Our farm is in a remote and magical scenic area of the outer Marlborough Sounds. We have a number of cattle and their calves, hens, our dog Trixie, our cat Elmo, 2 friendly pet sheep, Ivan and Mavis. There are always interesting things that need attending to on the farm and in our vegetable garden. We have many areas of garden and regenerating native bush. Plenty of variety on the projects. We have good beaches and nice walks. Your own transport is the easiest or there is a passenger service from Rai Valley Village. Check out our website if you need public transport and you can message us anytime. GENERAL INFORMATION We grow most of our own vegetables. We make compost and use animal manures as fertilisers. With winter we action a great progressive project to plant and regenerate areas with hundreds of native trees. Creating windbreaks, animal shelter, and native bird habitat. Come and join in on a creative and rewarding project. We generally work 4-5 hours a day. We have clean and ...

We are looking for two people with building and practical experience with building or fencing, building steps, planting/gardening and who enjoy physical, mostly outdoor work. Our jobs require practical experience, or willingness to learn - gardening, cleaning, spraying, weed-eating, washing the house, windows etc. We don't currently have airbnb guests so you would get to stay in the luxury airbnb unless we get a booking, then you would either sleep in a sofa bed in the cabin or if you prefer your van and just use our shared spaces. We love hosting travelers and enjoy also getting jobs done on our list. With having 10 acres to care for, there is always something to do. Ideally you would have a vehicle as we do live rurally. We will give you food and accommodation in exchange for 4 hours of work. We love having first time helpers and help you map out your journey in the north or just help you get used to being in NZ. Chris loves playing games and we also have a hot tub. Mos...

i now live with my partner and two children . We have recently decided that over spring and summer we are open to taking a single person to help on our small farmlet . Jobs mainly based around weeding , firewood , and also taking care and looking after our 3.5 year old boy . We would be looking at 2 to 3 hours work during the mourning in exchange for accomadation that being a sleep out with comfortable bed and toilet, small fridge. The child is easy to look after basically just needs keeping an eye on and entertaining . Sumone with own transport is prefered simply as then you will be able to go and explore in the afternoons . The stay would be accomadation only however if there is an excess of seasonal foods or eggs its fine to help yourself . The bathroom is inside as is the kitchen , we have a make yourself at home attitude with the thoughts of how much you interact with out family outside of work hours completly up to the individual . We have a dog , chicken , ducks, two beef sto...

** CURRENTLY LOOKING FOR HELP** Hi, welcome to NZ, and hopefully to Kōpuaranga, Masterton! Our home out of site of other houses, so a rural experience, views and usually a great night sky are guaranteed - yet still only a ten minute drive to our service town of Masterton which has rail links to Wellington. An easy pick up or drop off if you do not have your own vehicle. We are located just a 1.5 hour drive north of Wellington off State Highway 2. Masterton is central to a lot of walks, mountains rivers and coastline and some beach/ surf communities too. We have a river boundary with trout and eels, and it is great for a speedy dip on the hot days before the nature gets too curious! We have now been on this property for 18 months, so much has been achieved with HelpX travel friends, but we are only half way through... Outside we are building bird rearing pens, raising chickens and sheep, and further developing our produce and ornamental gardens. Inside we are wallpaper stripping...

We milk 70 cows, and 600 goats and work about 400 acres. Now that I have full time staff doing the majority of the milking and barn work, the work is mostly in the workshop and the fields. We always have an interesting project on the go so I particularly enjoy hosting helpers with engineering or mechanical backgrounds.. I enjoy inventing things and automation, with a well equipped (though somewhat disorganized) workshop. Planning to clear some land this summer so someone with heavy equipment experience would be great. Have a barn renovation and equipment installation coming up, so give me a shout if you’re a carpenter or mechanic! Have been hosting engineering students for their internship abroad the last few summers, has been a great experience, they are always welcome. About me (Josef), I was born in Switzerland and am fluent in Swiss German, I am learning Spanish and have a very limited understanding of French. I have travelled a bit myself, doing two harvest tours in the west...

