Hi beautiful people! I’m Christine, a happy spirited former language and arts teacher working across two continents. Since I retired I work in the natural health field. I live on an urban block called The Roo‘s Pouch, where I maintain a sustainable vegetable garden and created a community of nice people living with me. I live in one of the buildings on this sunny property which runs on rainwater harvesting. We avoid chlorine and contaminates by filtering, harmonizing, and energizing our own water though Ionisation. Water conservation is part of life for me. You can come to Maryborough via plane, bus or train. The Hervey Bay Airport is only 30min from my home. There are meanwhile several bus companies to choose from. If you use the train please book Maryborough town from the drop down menu. The shuttle bus from the train station in Maryborough west (20 min out of town) is free of charge if it is pre-booked. As international travelers you qualify for a concession card on Queensland trai...

Our farm is in the mountains of Lares, a rural region in the center of the Caribbean Island of Puerto Rico. A town well known for the rebellion insurgency called "El Grito de Lares", also well known for the coffee plantations and the culinary festivities. Lares has great rivers, beautiful sceneries and nice climate. In this great countryside we manage an agricultural, educational and community project, Proyecto Agroecológico Campesino/PAC. Our mission has been to produce food in a sustainable way, facilitate a practical learning farm for students and share knowledge with the community. For this we work in the transformation of two acres, in an integral farm where combines crop production, animal husbandry, resource management, restoration of soil and ecosystems, inspired by the agroecological principles. We invite you to join us on our every day activities to build a sustainable farm and to share knowledge and experiences. The accommodation includes a private room with kitchen, bat...

We are currently accepting helpers for 2026. At this time of year we have lots of repair, building, animal husbandry, 'old' school pasture creation, gardening, food production, preservation, and harvesting and other gardening projects on the go. Depending on timing there may be opportunities to participate in animal butchering, sausage making, cheese making and more. (Any job involving animal slaughter is always optional and available only to those who would benefit from the experience.) We expect 25hrs a week and provide all meals and Accommodation in return. Outside of specific farm based events such as sausage making, your schedule is up to you if you are an independent worker. Many Helpers prefer to compress their work week or even change their days-off and we are always open to that conversation. If you are looking to learn about soil science, Permaculture or regenerative agriculture, Marc is an experienced educator and sought-after public speaker who is willing to take ...

Beautiful 56 acre mountainous property, completely off grid with a small hardwood house /cottage that I have built using milled wood from trees on the property , with lovely views everywhere . Also doing a lot work to improve the land and infrastructure. There are over 4 kilometers of walking trails through gorgeous forest, on this completely vegan property, with mountainous views all over ranging from 150 to 230 meters above sea level. The beautiful forest trails have old growth national park like forest at the very top. Lots of wildlife to see , with all kinds of exotic birds , including families of black cockatoo’s which live here in the pine’s, and beautiful little kingfisher birds, yellow robins, willy wagtails and kookaburras to name a few. We have recently found koalas living on the property in the flooded gum trees, with many wallabies and goanna’s are everywhere in summer ! Lots of lovely contemplative spots to relax , . Located 12 minutes the pristine beach’...

** as of 6th July we are looking for a helper to start soon for an approx 2 week stay ** Your time here counts towards the 88 days working visa requirements as we are in a declared natural disaster region. We are a family in rural Australia who have helpers (only 1 helper at any one time) stay with us from time to time. Our experience has been that shorter stays of 2-3 weeks work best for our situation. We live on a beautiful property on the Nymboida River, a 15 minute drive from the town of Dorrigo and 40 minutes drive from Bellingen. We offer a luxurious, self contained cottage which is adjacent to our house but is also privately positioned. We have young children and enjoy meeting new people. We have a great swimming hole on the river (that we share with platypus and other creatures) and there are kayaks to use. Our wood fired sauna is a great way to end the day :) Our property is teeming with wildlife and 7 riverside hectares are set aside as a conservation area in conjunctio...

