Dear Helper, please use the HelpX message section for your first contact message only, so I can see your HelpX profile and references. But also leave me your regular Email address in this first message for further communication. The HelpX Email server is extremely limited (plain text only and no html, attachments etc.) and messages are deleted fast and randomly. Also, to see more comments and pictures than the 6 allowed here, click on my Facebook link below. Some of my helpers also post their pictures and comments there about staying at my place. I live in an old farmhouse, converted to 3 separate apartments in Madiswil, a small town between Berne and Basel. I live in the second floor apartment (4 bedrooms). The ground floor main apartment is rented out to a single lady with her 2 Cats and 2 Dogs. The 1.5 room ground floor apartment is rented out to a couple. Helpers have their own room (3rd picture of my profile). We have a high speed internet connection. There is also a small swimmi...

Our small farm (https://little-farm.com.au) sits in Northern Victoria, where we grow fruit and vegetables, plant trees, and learn as we go. Tim, a retired engineer, is always building or fixing something. Beth is a teacher and health practitioner who also teaches at university. She tends a rose garden of over 400 fragrant bushes. Early mornings here smell incredible. The property includes an organic vegetable garden, orchard, berries, herbs, and a music room with a baby grand piano. If you play, bring your instrument. We’re close to the Murray River. Big skies, glowing sunrises and sunsets, and rich birdlife surround us. Magpies are part of daily life here, in sound and in art across the farm. Nights are clear and full of stars. Many people arrive tired and leave feeling genuinely restored. What we’re looking for Willing, reliable help Someone who takes initiative and keeps shared spaces tidy A careful learner who asks when unsure You’ll be guided at first, then work more indepen...

I am a wildlife carer and have wallabies in care and other native animals. We need help feeding these orphans and the other rescued and domestic animals. This includes cleaning pens, replacing pouches, washing pouches and bedding. Domestic animals include our 6 dogs, 2 horses, Peacocks, Guinea Fowl, Keats, 2 rescued pigs and chickens, ducks etc. A love for animals is a must. Also need help weeding and planting the vegetable garden. In addition we expect help with setting the table, cleaning up after meals. We do have a dish washer. Good WiFi. Not so good mobile coverage. Would you like to come and help us out? We now have a team for the summer. We may welcome helpers in the fall. We are a cozy and comfortable oceanfront Guest House, with 5 guest bedrooms, overlooking a scenic bay in our tiny community (300 residents) called Sandspit, or K'il Kun, on Haida Gwaii, a remote archipelago on the northern coast of BC. Helpers have a private room, meals catered for, and communal dinners. Bikes are available for exploration of the surroundings, and I will usually take helpers out on local adventures (boating, fishing, camping, hiking, etc.) Work is usually general help for day to day operation of the Guesthouse during the summer Season, May to September (housekeeping, gardening, etc.), and general maintenance, gardening, construction etc. during the shoulder and off-season. In the summer some tasks can be somewhat scheduled (cleaning on busy days) but otherwise, helpers are in charge of their own schedule. It is possible and encouraged to be creative in the...

Hi, we are Zoe (40) and Shmu (39) and live in a small farm house with our 2 young kids, (6 & 3) and a kelpie in the beautiful Manning Valley on the mid coast of NSW. We have an on farm business where we make fermented food and drinks (Bottle Culture) and wholesale them to shops on the east coast of Australia. That takes up most of our week but we also manage our herd of cattle for beef and have many projects around the farm - plus the kids extra curricular activities! We mainly need help with tidying up and maintaining the farm. Some current projects include: We have old cattle fencing that needs removing, and new fences to be put up so if you love fencing let us know! We're also about to pull down the old dairy and rebuild our cattle yards. We want to build a new cool room using second hand panels we have that need cleaning up to use, plus other odd jobs to finish off our business shed. We are renovating a cabin as a spare room/art/crafts space so it needs cleaning, walls patch...

Hello kind stranger! Our names are Claire and Michiel, we're a young Franco-Belgian family living on an old farmstead near the coast of Wissant, North of France. For 8 years now we are bringing the old farmhouses back to life, while also bringing up our two daughters: Fleur (5 yo) and Perle (3 yo). We've been hosts since 2021 and we love the life that a group of volunteers brings to our place. Making you discover French culture, nature and the sea helps us to enjoy it even more ourselves. Teaching French and picking up on your languages widens our world view and helps our kids to be future globetrotters - like you! The different nationalities we're welcoming make us feel like travelling the world while staying at home. Every day we're hosting, it widens our horizon and gives us love, laughter and friendship. So far we've made an old stable into our home, we've renovated a 'longère' (long farmbuilding) into a woodworker's workshop, our workshop and office space, we've landscaped the c...

