PLEASE READ THE WHOLE PROFILE BEFORE YOU APPLY TO VISIT MY PLACE AND ASK ABOUT ANYTHING YOUR NOT CLEAR ON . You dont need to have an overwhelming desire to save the world, live off the land, or be more useful than a Swiss army knife , to stay here. A nice , honest person is good enough This is a relaxing place, close to nature, away from the backpacker trail on the coast but still got a bit happening, somewhere to recharge your batteries, do a bit of work, have a laugh and meet some real Aussies ,maybe get out of your comfort zone a bit😜 My place is a cattle farm with one semi-retired😂 farmer, 15 angus cattle, one dog,, lots of birds and wildlife, relaxing place, near KYOGLE, a quiet country town which is 1.5 hours drive west from Byron Bay. Hello travellers, and a warm welcome to beautiful Olinda - I am Vita and delighted to host you. **Currently seeking Helper/s who can work in the garden or use a chainsaw to cut fire wood. Or a carpenter who can help repair weather damaged external timber windows. Or someone with mechanical experience to service chainsaw and lawn mowers. Or a Helper with sewing skills and can use a sewing machine. Or a helper who can restore and refinish furniture. I appreciate self-starters and Helpers with initiative, who do not always need to be told what to do and are capable of putting in a full days work. Weeding and garden work is always a go-to if you are waiting instructions. Helpers will sometimes be left to work by themselves as I don’t always have time to supervise them. Therefore, Helpers who can help with l...

Welcome! We are Jacob & Fern. We live together with our 2 year old daughter on our small, off grid and very humble farmlet in Guildford, Central Victoria. Guildford is home to one of Victoria's largest river red gums. It is over 500 years old. It's a very small town with only a general store, primary school & pub, half way between Castlemaine & Daylesford. We have been on this land for 1 and a half years & have started using permaculture principals & design. So far, we have completed the fence line, (to keep the rabbits out) & joyously have begun some planting both in the food forest, cottage garden & in the veggie patch. We always have seeds growing in our tiny greenhouse. Fern has a background in florist & plant nursery work and has completed a PDC. Currently a full time Mama, her interest lie in walking softly on this earth, while the little one loves watching the abundant birdlife in our vast open skies! Jacob works as a gardener, is interested in spirituality, and enjoys strummin...

Welcome to our wonderful mountains still considered part of Melbourne! If all this sounds of interest, we’d love to hear from you! We can accommodate stays of anything from a week to a couple of weeks/months - let us know what works for you. You are very welcome at our home as long as you have a negative RATS on the day you arrive as we have vulnerable family members. We are a friendly family interested in having a cultural exchange and supporting you during your stay. We basically need help in improving and maintaining the property, help needed would include gardening, painting and general housework. We were a busy couple with a great social life. We need help as we have long-term injuries after car accidents and a large part of our property was destroyed in the June storms in 2021. Sometimes our adult children 28-36 are home and 6 grandchildren under 5. We currently have 1 dog that does not come inside and have a huge yard (in case yo...

i have been on couchsurfing network for years hosting many people.. and i think this HelpX network is a great idea. Actually i kinda prefer it now. I am flexible with my time (especially during the week days) and love to hang out and make new friends.. In the summer I travel around Victoria and Australia a lot, going on road trips with friends and many music festivals -camping in the bush etc.. I am into music (composing/playing); Alternative health / medicine ; Electronics / Engineering / technology ; Anything weird wacky unusual unexplained strange secret, etc etc...; Business combining most of the above, ;) .. The world is full of amazing things and possibilities and Life can never be dull for the seeker with an open mind. I do not drink or smoke and i prefer vegetarian food but still i m pretty flexible.. During the warmer months me and my crew travel to various outdoor music festivals around Australia and we run some fun projects like a Live Jamming/Chill Space, etc.. We cre...

Hello travellers! We’ve recently built a wonderfully energy efficient passive solar house, complete with off-grid solar for all our energy needs, rain water collection for all our water needs, and a worm farm waste management system for natural black and grey water processing. We’ve put a lot of work in to achieve a fossil-fuel-free, all-electric, household, with as small an environmental footprint as possible. We’re also lucky to live in a beautiful rural/coastal area near Inverloch, Victoria, approximately 1 hour 45 minutes south-east of Melbourne. We are close to some of Victoria’s most famous wildlife and wilderness attractions, including the Penguin Parade at Phillip Island, the Koala Conservation Reserve, and hiking and camping at Wilson’s Promontory (not to mention numerous local beaches and fishing spots only 10 minutes away!). With our house complete, we’re now working to progress the landscaping aspects of our project. We’d be very appreciative of a helping hand or two to ...

