Upcycling, landscaping, building, ecological projects and more inside/outside near Montebello, Québec Bonjour! Ici Andre et Daniel. Thirteen years ago, we bought an old reception hall that used to be part of a vacation resort. It was originally a piano-bar when it was first built in 1982. The past dozen years of our lives has involved a lot of work turning this 2500 sq ft (225 m²) commercial building into our home and our future life project. We haven't quite figured out the life project part yet, but that was the point of us taking a "semi-retired" sabbatical to let it unfold...naturally! As former urban landscapers, we are stoked by the challenge of greening up a larger space, 5 acres (2 ha) in all with a pure water stream, pond and waterfall. As couchsurfing hosts, we got used to the idea of having company over. When we discovered helpx, the bonus for us was that guests stayed longer and helped out! To be absolutely clear, we are not running a business, a farm or making any money f...

We are a newly-established language center based in Haiphong. We provide English and IT classes at very reasonable prices to people that cannot afford to study at the big language centers of the city. We give classes for all kind of people : university students, workers and children of different ages. We teach English to poor children that come from the countryside. The language center where the classes are held is also the place where we live with the volunteers. Some local volunteers come everyday to the center, cook for everybody and may assist the international volunteers during their classes if they feel they could use some support. Please note that in order to participate in our project, volunteers must stay in Haiphong for a minimum of three weeks, speak fluent English and have some kind of experience in teaching. We provide English. We have different levels of classes ranging from complete beginners to advanced students. Basically the volunteers will help to improve the stud...

The permaculture project and the Farm develop in the social, historical and urban fabric of the town of Modica (RG), mainly between the Fontana, Dente and Pennino districts. We actively collaborate with other projects in the province, from which we learn a lot. We live a sober, frugal, healthy life. We follow, in a somewhat radical way, the ethics of Permaculture and many of its principles. After a period of training in horticulture and spiritual reconnection in the Loire in a Sōtō Zen temple, a PDC at Il Filo di Paglia (Comiso) and two years of agricultural experiences of the most varied in south-eastern Sicily, we feel ready to open ourselves to volunteers , willing and passionate who want to live, share and exchange within in this vibrant and beautiful setting. The Mediterranean Sea is just 20 minutes by train (Sampieri train station). We've got a 17th century house for the project (Oct. 2022), quite abandoned for more than one year: Plenty of work has been already done, some mino...

Help out in the morning (2 hrs), surf or relax in the afternoon. We are looking for one or two happy helpers to assist us mainly with house keeping and general hospitality tasks. Easy work, but would like to have someone with eye for detail. Our lodge is a historic Kauri building situated right on the 90-Mile Beach at Shipwreck Bay in Ahipara, famous for its surf. We are a small guest house with 18 beds and a friendly relaxed atmosphere. Our guests come here mainly for surfing and to visit Cape Reinga. If you are not into surfing, no problem, its a great place to hang out and make friends. The beach is right in front of the lodge, a fantastic place to chill.

Hi - I'm Belle. I live in the Manly (QLD) area, 150m from the water...It's a beautiful little pocket of the world with lots to explore and do. On the weekends you can walk to the local markets which is only 15 minutes along the boardwalk. If you don't have transport there are scooters, buses and a train station 200 metres up the road so its easy to get around. There are also some nice bars and restaurants nearby. A little about me. I am an outgoing, fun loving person who loves meeting people from all walks of life. I do pilates and am adventurous. I have a daughter - Summer - who is 12 years old. She is with me every 2nd week otherwise I'm home alone. Summer is a sweet girl who is heavily involved in sports so often at practice. We enjoy the outdoors and would be able to show you some of the sights and tell you more about Australia + help you with speaking English. Being a single female who works full time, I need a little assistance around the house. For example gardening/mowing, c...

We are a working sheep and cattle station 190km East of Geraldton. There are 2 different roles we would like help with: 1 - The station requires help with general station duties which include general maintenance of water points, fencing and vehicles. The station has a carbon project here so there will be opportunities to learn about and be part of a pastoral regeneration project. There is some stock work to do with the cattle and sheep. There will be lots of opportunities to work with horses if you would like to train and ride horses preparing them for trail riding with guests. 2 - We are running a small scale tourism business which we would like someone to help with caretaking the campground and homestead. It would only require 3 - 4 hours a day which would give you plenty of time to explore or you are welcome to help out with other station activities if you are interested. There is plenty of room to park a car, van, caravan during your stay. Anyone with a trade such as builder, ...

