Summer update I may still need help towards the end of August and into September. I am still in the process of selling the house so need help as I declutter and get ready to move. I will need help in the grounds. Some repairs and general upkeep and maintenance jobs, clearing paths, fighting the undergrowth, tending plants and watering. When it rains there are plenty of indoor jobs to help with: shopping, cooking , cleaning, decluttering and sorting stuff. Posting bric-a-brac on internet sites to sell or to give away. Computer assistance is always a bonus. There may be opportunities to help with voluntary projects nearby including the Storehouse with its community lunch once a week, Saturday Town Hall open house. These are all ways to meet local people. There is a community cinema every Sunday night and a folk club every Tuesday. This very big old house with woodland garden is tucked behind the main street of a busy, small Scottish town. I have no pets but there are resident...

This is a traditional family-owned farm which, after years of abandonment, is currently being re-imagined as a sustainable and environmentally-conscious community. Located just 3km from the beach, where the Pampa plain meets the rugged coastline of the Argentinian Atlantic. We are passionate about agriculture, surfing, music, travel, nature and the environment, who want to create a communal space where people from around the world can come to learn about sustainable living and ecological ideals; share delicious organic food from the gardens; surf; tell stories; share knowledge, ideas, culture and language; learn about farming, the environment, or just relax and enjoy the farm and surrounds. The project is in its early stages and we are looking for energetic and responsible individuals wanting to experience and contribute to rural life and communal living close to nature. We are looking for self-motivated individuals to help us out with daily tasks such as helping in the kitchen, kee...

We are located in the heart of Berlin, one of Europe's most exciting and diverse cities. With its vibrant cultural scene, world-class museums, historic landmarks, countless cafés, parks, and excellent public transport, Berlin is the perfect place to experience urban life while enjoying a welcoming home environment. I would kindly ask you to help with painting, fencing, gardening, sweeping leaves, cleaning and maintaining the house, as well as feeding and caring for the animals. There is plenty of space to relax and enjoy your free time. You will have your own private room, and I will provide breakfast and one warm meal each day. If you enjoy cooking in a holistic and nutritious way, you are more than welcome to do so. I am always happy to share my knowledge about healthy food and learn from others as well. I am not just looking for someone to help with daily tasks—I would like to offer a meaningful cultural exchange and create a positive experience together. If you are interested in me...

Hello my name is Philip and my wife is Allison. We have a beautiful piece of land in Devon where we look after and breed alpacas. We often have beautiful baby alpacas in the summer. We have some tourism here as we have two bell tents and a shepherds hut. I like nature and the outdoors and like to have interesting conversations with any helpers we have. I am also interested in Japanese and Chinese culture. We normally only take one or two helpers at a time who will live in a comfortable lockable studio with open views of the land. We supply the food and bed linen etc. The work is five days a week and is very enjoyable and variable. It will be feeding and helping the animals as well as some light farm work, nothing too heavy. Also some tidying of the tents. Please do not use headphones to listen to music when outside because you will not hear farm vehicles. Also if you need to listen to music while outside I do not think that this is the right place for you. Please contact me with any que...

We are a young french couple with a child Eleo (2,5years) who are living in the Hautes-Pyrénées, near Lannemezan. Fabien is mountain guide, and Charlene is farmer. We have a big garden with medicinals plants and vegetables. We are experimenting different ways to cultivate. We are always satisfied to learn various agricultural technicals. It is important for us to use all the resources that we have on the spot, plants, trees, compost, shearing, rather than to bring elements from outside. We sell our production with two market by week so it's lot of work! We have 15 cheeps, lots of chickens and 4 cats. And we have 15 dunkeys of Pyrénées in the place to eat grass and to work with Fabien for montain trecking. The activities are diverse: mainly of the gardening(weeding, ground work, seedling, plant and transplant), take care a few sheeps, sort out seeds and spices, make the picking of wild plants, prepare herb teas and prepare the market. Hi i'm Andrea, born in '86, male, still living with my parents in the garden where i was born. the only one of 4 kids born in this place that decided to remain here and take care of it. we have more or less 2,5 hectares of land, half of it is a paddock paradise for our donkeys and horse. the rest is in part an orchard/ food forest, and part is left to native vegetation and wild life. we also raise chickens, turkeys, geese and peacocks. they all roam free destroying my veggies and the lawn. and then there is my pack of small terriers that will bark any new comer to deafness and then smother them with fur and happiness. i like to produce food. and eat it. it's a strange process but when you harvest the things yourself they taste better. also you have the illusion to control what get inside you. but it's '23 and our atmosphere is full of chems. Sicily has become quite tropical in recent years so we grow also tropical and sub tropical fruit trees: mangos, avocado, guava, sapote are already...

