Hello there and many thanks for your interest. We run a tourist hostel and pub in a beautiful Victorian house located on Achill Island, Co. Mayo, on the west coast of Ireland. (The island is linked to the mainland by a bridge). If applying to stay with us, please note the following: --Tell us your approximate arrival date and how long you would like to stay (stays of 3 weeks or more are preferred). --Give us brief details of any work experience or skills you might have. --Please have a photograph of yourself on your profile. --You must be reasonably proficient in English. There is a lot of interaction with our guests, in person and sometimes on the phone. We live in a beautiful location and if you like water sports, surfing, hill walking etc, you will love it here. We are 10 mins walk to the sea and great beaches. It`s very quiet here in the low season but busy from June to September. We enjoy many good music sessions around the fire in our pub and everyone is welcome to join in. ...

We have been taking volunteers since 1998. We have had people from all over he world staying with us and have made many new friends some of whom we are still in touch with today. People who come here are always taken in as members of the family and that is our strong point. We aren't really that interested in the ordinary pursuits that most people feel important but rather being in touch with nature and living close to the earth and nature. We live on a farm at the end of a dead end road. Our 165 acre farm gives us a buffer from civilization. Our main preoccupations are growing a large organic garden and providing ourselves with good wholesome food from our own gardens. We try to have vegetables that last us almost 12 months a year. In short we live close to nature. Our priorities are enjoying each others company, We speak both French and English. Come and stay with us for a while in an atmosphere that puts the emphasis on the deeper aspects of life.

We have a vineyard, olive trees and vacation houses near Tropea in Calabria. We need a couple to help us for some week from september to june for vintage, olive harvest, gardening, general maintenance and internet announcements. In autumn, winter and spring we have a lot to do in the vineyard, with the olive trees, the house and garden. Accommodation in a full equipped chalet offered. It is better to COME WITH CAR or rent it here. We expect you to work 2 and half hours a day (16-20) hours a week. You should buy and cook your food. We are used to give local products and teach you how to prepare traditional dishes. We appreciate if you work more hours on weekends because we are at home. You have a free day in the week. If we have time, we can show you around our region and our white sandy beaches. We would be glad to welcome people from all over the world to our home. We prefer couples. Feel free to write us an Email! It's possible to contact us early, that's not a problem!

Hello dear readers, Welcome! My name is Steef, and I live in the countryside near Castelo Branco. My children and I share a piece of land in a peaceful, natural setting. My kids (13, 8, and 6) are with me part-time and with their mother the rest of the time. This eco-project is about creating a beautiful place where plants, animals, and people can thrive in harmony. The end-goal would be to be as self.sufficient and ecological as possible. It’s a family place—but in the broadest sense of the word. As you can imagine, it’s a lot of work, and since I’m currently managing things mostly on my own (apart from the kids, of course), help is always very welcome. When the kids are here, they help around the house, follow their studies, and are homeschooled. One additional challenge is that I’m unable to drive, which can make daily life a bit more complicated. We would love to have more animals again in the future, but there are still many things to build and organize first. At the moment,...

We live on an old estate with 12 rescue equines (donkeys, ponies and horses), 134 rescued pigs, a goat and some sheep. The animals thrive in a calm environment; therefore we are looking for positive attitudes, happy to muck in and get through the manual labour, as well as patience and thoughtfulness with animals who need time to come around. This is incredibly rewarding if you enjoy tuning in to the little daily achievements and rehabilitation of the animals. For example, each person is matched with one animal a week to spend a few moments of one-on-one quality time with. This may be an animal who has recently lost their companion, or someone who needs company to gain trust. This helps both the animal and the team to do daily treatments such as hoof trimming, eye cleaning etc. A little heads up before you read on! Here is not a suitable place to come if you have problems with energy levels, lethargy or migraines from exertion. If you struggle with your mental health please consider t...

