Gardening, housework, light mechanical, a bit of hunting, all sorts of things, never boring.A wicked sense of humor is a good asset to bring. handy to Routeburn and Greenstone tracks. You will need your own internet connection as I don't supply wifi. A bit isolated, not for the precious, no trophy hunters!! Please don't apply unless you intend to come for a minimum stay of two weeks. One person only. We do not get involved with internships or visa applications. Vegetarians and vegans would probably not be comfortable as we eat meat daily. I am off grid and totally dependent on solar, so you have to charge your devices during the day and definitely no hairdryers! Accommodation is a house bus in warmer weather or a room in the house in winter, not shared usually. Lastly I also play the guitar (badly) and sing (worse) but it's all about smile not style :-) , please don't come if you have a heavy cold or flu, I'm involved with the elderly. Cheers Al

After selling our farm we have moved to a beautiful 40 acre block on the boundary of Mount Aspiring National Park. Makarora is a small settlement, 60km north of Wanaka, on the way to Haast and the West Coast. Helper tasks include help maintaining the surrounding native bush, care of the chooks, ducks, dogs and house cows. I need a Helper to be motivated, willing to take a turn with the cooking and other household chores. There is a perfect opportunity for a competent and trustworthy Helper to look after things when I am away for a few days every now and then. Own vehicle a definite advantage. Stunning mountain and bush scenery, plenty of places to explore, including nearby Lakes Hawea and Wanaka. Blue Pools only 8km away. ps if you are a critical thinker / freedom person, please feel free to mention this in your application. It is very refreshing to share my days with like minded folk, especially if you are part of the spiritual awakening in addition to being awake to the global ag...

Hi helpers! We are sammy and nick We have moved from our farm to a new place on the coorong in SA! The local town of Meningie! We have built a beautiful home on the lake. and have been hosting helpers for almost 8 years! Check our reviews The position we have currently would suit either a couple or a single. The position is a bee keepers assistant and you would be required to help with bee keeping tasks with Nick like extracting and labelling honey and also taking care of some light house chores like mowing lawn and basic tidy up. If you have your own car that is preferred but not a dealbreaker. ability to drive a manual car would be good. It’s can be hot and sweaty work outdoors in the sun and you cannot be allergic to bees. It can also be very messy and sticky. We would provide you with a room in our home. It is a new build on the lakeside with our dog hoodoo and Nick and myself. We are flexible with task times as Nick and myself still work while managing the bees. So times when w...

Hi There. My daughter and I live on 13 beautiful acres in Loburn, Nth Canterbury, with our flatmate who is also a crazy horse lady. A lovely river boundary property. We are 3 humans, 2 dogs, 3 cats, and up to 13 horses and chickens. We are looking for general help on our land and with our horses. Interest in organic horticulture/agriculture etc a plus. There are usually set jobs that need doing… horse manure that needs picking up…. is a main task. We ask for only 2 hours per day as we don’t provide meals. You’re welcome to accumulate hours if you’d like to plan for days off for day trips in the area etc. so your schedule is up to you. :) We would prefer couples (friends or partners) or extremely self motivated singles. I love meeting new people but have an ongoing health condition that drains my energy so I spend a fair bit of time in recharge mode. If the vibe you’re after is relaxed and peaceful then we’re probably going to be a great fit. PS An insane love for animals...

Come live in the town of Santa Cruz La Laguna on Lake Atitlán for six weeks and join the La Iguana Perdida team! ABOUT US La Iguana Perdida isn't really a place you come to just for a week or two to volunteer- it takes time and depth to get the full Iguana and Santa Cruz experience. Most volunteers arrive expecting a beautiful hostel on Lake Atitlán, and the Iguana definitely fits that description, though what makes the Iguana truly special is the people you meet. Our volunteers leave the Iguana after six weeks with a new group of close friends, a better understanding of Guatemalan culture, and a deep love for life in Santa Cruz. We have been here in Santa Cruz La Laguna since 1996. La Iguana started as a tiny backpacker hideaway and, although we have grown over the years, we have tried hard not to lose what made the place special in the first place. We are a locally staffed hostel, restaurant, bar, and dive center right on the shores of Lake Atitlán. Our Guatemalan staff come large...