We're creating a boutique eco-retreat on a beautiful mountainside property on Puerto Rico's east coast, surrounded by lush tropical landscapes and just minutes from El Yunque National Forest, rivers, waterfalls, and the Caribbean Sea. This isn't simply a place to volunteer, it's an opportunity to help build something that will welcome guests for years to come. Our vision is to create a peaceful retreat where handcrafted guest suites, tropical gardens, and nature come together. Every path, garden bed, tree, and timber structure you help create will become part of our projects story. We're currently transforming an old church building on the property into two beautiful boutique guest suites while establishing a productive food forest that will eventually provide fresh fruit, vegetables, and herbs for both guests and volunteers. We're especially looking for two people who enjoy working together and bringing different skills to a project. Whether your strengths are in carpentry, garden...

Hi! I'm Tonje and I moved to my farm in 2020. And there's always a lot to do here. This small farm is in a very small town, by the fjord in Hardanger. Its a good place for hiking and culture. The area is quiet and scenic. The closest cities are Odda and Bergen. The bosses of the house are 4 dogs and 3 cats. Right now I don't have any farm animals of my own. But the neighbor's sheep live here too. I would have been very grateful for various help on my small farm. The work can be very varied. But I need help with maintenance of the outdoor area, wood working, chopping firewood and snow shoveling. I also have an airbnb, so cleaning, organize and tidying jobs are also tasks that I may need help with. Help are appreciated a lot. For your help, I can offer beautiful scenery, food and a private bedroom.

Hello! Would you like to stay in a villa by the sea? I offer free accommodation in exchange for a few hours of help. The villa is located 15 minutes from Ajaccio. It has bedrooms with private bathrooms, a gym with a spa, a jacuzzi in a landscaped garden, large terraces and a swimming pool. The beaches are just a short walk away, with small coves and natural pools directly opposite the villa. The panoramic sea views and sunsets make the setting particularly idyllic. A transfer from the airport or port can be arranged depending on availability, during the daytime only (details available on request). The minimum stay is one week. Simply indicate your available dates in your request. The help mainly involves cleaning, cooking, garden maintenance or small painting jobs. Sorry folks, we are now fully booked until the beginning of April 2027. There may be a cancellation, but these are very rare, but if you are in the area, reach out, we love to chat :) As well as the normal homesteading tasks, if you want to learn about wine making, bee keeping, jewellery making, or take some self defence lessons we could be a great match. Have a think, take a look at our reviews and if you are interested, drop us a line, *** Our beautiful countryside homestead (only 5 acres so not really a farm) is in the mountainous hills above the historic castle town of Caccamo, Sicily. It is surrounded scraggy mountains and long valley walks. It is perfect for hiking or just relaxing in the sun with a good book. Within easy traveling distance for those interested in exploring this culturally rich island, is the seaside town of Cefalù or even the main capital city of Palermo, both are easily accessible by bus and train from the local town. We work daily on various homesteadin...

Hello, we have a small 3-hectare farm with a vegetable garden, a few fruit trees, and 250 lavender plants. The work is not at all difficult; it consists of watering the vegetable garden every day, which takes about two hour. During the summer, we water the lavender plants twice a week .we need a girl or women as Yoko is Japanease origine feel uneasy with men. There’s also some work involved in tending to the plants or harvesting sometime in season . Other than that, if we’re away, you’ll be looking after our mini rooster and his two chicken for the moment . We also have a very sweet cat. Please note that our land is certified organic. It’s located on the edge of a national park, with the option to go for bike rides on a 60-km-long flat, sandy “greenway.” We use water from a groundwater source 110 meters deep—absolutely pure. We are a vegetarian couple; we use soy milk and vegetable butter. If you prefer vegan options, we can provide meals without eggs or dairy. Please do not smoke insi...