I have a beautiful home on the ridge in Elanora on the Gold Coast, South East Queensland, Australia. It is in a Koala sanctuary, surrounded by bush and wildlife. Often you will see wallabies grazing in the back yard, and if you are patient, also koala’s in the trees. You definitely will hear the latter even if you do not see them! There are plenty of bush walks around my house for you to explore the native wildlife. In my opinion (and many helpers that I have hosted) my offer is a great opportunity to live in a very special part of the Gold Coast. The property is set in bushland but is only five (5) minutes drive to Currumbin Beach and close to other beaches and Shopping Centres. The Pines Shopping Centre is the closest to my home and provides all that you would need. I have found most helpx people are not into large shopping centres and prefer beaches and wilderness which my property has in spades. I would prefer a couple as I have found that better for me and you can keep you...

I'm Julie and my partner Charles and we are an older (in age) couple living the dream and have a small slice of heaven in the Tweed Caldera surrounded by a lot of Australia's wildlife. Our place is 26km inland from Murwillumbah. It's a 45 minute drive from Gold Coast airport, just over the Queensland border. We are 900kms north of Sydney. It is a 1 hour 20 minute flight to Gold Coast (OOL). From Sydney to Murwillumbah by bus takes 15 hours. When not working we travel to SE Asia and bush walk our local area. We are both accepting of all and our mantra is 'Peace, Love and Understanding'. There are no rigid helping hours or conditions. Jobs are dependent on weather conditions and what needs to be done at that time and what helpers would like to get involved with. Julie is multi skilled and talented in lots of areas. Conversation is never dull! Charles was born in Scotland and lived in Canada before coming to Australia. He also has a wide range of interests and skills. You name it,...

Kim and I (Lucy) believe that good food is essential to living well and to eat and live well, we need to have control over our food source. Our organically managed farm and gardens supply most of our food.. We see permaculture as the over-arching management system and under this umbrella, we practice regenerative agriculture through rotational managed grazing, planting trees and slowing down the flow of water across the landscape to keep the pasture greener longer. We value our resources, try to limit our consumption of non-necessary things and we consider healthy food as a key part of our lifestyle. Our lifestyle has had a positive effect on all our past helpers, just read our reviews to see how good it has been for them. We've had some really great helpers and they have said some lovely things about us! We enjoy having people here and they seem to enjoy it too. Kim and Lucy run a cattle herd and have other animals from time to time, like chickens, pigs, sheep and goats. We used t...

Well-established Permaculture property with orchard, garden and animal systems located ten minutes from Noosa and seven minutes from (famous) Eumundi Markets. (But public transport VERY poor in this area - see note at the end) Dave is a past Permaculture Teacher and therefore only interested in working with people keen to increase their knowledge of Permaculture systems. We are a laid-back but hard working couple who enjoy the "good life" in all its simplicity. We practice regenerative agriculture (using many chickens) and focus on cover crops as well as adding micro-organisms to our soil.a We are looking for a single person or happy couple, with practical skills and a focus on wanting to grow their own food/becoming self-sufficient, to assist with gardening, care of our animals, DIY tasks and improvements to the our system. We can offer accommodation, Permaculture teaching and two meals/day (what we normally eat; plus access to our caravan with gas burner & fridge space) for mini...

My house is in Tempe, Sydney, a handy suburb to experience Sydney. We are just 9 minutes by train to the Sydney Centre and Bondi Junction another 11 minutes further on. The airport is a short 12 minutes to nearby Wolli Creek Station. The city and trendy Newtown and Marrickville are nearby and easily accessible by bus. I have been fortunate to have amazing Helpx helpers who have helped me transform my garden and house over the past 10 months. The only job still needed is wall tiling, concreting the sandstone paving into place and a very small amount of painting. As with most old houses there is always ongoing maintenance needed. In addition, i have listed a self-contained one bedroom flat on AirBnB so help with changeover of bedding and cleaning would be helpful. I work from home for 3 days per week and 2 days in the office. I offer accommodation, and while I offer food when I'm cooking it isn't part of the exchange. There are 2 supermarkets nearby and you have access to your own are...

