I live with my adult son in a rural area 20 minutes from the Wellington CBD. I have other family members living nearby. A daughter, son in law and two teenage grand-daughters. They live on a lifestyle property and my property is a large section backing onto native bush, in a rural setting. We are used to hosting people because I used to have Japanese students billeted with me a few years ago. There is no bus service where we are but about 8 minutes over the hill is a large suburban area called Karori which does have a bus service and shops, a library, public swimming pool and other amenities. I would be prepared to drop a guest over the hill to the bus if they didn't have their own transport.
