This is a unique opportunity to live in a museum! I am the curator and caretaker of an historic homestead built between 1862-1880, located within extensive gardens. Part of the house now functions as a museum. The property is in a rural setting at Greenough - just off the Brand Hwy- 19 kms south of Geraldton and 400km north of Perth. This place can seem isolated if you do not have a car. However, I do have a bicycle available, and I take helpers into Geraldton at Least once a week, and to community events, as well as showing you local attractions. I have planted fruit trees and established an organic vegetable garden. Helpers must like animals as I have guinea pigs and 2 dogs. The property is close to isolated stretches of beach, bushland and other tourist attractions. Work includes gardening, cooking, cleaning, art projects, translating, helping keep the museum open, minor property maintenance, etc. Only have accommodation for one person at a time and prefer non-smoking helpers...

French Chateau under renovation in quiet rural location, close to local village. We are looking for help with building renovation work, decoration and services in the main building, landscaping of the gardens and woodland maintenance. The top floor of the chateau is finished and accommodation is in your own room on the top floor of the building (see photos for a picture of one of the helper rooms), which has 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a kitchen and a cinema all finished and fully furnished. The ground and first floors are both partially completed. The ground floor kitchen, utility room, billiards and dining room have been completed. Full board included, mainly eating outside in the summer when weather permits. Helpers, family and friends all eat together. Since there may be a number of family, friends and helpers at the house at any one time, unfortunately we are not able to accommodate vegans or people with special dietary requirements or food allergies There is plenty to do...

Looking for a lovely volunteer to join us and our animals. AVAILABILITY FROM the middle of May. Please contact us if you are interested in helping look after our wonderful animals. Experience with horses is useful but not necessary as long as you are happy to care for them. You will live as part of the family - during your stay, our home will be your home. We are a married couple living on a property with our DOGS, HORSES and some elderly but treasured chickens. Depending on the time of year, we also run a small scale rescue and rehabilitation centre for hedgehogs. There are stunning views looking out over a Devon Wildlife Nature Reserve and beautiful countryside. We live in a very attractive rural area of Devon on the outskirts of a beautiful old village called DOLTON (please look on "Google Earth") about a 45 minute drive from Dartmoor National Park. The village has a very friendly and active community, a church, 2 excellent traditional pubs, a post office and a small shop AND ex...

This is an exciting opportunity to have an experience that will stay with you throughout your life. Our Foundation aims at helping rural children receive a qualitative outstanding education. We have a volunteer teaching program to assist rural teachers and children get exposure to foreign languages and cultures. Because English is the second language in Thai schools, we concentrate on improving the English language skills of both rural teachers and children. At present, we aim to help 4 public elementary schools (grades 1 - 6) close to Chiang Mai. We are currently taking applications for volunteers who would available to start sometime between mid-May and the end of June and commit to at least 8 weeks . We are looking for volunteers to teach English only. Couples are welcome as well. NOTE: We do not charge volunteers any fees for staying with us. The generous gift of your time and dedication is all the donation we will ask of you. We provide the volunteers lodging and meals in ...

Hello, I Luvertin or family of Mombracco e’ a farm born in 2016 from zero, we renovated an old building and built the first stable for our goats with our own hands, with sacrifice and dedication we have recovered abandoned land and we are still doing it. Over the years we have participated in development projects and have built a new stable and a new wooden building, we have built the dairy to produce cheese. We are now producing and selling our products. We'd love to find some of the people who can help us on our journey. We need to start over with a family garden, raising chickens for self-consumption. We need to expand spaces for the family that has grown up and for guests. Claudio is’ really skilled new manual labor and can't wait to pair him with a handsome man to teach him and build something beautiful! Our e’ family of Claudio and Jessica with 6 children aged 14, 12, 10, 8, 5 and 0! We live in a fabulous area of the COTTIAN Alps! Monviso in the Po Valley, on the Mombracco....

