Nestled in the coastal range of Mendocino County, California (about 45 minutes Northwest of Ukiah) we are establishing a small farm and wildlife sanctuary.  Based on principles of sustainability & permaculture our expanding ridge top garden and orchards consist of a variety of fruits, veggies, herbs and flowers.  Aside from garden and orchard tasks additional projects may include gathering seaweed and other native wild foods, cooking, canning, fermenting foods, making herbal preparations, habitat restoration, brush and trail clearing, small scale green building and learning how to build and maintain an off-grid infrastructure and solar system. Please read all of our information before contacting us. We require a one month minimum stay. Our homestead is remote and therefore not for everyone. We prefer those who want to unplug and enjoy the serenity of a mountain forest. If you are open minded, physically fit, want to get your hands dirty and love to be outdoors you will love it her...

Hello helpers I need helpers right now! If you would like us to host you, please read all our profile and wonderful references first. Minimum age 25. We prefer couples, but will consider singles, especially if DIY/gardening skills are involved! WHO WE WOULD LIKE TO HOST: Strong, energetic people, over 25 yrs of age. DIY, semi-skilled, skilled, and/or gardening/housework. MUST BE HAPPY TO DO GARDENING TASKS. Helpers will need to be confident using a self-propelled mower (not a ride-on), a light weight hedge trimmer, and a strimmer, etc. The work is all physical, (no heavy lifting), and helpxers need to be completely ok with that, as well as happy to work on your own quite a bit. General help for cleaning and gardening, washing vehicles, etc. A can-do attitude is good! We can show you how to do stuff, sometimes do stuff with you or leave you to do it alone if you're confident. Further skills appreciated (diy, maintenance repairs, etc) Best suited to working guests who reli...

PLEASE READ MY WHOLE HOST PROFILE BEFORE YOU APPLY TO VISIT MY PLACE AND ASK ABOUT ANYTHING YOUR NOT CLEAR ON *Got a garden that needs cleaning up at the moment. You don't need to have an overwhelming desire to save the world, live off the land, or be more useful than a Swiss army knife, to stay here. A nice honest person is good enough. This is a relaxing place, close to nature, away from the backpacker trail on the coast but still got a bit happening, somewhere to recharge your batteries, do a bit of work, have a laugh and meet some real Aussies, maybe get out of your comfort zone a bit😜 My place is a cattle farm with one farmer, one dog, lots of birds and wildlife, relaxing place, near Kyogle, a quiet country town, which is 1.5 hours drive west from Byron Bay. Two hours south of Brisbane by train. Very close to the beautiful Border Ranges National Park (bike ride away). I like to show people around. There is a mountain on my farm with lots of tracks to walk and a creek to sw...

This is only the second school in Nagarkot, nice Nepalese village in Bhaktapur district; a 1.5 hrs bus ride from Kathmandu. It hopes to provide an English medium education for underprivileged children. The school has 7 staff members taking care of its 80+ students - aged from 4 to 12 years old - and would benefit from any help volunteers can provide. Volunteers can expect to as class helpers and also share teaching tips with the school if they can. Volunteers can also help beautify the classrooms murals to help the kids as visual aids during their school time. Becoming an independent class teacher is also an option for long-term volunteers as soon as they have a grasp on the school's curriculum and vision for students. Other jobs for volunteers include: - Writing class exercises and homework exercises for students (we have no printing/photocopying facilities) - Designing class quizzes and tests - Introducing interactive, educational games through which children can learn ...

Spring is here :) Wow, exploring right outside our backdoor along side the Campbell River on Vancouver Island, is a beautiful place to experience Vancouver Island`s great outdoors this spring or early summer :) Although we live on a one acre town lot, our back yard is situated on a cliff over looking an accessible beautiful heritage river, with a nature park setting of ferns, Douglas fir, maple and alder trees. You can often see deer, raccoons, bears and the silver backs of salmon and Steelhead fish jumping in the ebb and flow of the river’s pools. We have trail access to the river below, where you can enjoy listening to the sing song of many birds, tubing down the river/swimming in the heat of the summer, and trying your hand at casting for Steelhead fish. As well, our neighborhood is the access point to many scenic nature hiking/ walking and biking trails. The ocean photo was taken a couple of miles from my home and all other photos are of my house area or looking downwards at the r...

Stay with us by a beautiful lake, wake up to the sound of birds, enjoy the sunrise from our beach, disconnect from the noise, become more sustainable, feel the essence of nature and climb the volcano where we live. We are looking for self-sufficient and collaborative individuals to join our team of four volunteers dedicated to maintaining and guarding the property. We offer a straightforward exchange: your work in return for food. If you value independence, don't mind routine tasks, love being surrounded by nature and embrace a self-directed way of living, this could be the perfect fit for you! Hello! My name is Hugo and I live on the slopes of San Pedro volcano in Guatemala, in a wild and truly isolated area of Lake Atitlan, accessible only by water. There are no roads, no close neighbors and no noise. Just pure nature, the songs of birds and a stunning beach. I’m on a journey to build a home in this paradise. Most of the time, I share this space with volunteers, some chickens, a c...