Hello, my name is Florent, I'm 45 years old, I was a chef for about twenty years, and since 2017 I've been a spirulina producer. Spirulina is a microalga that's very rich in nutrients. It's a very environmentally friendly crop, requiring little energy and no pesticides. Spirulina needs sun and warmth to grow. The harvest season in our region runs from April to October, and it's during this period that I'm interested in hosting someone (I don't need two people at the same time, one is enough). Normally, I already have people helping me until the end of august, so I'm looking for someone from beginning of september. I mainly need someone to help me harvest the spirulina but also sometimes to help me out on the farm with various tasks, as we do everything ourselves: cleaning, labeling, packaging, general maintenance and odd jobs, and also everything else that goes along with the spirulina production: clearing brush, chopping wood, going to markets from time to time, house constructi...

I'm Thanasis, a 45 years old greek man living in the South of the Peloponnes. I'm a farmer, with oranges trees and some olive trees. I also have a shop, mainly selling coffee that I roast on site. I need help all the year to maintain the big farm (orange and olive harvest, trees pruning, pick-up fallen oranges, and so on..) If you come, you will have your own room (1 for a couple or separate), and access to all the rest of the house (kitchen, bathroom...). I like to share the meal, and provide food if you want to cook. You also can use WI-FI connection. You could enjoy the life between the farm and the city of Skala Lakonia, wich offer a lot of coffee shop, restaurants, and any kind of stores. Minimum stay is 2 weeks, to allow time to learn about life on the farm. I need help for a maximum of 5 hours per day, 5 days per week, depending on the weather. I really like to meet new people and introduce them to Greece history. I practice karaté (three times per week) and would be happy t...

We're Manon, Alessandro and Brioche (I'm a dog) a little young family passionate about nature, travelling, independence, regenerative practices, agriculture, farming, gardening, trekking and life. After almost 10 years of working and travelling overseas we felt the the needs to set roots and to transform our dream in to a reality. We bought an old farm stable in ruins (dry stone building) inside a very small village and a few hectares of old chestnuts forest next to it. On one side we want to restore the old building using eco techniques, as much as we can, to transform it in to our house and on the other side we are developing a syntropic garden, a little orchard based on agroforestry systems principles that will also be applied to some parts of the chestnuts forest. We're located in South Ardèche, near the town of Joyeuse. The place is famous for its rivers, canyons and forests with plenty of hiking and biking trails, bathing spots, canyoning, rafting, climbing spots, old small vil...

Joseph is a retired professional photographer, and Deborah is a voice teacher who has worked both at the University of Florida and in her private studio. We’re well-traveled, enjoy thoughtful conversation, and genuinely like meeting people from different backgrounds. The property includes a small pond, abundant wildlife, and a quiet, peaceful setting with very little light or noise pollution. Nights here are especially beautiful. Please Read Before Reaching Out To help ensure a good fit, a few important points: * We are not a working farm * We are currently hosting short stays only (about one week to start) * The help is primarily: * housework * cooking * light gardening * occasional simple...

I usually live in Australia with my husband but have returned to Japan to look after my 100-year-old mother at her house in Yokohama, an hours drive south of Tokyo. My husband will soon return to Australia as the fire season is approaching and there are dangers for our house in the forest there (see BLOG and WEBSITE). With only me looking after my mother it is quite intense as I can get little rest, and according to my mother's doctor, the intensity will only increase towards the end of the year. I worry I will have trouble in the future getting out to do shopping and even my own medical appointments. There is a constant flow of medical professionals coming to the house (nurses, doctor, physiotherapist, dentist, masseuse and social worker), but this does not give me a break as it is important that I am present and alert absorbing any developing insights. Given: i) very positive experiences in Australia with HelpX helpers (see reviews in the WEBSITE), and ii) the fact that the top fl...

🌿 Come help on our farm! July and August...At the moment we have room for one boy between the ages of 18 and 30, with some woodworking skills, but must be prepared to help in all areas of the farm and we have plenty of digging to do too. We have plenty of food. We need friendly volunteers to join us with cooking, cleaning, gardening, and everyday tasks — no experience needed, just a good attitude and willingness to muck in.We are looking for helpers between the ages of 18 to 32. We are a small community of friends working towards a better life in a beautiful part of rural Devon, in the Tamar River Valley Estuary where you will make friends for life. In exchange for your friendship while you are staying here we will endeavour to teach you new skills that will carry you through life. A small farm in a beautiful location! Our farm and home probably date back to pre 1660's, with many additions since. It has been left to go wild for the last 40 years. The river has otters, seals, beavers...