Hi there!! We have a small life style property in the sunny sunny Sth Wairarapa consisting of paddocks, gardens, fruit trees, and lawns etc... The living spaces are very tranquil - spacious gardens and pool area - can be quite a bit to maintain sometimes. There are a few animals here as well as many on surrounding farms. The property has two dwellings, as well as an art studio, plus sheds and other farm buildings. Help is always going to be very appreciated with the maintenance as well as the ongoing creation and construction of the garden areas etc. The Wairarapa is situated just an hour north of Central Wellington and we are located 15 minutes from the wine region centre of Martinborough where some of NZ`s great wines are produced There are many cafes, restaurants and vineyards The property location is quiet and peaceful, located amongst farmland on the river with its own private swimming spots. Generally the area is mostly farming and grape growing, the climate is hot and dry - a...

Hi! We are Steve and Johanna, a couple who decided to buy a property with magical views and a shearing shed on the top of a mountain. This venue is very exposed and not for the faint-hearted in wild weather! But when the sun shines it's truly paradise. We converted the shearing shed into a home and have now been here 28 months. We have a small shed next to the house which contains a sleeping "capsule", complete with double bed, lights, mirror, clothes hanging space etc. We have installed a toilet with handbasin behind the garage which serves as a wee bathroom for visitors. There is always a project on the go and weeding and planting to do as well...send us a message or give us a call. If you like to explore, there are plenty of slopes to wander over, plus some beautiful NZ bush. We have 2 energetic Foxy/ Jack Russell puppies who roam and play and love attention. We love the interactions with our HelpX guests and the variety of people we host is stimulating and satisfying. Come enjoy...

(La description en français se trouve plus bas !) We are a small Buddhist community living in the forest close to Sainte-Julienne, Quebec. We have an organic fruit tree nursery, along with many other projects on our land: several fruit orchards, chickens and bees, growing our own vegetables and herbs and trying to be independent in many ways. The six people who are staying are: Ajan, Eric, Veronique, Elisabeth, Natalie and Camille. Each of us have arrived here one by one, at first just interested in helping out in the place, and then as we found that this lifestyle was for us, deciding to stay for longer. For part of the year we also have a couple of employees staying with us. There is also a wonderful dog named Dali. Our organic nursery and garden occupies a land of 9 hectares, surrounded by forest. As well as the main land of the nursery, we have another smaller land where a few of us live. This is, in fact, where the community started to grow from very small beginnings in the ear...

This beautiful, 2.5 hectare garden, set in the heart of Haute-Normandie Pays de Caux near the English Channel and whose light inspired the Impressionist movement, which can be loosely translated as an Arthouse garden. This is not a run of the mill HelpX destination. There is a real opportunity to learn and have a totally unique experience while staying in the 17th century Priory in the centre of the garden. Cécile, the gardening artist or artistic gardener (she conforms to both), welcomes you to join her in this artistic gardening adventure. Previous experience of gardening and some basic French are welcome but not essential as Cecile can get by in English, Spanish and German and will teach you all you need to know; the work, of course, changes with the seasons and can be a variety of brute force and delicate sensitivity but never forgetting that this is an artistic adventure and is open to the public. Help Xers are invited to food and accommodation in return for an average of 5/6 ho...

We are a married couple who have been working at improving the old farmhouse we live in for the past twenty years. We are in our late forties but are young at heart:) We have two big dogs and a cat. Ideally you are open minded, flexible and positive even when it's raining or tasks are challenging. You are independent regarding your free time. You are focused on your work and not distracted by technology and you are physically able. You demonstrate care for the environment by having short showers , recycling properly, using environmentally friendly products for washing (e.g.by using soap , no chemicals) and by turning off lights when they are not necessary. You will have your own bedroom with wifi access and will share the bathroom with us. There is a couch in our open plan kitchen where you can relax in the evening. Maybe you would like to give yoga or meditation a try with Anne-Marie who is a qualified yoga and meditation teacher. We take our dogs on a walk by car to a nearby be...

Visit the Thames Coast on the beautiful Coromandel Peninsula! Enjoy home brew, home made breads and fresh fish.. Bush crash up the stream, swim at the beach across the road, come fishing with me on the kayaks. Take the bikes, pedal 2km to Waiomu; then tramp/jog to some beautiful Kauri (1/2 to 3/4hr). Do an overnighter at The Pinnacles Hut up the Kauranga Valley if yr into vast iconic views and like tramping (you need to book). If you have wheels you can do great day trips around the Peninsula. And if yr more chill, Thames has some great op-shops or hangout here and make art. Debs & I are happy boomers on the endless holiday, loving every second left ! However, we seriously need help with the massive task of 296: gardens to create & jungle to clear ! We are keen to host people who want to help, who are comfortable speaking English (or trying) and value simple routines and shared respect. Cheers Al
