PLEASE READ MY WHOLE HOST PROFILE BEFORE YOU APPLY TO VISIT MY PLACE AND ASK ABOUT ANYTHING YOUR NOT CLEAR ON. Need help with a garden clean up, at the moment. You don't need to have an overwhelming desire to save the world, live off the land, or be more useful than a Swiss army knife, to stay here. A nice honest person is good enough. This is a relaxing place, close to nature, away from the backpacker trail on the coast but still got a bit happening, somewhere to recharge your batteries, do a bit of work, have a laugh and meet some real Aussies, maybe get out of your comfort zone a bit😜 My place is a cattle farm with one rough headed, skinny, old farmer, one dog, some cattle, lots of birds and wildlife, relaxing place, near Kyogle, a quiet country town. It is 1.5 hours drive west from Byron Bay, 2 hours south of Brisbane by train. Very close to the beautiful Border Ranges National Park (bike ride away). I like to show people around. There is a mountain on my farm with lots of t...

This is where you come when you’re finished with the norm and its systems. Thinking outside the box and voluntary simplicity inform my life. There is joy in the cycles of life. There are lambs and baby rabbits. The kale and chard are blooming to reseed. Spring is blooming and the tree frogs are singing. Im planning on creating a new chicken house this year. If you’re capable with a hammer and saw, have I got stuff for you to do 😎 im not looking for a professional carpenter. This is git er dun, use what you have type building. People wanting to learn gardening and food ways are always welcome- carpentry skills UN nescessary. I live off-grid in a 240 sq ft hand built caravan. I am practicing sustainability thru permaculture. my farm garden is beyond organic, relying on natures synergy. It is my dream to be fully self sufficient in food and herbs. also in the dream-works are an outdoor summer kitchen, a solar oven, a solar water heater for the caravan, more food forest which includes...

Our home is our little piece of paradise. We look out over the Mahau Sound. There are kayaks so you can explore the Mahau Sound. You will get a wet bottom but the time spent exploring will make that worth while. At night time it is a short walk to see the glow worms sprinkled along the banks at the top of the drive. Your bed is comfortable, the washing machine is there for you to use, and the food is great. Luna will love it if you throw her stick so she can chase it. There is always something to do here. Getting rid of wilding pines is our next main project. Weeding, watering, planting, clearing the tracks of fallen leaves and fern fronds etc. On the track to Lone Pine Point we are revitalising the bank and have been planting native plants. We use a lot of firewood during the cooler months so firewood will be on the job list, if Brian has cut down a tree. If it is raining then we will organise some inside jobs. Maybe a bit of interior painting. It is preferred that you have ...

It is a great place to come to meet other like-minded people if you are passionate about sustainability and alternative living. We hold community meetings throughout the week alongside activities and workshops, such as quiz nights, dance nights and yoga classes. We're a Dutch couple in our 50s who are trading the rat race for a slower, richer life in rural Spain. Our finca near Vinaròs has a mandarin orchard, vegetable garden, olive trees and plenty of projects to work on together. We are learning Spanish and we love to practice every day. If you speak Spanish — perfect! That is a big plus for us and we will really appreciate it. What you'll help with - Morning tasks in the orchard and vegetable garden (weeding, irrigation checks) - General farm and building maintenance - DIY projects - Cooking a warm lunch together Because of the summer heat, outdoor work is mostly done in the cooler morning hours. What we offer A comfortable glamping setup in our olive orchard — two sleeping cabins with terrace, fan, shower/toilet, small kitchen area and WiFi. Breakfast and dinner ingredients provided. Warm lunch cooked together daily (meat/poultry/fish, vegetables and carbs). Bicycles to reach the beach (4-5 km) and town. The area The area has a lot ...

