Simon and I are in our late 50s with 2 adult children. Our daughter and husband live not far from here and our son works in Amsterdam. We own a 13ha lifestyle property just 15 mins from the centre of Ashburton. I run an accommodation and beauty therapy buisness. Simon works away from home as a livestock genetics rep for a livestock company.. On our property we run a few sheep and cattle and grow Peonie Roses c. The peonie season is usually from around mid October to the end of November and is a very busy time for us. During this time I close my beauty therapy and accommodation buisness and concentrate on picking and processing the peonies. While we are new to hosting help on Helpx we are very used to meeting people through our accommodation buisness which has been in operation for 12 years. The main requirement for us is to have help in the peonie season and requires you to be physically fit. I do have other help as well. It is easy to learn and can be fun!! some days will be big which...

Would like an energetic couple or single person to help out with gardening, and housework. We would expect about 4-5 hours help a day in return for free accommodation and meals. Large bedroom and own bathroom. We have animals so, would prefer someone who enjoyed them being around. There are many wonderful places to explore in Hawkes Bay when you are not working. Fantastic cycle ways, tramping trips into the native bush areas, beaches and wonderful wineries. Prefer you to have your own car to get around and beable to see the region.

Update, possible accommodation available for kiwifruit staff. My caravan is available, not fancy but clean & waterproof. I'm a beekeeper in need of assistance, either with the bees directly or not. I'm located 16km South of Te Puke on a property that has a back boundary of native forest. I'm usually able to host people at any time of year, but am busiest in the spring. I currently have building projects happening, as well as lots of painting, waxing new bee frames, and also hands on beekeeping for anyone who is keen. I also keep sheep and cattle on the property here, and hunt deer and pigs in the forest. These grass and forest fed animals form a large part of the menu here, so vegetarians probably won`t be happy with the diet. I cater to lots of herbivores and they all have hooves or paws. The accommodation is a spare room in the house. The house is a late 1800s villa in need of replacement, but it keeps the weather out and I find it comfortable. Housework isn't high on my priority ...

Available now - painting experience wanted. I have been living in Whangarei for most of my life - love it here :-) myself and partner have recently bought a home on half an acre of land a few minutes drive from the CBD and also have a Waterfront Bach 10 minutes drive away too. Love helping the community, mountain biking and mountain biking trails and exploring lots of fun things to do nearby. With these homes there`s plenty of work to be done around - including especially painting, yard work / gardening, housework, helping building a tree house etc. I`d like to meet some travellers to help out with these and happy to introduce / show around some of northland`s best attractions / secrets! Can provide sleeping quarters, food and drinks for around 4 hours work per day.. Can also potentially provide a bike to borrow / further allowances dependent on the level of work.. Also if anyone has any specific experience and career history as any building related trade I would happily pay a go...

Stay for a night, a week, or maybe even longer... Hi folks ! We are Kim and Yulia, two artists founding a new studio and residency in north London where there is never a dull moment ;-) Kim is a creative director, photographer and musician (vocal + drums). Yulia is a photographer and is studying ayurveda and herbalism ( natural medicine). The studio is located in northern Hackney a 2 minute walk from London's famous Finsbury park, on the border of Islington and Haringey boroughs. We are renovating the space to become a multidisciplinary place for artists, musicians and craftspeople to congregate and live sharing their many talents. We are closely connected to the UK festival scene and we can share information about this and introduce you to some of our friends who host music jams and events across the city. There is a kitchen you can use freely with gas hobs and if you like to cook we would love to share meals with you sometimes. And if not, it's an invitation - not an obligat...

