This is an idyllic location 2km out of Mullumbimby (Alternative culture.. population 5,000.. close to Byron Bay... plenty of shops). I live in an old house which is 2 Queensland style structures, interconnected by verandas with a good sized pool (see photos). There is bus transport to beaches at Byron Bay (20 mins) and Brunswick Heads. (10 mins). This area is known for alternative life style and free thinking. My name is Derek Spice (AKA Dee to friends). The photo of me shown was taken recently at my daughters wedding in London. I had several successful businesses in the UK before moving to Australia in 1996 with partner and 3 children. My partner., Jane Hanckel, lives close by and we have a good relationship. ....I am sometimes grumpy but easily pleased particularly if Helpx guests laugh at my sometimes bad jokes. PLEASE READ MY HELPX GUEST REVIEWS. I have been in radical action to release Julian Assange (now achieved) and to stop the war in Gaza. Also to revolutionize mainstr...

Looking for a lovely volunteer to join us and our animals. AVAILABILITY FROM the end of June as we are fully booked until then. Please contact us if you are interested in helping look after our wonderful animals. Experience with horses is useful but not necessary as long as you are happy to care for them. You will live as part of the family - during your stay, our home will be your home. We are a married couple living on a property with our DOGS, HORSES and some elderly but treasured chickens. Depending on the time of year, we also run a small scale rescue and rehabilitation centre for hedgehogs. There are stunning views looking out over a Devon Wildlife Nature Reserve and beautiful countryside. We live in a very attractive rural area of Devon on the outskirts of a beautiful old village called DOLTON (please look on "Google Earth") about a 45 minute drive from Dartmoor National Park. The village has a very friendly and active community, a church, 2 excellent traditional pubs, a pos...

Permaculture project with idea and space to create an eco-village. The quinta is located in Alto Alentejo 2km from Portalegre. 15 hectares with magical forests and a beautiful valley provided by seventeen sources and several mines with healthy water where too people live permanently for the moment,Isabel, a communication manager and Michel, a carpenter who is the founder of the project. There is also one dog, five cats, for chickens and six sheep. The project is now in the phase when it’s open so that more people can live here. Because parts of the ruins are ready for occupancy, there is space for people who want to stay longer, which can bring new and stronger dynamics throughout the year, not like before, when there was only a lot going on in the summer months. So far there is already a beautiful gardens going on and numerous species of plants, shrubs and trees which deliver us plenty of food. We are happy when someone shows enthusiasm for the garden because this is a central part...

Would like an energetic couple or single person to help out with gardening, and housework. We would expect about 4-5 hours help a day in return for free accommodation and meals. Large bedroom and own bathroom. We have animals so, would prefer someone who enjoyed them being around. There are many wonderful places to explore in Hawkes Bay when you are not working. Fantastic cycle ways, tramping trips into the native bush areas, beaches and wonderful wineries. Prefer you to have your own car to get around and beable to see the region.

We are a fit and active couple in our 70s who have recently bought a home (2021) right by the water on Lamb Island in Moreton Bay, 30km from Brisbane. It has great views over the bay and has good access to fishing, crabbing, safe swimming and boating. There is a fast and regular ferry to the mainland that takes 20 minutes. There are also several other islands nearby that can be explored including North Stradbroke Island that has wonderful beaches and walks and lots of wildlife including koalas, kangaroos, turtles and dolphin and - from June to October - humpback whales. Over the next two years we will renovate and paint the home, install new kitchen and two bathrooms. Graham has some woodworking skill but needs help during that time with various tasks and we are willing to give you a comfortable bed, good food and company and access to bathroom and washing machine in exchange for 4 hours help per day, 5 days per week. Our preference is for a single person or couple who have some skil...

We live on an organic property with a house, charming old cottage that we Airbnb, extensive vegetable garden, tunnel house, fruit trees and food forest. The property is just outside Carterton. My husband is retired and I work in Wellington. Sometimes our young adult children stay and we have a dog called Charlie. We can collect you from the station and drop you back when you leave. You can stay with us in the main house where we have a 2 spare rooms with queen sized beds or possibly in the Airbnb if it is not occupied . The number of people we can take depends on whether the cottage is empty. We need help with gardening, cleaning and other tasks for half a day in exchange for accommodation and food but happy to negotiate other arrangements to suit. The Wairarapa is a great spot to visit with interesting tow...