Hi. We are a fun, friendly household in the sunny Bay of Plenty! I'm a Drama & English teacher and Blair is an electrician. My husband and I have 2 fun, adventurous girls, we also have a dog and cat. We enjoy biking, baking, board games and picnics at the beach, amongst other things. We would love to host people who are honest, friendly, independent, hard-workers and are interested in meeting new people and enjoying what Tauranga has to offer. In exchange for 4 hours work per day, you will receive free accommodation, meals (please provide your own snacks) and wifi. Work includes domestic-type chores; mainly cleaning, cooking and possibly baby-sitting - helps if you like children and animals. We have a cat and golden retriever. It is definitely easier if you have a car, although buses are available from here. We had a homestay from China for a year who found their way round on the buses fine but it does take a while. Happy for any amount of time e.g. 1 or 2 weeks or months stay but ...

In return for 4 hours help a day I offer you accommodation and all meals in a sunny, warm home where you will have your own bedroom (queen size bed) and own bathroom with the added privacy of being in a separate wing of my house. My sunny home sits atop a hill from which you will have a magnificent view of the township of Blenheim to Cook Strait and the hills of the North Island beyond. Of course if you would prefer to work a full day in order to have a day off in which you could explore the nearby Marlborough Sounds, cycle the wine trails, or walk or climb on any of the formed tracks in this area, that would be just fine. My 40 ha property is a sheep/beef farm most of which is leased. I tend a large garden and care for the drive and tracks, drainage and irrigation and deal with fallen trees. It is help with this work I require.. Therefore most of the work is outdoor, constantly varied, not difficult, with some indoors work on occasions. The farm is situated in the midst of vin...

This is ideal for people who would enjoy the social and cultural buzz of the city within easy walking distance, while also being close to two charming harbour beaches and some great walks. It’s a good arrangement if you value your own private space whenever you want it, but also enjoy a stimulating environment. Our comfortable inner city 117year old Victorian villa is a two minute walk to Ponsonby Road. Accommodation is self-contained, and our HelpXers have invariably found it to be an ideal set-up (see guest room photos). You have your own separate entrance, private garden balcony, one bed ( a generous double) , kitchenette with microwave, hot plate, toaster and small fridge, dining table/desk, laundry machine and spacious en suite bathroom/toilet. Free wi-fi (within reason!) Because we’re on an unusually wide section for a city house, we've developed the outdoor space into various "rooms", including an organic vege/herb garden and a viewing platform in one of our higher trees ...

Hi, my name is Mary. I live on the border of NSW and Victoria, a town called Albury. There is a train service to Albury from Sydney about 9 hours and Melbourne about 5 hours train trip. I am happy to pick someone from the Albury railway station. Albury is a pretty town on the Hume Highway. It is inland on the Murray River and there are a lot of local attractions, vineyards, historical small towns, snow fields and many more, only a few hours drive. I am located in town, with the railway station and the airport not too far, about 15minutes drive. I am fully vaccinated and require the same of a helper. I only take Non-smokers (meaning you do not smoke at all, outside as well). Currently I am asking for 2.5hrs a day for board only. You can cook for yourselves, buy supplies locally and after cooking clean your area. I would like help with the garden and other general duties around the house, such as cleaning. If you are travelling this way, either going to Melbourne or locally and can hel...

We are looking for helpers from right now and have space for one or two people. We have three small cabins, two with double beds and one with a single bed so room for up to five helpers normally but only room for two at the moment as we have another couple staying. All the helpers share a kitchen and bathroom. From now end of June we need help with some building work so preference will be given to people who already have some skills with tools.. We are a great place to start or end your time in New Zealand as we are only 45 minutes drive from Auckland airport. The work will be varied and interesting but usually building and garden based. It could include finishing off an underground earth bag hobbit hole. We have a passion for earth building and organic gardening. Its good if you are over the age of 20, are self motivated and can work unsupervised. We are located on Auckland's beautiful West Coast only 40mins drive from Auckland central city. We operate Muriwai surf school and ad...

We - myself and student son - live in a terrace house next to the main park in Sydney, Australia. It is a two story house and I occupy the upstairs. The room that is available is on the ground floor with your own bathroom and access to the kitchen and garden (see photos). The house is very clean and your room is private with a double bed and some storage. I have a small dog who is quiet and wont bother you. We prefer you do not cook or consume animals in the house but can use the BBQ outside if you prefer. The house is one block from buses to the city (20 minutes), the beach (10 minutes) and a major shopping mall (Bondi) within walking distance. You can catch one bus to Central Railway and from there go to all areas of the city and the Blue Mountains. I work full-time - but mostly from home and happy to suggest paces to see and learn about Sydney and the surrounding mountains. You are welcome to eat with us in the evenings, and share food and cooking if suits you. There are some g...