We are on a 65 acre farm in North Pope County, Illinois and are virtually surrounded by the Shawnee National Forest. Having been on this farm for ten years, we are still developing infrastructure and are continuing to plant in the orchard and various berries as well as establishing and expanding garden and crop areas. We are a GMO, herbicide and pesticide free farm in all of our outdoor areas. As we are far away from "modern agricultural" property, we feel that we should have no problems with cross pollination of our crops with GMO's or damage/exposure from/to ag chemicals. There are many projects currently in process or in the planning stages. This summer/fall we hope to get new water and electric lines ran to all the barns and the greenhouse as well as get a fiber studio framed in and get the finishing touches on the greenhouses. Tasks on the farm are endless, so there are always things to do year round. Clearing brush, cutting wood, building fence, baling hay, sawing lumber, ...

Ideally, you'll want your own transport. I'm Thanasis, a 45 years old greek man living in the South of the Peloponnes. I'm a farmer, with oranges trees and some olive trees. I also have a shop, mainly selling coffee that I roast on site. I need help all the year to maintain the big farm (orange and olive harvest, trees pruning, pick-up fallen oranges, and so on..) If you come, you will have your own room (1 for a couple or separate), and access to all the rest of the house (kitchen, bathroom...). I like to share the meal, and provide food if you want to cook. You also can use WI-FI connection. You could enjoy the life between the farm and the city of Skala Lakonia, wich offer a lot of coffee shop, restaurants, and any kind of stores. Minimum stay is 2 weeks, to allow time to learn about life on the farm. I need help for a maximum of 5 hours per day, 5 days per week, depending on the weather. I really like to meet new people and introduce them to Greece history. I practice karaté (three times per week) and would be happy t...

Would like an energetic couple or single person to help out with gardening, and housework. We would expect about 4-5 hours help a day in return for free accommodation and meals. Large bedroom and own bathroom. We have animals so, would prefer someone who enjoyed them being around. There are many wonderful places to explore in Hawkes Bay when you are not working. Fantastic cycle ways, tramping trips into the native bush areas, beaches and wonderful wineries. Prefer you to have your own car to get around and beable to see the region.

Forest Homestay in Southern Indiana I am seeking a long-term personal assistant, someone who can help around the house as well as manage other helpers engaged for short stays. My main goal is the sorting and purging of inherited items, selling, donating or boxing up excess items. Also need to liquidate my antique store inventory and at least half of my personal collections. It’s time to let it go. Bye bye Pyrex! Once we have the main living area squared away, we can work on organizing the lower level of the house. I have tons of art supplies and 3 sewing machines but need to set up a proper craft room, as well as a second family room in that area. This is a long term paid position. You will receive a stipend as well as keeping the profits from items we sell. This position is ideal for someone who needs time and space for things like yoga and meditation, writing a book or blogging, an online job with flexible hours, wildlife photography or maybe just perfecting your bread r...

We are looking for two types of helpers from early June: firstly a good wood worker / carpenter / DIY handyman/woman capable of working effectively on your own or as a pair. Most of the work is outside but based out of a well-equipped woodworking workshop. Secondly we may be looking for someone to help with housekeeping and cooking and gardening. Plenty of opportunities on your day off, if you have interests in fishing, sailing, snorkeling, weather permitting of course. We are establishing a modest permaculture garden with heritage breed chickens and a range or of tropical fruit, vegetables and herbs. We have recently started making and using biochar, rearing soldier-fly larvae for chickens, starting oyster mushroom growing and are starting to grow various high-nutritional-value microgreens. We live next to a very quet sandy, tropical beach (tide line 135 metres from the door) in the small rural community of Wonga Beach, 90 minutes north of Cairns. We are keen on wildlife ph...

I, Christine, (63) am living with my daughter Bess (23) on an urban block. I am maintaining the vegetable garden and the house by myself. I occupy with her one of the three buildings on the property. The corner block is in a suburb of Maryborough. There are 3 public parks surrounding us and we are close to the Mary River. There are lots of kangaroos to observe in these parks. We are only 30 min by car from the ocean in Hervey Bay. I love to cook and have good conversations around the dinner table.. I offer for single or couple a bedroom with bathroom, The tasks: Depending on the season the vegetable garden needs topping up soil and mulch, weeding, some trimming of hedges, some maintenance on the house like painting some areas outside (wooden Queenslander), maintaining the gutters and cleaning various areas. Depending on your skills there are more complex tasks available. To spell it out after some not so nice experiences: In exchange for food and accommodation each helper is requi...