Hi there travellers! I'm looking for someone to do some weeding, other gardening and other mostly outside work. There's a couple of leaks in my irrigation I have yet to find. I've always got inside work to do as well, mostly cleaning. So on these cold winter days, we can be busy inside. There's always lots to do. If you are a couple, or two couples even - you are welcome to buy and cook your own food and set your own pace around exploring/helping out in the garden. If you are travelling alone and prefer company you will be welcome to eat with us, and I am happy to set an extra place at the table. It will be expected that you spend more time hanging out with me in my garden! While you are here, whoever you are, you will be welcome to participate in our daily life, to learn about how Kiwis live. We have a large property with many apple trees, almond and peach trees, apricot and plum trees, plus lots of gardens. Also a lovely fire pit to enjoy a late night chat around. We have a ...

Autonomy for everyone, especially for you and us at mealtime ... Resources are shared according to the availability of the moment. More possibilities if my children are not there, less if I have other guests ... fortuitous ... In the meantime we have no shortage of space in the garden to let you plant your tent or you lend a space... This is the minimum we can guarantee. A cabin is also available on the family sailboat ... Here too, there is work ... The room with double bed of the house is not often free for our helper sometimes the chance does things well, ask what you want, we are in French Polynesia climate is stable all year ;-) We will not ask for more than 2 or 3 hours of help a day in exchange we plan to lodge without food, although fruits from the garden are still part of the tradition of sharing the house... It's up to you to do your shopping and your dish washing and cleaning up after, the load will be in our situation not equitable otherwise.

(La description en français se trouve plus bas !) We are a small Buddhist community living in the forest close to Sainte-Julienne, Quebec. We have an organic fruit tree nursery, along with many other projects on our land: several fruit orchards, chickens and bees, growing our own vegetables and herbs and trying to be independent in many ways. The six people who are staying are: Ajan, Eric, Veronique, Elisabeth, Natalie and Camille. Each of us have arrived here one by one, at first just interested in helping out in the place, and then as we found that this lifestyle was for us, deciding to stay for longer. For part of the year we also have a couple of employees staying with us. There is also a wonderful dog named Dali. Our organic nursery and garden occupies a land of 9 hectares, surrounded by forest. As well as the main land of the nursery, we have another smaller land where a few of us live. This is, in fact, where the community started to grow from very small beginnings in the ear...

*Sorry, we aren't available to host at the moment.* In 2023, we moved to a small 6ha farm which is mainly used for grazing horses. It has a couple of waterways running through the paddocks, and around 2ha of natural wetlands which were drained many decades ago. Our plan is to gradually plant native grasses and trees along the waterways, and eventually restore the wetlands to their natural glory. We need some help caring for all the new plantings – depending on the season this could be shovelling horse manure around the plants (spring), clearing weeds (spring), using a wood chipper to create mulch (spring/summer), or planting more trees (autumn/winter). We're pretty flexible though, and would also appreciate help with our vegetable garden, fruit trees, cooking & cleaning, dog-walking, fixing sheds, and maybe even some babysitting (our daughter was born in July 2025). Whatever you prefer! We generally ask for around 3-4 hours of help per day, 5 days per week, in exchange for a private...

We are a cultural and arts community that is working towards being self-sustained. The community is situated in the mountains of Monchique, Portugal surrounded by nature. Our community provides an alternative way of living with permaculture gardens, farm animals, sustainability projects, and arts and cultural workshops. It is a great place to come to meet other like-minded people if you are passionate about sustainability and alternative living. We hold community meetings throughout the week alongside activities and workshops, such as quiz nights, dance nights and yoga classes. If you have something you are passionate about and want to share with others, we would love for you to run a workshop. One of the best things here is the variety of tasks you can do as a volunteer, which gives you the opportunity to learn new skills and discover what you enjoy doing most. We have a combination of short-term and long-term volunteers and on average we have between 10 to 20 volunteers and resident...

Minimum stay is two weeks. Help needed in April planting trees and preparing soil for planting and sowing seeds. Would like to learn more German so help with that would be good. Looking out for 3-D artists to make an addition to our sculpture trail in the woods! People with interest in natural history or the arts are welcome and we like interesting food from different cultures. We are now growing more vegetables and have some Hebridean sheep and a few chickens. Springtime is preparation for the summer and tree planting. In July we need help picking fruit (raspberries and cherries) so half your time will be spent picking fruit or foraging and the other half will vary. Please state in your application that you are fine with this. We have a farm that has been converted mostly into trees ages 20 - 35 years ago that need maintenance. This involves pruning the trees and planting new ones and weeding round the trees. We also try to develop the flora in the woods by planting wild flowers an...