JOIN US ON A BEAUTIFUL TROPICAL ISLAND! We are an English/Malaysian couple running a boutique retreat on the Perhentian Islands, nestled between the jungle and the sea. We have been hosting volunteers now for more than seven years - some have stayed on as long as 3 months and some have come back again the following year. The islands have always had a wonderful interaction between locals and visitors and many visitors make life-long connections with the island and its inhabitants. And the snorkeling and scuba diving is amazing! Swim daily on the coral reef at the bottom of our garden or you can even borrow a kayak and paddle around the island on your day off. From MARCH TO OCTOBER we operate 9 guest villas, a small restaurant that is open for breakfast and dinner and a beach bar. So we are looking for volunteers who can speak English to come and help us. Your help in the cocktail bar and around the restaurant would be invaluable and your interaction much appreciated by our deligh...

I run private English school for children aged between 10 and 19 years old in a small city in West Sumatra. My goal as the principal of the school is to provide youth from my region with the English skills required to communicate better in the modern world, and therefore provide them with better opportunities in their lives. I would like to welcome any fluent English speakers under the age of thirty to come assist my teachers in the classroom. You would help immensely by having simple conversations with the students and give them a real English speaking experience inside or outside the classroom. All the students are very welcoming and curious about my visitors and I am certain that you will have a great experience while interacting with them. You can expect answering all their curious questions, pose for pictures and be invited for lunches, snacks and dinners. Classes in my school run from 2pm to 6pm and mostly consist of two lessons/classrooms per day. I would also like to ...

Hi. I am located just out of Katikati on a 3-acre block which I share with chickens, a friendly dog and a cat so someone who likes animals is a must. Unlimited wifi, Netflix and neon The property has spray-free limes, avocado, apple and fig trees with an organic veggie garden There are plenty of great hikes around the area with hot pools minutes away. Own transport would be ideal for you to be able to explore the area and nearby beaches in your free time. As I work full time I am looking for help to maintain the property. At present, I am working on creating a tranquil retreat area where I am have just finished planting, now onto laying paths. There are also trees to cut so someone experienced with a chainsaw is a bonus but not essential. On the days I am not working in town, I will be here working with you, although the work can be physical at times, I don't ask people to do anything I would not do myself. More hands make light work! Hello Travellers! We are looking for one or two helpers for a week to 10 days from 20th June to help us with lots of little jobs around our house and garden. The work will involve water blasting, indoor and outdoor painting, some small home improvement jobs, trimming shrubs and small trees, weeding, and general garden maintenance. Some of the jobs will involve climbing up ladders, for example onto our carport roof (about 2.50m high) so it would be good if you felt comfortable with this kind of work. We will actually be driving south from Taupo to Palmerston North along State Highway 1 on the 20th of June in the afternoon, so if you are travelling that way to get to us, we can give you a free lift. We are a Kiwi-German-Italian family of 3 and two original Kiwi cats at the very edge of Palmerston North overlooking the Manawatu River. Dad Pietro and 17year-old Angelina are music-lovers so we have a good collection of pianos, keyboards, guitars, bass guitars, ukuleles, a violin, amps and l...

WOULD WELCOME HELPERS FOR A WEEK AT THE BEGINNING OF JULY. In return for 4 hours help a day I offer you accommodation and all meals in a sunny, warm home where you will have your own bedroom (queen size bed) and own bathroom with the added privacy of being in a separate wing of my house. My sunny home sits atop a hill from which you will have a magnificent view of the township of Blenheim to Cook Strait and the hills of the North Island beyond. Of course if you would prefer to work a full day in order to have a day off in which you could explore the nearby Marlborough Sounds, cycle the wine trails, or walk or climb on any of the formed tracks in this area, that would be just fine. My 40 ha property is a sheep farm most of which is leased. I tend a large garden and care for the drive and tracks, drainage and irrigation and deal with fallen trees. It is situated in the midst of vineyards in the Brancott Valley 13km from Blenheim (pop 27,000) which contests the annual sunshine rec...

In northern Spain, on the CAMINO DE SANTIAGO, we are running an albergue/ hostel for pilgrims, for the sixth year in 2023. It is located right ón the original Camino Primitivo, so pilgrims will pass here on their way to Santiago de Compostela. If you want to be a part of a wonderful Camino-experience in 2023 (apr - nov), please read on.. ABOUT US..: Between beautiful mountain slopes, the albergue/ hostel is situated in the heart of the small pueblo of Salas (Asturias).