If you would like a homely, wondrous Blue Mountains experience, nestled in nature, without being surrounded by tourists, you’re welcome to stay with us. You will relax and unwind here, sit in front of the fire in the evenings, drink tea, go on bushwalks, watch the alpacas, and share stories. Then wake to amazing sunrises! Especially quiet for those that have just come from a Vipassana meditation retreat. If you're a rock climber, you can walk to crags at Shipley and Centennial Glen. We have two alpacas, some chickens, and two indoor cats. We live in a new house on a two acres, next to the Blue Mountains National Park. Amazing bushwalks begin at our home. Walk to Govetts Leap waterfall, Evans Lookout, the Grand Canyon, and Blue Gum Forest. We need ENERGETIC help in the yard, mainly splitting firewood. There are lots of small jobs, all requiring good strong MUSCLES. We also need help with BUSH REGENERATION because there are weeds that have invaded the rare and endangered hanging s...

Would you like to come and help us out? We now have a team for the summer. We may welcome helpers in the fall. We are a cozy and comfortable oceanfront Guest House, with 5 guest bedrooms, overlooking a scenic bay in our tiny community (300 residents) called Sandspit, or K'il Kun, on Haida Gwaii, a remote archipelago on the northern coast of BC. Helpers have a private room, meals catered for, and communal dinners. Bikes are available for exploration of the surroundings, and I will usually take helpers out on local adventures (boating, fishing, camping, hiking, etc.) Work is usually general help for day to day operation of the Guesthouse during the summer Season, May to September (housekeeping, gardening, etc.), and general maintenance, gardening, construction etc. during the shoulder and off-season. In the summer some tasks can be somewhat scheduled (cleaning on busy days) but otherwise, helpers are in charge of their own schedule. It is possible and encouraged to be creative in the...

We live in the inner west suburb of Petersham in Sydney, close to public transport. We enjoy meeting travellers from around the world and also enjoy the help with cleaning, dog walking, sorting, painting & gardening. We offer a bedroom with queen bed and good food for 20 hours work a week, which can be done flexibly. And it’s fine if you want to work less hours & organise your own food. If you’re heading north, we have a place 20 minutes north-west of Taree where we’d like help with cleaning, painting, gardening etc but you’d need a car to get there. We are a retired couple plus Alfie the labradoodle and have hosted many HelpXers over the years.

We are a nonprofit horse rehabilitation center that offers education on equine care. We need hands on to help with projects we are working on to complete as well as facility maintenance. Would love to have some energetic people that want to make a difference in horses lives here. It’s about helping these animals go from neglect to finding a forever home or live their lives in Sanctuary. You don't have to have experience we can teach you. If working hands on with horses is not your thing and you admire them there's lots of things you can still do to help them prepare for homes or help at the facility. What we are not: We are not a riding stables. We give lessons when able after all chores completed and trainer is here on certain days and during certain times of the year. So if your intention is to spend lots of time "in the saddle" we don't do that here. We aren't a "working ranch" for people to ride horses all day and move cattle, ride trails, etc. We are not a fancy stables ie: ...

We were gifted four hens and a rooster in 2006. Also the year we got three rescue llamas. Since then, our family eats eggs collected just 30 feet from our home. Since our first milk goat arrived in 2008, our family drinks milk that I harvest every morning. We have grown to feed our community with meat that we raise and butcher ourselves, including chickens, goats, turkeys, pigs, lambs. Since our first small flock, we have grown to 40 laying hens and 2 mannered rooster, 3 milk goats, 7 llamas and two barnyard bunnys. My husband and I have farmed on 10 acres near Cerrillos for 20 years while raising a family and having off-farm jobs. We currently have 3 milk goats, 7 llamas, 40 chickens, 2 bunnys, 1 dog, 2 killer cats, 2 humans.(www.vegetarianbutcher.org) We just purchased our neighbor's 10 acres (see birdseye view of land in photos). We are dreaming to expand our eggs, milk and meat production while churning out healthy soil and lush conditions. We love to teach our trade and would ...