I used to do glamping big time, I've stopped it it's just too much for me now......the accommodation for volunteers is a caravan with a compost loo outside, you have a cooking facility, to prepare your own meal. I am quite solitary, and early riser early to bed person, happy to work together and chat during the day. I am happy to buy all your food needs, but ask you to prepare your own food, as I am an extremely simple eater, so do not cook as such... You do need your own car here, as public transport is non existant I am deaf, but have a cochlear implant now so not too bad..... Thanks The place is located in a small village called Brilley, no public transport, nearest town Hay on Wye is 5 miles away. please email me or phone thanks

Kia ora, we extend a warm invitation to host a physically strong, fit and capable couple for approximatelly a week between 4 and 18 June, and again from 25 June. Our home is nestled in semi-rural Paremoremo, a mere 10-minute drive from central Albany on Auckland’s North Shore. This area is full of serene natural beauty, enveloped by lush vegetation, and great views of the upper harbour. We are lucky to have an abundance of native birdlife which we marvel at every day. Paremoremo is only about 20 minutes drive away from beautiful white-sand East Coast beaches, which are good for swimming and also sometimes have great surf. Additionally are within an hour's reach of the rugged Waitakere bush ranges and the distinctive black-sand beaches of the West Coast, which offer regular awesome opportunities for surfing and day treks. We are both around 60 so we are slowing down and need help but still very young at heart! Russell has a full-time role as a Project Manager and is keen to help you ...

Hello, and thank you for looking at our page/profile! We are looking for a helper (1 person) during springtime (2026) for a 2 week period, maybe longer. Starting in May and continue through the summer and fall. We would like help inside and outside and with plenty of gardening and watering of the garden. Outdoor work includes keeping the gardens tidy, cutting and trimming of trees and mowing the lawn. Also the helper must be able to lift and haul fireplace wood and (ideally) know the use of a chain saw but not necessary. All these tasks we do together. Further work includes simple window washing, exterior window and door painting. Saturday house cleaning, gardening, pool cleaning, ironing sheets for the rentals, etc. We are chefs from New York City so we offer great food and comfortable accommodation though we do not do cooking classes to our helpx friends. Nearby is a city called Altus of 19,000 people with stores, bars, restaurants and entertainment. You are invited to our place, either just to visit or to stay and help out. We have 4 bedrooms for travelers and helpers in our guest house available for you (can accommodate probably up to 10 people) and there is also a game room, swimming pool (in the summer) and basketball court on the property. My name is Kara and I decided to leave the madness of the big city of Amsterdam to live in an off-grid mountain home surrounded by nature. After pausing my project for few years to travel, I have now returned and am continuing to develop it. I enjoy meeting people from different cultures, sharing experiences, and having good conversations. Guest have a private room and WIFI access. There is always something to do, such as gardening, planting flowers and trees, and occasional small repairs. Being handy is appreciated but not required. I share my home with cats and a dog, so animal lovers are especially welcome.

I can't see the world, but the world can come see me. First and foremost, I want to thank all the helpers who came from United Kingdom-England, France, Belgium, Italy, China, Japan, Australia and New Zealand. Welcome Helpers. We are a family of 5 living in the Appalachian Mountains of West Virginia. Sue is the founder of Peaceful Hollow. Her daughter Ruth moved to the Hollow later as well as her husband Tim and their 2 daughters. Our hollow is quite with no neighbors in sight. There are no city lights, and you can see every star on a clear night! Our homestead consists of Sue's workshop/cabin, Tim & Ruth's cabin and one very small guest cabin. Also, there is a private guestroom with private entrance on the second floor above the workshop/cabin combination. . We have a lot you can be involved in, knowledge to share, friendships to build, and opportunities for growth. Below are our routines and some projects. We would love to involve you! - Caring for our honey bees, chickens,...

We are restoring a fabulous castle with 365 windows that still badly need TLC : putty, linseed oil, varnish... April, May, June, September, October are usually fine. July and August are not a time when works can be done at the chateau as visitors are around. We would be very glad to welcome one or two people who are fond of old places and heritage. There are lots of other things that need doing as well. If you like refurbishing, if you are good at clearing up, carpentering, plumbering or gardening... you'll have lots to keep you busy ! We live in the South West of France, the Dordogne, in an area where there is lots to visit and enjoy. We don't actually live in the chateau (so there is some travelling involved) but in town which is nice because Périgueux is a lovely little city right in the center of the Dordogne. You will be able to share our family life with our teenage daughter. We often have our children and grand-children during the holidays. We speak both French & Engli...