Gardening, housework, light mechanical, a bit of hunting, all sorts of things, never boring.A wicked sense of humor is a good asset to bring. handy to Routeburn and Greenstone tracks. You will need your own internet connection as I don't supply wifi. A bit isolated, not for the precious, no trophy hunters!! Please don't apply unless you intend to come for a minimum stay of two weeks. One person only. We do not get involved with internships or visa applications. Vegetarians and vegans would probably not be comfortable as we eat meat daily. I am off grid and totally dependent on solar, so you have to charge your devices during the day and definitely no hairdryers! Accommodation is a house bus in warmer weather or a room in the house in winter, not shared usually. Lastly I also play the guitar (badly) and sing (worse) but it's all about smile not style :-) , please don't come if you have a heavy cold or flu, I'm involved with the elderly. Cheers Al

June 2026 update. Carpentry help, painting, gardening, Carpentry Gardening Painting Building Hello, I am an Irish woman renovating a 170yr old cottage in the woods in Värmland. We have converted the attic into a lovely bright and spacious 50m2 room that would be plenty of space for 2-3 people. There are also plenty of soft green areas for camping and camper van. The surrounding forest is full of gorgeous wandering trails which lead to beautiful crystal clear lakes perfect for swimming. I would appreciate the help of about 1-2 strong people and will provide 3 organic (where possible) vegetarian meals per day, bed with bed linen, and meditation guidance if wished in exchange for 5 hours help per dayo. I'm happy to discuss other fair exchange arrangements in our pre aarrival communication. A carpenter, plumber or electrician would be fantastic!! There's great pizza 2km away or if you are exploring the city of Karlstad (45mins by bus) or Filipstad (20km)there are lots of great...

Hi! I'm Tonje and I moved to my farm in 2020. And there's always a lot to do here. This small farm is in a very small town, by the fjord in Hardanger. Its a good place for hiking and culture. The area is quiet and scenic. The closest cities are Odda and Bergen. The bosses of the house are 4 dogs and 3 cats. Right now I don't have any farm animals of my own. But the neighbor's sheep live here too. I would have been very grateful for various help on my small farm. The work can be very varied. But I need help with maintenance of the outdoor area, wood working, chopping firewood and snow shoveling. I also have an airbnb, so cleaning, organize and tidying jobs are also tasks that I may need help with. Help are appreciated a lot. For your help, I can offer beautiful scenery, food and a private bedroom.

Hi everyone! We have a beautiful property a short walk/drive away from a gorgeous New Zealand beach. We live 45 minutes from Hamilton and 20-25 minutes from Raglan. Our area is very remote - we have some neighbours but there are no shops here or public transport, just farmland. So if you enjoy being away from cities and people then this is the place for you! Our property suits people who enjoy the outdoors and surfing, hiking, walking, animals, solitude. There is a beautiful mountain right by our house for hiking, great surfing and fishing in the area, and Raglan (a little over 20 minutes away) which is a vibrant and energetic little beach town with world famous surf. This exchange is for accommodation only. We have a cabin with a big bed and beautiful views of the farmland and mountain and sea. There is a kitchenette for you to keep and cook your own food. The bathroom is about 20 metres away from the cabin and it is a composting toilet with shower that does the job but is gravity-f...

Travelers should choose my place because it offers a calm, friendly, and comfortable home in the Dublin Suburbs 10 minute train ride to City Centre. You’ll be surrounded by plants, nature, and good company 🌿. The tasks are light and relaxed. You’ll also learn practical gardening tips and horticultural knowledge in a cozy, welcoming environment. It’s an ideal place for volunteers who enjoy peaceful living, meaningful conversations, and a warm home atmosphere. I am a well organized and responsible person. I’m an easy-going, friendly host who enjoys gardening and evening chats 😊. I value respect, honesty, and a relaxed environment. Volunteers can expect to be treated kindly and fairly, with plenty of support and patience. House also has a permanent tenant, Gloria from Italy (early 30's) who has been here over a year. The help is quite easy and low-stress. I’m happy to share my horticultural knowledge, including tips and tricks for getting the best performance from different plants 🌱. T...

It`s been over 10 years now that we are participating in programs like this. We never get tired of new people staying and having strangers turning into friends. Also our neighbors and others in the village enjoy the exchange. They are always up for a small talk, which is great for you to practice your German! About us: We have organic breed Wagyu Beef (the most expensive meat in the world). There are 3 Horses, gooses, Chicken, sheep and a bunch of Cats that are also part of the Farm. We also grow all sort of crops. Either to feed our animals or to sell them. We also grow apples, plums, pears, potatoes and many other things that grow in a garden. There is never a time during summer where u can not just go outside and eat something straight from where it grows.. Ruesselhausen is a small village. Just perfect to be in the nature. There are bikes for you to use so you can discover the surrounding nature. It would be good if you speak a little German because not all of us speak English. ...