SUMMARY We are a family of 3 offering help exchange at our project in a small, rural settlement in East Algarve. Here we are renovating several small and simply constructed stone buildings and improving the land into productive vegetable garden and agroforestry, which was previously used as a small chicken and vegetable farm. OUR WORK We favour the use of natural materials where possible in our stone building rehabilitation work and are relearning some traditional skills along the way. OUR OFFER We are a family project and our day is oriented around work, meals and our family activities. Outside of mealtime and work, we would prefer guests to amuse themselves in the peaceful setting, unless we arrange some visits that you will be welcome to join. Food: We can provide a buffet breakfast, homemade soup with toast for lunch and a main course for evenings. Simple, home-cooked hearty food on a budget. Additional food outside what is provided at agreed mealtimes can be purchased sep...

Looking for a lovely volunteer to join us and our animals. AVAILABILITY FROM the middle of May. Please contact us if you are interested in helping look after our wonderful animals. Experience with horses is useful but not necessary as long as you are happy to care for them. You will live as part of the family - during your stay, our home will be your home. Depending on the time of year, we also run a small scale rescue and rehabilitation centre for hedgehogs. It looks like we are full until at least June but you are still welcomed to make inquiries about future dates. We appreciate help with DIY construction, repairs and maintenance, timber work, boat work, metal work repairs to trailers and for help with gardening, housekeeing, cooking, duck and chicken rearing and dog walking on the beach. Fishing, snorkelling, and rainforest walks can help occupy your spare time. We are looking for reasonably good DIY handymen and women, capable of working effectively, when necessary, on your own or as a pair and, ideally, someone who also has some gardening experience, but that is not really necessary, learn on the job! 😉👍. So you need to be a "morning person" who is happy to start work at 07.00 hr, at least five mornings a week, not a night-owl. This is to avoid the heat of the afternoons at this time of year, mornings ca n be beautiful. Much of the work will be outside, based out of a well-equipped, air-conditioned, woodworking workshop an...

Hello from the beautiful Dandenong Ranges! I am a self-employed ARTIST in a very colourful home. I have 1 dog, 5 goats and 3 lovely human housemates. EXPECTATIONS Enthusiastic, trustworthy English-speaking helpers who enjoy a laugh, are practical and can work INDEPENDENTLY. There are several varied DIY projects on the go. Most of the work is outside, you need to be physically fit and prepared for manual labour. I look forward to hearing from travellers who can help with limited instructions, unsupervised and have a passion for gardening, fence repair, building and DIY projects. Do you know how to use a drill, a drop saw, a sander and an angle grinder? Garden maintenance duties include but not limited to: use a whipper snipper to tidy garden edges; rake leaves; hand weed, digging, collecting fallen branches and sticks off the ground. Gather fire wood, cut and stack. Help burn garden waste. Plant new or potted plants, spread mulch on garden beds. Helping around the house and other od...

This is an exciting opportunity to have an experience that will stay with you throughout your life. Our Foundation aims at helping rural children receive a qualitative outstanding education. We have a volunteer teaching program to assist rural teachers and children get exposure to foreign languages and cultures. Because English is the second language in Thai schools, we concentrate on improving the English language skills of both rural teachers and children. At present, we aim to help 4 public elementary schools (grades 1 - 6) close to Chiang Mai. We are currently taking applications for volunteers who would available to start sometime between mid-May and the end of June and commit to at least 8 weeks . We are looking for volunteers to teach English only. Couples are welcome as well. NOTE: We do not charge volunteers any fees for staying with us. The generous gift of your time and dedication is all the donation we will ask of you. We provide the volunteers lodging and meals in ...

Hi folks! I'm looking for an extra set of hands during April, may and June. Between 10-20 days at a time. 😊 I'm hoping for avid gardeners or skilled DIY or both! Giving the garden a makeover, also the natural swimming pool. If the weather is rubbish we will be painting and decorating 😄 We can't accommodate children or dogs sorry. Work is varied, and will change depending on the weather. we will be giving the garden a bit of a make over. Including the natural swimming pool. Lots of plants being removed and replaced. I also run a very small camping, you can find it on instagram via link below. https://www.instagram.com/cactuslodgecamping/ There's a chance new planting could happen there too. New ideas and creativity are always welcome. 😁 Here's my usual bumf, I have a small holding consisting of olives, carobs, almonds, veg patch, pigs, and geese, and am battling to get the land, trees, under control. There is also a natural swimming pool here, which used to be a normal swim...

