I am an ecologist, surfer and mum, who is passionate about restoring our sand dune ecosystems. I am owner operator of a sand dune restoration company. We grow and plant sand dune plants, restoring this threatened environment and essential buffer between the land and the sea. We live a healthy lifestyle by the ocean in the small coastal village of Ngunguru on the Tutukaka Coast located 30 km from Whangarei City. The Tutukaka Coast is well known for its pristine beaches, surfing, diving at the Poor Knights, fishing, walking and enjoying the beautiful coastline. Own transport preferred but happy to pick up from the bus or airport in Whangarei and bring out to the coast if travelling without. I am looking for strong, fit, reliable helpers to become part of a nursery crew staying for 1 week from Sunday 17th November to Sunday 23rd November. This is a hands-on, outdoor role suited to individuals who enjoy physical work, are comfortable working in all weather conditions, want to be part ...

I live in an old farm and farmhouse in Normandy. I have converted a cottage into a holiday cottage with 4 bedrooms (all en suite) and one barn into another. I also had a Yurt (now gone but the pictures are still there !!) and a campsite. With the guest-accommodation, farm and further buildings to be converted, I could always do with an extra pair of hands. Skills can range from building, painting, cleaning, farming and general maintenance. Someone with a sense of humour would be great. I enjoy music so you may find all sorts playing, from classical to Genesis, Roxy Music to London Grammar! Current projects (weather dependent) include: 1. tidying toolshed 2. move garden shed 3. create car port I offer accommodation and meals included in return for help normally 5 days a week. After a week I'm happy to give a day tour of the battlefields ... Phone number (what's app) available on request. Easy to find and get to .. .By train leave Paris at the Gare de St Lazare for Cherbourg. G...

PLEASE READ MY WHOLE HOST PROFILE BEFORE YOU APPLY TO VISIT MY PLACE AND ASK ABOUT ANYTHING YOUR NOT CLEAR ON You don't need to have an overwhelming desire to save the world, live off the land, or be more useful than a Swiss army knife, to stay here. A nice honest person is good enough. This is a relaxing place, close to nature, away from the backpacker trail on the coast but still got a bit happening, somewhere to recharge your batteries, do a bit of work, have a laugh and meet some real Aussies, maybe get out of your comfort zone a bit😜 My place is a cattle farm with one skinny, old farmer, one dog, some cattle, lots of birds and wildlife, relaxing place, near Kyogle, a quiet country town, which is 1.5 hours drive west from Byron Bay. Two hours south of Brisbane by train. Very close to the beautiful Border Ranges National Park (bike ride away). I like to show people around. There is a mountain on my farm with lots of tracks to walk and a creek to swim in, There is a hammock i...

Hello from hosts Sean and Rosemary. We are conservationists and look after our environment, protecting the plants and animals. We will be welcoming helpers for another spring and summer season. We live on an off grid property in a solar passive designed house surrounded by World Heritage forests. There are plenty of good walks around us if you like walking and nature. There are native animals, possums and wallabies as well as the occasional platypus and echidna on our grasslands. No experience necessary. We always have a variety of jobs to do and we love preparing great food for both our selves and our helpers. If you are tired of living on instant noodles and would like some home cooked fresh food please contact us. We have a lovely room inside our house for you. We have had some great helpers this year and would welcome a few more. We have hosted helpers for many years and from countries around the world from Japan and China to Scandinavia and Canada. We have been hosting helpers for over 12 years, in Queensland, Victoria and now the far south coast of NSW. We have recently moved from a 600 acre wilderness retreat to a house on a headland in Tathra, a wilderness of a different kind, with the sea in all its moods, and National Parks within easy reach. The headland walking track is literally across the road, and Tathra main beach is a 20 minute walk. We offer accommodation in a cosy bedroom with its own bathroom (also household laundry). The room has a sea view, and is private from the rest of the house. We share kitchen and living spaces, and generally share our meals together. The work required is 4-5 hours work a day, helping with gardening, landscaping and occasional building. We are looking for people who want who are fit, strong and happy to work outdoors. Please bring suitable clothes, boots and hat. There may be occasional days working on our daughter's property, a simply gorgeous location in the Bega hinterland, with t...