I'm Thanasis, a 45 years old greek man living in the South of the Peloponnes. I'm a farmer, with oranges trees and some olive trees. I also have a shop, mainly selling coffee that I roast on site. I need help all the year to maintain the big farm (orange and olive harvest, trees pruning, pick-up fallen oranges, and so on..) If you come, you will have your own room (1 for a couple or separate), and access to all the rest of the house (kitchen, bathroom...). I like to share the meal, and provide food if you want to cook. You also can use WI-FI connection. You could enjoy the life between the farm and the city of Skala Lakonia, wich offer a lot of coffee shop, restaurants, and any kind of stores. Minimum stay is 2 weeks, to allow time to learn about life on the farm. I need help for a maximum of 5 hours per day, 5 days per week, depending on the weather. I really like to meet new people and introduce them to Greece history. I practice karaté (three times per week) and would be happy t...

**We are looking for helpers in July, September and early October. ** Hello, we are a small organic wine and fruit farm in the South of Germany, run by a middle aged couple (Monika and Sven) since 2008. Our products are spirits from our fruit that are produced in our distillery (we were awarded "best distillery of the state"), wine and honey from our bees. Also we organise wine tastings and group events. Lately we added a little craft beer brewery and we open our beer garden in the months June and July. - - - - Depending on your home country you might need a "Schengen"-visa. We live in a fun share house in Maryborough, Marry Poppins Town, with awesome meals and a big edible garden. We're Mars, the owner of the property and Tracy, a former theatre/restaurant owner who's cooking the most awesome meals and looking after everyone like a mum. There're 2 adorable dogs in the family, so you must be a dog lover. Also 6 chicken and 2 ducks, so we always have fresh eggs. We need help with building and creating, and with an awesome but overgrown edible garden. We're about to put 12v solar power into the rooms, also natural air-conditioning and are finishing up the spa bath in the 2nd bathroom... so there's a bit for you to learn and lots of knowledge to take home. We like to work with fun and laughter and love to see you letting a bit of your craziness out. Be yourself and join the family... We have had awesome experiences with travellers so far 😃. Please note that there's a minimum of 1 week stay, we do not like to be used as a pit stop. There's no maximum s...

This is an exciting opportunity to have an experience that will stay with you throughout your life. Our Foundation aims at helping rural children receive a qualitative outstanding education. We have a volunteer teaching program to assist rural teachers and children get exposure to foreign languages and cultures. Because English is the second language in Thai schools, we concentrate on improving the English language skills of both rural teachers and children. At present, we aim to help 4 public elementary schools (grades 1 - 6) close to Chiang Mai. We are currently taking applications for volunteers who would available to start sometime between now and the end of June and commit to at least 8 weeks . We are looking for volunteers to teach English only. Couples are welcome as well. NOTE: We do not charge volunteers any fees for staying with us. Hi everyone! Welcome :) I live in a small and old saxon village (UNESCO Herigate Site) called Copsa Mare, in the heart of Transylvania. I live in a very simple and relaxed way, trying to be in harmony with nature in my small but cozy house. I make hand made products out of wool (felt), such as shoes, hats, bags, carpets, etc. When the weather allows, I will need from my volunteers to help me in my garden with work such as, picking fruits, planting new vegetables and fixing fences.I have some medical problems in the backbone, so I can not get things up. A good help would be the one who likes physical work to. And when the weather is not that comfortable to work outside I will need some help inside, like working with the wool. Better if you have experience with this, but if not, I am more than happy to teach you this lovely art. And during all 4 seasons I will need help with general tasks like cutting wood, feeding the chickens and ducks, and some possible renovation works in the house...

Tasks can be gardening, carpentry, painting houses, general house work or forest work. Also might need mechanical help with machines. The farm is close to the small town of Namsos, and close to the forest, mountains with lakes and the salmon river Namsen. http://visitnamdal.no/ We also have a cabin that sometimes need some maintenance work. It is rural and peaceful but you can walk or bike to the village which has everything you need. There is a train service to Masterton (15mins) and Wellington (1.5 hours).

In the summer time when weather permits, you have a deluxe caravan for your home. You must be very neat and punctual for work a...

It is then valid for most European countries. There is no volunteer visa or something like that. You come here as a tourist. So before getting in touch with us, please check if you can meet the visa requirements, especially if you come from an African or Asian country. Here are the details: https://www.schengenvisainfo.com/how-to-apply-schengen-visa/ - - - - Lately we had many reservations but then people didn't...

The generous gift of your time and dedication is all the donation we will ask of you. We provide the volunteers lodging and meals in retu...