Permaculture project with idea and space to create an eco-village. The quinta is located in Alto Alentejo 2km from Portalegre. 15 hectares with magical forests and a beautiful valley provided by seventeen sources and several mines with healthy water where too people live permanently for the moment,Isabel, a communication manager and Michel, a carpenter who is the founder of the project. There is also one dog, five cats, for chickens and six sheep. The project is now in the phase when it’s open so that more people can live here. Because parts of the ruins are ready for occupancy, there is space for people who want to stay longer, which can bring new and stronger dynamics throughout the year, not like before, when there was only a lot going on in the summer months. So far there is already a beautiful gardens going on and numerous species of plants, shrubs and trees which deliver us plenty of food. We are happy when someone shows enthusiasm for the garden because this is a central part...

HAPPY end of SUMMER 2026. Autumn is creeping up quickly… Lots to do before the rainy season kick in towards the end of the year… Things have been moving along, slow but meticulously! It feels good to be making progress and I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel…on my sailboat. There are plenty of volunteer opportunities; a lot to do, at any skill level. Many projects take only 5-30 minutes to explain and easy for someone new to do the specific project well. Other projects require knowledgeable skills and other projects necessitate someone that has a fair amount of specific experience. Anyone that volunteers on my sailboat can join me sailing once my boat is back in the water later this year or at some other point in the future! I anticipate my boat will be back in the water by late Autumn. If this interest you, or you have questions, contact me through HelpX or call me direct via my mobile phone (also WhatsApp number). Below is a list of some of the projects I ...

Gardening, housework, light mechanical, a bit of hunting, all sorts of things, never boring.A wicked sense of humor is a good asset to bring. handy to Routeburn and Greenstone tracks. You will need your own internet connection as I don't supply wifi. A bit isolated, not for the precious, no trophy hunters!! Please don't apply unless you intend to come for a minimum stay of two weeks. One person only. We do not get involved with internships or visa applications. Vegetarians and vegans would probably not be comfortable as we eat meat daily. I am off grid and totally dependent on solar, so you have to charge your devices during the day and definitely no hairdryers! Accommodation is a house bus in warmer weather or a room in the house in winter, not shared usually. Lastly I also play the guitar (badly) and sing (worse) but it's all about smile not style :-) , please don't come if you have a heavy cold or flu, I'm involved with the elderly. Cheers Al

My name is Paul. About 17 years ago I had this slightly crazy dream of changing my life from being an office worker to becoming an alpaca farmer in the Swedish countryside. Somehow, 17 years later, here we are :) Norrängens is our 100-acre farm just outside Sala, about an hour from Stockholm. We have around 70 alpacas, plus llamas, peacocks, hens, rabbits, a turkey, my cat Sexy, the kids’ cat Vernon and Malta, our farm dog. I have three children, Liam (22), Dylan (13) and Oscar (10). Liam has grown up and moved away from home. Dylan and Oscar live between me and their mum, although sometimes they seem to spend more time here :) When they’re here they’re part of farm life and help out when they can. This is our home and our little family as well as being a farm. Things are quite different here from a few years ago. We used to run a much bigger and busier tourism operation. These days things are smaller and quieter. The economy has been a bit of a struggle, if I’m honest, and this y...

Overview: We are a Tibetan Buddhist Centre that welcomes HelpX volunteers interested in learning more about meditation, Buddhism and the spiritual life. Jobs are mainly cleaning, gardening and grounds work. We offer accommodation usually in our dorm room and free attendance at classes & meditations. Volunteers are responsible for their own food - but are welcome to also use the veggies in the veggie garden (seasonal). We are a Registered Charitable Trust and rely on volunteers and donations. We do not have a large budget and are unable to provide food money to short-term volunteers. This is really a place for those that wish to learn more about Buddhism, live in our community and offer service for a short period (2 - 3 weeks). Living at a Buddhist Centre we ask you to respect the Lay Buddhist Precepts during your stay (ex. no killing, no lying, no stealing, no taking intoxicants, etc.) and be respectful of Centre residents. 4 good hours of work per day, 2 days off per week. Length o...