Tim and I moved to our little farm seven years ago and are spending our time developing a garden and planting trees. We joined Landcare to give us extra knowledge about the local trees and wildlife that need protecting. Tim is a retired engineer, so is enjoying developing the infrastructure around the place and I am a creative arts teacher and still working on-line at an Australian university. I have planted a large fragrant rose garden with 400 bushes and would like to make rose water and rose oil eventually. We have an organic fruit and vegetable garden with many fruit trees and a variety of vegetables. Our dam is well stocked with yabbies and we are within easy walking distance of the Murray River for fishing. We require help with planting, weeding and general development of our property. It is not-for-profit farm and we enjoy being able to share our produce with family and friends. Our house is clean and bright and comfortable with separate bathroom facilities for guests. ...

We are both migrants to this beautiful country and we enjoy sharing our experience with you, we speak English, French and German We are on the coast and the weather here is the best in the world.

Hi folks, YES, we achieved a lot since returning from a 3+ year break in Feb 2022, beautifying our wonderful Paradise Gardens property, something we could not have done on our own. We are thankful for having had great assistance from amazing volunteers over the years, enriching our lives culturally and socially while progressing our beautification projects. We are a fit & energetic older couple with the following background: - Rene, 69yo, Swiss origin, Architect / Photographer / Traveller / Retired Resort Owner & Operator / Retired Tour Operator / Retired Restaurateur / Handyman (DIY Building) / Landscaper / Gardener. - Julie, 64yo, Philippine origin, Chef / Traveller / Retired Resort Owner & Operator / Retired Tour Operator / Retired Restaurateur. Our hosting, as well as workflow, is intermediate, as such, we may have breaks in between and preferences & requirements may change. With most of the earlier days' heavy lifting on structural projects, including the construction of a ser...

I am offering helpers the opportunity to stay in a very unique part of Australia. Consider staying and helping here on a very peaceful and hidden bushland property. This land is 20 minutes drive from Margaret River, 15 min from Augusta and very , very close to Hamelin Bay. Beside this land is a tall forest National Park with a lot of walk/bike trails and 4WD tracks to the quieter parts of Hamelin Bay. It's possible to walk or ride through the forest to Boranup Beach - it's only 45 minutes. This area is in a totally unique, hidden location close to a wild and beautiful Marine Park and the tall forest National Park. But be advised..., this place is a 15 min drive to Augusta and 20 min to Margaret River ! It is a very beautiful place to stay...., and it will be very different from any of the usual helpx locations ! I ask that visitor/helpers are totally self contained in either their own camper van or vehicle and tent ..., and I offer some very unique camp spaces to stay and create your ...

Hello travellers, and a warm welcome to beautiful Olinda - I am Vita and delighted to host you. **Currently seeking Helper/s who can work in the garden or use a chainsaw to cut fire wood.

Our house is clean and bright and comfortable with separate bathroom facilities for guests. ...

Hello and Welcome, We are open again for an exchange! We love the experience of having international and Australian guests in our homes, sharing their gifts and energy. We had a tree change from Sydney to Coramba a bit over 2 years ago, and we are very much enjoying our new country life. This unique property is 115 acres, with breathtaking mountain and valley vista views and direct access to the Orara National Forest. During the summer, we have a pool to cool down in. We also have a beach house that we sometimes work on. It is a 27-minute drive from here. We can do 5 hrs a day, five days a week. Short stays are welcome. Please get in touch with us if you are interested in a country stay/exchange. Look forward to hearing from you! Cheers, Arnie and Lorraine

After over 10 YEARS hosting our wonderful VOLUNTEER helpers, we are selling our much loved rain forest property. So we need helpers now to help us tidy up for SALE of our property and organise for MOVING. As David has just come out of hospital and is not the fit young man that he once was, you will be experienced in all the skills that we need, and a self started because he won't be able to supervise as much as he used to. EXPERIENCE in heavy outdoors work with lawn tractors, whipper snippers, saws and machetes is ESSENTIAL. A couple of such workers would be ideal. That said, we plan to have a great time with our helpers as always, treating you members of our family. We love conversation, playing cards and touring with our volunteers to the national parks, beaches, museums galleries etc. that our fabulous region has to offer. All the amazing flora and fauna, the flowers, trees, wallabies, goannas and birds, birds, birds are still here to delight you! Please come and HELP US! As pre...