We are a Portuguese couple with experience on permaculture and self-sufficient-living that in 2015 got 15ha of abundant land in a beautiful valley and an amazing community at the highest mountains inside the biggest natural park of our country. Rita is a health-food enthusiast and loves to work with different kinds of art-craft. She likes to explore Medicinal plants, Food preservation and fermentation, Hygiene products and teaching Forest School. Walking in the nature, singing with friends and doing yoga are some of the other things she enjoys. Gonçalo is a nature lover with a passion for Permaculture and Natural Farming. Studied Organic Agronomy and has been practicing it since 2008, with the help of volunteers, interns and apprentices. He enjoys sharing and to make music with friends. My friend bought this beautiful old farm in Bjarnarfjordur witch is in the west fjords of Iceland And the westfjords were selected as top destination in the world by Lonely Planet for 2022 No one has lived there for the last 20 years so there’s plenty of things to do Mainly it’s taking care of the eiderducks (put up flags and scarecrows to keep the artic fox and seagulls away from the area) The eider nests on small islands close to the farm so we will need to take a boat or a kayak and row to the islands After the nesting season we pick up the down that they left in the nest And another thing is feeding the rainbow trout that we will be farming in tanks on land Also we have to paint and fix the old house We have our own geothermal hole that produces lots of hot water Even though it’s seems remote it’s only 35km to the next town Hòlmavík where there’s a supermarket, bank and basically everything you need From June to October we are doing whale watching trips from Hólmavík and mo...

A small farm (5 hectares, half of which is forest) in a quiet green valley, 1 hour walk from the village. The railway station (7 km) is Fabro-Ficulle, halfway between Rome and Florence. (of course we' ll come fetch you at your train arrival!) Here live funny dogs (4 adults), all of them often in the house, and two cats too. Downstairs my Ceramic Studio, sometimes in need of some "housework". The things we need help with are ( according to the season) mow the lawn, pruning, collecting and chopping firewood ...but mainly rebuilding some order here and there, harvesting olives in late October, clearing, cleaning, painting, repairing, reinventing spaces and so on. In summer I am also engaged with the Thermal Park "Bagno del diavolo", it is a magic wonder place, and might need help with the pool to clean and other things . We cook creative healthy meals, mainly without animal products. Usually - as a guest- you have a self contained room (photo), but when it is engaged you' ll...

Hi, welcome to NZ, and hopefully to Kōpuaranga, Masterton! We are located just a 1.5 hour drive north of Wellington off State Highway 2. Masterton is central to a lot of walks, mountains rivers and coastline and some beach/ surf communities too. We also have a beach house that we sometimes do work on as well. Our home is a kilometre from any other house, so a rural experience, views and usually a great night sky are guaranteed - yet still only a ten minute drive to our service town of Masterton which has rail links to Wellington. An easy pick up or drop off if you do not have your own vehicle. We have a river boundary with trout and eels, and it is great for a speedy dip on the hot days before the nature gets too curious! We have now been on this property a year and so much has been achieved with HelpX travel friends, but we are only half way through... Outside we are building pens, raising chickens and sheep, adding some more raised beds and laying out a productive garden with s...

We are Ines and Stefan Grillmair living with our Kids Heidi (8), Nino (6) and Robin (4) at a small farm in Bachmanning, Upper Austrian countryside. We moved in this 400-year-old house in 2023, after a year of maintaining the main building. At the moment we have 5 sheep mowing the steep land in the back yard. We look forward doing some gardening and pasture work in 2025. For that reason, we definitely look for handy helpers that are used to work with tools and own hands. We stick to helpx recommended 4 hours of help per day, and appreciate self-responsible management on this. We are self-employed, our daily job is all about coffee. We are Barista, run shops in the City of Wels and Salzburg and work most days at home. We know HelpX from our Work&Travel experience in New Zealand, a decade ago. We enjoy being a Host now. Our House is located in the so called “Voralpenregion” which means, that it`s close to the Alps, especially Salzkammergut. By car or train you reach Gmunden (40 min)...

Hi everyone! We have a beautiful property a short walk/drive away from a gorgeous New Zealand beach. We live 45 minutes from Hamilton and 20-25 minutes from Raglan. Our area is very remote - we have some neighbours but there are no shops here or public transport, just farmland. So if you enjoy being away from cities and people then this is the place for you! Our property suits people who enjoy the outdoors and surfing, hiking, walking, animals, solitude. There is a beautiful mountain right by our house for hiking, great surfing and fishing in the area, and Raglan (a little over 20 minutes away) which is a vibrant and energetic little beach town with world famous surf. This exchange is for accommodation only. We have a cabin with a big bed and beautiful views of the farmland and mountain and sea. There is a kitchenette for you to keep and cook your own food. The bathroom is about 20 metres away from the cabin and it is a composting toilet with shower that does the job but is gravity-f...