Sorry folks, but we are now fully booked until the beginning of September 2026. There may be a cancellation, but these are very rare, but if you are in the area, reach out, we love to chat :) As well as the normal homesteading tasks, if you want to learn about wine making, bee keeping, self defense, jewellery making, or help Tony with his self defense book and video courses, we could be a great match. Have a think, take a look at our reviews and if you are interested, drop us a line, *** Our beautiful countryside homestead (only 5 acres so not really a farm) is in the mountainous hills above the historic castle town of Caccamo, Sicily. It is surrounded scraggy mountains and long valley walks. It is perfect for hiking or just relaxing in the sun with a good book. Within easy traveling distance for those interested in exploring this culturally rich island, is the seaside town of Cefalù or even the main capital city of Palermo, both are easily accessible by bus and train from the lo...

I am interested in hearing from suitable single female helpers that are able to stay around 3-4 weeks and can assist with care and maintenance of my sailing catamaran and home. My preference for female helpers is largely to do with the type of work you will perform and attention to detail that is required. When I have work that is better suited to males I will advertise as such….just not needed now. Currently I'm cruising and hanging around Great Keppel island and Lady Musgrave island and reef sas weather permits. I have no schedule at present but there will be plenty of places to visit and or options to board from. I need to be on the Gold coast for mid March for a week and then we sail north to Whitsundays and further. You will be an active, motivated person interested in marine life, reefs, turtles, fishing, snorkeling and the ocean as well as wanting to experience life on a comfortable sailing boat. I ask you to volunteer a few hours work each day in return for your own ensui...

West Coast Canada Experience - position open starting June, 2026 - preference given to longer stay helpers Purpose built oceanfront B&B with 3 private self-contained studio suites on the 2nd floor of our home which is on the first floor. Enjoy canoeing, kayaking, biking & hiking at our waterfront B&B. You'll have your own private room. If you have a valid drivers license, and are staying for at least 2 months you may use one of our cars. This requires a discussion, and is on a case by case basis. Cleaning rooms to our 5 star standard is the primary work. Limited gardening, yard work, helping around the B&B with all aspects of running a home-based business. Must be physically fit to do this. Crewing on our boat is optional if you like it - not everyone is comfortable being on the ocean. Here is what a typical summer day looks like: About 1/4 of our guests purchase breakfast. On those mornings at 7:30 am we're in the kitchen preparing breakfast. 8:45 - 9:30 serving breakfast to gue...

I am a chef and musician, that's been traveling pretty much non-stop since I started....After 15 years of traveling, living in many intentional communities, collectives, cooking for many community kitchens, staying in many farms and seeing what it is possible in this world....I have seen many things I have loved and many things that didn't quite work in my opinion...now I have a unique opportunity to start a community based on helping each other (especially those that may not normally have access to such a privileged life-style) grow and learn through workshops and communal happenings. Right now I am in the extreme beginnings. I am looking for land, acquiring tools, equipment, ideas, networking. There is a lot of work to be done...it's not for those that would like to do nothing more than meditate (though, that is super great that you can do that), or get drunk all day (hey, it's a hard world....seriously, no judgement) or complain about all the shit that's going on in the world (you a...