Come to the eastern part of Germany and join our life. Please read our profile in detail first before you send us a message. We are a family of 3: Kerstin (58), Carsten (58) and Christopher (31). We live in a village on an estate that was a farm in the past. The village is situated 60 km from Dresden, 100 km from Leipzig and 170 km from Berlin in a national park. We have cats that live with us, too. We invite you into our home and accept you as part of our family. We do our best to make you feel at home and appreciate any additional assistance. If you join us it will be fun, promise. Our place is for genuine travellers who want to learn more about Germany and experience staying with an East German family. It is not for those looking just for food and accommodation. Important: We often share meals together, depending on our schedules. This is not a full-board arrangement, so volunteers should be able to plan and provide their own food too. Much help is needed in and around the h...

We are a married couple with a son aged 29 and daughter aged 27 We live in the village of Dornie close to Eilean Donan Castle (the one in Highlander) in an old croft house on the shore of a sea loch in the West Highlands of Scotland. We need help to maintain the house, garden and occasionally a historic wooden boat. We recycle old materials wherever possible and have to work to budget as no profit is made from these activities. Most of the tasks are outdoors, the weather can be very bad at any time of year so flexibility with volunteering hours is required.

Hi! We've had a few Helpers (WOOFERS) and have really enjoyed the experience. I believe they have enjoyed their stay too. Our next available slot for Helpers will be mid-late October 2026. Our adult kids have moved out (one into Hamilton, the other over to Sydney), so it's just the two of us in a 5-bedroom house. We live on a rural lifestyle property, which is a 10-15 minute drive outside Hamilton city and a one-hour drive south of Auckland Airport. The property is just under 1 hectare - one-third is grounds and garden, and two-thirds is paddocks. We run 4 alpacas. We also have a cat called Bella and a huski-shepherd cross dog called Kayla that both live in the house so Helpers must be comfortable around cats and dogs. We're looking for guests to help around the house (cleaning, gardening, etc.) and property, which might include feeding and handling the alpacas (under our direction). We would also love it if you would cook an evening meal or two. If the Helpers are comfortable w...

Sawasdee. To all beautiful people in the world, greeting from Thailand, I am Sunee , 69 years old from Thailand and I work as a member of an English support group in Phichit province ,after I had retired from a government position. My group aims to help develop the foreign languages (mainly English and Chinese) in schools so we need volunteers to work with us. In these schools, we provide the opportunity for the students in the remote areas to study and can communicate in English and other languages. At the moment we also provide Chinese language in schools because of the need from the parents so not only English teachers we do need Chinese teachers. And in some schools, we put more English and Chinese lessons for the students. That is the reason why we do need teachers to help teaching English and other languages (Chinese Vietnamese Japanese etc.)to our students. Our schools are in the villages far from the towns that is why there is no chance for the students to practice speaking Engl...

Hi you young and beautiful travelers, Bundaberg is a less known touristic town, with a mild climate, beautiful beaches and wonderful surroundings. It is also an agricultural country town with many backpackers hostels . With a bit of lack there might be opportunities for paid work on a farm. It’s only 350km north of Brisbane and easily reachable by train. My home is only a few minutes drive from the town center, yet secluded and peaceful, sitting on 2.5 acres. I am looking for people who would like to visit this promising coastal town and help with general house and backyard maintenance, around 4 -5 hours a day, 6 days a week. The person helping me will have a home away from home and a cosy room to rest in. I am hoping he/she will treat the place with respect and consideration, observing the few requirements related to the use of bathroom and kitchen. Otherwise, regretfully, we will have to part ways sooner then expected. A good home cooked meal and an occasional glass of wine is...

