We are ceramic artists who live on our 1 hectare property about 20km inland from the beautiful Doubtless Bay area. We run our pottery business from home and look after our organic gardens, small orchard and numerous chickens. We have traveled widely ourselves and hosted travelers for over 10 years with another organisation, so are interested in HelpX for both the cultural exchanges and to be able to share our lifestyle with others while getting some help around the property. We are looking for enthusiastic helpers for help with things around the property such as gardening, wood collecting, cleaning, painting, general maintenance and other tasks depending on the season. In exchange for 4 hours work a day, 5 days a week we will provide you with all meals, but ask that you join in with the preparation, and accommodation in the funky little cabin with it's own veranda.  We will be happy to include you in our lifestyle, maybe you'll be there to go Friday night fishing on our yac...

We are a semi retired couple living in Horse Camp near Gin Gin in Queensland looking for helpers (single or couple) to help around the property. The property is set in a typical 25 acres native Australian bushland, large dam and a creek flowing thru the property, there is a quaint cottage that we lived in for 2 1/2years that will become your home , we now live in our new house that we built which is completely off grid, we generate our own solar power and have our own water supply. At the moment we are in the process of landscaping the surroundings and working on final details, we are looking for helpers who likes to be outdoors and challenge themselves with different chores like assisting with landscaping , gardening, painting, and sit around the fire in the evening and chill. All task performed are tailored to your personal ability. The cottage is a self-contained cabin with solar power, satellite tv, fully equipped small kitchen, bathroom/shower/toilet, gas stove, queen size bed...

Hi, my name is Mary. I live on the border of NSW and Victoria, a town called Albury. There is a train service to Albury from Sydney about 9 hours and Melbourne about 5 hours train trip. I am happy to pick someone from the Albury railway station. Albury is a pretty town on the Hume Highway. It is inland on the Murray River and there are a lot of local attractions, vineyards, historical small towns, snow fields and many more, only a few hours drive. I am located in town, with the railway station and the airport not too far, about 15minutes drive. I am fully vaccinated and require the same of a helper. I only take Non-smokers (meaning you do not smoke at all, outside as well). Currently I am asking for 2.5hrs a day for board only. You can cook for yourselves, buy supplies locally and after cooking clean your area. I would like help with the garden and other general duties around the house, such as cleaning. If you are travelling this way, either going to Melbourne or locally and can hel...

Hi! We are Jalfred and Angelune (and Mimouna, the wild cat), and we run a 1.3 hectares off-grid property and venue where we grow our own vegetables, as well as berry bushes and medicinal plants. Regular projects on the farm include general maintenance like garden bed preparation, planting, transplanting, weeding, pruning, harvesting and processing, as well as special projects like outdoor renovations, fencing, compost making, sod removal, terracing, etc. We live seasonally, and the Yukon seasons are dramatically different than elsewhere in Canada. In May and June, we have school group visits, we start planting the garden and we also start going to Thursday markets in Whitehorse where we sell herbal products. July is a month of general maintenance in the garden and around the property, during which we typically don't host helpers. August, September and October are busy with harvests and processing of vegetables and herbs, and closing the garden for the winter. We typically don't host...

I'm Thanasis, a 45 years old greek man living in the South of the Peloponnes. I'm a farmer, with oranges trees and some olive trees. I also have a shop, mainly selling coffee that I roast on site. I need help all the year to maintain the big farm (orange and olive harvest, trees pruning, pick-up fallen oranges, and so on..) If you come, you will have your own room (1 for a couple or separate), and access to all the rest of the house (kitchen, bathroom...). I like to share the meal, and provide food if you want to cook. You also can use WI-FI connection. You could enjoy the life between the farm and the city of Skala Lakonia, wich offer a lot of coffee shop, restaurants, and any kind of stores. Minimum stay is 2 weeks, to allow time to learn about life on the farm. I need help for a maximum of 5 hours per day, 5 days per week, depending on the weather. I really like to meet new people and introduce them to Greece history. I practice karaté (three times per week) and would be happy t...

Gardening, housework, light mechanical, a bit of hunting, all sorts of things, never boring.A wicked sense of humor is a good asset to bring. handy to routburn and greenstone tracks.you will need your own internet connection as I don't supply wifi. ,a bit isolated, not for the precious,no trophy hunters !! .please don`t apply unless you intend to come for a minimum stay of two weeks. One person only.we do not get involved with internships or visa applications.vegetarians and vegans would probably not be comfortable as we eat meat daily. I am off grid and totally dependent on solar, so you have to charge your devices during the day and definitely no hairdryers ! Accommodation is a house bus in warmer weather or a room in the house in winter, not shared usually. Lastly I also play the guitar ( badly ) and sing ( worse ) ,but it's all about smile not style :-) Cheers Al