Hi, my name is Sylvia and I'm Dutch. After having lived for the majority of my life in cities I wanted to roam around with Helpx, so I did. However, I fell in love with the first place where I stayed, many years ago. A very small rural village in Bavaria, Germany, at the Czech border. I rented the huge house and intend to stay here, with my little dog, for the rest of my life. It’s a beautiful hilly area and the forests invite for long walks in which you may spot deer, lynxes, boars and other animals. Public transport ends in Weiden (train) or Lohma (bus), but I have a car, can pick you up and drop you off. Plenty to see within reasonable distance like Nuremberg, Regensburg, Munich, and Prague. Ski and snowboard centre at 7 km distance and lots of others a bit further away. In the holiday season, Christmas markets can be found everywhere. You will have your own room (with WIFI) and a shared bathroom, and you are welcome to the rest of the house too. I‘ll try to cook for you what you...

This is a traditional family-owned farm which, after years of abandonment, is currently being re-imagined as a sustainable and environmentally-conscious community. Located just 3km from the beach, where the Pampa plain meets the rugged coastline of the Argentinian Atlantic. We are passionate about agriculture, surfing, music, travel, nature and the environment, who want to create a communal space where people from around the world can come to learn about sustainable living and ecological ideals; share delicious organic food from the gardens; surf; tell stories; share knowledge, ideas, culture and language; learn about farming, the environment, or just relax and enjoy the farm and surrounds. The project is in its early stages and we are looking for energetic and responsible individuals wanting to experience and contribute to rural life and communal living close to nature. We are looking for self-motivated individuals to help us out with daily tasks such as helping in the kitchen, kee...

****taking bookings for July/August 2026**** I have been a Helpx and similar host for 12 years and have really enjoyed meeting, mentoring and sharing my life with so many travellers from every corner of the world. In January 2025, I started a new adventure, moving from Lowden Ridge, my beautiful scenic 100 acre working farm (where i maintained a productive olive grove and also raised cattle, sheep and goats), to a much smaller and tranquil 8 acre hobby farm which I have nicknamed Shady Acres. The new property is set amongst a majestic grove of eucalyptus trees, and is located in Irish Town, just 5 minutes north of the town of Donnybrook. In the last 16 months, with the help of some wonderful backpackers, I have built new fences, new veggie gardens, started a new orchard of fruit and nut trees, built small shelters for the goats and revamped the old chicken coop. I am currently seeking helpers to continuing growing my new farm. Some of the projects planned in the coming months i...

Small lifestyle block with fantastic views 10 minutes drive from Tauranga city. We have two children aged 8 and 6. Both of us parents work and are hoping for some help with keeping the house tidy, help with yard work and help with the children. If you enjoy gardening and cooking you will fit in well. Our usual arrangement would be for 4 hours or work per day for room and meals. We would be looking for someone to join us for up to 2 weeks, perhaps longer of it was working out well. Our property is in the countryside so a car would be required. The place is comfortable, warm and dry and with excellent views, a pool and a gym. We cook well and enjoy good conversation. No smokers, no pets, polite and easy-going people only please.

Hello. I’m Paolo, a recently retired musician. I live in a mountain area made of rounded, wooded peaks in the inland of the Italian Riviera, at the point of connection between two regions, Tuscany and Liguria, widely renown for art towns (Pisa, Lucca, Florence among others) and picturesque fishing villages. It’s a quiet setting to get away from it all, with a 360 degree view stretching for tens of miles and right down to the Mediterranean Sea, only 25 km/15 miles away. Here is where the Alta Via (High Route of the Ligurian Mountains) starts, a long-distance waymarked hiking trail for nature lovers. I speak Italian (native), English (fluent) and French (fluent). I’m looking for volunteers who are self-motivated and good with their hands, willing to help me with general maintenance around my property in exchange for food and lodging in a friendly environment. I appreciate a baggage of life experience that is not too small, so volunteers in their mid to late twenties at least and in t...

