We are on an 70 acre farm in North Pope County, Illinois and are virtually surrounded by the Shawnee National Forest. Having been on this farm for 13 years, we are still developing infrastructure and are continuing to plant in the orchard and various berries as well as establishing and expanding garden and crop areas. We are a GMO, herbicide and pesticide free farm in all of our outdoor areas. As we are far away from "modern agricultural" property, we feel that we should have no problems with cross pollination of our crops with GMO's or damage/exposure from/to ag chemicals. We are a Portuguese couple with experience on permaculture and self-sufficient-living that in 2015 got 15ha of abundant land in a beautiful valley and an amazing community at the highest mountains inside the biggest natural park of our country. Rita is a health-food enthusiast and loves to work with different kinds of art-craft. She likes to explore Medicinal plants, Food preservation and fermentation, Hygiene products and teaching Forest School. Walking in the nature, singing with friends and doing yoga are some of the other things she enjoys. Gonçalo is a nature lover with a passion for Permaculture and Natural Farming. Studied Organic Agronomy and has been practicing it since 2008, with the help of volunteers, interns and apprentices. He enjoys sharing and to make music with friends. I live in an old farm and farmhouse in Normandy. I have converted a cottage into a holiday cottage with 4 bedrooms (all en suite) and one barn into another. I also had a Yurt (now gone but the pictures are still there !!) and a campsite. With the guest-accommodation, farm and further buildings to be converted, I could always do with an extra pair of hands. Hello, We’re a small family business from Germany, growing organic olives in the south of Greece. Right now, we’re a young team of four and are looking for 2–4 helpers to join us during the harvest season, from the end of October till around the 20th of November. You’re also welcome to come for just 1 or 2 weeks, as it fits with you. We are in the small Greek Village of Methoni, Messinia. Our days in harvest season start with pre-harvest preparations, such as cutting watersprouts and checking all tools. Once the harvest begins (probably around the first week of November), we prune the trees, lay down nets, take down the olives with sticks that have rotating little fingers, collect and sort the olives from the nets, and in the evening bring the harvest to the olive factory. The actual harvest usually takes about 6 days in total. It’s quite some work, but you can decide how you’d like to participate. Some people prefer field work, while others enjoy cooking for the team.