Looking for help with selective cutting trees for firewood and lumber which we cut on our own small mill. Hopefully someone that is a better gardener than we are as we would like to start growing our own produce and maybe even get some chickens. Help with some construction and painting projects. We are a small property in the Flinders Ranges running cattle and horses, and also have a small tourist operation with a BandB, camp sites and mountain hut on the Heysen Trail. There are great hiking trails on our property and many native birds and animals. We are looking for some help with odd jobs around the property which include general maintenance and some office and house cleaning jobs. We have caravan accommodation for 1 or 2 people available, so you can have your own private space when you like. We are excited to meet new helpx travellers and hear about their interesting lives and travels. We get good mobile phone and internet coverage. Your own vehicle is essential as we are 15 k`s from nearest town. We are able to pick you up from Port Augusta if you don't have your own vehicle and arrive by public transport. if you also have a flare for decorating, cooking and organising that would be great.

For May there is a bedroom available (June to July 10th fully booked) and also from July 11 to August 8th PLEASE no supporters of mass starvation and military actions against civilians... No climate change deniers ... We definitely would not get on!!! ( To be clear it is not that we require long or even any conversation s on these topics , it is that it would be against our principles to be gaining any kind of advantage by hosting people who were so strongly misaligned with our ethics). We really need a 2 week stay having people come and go is tiring...and it does take a while to adjust to full eco house lifestyle. i have been on couchsurfing network for years hosting many people.. and i think this HelpX network is a great idea. Actually i prefer it now. I am flexible with my time (especially during the week days) and love to hang out and make new friends.. In the summer I travel around Victoria and Australia a lot, going on road trips with friends and many music festivals -camping in the bush etc.. I am into music (composing/playing); Alternative health / medicine ; Electronics / Engineering / technology ; Anything weird wacky unusual unexplained strange secret, and business combining most of the above, ;) .. The world is full of amazing things and possibilities and Life can never be dull for the seeker with an open mind. I am very passionate about hidden truths and wisdom and always keen to learn and share (if called for) I do not drink or smoke and i like vegetarian food but i m pretty flexible.. During the warmer months me and my crew travel to various outdoor music festivals around Aust...

This is an off-grid homestay with an established biodynamic garden of around 30 years. The lifestyle here is slow and close to earth, jobs and activities vary according to season and weather. Work here includes general gardening, firewood, fixing jobs or help in the kitchen. I'm asking for about four hours work per day in exchange for accommodation and organic meals (vegetarian). You have a private sleepout in a cute cabin in the garden which has a futon but requires you to bring your own bedding (sheet/sleeping bag). The cabin has no electricity, I suggest bringing a head torch as well. The property is close to beaches and waterfalls; the Great Ocean Walk and Apollo Bay (25km). I have bikes available on request but your own transport is almost essential, since public buses operate on only two days a week. A pick up from Apollo Bay can be arranged though. If you would like to come and stay please contact me via mobile phone, since I don't use the computer very often. Two days into your...

There are some villages and small towns in the area and El Torcal mountains a must... the Caminito del Rey, Google it, Malaga (a very beautiful seaside city) is 25km. from here and there is a bus service 7km. away, where we would be happy to bring you to and collect you from. We are in the process of renovating an old house in the Pyrenees. There is only decorating to do such as stripping paint of walls and woodwork, and repainting. There might be the occasional carpentry to do also, nothing too complicated. We need help 5 hours per day, five days per week. Weeding, pruning trees, making paths. We are looking for help from two strong and healthy individuals to assist with a house redecorating project and gardening, trimming trees, path making etc. This requires physical strength and stamina. Please note, we cannot host anyone with any pre existing health issues, physical or mental (we are not medically trained to manage such conditions). We live in a small village with some shops and a climbing centre and a river just opposite the house. We have a quite a size garden where we grow vegetables, fruit bushes and trees. Here, we have spectacular mountain views on our doorstep, hiking trails through the mountains and forests, cycling paths, and skiing in the...