Beautiful 56 acre mountainous property, completely off grid with a small hardwood house /cottage that I have built using milled wood from trees on the property , with lovely views everywhere . Also doing a lot work to improve the land and infrastructure. There are over 4 kilometers of walking trails through gorgeous forest, on this completely vegan property, with mountainous views all over ranging from 150 to 230 meters above sea level. The beautiful forest trails have old growth national park like forest at the very top. Lots of wildlife to see , with all kinds of exotic birds , including families of black cockatoo’s which live here in the pine’s, and beautiful little kingfisher birds, yellow robins, willy wagtails and kookaburras to name a few. Welcome to this very special place by the beach along the East Coast in Tasmania. We live on just over 4 acres of land and are starting to create a garden and plant more native trees on the land. We are also building a labyrinth. We are receiving visitors from the 15th September 2026. Tasks on the land include gardening, wood stacking, tree planting and helping with the creation on our labyrinth. We especially welcome people with an interest in community living. We are part of an online community, see my website link below, which includes a vision of lived community with values of nonviolence and liberation for all. I am also a facilitator of the Work that Reconnects, see website link below. If you have an interest in exploring how we can live on the earth more lightly and in a regenerative way, this is the place to come and explore and have those conversations. We are just starting on this journey on this land and are experimenting in what supports choice, togetherness and flow...

Please come help me. I am now able to ride the ride on mower and get mowing done. Still painful.. My helper who had been here just over 3 years [yes years],moved . He works in town full time, stayed here for free and helped with chores. I really need the help. I do need someone for the winter months for sure. I have had 3 really great helpers already this spring. Not as much to do as most years. Painting will have to get done this year. That is outside on the little buildings. 2 barn doors need repairs. Please respond when I send an invitation. I wait and wait and so many do not reply. Thank you to those who do. Due to my health, i have gotten behind.. I hope to see many more new friends in 2026. If you love wildlife, the outdoors, great views and good food, send us an email (only emails from this site will be responded to). This is very much a cultural exchange (for us and for you) as you will be in our family home sharing our lifestyle. NO SMOKERS OR VEGETARIANS PLEASE. We prefer our helpers to stay 2 weeks or more. Work outside is a major part of what we do so expect to be outside on a rural property as part of the experience. Please message us through this platform to allow us to view your profile The property is located 60km South of Brisbane and 20km West of the Gold Coast on the upper North slope of Mt Tamborine, 320m above sea level. We are surrounded by National Parks and abundant wildlife. The property is 6Ha with a sub-tropical climate and has great country views to the North up to 140km on a clear day. We also have a tennis court (I will always give preference to tennis players who love to cook and eat great food), an outdoor cob pizza oven, chooks/ducks, two Rh...

2 Small farms turned into the one near the West Coast of Clare. We keep lots of farm animals like cattle, horses, donkeys and sheep. We produce a wide range of vegetables for ourselves and some for selling. We have two children, went to primary Steiner/ Waldorf school; Frank (25) and Fina(21) and they love having volunteers around the place. Fina is doing equine studies and Frank studies horticulture and loves travelling. We hope you have the ability to adapt to our for most of you different and simple life-style and enjoy farmwork with irregular hours at times, and you will get a true sense of farming life-style! It is important to realise beforehand that you are a volunteer who gets the opportunity to join into our family home/life so please do not compare with a regular paid job.. Most important is that you are happy and enjoy your stay with us... We offer healthy food, wonderful sunsets and rainbows, some Irish traditional music, and the possibility to learn more about old style f...

I'm Thanasis, a 45 years old greek man living in the South of the Peloponnes. I'm a farmer, with oranges trees and some olive trees. I also have a shop, mainly selling coffee that I roast on site. I need help all the year to maintain the big farm (orange and olive harvest, trees pruning, pick-up fallen oranges, and so on..) If you come, you will have your own room (1 for a couple or separate), and access to all the rest of the house (kitchen, bathroom...). I like to share the meal, and provide food if you want to cook. You also can use WI-FI connection. You could enjoy the life between the farm and the city of Skala Lakonia, wich offer a lot of coffee shop, restaurants, and any kind of stores. Minimum stay is 2 weeks, to allow time to learn about life on the farm. I need help for a maximum of 5 hours per day, 5 days per week, depending on the weather. I really like to meet new people and introduce them to Greece history. I practice karaté (three times per week) and would be happy t...

