Hi there We have had many backpackers stay with us before and enjoy the new chats, music and vibes. I have stayed in hostels and backpackers here in Australia and overseas and always like to travel in WA to along the coast. Our house is walking distance from town and the beach is 200m away. It's an older house mix and match furniture, incense always burning and music playing with only 1 bathroom and 4 bedrooms with with big backyard. We have 1 cat named Sassy. The house is always tidy but by no means immaculate. There is wifi and a large bedroom that has heaps of cupboards and a desk with mirror and has a Queen bed, fan etc There is myself and my 17yr old son who live here. This project is part of a sustainable re-population project in the Abruzzo countryside. It's part of a network active in this area which connects all the people living around that have chosen the natural farming as their way to freedom. I'm 50 years old and i live one and half km away from Tufillo in a three hectares property. An open space for those who love nature, natural farming, art, and the sharing of goods, knowledge and experience. I started this project which includes the renovation of a farm shed, the building of a new house, some organic vegetable gardens, a meditative corner on an old oak tree, a thermocompost-shower, a clay pizza oven, a bio-climatic chicken coop and small stable. Hi Helpers, We are situated in the heart of Raglan in a nice little tucked away valley (walking distance to the town center). On the land there are a few dwellings (two main houses, a yurt and a tiny house). As a helper you will live in the yurt. It has an attached litte bathroom/ composting toilet and an outside bamboo shower. There is a wood burner to keep the place cosy on those colder days. We have approximately 2000 hectares of undulating country, situated in the middle of New South Wales. We run sheep, cattle, and do some farming. In August the following projects are the preferred ones to progress. My preference is for you to choose one or two that you can tackle that can be completed during your stay. For anyone staying mid August I have a special one off request to spend around 8-10hrs helping with a smallish party. This will involve food/drinks prep (nothing fancy!), helping decorate the venue, serving drinks/food on the night and keeping food / drink station stocked up, helping with a few games (and maybe taking a few candid photos) and being responsible for the cleanup at the end of the night or next morning. ANIMAL CARE VOLUNTEER at a sanctuary for rescued farm animals. Farm Animal Rescue is a registered charity that rescues farm animals from abuse, neglect and situations where they are in danger and provides them with a forever home. Free accommodation is provided in a shared room in our volunteer bungalow in return for three and a half days per week providing animal care. No experience is necessary, full training will be given. We reimburse food costs up to $10 a day. Minimum stay is three weeks.. Days will include dawn and dusk with breaks in between. Duties include daily cleaning of barns and coops, feeding, health checks, light maintenance work, monitoring herd movements and intensive care of ill, old and baby animals. There is a lovely lake at the end of the lane and there are lovely walks around us as we live near National Parkes. We are about 1.15 hour from Sydney by train. We are living on a 200 hectare farm in Rollands Plains. Located on the mid north coast, surrounded by hills and valleys, great for bushwalking and exploring if that's what you`re into. We are predominantly an arable farm growing a large amount of garlic. Seasonally, we also grow egg plant, rhubarb, ginger, turmeric, pumpkin, yukon, artichoke, cucumber and corn, and whatever else we can put in the ground. All of our grown produce is certified organic. We do not use any sprays or pesticides. We also keep livestock. A herd of cattle, pigs, sheep and goats as well as chickens, ducks and guinea fowl. We have an organic fruit tree nursery, along with many other projects on our land: several fruit orchards, chickens and bees, growing our own vegetables and herbs and trying to be independent in many ways. The six people who are staying are: Ajan, Eric, Veronique, Elisabeth, Natalie and Camille. Each of us have arrived here one by one, at first just interested in helping out in the place, and then as we found that this lifestyle was for us, deciding to stay for longer.