NON SMOKERS ONLY! I am in LAUNCESTON TASMANIA. I (Yvonne) have a house in West Launceston, it is not a farm, it is a friendly house in a quiet Launceston suburb! I can accommodate one or two FEMALE helpers (Due to the religious Haram restrictions of one of our residents I can't accommodate male helpers) for about a week or so from March 2026. Minimum stay three nights. Please inquire about available dates. Accommodation (for a single or two females) is in a private room with a double-bed. (Pictured). I can also add a single camp-bed in this room if helpers are two women who don't share a bed. I have been unwell, have poor eyesight, am on a restricted diet and am often busy doing volunteer community work, so I find it too difficult to have to cook meals and supply food. I can only offer an arrangement where you do two hours work per day for just accommodation and you supply your own food and cook your own meals. If this sounds like something you would be OK with, do contact me! Hel...

My name is Moïse and I am a British/French national living in Bulgaria on a property in the countryside, looking to host anyone who could help with setting up and running a veggie garden and also give a hand with some DIY and maintenance in general and or minor construction. Also my British friend who lives in the same village is looking for someone who could stay long-term in his house to keep him company and tends to the garden as he is getting older and would appreciate the help. Kind Regards, Moïse Chadwick

If you REALLY love dogs, cats and nature and are looking for a role that can lead to working your 88 days for visa sign off or a permanent paid role... We need a kind and fit person to start who would be happy to do all the jobs needed to keep our dogs healthy and happy. This includes a LOT of housekeeping, cleaning, feeding, laundry and dog washing. Your accommodation: you would share a modern two-bedroom home with our other helper (currently that’s Jordan from Germany). You would of course have dogs or cats sleeping on your bed too! This is a great experience for those who are fit and love dogs, cats, cleaning and organising and want to spend some time on a lovely property in a nice home full of dogs. Or you may want to gain the skills to volunteer at a rescue shelter, become a dog trainer, or maybe you might just want to know how to create a create a really great dog of your own. HI HELPERS!!! WELCOME TO JOHN`S FUN FACTORY!!! BULLETIN: I live in a beautiful isolated Tasmanian mountain valley surrounded by world heritage rain forest and some VERY TALL Trees!(but not as big as the Hinoki trees at AliShan in Taiwan!!) Most of my property is a nature reserve, but I have a 2 Hectare orchard, berry garden and vegetable garden which are all useless! The possums, wallabies and birds eat most of these (trees included!) so we live on ice cream and chocolate biscuits instead! Please come and help us eat the biscuits so I don`t get too fat! Oh, by the way, all the Wallabies are called "Skippy" and they don`t mind a bit of apple or banana occasionally. I have been a volunteer host for 18 years and I have had more than 1700(Yes!!!you read it correctly!) fabulous, lovely, wonderful volunteers stay with me. Many of them have come back for second, third…or even 10th visits!!!!! Work can be really diverse including tree planting, mowing grass, helping to install forest fire...

We (Riley, Serene and Bood) enjoy living in harmony with nature and each other. This place is a beautiful property high in the hills above Cairns, that borders World Heritage rain forest wilderness on three sides, and enjoys breathtaking views over the Atherton Tableland. There are permanent creeks, waterfalls, rock pools (for swimming) and a very pleasant climate, without the high humidity that the coast can experience (in summer). That said it can get very wet in summer; our wet season. Abundant wildlife including tree kangaroos, possums, platypus, cassowary and hundreds of other bird species. The property practices holistic management, organics and permaculture principles. Work is mostly gardening, orchard and household duties. Most happy to utilise your unique skills and gifts, where possible. We like to take turns cooking meals, encourage food literacy (from garden to plate), and greater awareness of self-sufficiency. Accommodation for one or two helpers, in our beautiful ...

Our hext vacancy is likely to be in March. From then on we shall be looking for reasonably good DIY handymen and women, with some experience in working with wood, capable of working effectively, when necessary, on your own or as a pair and, ideally, someone who also has some gardening experience, but that is not really necessary, learn on the job! 😉👍. Right now I am renovating a 5m dinghy trailer and a 51 year-old, but still very strong 5m Clark brand, aluminium dinghy, fitting remote steering, centre console, etc. You would probably start your stay by helping with this. You need to be a "morning person" who is happy to start work at 07.00 hr, at least five mornings a week, not a night owl. This is to avoid the heat of the afternoons at this time of year. Most of the work is outside but also based out of a well-equipped woodworking workshop and in our vegetable garden just over 100 meters from the beach.🧜‍♂️ Opportunities on your day off include fishing, sailing, snorkeling, ...