We hold community meetings throughout the week alongside activities and workshops, such as quiz nights, dance nights and yoga classes. If you have something you are passionate about and want to share with others, we would love for you to run a workshop. I can't see the world, but the world can come see me. First and foremost, I want to thank all the helpers who came from United Kingdom-England, France, Belgium, Italy, China, Japan, Australia and New Zealand. Welcome Helpers. We are a family of 5 living in the Appalachian Mountains of West Virginia. Sue is the founder of this place. Her daughter Ruth moved to the Hollow later as well as her husband Tim and their 2 daughters. Our hollow is quite with no neighbors in sight. Also, there is a private guestroom with private entrance on the second floor above the workshop/cabin combination. . We have a lot you can be involved in, knowledge to share, friendships to build, and opportunities for growth. Below are our routines and some projects. Hello. Before you read anything else, I simply want to say thank you. Thank you to the helpx team for creating this beautiful platform. It has changed my life in ways I never imagined. For the past 10 years, I have had the privilege of hosting incredible people from all over the world here. Every volunteer has left something behind—not just their work, but their stories, ideas, skills, cultures, laughter, and friendships. Together, we have built much more than a farm; we have created a learning community where everyone teaches, everyone learns, and everyone grows. And thank you for taking the time to read my profile. Perhaps you're just curious, or perhaps you're already thinking about visiting. Either way, I truly appreciate your time. If our paths cross, I hope you won't come here only as a volunteer. I hope you'll come as a friend, ready to share your knowledge, learn new skills, experience a simple life close to nature, and create memories that will stay with you long after you l...

We are looking for a motivated volunteer (or a couple) to join our small sled dog company from end September onwards, ideally for a minimum of one month. A longer stay throughout autumn and winter would be a real advantage, and if we are a good match, we would be happy to continue the collaboration. This opportunity is probably not for everyone. Life here is simple, physical, sometimes challenging, but incredibly rewarding for someone who truly enjoys dogs, nature and outdoor living. We are a small family-run sled dog kennel with around 40 dogs, 30 chickens, and turkeys, located in Posio, Finnish Lapland, about 20 minutes from Posio village and 40 minutes from Kuusamo. Our daily life revolves around our dogs. We spend our days caring for them, training them, improving our property and slowly building our dream, one project at a time. Our priority is our dogs. Always. Their wellbeing comes before anything else, and we are looking for someone who shares the same respect, patience and car...

We're a truganic, biodynamic, permaculture farm in the Catskill Mountains of New York State, two hours Northwest of NYC. 24 acres with approx. 4 acres of wetlands. Approximately 5 acres under cultivation. We follow all the organic standards, and above (since organic standards are constantly being downgraded by the USDA), but are not certified organic. We DO NOT use pesticides, herbicides, fungicides, "cides" of any kind, or chemical fertilizers. We also follow biodynamic & permaculture principles. Season is April through October. We appreciate 5 hours of work per day, 6 days per week. You can choose 8 am to 1 pm, or 7 am to noon. Sundays off.

Actualy we are building a cellar for storing veget...

It represents around four hours per day, with the option of grouping the work into one full day every other day. The rest of the time can be spent enjoying Lava’s large beach, the coves in front of the villa, the hiking trai...

We are a cultural and arts community that is working towards being self-sustained. The community is situated in the mountains of Monchique, Portugal surrounded by nature. Our community provides an alternative way of living with permaculture gardens, farm animals, sustainability projects, and arts and cultural workshops. It is a great place to come to meet other like-minded people if you are passionate about sustainability and alternative living. We hold community meetings throughout the week alongside activities and workshops, such as quiz nights, dance nights and yoga classes. If you have something you are passionate about and want to share with others, we would love for you to run a workshop. One of the best things here is the variety of tasks you can do as a volunteer, which gives you the opportunity to learn new skills and discover what you enjoy doing most. We have a combination of short-term and long-term volunteers and on average we have between 10 to 20 volunteers and resident...

There are no city lights, and you can see every star on a clear night! Our homestead consists of Sue's workshop/cabin, Tim & Ruth's cabin and one very small guest cabin. Also, there is a private guestroom with private entrance on the second floor above the workshop/cabin combination. . We have a lot you can be involved in, knowledge to share, friendships to build, and opportunities for growth. Below are our routines and some projects. We would love to involve you! - Caring for our honey bees, chickens, cats...