“Teach children in rural Thailand • Live in a Thai village • Authentic cultural exchange.” Since 2013, our small family-run project Volunt2Thai has welcomed more than 700 volunteers from around the world. Together, they have supported over 4,000 less privileged children in rural North-East Thailand. Each semester, around **650 children** from **12 schools in 12 villages** take part in our programs. Life here is deeply rooted in nature and authentic village life — surrounded by rice fields, small farms, fish ponds, and peaceful countryside, far away from cities and tourism. At the heart of our project is the **V2T Campus**, a unique space for learning, cultural exchange, and community support. Set within a traditional Thai farm environment, the campus offers volunteers a peaceful and inspiring place to live and grow. It includes comfortable bungalows, a family room with veranda upstairs, seminar corners, a modern communal outdoor kitchen, a food forest with herb garden, a gym, sports ...

We are a semi-retired couple who love gardening, cooking, journaling, dancing and sightseeing. Our mud brick house is comfortable and usually cool in summer. You will have your own cosy room. We have fans for cooling and open fireplace for heating if required. The property has a boundary with the State Forest. It is very green all around. We have many native wildlife visit us such as wallabies, wombats, Kookaburras, and a resident Koala. We are off the grid and generate our own electricity and source our water from the creek that is fed by a small waterfall (La La Falls). Conserving energy is a common practice here and it would be wonderful to share sustainable ideas. It's a 20 min walk to the local shops. . We hope to share our rich culturally diverse lifestyle and show you our beautiful valley and quirky valley attractions. We are hoping for a helper who is willing to help with garden tidy-up (lawns, weeds and pruning), house projects and cleaning. If you know how to use too...

I am an ecologist, surfer and mum, who is passionate about restoring our sand dune ecosystems. I am owner operator of a sand dune restoration company. We grow and plant sand dune plants, restoring this threatened environment and essential buffer between the land and the sea. We live a healthy lifestyle by the ocean in the small coastal village of Ngunguru on the Tutukaka Coast located 30 km from Whangarei City. Spring May 16, 2026 - openings for the month of MAY :) Wow, exploring right outside our backdoor along side the Campbell River on Vancouver Island, is a beautiful place to experience Vancouver Island`s great outdoors this SPRING with all the wild life right in our back yard :) Although we live on a one acre town lot, our back yard is situated on a cliff over looking an accessible beautiful heritage river, with a nature park setting of ferns, Douglas fir, maple and alder trees. You can often see deer, raccoons, bears and the silver backs of salmon and Steelhead fish jumping in the ebb and flow of the river’s pools. We have trail access to the river below, where you can enjoy listening to the sing song of many birds, tubing down the river/swimming in the heat of the summer, and trying your hand at casting for Steelhead fish. As well, our neighborhood is the access point to many scenic nature hiking, walking and biking trails. The ocean photo was taken a couple of miles from my home and...

Hello, my name is Florent, I'm 45 years old, I was a chef for about twenty years, and since 2017 I've been a spirulina producer. Spirulina is a microalga that's very rich in nutrients. It's a very environmentally friendly crop, requiring little energy and no pesticides. Spirulina needs sun and warmth to grow. The harvest season in our region runs from April to October, and it's during this period that I'm interested in hosting someone (I don't need two people at the same time, one is enough). I already have people helping me until the end of july, so I'm looking for someone from this period. Since 2017, I worked with a partner who left for other ventures at the beginning of this year, and I now work alone. We've already had several interns on our farm. I need someone to help me out on the farm with various tasks, as we do everything ourselves: harvesting the spirulina, cleaning, labeling, packaging, general maintenance and odd jobs, communication, deliveries, farm tours, online or...

