What we do: We take care of animals, we grow organic food, we prepare and eat tasty vegan meals, we minimize our impact on the earth, and we enjoy the company of our Costa Rican friends and neighbors. Our doors are open to animals in need. We currently have five rescue dogs, five goats, a pig, a horse, one cat, and two water buffalos. We are on an 70 acre farm in North Pope County, Illinois and are virtually surrounded by the Shawnee National Forest. Having been on this farm for 13 years, we are still developing infrastructure and are continuing to plant in the orchard and various berries as well as establishing and expanding garden and crop areas. We are a GMO, herbicide and pesticide free farm in all of our outdoor areas. As we are far away from "modern agricultural" property, we feel that we should have no problems with cross pollination of our crops with GMO's or damage/exposure from/to ag chemicals. We live on a 3 acre lifestyle block of land 32km south of Whakatane. We are close to the Te Urewera National Park. On our land we have 7 Wiltshire sheep as well as ducks and many fruit trees, an organic vegetable garden.also are trying to establish small wilderness area in native plants. The little village of Waimana is 2km from where we live. The Waimana river is good for swimming, kayaking and trout fishing. Work includes helping in the house, garden work and firewood. The area is quiet and scenic. The closest cities are Odda and Bergen. The bosses of the house are 4 dogs and 3 cats. Right now I don't have any farm animals of my own. But the neighbor's sheep live here too. I would have been very grateful for various help on my small farm. The work can be very varied. But I need help with maintenance of the outdoor area, wood working, chopping firewood and snow shoveling. We need a couple to help us for some week from september to june for vintage, olive harvest, gardening, general maintenance and internet announcements. In autumn, winter and spring we have a lot to do in the vineyard, with the olive trees, the house and garden. Accommodation in a full equipped chalet offered. It is better to COME WITH CAR or rent it here. We expect you to work 2 and half hours a day (16-20) hours a week. You should buy and cook your food. Hello, we have a small 3-hectare farm with a vegetable garden, a few fruit trees, and 250 lavender plants. The work is not at all difficult; it consists of watering the vegetable garden every day, which takes about two hour. During the summer, we water the lavender plants twice a week . There’s also some work involved in tending to the plants or harvesting sometime in season . Other than that, if we’re away, you’ll be looking after our mini rooster and his two chicken for the moment . We also have a very sweet cat. Please note that our land is certified organic. Hello, and thank you for looking at our page/profile! We are looking for a helper (1 person) during the summer (2026) for a 2 week period, maybe longer. Starting in June and continue through the summer and fall. We would like help inside and outside and with plenty of gardening and watering of the garden. Outdoor work includes keeping the gardens tidy, cutting and trimming of trees and mowing the lawn. Also the helper must be able to lift and haul fireplace wood and (ideally) know the use of a chain saw but not necessary. All these tasks we do together. Further work includes simple window washing, exterior window and door painting.