We love hosting helpx and have met so many people in the last 15 years! Our helpx guests work hard for their 4 hours but we also have heaps of fun together!! Do you have any planting/gardening experience? We have a few native trees to plant - it's not a big job. Also, we would like help to taking a pool down and putting up a pool on Friday 19th and Sat 20th September. We would love help with general tidying up for spring/summer. We need to wash and re-oil the deck, waterblast, weed, spray gorse (if you happy to, if not all good). We have a small cabin which is not insulated but we have lots of duvet/bedding to keep you warm. If you want to stay in your van and use our shower and toilet then you can do 3 hours of work instead of 4. You can use our shower/toilet etc. This is helpful especially when we have guests at our airbnb. We love sharing travel stories and hearing about your travels and playing card games and board games in our spare time! Our jobs vary, depending...

The accomodation is a 8' x 12' studio with a small covered front porch. There's high speed wifi and solar power, and it's surrounded by forest. There's a nice hexagonal composting toilet, an outdoor shower, and a shared kitchen and dining area. Looking for someone who can work independently on some tasks (gardening, painting) while I'm at my day job, and we'll work together some too (tree planting, construction projects). I work as a zipline guide and love touring people around the Island, so I'd be happy to take you on adventures on the weekends too!

Our next availability is one solo volunteer 1-8th October working alongside us and another volunteer. We accept people who appreciate 4hrs of daily work alongside us is a very fair exchange for wholesome meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner provided + seasonal fruit), your own private space, satellite Wi-fi and access to beautiful, private, natural surroundings with lots of native wildlife like wallabies and pademelons. In your free time, volunteers can go swimming, enjoy many of the hikes on and around our property (plus we adjoin 8,000ha/20,000ac of National Park) and meet/spend time with our animals, read , meditate, do yoga/fitness, satellite wifi, watch movies, bird watching, platypus watching...etc. We have a lot of info on our page, mainly so we get the right people applying to volunteer here. The work is usually physical (ie no cute animal feeding - that`s in your free time if you express an interest to Claire), but we offer a very fair exchange for those motivated to contri...

I own a 15 acre lifestyle farm overlooking the sea at Kuaotunu on the beautiful Coromandel Peninsula. I have 6 Alpacas, 2 cattle, 1 cat and 1 dog. I would like help to care for the gardens, grounds, 2 glamping sites and animals. I offer 3 good meals and morning tea per day, use of my bathroom facilities and home in return for 3.5 hours work per day that you are with me. If you wish to work a full day and have a full day off, I will do my best to accommodate that. Unfortunately my caravan for helpers was destroyed in a wee tornado recently so I can only host helpers who have a campervan to sleep in. The property has stunning close views of the sea and islands, a Pa site (a high hill where there was once a fortified Maori village)and is about 10-15 minutes walk down to the beach. Kuaotunu village is very small but is in a beautiful location with a general store and a very cool rustic beach shack style pizza restaurant - Lukes Kitchen - which has excellent wood fired pizzas and other foo...

Hello, I live with my mother and stepfather on a lifestyle property in Waipapa, Northland. Our property is on a kiwi bird zone and we hear them most nights; dogs and cats aren’t allowed so the native bird life flourish on our property eg Tui’s. We are 10 minute drive from Kerikeri; a lovely rural town with many kiwifruit, lemon and mandarin orchards, farmers markets and historical and natural attractions. A good location to access the beaches of northland or visit the historic town of Russell or Paihai beach. We'd like a helper for household duties, care work and light gardening. I need help with basic personal care (setting up for meals eg juicing or heating food, making the bed, doing washing, ironing, doing the dishes, passing things, light cleaning and chopping vegetables). I am flexible with the hours - options to work a mix of morning, day and evening in a week. 28hrs per week (4hrs per day equivalent) - can do the hours across 3 or 4 days or across 7 days (depending what sui...