Hi! I'm Tonje and I moved to my farm in 2020. And there's always a lot to do here. This small farm is in a very small town, by the fjord in Hardanger. Its a good place for hiking and culture. The area is quiet and scenic. The closest cities are Odda and Bergen. The bosses of the house are 4 dogs and 3 cats. Right now I don't have any farm animals of my own. But the neighbor's sheep live here too. I would have been very grateful for various help on my small farm. The work can be very varied. But I need help with maintenance of the outdoor area, wood working, chopping firewood and snow shoveling. I also have an airbnb, so cleaning, organize and tidying jobs are also tasks that I may need help with. Help are appreciated a lot. For your help, I can offer beautiful scenery, food and a private bedroom.

Tena koe, nau mai, haramai ki Tokomaru Bay, a small, predominately Maori seaside community on the East Coast. We live on a four acre lifestyle block in the peaceful Kaiawha Valley about a two minute drive from the village and the beach. There is a 4 Square Supermarket, a cafe and a tavern in the village. Most of the work we require is gardening, landscaping, milking cow, feeding animals, preserving food, servicing our Bed and Breakfast (List 1 Historic Places building) firewood, weed eating, mowing and general maintenance. Jan is a teacher and does some casual relieving and Bill works from home developing Te Reo Maori learning resources for our local tribe and teaches Te Reo Maori one day a week. Sorry folks, but we are now fully booked until the beginning of September 2026. There may be a cancellation, but these are very rare, but if you are in the area, reach out, we love to chat :) As well as the normal homesteading tasks, if you want to learn about wine making, bee keeping, self defense, jewellery making, or help Tony with his self defense book and video courses, we could be a great match. Have a think, take a look at our reviews and if you are interested, drop us a line, *** Our beautiful countryside homestead (only 5 acres so not really a farm) is in the mountainous hills above the historic castle town of Caccamo, Sicily. It is surrounded scraggy mountains and long valley walks. It is perfect for hiking or just relaxing in the sun with a good book. Within easy traveling distance for those interested in exploring this culturally rich island, is the seaside town of Cefalù or even the main capital city of Palermo, both are easily accessible by bus and train from the lo...

Unfortunately in 2017 a massive fire went over this beautiful valley but our yurts didnt burn and all the animals survived, in the same year we were blessed with our first home-birth daughter Dana....

We grow lot of fruits, vegetables and herbs, all of which we try to eat every day. We also have chickens and ducks which we keep for eggs and sometimes meat. In the middle of our beautiful garden, and separate to the main house is a Holiday Cabin, with sleeping space for up to 3 people and its own toilet and shower. This will be your own private living space while staying with us. About Us I’m Marijn and I am an artist (writing and painting), chef and bartender and work different hours each week, but am home often to work around the house. My partner works full time for UPS and is away from home from 5am-7pm therefore access to the main house is only until 8:30pm so he can get a good sleep. We are a gay couple, open minded, and non-religious. We have 2 dogs and 3 cats which are very friendly and love to...

Looking for a helping hand for a few days, help needed around our gardens and house/sheds etc. Our tropical property is located about 2 hours south of Cairns, 45 mins south of Innisfail and we can collect you from the bus in Wongaling if you do not have your own vehicle. My hubby and I are looking for someone, male or female, who enjoys the tropical outdoor life helping with work around the house and in the gardens. We would prefer someone who could stay for a minimum of 4/5 days. Around 4 to 5 hours work per day, mostly mornings from around 8am, in exchange for evening meals and accommodation. The village is a 15 min walk from here. Lots to do from here!!!great walking tracks, spot a cassowary possibly with his chick. It is an amazing beach, overlooking the Coral Sea. Our local IGA is in the next town and it would be no problem to take you shopping with us...come along for the drive. Your accommodation is separate to our house. The Tutukaka Coast is well known for its pristine beaches, surfing, diving at the Poor Knights, fishing, walking and enjoying the beautiful coastline. Own transport preferred but happy to pick up from the bus or airport in Whangarei and bring out to the coast if travelling without. I am looking for strong, fit, and reliable helpers to join a nursery and beach planting team for 4 weeks, from Wednesday 24 June to Wednesday 22 July 2026. This is physical outdoor work. You must be comfortable working outside in all weather conditions, enjoy practical work, work well in a team, ...

We have a room with a queen bed in a sleep out, with helpers own separate lounge/kitchenette. Access to washing machine. The bathroom is inside the main house located a few metres away. Both of us are involved in our community, at the marae and other activities. We think 'whanau' s...