Come experience the stunning views of Te Mata overlooking Whangarei Harbour and Bream Bay. We are looking for helpX volunteers for one or more weeks in exchange for accommodation in a spacious room in the main house, 3 delicious meals a day, and, of course, a great time. Alcohol is available at cost. If we click, long-term stays (until late May 2026) are preferred, just like several of our previous helpers who stayed with us for more than five months! The vacancy is available now. Our 12-hectare lifestyle block is located 20 minutes/km south of Whangarei (15 minutes by car to Bream Bay sandy beaches). It's an oasis of 50% native bush, rest paddocks and subtropical orchards: 60% bananas and a canopy of schizolobium, cherimoyas, papayas, mango, feijoa, and temperate fruits. Not to forget the SACRED GROVE where many events like parties, weddings (Ceremony and Reception) took place. If you're arriving by public transport, we can arrange a pickup in Whangarei. However, having your own car...

Hi there and welcome If you are keen to do something with bees from February to May we will be harvesting and processing honey in the mornings until around 2pm. Please note - if you are allergic to bee stings, then this is not for you! In the afternoons, If you are a capable horse rider you are welcome to come ride with us as part of the leisure activities and spend time with the horses at the farm. We try and get to competitions every few weeks so if you want to travel with us for a few days you are welcome to come along! At times, we travel and work in Canterbury driving through the scenic Arthurs Pass area and work at our small lifestyle property in Canterbury where there are also sheep and bees and we have mature tree plantations for firewood and logs. Work days might be a bit more than 4 hours some days (due to travel to the bee work) but we will make sure you get a fair deal! Hokitika is a really cool little town and you can travel south towards the Glaciers ...

Would like an energetic couple or single person to help out with gardening, and housework. We would expect about 4-5 hours help a day in return for free accommodation and meals. Large bedroom and own bathroom. We have animals so, would prefer someone who enjoyed them being around. There are many wonderful places to explore in Hawkes Bay when you are not working. Fantastic cycle ways, tramping trips into the native bush areas, beaches and wonderful wineries. Prefer you to have your own car to get around and beable to see the region.

Hi Everyone, we are a small farm with a seasonal restaurant and beautiful gardens only 40 minutes from Hobart, and operate for only 3 days a week. A good plan for us is to help us about 24 hours over 4 or 5 days and use your spare days to explore our region, which is truly amazing, I will help with transport when possible. Your Help can be in the restaurant, maybe some light chores in the garden or around the main house, things we can work out! I like to cook seafood and meat dishes, and whatever produce can sourced from the garden. Thanks for reading. I wish you well for your travels and HelpX experiences. Cheers, Mike.

My name is Victor and I have been teaching English to young people from my community for 8 years. I have a small school in downtown Tehuantepec near the market, banks, restaurants, and the tropical forest full of coconuts, bananas, and mangoes. Tehuantepec is located 20 minutes from the ocean beach community, Salina Cruz. I am located only a five minutes taxi ride from the local bus station. I am looking for one person at a time to come and work with my students, which includes conversing with my students and teaching if you are able to. My students need more practice talking to people who speak fluent and clear english. I ask for five or six hours a day working with my students and in return I offer a place for you to sleep and one meal a day and a tour around the city to show you my local culture. You can stay for a minimum one week and a maximum of two weeks, but we can make a deal if it works out and you want to stay longer I have lived here all my life and can introduce you...

