Hello Potential Volunteers My name is Paul and it was my dream to change my lifestyle from being an office worker to becoming an alpaca farmer.... here we are 14 years later with 100 alpacas, each individually cherishes with names and unique personalities, plus an assortment of other animals all needing our love :) I have three children: Liam (21), Dylan (9) and Oscar (6), and our 100-acre farm is home to approx.100 alpacas, plus llamas, peacocks, hens, mini pigs, a cat named Sexy, and our farm dog Malta. This year we are expecting 20 'cria' (baby alpacas) and each one will need our help so they can thrive! We need to ensure they get colostrum (filled with antibodies and vital for good health) – have they fed from their mums within the first 24hrs? Are they then drinking enough milk from their mums every day? Are they gaining weight? The well-being of my animals is the most important thing on the farm. Do they have good food and enough water, and the best possible natural environme...

Looking for a couple or singles for general cleaning and assistance with renovation of my dual apartment complex I am looking to gut one of the units, renovate 2 bathrooms so lots of different types of work avaialle getting the unit ready for the builder. In addition, basic cleaning, gardening and minor maintenance work in exchange for a stay in a 2.2 million dollar house with views to die for. Folks always are amazed at the quality of the units which are located on the top of Bowen Hills 2km from the city, 300 metres from the train station, 200 metres for Gaswork shopping complex, 250 metres from Aldi. My arrangement is usually 5 days of working per week (weekend or flexible days off), 4 hours of work per day per person, in exchnage for accommodation and general basic food (no alcohol/no takeaway), with reimbursement of receipts. The timing of the work can be flexible but if it is noisy it needs to be done between 9 am and 5 pm. Usually: looking for a labourer, tradie/handy perso...

I'm Thanasis, a 45 years old greek man living in the South of the Peloponnes. I'm a farmer, with oranges trees and some olive trees. I also have a shop, mainly selling coffee that I roast on site. I need help all the year to maintain the big farm (orange and olive harvest, trees pruning, pick-up fallen oranges, and so on..) If you come, you will have your own room (1 for a couple or separate), and access to all the rest of the house (kitchen, bathroom...). I like to share the meal, and provide food if you want to cook. You also can use WI-FI connection. You could enjoy the life between the farm and the city of Skala Lakonia, wich offer a lot of coffee shop, restaurants, and any kind of stores. Minimum stay is 2 weeks, to allow time to learn about life on the farm. I need help for a maximum of 5 hours per day, 5 days per week, depending on the weather. I really like to meet new people and introduce them to Greece history. I practice karaté (three times per week) and would be happy t...

Welcome to Paradise! Do you want an authentic Amazon Jungle experience? OUR FARM- The farm is 400m high in the foothills of the Andes Mountains in the Amazon Rainforest, surrounded by wild jungle & other village farms. We are far away from the city and enjoy fresh air, natural spring water and quiet tranquility. A great place for star gazing! There are many rare birds, butterflies and wild animals in the surrounding jungle. We practice organic farming. Pick your own fresh fruits. We have a tree nursery and reforestation project, some (stingless) bees, chickens, dogs and cats. We produce coconut oil (not every week) and many natural products like soap here. We make woven products from platano trees, ceramics plates, cups, and bowls etc, as well as teach English to children at a native community nearby. We have been here for more than 10 years. In that time natural healing methods have always been important to us. We have met many natural healers, and have discovered a way of eating ...

For an experience in a farm with horses and dogs, if you love nature and are not afraid of hard work! Here you’ll find silence and peace, and also many splendid places to visit. [UPDATE: We don’t have availability for a position in horse care only. But we have availability for a strong person, hard worker, to help outside with the bush clearing, using the brushcutter, driving the tractor to grind the fields, apart from helping a bit with the animals and the handling of horses. Note that we are very busy during the week, and we can't go and check our emails every day. You might have to wait a bit for an answer. Sorry for this.] We live in a sparsely populated area called Berry located in the center of France between Orléans (60km) and Bourges (50km). The closest city is Gien, 27km away. Just west is the county called Sologne, where nature is all around, though we are at only 2 hours from Paris. East is the Sancerre valley. We are looking for handy volunteers or good riders. Check...

We are a family (Tom, Sonja and our daughter) and we live in the South of Ireland, in the very scenic river Suir valley just 10km outside Waterford City and the nearest village is within walking distance. There is a regular bus service from the Cottage to Waterford City. We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic to experience a very lively international environment and to help us with our guest house, garden, and recently planted forest. We usually are looking for help with greeting guests, tidying up, cleaning, some light gardening, light forest maintenance, and DIY projects with Tom. If you are interested in helping us with this variety of interesting activities, we would love to hear from you. There is no need for prior experience, just an interest to learn new skills and good physical condition would be absolutely sufficient. If you like animals, we have two lovely ponies, several dogs & cats, and a few chickens and we are always happy to have help with looking after them,...