Hi, my name is Marianne. I live on a classic New Zealand "tree quarter acre section" on a north facing (all day sun) hobbit hill, looking down to Oamaru. If you arrive early enough at my kitchen window or even up on the jungle hill behind the cottage, you can see the sea and watch the sunrise. A 10 minute stroll down Eden Street gets you either to the CBD or to the shoreline. I am providing three basic meals per day as well as a comfortable and quiet room for your stay and to relax after our daily four hours of working together "out there", somewhere on some befitting project. Currently the main focus is on landscaping, forging a pathway up the hill via carving out soil on one side and adding to the other side, creating little embankment walls in the process. Most of these embankments will be made from recycled Oamaru natural stone, a few with recycled glass bottles. Our white Oamaru sandstone has attracted various sculptors to our town, because it is soft enough to be cut and carved...

Kia ora. . Peak Valley is a high country station (10,000acres) farming merino sheep and beef on the edge of Lake Benmore. We are isolated. 45 mins from the highway. Couples or two friends work best in this isolated environment. The jobs are varied from gardening to farm work. It is a wilderness wonderland we like to share. There is the possibility of paid work if you have the right skill set. It is preferable that you have own transport. Accommodation is your own 3 bedroom cottage and we would supply food as you would cater for yourselves. It is off grid. Internet access and phone are at our home 1km away. Cheers.

We (Jules and Cam) moved onto a 19acre lifestyle block just outside Christchurch last year. We have some pet animals - a cat, Waipu goats, a couple of piggies, chickens and 2 mischievous donkeys. We also have sheep and are getting a few steers. It's a big piece of land and since we both work full-time we would appreciate help with some general maintenance - this could be weeding, lawn-mowing, picking fruit, fixing fences, painting or other adhoc projects. It will most likely be quite physical so bear that in mind. The house is in a very rural and peaceful area at the foot of the Port Hills but a less than 10 minute drive to the amenities in Halswell or cute Tai Tapu. We're approximately 30minutes to the CBD. Whilst we are happy to collect people from bus station/ airport it would be essential to have transport whilst staying if you wanted to get around. We have a spare room in the house, or if you have a van we have a caravan plug on the side of the house so you are welcome to park ...

One thing I can advise helpers who want to get a placement with any host is to have at least one PICTURE of YOURSELF. Just as you like to "see" who and where you are coming, hosts like to see who they are opening their home to. It's winter now, so we won't be working outside. I need someone right away to help with small handyman jobs or selling online eg: eBay, marketplace etc. Knowledge of Carpentry and Plumbing are always appreciated. Car mechanics are always helpful. I would really appreciate someone who can do handyman jobs and wants to come for a week or two. I sell things online and on eBay and would love someone who is good at writing descriptions in English. I have a large house and property in a diverse area of Staten Island, New York that I`m always working on. I plant a vegetable garden in the spring using the square foot gardening method. A friend and I rebuilt the whole house on the inside including jacking it up and replacing the foundation, sills and beams so ther...

Hi there Traveler We offer a farm stay with great views and good conversation. We chopped down a pine forest and replanted with Manuka about 4 years ago so it’s starting to look really great, and more native birds are about. Established a wetland reserve as well. Also we are developing another small retreat area that needs assistance with tracks and tree management. Some stock work is all so on offer but we will work with you all the time as it’s safer and more fun. cheers and safe travels Geoff and Declan

Welcome! I am Fern. I live together with my 3 year old daughter on our small, off grid and very humble farmlet in Guildford, Central Victoria. Guildford is home to one of Victoria's largest river red gums. It is over 500 years old. It's a very small town with only a general store, primary school & pub, half way between Castlemaine & Daylesford. We have been on this land for 1 and a half years & have started using permaculture principals & design. So far, we have completed the fence line, (to keep the rabbits out) & joyously have begun some planting both in the food forest, cottage garden & in the veggie patch. We always have seeds growing in our tiny greenhouse. Fern has a background in florist & plant nursery work and has completed a PDC. Currently a full time Mama, her interest lie in walking softly on this earth, while the little one loves watching the abundant birdlife in our vast open skies! I love kirtan and am busy immersing ourselves in the local community. There maybe a proj...

This is a Standardbred Race Horse (Harness Racing) farm at the foot of Tamborine Mountain. Located 45 minutes from Brisbane in the beautiful Gold Coast hinterland. The closest train station is Beenleigh. Your own car is a plus. We welcome working holiday visa holders with good horse experience and most importantly a passion for horses !! In order to learn your daily task, routine and horses personalities, we will ask you to stay a minimum of 3 weeks. Long stays are really welcome. Your role on the farm would be helping with the daily care of our racehorses. It's an everyday job starting depending of the sun (4.30am in summer and later on winter time). We start each morning training the horses, washing them and feeding them. All the retired horses need to be feed and watered as well. We need to feed and water all the horses again each night before dark. The ideal helpers will be positive, willing and with a some decent english. Because it’s a 30 hec property and there is always some...