SORRY BUT I AM NOT HOSTING HELPERS AGAIN UNTIL SEPTEMBER 2026. I own a 15 acre lifestyle farm overlooking the sea at Kuaotunu on the beautiful Coromandel Peninsula. I have 6 Alpacas, 2 cattle, 1 cat and 1 dog. I would like help to care for the gardens, grounds, 2 glamping sites and animals. I offer 3 good meals and morning tea per day, and accommodation in a caravan, in return for 4.5 hours work per day that you are with me. If you wish to work a full day and have a full day off, I will do my best to accommodate that. The property has stunning close views of the sea and islands, a Pa site (a high hill where there was once a fortified Maori village)and is about 10-15 minutes walk down to the beach. Kuaotunu village is very small but is in a beautiful location with a general store and a very cool rustic beach shack style pizza restaurant - Lukes Kitchen - which has excellent wood fired pizzas and other food and often has live music in the summer. There is also a fabulous cafe - Kua Kawh...

Hi, We're looking for someone from 6-10th September or after the15th September for a week or so. We’re in rural North Canterbury, only 30 mins drive from. We’re on a 10 acre minifarm with a few sheep and young cattle and a large organic vegetable garden which we eat from every day. By car we're about 7 minutes drive to the sea, an hour to Hanmer Springs, 20 minutes from the Waipara Valley vineyard area. We have bicycles you can borrow to explore locally, and if you like hiking up hills there are a few nice tracks in close driving distance. In fact, I like hiking too, so I can maybe be your guide if I'm not otherwise busy. Accommodation is in a comfortable sleepout (queen bed) and you would use the bathroom in the house and share meals with us. You would be helping me in the garden mostly, but also I usually like some help with housework. If you like cooking I have a nice kitchen for it. We would like about 4 hours work per day for food and accommodation... and, in addition, if I...

We're a family of three in Island Bay, with a 7-year-old. We're looking for native French speakers to stay with us (singles, couples or friends). We prefer visitors who want to stay for 5-14 days. We'd like help around the house and garden. You'd have a big bedroom with a queen bed, your own bathroom and sea views. Vegetarian meals provided in exchange for 4hrs work/day, or accommodation only in exchange for 2hrs/day. We're in a great location, close to the beach and a short walk to the Island Bay village, cafes and cinema. We are the best of friends who live together and run a 24-hour restaurant in Oneonta, New York. We built our Deli with our own hands, using old rustic barn wood and other recycled materials. We love working together to serve good, wholesome food in a warm, encouraging environment — a haven from the storms of life. Our community is part of a worldwide network of communities, many of which also run restaurants, organic farms, and cottage industries where volunteers are also welcome to live and work with us. We all work together in our houses and at our Deli. There is a lot to do in maintaining a community. We have two large houses where we live and the Deli always needs constant care and attention. We enjoy having guests and volunteers who want to get to know us by living and working with us. We gather together every morning (at 7am) and evening (at 6pm) to express whatever is on our hearts. We sing a wide variety of songs we've written and we dance there to express our joy. We give...

Welcome to our family-run permaculture farm in the countryside of Bilecik, Türkiye. My name is Selçuk. I started this farm in 2008 after leaving my white-collar career to build a life closer to soil, animals, food, and nature. Today I live here with my wife, Julia, and together we share our daily life and farm activities with guests from different cultures. I have studied Culinary Arts, Agricultural Technologies, and Medicinal and Aromatic Plants. I also hold a Permaculture Design Certificate (PDC) and have training in holistic management. My main interests are animal systems, fermentation, food transformation, and practical permaculture. Real Rural Life Life here is simple and genuinely rural. We do not offer luxury or hotel-style comfort. You will experience the realities of countryside life: animals, soil, mud, changing weather, quiet nights, and days shaped by nature. Guests stay in a simple guest space on the farm. We provide three meals a day and usually eat together. Food ...

I'm Thanasis, a 45 years old greek man living in the South of the Peloponnes. I'm a farmer, with oranges trees and some olive trees. I need help all the year to maintain the big farm (orange and olive harvest, trees pruning, pick-up fallen oranges, and so on..) If you come, you will have your own room (1 for a couple or separate), and access to all the rest of the house (kitchen, bathroom...). I like to share the meal, and provide food if you want to cook. You also can use WI-FI connection. You could enjoy the life between the farm and the city of Skala Lakonia, wich offer a lot of coffee shop, restaurants, and any kind of stores. Minimum stay is 2 weeks, to allow time to learn about life on the farm. I need help for a maximum of 5 hours per day, 5 days per week, depending on the weather. I really like to meet new people and introduce them to Greece history. I practice karaté (three times per week) and would be happy to show you basis if you are interested. If you want to discover...