🌿 Come help on our farm! We need friendly volunteers to join us with cooking, cleaning, gardening, and everyday tasks — no experience needed, just a good attitude and willingness to muck in.We are looking for helpers between the ages of 16 to 32. We are a small community of friends working towards a better life in a beautiful part of rural Devon, in the Tamar River Valley Estuary where you will make friends for life. In exchange for your friendship while you are staying here we will endeavour to teach you new skills that will carry you through life. A small farm in a beautiful location! Our farm and home probably date back to pre 1660's, with many additions since. It has been left to go wild for the last 40 years. The river has otters, seals, beavers, salmon, sea trout, and sea bass. With buzzards and owls overhead. There are deer in the surrounding woodland. The aim for our farm is to give the land back to nature and at the same time create an organic food source that we can freely ...

I can't see the world, but the world can come see me. First and foremost, I want to thank all the helpers who came from United Kingdom-England, France, Belgium, Italy, China, Japan, Australia and New Zealand. Welcome Helpers. We are a family of 5 living in the Appalachian Mountains of West Virginia. Sue is the founder of Peaceful Hollow. Also, there is an private guestroom with private entrance on the second floor above the workshop/cabin combination. . We are a nonprofit horse rehabilitation center that offers rescue, education on equine care. We need hands on to help with projects we are working on to complete as well as facility maintenance. Would love to have some energetic people that want to make a difference in horses lives here. It’s about helping these animals go from neglect to finding a forever home or live their lives in Sanctuary. You don't have to have experience we can teach you. If working hands on with horses is not your thing and you admire them there's lots of things you can still do to help them prepare for homes or help at the facility. What we are not: We are not a riding stables. We give lessons when able after all chores completed and trainer is here on certain days and during certain times of the year. So if your intention is to spend lots of time "in the saddle" we don't do that here. We aren't a "working ranch" for people to ride horses all day and move cattle, ride trails, etc. We are not a fancy stab...

The helper accommodation is a double room in a 200 year old Cotswold stone house located in a small village near Stroud. There’s woodland above and it’s in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty backing on to the Toadsmoor valley. The house is 35 mins walk from Stroud town centre. There are a few shops in the village as well as a pub nearby. The house is surrounded with the hills and countryside on your doorstep and lovely views. From the garden...great for forest walks and exploring the Cotswolds. English, Spanish and French is spoken. I have my child with me half the week.. We aim to work an average of 5 hours per day, 5 days per week in an awake household. The work is varied but currently there are raised beds to make for growing vegetables, a chicken run to make, chickens to feed and care for, gardening, cooking, cleaning , or generally helping with whatever task is being done at the time, though no need of experience as I'm happy to teach techniques. Anyone with motivation ...

Our home is a large old weatherboard house in beautiful Sherbrooke, in the Mount Dandenong Ranges. This dear old place may one-day soon again become guest-house, like it was 100 years ago. Meantime both house and garden need plenty of tender loving care. The hills are a popular destination, with native forests for walking, public gardens, villages, cafes, good coffee, and galleries. See: http://www.villagesofmtdandenong.com.au/ for a look at the attractions. Sherbrooke itself is made up of a state forest and a mountain village. It is recognised internationally as the home of the Lyrebird, and many native birds visit us daily. Sherbrooke is one hour drive east of Melbourne city, or 1 hour on the train from Melbourne to nearby Belgrave. As a busy professional household, in recent years we have been grateful for helpers' assistance with yard-work, household chores, firewood management and painting. We have a large organic home fruit and vegetable garden. Skills needed now include ga...

Not accepting helpers at this time! Welcome to your lovely large house and garden in the Loire Valley at the edge of the typically French village of Langeais (including Renaissance château, near the autoroutes, with SNCF train station offering regular service to Tours/Saumur/Angers and easy connection to Paris). As with all older homes, it needs some love and care :) The house is owned by Patrick, from London, who sometimes hosts paying guests, and is managed by his friend Brodie, from New York. You will have your own en suite bedroom (single in the pictures, double if you are a couple) with shared meals and drinks in exchange for an average of 4 hours of work per day of your stay. Depending on your desires, skills, and the weather, the work may alternate between landscape gardening (weeding, trimming, tackling brambles, mowing) or house maintenance (indoor/outdoor painting, deep-cleaning, organisation). We'll agree on the length of your stay from the beginning, depending on what wor...

My name is Esperanza, I run a language school. I'm looking for an easy going native English speaker to help us with conversation classes and different activities. It is a great educational project where we aim to develop students interest in the language in a natural way. We live in a nice area surrounded by mountains, our house is big , so we recently started an online rental program to meet new people from all over the world. The language school is 8 minutes away on foot from our house. I live with my son, Mikel, who is a university student. While you stay with us, you will be able to take part in lots of activities. Zalla is a town with lots of facilities where you can do nearly everything you can imagine. If you are interested in learning Spanish, we will be more than happy to help you! We live 20 minutes from Bilbao in a lovely town called Zalla. There is a good bus/train service to Bilbao. Volunteers also can visit, Santander, San Sebastian, Burgos, Pamplona either of these ci...