We are available to host again. It is a busy time of the year here on our cattle station. Veggies are being planted, citrus fruits to pick. Pruning, feeding and mulching. Dogs need to played with and perfect weather for an evening around the fire pit. We are a working cattle farm/station located on the edge of the Australian Outback within an easy 2.5hour drive from Townsville and the Great Barrier Reef. We are located about 40minutes from the major cattle hub and historical town of Charters Towers I love to cook and grow our own food. One of my hobbies is preserving food and baking which has resulted in me starting a Small business called Darlene’s Country Kitchen. I sell my products and produce in our local town, Charters Towers. We also attend a regular Market on the 4 Sunday of every month. Helpers will be expected to feed and water chickens, ducks and geese, collect eggs, help outside in the garden and help indoors. At times helpers will be asked to assist in other jo...

We are a fit and active couple in our 70s who have recently bought a home (2021) right by the water on Lamb Island in Moreton Bay, 30km from Brisbane. It has great views over the bay and has good access to fishing, crabbing, safe swimming and boating. There is a fast and regular ferry to the mainland that takes 20 minutes. There are also several other islands nearby that can be explored including North Stradbroke Island that has wonderful beaches and walks and lots of wildlife including koalas, kangaroos, turtles and dolphin and - from June to October - humpback whales. Over the next two years we will renovate and paint the home, install new kitchen and two bathrooms. Graham has some woodworking skill but needs help during that time with various tasks and we are willing to give you a comfortable bed, good food and company and access to bathroom and washing machine in exchange for 4 hours help per day, 5 days per week. Our preference is for a single person or couple who have some skil...

Come and get a real taste of Nu Zelan! Home brew, home made breads and fresh fish.. Bush crash up the stream, swim at the beach across the road, come fishing with me on the kayaks. Take the bikes, pedal 2km to Waiomu; then tramp/jog to some beautiful Kauri (1/2 to 3/4hr). Do an overnighter at The Pinnacles Hut up the Kauranga Valley if yr into vast iconic views and like tramping (you need to book). If you have wheels you can do great day trips around the Peninsula. And if yr more chill, Thames has some great op-shops. Debs & I are happy boomers on the endless holiday ! Loving every second left. However, we seriously need help with the massive task of @296: gardens to create & jungle to clear ! We are keen to host people who want to help, who are comfortable speaking English (or trying) and value simple routines and shared respect. When Debs & I started hosting in 2025 we moved to the sleepout making it possible to host helpers hopefully from different cultures in the house. T...

WELCOME TO PARADISE GLENORCHY! We are a busy couple working full time and needing help with our property. Based in the spot chosen by the original settling family in the area, we have a really well established garden that needs taming and some quirky buildings that need some TLC. Looking for hardy gardeners, handy DIYers and folks who are keen to just generally get stuck in. We have a great retro caravan, sleep out, outdoor kitchen and bathroom set up that's screaming out for someone, two friends or a couple to bring it to life. At this stage we a only provide breakfast, but could do lunch in some situations. We have heaps of freezer space and suggest you stock up on a few dinners, and drinks in Queenstown before you get here as the local shops are a bit pricey. Spark phone signal is limited to the end of the drive, OneNz works just fine. - free internet available. We recommend helpers have there own wheels, as we're 5km outside of Glenorchy. There is however a bike you can use if ...

HAPPY SUMMER 2026 Things have been moving along, slow but meticulously! It feels good to be making progress and I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel…on my sailboat. I am taking some time off until late July and then begin working on my sailboat again. There are plenty of volunteer opportunities; a lot to do, at any skill level. Many projects take only 5-30 minutes to explain and easy for someone new to do the specific project well. Other projects require knowledgeable skills and other projects necessitate someone that has a fair amount of specific experience. Anyone that volunteers on my sailboat can join me sailing once my boat is back in the water later this year or at some other point in the future! I anticipate my boat will be back in the water by mid to late Autumn. If this interest you, or you have questions, contact me through HelpX or call me direct via my mobile phone (also WhatsApp number). Below is a list of some of the projects I hope to complete ...

Ideal if you want to camp here and may have a room available in main house to stay...check availability. I'm looking for a help in a number of areas that include: - Weeding - small weeds and lantana - Removal of small trees - Planting of native trees - Whipper/snipping, general land care and tidying up - Cleaning - Painting - Creating space in the forest for sit spots - Carpentry and the ability to use existing wood pile for creative seating/shelters Must have own car and preferably an AWD or 4WD, although not essential.