We are in the process of renovating an old house in the Pyrenees. There is only decorating to do such as stripping paint of walls and woodwork, and repainting. There might be the occasional carpentry to do also, nothing too complicated. We need help 5 hours per day, five days per week. Weeding, pruning trees, making paths. We are looking for help from two strong and healthy individuals to assist with a house redecorating project and gardening, trimming trees, path making etc. This requires physical strength and stamina. PLEASE NOTE WELL: we absolutely cannot host anyone with any pre-existing health issues, physical or mental (we are not medically trained to manage such conditions), such as hay fever, any other allergies, sensitivities or intolerances. We live in a small village with some shops and a climbing centre and a river just opposite the house. We have a quite a size garden where we grow vegetables, fruit bushes and trees. Here, we have spectacular mountain views on our do...

Winter is here and we are not hosting until the days get longer (and warmer) again. Sorry!! Contact us for availability from September onwards. Oamaru, our nearby town is fun and quirky and home to a lot of artists and alternatively thinking people. The farmers market is a grand place to go and feel out the vibe and we can tell you where to view the little blue penguins free of charge. Oh so cute! We are passionate about growing and processing our own food, we love bugs and bees and all our animals and our wonderful community. Soil health and biodiversity are key players for us. We love hearing new ideas and sharing our successes...and failures :) We are a NZ/German family of five (kids aged 10, 13 and 14) who love to travel and love meeting travellers from all over the world. We used to live on a sailing boat when the kids were smaller and sailed to many tropical islands, exploring reefs, tribal life and off grid living. Now we have swapped that life for one on the land, aiming to...

I have a property on the edge of Havelock North in Hawkes Bay.I need help in the gardens and around the property..Helpers have their own very comfortable and self contained accommodation .They are welcome to use the swimming pool and tennis court. The work is varied and not too strenuous. In the past some of my helpers have done their chores while also working in paid employment and I am flexible to manage these situations. My helpers all seem to love the food we eat- I’m a hunter gatherer and we eat lots of food like fish and home grown vegetables.. Couples are welcome. The property is within walking distance of the Havelock North village. Bikes are available for use. Havelock North is a vibrant town in one of New Zealand’s most attractive and liveable provinces. Now that spring has arrived there is a lot to do around my property..My helpers only need to help me for 4 hours a day- in return you’ll get free lodgings in a comfortable room with an en suite , great food and plenty of tim...

There are bus routes to the city at the end of the street (#1, #32, #29), and on-street parking. We look forward to hearing from you.

Food ...

This homestay is best suited for a single female only and is available from 30 August 2026. We are a South African family of four, with two girls in primary school, looking for a female helper. We can offer you homestay accommodation for a few hours of help/work per day. We are an easy-going family and would love to have a fun-easy-going person join our household. Both of us are working full time and would need some help with our children before and after school as well as help with some chores in and around the house. Our children are literate in both English and Afrikaans, and our family would love to offer you a taste of our hospitable South African culture!

We are a cultural and arts community that is working towards being self-sustained. The community is situated in the mountains of Monchique, Portugal surrounded by nature. Our community provides an alternative way of living with permaculture gardens, farm animals, sustainability projects, and arts and cultural workshops. It is a great place to come to meet other like-minded people if you are passionate about sustainability and alternative living. We hold community meetings throughout the week alongside activities and workshops, such as quiz nights, dance nights and yoga classes. If you have something you are passionate about and want to share with others, we would love for you to run a workshop. One of the best things here is the variety of tasks you can do as a volunteer, which gives you the opportunity to learn new skills and discover what you enjoy doing most. We have a combination of short-term and long-term volunteers and on average we have between 10 to 20 volunteers and resident...
