Permaculture Nursery seeking help starting around April 27th. Our nursery specializes in rare perennial vegetables and salad plants, and other useful plants for low-maintenance edible landscapes. We have demonstration gardens that we eat from, and workshops on how to design low-maintenance, self-fertile edible ecosystems. We practice permaculture and forest gardening, and we're trying to make a productive homestead that's also ecologically rich and diverse. We love experimenting with new plants and have extensive experience growing a wide range of unusual and delicious edibles. You'd be staying in an old farmhouse, a few steps from the wild Beaver river where you can swim or go canoeing. We're located in the Beaver Valley, which is a beautiful, natural and very wild piece of the Niagara Escarpment. Come join the fun!

Hi everyone! We have a beautiful property a short walk/drive away from a gorgeous New Zealand beach. We live 45 minutes from Hamilton and 20-25 minutes from Raglan. Our area is very remote - we have some neighbours but there are no shops here or public transport, just farmland. So if you enjoy being away from cities and people then this is the place for you! Our property suits people who enjoy the outdoors and surfing, hiking, walking, animals, solitude. There is a beautiful mountain right by our house for hiking, great surfing and fishing in the area, and Raglan (a little over 20 minutes away) which is a vibrant and energetic little beach town with world famous surf. This exchange is for accommodation only. We have a cabin with a big bed and beautiful views of the farmland and mountain and sea. There is a kitchenette for you to keep and cook your own food. We βre still in need volunteers for lambing season from now on to mid of June (and even later). Come help us lamb all of our sheep and experience the wonders of life! Assist over 500 sheep in giving birth and bottle feed tiny little lambs and all the other disgusting and cute things that go along with it. Lambing season is hard work and we work in shifts of 9 hours, but with 5-10 volunteers living in the house youβll have time for fun in the sun, 2 days off each week with a household shift (cooking and cleaning). Lambing truly is a once in a lifetime experience and a great opportunity to learn about farming, sheep, and Iceland in general. The shifts are long, the days are longer, but a rewarding and satisfying experience is waiting for you! Message us on WhatsApp or on HelpX. My WhatsApp number is above. Send me (Caroline, who runs the HelpX) a message! You can also message the farmer directly via the Facebook link below, named after Beggi the farmer's cat! Profile picture is of a ca...

We have a basic but lovely country home located by the Rangitikei River. We are about 25 minutes from the nearest shop in Hunterville as well as our local pub which is located about 10 minutes away. My husband and I have a 2 year old son Joseph and a new baby Makayla born September 2024. We do our best to live off the meat that we hunt and the vegetables we grow. I'm looking for someone to help out with our veggie garden and with general work around the house or with projects that I might be doing at the time of your stay. Our roof is currently in need of some repairs so if you are someone that is interested or has experience in roof repairs then you would be a great fit however if this job wouldn't suit you then there's plenty of other chores to do. You'd be looking at around 4 hours of help per day in exchange for food and accommodation. We live on my husband's parents Deer, Sheep and Beef farm. The permaculture project and the Farm develop in the social, historical and urban fabric of the town of Modica (RG), mainly between the Fontana, Dente and Pennino districts. We actively collaborate with other projects in the province, from which we learn a lot. We live a sober, frugal, healthy life. We follow, in a somewhat radical way, the ethics of Permaculture and many of its principles. After a period of training in horticulture and spiritual reconnection in the Loire in a SΕtΕ Zen temple, a PDC at Il Filo di Paglia (Comiso) and two years of agricultural experiences of the most varied in south-eastern Sicily, we feel ready to open ourselves to volunteers , willing and passionate who want to live, share and exchange within in this vibrant and beautiful setting. The Mediterranean Sea is just 20 minutes by train (Sampieri train station). We've got a 17th century house for the project (Oct. 2022), quite abandoned for more than one year: Plenty of work has been already done, some mino...

Hello travellers..., winter is just around the corner of Australia...., BUT, it will be a very mild winter for this land hidden away in the sanctuary of the Boranup Forest. ! To stay here you will need to have your own camper van or similar...., BUT..., I can find local work for you now, especially if you have the skills of a landscape gardener ! If you come, stay and help here I can only provide an established camp site with shelter, water on tap and a fire place - I am sorry, as stated, you will need your own camper van or similar. I will provide access to toilet and lovely hot rainwater shower. A National Park is right beside this land, so there are all kinds of Australian native animals wandering around here, including Emu and Kangaroo - be very careful when driving here - and especially around sunset and sunrise. There are also many walking, MTB and 4WDing trails very close(next door !), in fact It's possible to walk(or ride) through the forest to Boranup Beach - it's 45 minute...

Hello Potential Volunteers My name is Paul and it was my dream to change my lifestyle from being an office worker to becoming an alpaca farmer.... here we are 14 years later with 100 alpacas, each individually cherishes with names and unique personalities, plus an assortment of other animals all needing our love :) I have three children: Liam (21), Dylan (9) and Oscar (6), and our 100-acre farm is home to approx.100 alpacas, plus llamas, peacocks, hens, mini pigs, a cat named Sexy, and our farm dog Malta. This year we are expecting 20 'cria' (baby alpacas) and each one will need our help so they can thrive! We need to ensure they get colostrum (filled with antibodies and vital for good health) β have they fed from their mums within the first 24hrs? Are they then drinking enough milk from their mums every day? Are they gaining weight? The well-being of my animals is the most important thing on the farm. Do they have good food and enough water, and the best possible natural environme...

In return for 4 hours help a day I offer you accommodation and all meals in a sunny, warm home where you will have your own bedroom (queen size bed) and own bathroom with the added privacy of being in a separate wing of my house. My sunny home sits atop a hill from which you will have a magnificent view of the township of Blenheim to Cook Strait and the hills of the North Island beyond. Of course if you would prefer to work a full day in order to have a day off in which you could explore the nearby Marlborough Sounds, cycle the wine trails, or walk or climb on any of the formed tracks in this area, that would be just fine. My 40 ha property is a sheep farm most of which is leased. I tend a large garden and care for the drive and tracks, drainage and irrigation and deal with fallen trees. It is situated in the midst of vineyards in the Brancott Valley 13km from Blenheim (pop 27,000) which contests the annual sunshine record every year. Most of the work is outdoors, constantly var...

Our farm is located in beautiful rural Vermont. The farm is over 200 years old but has not been actively farmed for decades. We don't have any farm animals but you may see a moose, deer and/or bear if you visit. There are 170 acres (70 hectares) of forest and fields, with a small river, and a stream flowing out of a beaver pond. The farm is beautiful and perfect for sunsets and stargazing. Nearby are 26,000 acres (10,500 hectares) of state parks with lakes and trails for hiking, biking, camping, fishing, swimming and kayaking. There is a small store/restaurant one mile away and more civilization within 25 minutes. We have been hosting for 10 years with lots of great reviews, but 2025 is our first season on HelpX. We love doing this and have made many friends around the world. Some of this year's projects are building a cabin by the river, splitting and stacking firewood, and mowing a lot of grass and fields. Clearing trails in the woods and chipping brush are a priority this summer. ...

The bathroom is about 20 metres away from the cabin and it is a composting toilet with shower that does the job but is gravity-f...

Clearing trails in the woods and chipping brush are a priority this summer. ...