In most local families in our community there are many children and youth who don't have motivation with education, even their parent they are not motivated to take them to school, therefore you will see many children and youth in the street loosing opportunity of getting education. Hei ! Here is Ingunn and Mathieu. We are a Norwegian-French couple and since mai 2021 a happy family of three. Our family house "Karnes Gaard" is a farm since the 16th century. In 1912, Ingunn's grand father gave part of the land for the Tromsø county to build "Solhov", prestigious boarding school and largest wooden building north of Trondheim. When Ingunn took over the farm in 2009, running it organically felt something obvious. And when Solhov was for sale the next year, a dream became possible : sharing our love for the Lyngen Alps by hosting guests who seek breathtaking surroundings, healthy stay and organic local food, peaceful lifestyle and carbon-free activities. Our dream is to serve as much as possible our organic and local products to these guests. Originally we grow potatoes and strawberries. We are trying several small scale production to see what is possible to grow here up north. At the moment, we are focusing in : - increasing our honeybees park, hives and flowers -...

Our farm is in the mountains of Lares, a rural region in the center of the Caribbean Island of Puerto Rico. A town well known for the rebellion insurgency called "El Grito de Lares", also well known for the coffee plantations and the culinary festivities. Lares has great rivers, beautiful sceneries and nice climate. In this great countryside we manage an agricultural, educational and community project, Proyecto Agroecológico Campesino/PAC. Our mission has been to produce food in a sustainable way, facilitate a practical learning farm for students and share knowledge with the community. For this we work in the transformation of two acres, in an integral farm where combines crop production, animal husbandry, resource management, restoration of soil and ecosystems, inspired by the agroecological principles. We live in a fun share house in Maryborough, Miss Poppins Town, with awesome meals and a big edible garden. We're Mars, the owner of the property and Tracy, a former theatre/restaurant owner who's cooking the most awesome meals and looking after everyone like a mum. There're 2 adorable dogs in the family, so you must be a dog lover. We need help with building and creating, and with an awesome but overgrown garden. In addition, we're about to put 12v solar power into the rooms, also natural air-conditioning and are finishing up the spar bath in the 2nd bathroom... so there's a bit for you to learn and lots of knowledge to take home. We have had great experiences with travellers so far as Mars's former partner has been on HelpX for quite some time. Maryborough is only 30 minutes away from Hervey Bay with beautiful beaches overlooking Frazer Island. Maryborough is a beautiful old heritage town with a lot of old buildings and parks all around. We're just a few metres away from the Mary ...

Hola todas! My place is an old grain mill with half a hectare of land. I live here for more than 17 years and hosted manyn volunteers. Work is mostly in the garden. Weeding, digging, planting, watering, harvesting and off course eating. There is a big cat family living on the land. Help in the kitchen is welcome. Special dietary requirements must be met by the helpers. In the area there are many activities possible. More yoga teachers than there are yoga students. Meditations, dancing, healing, massage, channeling, singing,....! Many communities of all sorts (hippy, midwives, subud, soefie). Hiking in all directions. Even skiing starting beginning of December. I try to keep a healthy environment, so no drugs that cloud your spirit. No dogs either. People mostly stay between one and two weeks. Work is about 5 days a week, 4 hours a day. Food and lodging included. Flexible. Work depends on peoples abilities. Any questions? Always happy to explain! Ruud

Hello Everyone, We've been hosting through helpx for over 10 years. We enjoy learning about cultures and people from all over the world. We have the pleasure of living on 350+ acres of natural bush country in Brooweena, Queensland. We have converted a bus to a tiny home, and we are currently building a shipping container home, this is a priority and would love people to help. We also grow a lot of our own food and have fruit trees. We are 100% off-grid with all our electricity from solar and tanks, dam, and rain for water. We have a friendly dog who loves to play. Our goal is to be as self-sufficient as possible, improve the soil, and regenerate the land to a healthy ecosystem. We use Permaculture Design methods. This means we don't use any chemical sprays, artificial fertilizer or mono-cropping on our land and live the values of Earth Care, People Care and Fair Share. It's a very exciting time for us to be embarking on our farming adventure, and we would like to share this t...

Her daughter Ruth moved to the Hollow later as well as her husband Tim and their 2 daughters. Our hollow is quite with no neighbors in sight. Also, there is an private guestroom with private entrance on the second floor above the workshop/cabin combination. . We have a lot you can be involved in, knowledge to share, friendships to build, and opportunities for growth. Below are our routines and some projects.

We are in the process of renovating an old house in the Pyrenees. There is only decorating to do such as stripping paint of walls and woodwork, and repainting. There might be the occasional carpentry to do also, nothing too complicated. We need help 5 hours per day, five days per week. Weeding, pruning trees, making paths. We are looking for help from two strong and healthy individuals to assist with a house redecorating project and gardening, trimming trees, path making etc. This requires physical strength and stamina. The school teaches children from Kindergarten (3-5 years old) to Secondary School (15 years old). We need Volunteers who would like to teach basic English or basic Chinese. Your work is mainly with the youngest children, using flash cards, games, songs and puzzles. We play to learn! Because it is a school we would appreciate you staying for at least a 2 week minimum so that the students can get to know you and we can have time to show you our beautiful countryside and attractions. We invite you to join us on our every day activities to build a sustainable farm and to share knowledge and experiences. The accommodation includes a private room with kitchen, bat...