Kia Ora travellers! I live with my dog, Nala, in a beautiful big and warm house on a 27 acre life style block with native bush and a little creek. I have an organic vegetable garden and orchard growing fresh vegetables, hazelnuts, walnuts and chestnuts. You can also enjoy great views of the Banks Peninsula from here, away from the hustle and bustle of the city. It’s only 1 hour away from Christchurch city and 30 mins from Akaroa, a lovely seaside town with a rich French heritage. I used to be a Tour Guide for overseas tourists, so I know every nook and cranny of the Great Aotearoa. I would be happy to share with you our culture, history and many stories. I also used to host overseas backpackers when living in Christchurch and I always enjoy having company and learning about cultural differences. There is plenty to do to keep busy and be creative - planting trees, pruning, cleaning up bonfires, getting stuck into the big garden. Work hours are flexible and will be max 4 hours (mos...

I live a 2 minute walk from the beach, beautiful Dripstone Cliffs and Casuarina Coastal Reserve, with my two teenage children, Jack and Amy. The Reserve has many walking and bike tracks We love hosting people who are respectful, positive and interested in simple, natural lifestyles. We eat a healthy, simple and low sugar diet- rice, local vegetables, seasonal fruit, meat etc. I’m happy to accomodate any dietary requirements. I used to host a lot but haven't hosted for a while as we have been moving house and then reorganising our lives. We have made some wonderful friends through this program and having extra help has kept us sane when we are in town. The kind of help I would appreciate can be quite varied. I always appreciate help with general house stuff, i.e. cleaning, gardening, cooking etc. If you have a special skill let me know about it and I am happy to find some projects that could utilise your skill. We have had people help with carpentry, electrics, painting (both artist...

Hi there! I'm a 36 year old regenerative farmer near Daylesford about 1.5 hours North West of Melbourne and I've been farming here for just over 11 years now. Work on the farm is varied but mainly consists of helping with the cows, varied farm projects, weeding, harvesting vegetables, small scale construction and lounging in the woodfired bath! Also if you have any ideas of projects you would like to be involved in building on the farm we would love to hear from you. On our wish list at the moment is building a tiny house, a wood-fired hot tub, bio-gas digester, rocket stove and the list goes on! We have unlimited wifi here and will provide organic food for you to cook and also have some group dinners too. Accommodation is in a separate caravan that is perfect for couples. For more information and photos check out the website link above and if you're interested in helping out get in touch. Main projects at the moment are helping with the cattle, collecting firewood, farm tidying and ...

Update: Hello helpx friends! We are looking for help in fruit harvesting mid November to March. Much of the work involved is maintaining the orchards, mulching (putting cut grass around the trees), and harvesting in the summer, we have some gardening and house jobs. We have free access to the internet. Accommodation for guests is in your own cabin or flat and we provide the food you like to cook. Our farm is quite close to Auckland. There is a new bus service to Kaukapakapa. We can also meet people at the Hibiscus Coast bus station. Hi there. We are a family of four, Jason, Emma, Aria and Jenson living in a beautiful part of North Canterbury on a 20 acre lifestyle block with a few cows, a few sheep, 1 horse (Katie), a big fluffy dog (Faelan) and free range chickens. We raise our own, organic meat and have a couple of tunnel houses so we can grow our own organic food. We live in an old farmhouse, situated approx 2km from Waikari, a quiet, picturesque village with several walkways to explore including an old local fire lookout, the frog rock climb in the Weka Pass and a local walk to some Maori rock drawings. We are also close (40 mins) to Hanmer Springs, 1.5 hrs from Kaikoura, 1 hr from Chch airport and about 20 mins from the beach and the town of Amberley. Your accommodation would be in our comfy, 6 berth, fully self contained campervan (which remains on site). I live between a yacht on Sydney Harbour and a house in a tall eucalyptus forest on the mid north coast of NSW, and need some assistance in working on the house and on another yacht.  I'm a carpenter who worked with National Parks and Wildlife for 25 years before retiring, and live with a small dog Billy. I've had many helpers come stay over the last few years and have been lucky to have so many interesting travellers stay.  My yacht, is currently on the hard at Whoota, where we are renovating her while helping with work on her. I often take helpers out sailing to see the magnificent Sydney Harbour Bridge and Opera House but this is not possible while she is being worked on. Yet, I hope to invite helpers out when she is back in the water. The house is located in Whoota, near Forster. It is surrounded by forest and located a 10 minute drive from pristine beaches, lakes, and bushwalks. There a lots of dolphins to see and beautiful areas to explore. The work we are doing on the house ...