You will stay and help cook meals for our family whilst having the opportunity to go out and explore the beautiful Hawkes Bay. We are looking for help with the following; landscaping, weeding, spraying, limbing up trees, spraying down and washing outside of buildings, washing windows, gardening and general maintenance around the property. We are in the process of renovating an old house in the Pyrenees. There is only decorating to do such as stripping paint of walls and woodwork, and repainting. There might be the occasional carpentry to do also, nothing too complicated. We need help 5 hours per day, five days per week. Weeding, pruning trees, making paths. We are looking for help from two strong and healthy individuals to assist with a house redecorating project and gardening, trimming trees, path making etc. This requires physical strength and stamina. Please note, we cannot host anyone with any pre existing health issues, physical or mental (we are not medically trained to manage such conditions). We live in a small village with some shops and a climbing centre and a river just opposite the house. We have a quite a size garden where we grow vegetables, fruit bushes and trees. Here, we have spectacular mountain views on our doorstep, hiking trails through the mountains and forests, cycling paths, and skiing in the...

Stay with us by a beautiful lake, wake up to the sound of birds, enjoy the sunrise from our beach, disconnect from the noise, become more sustainable, feel the essence of nature and climb the volcano where we live. We are looking for self-sufficient and collaborative individuals to join our team of four volunteers dedicated to maintaining and guarding the property. We are a well traveled couple living on the Tennessee River. We have had visitors from all over the world. We usually have several projects, some very interesting, some mundane. We are looking for people, 1 or 2 at a time, who want to work here and enjoy the peaceful rural river life. We take a proactive role in correcting your English grammar and word choice, during daily conversation, for those that want English improvement. NO U4U PROGRAM APPLICANTS. Type of Help: Gardening, Building, General Maintenance. Tasks are varied, but usually involves hand or electric tools(guys). There maybe carpentry work, garden work, maintenance, dock work, boat work, deck work, concrete work, and odd projects etc. We try to tailor what needs to be done with your skills and abilities or your desire to learn certain skills. More likely the work is similar to construction work than anything else. If you are HARDWORKING, PROACTIVE, THOROUGH, and PAY ATTENTION TO DETAIL, then we can't wait to hear fr...

We have availability for September for 1 person and all of November and December. We are a married couple. We have been working at improving the old farmhouse we live in for the past twenty years. We are in our late forties but are young at heart:) We have two dogs and a cat. We work outside the home. Ciarán is a landscape gardener and Anne-Marie is a teacher. Ideally you are open minded, flexible, positive even when it's raining or tasks are boring (!) and independent regarding your free time. You are hard working and focused. We ask that you demonstrate care for the environment by not having long showers, using very little chemicals for washing (e.g.by using soap ) and by turning off lights when they are not necessary. You will have your own spare bedroom with wifi access and will share the bathroom with us. There is a couch in our open plan kit...

We have a beautiful 6 hectare property in a really awesome valley. We have animals, a stream, lots of things growing. We have a large 3 bedroom house. We have a warm modern caravan for helpers to sleep in and all the other amenities are in the house. We have 3 awesome kids (only two live at home) and a great family vibe. We need help with working the land and making it as productive as we can. We need people who are hard working and take initiative. Prior experience is great but if you are a fast learner and up for a challenge then that is great too. A love of animals is definitely helpful as well. Projects include - gardening, building, organising, helping with animals, help around the house, fencing, tree planting and more. Cheers Regan and Lisa

Hi=) We are a fun, friendly household in the sunny Bay of Plenty! I'm a Drama & English teacher and Blair is an electrician. My husband and I have 2 fun, adventurous girls, we also have a puppy and cat. We enjoy biking, baking, board games and picnics at the beach, amongst other things. We would love to host people who are honest, friendly, independent, hard-workers and are interested in meeting new people and enjoying what Tauranga has to offer. In exchange for 4 hours work per day, you will receive free accomodation, meals (please provide your own snacks) and wifi. Work includes domestic-type chores; mainly cleaning, cooking and possibly baby-sitting - helps if you like children and animals. We have a cat and golden retriever. It is definitely easier if you have a car, although buses are available from here. We had a homestay from China for a year who found his way round on the buses fine but it does take a while. Happy for any amount of time e.g.:1-2 weeks or months stay but pre...

