Hi, I'm Andrew, thanks for looking at our profile, We are a family of 3 living in the suburbs of Newcastle about 15 mins drive from the beach. I have 2 kids at home(15yo & 17yo), enjoy cafes and going to the beach and playing in the pool. (The photos are some of our local beaches). We also like cycling and playing games, chilling out and chatting with friends. We attend a local church each week and our two kids attend the local school which is just up the road. I spend lots of my time fixing (renovating) houses and love to have people to work with. Help at work Generally we ask you to help out in the renovations about 21 hours per week each (normally 3 x 7.5 hour days - we tend to stop for half hour to have lunch in the middle but could also be spread over more days with less hours), fixing the place up and then spend the other time at your leisure. Ideally we are looking for helpers who have been involved in building or renovating (or are keen to learn) but we also are looking fo...

We are near the Shoalwater Marine Park and Penguin Island 40mins from Perth city centre. Very close to public transport, cafes and library. Ideal for beach walking, diving, swimming, cycling, fishing, sailing and windsurfing (beach is 60 metres away). Accommodation would take form of a fully insulated cute tiny garden room with access to cooking area and bathroom. It is small so please See photos. On week days we are usually working it Perth so we cant provide meals, but a well-stocked supermarket is 200 metres away. Right now we need help building a studio. If you know how to handle tools it would be useful! Similarly any experience with elec or plumbing might assist. We average two or three hours a day from Monday to Friday and can negotiate best time to do that, for example maybe it’s more convenient to do two longer days during the week. We (Riley, Serene and Bood) enjoy living in harmony with nature and each other. This is a beautiful property high in the hills above Cairns, that borders World Heritage rain forest wilderness on three sides, and enjoys breathtaking views over the Atherton Tableland. There are permanent creeks, waterfalls, rock pools (for swimming) and a very pleasant climate, without the high humidity that the coast can experience (in summer). Abundant wildlife including tree kangaroos, possums, platypus and hundreds of bird species. We enjoy hiking and exploring North Queensland. The property practices holistic management, organics and permaculture principles. Work is mostly gardening and household duties. Most happy to utilise your unique skills and gifts, where possible. We like to take turns cooking meals, encourage food literacy (from garden to plate), and greater awareness of self-sufficiency. Accommodation for up to two helpers in our circular stone and timber home. Guests should be open...

I am a writer that lives on a small 40acre (16 hectares) bush block near Cranbrook by myself with my old cat, two roosters and several hens I would be happy to have people assist with my property and in return I could provide basic food/accommodation which right now is having your own little hut complete with electricity and fridge and your own bbq. My house is a small stone cottage on the banks of the Gordon River on the Albany Highway. There is a beautiful solitude about the place and plenty of opportunity to bush walk and enjoy the cool clime especially with all the many beautiful and even rare wildflowers that grow on the property. Ideal for someone wanting to spend a bit of time off-grid Nearby are the wonderful Stirling Ranges and the Porongorups--both significant Aboriginal sites as well as Bluff Knoll aka Bulah Meyal (many eyes) not only the tallest point in WA and well worth the 4 hour walk to the top but also a very important Aboriginal site. All these places I am happy to dr...

We are located within walking distance of Fremantle centre near markets, grocery stores and public transport (bus at front door!) as well as a local coffee strip. It's a fully self-contained cottage with kitchen and bathroom. The helping exchange arrangement would be helping with repairs, landscaping and painting etc. It is on Wray Avenue, if you want to check location. It would be useful if you have had some experience with painting and renovation. We also have a beach house south of Fremantle and you could have an opportunity to visit this also. 2 hours a day would be fine and although food is not provided shopping is handy. We are able to assist with finding budget accommodation and sometimes we have access to seasonal work opportunities in county WA. Cheers

I currently need one person to join my team for the winter months. On my five-acre lifestyle block, I have a small collection of animals, including: sheep, pigs, deer, llama, alpaca, collie dogs and a few birds (80+ animals, depending on time of year, and babies!). I also have six unusual rental units (yurt, tipi, train carriage, colonial wagon, house truck, cute farmers cottage), and take guests on off-site Llama Trekking tours. You will spend about 25% of your time with the animals and guests; 25% housekeeping; 50% on projects, gardening and maintenance work. - the actual ratios vary depending on the time of year, number of staff, weather, and rental bookings! Animal care = feeding, mucking out cages and paddocks, basic health work eg: grooming, nail clipping. Project & maintenance work = random jobs around the farm, eg: General DIY, fence mending, tree/grass/hedge cutting, painting, weeding and working the veggie plot, group cooking, cleaning, etc. I occasionally have jobs requirin...

Kia Ora and hi Help-x helpers, We're Chris and Meri. We live on a little farm with some beautiful rural views, native birds & bush and a beautiful little stream that runs through the property where we're gradually restoring the natural environment protecting native habitat, birds and animals. We're interested in wildlife, in all of nature generally, particularly keen on Australasian birds (Australian, NZ and South Pacific Islands) and we're involved from time to time with bird conservation and ornithological projects. We run a little flock of South Suffolk Sheep, we have free Range Brown Shaver Chickens, some Khaki Campbell Ducks (perfect eggs for baking!), a pair of rare Cape Barren Geese, we have a few Bee hives and we also have a little fruit tree Orchard etc. We enjoy cooking and sharing good food (and favourite recipes) with others and your stay wouldn't be complete without experiencing a few of Meri's traditional yummy Indonesian styled dishes. We share making meals together...

One thing I can advise helpers who want to get a placement with any host is to have at least one PICTURE of YOURSELF. Just as you like to "see" who and where you are coming, hosts like to see who they are opening their home to. The weather is warming up now so there is lots to do outside in the yard. I'm not planting a vegetable garden this year so I'd like to clean up the area, fencing, painting etc. Knowledge of Carpentry and Plumbing are always appreciated. Car mechanics are always helpful. I would really appreciate someone who can do handyman jobs and wants to come for a week or two. I sell things online and on eBay and would love someone who is good at writing descriptions in English. I have a large house and property in a diverse area of Staten Island, New York that I`m always working on. I plant a vegetable garden in the spring using the square foot gardening method. A friend and I rebuilt the whole house on the inside including jacking it up and replacing the foundation,...

Free coffee, tea and a simple breakfast (i.e. Cereal, toast) included. Alas we can’t be there to offer other meals during week. On weekends we ...

We are a fit & energetic older couple with the following background: - Rene, 68yo, Swiss origin, Architect / Photographer / Traveller / Retired Resort Owner & Operator / Retired Tour Operator / Retired Restaurateur / Handyman (DIY Building) / Landscaper / Gardener . - Julie, 64yo, Philippine origin, Chef / Traveller / Retired Resort Owner & Operator / Retired Tour Operator / Retired Restaurateur. Our hosting, as well as workflow, is intermediate, as such, we may have breaks in between and preferences & requirements may change. With most of the earlier days' heavy lifting on structural projects done, our current projects are more along fine-tunin...