We are located just 300 metres from beautiful Yaroomba Surf Beach, on a quiet suburban block that is in need of some gardening help. If you enjoy being outdoors and working in the garden, we would love your assistance in exchange for accommodation and delicious home-cooked meals. In return for your gardening help, we offer a warm, homely experience where you’ll feel part of the household rather than just a guest. We provide comfortable accommodation and great meals, and we are happy to cater for dietary requirements. Helping hours are flexible and can be arranged to suit both of us, leaving you plenty of time to enjoy the beach and explore the local area. We look forward to welcoming friendly, reliable travellers who enjoy a relaxed coastal lifestyle and don’t mind getting their hands in the garden!

Winter February 2026 - opening as of Feb 8th Wow, exploring right outside our backdoor along side the Campbell River on Vancouver Island, is a beautiful place to experience Vancouver Island`s great outdoors this winter with all the wild life right in our back yard :) Although we live on a one acre town lot, our back yard is situated on a cliff over looking an accessible beautiful heritage river, with a nature park setting of ferns, Douglas fir, maple and alder trees. You can often see deer, raccoons, bears and the silver backs of salmon and Steelhead fish jumping in the ebb and flow of the river’s pools. We have trail access to the river below, where you can enjoy listening to the sing song of many birds, tubing down the river/swimming in the heat of the summer, and trying your hand at casting for Steelhead fish. As well, our neighborhood is the access point to many scenic nature hiking, walking and biking trails. The ocean photo was taken a couple of miles from my home and all other ...

I would be very happy to welcome volunteer teachers who are willing to help at my school for two or three months, or even for a full semester. *I want the volunteers who work at my school to not feel like they are working. Instead, I want them to feel that they are enjoying themselves and having a holiday while staying with us. Their room is fully equipped with air conditioning, hot showers, and a spacious private room that is separate from the main house, so they can feel comfortable and relaxed during their stay.* My name is Edison I have a wife, her name is Nofi. I also have two children, Ochta (32 years old) and Fadlil (12 years old). Ochta can speak English. I run a private English school for children between the ages of 7 and 19 in the small town of Batusangkar, West Sumatra. My goal as the principal of the school is to provide youth from my region with the English skills required to communicate better in the modern world, and therefore provide them with better opportunities ...

We moved back to Dunedin 8 years ago and since have made the garden more diverse by taking out a hedge to plant some native trees to provide better habitat for birds, insects, etc. There is now general upkeep and maintenance in the garden, including some tree and shrub cutting back, and some plants to be moved to more suitable locations within the garden. I focus on growing good organic vegetables, but also enjoy my flower garden. We have an 8 year old dog, Mocha. She was a rescue puppy, and is a Huntaway cross. We have a clean comfortable home, can cook vegetarian or vegan meals if required and are on a bus route which takes 8 - 10 min to the centre of Dunedin.

If you come, you will have your own room (1 for a couple or separate), and access to all the rest of the house (kitchen, bathroom...).

Our pretty little farm is located 5 minutes from Sarina town in central QLD. We are 10 minutes from local beaches and close enough to Mackay which is a small regional city. We are also close to national parks that offer rainforest hiking and camping opportunities. We have 5 acres and are situated on the side of a mountain in beautiful bushland with lots of wildlife around. We are self-sufficient minded people and are enjoying the process of constantly learning new ideas and techniques of living happily and healthily on the land. We are a solar-powered, rainwater fed property and are conscious of reducing our carbon footprint. We have wicking vegie gardens, tropical fruit orchard and coffee trees galore. Kia ora.

My property is 10 hectares on the West Coast of the South Island, which starts at the coast with sand beach and sunsets and heads inland 1km through native wetlands and forest. Approximately 20km from Westport, 1km from Tauranga Bay! Public transport is limited? I'm a Certified Plumber and Drainlayer by trade but recently retired to work on property (next stage of life!) I have hosted many people through Couchsurfing over the years!

Our home is located 7km from central Taupo. There is no public transport available. We have a large native plant garden and a property which needs to be kept tidy as we have visitors coming for the garden and to view our art collection. Taupo is centrally located so many tourist attractions are available within a 2-3 hour drive. There is no public transport nearby so having your own car is essential. Arrival time is from 4pm. Helpers have their own bedroom with views over the garden, good beds, clean linen and own bathroom. We live on a no smoking, no vaping, drugs/covid free property. In exchange for accommodation and 3 meals a day helpers work from 8.30am until 1pm then have lunch and the rest of the day free for sightseeing/personal activities. Work may include painting, housework, gardening, hedge trimming, firewood, small maintenance jobs and weed control. Bring suitable footwear as we work in all weathers. The washing machine is available to use the day before you leave. W...