We live on a 40 acre alpaca stud farm on the edge of the beautiful Catlins. and also have rare Waipu goats that we breed. My husband and I live with three cats and two dogs as well as 5 Waipu goats, 85 plus alpacas, chickens and several wild turkeys who wandered up the driveway a few months ago. We would like people to stay at least a week and enjoy the unusual experience of handling these beautiful and charming creatures. We are currently booked up until 10th November. You will need your own transport as we are about an hour away from Invercargill but only 20 minutes from the nearest shops , you will want to visit the tourist places of which there are many. We would prefer over 25 years old people. We want help with the animals including feeding out and general care of all of them together with help in our garden and veg plot, in return we will teach you how to look after them. I spin, knit and felt as well as dye my fleece and I am more than happy to teach these skills.

I'm Thanasis, a 45 years old greek man living in the South of the Peloponnes. I'm a farmer, with oranges trees and some olive trees. I also have a shop, mainly selling coffee that I roast on site. I need help all the year to maintain the big farm (orange and olive harvest, trees pruning, pick-up fallen oranges, and so on..) If you come, you will have your own room (1 for a couple or separate), and access to all the rest of the house (kitchen, bathroom...). I like to share the meal, and provide food if you want to cook. You also can use WI-FI connection. You could enjoy the life between the farm and the city of Skala Lakonia, wich offer a lot of coffee shop, restaurants, and any kind of stores. Minimum stay is 2 weeks, to allow time to learn about life on the farm. I need help for a maximum of 5 hours per day, 5 days per week, depending on the weather. I really like to meet new people and introduce them to Greece history. I practice karaté (three times per week) and would be happy t...

LOOKING FOR 2 PEOPLE NOW FOR 1 TO 2 WEEKS. In return for 4 hours help a day I offer you accommodation and all meals in a sunny, warm home where you will have your own bedroom (queen size bed) and own bathroom with the added privacy of being in a separate wing of my house. My sunny home sits atop a hill from which you will have a magnificent view of the township of Blenheim to Cook Strait and the hills of the North Island beyond. Of course if you would prefer to work a full day in order to have a day off in which you could explore the nearby Marlborough Sounds, cycle the wine trails, or walk or climb on any of the formed tracks in this area, that would be just fine. My 40 ha property is a sheep/beef farm most of which is leased. I tend a large garden and care for the drive and tracks, drainage and irrigation and deal with fallen trees. It is situated in the midst of vineyards in the Brancott Valley 13km from Blenheim (pop 30,000) which contests the annual sunshine record every yea...

We are a well traveled couple living on the Tennessee River. We have had visitors from all over the world. We usually have several projects, some very interesting, some mundane. We are looking for people, 1 or 2 at a time, who want to work here and enjoy the peaceful rural river life. **In your message to us please let us know the time you want to stay with us and why you are interested in volunteering at our home.

Hello, We are a family who have been living in Brittany for a little over a year, specifically on Cap Sizun, west of Douarnenez. The region is beautiful and ideal for hiking, surfing (excellent spots all around our house), paddleboarding, etc. We can accommodate one or two people who would help us with a whole host of different tasks such as: - working together in the garden, - clearing the land, - weeding, - helping us build a gate, - installing the fences on our land, - building a mobile chicken coop, - building the composting area, - preparing and storing firewood, - doing some painting, - preparing meals together, - helping with supplies, etc. This list is not exhaustive; we adapt as the situation changes. There is always something to do around the house. We're looking for help 4 hours a day, 6 days a week, Monday to Saturday.

Looking for a lovely volunteer to join our family from approximately early October until the 16th/17th December We are fully booked until the end of September. Please contact us if you are interested (especially if you are a good rider - dressage or jumping or both) to help look after our wonderful animals. YOU DO NOT NEED TO BE A RIDER TO APPLY. You will live as part of the family - during your stay, our home will be your home. We are a married couple living on a property with our DOGS, HORSES and some elderly but treasured chickens. Depending on the time of year, we also run a small scale rescue and rehabilitation centre for hedgehogs. There are stunning views looking out over a Devon Wildlife Nature Reserve and beautiful countryside.