My husband, Tony, and I offer self-contained accommodation for short stays for a couple or two friends (any genders) who would like to explore the beautiful Yarra Valley or who are in between jobs (Often longer stays are possible depending on whether we have family coming to stay and using the studio.) Our property, Lavender Farm, is about 6 kilometers from the small tourist town of Healesville in the Yarra Valley. The Yarra Valley is wine-growing region at the foot of the Great Dividing Ranges. It is about 1 hour by car from Melbourne. We have a lemon orchard, vegetable garden, horse paddocks and some bush. We are not a commericial lavender farm although we have a lot of lavender growing in the gardens. There are some rescue horses (not rideable) and a pony , chickens, very friendly family dogs and a swimming pool. (too cold at the moment!) Our daughters are grown up and living in Melbourne so we normally just see them on the weekend and when we look afer our grandchildren one ...

We grow organic table grapes, a few fruit trees, chickens and a few pigs. This is a real farm experience, mostly working in the vineyard, with some fun too. There is biking to town, swimming in the ocean or our lake, fishing, basketball, volleyball, hiking, nature walks, beach strolling and look for fossils at Blue Beach, camp fires , rope swing in our little lake, take in the fantastic views, sunsets, star gazing, internet, phone and go to nearby towns such as Wolfville and Hantsport as well as the rest of the Annapolis Valley with the local bus. The accommodations and kitchen are separate for helpers cooking with an abundance of food. This is a more independent farm stay. Hope you can make it here.

Hey hey HelpX'ers! 😊 I'm a 31-year-old Kiwi who has spent over five years travelling the world, visiting more than 60 countries and doing HelpX and working holidays in several of them. Those experiences were some of the highlights of my travels, so now it's my turn to return the favour and host! Our farm is a little slice of paradise. We're just 5 minutes from the beach and 5 minutes from town, but tucked away enough to enjoy peace, quiet, beautiful sunsets, and some of the best starry skies you'll ever see. I'm hoping to welcome people who value kindness, respect, good conversation, and enjoying the simple things in life. My goal is to create an easy-going environment where work gets done, but having a great experience together is just as important. The work is a relaxed mix of farm, lifestyle, and general property jobs. We have cattle, chickens, our friendly cat Molly, gardens, an orchard, and there's always something different happening, so no two days are ever the same. I kno...

Hello Potential Volunteers My name is Paul and it was my dream to change my lifestyle from being an office worker to becoming an alpaca farmer.... here we are 14 years later with 100 alpacas, each individually cherishes with names and unique personalities, plus an assortment of other animals all needing our love :) I have three children: Liam (21), Dylan (9) and Oscar (6), and our 100-acre farm is home to approx.100 alpacas, plus llamas, peacocks, hens, mini pigs, a cat named Sexy, and our farm dog Malta. This year we are expecting 20 'cria' (baby alpacas) and each one will need our help so they can thrive! We need to ensure they get colostrum (filled with antibodies and vital for good health) – have they fed from their mums within the first 24hrs? Are they then drinking enough milk from their mums every day? Are they gaining weight? The well-being of my animals is the most important thing on the farm. Do they have good food and enough water, and the best possible natural environme...

Unless Telstra. 20 km from town so own transport an advantage. However, we can take you exploring the local area. Due to natural disasters in our area, we are now eligible to sign off volunteer work to contribute to 88 day second year visa. Happy to send more information to potential helpers.

About Us We’re Joseph and Deborah, living in a large, older home on ten wooded acres surrounded by lakes and protected forests near Gainesville, Florida. Joseph is a retired professional photographer, and Deborah is a voice teacher who has worked both at the University of Florida and in her private studio. We’re well-traveled, enjoy thoughtful conversation, and genuinely like meeting people from different backgrounds. Our home was originally designed as a hunting and fishing lodge and has evolved into a comfortable, lived-in space with plenty of character.

I kno...

I can't see the world, but the world can come see me. First and foremost, I want to thank all the helpers who came from United Kingdom-England, France, Belgium, Italy, China, Japan, Australia and New Zealand. Welcome Helpers. We are a family of 5 living in the Appalachian Mountains of West Virginia. Sue is the founder of this place. Her daughter Ruth moved to the Hollow later as well as her husband Tim and their 2 daughters. Our hollow is quite with no neighbors in sight. There are no city lights, and you can see every star on a clear night! Our homestead consists of Sue's workshop/cabin, Tim & Ruth's cabin and one very small guest cabin. Also, there is a private guestroom with private entrance on the second floor above the workshop/cabin combination. . We have a lot you can be involved in, knowledge to share, friendships to build, and opportunities for growth. Below are our routines and some projects. We would love to involve you! - Caring for our honey bees, chickens, cats...