* Very often one or two of the volunteers works as a handyman and general maintenance worker, and this position can also be paid for the hours in excess of the 25 hours per week. From the reviews of the others you can understand a lot and you can feel what we can share... I speak English, Franch and basic Portugues. Hi ! We are a parish situated in the center of Tuscany. We are in a town, really nice and famous, rich of art and history, not so far from Siena. The name of the town is San Gimignano. In our parish we organized many activities with kids and teenagers. Even if there are many tourists around every day, I really like the idea to give to the more young of the community the possibility to share time and experiences with those who have a different background, different experiences, different languages. For this reason I decided to open our activities to some people of other cities and countries. We organize activities especially in summer for children and teenagers, some activi...

English version below. Hi, my name is Marianne. I live on a classic New Zealand "tree quarter acre section" on a north facing (all day sun) hobbit hill, looking down to Oamaru. If you arrive early enough at my kitchen window or even up on the jungle hill behind the cottage, you can see the sea and watch the sunrise. A 10 minute stroll down Eden Street gets you either to the CBD or to the shoreline. I am providing three basic meals per day as well as a comfortable and quiet room for your stay and to relax after our daily four hours of working together "out there", somewhere on some befitting project. Currently the main focus is on landscaping, forging a pathway up the hill via carving out soil on one side and adding to the other side, creating little embankment walls in the process. Most of these embankments will be made from recycled Oamaru natural stone, a few with recycled glass bottles. Our white Oamaru sandstone has attracted various sculptors to our town, because it is soft enough to be cut and carved...

I need some help to renovate an old cottage (build in 1880): painting walls and ceilings; working with roof pans and mortar (from inside), help in the garden. Other families in my little village (100 persons) will ask also for help by you. I offer of course accomodation and food - but I am a lousy cook!!. Inside the house is still something like a construction site, so accomodation is a little bit primitiv.

Hello Everyone, We've been hosting through helpx for over 10 years, we enjoy learning about cultures and people from all over the world. We have the pleasure of living on 350+ acres of natural bush country in Brooweena, Queensland. We have converted a bus to a tiny home, and we are currently building a shipping container home, this is a priority and would love people to help. We also grow a lot of our own food and have fruit trees. We are 100% off-grid with all our electricity from solar and tanks, dam, and rain for water. We have a friendly dog who loves to play. Our goal is to be as self-sufficient as possible, improve the soil, and regenerate the land to a healthy ecosystem. We use Permaculture Design methods. This means we don't use any chemical sprays, artificial fertilizer or mono-cropping on our land and live the values of Earth Care, People Care and Fair Share. It's a very exciting time for us to be embarking on our farming adventure, and we would like to share this ti...

Currently need some help with mostly gardeni/ outside work and if weather bad some help in house, eg painting. Work involves fencing, gate posts, mowing, weeding, cutting back overgrowth, planting and anything else that needs doing! We live in the South Hams of Devon - an area of outstanding natural beauty. We are a retired couple but still run our musical instrument repairs business and we are always in need of some help. We love to play traditional folk music in local pubs. We live in a cottage in a village with a coffee shop and a pub, and close to the water. We are looking for someone to help who is strong and able and thoroughly practical. We have a Romanian street dog who takes a little while to get used to new friends, then will become your best friend for life! We anticipate help for approx 4 hours per day, depending on the task, so overall 20 - 25 hours per week, which can be spread out according to the job being done at the time. We are pretty flexible! We are a married couple living on a property with our DOGS, HORSES and some elderly but treasured chickens. Depending on the time of year, we also run a small scale rescue and rehabilitation centre for hedgehogs. There are stunning views looking out over a Devon Wildlife Nature Reserve and beautiful countryside. We live in a very attractive rural area of Devon on the outskirts of a beautiful old village called DOLTON (please look on "Google Earth") about a 45 minute drive from Dartmoor National Park.

We are currently taking applications for volunteers who would available to start sometime between mid-May and the end of June and commit to at least 8 weeks . We are looking for volunteers to teach English only. Couples are welcome as well. NOTE: We do not charge volunteers any fees for staying with us.

In recent years we ...

The Ilam district is famous for its tea farms. We have our own organic farm, with fruit & herbal plants and a nursery consisting mainly of kiwi plants. We have also two cows.
