away, the next village about 1km. We need helpers from end of February 2026 for three weeks for some work in our garden.. We prefer a couple or two friends, but if you are a single helper, you can contact us as well. Helpers are very welcome to our house!

Our community is a colorful, international bunch of nice people, with Austrian, Middle Eastern, Polish, and German roots and many international friends from all over the world. Feri (43) and Lise (50) currently live here permanently. The children, Layla (12) and Aisha (10), visit us regularly on weekends and during holidays. Natalia (30) and her two children, Maja (11) and Damian (7), also come by from time to time when they are not traveling in their camper van. Feri's cousins visit us regularly to enjoy time together and prepare delicious oriental food! We also have many other visitors (friends, helpers, and family) from all over the world. We have a big family and a lot of friends who come from all over the world to visit. We sometimes have family events and could use an extra hand getting things ready—whether that's preparing rooms or other bits and pieces. Don't worry, we don't have paying guests; all our visitors are family and friends. We're living the dream here in Lower Austr...

We are Tristan and Jesse, a young couple in the Pétite-Nation of Québec, with dreams of a Nordic style permaculture orchard, sheep and lamb production, with a long term goal of eventually offering "glamping/agrotourism." When the opportunity to buy and revive a historic farm came at the beginning of the pandemic, we scooped it up and chose to start the journey! Our project is still in the infant stages, with lots of renovation and repair to our historic barn and maintainting our 140 year old farmhouse. We have a pony and a Norwegian Fjord horse that we have started draft training to eventually replace the use of a tractor in the fields and for riding lessons, free range chickens, sheep breeding for meat and wool, maple syrup, wild mushroom and medicinal plant foraging, as well as a personal garden in the form of veggies, fruits, herbs, and medicinal flowers and teas... plus our awesome cats and our dog, Merlyn! We love to work with people who are: *motivated and positive! *animal an...

Tasks include hedge trimming, deck staining (painting), weeding pots in the shade house, potting up plants, and gardening. We live 25 minutes north west of Christchurch on an established property with a big garden, and tennis court. We have a sleepout with a queen sized bed and a spare room also with a queen sized bed in the house. Our house is warm and comfortable. We have tools for fitting out your car/van. We also have a car for sale. There’s plenty of space to relax - we have table tennis, table football, and it’s not far to the beach and mountains. We both like to cook good food from many different countries that we share with you. We have travelled extensively both in New Zealand and in the world. We have done a lot of hiking in New Zealand and are happy to give advice on this. Julia speaks good French and some German. Feel free to read our profile and reviews. We are happy to share with you our compan...

We live in a fun share house in Maryborough, Marry Poppins Town, with awesome meals and a big edible garden. We're Mars, the owner of the property and Tracy, a former theatre/restaurant owner who's cooking the most awesome meals and looking after everyone like a mum. We need help with building and creating, and with an awesome but overgrown edible garden. We're about to get ducksIn addition, we're about to put 12v solar power into the rooms, also natural air-conditioning and are finishing up the spa bath in the 2nd bathroom... so there's a bit for you to learn and lots of knowledge to take home.

I can't see the world, but the world can come see me. First and foremost, I want to thank all the helpers who came from United Kingdom-England, France, Belgium, Italy, China, Japan, Australia and New Zealand. Welcome Helpers. We are a family of 5 living in the Appalachian Mountains of West Virginia. Sue is the founder of Peaceful Hollow. Her daughter Ruth moved to the Hollow later as well as her husband Tim and their 2 daughters. Our hollow is quite with no neighbors in sight. There are no city lights, and you can see every star on a clear night! Our homestead consists of Sue, Tim & Ruth's cabins and one very small guest cabin. I a...

AS FROM END FEBRUARY / MARCH 2026 we are looking for motivated and cheerful people to join us for various projects around our property. During EARLY SPRING (FEBRUARY – MARCH) we mainly need help with PAINTING JOBS, GARDEN PRUNING, HEDGE TRIMMING AND GENERAL CLEANING to prepare the house and garden for the new season. In SPRING & SUMMER (APRIL – AUGUST) we are also looking for people to help with GENERAL HOUSEKEEPING (CLEANING, IRONING) as well as some LIGHT GARDEN WORK SUCH AS WEEDING AND WATERING PLANTS. We are a Belgian family who has been living in France for over 20 years. In our end fifties, we speak several languages: French, Dutch, English and a bit of Spanish. Our region, the LOT-ET-GARONNE, is a beautiful rural area full of history, located between Bordeaux and Toulouse. In summer, it becomes lively and festive with local food markets, concerts and medieval fairs. Our home lies on the edge of a small village, surrounded by 18 hectares of nature along the riverside. We pre...
