This is a permaculture and forest garden heaven which breaths possibilities for hosting people for long-term and hosting groups for short-term events (on-site 12 people and together with renting nearby camp sites up to 55 people). Currently the house is nearly ready to become bed and breakfast, so expect a decent room for yourself (with 3 empty beds) and a shower that feels as if you get a blanket around you from your parents. The shed is in a bad condition and we need immediate help with that. The garden is in a bad shape (with about 100 trees and shrubs planted already though) but the priority is not there now. I live between a yacht on Sydney Harbour and a house in a tall eucalyptus forest on the mid north coast of NSW, and need some assistance in working on the house and on another yacht.  I'm a carpenter who worked with National Parks and Wildlife for 25 years before retiring, and live with a small dog Billy. We usually start cleaning the field in September, we have to get rid of all stingy plants and twigs on the ground in order to put the nets later on without any damage. We are planning to start collecting the olives by middle of October, depending on the weather conditions, and continue in several turns till November. Once the harvest season is over, we have to cut the branches and put the smaller ones into the woodchipper, spread organic fertiliser, and repair some terraces. Hola todas! My place is an old grain mill with half a hectare of land. I live here for more than 17 years and hosted many volunteers. Work is mostly in the garden. Weeding, digging, planting, watering, harvesting and off course eating. There is a big cat family living on the land. Help in the kitchen is welcome. Special dietary requirements must be met by the helpers. In the area there are many activities possible. More yoga teachers than there are yoga students. Projects, apart from daily animal feeding and caring, are of all shapes and sizes : field work, building renovations, decking, sewing horserugs, making paths, etc. - help for a few days or weeks welcome, improve your English, practice photography, enjoy the beach, sailing and other sports in St Andrews. Lots of easy tidying, painting, sewing, repairing and gardening jobs as well as building repairs to do some of which require a team effort to achieve. We are a family of four - Todd, Kate, Wimitja (20) and Kinyin (17). We are in the Adelaide Hills but only 20-25 minutes from the city center. Non smokers only. It's a happy spot here! It is such an amazing time of year here in (nearly) Spring - it is all going on in the garden and in the bush! The hills are very beautiful. We are close to the city and a bus route but in the hills with koalas and kangaroos around... We have many projects on the go like woven fences from grape vines, drainage, pruning, path making, planting natives, building wicking beds, spring planting, mulching, bush regen, painting and more. We have built a mountain house (underground) on our property in the hills in Valencia. We have an organic orchard and garden, and lots of olive trees. Our gardening philosophy is based on permaculture principles and we aim to regenerate as much land as possible with native forest. We do not live on the property full time but every weekend, from friday to Monday morning plus holidays we stay on the property. we need helpers who are interested in gardening and landscaping and we have built guest quarters. At present we are organising a workshop to build a rocket stove. We would be thrilled to host anyone who has experience using or building rocket stoves and wood heaters. Accommodation is in the guest quarters. We have lovely views and lots of water. We have a composting toilet and showering facilities. Im trying to realize my dream, devoted to permaculture and natural architecture on the 25 decare land we purchased in 2021, where there are pine forests and natural water resources, and where natural life is happily alive. My biggest dream is for my daughter and other children to grow up together in a healthy soil, poison-free tables, on a farm full of happy animals, in a community where our friends and guests contribute. We continue to take slow but beautiful steps on the path we set out with this dream, with the efforts of our friends and volunteers who contribute to us. If you arrive early enough at my kitchen window or even up on the jungle hill behind the cottage, you can see the sea and watch the sunrise. A 10 minute stroll down Eden Street gets you either to the CBD or to the shoreline.