My name is Edison I have a wife, her name is Nofi. I also have two children, Ochta (32 years old) and Fadlil (12 years old). Ochta can speak English. I run a private English school for children between the ages of 7 and 19 in the small town of Batusangkar, West Sumatra. My goal as the principal of the school is to provide youth from my region with the English skills required to communicate better in the modern world, and therefore provide them with better opportunities in their lives. I would like to welcome any fluent English speakers under the age of thirty to assist my teachers in the classroom. You would help immensely by having simple conversations with the students and providing them a real English speaking experience inside or outside the classroom. All the students are very welcoming and curious about my visitors, and I am certain that you will have a great experience while interacting with them. You can expect to answer all their questions, pose for pictures, and be invited...

If you would like a homely, wondrous Blue Mountains experience, nestled in nature, without being surrounded by tourists, you’re welcome to stay with us. You will relax and unwind here, sit in front of the fire in the evenings, drink tea, go on bushwalks, watch the alpacas, and share stories. Then wake to amazing sunrises! Especially quiet for those that have just come from a Vipassana meditation retreat. If you're a rock climber, you can walk to crags at Shipley and Centennial Glen. We have two alpacas, some chickens, and two indoor cats. We live in a new house on a two acres, next to the Blue Mountains National Park. Amazing bushwalks begin at our home. Walk to Govetts Leap waterfall, Evans Lookout, the Grand Canyon, and Blue Gum Forest (https://youtu.be/GpAYNkuURV0). ------------------------------------------------- We need ENERGETIC help in the yard, mainly splitting firewood. Not accepting volunteers before 17th May. We are now growing more vegetables and have some Hebridean sheep and a few chickens. Springtime is preparation for the summer and some tree planting. In July we need help picking fruit (raspberries and cherries) so half your time will be spent picking fruit or foraging and the other half will vary. Please state in your application that you are fine with this. We have a farm that has been converted mostly into trees ages 20 - 35 years ago that need maintenance. This involves pruning the trees and planting new ones and weeding round the trees. We also try to develop the flora in the woods by planting wild flowers and useful forest edible plants. There are lots of other projects depending on the time of year and carpentry skills would be particularly appreciated as we always want to build things! I have also been growing trees from seeds I collected and have vegetables both outside and in the polytunnel. We are establishing a forest garden and ...

We are a family of 4, living on a 99 acre rural property. We have 2 sons (currently 16 and 17), a cat and a dog. We are non-smokers. There are a lot of hiking trails (both on the farm, and nearby), a pond to swim in, and Georgian Bay is a 25 minute drive away. My wife and sons will be in England from July 2, 2025 to July 29, 2025 visiting relatives. I'll have a bedroom available to host one person or a couple while they are gone. Most of my farm is going back to nature (over 80 acres have a managed forest plan). My dog loves the walking trails that I mow for him in the summer. If you like hiking then my dog will love you. We are in the middle of renovating parts of the house (including two of the bedrooms). I could use help finishing off the renovations. We heat with wood in the winter. I bought a truck load of hardwood logs which I will be turning into firewood and stacking in my woodshed this summer. We have a lot of small-scale agriculture equipment, 2 wheel tractors (BCS and ...

PLEASE READ description AND PLEASE IF YOU DON'T LIKE WHAT YOU READ PLEASE PLEASE DON'T apply to come just for the fun and adventures with other Travellers as I feel sad when you let me down, which automatically lets the other volunteers down ALSO. We / You all need to share the workload and leave things as you find them by having / showing respect for each other. Leave everything you touch as you find and if someone does leave a mess either let them know or please just clean up and let them all know you have done so as I always check first thing most mornings and then I take a video for Group Chat. So its nice to wake up to big aTHANK you rather than a reminder to clean up .. Remember RATS mice love left overs at night time. We have a Native TREE Field and we have planted many Natives for a future walk for the PUBLIC (already being used) so you MUST enjoy looking after the little trees which means a lot of weeding (called releasing) and maintenance & planting when your not helpin...

Helpers will need to be confident using a self-propelled mower (not a ride-on), a light weight hedge trimmer, and a strimmer, etc. The work is all physical, (no heavy lifting), and helpxers need to be completely ok with that, as well as happy to work on your own quite a bit.

We have a beautiful 1 acre lifestyle block in historic Waimate North with cottage gardens and an Airbnb. We are located about 15 minutes from Kerikeri and 20 minutes from Paihia. Ideally, you'll want your own transport. (no buses out here! :-) My husband works on the dairy farm down the road and I am currently a Masters student in Theology and learning Biblical Hebrew and Koine Greek. It'd be great if you can speak Hebrew or Greek. We need help around the property including trimming of bushes/hedges, weed wacking and general property work and tidy-up. The greenhouse is in desperate need of repair and cleanout. The gardens need to be weeded and maybe plant some more flowers? Always need more flowers! :-) We can open the beehives if weather permits, depending on when you are staying. . I may also need a hand inside with housework. We ask for 4 hours work per day with weekends off to go exploring. In return we will provide accommodation, wifi internet and access to the washing ...

There are lots of small jobs, all requiring good strong MUSCLES. We also need help with BUSH REGENERA...