In 2005, my husband Terje and I, became the proud owners of this place and we spent the next 15 years renovating the property. Today we offer short-term accommodation in this historical building. Guests come to visit from all over the world. They come to Odda and the Hardanger area to experience and explore our unique landscape with glaziers, fjords, mountains, waterfalls, valleys and lakes. Hiking to Trolltunga is undoubtedly the most popular of the tourist attractions offered here in Odda. Other less famous attractions are just as breath-taking. We are a family of seven, with four daughters and a foster son, but our three eldest daughters have recently moved out to work and study. We would be most grateful if you would like to come and live with us, and help us with the housekeeping; cleaning, change of bedlinen, reception work, payments, as well as maintenance, carpentry, painting, gardening, childcare, pet care, and other activities like going fishing and having fun. Hi, we are a family that lives in the south of Italy in the beautiful region of Puglia; in the countryside but not too far from the sea. We have a family-run business in the Cisternino countryside, with holiday homes for tourists, riding stables and recreational activities. Looking for a person who can help in various activities; really interested in the life of the campaign and learning different tasks such as: carpentry, wrought iron, construction, painting, maintenance of the garden and agriculture, but also request for help in the relationship and management of tourists who stay with us. Excellent opportunity for those looking for complete experiences in the field of crafts and tourism and in the relationship with nature and animals. Having 4 children already, we only look for completely independent and flexible people. Musicians and artists in general are welcome (Juan the owner is also a musician). There is a chance to learn how to work wood and iron and many other things. It's ...

Olá, calling for some help in Central Portugal. We have a rural land next to a lake. Part of it I have been rewilding to protect the original Nature. The land belongs to my parents, but I'm living in its old house and doing the clearing after the big storm, Kristine. I'm a Portuguese female in my late forties. I returned to Portugal after living in the UK for several years (to be honest, I'm still adjusting to living again in Portugal, not an easy country... :) After the big storm, the land became a bit of a chaos with fallen trees and branches. Most of the clearing of the branches is done. But still there is a lot to be done, to decrease the risk of fires. I need an extra pair of hands to help with the clearing of the land. I just need a person to come for the day to help for one or two hours, whatever you can give. The rest of the day you can enjoy yourself as you please, in the lake or walking around. I also will need the presence of a person while I am operating the shreddi...

Nestled in the coastal range of Mendocino County, California (about 45 minutes Northwest of Ukiah) we are establishing a small farm and wildlife sanctuary.  Based on principles of sustainability & permaculture our expanding ridge top garden and orchards consist of a variety of fruits, veggies, herbs and flowers.  Aside from garden and orchard tasks additional projects may include gathering seaweed and other native wild foods, cooking, canning, fermenting foods, making herbal preparations, habitat restoration, brush and trail clearing, small scale green building and learning how to build and maintain an off-grid infrastructure and solar system. Please read all of our information before contacting us. We require a one month minimum stay, and currently we have space beginning July 1st. Our homestead is remote and therefore not for everyone. We prefer those who want to unplug and enjoy the serenity of a mountain forest. If you are open minded, love to be out doors, want to get your ha...

We are a small, dedicated group of volunteers building an open community of higher learning where art, aesthetics, movement, and deep conversations are as important as academic content. Our castle in the Ardennes is an oasis of free speech—a place where students, volunteers, and academics can challenge each other to grow intellectually, emotionally, and spiritually. Why Volunteer With Us? Since opening our doors in September 2024, we’ve been shaping Academia Libera Mentis into a thriving environment for education and self-discovery. To ensure we can welcome 40 students in the fall of 2026, we’re continuing our renovations and creative projects, and we’d love your help! Volunteer Tasks & Contributions We invite motivated and open-minded volunteers to assist with: ✅ Renovation & Maintenance – Painting, decorating, light construction ✅ Gardening & Landscaping – Maintaining our beautiful surroundings ✅ Creative & Artistic Projects – Murals, interior design, DIY furniture ✅ Community Sup...