Next availability: Please inquire Hi there, I’m Leon. Through COVID, I saw how serious not having food self sufficiency could be, and started to think about agriculture. Currently, I work at a strawberry farm, invested in a vegetable farm, and just got started on a yuzu farm. The average age of farmers in Japan is at 69.2 (as of 2024) and is set to worsen. There is a serious lack of young people choosing to do agriculture. Your help will be truly appreciated by the farmers here. I started my learning journey in agriculture through volunteering, so I want to create similar opportunities for others to learn, and hopefully inspire people to choose agriculture. I will try my best to give you a meaningful experience during your time here! Please let me know if you have any other skills you can contribute! Where is this? Himeji city of Hyogo prefecture. Himeji city has a population of ~500k people, and is considered “inaka” or countryside by many Japanese people. You can get away from the ...

AVAILABILITY We have a place for ONE individual on 15th February 2026 and are booking helpers ...

** We have limited availability this year** *********************** We are Mark and Anna, and we have two teenage sons and a 20 year old daughter, 2 cats, 1 small scruffy dog called Gus and 4 chickens. We live in a 3 bedroom home in a seaside suburb where the beach is across the road. Mark is a builder and Anna is a nurse. As a family we enjoy watching movies, playing board games and tramping. We love exploring the country and spending time in nature. We also plan to travel a lot in the future now that out children are getting older. We are renovating our home and need help with some of these projects. Any skills such as building, painting, gardening would be advantageous. We would also appreciate any help inside the house such as cleaning, cooking, washing, cleaning windows, and walking the dog. We have started an organic vegetable garden and orchard with chickens, we are building a shed and a BBQ area as well as house projects. Life is busy and we struggle to find the time to do a...

Many helpers stay with us as a base to start their travels in New Zealand and return at the end if they are flying out again through Auckland. Regards Jo and Hal

All meals are provided and while we are a meat-eating family, we are more than happy to accommodate any dietary requirements. We would be looking for he...

Hello, I host solo travellers to help develop our beautiful permaculture garden and homesteading project in Titirangi on the rainforest edge of Auckland... for around 9 day stays. (negotiable) Tasks will vary and be mostly outside in the garden. There is a harbour beach (not swimmable) just a 2 minute stroll through a forest pathway. The accommodation is a lovely bedroom with louvre windows and a view of the garden but it is a single mattress only. We will provide accommodation, free wifi, and one main meal per day in exchange for 3 hours help exchange. I would especially like people who are interested in yoga, meditation, architecture, permaculture, biodynamics or organic gardening but anyone strong and enthusiastic for living close to nature would be great. My property is 10 hectares on the West Coast of the South Island, which starts at the coast with sand beach and sunsets and heads inland 1km through native wetlands and forest. Approximately 20km from Westport, 1km from Tauranga Bay! Public transport is limited? I'm a Certified Plumber and Drainlayer by trade but recently retired to work on property (next stage of life!) I have hosted many people through Couchsurfing over the years! Helpx is a new concept for me I purchased the property which is in need of a lot of work to tidy up, contouring/fencing/and planting trees etc. I'm now into planting out and setting up orchard also clearing introduced plants and replanting with natives. Current projects are building a new cottage for myself which is at the internal painting stage! and similar 2-bedroom cottage as a guest house which is at the internal lining and painting stage! both will be total off grid power and water supply.
